Posted: 06 May 2016 01:05 AM PDT Here are a couple of retail industry snippets I stumbled across whilst galavanting around the City (of London) today looking for stories. First of, it would appear the sale of handbag maker Radley is progressing, with bids said to have been submitted last week. Word is private firms Change Capital - whose partners include former Marks & Spencer bosses Roger Holmes and Luc Vandevelde - and Graphite Capital have been participating in the auction although it's not clear who the winner will be. Change Capital and Graphite Capital both declined to comment. In case you don't recall, private equity firm Exponent appointed Cavendish Corporate Finance last year to sell Radley, which is now run by Justin Stead. And elsewhere in the retail sector, I'm told by sources involved in the BHS auction/administration process that there is at least one bidder other than Mike Ashley/Sports Direct International that has submitted an "all cash offer" (whatever that means) for BHS. Again, it's not clear who that bidder is and whether it will be picked as the winner of the sale process. |
