State Releases 2019 Third Quarter Fatal Overdose Data

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 09:00 PM PST

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Opioid Operational Command Center and the Maryland Department of Health have released their quarterly report on the opioid crisis in Maryland for the third quarter of 2019. The report includes preliminary data for unintentional drug- and alcohol-related intoxication deaths for the period between January and September 2019. The report also provides a summary of the state's annual strategic plan for the heroin and opioid crisis and includes information on the grant programs that the OOCC administers to support Maryland's fight against the epidemic.

From January through September of 2019, there were 1,574 deaths related to opioids in Maryland. Opioid deaths accounted for 88.7 percent of the 1,774 total unintentional intoxication deaths during this same period.

When compared to the first nine months of 2018, opioid-related deaths declined by 4.8% percent, and total unintentional intoxication deaths were down by 4.1 percent.

"The third-quarter data show that we must remain completely dedicated to this cause. While opioid-related fatalities have fallen from their all-time highs, they continue to represent an unprecedented threat to Maryland's citizens – a threat that we are working overtime to neutralize," said Executive Director Steve Schuh of the OOCC.

The state is addressing the opioid crisis through efforts in the areas of Prevention & Education, Enforcement & Public Safety, and Treatment & Recovery. In addition to overseeing the distribution of approximately $10 million in general-fund grants each year, the OOCC works closely with each of Maryland's 24 local jurisdictions to coordinate response efforts and ensure that best practices and other informational resources are in place and working effectively. This coordinated response is outlined in the state's annual strategic plan for the opioid crisis, entitled Maryland's Inter-Agency Opioid Coordination Plan. Additionally, the OOCC has cataloged 129 model programs from around the state in the Opioid Use Disorder Program Inventory, which is made available to all local jurisdictions.

There were 1,436 fentanyl-related deaths in the first nine months of 2019, representing a 1.1 percent decrease over the same time period last year. Fentanyl was involved in over 93 percent of all opioid-related deaths during this period.

"Fentanyl is a lethal drug often involved in fatalities. The situation has become extremely complex since people often use multiple substances, such as fentanyl in combination with cocaine. Thus far in 2019, there have been more fatalities involving cocaine than heroin," said Secretary of Health Robert R. Neall.

Cocaine is the second-most prevalent drug involved with overdose deaths in Maryland. There were 643 cocaine-related deaths in Maryland between January and September of 2019. When compared to the same period of 2018, the number of cocaine-related deaths decreased by eight percent. The general increase in cocaine-related deaths over the last several years can be attributed to the use of cocaine in combination with opioids, which have been involved with approximately 90 percent of cocaine-related deaths so far in 2019.

Heroin-related deaths continued their recent downward trend. The 571 heroin-related deaths in Maryland between January and September of 2019 represent a 12.7 percent decrease when compared with the same period in 2018. Prescription opioid-related deaths fell by 2.5 percent in the first nine months of 2019 when compared to the same period in 2018.

"Through collaboration and diligence, we have developed an effective response to the crisis in Maryland using resources from across the state and employing multiple strategies," Secretary Neall added. "Although we can't let up on our efforts, we are optimistic that the burden of this crisis will continue to decrease."

The OOCC's quarterly report can be found at www.BeforeItsTooLate.Maryland.gov.

Before It's Too Late is the state's effort to bring awareness to the opioid epidemic and to mobilize resources for effective prevention, enforcement and treatment. Marylanders struggling with a substance use disorder can find help at BeforeItsTooLateMD.org; through our state's crisis hotline, CALL 211, PRESS 1; or by texting their ZIP code to 898-211.

Is Social Media The New Tobacco?

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 08:00 PM PST

If we set out to design a highly addictive platform that optimized the most toxic, destructive aspects of human nature, we'd eventually come up with social media.

Social problems arise when initially harmless addictions explode in popularity, and economic problems arise when the long-term costs of the addictions start adding up. Political problems arise when the addictions are so immensely profitable that the companies skimming the profits can buy political influence to protect their toxic products from scrutiny and regulation.

That describes both the tobacco industry before its political protection was stripped away and social media today, as the social media giants hasten to buy political influence to protect their immensely profitable monopolies from scrutiny and regulation.

It's difficult to measure the full costs of addictions because our system focuses on price discovery at the point of purchase, meaning that absent any regulatory measuring of long-term consequences, the cost of a pack of cigarettes is based not on the long-term costs but solely on the cost of producing and packaging the tobacco into cigarettes, and the enterprise side: marketing, overhead and profit.

Freedom Loving Virginians Are Fighting Back, but Will It Be Enough?

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:30 PM PST

Democratic governors of states with significant non-leftist populations tend to lean centrist. In part, it's because they know they need the consent and at least some of the support of their state's conservatives in order to win office and govern effectively. Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, however, isn't a centrist, but rather a radical left-winger made more radical – if that were even possible – by his constant need to grovel before the social justice wing of his party to "atone" for his blackface or KKK-robe-wearing medical school yearbook picture past.

It's a problem for freedom-loving Virginians that only intensified when Democrats managed to narrowly take over both statehouses and chose to interpret their victory as a mandate to pass a radical leftist agenda that would make the likes of California, New York, and Oregon proud. In the most newsworthy of the various ways they intend to destroy the once-great state, Virginia Democratic lawmakers plan to pass a whole lot of unneeded gun control legislation in 2020, legislation that will make the lives of all its citizens significantly worse.

The scariest, so far, of all the proposals put forth by Governor Coonman and crew is a ban on commonly used semi-automatic firearms currently owned legally by thousands of thus-far law-abiding gun owners. In a gesture of purported acquiescence to the state's significant non-leftist population, current gun owners will apparently be "grandfathered" in, but only on the condition that they register their firearms. How many who choose to comply with an action that everyone knows good and well would eventually lead to some sort of confiscation will determine how many formerly law-abiding Virginians will then be outside the law, in effect 'outlaws' simply waiting to be caught.

Harris Announces $125,000 Substance Abuse Grant in Worcester County

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:00 PM PST

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of a $125,000 grant to treat and prevent substance abuse in Worcester County. The grant is through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the funds will be administered by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.

The $125,000 federal grant is to Mosaic Community Services, Inc., located in Pocomoke City, for the Berlin Prevention Works Coalition for Drugs and Alcohol-Free Communities.

The Center for Substance Abuse Prevention works with federal, state, public and private organizations to develop comprehensive prevention systems. The Center helps prevent the onset of illegal drug use, prescription drug misuse and abuse, alcohol misuse and abuse, and underage alcohol and tobacco use.

Congressman Harris made the following statement:

"Fighting the opioid epidemic remains a top priority for me in Congress. As a physician, I am proud to serve on the Committee on Appropriations subcommittee that funds the Department of Health and Human Services, and I applaud the award of this HHS grant in Worcester County. Congress should prioritize efforts to fight substance abuse over partisan politics, and I am committed to ensuring that local, rural communities on the Eastern Shore get needed resources to help afflicted families. The impact of substance abuse extends beyond individuals – this is a family and community-wide crisis. It is my hope that this federal investment in the Eastern Shore will help people get treatment and prevent addiction."

Saudi Arabia arrests 200 people for violating 'public decency', wearing 'immodest clothing' and 'harassment' in first crackdown since the kingdom began relaxing social rules

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:30 PM PST

Saudi Arabia has arrested more than 200 people for violating 'public decency' in the first such crackdown since the ultra-conservative kingdom began easing social regulations.

Some 120 men and women have been arrested over the past week for offending public morals, including by wearing immodest clothing and 'harassment', police said.

Another 88 people were arrested in various harassment cases, police added in separate statements, after several women complained on social media that they were harassed at the MDL Beast music festival in Riyadh earlier this month.

Other rules broken included wearing 'inappropriate clothes', Riyadh police said in a series of statements on Twitter since Tuesday.

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:00 PM PST

Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed during a Sunday campaign event that "we're all dead" if fossil fuels continue to be used as one of the world's primary energy sources.

Biden made the apocalyptic pronouncement while discussing climate change before a crowd of supporters in Peterborough, New Hampshire.

"If we don't stop using fossil fuels–" an attendee began a question to the candidate.

"We're all dead," Biden interrupted.

Earlier in the event, Biden vowed as president to hold energy giants liable for global warming and made a pledge to even jail executives.

DEBT BUBBLE BURST IMMINENT

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 05:30 PM PST

If something cannot go on forever, it will stop.

This seems self-evident, but as Jim Rickards noted in a recent article about the ever-growing levels of debt, people tend to ignore this indisputable truth.

Total global debt reached a record of over $250 trillion in the first half of 2019, according to an Institute of International Finance report published in November. Global debt surged by $7.5 trillion through the first half of the year. "With no sign of a slowdown, we expect the global debt load to exceed $255 trillion in 2019, largely driven by the US and China."

According to SRSrocco, global debt has added $100 trillion in debt since the 2008 financial crisis

"Now, the majority of that debt went into the Stock, Bond, and Real Estate Markets. This is precisely why the US stock market has reached an all-time new high. Unfortunately, when the US and the global economy finally enters into a recession-depression, the asset values will crash while the debts remain."

"Don't Touch Kids You Pervert!": Biden Middle School Gymnasium Rally Melts Down Into Chaos

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 04:30 PM PST

A Joe Biden event on Sunday at a New Hampshire Middle School gymnasium was interrupted by two protesters, who assailed 'quid pro Joe' with accusations of being a 'pervert' and making money in Ukraine.

"You've touched kids on video, and women," shouted one man, adding "We don't need another old white man running for president - time to have a minority candidate," to which Biden - who likely didn't hear the guy, said "I agree with ya man. I agree. Nice talkin' with you."

"You don't touch kids ever again, the man continued. "Don't touch kids, you pervert!" he continued, to which Biden shook his head.

"Look it up," the man told the gasping crowd. "Don't lie to them, 'creepy uncle biden,' look it up!"

How Crisco Made Americans Believers in Industrial Food

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 04:00 PM PST

Perhaps you'll unearth a can of Crisco for the holiday baking season. If so, you'll be one of millions of Americans who have, for generations, used it to make cookies, cakes, pie crusts and more.

But for all Crisco's popularity, what exactly is that thick, white substance in the can?

If you're not sure, you're not alone.

For decades, Crisco had only one ingredient, cottonseed oil. But most consumers never knew that. That ignorance was no accident.

A century ago, Crisco's marketers pioneered revolutionary advertising techniques that encouraged consumers not to worry about ingredients and instead to put their trust in reliable brands. It was a successful strategy that other companies would eventually copy.

Transgender Athletes Playing Competitive Sports Was a Rising Policy Issue in 2019

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 03:00 PM PST

The year 2019 saw an uptick in male athletes besting females in female-only sports, citing their transgender identity.

Now, lawmakers in three states—Washington, Tennessee, and Georgia—have proposed legislation that would place restrictions on transgender athletes in sports. Might legislation quell this new wave of transgender activism and make sports fair again?

The Tennessee Star reports that state Rep. Bruce Griffey, a Republican, proposed HB 1572, a bill that would "require elementary and secondary school student-athletes to compete in sports based on their biological sex at birth."

The legislation stipulates that if Tennessee public schools violate this requirement, they would no longer be eligible to receive taxpayer subsidies from the state or a local government.

Kansas Cop Busted Faking Coffee Cup Hate Crime

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 02:30 PM PST

A Kansas City police officer resigned on Monday after he was caught writing "F***ing Pig" on his own coffee cup at a Junction City McDonald's.

The ex-officer, who remains unidentified, brought the cup to the attention of the manager and was offered a free lunch. That wasn't good enough for the now unemployed 'pig,' as the story somehow wound up making headlines.

After a thorough review of video surveillance, however, the owner of the franchise, Dana Cook, said in a statement to KSNT that "the words were not written by one of our employees. My McDonald's have the utmost respect for all members of law enforcement and the military and were troubled by the accusation made," Cook added.

The detainees 'intended to carry out terrorist acts in crowded places in St. Petersburg during the New Year holidays', said the FSB.

Footage shows armed FSB operatives manhandling two suspects and uncovering shotgun shells and knives at the property in Putin's home city on Friday night.

Homan: Prepare for 'out-of-control border' if Dem wins in 2020

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 01:30 PM PST

Former acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement [ICE] Thomas Homan warned Democrats seeking the White House in 2020 against "enticing" illegal immigrants with lax immigration policies, in an interview that aired Sunday, saying America could face an "out-of-control border" if a Democrat unseats President Trump.

"They say they care about these people, they care about children dying and women being raped... they need to look in the mirror because if you keep offering enticements... 'sanctuary cities'... free health care... in-state tuition... people are going to put themselves in harm's way to come to this country," Homan told Steve Hilton on "The Next Revolution."

"This president has gotten the border down 65 percent... on his own, and at the same time, you've got the Democrat Party throwing out more enticements," he continued.

THE IRS PLACED LIEN ON HUNTER BIDEN FOR ABOUT $113,000 IN UNPAID TAXES FROM YEAR HE SERVED ON BURISMA BOARD

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 01:00 PM PST

The IRS placed a tax lien on Hunter Biden seeking $112,805 in unpaid taxes from 2015, according to records the Daily Caller News Foundation obtained.

The federal agency issued the previously unreported lien in November 2018 and it seeks unpaid taxes for a year in which Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, served on the boards of the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Holdings and the Chinese private equity firm BHR Partners.

"We have made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid," the IRS stated in the lien notice, which it filed with the Washington, D.C., Recorder of Deeds. "Therefore, there is a lien in favor of the United States on all property and rights to property belonging to this taxpayer for the amount of these taxes."

The tax lien was issued against Hunter Biden and his ex-wife, Kathleen Biden, but was delivered to the same address Hunter Biden has on file with Connecticut's Judicial Branch, an address that is also linked to his law firm, Owasco PC.

This Firearms Instructor Is Reportedly The Hero Who Killed Texas Church Gunman With Single Head Shot

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 12:30 PM PST

On Sunday, during what would otherwise likely be a quiet worship service at the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas, an armed gunman entered the church and after talking to a man for several minutes in the corner, pulled out a shotgun and opened fire.

The gunman, as was witnessed in recorded video of the entire incident, barely managed to get off more than a few rounds before an armed security guard standing 50 feet away from the shooter drew his pistol and fired a single shot, instantly killing the gunman with what appeared to be a perfectly placed head shot.

Late Sunday night, reports began to emerge via social media that the hero who managed to severely mitigate the loss of life inside the church by quickly killing the gunman is reportedly identified as a local man by the name of Jack Wilson, who also happens to reportedly be a long-time, certified firearms instructor.

Donald Trump praises 'wonderful statements' of Jewish leader who accuses AOC, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib of anti-Semitic hate speech

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 12:00 PM PST

Donald Trump praised a Jewish leader Monday for 'wonderful statements about me' after he blamed Democrats for a rise in anti-Semitism and slammed Bill de Blasio and Andrew Cuomo in the wake of a mass stabbing at a Hanukkah party.

'There is a cause for hate speech. When you have the Farakahns of the world, when you have members of the United States Congress – Tliab, Omar, AOC – when you have them indulging in hate speech themselves – and to get away with it. You know there's a new standard, one is for anti-Semitism and one is for other type of hate,' Dav Hikind said on Fox & Friends Sunday morning.

'Unfortunately, people within my party – I'm a Democrat – within the Democratic Party, there's a double standard,' he said, claiming those on the left disparage any type of hate speech unless it's against Jewish people.

'The hate, the anti-Semitism that emanates from within the left – you don't hear anything, you hear very little,' he continued. 'Anything that comes from the other side, it's all – I mean, even the mayor of the city of New York has continued to call the hate coming from the right. All the hate in New York is coming from the left.'

CBS News apologizes for mixing up Elijah Cummings and John Lewis on air

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 11:00 AM PST

CBS News on Monday apologized for confusing one congressman for another during their evening broadcast.

The network showed a photo of late Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings, who died in October at 68, when referring to Georgia Democrat John Lewis.

The image of the longtime lawmaker was placed next to a quote from the civil rights icon about his recently revealed battle with stage four pancreatic cancer.

"While I am clear-eyed about the prognosis… I have a fighting chance," the quote from Lewis said.

The network's embarrassing error drew scorn on social media.

"Can't believe CBS News is showing a picture of the late U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings w/ Congressman John Lewis' name as they talk about Rep. Lewis' recent announcement. Get it right!" wrote @StephonFerguson.

TX Lt. Gov. Praises Armed Parishioners, Calls Them ‘Immediate Responders’

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 09:30 AM PST

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) praised the reaction of armed parishioners during the White Settlement church attack, referring to them as "immediate responders."

Breitbart News reported a man opened fire in the church Sunday morning, only to be shot and killed when a good guy with a gun returned fire. Fox News reports that a second parishioner who serves on the church security team shot the attacker as well.

The Dallas Morning News quoted Lt. Gov. Patrick saying:

"The immediate responder is the most important. The citizen responder. Because even though the chief's brave officers were here in less than a minute … by the time they got here, the shooting was over. And that always happens, that over 50 percent of shootings, our first responders, it's usually over when they get there, no matter how hard they try."

Family: Hanukkah stabbing suspect had mental illness history

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 09:15 AM PST

A man accused of storming into a rabbi's home and stabbing five people as they celebrated Hanukkah in an Orthodox Jewish community north of New York City was raised to embrace tolerance but has a history of mental illness, his family said.

"Grafton Thomas has a long history of mental illness and hospitalizations. He has no history of like violent acts and no convictions for any crime," his family said late Sunday in a statement issued by attorney Michael Sussman. "He has no known history of anti-Semitism and was raised in a home which embraced and respected all religions and races. He is not a member of any hate groups."

"We believe the actions of which he is accused, if committed by him, tragically reflect profound mental illness," the statement said.

Fitton: We Don’t Need More Reports, We Need Prosecutions

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 09:00 AM PST

"The president is a crime victim," said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, in an interview on Monday's edition of SiriusXM's Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

Fitton examined the possibility of Joe Biden being subpoenaed to testify as a witness in a Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

"The reason that what Joe Biden has to say is important is, the defense for President Trump is, did [Donald Trump] have a good faith reason for asking about Biden and Ukraine, and whether serious issues and allegations needed to be investigated?" said Fitton, referring to Trump's request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate possible corruption on the part of Joe Biden and Hunter Biden in relation to Ukrainian energy company Burisma. "If [Donald Trump] is going to make that case, Joe Biden's going to be central to it in terms of any witnesses."

Fitton expressed skepticism of the Department of Justice's criminal probe into the origins of the FBI's operation against Trump during his first presidential campaign.

"If the past is prologue, I don't think there [are] going to be prosecutions of significant figures … like Comey, Brennan, things like that," estimated Fitton. "My guess is there's a grand jury that's allowing the government — [John Durham] — to get documents. They get subpoenas to the grand jury for some documents, but bringing in witnesses to testify [is] what needs to be done and it's not being done."

4.3M Migrants Caught at SW Border in Decade — More Than Los Angeles Population

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 08:30 AM PST

Border Patrol agents apprehended more than four million migrants who illegally crossed the southwest border with Mexico during the past 10 fiscal years. If these migrants were placed into a single city, it would be larger than Los Angeles by population.

During the past 10 fiscal years, October 1, 2009, through September 30, 2019, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the nine sectors that make up the United States' southwest border with Mexico apprehended 4,318,200 migrants. The highest year during that decade for apprehensions occurred during Fiscal Year 2019 when agents apprehended 851,553 — including 76,020 Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) and 473,682 Family Unit Aliens (FMUA), according to reports obtained from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Apprehensions by Fiscal Year:
  • FY2019 — 851,553
  • FY2018 — 396,579
  • FY2017 — 303,916
  • FY2016 — 408,870
  • FY2015 — 331,333
  • FY2014 — 479,371
  • FY2013 — 414,397
  • FY2012 — 356,873
  • FY2011 — 327,577
  • FY2010 — 447,731
During the past decade, Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended the largest numbers of migrants. Between fiscal years 2010 and 2019, RGV Sector agents apprehended 1,600,663 migrants who illegally crossed the border into South Texas, the reports state.

TOP 10: President Trump’s biggest accomplishments of 2019!

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 08:00 AM PST

Americans saw plenty of Washington at its worst this year, with one party in Congress obsessed with a partisan impeachment stunt and obstructing progress at every turn. But despite getting no help from the far left, America today is soaring to new heights.

It's tough to pick only 10 accomplishments from such an extraordinary year, but here are just a few of the biggest things President Donald J. Trump has gotten done for the American people in 2019:
  1. The Trump Boom is going strong. The unemployment rate recently hit its lowest mark in 50 years. All told, since President Trump's election, our economy has added more than 7 million jobs—over half a million in manufacturing alone.
  2. The stock market keeps breaking records: The Dow Jones and S&P 500 hit record closes again on Friday.
  3. The working class is thriving, as are previously forgotten communities. Wages are now rising the fastest for low-income workers, and poverty rates for African Americans and Hispanic Americans have reached all-time lows.
  4. Accountable government is back. Since taking office, President Trump has rolled back nearly 8 regulations for every new one, saving American taxpayers more than $50 billion in the process—with bigger savings still to come.
  5. Better trade deals are putting America back in the driver's seat. Congress approved President Trump's USMCA this month—a huge win for U.S. workers, farmers, and manufacturers that will create 176,000 new jobs.
  6. Trade with China in particular is about to get a whole lot fairer. As part of a historic "phase 1" deal, Beijing has agreed to structural reforms in its trade practices and to make substantial purchases of American agricultural products.
  7. Securing the border is paying off and making our country safer. President Trump struck new agreements with Mexico and Central American countries this year to help stop the flood of illegal immigration. Thanks to this swift action, border apprehensions fell by more than 70 percent from May to November.
  8. On health care, President Trump is fighting to give our patients the best system on Earth. While Democrats try to take away choice, the President's focus on affordability led to the largest year-over-year drop in drug prices ever recorded.
  9. American interests are taking center stage abroad. In just one example: After years of not paying their fair share, NATO Allies will have increased defense spending by $130 billion by the end of next year.
  10. Our great military took out the world's top terrorist in October. (Meet Conan, the hero dog who helped them do it!) Our troops are now getting the support they deserve. President Trump recently signed the National Defense Authorization Act for the 2020 fiscal year, which includes the biggest pay raise for our military in a decade.
On behalf of President Trump and his entire Administration, have a blessed and wonderful New Year!

WATCH: "Our best days are yet to come!"

‘Worst Mayor in NYC’: Giuliani and de Blasio trade punches in online spat about anti-Semitic attacks

Rudy Giuliani and Bill de Blasio exchanged jabs about anti-Semitism in the wake of the brutal machete attack that took place over the weekend.

On Saturday, a man attacked a Hanukkah celebration in the home of a Hasidic rabbi in New York. The assault was the 13th anti-Semitic attack in New York in the past few weeks, sparking a conversation about what needs to be done to stop the hateful bloodshed.

Giuliani, 75, took the first swing after the attack and condemned de Blasio's leadership in the wake of the continued attacks. He criticized the current mayor's decision to part ways with the policies Giuliani implemented as mayor, including "broken windows theory," which required strict enforcement of minor crimes in order to create bottom-up compliance to stop severe crimes like homicide. The policy has been criticized by some because it can lead to distrust of law enforcement for cracking down on less serious crimes.

Fox Crushes Cable News With Record High Viewership As CNN Implodes

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:30 AM PST

Fox News dominated the basic cable news industry in 2019, according to a new report, which specifies the network has hit record high viewership.

Nielsen Media Research said Fox News averaged 2.5 million viewers during primetime in 2019, far outpacing any other news network. The network's viewership hit a 23-year high this year, blowing out its competitors, CNN and MSNBC, by a long shot

Fox News even beat out ESPN with its 1.78 million viewers during primetime. It seems the American people under a Trump administration are more concerned about politics and the economy than sports. MSNBC trailed ESPN for the third spot at 1.75 viewers during primetime. This is the fourth consecutive year Fox News has blown out its competitors.

Nielsen said CNN came in 22nd place, recorded just 972,000 viewers during primetime.

How Liberals Rewrite the History of the Clinton Impeachment

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:15 AM PST

The "striking" difference between the Bill Clinton and Donald Trump impeachments, argue MSNBC hosts and others in the media, was not only the willingness of Clinton to "show contrition," but the willingness of his supporters to acknowledge that the president had done something wrong.

Let's not let liberals rewrite history.

In the real world, Clinton, with help from the entire Democratic Party, kept earnestly lying to anyone who would listen—the media, the American people, a grand jury—until physical evidence compelled him to admit what he had done.

His subsequent "contrition," as impeachment picked up steam, was a matter of political survival. The notion that Trump engaged in "bribery" is debatable. The notion that Clinton perjured himself is not.

"Because You'd Be In Jail!" - The Real Reason Democrats Are Pushing Trump Impeachment?

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:00 AM PST

In the time-honored tradition of Machiavellian statecraft, all of the charges being leveled against Donald Trump to remove him from office – namely, 'abuse of power' and 'obstruction of congress' –are essentially the same things the Democratic Party has been guilty of for nearly half a decade: abusing their powers in a non-stop attack on the executive branch. Is the reason because they desperately need a 'get out of jail free' card?

Due to the non-stop action in Washington of late, few believe that the present state of affairs between the Democrats and Donald Trump are exclusively due to a telephone call between the US leader and the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. That is only scratching the surface of a story that is practically boundless.

Back in April 2016, before Trump had become the Republican presidential nominee, talk of impeachment was already in the air.
"Donald Trump isn't even the Republican nominee yet," wrote Darren Samuelsohn in Politico.

Yet impeachment, he noted, is "already on the lips of pundits, newspaper editorials, constitutional scholars, and even a few members of Congress."

Chris Christie: Impeachment Is Already Hurting Democrats, Republicans May Flip Three Seats in New Jersey

Posted: 31 Dec 2019 04:00 AM PST

The slapdash impeachment of President Donald Trump has already flipped one Democratic congressional seat from Democrat to Republican.

Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) flipped parties during the impeachment process to Republican saying the Democrat Party is moving further and further to the left and morphing into a Socialist party.

On Sunday former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie told ABC's "This Week" that impeachment was already hurting Democrats and it could flip three seats to Republican in New Jersey.
