SU: Inaction Equals Race Baiting Tolerance

Posted: 01 May 2016 06:15 AM PDT

By Thornton Crowe

Over the last week here on Salisbury News, there has been a debate fuming over the black students who drew a race baiting image on a whiteboard in one of Blackwell Library's study rooms. Many comments have conflicted over Salisbury University's mishandling of this criminal incident. (And yes, any time one does something to intentionally incite violence, it is a crime.) Since January, we have seen in the national news, many incidents where black people have purposefully tried to incite racial division and violence; victimizing white people. This has even occurred on college campuses by black students and alumni. The only difference is, those perpetrators face criminal charges while the SU students go unscathed for the time being.

Two examples are: Kayla-Simone McKelvey, a 24 year old alumni and self-proclaimed black activist for Black Lives Matters from Keane University has been charged for sending out death threat tweets to black students, posing as white students. Another at Albany University, where three students face charges for generating Fake Hate after claiming a racial attack on a bus, which drew national attention from people like Hillary Clinton whom rushed to judgment only to find the story was completely false.

In the latter article on the Gateway Pundit, it states the falsely accused:
"...student dropped out, likely because UAlbany isn't a safe environment while these racist and potentially violent students are allowed to terrorize the campus with the support of their biased university president."
In the racial tension environment we now live in, thanks much to DC politicizing and exploiting some of America's dark history, can we really afford to let black millennials get a way with hate crimes just because they're not white? Does this protect the communities college campuses operate in, if we let people try to incite a dangerous repeat of the Sixties? If you remember 1968, then you have a full understanding of the violence and rioting that comes along with escalated tensions.

By refusing to press charges, SU's president, Dr. Janet Dudley-Eschbach is not only enabling and fostering racial tension and race baiting, she is endangering the entire community. As seen by the two examples above, should charges be filed (which they should by all accounts,) it would not be without precedence as more universities and community leaders are holding black students accountable for this malfeasance every day. Yet, SU and  State Attorney, Matt Maciarello, have both placated and enabled these students to get away with a hate crime simply because they were black.

What could this mean in the bigger picture? 1968 revisited? Many students from SU have stated they were not aware of the situation and even when sent an email after the SbyNews article, much about the incident was omitted; like the race of the perpetrators. Hence, this poses a problem because black students will wrongfully assume white students were responsible. Conversely, the white students who have learned through word of mouth that it was drawn by black students will be equally upset for being 'framed' in a hate crime.  Additionally, the black students involved most likely boasted to their friends, "Look what we got away with and you can do it, too." Therefore, while some commenters on the earlier posts may think it's a small thing - a crude picture on a whiteboard - this can metamorphose into many actions when left unchecked. Retaliation violence historically follows up incidents like this where administrators omit or misinform student bodies and surrounding community.

Many community leaders and prominent business people like the Perdue, Guerrieri and Fulton families, have donated millions to SU so students of all races can gain an education. Many of these donors come from the Radicals' so-called, White Privilege. They, too, should be equally outraged as their names adorn the buildings at a campus known for its race baiting tolerance. Perhaps it is time for them to stand up against SU's policy of propagating hate. Other actions for citizens is to complain to the Board of Regents with the University System of Maryland, an organization whom can hold SU's administration accountable to rectify the situation before it becomes a more major issue for every citizen to endure.

Unfortunately, SU's attempt at damage control to prevent perspective students, parents and those in the Salisbury community from hearing about this incendiary situation has failed miserably as other news outlets have begun reporting the story. This will no doubt be far more damaging to the school's brand than any prosecutorial action.

Does the Salisbury University Alumni want their alma mater to be blemished by this type of complacency? Why would quality professors want to work in an academic environment that promotes hate through silence? Is this how we want Salisbury to be viewed by the rest of the world? Enablers of racial discrimination and race baiting?

I would hope my fellow citizens would understand the potential danger posed by non-action and find it unacceptable from any entity in our community - especially the university that proclaims diversity.

How say you?

NO CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST BLACK STUDENTS AT SALISBURY UNIVERSITY: UPDATE

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

One has to wonder if it were white students, how much jail time would they have received. Implying "White Power" should have been enough to file charges.

The local NAACP has been challenging law enforcement in recent years and the States Attorneys Office for being to hard on blacks.

What's your opinion and keep it clean or your comment will be rejected.

More

UPDATE: I have spoken with States Attorney Maciarello and he makes an excellent point. Every manila envelope that crosses his desk has NO COLOR.

In this case he stated that there were originally 6 students being questioned. It was eventually broken down to two. However, they do not, (at this time) have enough evidence to charge one of the two. Now, some of you might say, how convenient. Look, I know Matt well enough to know that the man doesn't play games. IF further evidence comes forward and a single individual can in fact be charged, they will do so.

On another note, what exactly do you charge them with. I'd love to have a lawyer come forward and hear what their thoughts are on such charges.

Salisbury Hate Crime Goes National: ‘HATE CRIME’ INVESTIGATION OF NOOSE DRAWING LEADS TO TWO BLACK STUDENTS

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

After realizing it was two black students who drew the picture, they decided not to press criminal charges.

When Salisbury University police discovered that someone drew a stick figure hung by a noose on the school library's whiteboard, they launched a hate crime investigation.

But after realizing it was two black students who drew the picture – which showed the hangman crying, included the N-word with an arrow pointed at the stick figure, as well as the message #whitepower – they decided not to press criminal charges, The Delmarva Daily Times reports.

English Associate Professor James King told The SU Flyer that the school's investigation identified the students responsible for the racist drawing, which was originally discovered April 10.

"I confirm two students have been identified," he said, "and are both African American."

The Daily Times Editorial Staff Just Doesn't Get It, On Purpose?

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

"It already has been decided that they won't face criminal charges, which seems lenient".

"What it really was, and what nobody has said publicly, is that it was painful"

Well, when you publish such a story/editorial and you only get ONE comment and you conveniently refuse to tell your readers that such mentioned comments in the HUNDREDS are on Salisbury News and are in fact public, that explains a lot.

When you refuse to INVESTIGATE as to WHY they "won't face charges" you'll come to learn that Maciarello and Lashley stated they won't face charges, "AT THIS TIME".

Considering this is a Main Stream Media source, it amazes me that they have conveniently left out quite a bit to this story and sensationalized it in the hope of garnishing a reaction from the public. HOWEVER, there's only ONE comment as of 8:30 this morning for an article/editorial that went public yesterday morning.

Perhaps the public is finally getting wise to the fact that the Daily Times is now worthless, seriously. I mean, if you can't garnish a strong REACTION on a very public story, well, that's really bad and speaks volumes. It is also unfortunate that the little amount of their viewers don't know the whole truth because the Daily Times failed to deliver it.

As I have explained in several comments, Maciarello cannot file charges against these two individuals. It is out of his hands UNTIL Lashley actually charges the suspects. Once they are charged, (if ever) it then falls into the States Attorneys hands. Until then, Maciarello is smart to remain silent on this matter.

If you want to express opinions you need to do so towards Salisbury University and their Police Department and not the States Attorneys Office.

Wicomico County States Attorney Matt Maciarello Speaks Out About Salisbury University "Racist Drawing"

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

Being ethical and following the law is being confused with "leniency." SU Police could not identify the person who drew the picture out of two in the room. There are problems beyond that with charging a crime in this matter, but the inquiry really begins and ends with the fact that the police, and therefore the State, cannot prove who drew the offensive picture.

At our office, we look at the evidence and we look at the law when we provide advice on charging. When the police do not know who may have committed an act it is not legal or ethical to recommend charging. (There is also no evidence that this was a conspiracy or that multiple individuals could be criminally responsible as accomplices).

There are times when the State shows true discretion or mercy, but this is not one of those times. Our inaction when it comes to charging is commanded by the law and ethics-not race or any other factor.

I'm So Disappointed in Our Eastern Shore Republicans And Governor

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

With the exception of Mr. Mark McIver, our elected Republican Party representatives were a no show when Presidential Candidate Donald Trump came to Berlin, Maryland. Mr. McIver had the best statement I've heard in many years. He said, I don't care if Ted Cruz comes to the Shore, I represent the Republican Party and I will be there to welcome him too.
Donald Trump brought together some 10,000 people to share his views and platform, which was received with great applause.
When I spoke with several elected officials after Mr. Trump had left our area, many stated they were at another event that conflicted with Trumps visit.

I've been doing this for a lot of years Ladies & Gentlemen and I have attended many political events. I have witnessed multiple times an elected official make their speech and respectfully excuse themselves to attend another event.

Governor Hogan has publicly stated that he does not support any of the candidates running for President. OK, I get that and I respect his position. However, this isn't about who he supports. Larry Hogan is the GOVERNOR of Maryland who represents all of us. Like Mr. McIver showed his respect, Governor Hogan, (in the very least) should have at least welcomed Mr. Trump as he arrived at the Salisbury Airport and our State of Maryland.

This is the very first time I have been disappointed in Governor Hogan and I truly believe it is actions like this that are destroying the Republican Party.

Now I can tell you that I stood in the V.I.P. line for hours and not one elected official outside Mark McIver from Wicomico County was present. If I am to be corrected please do so in comments. I did see Mr. Steve Hershey and candidate Chris Chaffee from PG County.

Our Republican Representatives need to respect ALL candidates. I'm confident the Poultry Industry would understand the fact that this once in a lifetime event could have been divided between the two events. Hopefully this article will change their way of thinking in the future.

Berlin Police Make Untaxed Cigarette Bust

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

BERLIN — Berlin Police seized nearly 13,000 packs of unstamped, untaxed cigarettes valued at over $83,000 following a routine traffic stop on Monday.

On Monday, a Berlin Police officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 113 near Burley Street. According to police reports, the driver appeared to be extremely nervous and presented suspicious behavior to the officer during the initial contact.

The officer noticed a bed of the vehicle contained a large amount of cigarettes and a K-9 team for the Worcester County Sheriff's Office was called to assist with the investigation. The Maryland Comptroller's Office was also contacted to conduct a joint investigation with the Berlin Police Department.

The joint investigation revealed 1,292 cartons of unstamped, untaxed cigarettes, which translated into 12,920 packs of smokes. The value of the cigarettes was determined to be $83,334, representing a tax loss of $25,840 to the state of Maryland.

Here are TWO Similar Stories To The Salisbury University Racial incident, Both Deans Fired

U. Missouri president, chancellor resign over handling of racial incidents

After weeks of escalating student protests and the threat of a football team boycott, the president of the University of Missouri system resigned Monday, forced out amid complaints that he had done too little to address racism and other ugly incidents on campus.

Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin — who oversees the university's main campus in Columbia, Mo. — also will step down, the university system's governing body, the Board of Curators, announced Monday evening. Loftin plans to leave his position at the end of the year and move to a new role within the university as director for research facility development.

The unseating of two of the university's top leaders was a swift victory for student activists, who had been railing against what they see as a divisive racial climate on the midwestern campus. They have accused Missouri's president, Tim Wolfe, of not addressing racist and bigoted incidents this academic year, including when the undergraduate student body president was called the n-word, when a white student climbed onto a stage and shouted slurs as a black group rehearsed a skit, and more recently when a swastika was drawn on a wall with human feces.

Ithaca College president resigns after protests over race issues

After months of protests and no-confidence votes by students and faculty this fall, Ithaca College's president announced Thursday that he would step down in July 2017.

Student protesters, angered by what they felt was an insufficient response to racist incidents on campus, have been calling for Tom Rochon's resignation with "die-ins" and other events, mirroring demonstrations over race and bias incidents on many campuses across the country in recent months. From Yale to Claremont McKenna to Princeton to Towson, students marched, occupied administration offices, and presented lists of demands.

At the University of Missouri, the system president and the university chancellor resigned after protests all but paralyzed the public university's campus, and students at many universities began or amplified their efforts to make changes. The day after that resignation, Rochon, Ithaca's president, announced he was creating a chief diversity officer position, but hundreds of students gathered, shouting "no confidence!"

Ireton Feels ‘Gerrymandered’ After Primary Defeat For Congress

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

SALISBURY — As the final numbers came in for the Democratic side of Maryland's 1st Congressional district primary on Tuesday night, Salisbury's former Mayor Jim Ireton says he could do nothing else but let out a slightly ironic chuckle.

"I had to laugh because it was less that I lost, and more that I was completely gerrymandered," he said in a phone interview on Wednesday morning.

Despite winning the Eastern Shore vote by a convincing margin, Ireton lost the primary to Harford County attorney Joe Werner by less than four percentage points and a little more than 2,000 votes.
"I will go down as the veteran politician from the shore who campaigned hard and lost to a guy who practically didn't even leave his house the entire campaign," said Ireton. "We outworked a lot of other politicians in the state and raised over $36,000 and came within two points of winning the most gerrymandered district in the state and arguably one of the most gerrymandered districts east of the Mississippi River."

Still, Ireton was sure to assert that his disappointment shouldn't be interpreted as bitterness despite coming up short in the primary and missing out on the race that he coveted against Republican incumbent in District 1, Andy Harris.

"I'm retaining and incredible sense of humor about the whole thing, but I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that I had to meet so many new people in and around the shore and throughout District 1," said Ireton. "It was truly one of the best experiences of my life, and all that time in the car campaigning was well worth it, but yeah, it's still a bummer in the end."

A 2014 Washington Post study named Maryland and North Carolina as the two most gerrymandered states in the nation, and pointed out that "Maryland is proof that gerrymandering is not just a Republican pastime," pointing to the fact that a Democratic majority redrew the district lines in 2012, especially making District 1 a Republican stronghold.

Congressman Harris told The Dispatch in an interview last month "The first congressional district is not a liberal district. It was drawn by the Democrats in the legislature to be a conservative district."

Take Away The Phone Spoofs And Rigged Elections, Jim Ireton Finally Sees Reality

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

Jim Ireton Loses To A Guy Who Didn't Even Run A Campaign. Clearly the people of Maryland are showing through votes they are sick and tired of these LGBT candidates. Elected officials shoved so many new laws down our throats last session, gay marriage, rain tax and so many other laws the majority firmly disagree with, things like Ireton are nothing more than liberal freaks.

Joe Werner didn't answer your call last night Jimmy because I phone spoofed him under your phone number, acted like I was you and asked him out on a date. I told him I wanted to squeeze him with my eyes and he freaked out and hung up.

Karma is a bitch. Welcome to the other side Jimmy.

Senate Race in Maryland Exposes Democratic Party’s Fissures

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

Maryland Rep. Donna Edwards lost a bitter fight for the state's vacant Senate seat Tuesday night, forecasting expanding cracks in the Democratic party as the 2016 election remains unexpectedly competitive.

Edwards, a black single mom, fell to seven-term Rep. Chris Van Hollen despite record-high voter turnout among African Americans in the state. A victory would have positioned Edwards as the first black senator to represent Maryland in the chamber and the second black woman to serve in the U.S. Senate.

In a polarizing concession speech, Edwards ripped on the left for failing to back a woman of color.

"To my Democratic Party, let me say today: Maryland is on the verge of having an all-male delegation in a so-called progressive state," Edwards said. "When will the voices of people of color; when will the voices of women; when will the voice of labor; when will the voices of black women; when will our voices be effective, legitimate, equal leaders in a big-tent party?"

Van Hollen is expected to defeat his Republican challenger Kathy Szeliga in November as the two compete for Sen. Barbara Mikulski's seat, who is retiring after 30 years in the chamber.

Lawmakers have criticized Edwards as a polarizing figure who is "difficult" to work with and "ineffective." She hit back during a press call Friday, accusing her Democratic colleagues of sounding the racial "foghorn."

"I thought the Republican Party was full of dog whistles but the Democratic Party has a foghorn," she told reporters.

No Press Releases from WCSO in 12 days...

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

Twelve Days have now passed and the local media gets nothing. Well, that's not exactly true. WBOC is getting all of their press releases, proven once again yesterday where the WCSO sent them a release on a DUI charge in Delmar. I truly thought you were not only better then that Mike, I had always thought you were far from a politician. I was wrong.

Careful Folks, (neighbors of WorWic) the WBOC Helicopter is probably parked in Mike's back yard now. LOL

Return D.C. to Maryland

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

The District of Columbia has been talking for years about statehood and recently indicated it will hold a referendum with a view to petitioning the government for statehood ("DC mayor wants a new vote on statehood in November," April 15). I believe Maryland should oppose this vigorously. A better idea would be to retrocede the land to Maryland. There is precedent for this action. The portion of the nation's capital ceded by Virginia in 1790 was retroceded in 1846.

Many consider the land area and population of the District of Columbia to be too small to make a viable state. Rhode Island, 18 times larger than D.C., already suffers from such a reputation. In addition, the land comprising the district was once a small part of Prince George's County. To make that area the equal of the entire state of Maryland, potentially able to cancel out Maryland's voice entirely, is to me unthinkable and entirely unfair. It is inconceivable to me that Maryland would give up land without a solid reason.

Retrocession would give the citizens of D.C. all the political rights that other Americans enjoy. I would suggest that Washington be incorporated by the state in a manner similar to that of Baltimore. This would give the citizens home rule, including the election of a city council and a mayor. It would take away the ability of Congress to thwart the decisions of the local government. In addition, the citizens of Washington would participate in the elections of presidents, representatives and senators in the same manner as all other citizens of our nation.

Verizon claims sabotage on network and cables

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

Verizon says equipment sabotage spiked in the wake of a strike by Verizon workers, now entering its third week.

Thousands of Verizon customers have been cut off from "critical services" because of "criminals" who have "damaged or destroyed critical network facilities," according to an announcement last week. That announcement came after a Verizon union went on strike on April 13.

Specific incidents mentioned by Verizon include "Sliced fiber optic cabling" at a network facility in New Jersey that cut off services to customers including police and fire departments and an incident in Massachusetts where phone services were cut off for 16 hours. The cutting of fiber optic and copper cables also occurred in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York, which brought down both voice and internet connectivity.

Target Boycott Crosses 1 Million Signers, Stock Sinks by $1.5 Billion

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

More than 1,000,000 people have signed the boycott pledge against Target, following the secretive decision by executives to open all of their stores' bathrooms and changing rooms to people of both sexes.

Late Thursday night, roughly 75 people a minute were adding their name to the petition as it clicked over 1 million, just after 10:30 pm Eastern Time.

"That's a million families who are going to spread the word about Target, so they may not get those customers back," or their money, said Tim Wildmon, president of the American Family Association, which has hosted the boycott.

Target's "management is just going to have step up here [and] say 'We're selling hammers and hats, we're not into social engineering,'" he said.

BREAKING: Cruz to Make Major Announcement at 4pm

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

Per CNBC, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is going to make a "major announcement" at 4pm today:

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz said he will make a major announcement at 4 p.m. on Wednesday but gave no other details.

Cruz's campaign has begun hinting that he could name a vice presidential running mate as soon as this week, a move that would seek to consolidate more Republican support and create an image that he will be the nominee. Former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, who made a failed presidential bid, is among the potential picks being vetted.

Donald Trump, pressing his point that he views the nominating race as essentially finished, criticized that as a potential Cruz pick. "I think it would be a bad choice, not because she's a woman but because she did not resonate at all with people."

Will Cruz name Fiorina VP? Will he announce he's dropping out? What do you think he should do?

Maryland State Trooper Charged With Assaulting Arrestee

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

(BEL AIR, MD) – A Maryland state trooper has been arrested subsequent to a Grand Jury indictment charging him with assault on a man being arrested following a pursuit on I-95 in Harford County last fall.

The trooper is identified as Trooper Matin (sic) M. Dunlap, 25. He is charged with one count of first degree assault, three counts of second degree assault, and two counts of misconduct in office. Dunlap was indicted yesterday by a Harford County Grand Jury after investigative information was presented by the Harford County State's Attorney's Office. Dunlap turned himself in to State Police investigators at the Bel Air Barrack just before 1:00 p.m. today. After processing, he had an initial appearance before a court commissioner and was released on $1,000 bond.

The victim of the assault is identified as Dennis M. D. Donoghue, 55, of Riverdale, Md. Donoghue was the driver and sole occupant of a Chevrolet Captiva that fled from Dunlap and other troopers attempting to stop it on I-95 at about 11:30 p.m. on October 22, 2015.

The investigation was conducted by the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division Northern Region. The investigation began the day after Donoghue's arrest, when complaints were received from state troopers who were involved in the arrest after he was stopped.

The investigation found Donoghue was stopped on the right shoulder of northbound I-95 near White Marsh. Trooper Dunlap was assigned to the JFK Highway Barrack and was working patrol in a marked car when he spotted the stopped vehicle and pulled up behind it. As the trooper walked up to the stopped car to check on the occupant, the driver, later identified as Donoghue, accelerated away. Dunlap called the barrack and began to follow the vehicle with his emergency equipment activated.

Donoghue turned off his vehicle lights and continued north on I-95, refusing to pull over and stop. Additional troopers joined the pursuit. Donoghue was not driving at excessive speed, but was driving with his lights out and ignoring the emergency lights and sirens of the patrol cars. During the pursuit, Donoghue's car collided with a marked patrol car driven by a supervisor from the JFK Barrack.

Troopers deployed stop sticks that successfully deflated tires on the car. Donoghue's vehicle stopped along I-95 north, south of Belcamp.

The investigation found a trooper first class and a corporal who had been in the pursuit were the first to reach Donoghue and get him out of his car. They reported he was not fighting them, but was passively resisting and they were not immediately able to get him handcuffed.

While they were attempting to handcuff Donoghue, who was lying on the ground, the troopers reported Trooper Dunlap intervened and began jabbing the man repeatedly in the abdomen and side with a metal expandable baton. He also struck and injured the hand of one of the troopers trying to handcuff the driver.

The investigation found a State Police corporal grabbed Dunlap's expandable baton in an attempt to stop him from striking Donoghue. The corporal reported the trooper pulled the baton away and continued to jab Donoghue. A State Police sergeant arriving at the scene forcibly pushed Trooper Dunlap away from Donoghue and ended the assault.

Donoghue did not request or require medical treatment according to troopers who arrested him. He was taken to the Harford County Detention Center.

Troopers who witnessed the actions of Trooper Dunlap reported what they saw to barrack command staff that night and the criminal investigation began the next morning. Dunlap was suspended with pay and assigned to administrative duties when the criminal investigation began.

State Police criminal investigators presented their completed investigation to Harford County State's Attorney Joe Cassilly. The evidence was presented to a Harford County Grand Jury and the indictment was issued.

Subsequent to his arrest today, Dunlap has been suspended without pay. He has been employed by the Maryland State Police since July 2013. The Maryland State Police Internal Affairs Unit is also investigating the actions of Trooper Dunlap.

Cruz announces Fiorina as choice for running mate

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

Ted Cruz, looking for a shake-up in the 2016 race as Donald Trump moves steadily closer to the Republican nomination, on Wednesday announced former GOP primary rival Carly Fiorina as his choice for running mate should he win the party nod.

Speaking during an afternoon rally in Indianapolis a day after he was swept by front-runner Trump in five primary contests, Cruz announced his decision to cheers and chants of "Carly! Carly!"

"After a great deal of time and thought, after a great deal of consideration and prayer, I have come to the conclusion that if I am nominated to be president of the united states that I will run on a ticket with my vice presidential nominee Carly Fiorina," Cruz said.

Campaign Mystery: Why Don't Bernie Sanders' Big Rallies Lead To Big Wins?

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

If you only considered crowd size at rallies for Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, you might wonder how Clinton has won so many big states. Sanders draws massive, enthusiastic crowds, while Clinton's rallies often seem tiny and subdued by comparison.

Monday night, the eve of five East Coast primaries taking place today, Sanders spoke to an overflow crowd — 3,200 people in total — at Drexel University in Philadelphia. His audience was more than double the crowd that showed up to hear Hillary Clinton speak at Philadelphia's city hall.

On Sunday, 14,000 were there for Sanders in New Haven, Conn.

6,600 in Baltimore, Md., on Saturday.

And 27,000 people came to hear Sanders in Manhattan's Washington Square Park a week before New York's crucial primary.

Jane Fonda & Montana Restaurant

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

Some of you may know all or most of this story and some will have no idea what this woman was really all about.
The radio station America FM was doing one of its 'Is Anyone Listening?' bits this morning.
The first question was; 'Ever have a celebrity come up with the 'Do you know who I am?  routine?'
A woman called in and said that a few years ago, while visiting her cattle rancher uncle in Billings, MT. she had occasion to go to dinner at a  restaurant that does not take reservations.
The wait was about 45 minutes.
Many local ranchers and their wives were waiting.
Ted Turner and his ex-wife Jane Fonda came in the restaurant and wanted a table.
The hostess informed them that they'd have to wait 45 minutes.
Jane Fonda asked the hostess, 'Do you know who I am?'
The hostess answered, 'Yes, but you'll have to wait 45 minutes.'
Then Jane asked if the manager was in. When the manager came out, he asked, 'May I help you?'
'Do you know who we are?' both Ted and Jane asked.
'Yes, but these folks have been waiting, and I can't put you ahead of them.'
Then Ted asked to speak to the owner. The owner came out, and Jane again asked, 'Do you know who I am?'
The owner answered, 'Yes, I do.  Do you know who I am? I am the owner of this restaurant and I am a Vietnam Veteran. Not only will you not get a table ahead of my friends and neighbor's who have been waiting here, but you also will not be eating in my restaurant tonight or any other night.  Good bye.'
To all who received this, this is a true story and the name of the steak house is:
                       Sir Scott's Oasis Steakhouse
                       204 W. Main,
                       Manhattan, MT59741

Obama: 'We Are Fortunate to Be Living in the Most Peaceful...Era in Human History'

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

(CNSNews.com) - President Barack Obama, speaking in Germany on Monday, said we're fortunate to be living in the "most peaceful" era in human history.

"I want to begin with an observation that, given the challenges that we face in the world and the headlines we see every day, may seem improbable but it's true. We are fortuate to be living in the most peaceful, most prosperous, most progressive era in human history," he said.

"That may surprise young people who are watching TV or looking at your phones," he said, "and it seems like only bad news comes through every day, but consider it's been decades since the last war between major powers."

Many Voters Upset Over Lack Of Paper Ballot Confirmation

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

It amazes me that with today's technology, our system can be so stupid.

This is simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Man Accused of Peeping in Women’s Restroom Also Faces Child Porn Charges

Posted: 01 May 2016 05:00 AM PDT

A Pennsylvania man who was arrested for taking photos of a 10-year-old girl in a public restroom has now also been hit with child porn charges, police report.

Quarryville, PA, resident James Thomas Shoemaker, 19, was arrested last week when he was found hiding in a stall of the woman's bathroom in the Sheetz store on Manheim Pike. Police said he was taking images of young girls on his cell phone.

The arrest comes as progressives step up their judicial and media push to force American adults and youths to share all of their public bathrooms and changing rooms with the small number of people who try to live and look like people of the opposite sex. In mid-April, for example, Target stores announced they would only allow mixed-sex changing rooms and toilets. On April 21, media outlets claimed that Donald Trump supported the progressive campaign to eliminate single-sex bathrooms.

In fact, Trump backs the current live-and-let-live policy favored by most Americans, in which they willingly tolerate the quiet use of normal bathrooms by people of the opposite sex.
