Better than a Flu Shot!

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:00 PM PST

Miss Beatrice, The church organist, Was in her eighties
And had never been married. She was admired for her
sweetness and kindness to all.
One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room.
She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea...
As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a cut glass bowl sitting on top of it.
The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated of all things, a condom!

When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its
strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist.

'Miss Beatrice', he said,
'I wonder if you would tell me about this?
pointing to the bowl.
'Oh, yes,' she replied, 'Isn't it wonderful?
I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground.
The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease.
Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter.

Boris Johnson: UK will have points-based immigration system in 2021

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 08:30 PM PST

Boris Johnson has been warned his new points-based immigration system must be 'simple' as he vowed to bring EU freedom of movement to an end by 2021.

Mr Johnson today used the Queen's Speech to commit to bringing forward laws which will finally deliver on pledges he made during the 2016 Brexit referendum to allow Britain to take full control of its borders.

The Immigration and Social Security Co-ordination (EU Withdrawal) Bill will formally stop free movement and allow the government to replace existing border control measures with Australian-style arrangements.

Rep. Mark Meadows to retire in 2020

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 07:30 PM PST

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) announced Thursday that he won't seek re-election in 2020.

Meadows is one of the visible House Republicans and one of President Trump's most loyal defenders on Capitol Hill. He becomes the 24th House Republican to announce his retirement in 2020, further complicating the GOP's path to regaining the chamber's majority next year.

Meadows contemplated leaving office for months, but he finalized his decision this week.

Trump floated Meadows' name when searching for a new chief of staff to replace John Kelly last December, but he ended up choosing Mick Mulvaney for the role.

Meadows has been suggested for the role again in recent months after reports that Trump is butting heads with Mulvaney.

Barr Says Comey Lying Over Attempt To Distance Himself From FBI Quagmire

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 07:00 PM PST

James Comey's claim that the FBI's Trump-Russia investigation was run "seven layers" below him is a total lie according to Attorney General William Barr, who said that the FBI's probe was actually handled by a "very small group of very high level officials."

To review, Comey told "Fox News Sunday" that as the director of the FBI, he was "seven layers" above the investigation, and that he left things to the career professionals when '17 serious errors' occurred which were later uncovered by the Inspector General.

Au contraire Comey

"The idea that this was seven layers below him is simply not true," Barr told Fox's Martha MacCallum in a Wednesday interview, adding "I think that one of the problems with what happened was precisely that they pulled the investigation up to the executive floors, and it was run and birddogged by a very small group of very high level officials."

Get the Hell Out of Afghanistan Now

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 06:30 PM PST

Surprising no one, recent revelations demonstrate that not only is Afghanistan a hopeless wreck but our glorious foreign policy elite has been lying about it for going on two decades. Remember, these people are our betters, our moral superiors, the people we should genuflect to and obey because of their wisdom and insights and credentials. And they are lying garbage people. If it wasn't for the ridiculous impeachment foolishness, maybe our country could focus on this endless disaster – and one that is still killing our best and our bravest.

Here's the bottom line. Donald Trump's instincts were right when he looked at this Seventh Century wasteland and asked (I'm paraphrasing), "What the hell are we doing still being here?"

We need to get out of Afghanistan yesterday. The 4K Trump's supposed to be pulling out soon should be the down payment. Bring our troops all home.

Trudeau Wants ‘Significant Penalties’ for Social Media ‘Hate Speech’

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 06:00 PM PST

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, recently made infamous over resurfaced blackface photos, has instructed his ministers to create new legislation aimed at tackling "hate speech" on social media.

The mandate letter, sent to Canada's Minister of Heritage, calls for legislation to be drawn up imposing "significant penalties" on social media companies that do not remove so-called hate speech within 24 hours.

The letter singles out "hate speech" for special attention, before moving on to other items like child exploitation and terrorism.

Create new regulations for social media platforms, starting with a requirement that all platforms remove illegal content, including hate speech, within 24 hours or face significant penalties. This should include other online harms such as radicalization, incitement to violence, exploitation of children, or creation or distribution of terrorist propaganda.

In another letter, sent to the Minister of Justice, instructs the Minister to work with his colleagues to combat "online hate:"

Liberal Virginia Prosecutors Spread Soros Project to DC Suburbs

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 05:30 PM PST

Parisa Dehghani-Tafti placed her left hand on her old law school textbook, "A Theory of Justice," from New York University as she was sworn in Monday evening as commonwealth's attorney for Arlington County, Virginia, and the neighboring city of Falls Church.

Dehghani-Tafti is one of three new progressive prosecutors seeking to "re-imagine" law enforcement in the Washington suburbs of Northern Virginia. The others are in nearby Fairfax and Loudoun counties.

"Prosecutors had plenty of discretion when they were white men, trying to make the system more harsh. That's the truth," Dehghani-Tafti said Tuesday at a panel discussion in Washington sponsored by a liberal think tank, the Center for American Progress.

Commonwealth attorneys are the chief prosecutors of crimes for local jurisdictions in Virginia. Elsewhere, the position often is called district attorney or state's attorney.

Left-wing billionaire George Soros began bankrolling the campaigns of local prosecutors across the country in 2016 and has continued to have success in electing liberals, often in larger cities. Of these three in Virginia, Soros reportedly was involved only in the campaigns in Fairfax and Arlington counties.

Socialist Democrat running for Congress says God should give Barack Obama 'the most malignant cancer'

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 05:00 PM PST

A Democratic socialist candidate running for Congress in Texas on Sunday wished a deadly cancer upon Barack Obama when criticizing his healthcare program, and claimed the former president 'gives zero f***s about y'all.'

Justin Lecea, who is running as a Democratic candidate for Texas' 20th district, issued the attack, calling Obama's presidency a 'waste,' after the former White House resident posted a tweet urging people to sign up for health coverage by the deadline Sunday.

'You can get the zen garden next week, but tomorrow is the last day to sign up for health coverage at HealthCare.gov,' Obama tweeted Saturday with a gif of him moving around the sand in a very miniature zen garden. 'Get covered today!'

The ACLU released a statement on Tuesday presenting their argument for accessible menstrual products in men's bathrooms to fully accommodate transgender and non-binary people.

'While free menstrual products are not uniformly provided in women's restrooms, they are almost never available in men's restrooms, even for pay,' the statement read.

Mid-Atlantic factory activity almost stalls

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 04:00 PM PST

The number of Americans filing applications for unemployment benefits dropped from more than a two-year high last week, pointing to sustained labor market strength.

While other data on Thursday showed factory activity in the mid-Atlantic region almost stalling this month, manufacturers received more orders, increased shipments and working hours for employees. Their outlook for capital expenditure over the next six months was also upbeat, offering some tentative signs of a turnaround in manufacturing amid an easing in tensions in the 17-month trade war between the United States and China.

The trade tensions bruised business confidence and weighed on capital expenditure, leading to a downturn in national manufacturing activity. But dark clouds continue to loom over manufacturing, which accounts for 11% of the economy. Boeing <BA.N> announced on Monday it would suspend production of its best-selling 737 MAX jetliner in January as fallout from two fatal crashes of the now-grounded aircraft drags into 2020.

Canada to US: Don't Sign China Deal until Canadians Released

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 03:30 PM PST

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday he has asked the United States to hold off on any final trade agreement with China until two Canadians detained in China have been released.

Beijing detained former diplomat Michael Kovrig and businessman Michael Spavor last December in an apparent attempt to pressure Canada to release Meng Wanzhou, a top executive at Chinese tech giant Huawei. The daughter of Huawei's founder was arrested last December at the request of U.S. authorities who want her on fraud charges.

In an interview with the French-language TV network TVA that aired Thursday, Trudeau said Canada has asked the Trump administration to use ongoing trade talks with China as leverage in securing the release of the two Canadians.

Dover Man Who Stole Fourteen Firearms Sentenced To 51 Months In Federal Prison

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 03:47 PM PST

WILMINGTON, Del. – United States Attorney David C. Weiss announced that Brandon Williams, 26, of Dover, was sentenced yesterday to 51 months in federal prison by Chief U.S. District Judge Leonard P. Stark. Williams previously pled guilty to stealing firearms from a Millsboro gun store and to the possession of a firearm by a person prohibited from possessing guns, due to Williams' prior felony conviction in Delaware state court.

According to court documents, Williams, 26, broke into Baker's Hardware, a federal firearm licensee, in Millsboro on May 5, 2017, and stole thirteen handguns and an AR-15-style rifle. Williams was arrested shortly after selling the stolen AR-15-style rifle in March 2019.

"The defendant's arrest occurred almost two years after he robbed a Millsboro business and stole over a dozen firearms. Patience, perseverance and collaboration with our state and local partners made the prosecution of this gun store robbery possible. We will not stop until those who place our community at risk by trafficking in stolen firearms are brought to justice," said U.S. Attorney Weiss.

"Offenders who steal from federally licensed gun dealers not only threaten the safety of our communities but they also victimize law-abiding businesses," said ATF Baltimore Special Agent in Charge Rob Cekada. "A firearm in the hands of someone with criminal intentions is a dangerous situation and ATF is committed to stopping the flow of illegal firearms onto our streets."

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Delaware State Police, and the Millsboro Police Department investigated this case, which was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jesse S. Wenger.

A copy of this press release is located on the website of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Delaware. Related court documents and information is located on the website of the District Court for the District of Delaware or on PACER by searching for Case No. 1:19-cr-62-LPS.

Attorney General William P. Barr Announces Launch of Operation Relentless Pursuit

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 03:47 PM PST

The Operation Will Surge Federal Law Enforcement Resources Into Seven of America's Most Violent Cities – Including Baltimore

Baltimore, Maryland - Today, Attorney General William P. Barr announced the launch of Operation Relentless Pursuit, an initiative aimed at combating violent crime in seven of America's most violent cities—including Baltimore—through a surge in federal resources.

Joined at a press conference in Detroit, Michigan, by ATF Acting Director Regina Lombardo, DEA Acting Administrator Uttam Dhillon, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and United States Marshals Service Director Donald W. Washington, Attorney General Barr pledged to intensify federal law enforcement resources into Albuquerque, Baltimore, Cleveland, Detroit, Kansas City, Memphis, and Milwaukee – seven American cities with violent crime levels several times the national average.

United States Attorney Robert K. Hur and Baltimore-based federal, state, and local law enforcement leaders announced their participation in the initiative in a press conference immediately following the Attorney General's.

"Americans deserve to live in safety," said Attorney General William P. Barr. "And while nationwide violent crime rates are down, many cities continue to see levels of extraordinary violence. Operation Relentless Pursuit seeks to ensure that no American city is excluded from the peace and security felt by the majority of Americans, while also supporting those who serve and protect in these communities with the resources, training, and equipment they need to stay safe."

"In spite of our efforts and achievements this year, violent-crime rates in our city remain stubbornly high," said U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur. "Law enforcement here in Baltimore is committed to working together every day get guns out of the hands of criminals and off of our streets, to reduce violent crime in our neighborhoods. The additional law enforcement personnel and funding provided by Attorney General Barr and the Department of Justice will help us work our way toward a safer Baltimore."

"ATF is wholly focused on violent crime, removing the most dangerous and prolific offenders from the streets of Baltimore City. Our collaborative efforts with local, state, and federal law enforcement and prosecutors is critical to ensuring we are successful," said ATF Baltimore Special Agent in Charge Rob Cekada. "Under Operation Relentless Pursuit, we will focus additional personnel and resources on our mission of identifying, investigating, and incarcerating Baltimore's violent criminals."

DEA Special Agent in Charge Jesse R. Fong stated, "The DEA is committed, along with our federal partners here today, to this great effort to stem the tide of violence and drug trafficking activities we have seen across Baltimore. This new synchronization of investigative efforts inherent to Operation Relentless Pursuit will better target, disrupt, and dismantle violent criminal organizations across the area to help keep our neighborhoods safer."

"The FBI is committed to pursuing those who commit violent crimes and threaten the safety of our communities. Together with our federal, state, and local partners, we have and will continue to pursue operations to bring violent criminals to justice," said FBI Special Agent in Charge Jennifer C. Boone. "Under the auspices of Operation Relentless Pursuit, we will collectively devote additional resources and efforts to attack the most violent offenders plaguing the city of Baltimore."

Maryland U.S. Marshal Johnny Hughes stated, "We are looking forward to doing what we do best striking fear in the hearts of evil locating and arresting these violent felons who prey on the innocent and helpless."

The Operation will involve increasing the number of federal law enforcement officers to the selected cities, as well as bulking up federal task forces through collaborative efforts with state and local law enforcement partners. The surge in federal agents will be complemented by a financial commitment of up to $71 million in federal grant funding that can be used by the seven selected cities to hire new officers, pay overtime and benefits, finance federally deputized task force officers, and provide mission-critical equipment and technology.

Researchers: US Economy in Longest Expansion Ever Under Trump

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 01:30 PM PST

For the first time ever, the U.S. economy started and ended an entire decade without a recession — the longest expansion in our history, researchers say.

The National Bureau of Economic Research found, as of December, the economy has expanded for a record 126 consecutive months, CNBC reported.

"It is unusual that this has been such a persistent recovery," Michelle Meyer, chief U.S. economist at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, told CNBC.

CNBC noted much of the expansion over the decade has been spent recovering from the so-called Great Recession of 2007-09.

Just a question

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 01:00 PM PST

I think you're old enough to remember Jimmy Carter's presidency.. an absolute disaster that clearly demonstrated his total incompetence as well as that of the whole Democrat party that was in place with him at the time backing his policies.

Do I remember correctly that in the next election the democrats got
routed so badly that they almost disappeared? Isn't that how it went?

I'm supposing that is what is ahead for 2020.. sometimes it is best to just let the Pelosis and Nadlers and Schumers 'have their moment' so that EVERYBODY can see for themselves what this is all about, and what these people really stand for.

I believe that almost everyone in this country (except for those few who are terminally stupid) have had about all they can stand of this
foolishness.

We shall soon see.

Smaller Class Size Doesn’t Always Benefit Students, Study Finds

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 12:30 PM PST

It's widely believed that smaller, more intimate, class sizes are better suited for student learning than larger classes. However, a new long-term study on math and science teaching trends finds that smaller class sizes don't necessarily always lead to higher grades and achievements. Ultimately, the research team say, the effect of class size on student performance is dependent upon a number of additional factors such as country, the subject being taught, and various cognitive and non-cognitive skills.

It's easy to understand why most believe smaller classes are the way to go. Fewer students in each class facilitates more individualized attention from teachers, and makes it easier for administrators to maintain a sense of control. Due to these reasons, various countries have instituted limits on how large classes can be, with many capping the number at around 30 students per class.

Still, prior research on this topic has largely yielded inconsistent findings, with some studies identifying clear benefits to smaller classes, while others haven't. Furthermore, most of this research was small in scope, focused primarily on only math or reading, and failed to consider the influence class size has on other non-academic or cognitive skills such as overall interest in the topic being taught and attentiveness.

So, in an effort to perform a comprehensive analysis on classroom size and subsequent learning, the research team used data originally collected via the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS).

Immigration Will Dramatically Shift The Electoral College In Favor Of Democrats, Study Finds

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 12:00 PM PST

A new analysis finds that immigration will dramatically reshape the Electoral College map in favor of the Democratic Party after completion of the 2020 U.S. Census.

Rising immigrant populations around the United States will result in several solidly Democratic states gaining more seats in the House of Representatives at the expense of solidly Republican states, a new study by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) finds. The shift will ultimately give the Democratic Party more influence in the Electoral College map, according to CIS.

As the 2020 Census approaches, CIS conducted a study to predict what the Electoral College map will look like after the counting is done. Under current policy, all individuals are included in the population count, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. Democratic states are expected to be bolstered with more congressional representation — thus giving them more influence in the Electoral College — thanks to their burgeoning immigrant populations.

James M. Bennett High School teacher, wife of mayor charged with misdemeanors

I've seen here and on Facebook people attacking me, (not that I care) saying this is a private mater and how dare I expose the Day Family. Well, it seems to be OK for the Daily Times, WBOC and WMDT, to do so FOUR DAYS LATER!

As I have sated time and time again. TEACHERS, POLICE OFFICERS AND CLERGY are to be held to higher standards. When and if they do something ILLEGAL the media has every right and even responsibility to expose it. So now you have to ask, WHY did it take four days and daily pressure from Salisbury News for your local media to expose it? Because they would've covered it up if it wasn't for Salisbury News.

So you commenters who choose to go after me for being first, bite me! Trust me, there's more to come with this story. Unless you're a rino cop, (Lewis) a liberal states attorney and a liberal judge.

Operation Fast and Furious: The Forgotten History of the ATF's Notorious Gunwalking Scandal

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 11:00 AM PST

The ATF isn't all bad. In fact, they had a policy of letting illegal gun purchases go between 2006 and 2011. It ended up getting U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry killed on December 14, 2010, and let Mexican criminals get enough guns that they were found at over 150 crime scenes where Mexican citizens were either killed or maimed. And some of the guns were used in the November 2015 terrorist attack in Paris at the Bataclan. But other than that, it turned out just fine.

(In case you're not picking up on it, we're laying on the sarcasm very thick right now.)

You probably know what was officially called "Project Gunrunner" as "Operation Fast and Furious." Started under George W. Bush, this ATF policy audaciously grew under President Obama and became indicative of the perceived attack on American gun owners by both policy makers and their friends in the establishment media.

It's one of many scandals of the Obama Administration that was never given as much press attention as, for example, Russia buying Facebook ads about NoFap and Pizzagate. Given that the guns run by the ATF were allowed to kill hundreds and that subsequent Congressional investigations resulted in Eric Holder, President Obama's Attorney General, becoming the first sitting cabinet member to be held in criminal contempt of Congress ever, this is shocking. At least for anyone still under the illusion that the establishment media is a fair and impartial source of information.

Sit down and get ready to dig into what is perhaps the most egregious scandal of President Drone's administration – and there's a lot to pick from.

Illness Linked to Death Is Tied to Hard-Boiled Eggs

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 10:00 AM PST

Pregnant women, people over the age of 65 and people with weakened immune systems should throw away store-bought hard-boiled eggs because of a food poisoning outbreak linked to a Georgia company and tied to at least one death, health officials said Thursday.

They said the same goes for products like egg salad that contain hard-boiled eggs.

Seven people in five states have been reported ill so far, including someone who died in Texas, officials said.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said peeled, hard-boiled eggs sold in bulk by Almark Foods are the outbreak's likely source. The eggs were sold to retailers and food service operators in plastic pails and could be used in products like salads. The company has four manufacturing facilities and delivers nationwide, according to its website.

Klein: Expel Adam Schiff over Ukraine Hoax

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:45 AM PST

As House Democrats disgrace themselves with their partisan vote to impeach President Donald Trump, it is Rep. Adam Schiff who should come under immediate investigation for possible expulsion over his role in perpetuating the Ukraine narrative targeting the president.

From the start, Schiff, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, offered seemingly conflicting accounts of his office's alleged contact with the so-called whistleblower, as well as the timing of his knowledge of the so-called whistleblower's complaint.

Schiff also infamously misrepresented Trump's phone call with Ukraine's president during a public hearing meant to justify the impeachment inquiry, thereby misleading the country in a manner that even CNN's "fact-checker" found to be egregious.

And in a scandal almost entirely ignored by the news media, a staffer for Schiff's House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence took a trip to Ukraine sponsored by a Burisma-funded think-tank just days after the so-called whistleblower officially filed his August 12 complaint after first interacting with Schiff's office.

WaPo, CNN Reporters Ripped For Celebrating ‘Impeachmas’ After Trump Impeachment

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:30 AM PST

A group of Washington Post reporters, several of whom are also CNN analysts, faced intense scorn online following Democrats' partisan impeachment of President Donald Trump after they posted a picture of themselves celebrating "impeachmas" over drinks.

House Democrats voted on Wednesday to, for the first time in history, impeach a president along strictly partisan lines, as no Republicans supported their effort and multiple Democrats defected and sided with the Republicans.

Left-wing Washington Post journalist Rachael Bade tweeted out a photograph of herself along with four of her colleagues — Paul Kane, Mike DeBonis, as well as Seung Min Kim and Karoun Demirjian, who are both paid CNN contributors along with Bade.

Bade tweeted, "Merry Impeachmas from the WaPo team!"

The tweet instantly went viral for all the wrong reasons, and numerous notable media analysts and political figures quickly weighed in on it by condemning the blatantly partisan celebration from a group of journalists that routinely portray themselves to be non-partisan.

Senator Lindsey Graham Says No Impeachment Court Case in the Senate – Is This Because He’s Trying to Protect Himself or Others from Corrupt Acts in the Ukraine?

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:15 AM PST

Senator Lindsey Graham told Sean Hannity he will call in corrupt liar Adam Schiff to testify before the US Senate on his sham impeachment proceedings. Lindsey Graham is a big talker but he has no desire to discover the truth.

This past week Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Maria Bartiromo he will end the impeachment process "as soon as possible."

Lindsey will not investigate liar Adam Schiff, or Eric Ciaramella, or the Biden Crime Family, or the Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election — he's determined to hide the Truth from the American public.

Lindsey Graham again on Wednesday defied President Trump and vowed to protect the Democrats and their deep state operatives.

US Deports Mexicans Far from Border, May Send Others to Guatemala

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:00 AM PST

The United States began flying Mexican deportees to the interior of Mexico on Thursday and a senior U.S. official said Mexicans seeking U.S. asylum could be sent to Guatemala, as the Trump administration seeks to further limit border crossings.

The flight carrying Mexican deportees from Tucson, Arizona, landed in Guadalajara around midday. One immigration shelter in the city said it had been informed of a likely influx of deportees.

U.S. President Donald Trump has made clamping down on unlawful migration a top priority of his three-year-old term in office and his looming 2020 reelection campaign.

John Sandweg, a former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement during the Obama administration, said the program would help stop Mexican migrants from simply crossing again once they had been deported.

California Blocks Release of Spending Records

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 08:30 AM PST

California is the only state in the country that has refused to reveal public spending records to a government watchdog, prompting threats of legal action.

OpenTheBooks.com, a nonprofit dedicated to government transparency, said the Golden State is the lone holdout since it began sending public record inquiries to state governments in 2013. Governments in 49 states have complied with requests for itemized accounts of taxpayer funds sent to vendors and public sector employees. California's state government, however, has so far failed to provide the details of the 49 million individual payments it makes each year using taxpayer dollars, saying it is unable to track and document its activities.

"Their excuse is that they can't locate the records—that their system doesn't allow the controller after she makes the payment to track the payment," OpenTheBooks.com founder Adam Andrzejewski told the Washington Free Beacon. "We are preparing to sue the State of California and force them to open their books."

Ilhan Omar is called an adulteress in court as her Democratic aide lover and his wife formally divorce

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 08:00 AM PST

Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was called an adulteress in divorce court Thursday by her lover's former wife as the couple formally ended their marriage.

Beth Jordan said she wanted to 'make a statement' about her husband Tim Mynett having an affair with the radical Democrat, during the 16-minute hearing in Washington D.C.

Mynett left the court after the hearing grinning and clapping his hands in glee. He said he was happy with the proceedings but would not comment further.

The hearing ended abruptly shortly after Jordan, 55, spoke publicly of 37-year-old Omar's affair with Mynett, 38. DailyMail.com first revealed the affair in July, a week after revealing that Omar had split from her husband.

Beth asked for her maiden name Beth Jordan to be restored. When asked why, she replied: 'I no longer want to have Mr. Mynett's name attached to me.'

GOP Governor Bill Lee Approves More Refugee Resettlement in Tennessee

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 07:30 AM PST

Republican Gov. Bill Lee has approved resettlement of more refugees in Tennessee for 2020, putting in jeopardy a high-profile lawsuit to stop refugee resettlement in the state.

For Fiscal Year 2020, President Donald Trump will continue cutting refugee admissions by reducing former President Barack Obama's refugee inflow by at least 80 percent. This reduction would mean a maximum of 18,000 refugees can be resettled in the U.S. between October 1, 2019, and September 30, 2020. This is merely a numerical limit and not a goal federal officials are supposed to reach.

Coupled with the refugee reduction, Trump signed an executive order that gives localities, counties, and states veto power over whether they want to resettle refugees in their communities.

On Wednesday, Lee sent a letter to the State Department where he said Tennessee would continue admitting refugees in the new year, caving to a lobbying effort by refugee contractors and pro-mass immigration groups with ties to billionaire George Soros.

"It's about money," Ann Corcoran, who blogs on the issue for Refugee Resettlement Watch told Breitbart News. "It's all about money — money for these contractors, money for these global corporations and then they hide under this humanitarian hat and claim it's all about doing good."

WAWA DATA BREACH 2019: HOW TO CHECK IF YOU HAVE BEEN AFFECTED

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 07:15 AM PST

Customers of retail chain Wawa could be at risk of fraud following a data breach that compromised payment systems.

Wawa, Inc. is a chain of convenience and fuel retail stores located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Florida. The company alerted consumers by letter that they were investigating and addressing a "data security incident" that hit its store locations. The open letter, attributed to Chris Gheysens, CEO of Wawa, explains that the company's IT security team discovered malware on the Wawa payment processing servers on December 10, 2019, and "contained" it by December 12, 2019.

"This malware affected customer payment card information used at potentially all Wawa locations beginning at different points in time after March 4, 2019 and until it was contained," says Gheysens. "At this time, we believe this malware no longer poses a risk to Wawa customers using payment cards at Wawa, and this malware never posed a risk to our ATM cash machines."

Ukrainian Oligarch Paid $700,000 To The Husband Of A House Judiciary Committee Democrat

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 06:52 AM PST

Robert Powell, the husband of Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, D-Fla., reportedly took $700,000 from a Ukrainian oligarch named Igor Kolomoisky. Mucarsel-Powell sits on the House Judiciary Committee, the committee that drafted two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump for his alleged abuse of power with regards to Ukraine.

In 2018, the Daily Beast reported that a number of businesses linked to Kolomoisky hired Powell as an attorney. One of those firms paid Powell at least $700,000 over two years, according to public records.

The Miami Herald reported Powell was working for companies tied to Kolomoisky for 10 years. Powell made most of his money in the two years leading up to his wife's election in 2018.

Here’s What the Formal 'Impeachment Inquiry' Has Cost Taxpayers So Far

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 06:30 AM PST

House Democrats spent at least $3 million of taxpayers' money in under three months pursuing the impeachment of President Donald Trump, counting the cost of lawyers and staff time spent readying for hearings, according to Heritage Foundation research.

The $3.06 million price tag for taxpayers of the formal impeachment inquiry so far includes the salaries of 106 congressional employees who largely didn't attend to normal duties from September through December.

It also includes the estimated hourly fees of six lawyers-of-record for witnesses who appeared during hearings, whether behind closed doors or public.

The total likely is a low estimate because it does not factor in overtime hours for U.S. Capitol Police when House hearings ran well into the late evening. The total also doesn't include the cost of executive branch expenses, travel costs for witnesses, or supplies and materials.

Man sentenced to 16 years in prison for burning church’s pride flag

An Iowa man was sentenced to serve 16 years behind bars after he tore down a rainbow flag symbolizing gay pride from the front of a church and burned it.

Adolfo Martinez, 30, was found guilty of a felony hate crime and third-degree harassment after he tore down the pride flag displayed in front of the United Church of Christ in Ames, Iowa. Martinez ripped down the flag and walked it over to Dangerous Curves Gentleman's Club, where police say he was a regular.

Martinez, who has two other felonies, received the maximum sentence of 16 years for his crimes because he was a habitual offender. When he committed the crimes in June, he told KCCI that he did it because he despises homosexuality.

Graham Slams 'Incredibly Dangerous' Pelosi For Dictating Impeachment Terms

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 06:07 AM PST

Sen. Lindsey Graham says House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's threat to withhold the House's two articles of impeachment is "incredibly dangerous" and ignores the separations of power statute.

After passing the two articles Wednesday night, Pelosi said in a Thursday presser that she plans to withhold them until the Senate holds a "fair" trial.

"The next thing for us will be when we see the process that is set forth in the Senate. Then we'll know the number of managers that we may have to go forward and who we would choose," she said. "But, in any event, we're ready, when we see what [the Senate has] we will know who and how many we will send over."

Sen. Bill Cassidy: Democrats Push Uncontrollably for Impeachment ‘Like a Puppy Urinating on the Floor’

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 06:00 AM PST

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) told Breitbart News during an exclusive interview Wednesday that, like an untrained puppy, Democrats could not contain themselves on impeachment and that the Senate will have to restore confidence in the American republic.

Sen. Bill Cassidy spoke to Breitbart News after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Democrats approved two articles of impeachment, charging President Donald Trump with abusing the office of the presidency and obstructing Congress.

The Louisiana senator said that Democrats merely wanted to find a reason to impeach the president, noting that they no longer accuse President Trump of bribery or a quid pro quo.

"Foregone conclusion," Sen. Cassidy said. "They were going to find a reason to do it. It's no longer bribery or quid pro quo; it's the fact that he actually appealed the congressional compunction to come in and testify."

"They hate Trump; they've been wanting to impeach him — they couldn't contain themselves. They're like a puppy urinating on the floor, I mean, they're so excited it's got to urinate. Now that they got it out, we get to hopefully restore a semblance of how the Republic should work in the Senate," Sen. Cassidy contended.

Salisbury Maryland Mayor Jake Day And Wife Struggle With Drug Issue At Home

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 12:56 PM PST

Four days ago I exposed a story about an elected official's spouse being terminated as a teacher and possible charges being filed against that person. Many have asked me to expose who and what and now I have done so.

Are we out to harm this Family, NO. However, I will not be a part of enabling them either. The matter at hand has to do with Liz Day, wife of Salisbury Mayor Jake Day, she allegedly purchasing prescription drugs from a female student. It's my understanding she will turn herself in to police today.

Look, almost every family is now dealing with, or have dealt with some sort of drug issue. I don't care how much money you have, it's in almost every walk of life, including my own home in the past. The difference is, it needs to be tackled head on and my hope for the Day Family is that EVERYTHING is brought to light in this case. The only way Liz can get back on track is to go to rehab and want to change her life for her children's sake first, then her husband.

Jake Day has a busy schedule and finds himself away from home a lot. It's my opinion his lifestyle needs to drastically change as Family comes first. His job doesn't require him to be at bars at night and I'm certain his lack of appearances will be respected and understood.

On another note, because of the close relationship, this case needs to be removed/transferred from Sheriff Mike Lewis and the Wicomico County State's Attorneys Office. There may be more to this situation that we'd never know about under a local investigation. The public is not going to stand and or trust this being handled locally. A crime has allegedly been committed, period. There needs to be a change of venue.

Finally, it does not please me to expose such information. I may not agree with Jake Day but as everyone should ultimately agree, this is about drugs and family. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Day Family as this is a very difficult and challenging time and NONE of you are immune to it. Join me in doing the same and show your support for healing.

Why Pelosi Plans To Delay Sending Impeachment Articles To The Senate

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 05:45 AM PST

Nancy Pelosi has suggested she will delay sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate in order for Democrats to build up more evidence against Trump and delay a swift acquittal.

Last night, the House voted along party lines to impeach Trump, a partisan move that enables Democrats to continually undermine and discredit Trump as the "impeached President."

However, with the effort virtually guaranteed to fall flat in the Senate, Democrats are planning to delay and drag the process in yet another underhanded stunt.

Following the impeachment vote, Pelosi said she would withhold the articles of impeachment until the Senate makes rules that she determines will be "fair" to the prosecution.
"We have legislation approved by the Rules Committee that will enable us to decide how we will send over the articles of impeachment," Pelosi told reporters Wednesday.

"We cannot name [impeachment] managers until we see what the process is on the Senate side."

She added that "so far, we haven't seen anything that looks fair to us" in the Senate.

Democrats' partisan impeachment violates the US Constitution

Posted: 20 Dec 2019 05:15 AM PST

This week, House Democrats sank to a new low in their taxpayer-funded witch hunt to impeach our duly elected president.

To quote constitutional expert and law professor Jonathan Turley, "a paucity of evidence and an abundance of anger" is behind the Democrats' impeachment vote.

None of the witnesses or evidence confirmed Democrats' allegations of quid pro quo, bribery, or extortion. Blinded by their hatred of President Trump, a majority of House Democrats ignored the facts and the role of the judicial branch in Article III of the U.S. Constitution. Based on broad, vague, and baseless articles of impeachment, which as written have no basis in statute or the Constitution, nearly every Democrat voted to impeach a duly elected president.

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D., S.C.) on Thursday called for holding back the articles of impeachment from the Senate if the outcome is "preordained" by Republicans.

"Are you suggesting it's possible you will never transmit the articles of impeachment?" CNN anchor John Berman asked.

"If it were me, yes, that's what I'm saying," Clyburn replied. "I have no idea what the speaker will do. But if you have a preordained outcome that's negative to your actions, why walk into it? I'd much rather not take that chance."
