President Trump is protecting Medicare for America’s seniors

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:30 PM PDT

Today, President Donald J. Trump traveled to The Villages, Florida, outlining how he will protect Medicare for our Nation's seniors. In doing so, he offered a clear contrast to Congressional Democrats' socialist takeover vision for the public.

A message to America's seniors: "No one will lay a hand on your Medicare benefits."

"I made you a sacred pledge that I would strengthen, protect, and defend Medicare for our senior citizens," President Trump said. "Today, I will sign a historic executive order that does exactly that: We are making your Medicare even better—and we are not letting anyone take it away."

The newly signed Executive Order will improve service to American seniors in many ways. First, it will empower patients by giving them more plan choices, more access to new therapies, and more time with providers. It will also maximize freedom for patients and providers by reducing regulatory burdens and eliminating unnecessary barriers.

But most important, it will improve the fiscal sustainability of Medicare overall, ensuring that it will always be there for those who need it most.

In the Sunshine State alone, more than 4.5 million people are currently enrolled in Medicare. Today's announcement was just the latest bit of welcome news for Floridians as part of the President's economic agenda for working Americans. More than 550,000 jobs have been added there since the election, and the state's unemployment rate has been reduced from 4.7 percent to 3.3 percent.

"Medicare is under threat like never before. Almost every major Democrat in Washington has backed a massive government healthcare takeover that would obliterate Medicare."

The left's "Medicare-for-All" vision is a dangerous proposal, to put it lightly, threatening to end the Medicare program as we know it and eliminate choice for America's seniors. If it is ever implemented, the end result would be Medicare-for-none.

Democrats lied about Obamacare then. They're lying about Medicare-for-All now.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder believes that the 2020 presidential election may be a difficult one because he believes Republicans will "cheat."

Holder, who served in former President Barack Obama's administration, spoke on "The Breakfast Club" radio show where he made the claim.

"It's going to be hard because the reality is that Republicans are going to cheat," he said of Democrats' chances in 2020, adding, "They're going to try to keep people away from the polls. They're going to move polling places. They're going to do a whole variety of things."

'This is offensive!': Math problem that compares girls' weights angers student, parent

A fourth-grader at a Utah elementary school says a problem on her math homework was offensive.

The math problem compared girls' weights, KSTU reports.

"I didn't like that because girls shouldn't be comparing each other. I know it was a math problem … but I don't think that was really OK," 9-year-old Rhythm told KSTU.

The question read as follows: "The table to the right shows the weight of three Grade 4 students. How much heavier is Isabell than the lightest student?"

Animal cruelty charges filed after man seen beating dog

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:00 PM PDT

Police arrested Jordan E. Brokus, 22, of Parkville, Maryland, after city surveillance footage showed him brutally beating his dog last Friday.

According to the police report, Brokus was walking his dog, a two-year-old boxer/lab mix named Stone, along Caroline Street and the Boardwalk.

In the video, Brokus kicked Stone in the rib cage twice, before grabbing the dog by his collar, lifting him in the air and strangling him, police said.

The officer said Brokus then slammed his dog on the ground, and began choking him.

The video then showed Stone pulling himself out of his collar, and running away from Brokus. However, Brokus' girlfriend appeared to call for the dog, which obediently returned.

Siberian Trash Dump Becomes A Medieval Fortress

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:30 PM PDT

Siberian rubbish dump staff have turned their workplace into a marvelous medieval tourist attraction.

Garbage dumps and trash heaps are generally not regarded as potential tourist attractions and most of us avoid them at all costs fearing diseases and seagull attacks. But a landfill site in the Siberian town of Irkutsk has been converted into a remarkable medieval fortress and it's stunning stricture holds shades of a Robin Hood play crossed with a post- apocalyptic Mad Max type movie.

Tons of scrap metals have been hammered, welded and polished into an army of dozens of knights and horses who line up guarding the fortress' gates and fences. The site continues to serve as an operating trash dump but doubles up as what a report in The Metro call a free open-air museum , and the dump director, Aleksandr Rastorguev, says he was inspired after noticing lots of washing machines and heating appliances like electrical irons, and one day it came to him to do something with these items - something with a "historical theme".

Governor Hogan Begins Demolition of the Baltimore City Detention Center

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:00 PM PDT

Former Jail Will Be Home to New Treatment Facility
ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today began the demolition of the dangerous and outdated Baltimore City Detention Center (BCDC) that his administration closed in 2015. The former jail will be replaced by a new treatment center that will house 1,400 pretrial and sentenced people who are struggling with addiction and mental health issues.
"After years of working with the local community, we are removing some of the non-historically significant vacant buildings, and we will finally bring to an end the long, ugly history of deplorable conditions at this jail," said Governor Hogan. "Just as important as this demolition work will be the transformative facility that we will build in its place. This site, which was long a source of embarrassment and shame for the city and our state, will now become a beacon of hope where those struggling with addiction can get the help they need to heal, to recover, and to turn their lives around."
image
In June 2019, the Board of Public Works approved a $27.5 million contract to demolish 39 structures at the 8-acre campus that includes the closed portions of BCDC. Many of the buildings that comprise the BCDC correctional complex were erected prior to the Civil War, and most are now slated for demolition.
"Governor Hogan's leadership in closing this facility and today's actions of beginning to demolish it mark a new beginning for design and construction of a purpose built treatment facility that will help countless families break the cycle of addiction," said Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Secretary Robert L. Green.
image
On July 30, 2015, just months after taking office, Governor Hogan announced that he was keeping his promise to shut down the antiquated facility, which had a long history of corruption and appalling conditions. BCDC had far pre-dated modern penal facility standards and practices that made its blind corners, dark corridors, and other hazardous conditions extremely dangerous. Just weeks later, on August 25, 2015, the governor announced the transfer of the final inmates and detainees.

‘Worth every penny’: Dash cam captures ‘startled’ Oregon car prowler

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 04:00 PM PDT

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The cost of a dashboard-mounted camera may vary, but the look on this car prowler's face when he realized he was caught in the act is, well, priceless.

A Beaverton woman told our sister station KOIN that one of her neighbors noticed her vehicle's door wide open. When she looked back at her Owlcam dashboard camera footage, sure enough, there was a car prowler who was clearly caught off guard when he realized he was on camera.

"It starts recording without any light but, after 10 seconds, the light comes on and he was startled — him and his friends," the car owner told KOIN.

'It's a whole hoax': Trump unloads his fury as whistleblower questions snowball

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:30 PM PDT

First came the diplomacy, the gentle celebration in the grand White House East Room of close ties with Finland in honor of the day's guest. Then came the questions about the whistleblower, impeachment proceedings, and subpoenas.

"It's a whole hoax, and you know who's playing into the hoax? People like you and the fake news media," said President Trump, voice raised as he tried to shut down the freewheeling press conference. "And I say in many cases the corrupt media, because you're corrupt."

He paused and pointed to his guest, who had stood silently beside him for almost 15 minutes.

"Ask the president of Finland a question," he said, before wading in to answer the next question on free trade himself.

Jake's Piggy Bank Is Our Tax Dollars

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:00 PM PDT

Downtown Salisbury is his friend's and his personal playground -

From the Independent:

Main Street/North Division Street Streetscape - $8,400,000
Camden Street Streetscape - $400,000
Circle Avenue Streetscape: - $500,000
That's $9,300,000 that we could use to help the neighborhoods. Where the tax payers live. The people. I would use funds like this to beautify the neighborhoods where our forgotten people are. The people that live outside the downtown. This is why I ask for your vote on November 5th.

Regards,
Wayne King
Candidate for Mayor of Salisbury

HERE is a recap of some of what Jake has planned. Article from 1/02/19 - Where is he going to get the people to patronize these places? The people in Salisbury do not exactly have hundred dollar bills falling out of their pockets with their minimum wage jobs.

'Analysts need to be African Americans': Tlaib insists all facial recognition techs be black

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 02:30 PM PDT

Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib recently visited the Real Time Crime Center after having tweeting "@detroitpolice You should probably rethink this whole facial recognition bulls**t" in August.

The Detroit Police responded by offering a tour of the Real Time Crime Center, so she should see how the technology was helping to apprehend criminals and prevent crime. "@RashidaTlaib Before you criticize the software, come to our Real Time Crime Center to see how we @detroitpolice responsibly use it in efforts to identify criminals involved in violent crimes. Let's set a date."

Appearing suspicious from the start, the liberal congresswoman began her visit by questioning the presence of the reporter from The Detroit News. "Who are you and why are you recording me?" she said, suggesting he might be using his footage for facial recognition.

'It could hurt Joe': Top ally says Hunter Biden's Ukraine dealings could 'blow up' campaign

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 02:00 PM PDT

Joe Biden's 2020 presidential campaign could be "blown up" by suspicions over Joe's and his son Hunter's dealings with Ukraine, according to one of his top allies.

"This whole thing could go two ways for him," said Ed Rendell, 75, a former Pennsylvania governor. "If Trump's ads are significantly good, even if they're all lies. It could hurt Joe. Voters get tired. Joe's popular point was that he could get back to normalcy, and that gets blown up if voters think he'll be bogged down with Republican investigations when he's in office."

Rendell, who was recently used by Biden, 76, to call Elizabeth Warren "a hypocrite", gave a remarkably downbeat assessment of the former vice president's chances, suggesting he could lose the first two Democratic contests and that he is under threat from left-wing voters coalescing around the Massachusetts senator.

'Obstruction trap': Trio of GOP congressmen rips impeachment inquiry as effort to 'undermine' DOJ inquiry

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 01:30 PM PDT

Three GOP congressmen delivered a scathing critique of the House impeachment inquiry against President Trump on Sean Hannity's Fox News program on Tuesday.

Reps. Mark Meadows, Devin Nunes, and Jim Jordan all seemed to be in agreement with Hannity that this inquiry will "boomerang" on the Democrats, resulting in political reprisal against figures such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff.

Democrats are threatening obstruction of justice charges after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo slammed their effort to depose State Department officials to talk about the burgeoning Ukraine controversy as a "bully" tactic and said he will attempt to "prevent and expose any attempts to intimidate the dedicated professionals whom I am proud to lead and serve alongside at the Department of State."

Dems Target Mike Pompeo

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 01:00 PM PDT

In an effort to prop up their "whistleblower's" false allegations, House Democrats have lashed out at Secretary of State Mike Pompeo over his refusal to submit to their subpoena demands. Following Pompeo's statement that he would not let State Department staff be bullied by Democrats into testifying, three Democrat committee chairmen led by Rep. Adam "B Movie" Schiff cried foul, disingenuously claiming that this was evidence that Pompeo was the one who was "intimidat[ing] witnesses." They warned, "Any effort to intimidate witnesses or prevent them from talking with Congress — including State Department employees — is illegal and will constitute evidence of obstruction of the impeachment inquiry."

Naturally, the mainstream media is taking cues from Democrats and is now framing the normal job-related actions of high-ranking White House officials like Pompeo and Attorney General William Barr as somehow being evidence of corruption. For example, Pompeo is alleged to have engaged in misconduct for simply listening to President Donald Trump's infamous July 25th phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Why would this be wrong? As The Wall Street Journal notes, "Shouldn't a Secretary of State be on a call to the new President of an important country? U.S. foreign policy is the secretary's job."

Why are Democrats playing this vilification game?

Gene Kelly Tap Dancing in Roller Skates

Gene Kelly Tap Dancing in Roller Skates... You have no idea how good he was at Dancing until you watch this.

Look closely and notice these are not even shoe skates. They are the kind I had as a kid and came with a skate key.

Amazing. I wonder how many times he fell before perfecting this routine. This is fantastic. It is unbelievable.

If you've ever roller-skated, you will find this impossible to believe!

This fellow is really amazing! He starts tap dancing about halfway through the video. I loved looking at the dresses and hats of the ladies and all the old cars. Notice also that almost all the ladies were wearing gloves except at the end when folks were clapping. And, all the men were wearing hats.

JUST REMARKABLE!
WHAT A TALENT AND HE MAKES IT LOOK SO EASY.
WE'LL NEVER SEE ANOTHER TALENT LIKE THIS.

This will bring back some of those old time memories for most of us.

‘Whistleblower’ colluded with House Democrats before making complaint

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:30 AM PDT

As President Donald J. Trump joined Finland President Sauli Niinistö for a joint press conference this afternoon, he was handed a breaking news article published by The New York Times. The story is damning for House Democrats: Impeachment czar and Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) knew about the "whistleblower's" complaint against President Trump before he or she made it.

President TrumpSchiff's account to Congress was a total fabrication.

"The federal intelligence community whistleblower law explicitly states intelligence community whistleblowers must formally go through the ICIG [Inspector General of the Intelligence Community] *before* contacting Congress," Federalist cofounder Sean Davis writes on Twitter.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) adds that Rep. Schiff "withheld this info from the American people" and even from the House Intelligence Committee. "In light of this news, it's hard to view impeachment as anything aside from an orchestrated farce."

Legitimate whistleblowers do this country an important service, President Trump says. But when these laws are exploited for raw partisan politics, it makes a mockery of the entire process. The damage being done to public trust in government is enormous.

"Trump's transparency is driving the left nuts," says former Rep. Jason Chaffetz.

President Trump's advice: Read the transcript!

Last week, House Democrats chose to open an impeachment inquiry into Trump before they even investigated the alleged "quid pro quo" and "cover-up" in his phone call with Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky. That decision will haunt Democrats for months if not years to come.

The very next day, President Trump foiled their gambit by releasing the full, unredacted transcript of his telephone conversation. You can read it here.

The President wants all Americans to read the transcript for themselves. Congressional Democrats do not. That alone reveals their stunning error in judgment. The far left may not care what the truth is, but most American citizens expect Congress to do its homework before trying to remove a duly elected President from office. It didn't.

It explains why Rep. Adam Schiff read a fake, "parody" transcript of the call before the House Intelligence Committee last week. It explains why Democrats have quickly moved on to demanding other transcripts and documents, hoping to distract from the fact that the entire basis of their impeachment inquiry was proven to be false in a matter of hours.

The problem is that, once again, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has overpromised and underdelivered. Democrats do not have the votes to remove President Trump from office. Even if they did, a majority of Americans oppose impeachment. Democrat leaders know this. But since they've used investigations as an excuse to obstruct bipartisan legislation for nearly 3 years, they eventually had to deliver something for their far-left base.

It won't work, but the good news is that something positive will come from the Democrats' astonishing political incompetence. Democrats are right that Americans deserve to know the truth about corruption on the part of elected officials. With the media spotlight now on the Ukraine investigation, they're finally going to get it.

Senate Democrats pressured Ukraine last year to cooperate on the Mueller investigation into President Trump. This year, President Trump has asked Ukraine to fully cooperate with the Justice Department's investigation into the actions of former Vice President Joe Biden and his family in Ukraine.

Transparency and accountability apply to everyoneCongressional Democrats got their 2-year investigation into President Trump, which turned up nothing. Now, aided by their own impeachment stunt, Democrat leaders are coming under the same scrutiny.

That's a good thing. After all, Speaker Pelosi put it best: If there's nothing to hide, then they have nothing to worry about.

In almost all of the cases, the communications were sent to Clinton's unsecured server.

Pelosi NECK DEEP in Ukraine – Female Ukrainian Party Girl Connected to Military and Government is Her Legislative Aide

Young Ivanna Voronovych was a party girl in the Ukraine and somehow managed to make her way into a position as a Legislative Aide to Nancy Pelosi –

Young Voronovych started her career working at the US Embassy in the Ukraine in Kiev. She worked for Roman Woronowycz, the Kiev Bureau Chief, who is connected to Nancy Pelosi. As a matter of fact, he is a fan of Pelosi's. Woronowycz is well connected with with the US Congress as can be seen from the picture below where he was given a tour of the Capital by Voronovych before reportedly meeting up with Pelosi, Schumer and others. Additional Off-Season Paramedic Crew Funded To Ensure All Calls Answered; 44 Instances Last Year When No Personnel Available

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 09:15 AM PDT

OCEAN CITY — With 44 occasions in the offseason last year when the Ocean City Fire Department did not have ambulance crews available to respond to calls, resort officials this week approved funding to add a two-person paramedic crew this year.

During Tuesday's work session, Ocean City Fire Chief Richie Bowers and his staff came before the Mayor and Council requesting approval to fund another two-person ambulance crew from October through April. The request came after a recent review revealed there were numerous times during the offseason last year when the department had two or fewer ambulance crews available to respond to calls including 44 times when no crews were available.

The proposal on the table was to add a two-person ambulance crew to be staffed from Sunday to Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Beginning Thursday and through the weekends when call volume is highest, the unit would be staffed 24 hours a day.

N.Korea's suspected submarine-launched missile 'pushes the envelope'

North Korea fired what may be a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) on Wednesday, which would be the first test in three years of what had been a relatively young but rapidly progressing program to deliver nuclear weapons.

The launch comes hours after the North announced it would resume nuclear talks with the United States this weekend, potentially ending a months-long deadlock that followed a vow by leader Kim Jong Un and President Donald Trump to make progress.

The exact type of the missile and the launch platform remain unclear, but it appears to be a step that "pushes the envelope," said Joshua Pollack, a leading expert on nuclear and missile proliferation and editor of Non-proliferation Review.

"Toys are a reflection of culture and as the world continues to celebrate the positive impact of inclusivity, we felt it was time to create a doll line free of labels," explained the company's senior vice president, Kim Culmone.

The Victim Trap That Keeps People Down

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:00 AM PDT

During my student days at a UCLA economics department faculty/graduate student coffee hour in the 1960s, I was chatting with professor Armen Alchian, probably the greatest microeconomic theory economist of the 20th century.

I was trying to impress Alchian with my knowledge of statistical type I and type II errors. I explained that unlike my wife, who assumed that everyone was her friend until they proved differently, my assumption was everyone was an enemy until they proved otherwise.

The result: My wife's vision maximized the number of her friends but maximized her chances of betrayal. My vision minimized my chances of betrayal at a cost of minimizing the number of my friends.

Alchian, donning a mischievous smile, asked, "Williams, have you considered a third alternative, namely, that people don't give a damn about you one way or another?"

Audit: Baltimore Data Losses Due to Insufficient Backups, Poor Internal Controls

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 07:00 AM PDT

A recent audit of Baltimore's IT department found that the agency lost important data during this year's ransomware attack due to poor storage practices.

Staff for the Baltimore City Information and Technology department (BCIT) routinely saved data on their local servers instead of backing it up on an external cloud system, according to a newly released audit. When the attack hit, some of that data was compromised by the malware.

As a result, data that was supposed to aid in the analysis of four performance measures — metrics meant to determine if the agency was meeting its goals in an efficient and cost-effective manner — could not be accounted for throughout the 2017-18 fiscal years, according to the report.

Jussie Smollett: I’m nothing like that little girl who actually apologized for fabricating a hate crime hoax

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:45 AM PDT

Noted hate crime hoaxer Jussie Smollett says it is unfair to compare him to the Virginia sixth-grader who confessed this week to fabricating a story about white classmates forcibly cutting her dreadlocks.

He is right. 12-year-old Amari Allen has at least apologized for lying. She is no Jussie.

Allen's false tale of racial discrimination gained national attention last week after newsrooms seized on the fact that Second Lady Karen Pence teaches part-time at the girl's school, Immanuel Christian in Springfield, Va. Reporters saw this as the perfect hook to make a local story about alleged discrimination into a much larger story about the Trump administration. This led the New York Times to interview the 12-year-old girl and repeat her allegations verbatim without actually scrutinizing them.

Leaking classified information is 'thievery, not protected speech,' Justice Department says

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:30 AM PDT

A contractor accused of leaking classified information engaged in "thievery, not protected speech," and has no First Amendment grounds to challenge his Espionage Act prosecutions, the Justice Department said in an Alexandria federal court filing.

Former intelligence analyst Daniel Hale shared National Security Agency details of drone warfare with the website The Intercept, according to an indictment filed in May. His defense attorneys argued last month that the law was designed to deal with spies, not leakers, and that the prosecution runs afoul of the First Amendment by chilling news gathering and implicating the reporter who received the information.

It's an argument that probably will resurface if Julian Assange, facing prosecution in the same courthouse for publishing classified information, is ever extradited. The government rarely prosecuted leakers until President Barack Obama's tenure, and the Trump administration is the first president to prosecute the publisher of classified information along with the leaker.

Prosecutors pushed back in their own motion Monday, saying Hale signed non-disclosure agreements that made the law clear.

Impeachment: Two Ways to Go With Coup d'Etat 2.0

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:15 AM PDT

Last week, as I was preparing a comprehensive analysis on the threat to American Liberty posed by the Democrat Party's latest proposal to register firearm transfers, a much more immediate and significant threat to our Constitution emerged.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the centerpiece of the Democrats' 2020 presidential campaign platform, which her House and Senate colleagues can also run on — "Impeach Trump."

Make no mistake, Pelosi's impeachment pivot is a hard extension of the previous soft coup d'etat to take down Trump, the fake Russia collusion fabrication, which fell flat after the Mueller investigation concluded.

President Trump responded to the version 2.0 coup attempt, declaring: "I am coming to the conclusion that what is taking place is not an impeachment, it is a COUP, intended to take away the Power of the People, their VOTE, their Freedoms, their Second Amendment, Religion, Military, Border Wall, and their God-given rights as a Citizen of the United States of America!"

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a historian who chooses his words carefully, concurred: "This is not an impeachment process. This is a coup d'etat."

Predictably, calling the Democrats' impeachment effort what it is immediately set leftist heads aflame. But recall the words of key Demos during the impeachment of one of their own — serial liar and sexual assailant Bill Clinton:

Trump says Schiff 'helped write' whistleblower complaint, after House panel admits advance knowledge

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:00 AM PDT

A spokesman for House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., acknowledged for the first time on Wednesday that the whistleblower alleging misconduct in the White House had reached out to Schiff's panel before filing a complaint -- prompting President Trump, in an extraordinary afternoon news conference at the White House, to accuse Schiff directly of helping write the document.

Schiff had previously claimed in a televised interview that "we have not spoken directly with the whistleblower." A Schiff spokesperson seemingly narrowed that claim late Wednesday, telling Fox News that Schiff himself "does not know the identity of the whistleblower, and has not met with or spoken with the whistleblower or their counsel" for any reason.

An aide to Schiff insisted that when Schiff mentioned "we" had not spoken to the whistleblower, he was referring to members of the full House intelligence committee, rather than staff. NBC National Security reporter Ken Dilanian flagged Schiff's explanation as "deceptive" late Wednesday.

Vlaming allgedly refused to call a ninth grade student by the male pronouns "he" and "him" because he considered it a "lie," principal Jonathan Hochman told the school board last year. The student had transitioned and used male pronouns.
