Less than 1% of all active Royal Rangers nationally have ever achieved this award. Since its inception in 1964, (55 years ago) only 651 rangers nationally have ever achieved this high honor. Norris Carey, a son of Maryland's eastern shore is number 652! Norris Carey, is a recent graduate of Stepping Stones Learning Academy in Fruitland and is currently enrolled at Wor-Wic Tech community college. In this case, it's his personal lawyer, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. While there may be some arguable basis on which to charge the businessmen — Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman — with incompetent business transactions, the timing of the indictment — in the middle of the House Intelligence Committee's impeachment effort against Trump — makes it seem more than just coincidental. Neither Parnas nor Fruman appears to possess the business acumen such that Trump would bring them into his inner circle of confidence. Their links to the Trump family appear to be nothing more than as political hangers on; and their relationship to Giuliani seem to consist largely of legitimate business dealings. The boy remained in hospital on Monday as the suspected shooter, Javon Johnson, 33, was charged with attempted murder over the incident which happened in Baltimore in the early hours of Saturday morning, ABC News reported. They are clearly not based on any fiscal realities. We've spoken ad nauseum about the state-level funding requirements. We've already noted that the working group stacked with tax-and-spend Democrats beholden to the Maryland State Education Association was already planting a budget bomb that would require a 10% increase in state spending and over $6,000 a year in new state taxes. But not being content with increasing state taxes, the working group has decided that county-level taxes aren't high enough either based on the county-level funding requirements under the Kirwan recommendations. The pilot is based on the 2018 novel by the same title, which tells the story of an American president and a secret, world-threatening crisis. Filming is expected to begin in the state in early 2020. | Attorney General Frosh Continues Opposition to Federal Rule Restricting Asylum Access Posted: 15 Oct 2019 03:00 PM PDT  "This rule essentially criminalizes those who seek asylum in the United States," said Attorney General Frosh. "Its purpose seems to be to instill fear in those who are already fleeing violence and persecution." In the brief, the attorneys general argue that the rule significantly departs from core values enshrined in federal law and harms asylum-seekers and the states that welcome them. The rule forces asylum-seekers to go through what is likely a fruitless asylum process in another country before they are eligible for asylum in the United States. This unnecessarily subjects asylum-seekers to peril and trauma, and could encourage individuals and families to enter the United States undetected. The rule will have a particularly negative effect on unaccompanied children, LGBTQ applicants, and women, for whom applying for asylum in a third country is extremely dangerous. Two-thirds of LGBTQ Central American asylum-seekers reportedly suffer sexual violence while traveling through Mexico, and children in Guatemala are frequently targets of recruitment by criminal gangs. In promulgating this rule, the Trump administration also failed to provide adequate notice, in violation of the Administrative Procedure Act. In a September decision, the U.S. Supreme Court stayed the District Court's nationwide preliminary injunction pending the proceedings that are currently before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, allowing the rule to be in effect while the case is litigated. Surely, that has the benefit of ensuring that these individuals turn out to vote. But one claim made to push the change, that felon disenfranchisement is racist, is absurd. Many states have had that rule as long as they have been states, and places such as Vermont in 1793 or later in North and South Dakota can hardly be claimed to have adopted these rules because of concerns about black voters. Democrats used to argue that once felons had served their time, they had paid their debt to society and should be able to vote. Now, after Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) earlier this year argued for felons to vote while they are in prison, even for those who have committed the most horrible crimes, other Democrats have picked up the cause. As a result, some communities across the U.S. are banning drive-thrus, citing the additional carbon emissions that are released. Minneapolis this summer banned construction of new drive-thrus, while officials in Long Beach, California, have imposed a six-month ban on new drive-thrus while they study the issue. Similar ordinances restricting or prohibiting fast-food windows have also been adopted in communities including Creve Coeur, Missouri; Fair Haven, New Jersey; and Orchard Park, New York. The rescue team was called around 6:30 p.m. after other hikers passed Floyd on the trail and saw his owner needed help. The raccoon was caught in a trap on Sept. 28 on Schooner Lane in the Decatur Farms neighborhood off Route 113 in Berlin, according to the Berlin Police Department. Angela Richardson, rabies program coordinator for the Worcester County Health Department, said 26 confirmed cases of rabies occurred in 2018, with10 reported situations in 2017 and 14 instances in 2016. "This is similar to the pattern over the past several years," Richardson said. If wild animals, including a raccoon, skunk, fox, or feral cat, are "behaving in a threatening or obviously sick manner," that could constitute a red flag, Richardson said. The incumbent Republican Secretary of State won a plurality of the vote, but didn't reach the bare majority threshold required to stave off the two-way election, scheduled for November 16. The Democrat in the contest only won about one-third of all votes, but because two other Republican challengers were in the mix -- combining for roughly 25 percent of the aggregate vote -- the sitting officeholder was held under 50 percent. All in, the trio of GOP candidates won 66 percent of the ballots for this office. This is going to be a Republican hold. Then there's the big one: The gubernatorial race. Democratic incumbent John Bel Edwards, a pro-life moderate, was unable to avoid a runoff, attracting just 46.6 percent of the 'jungle primary' vote. But apparently we're supposed to believe she's also a Russian stooge and alt-right figurehead. On Oct. 12, the New York Times published an absurd hit piece — as a "news" article, not opinion — lambasting Gabbard and grossly distorting her candidacy. It's apparent from the incredulous, not objective headline: "What, Exactly, Is Tulsi Gabbard Up To?" and the subhead of the article, which reads: "As she injects chaos into the 2020 Democratic primary by accusing her own party of 'rigging' the election, an array of alt-right internet stars, white nationalists and Russians have praised her."
