Donald Trump Jr attacks Anderson Cooper's handling of Democratic debate Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:30 PM PDT Donald Trump Jr. attacked Anderson Cooper's handling of the Democratic debate last night after the CNN anchor claimed the president's claims against Joe and Hunter Biden were 'false.' Cooper prefaced a question to Biden during last night's debate in Ohio, by saying that there was 'no evidence of wrongdoing' by either Joe or Hunter Biden. It referred to Hunter's tenure at gas company Burisma and Trump's accusation that his father, then Vice President, had urged the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor for Burisma's benefit. The Bidens deny wrongdoing but it remains to be seen whether Trump's charge is true. In response, Don Jr. took to Twitter to declare Cooper was 'the DNC's MVP so far for the night covering for #QuidProJoe even when Hunter Biden said they talked about it. Would be nice if they called out the BS once in a while.' More
Democrats Ratchet Up Impeachment Secrecy Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:00 PM PDT Not long ago, House Republicans complained that Democrats imposed excessive secrecy on interviews conducted as part of the drive to impeach President Trump. Now, the situation appears to have gotten worse. The recent interview of Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, marked a new point -- a low point, as Republicans see it -- in Democratic efforts to keep impeachment information out of public view. In this way: The two previous impeachment interviews -- with former ambassador to the European Union Kurt Volker and intelligence community inspector general Michael Atkinson -- were conducted in the format of what is known as a transcribed interview. Rep. Adam Schiff, who is running the Democratic impeachment effort, decreed that transcripts not be released to the public. At the same time, there were no heavily restrictive rules on what would happen should any member of Congress, acting from memory, reveal things that were said in the interview. ICE HSI El Paso, USBP identify more than 200 'fraudulent families' in last 6 months Posted: 17 Oct 2019 06:30 PM PDT EL PASO, Texas — Unrelated illegal aliens, falsely posing as families from Central and South America, continue to fraudulently circumvent U.S. immigration laws so they will be quickly released into the United States after turning themselves in to U.S. border authorities. In April 2019, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) began the Family Fraud Initiative in El Paso to identify individuals fraudulently presenting themselves as families when making an asylum claim in order to be released into the United States. Since inception, this law enforcement initiative has resulted in the following:
Some of the most disturbing cases identified involve transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) and individuals who are increasingly exploiting innocent children to further their criminal activity. Investigations indicate that TCOs and individuals have entered into schemes with biological parents to dangerously transfer their children – ranging in age from 4 months to 16 years – to unrelated adults so they can pose as family units to further their human smuggling criminal enterprises and/or fraudulently obtain U.S. immigration benefits. HSI and U.S. Border Patrol agents in El Paso have referred 19 children to U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS), potentially rescuing these children from dangerous situations. Jack P. Staton, special agent in charge of HSI El Paso, said these criminal schemes are becoming more common, and they endanger children and exploit our immigration laws. "These children are being dangerously used as pawns by criminals to take advantage of loopholes in our immigration laws and avoid being detained by U.S. immigration authorities," he said. "HSI and Border Patrol will continue to protect children from being smuggled, as well as aggressively target, identify and stop criminal organizations from generating false documents and exploiting innocent children." Also, this past summer Border Patrol agents encountered a Guatemalan, who initially claimed to be an unaccompanied minor. The alleged juvenile possessed a birth certificate that reflected his claim to being 15 years old. However, during questioning he admitted that the birth certificate he presented was fraudulent, and that in fact he was an 18-year-old adult. In this case as in several others, the agents' investigative actions prevented this man from being processed as a minor, referred to HHS and housed with juveniles. "These are examples of the dark side of this humanitarian crisis that our Border Patrol and HSI agents are working tirelessly to identify," said El Paso Sector Interim Chief Gloria I. Chavez. "We will pursue the highest of judicial consequences for those who commit fraud and exploit innocent children." The issue of "family unit fraud" has been increasing since the spring of 2018. To combat the unprecedented surge of families, both legitimate and fraudulent, and identify and rescue innocent children who are being exploited, HSI deployed 130 personnel to the Southwest border consisting of special agents, criminal analysts, forensic interview specialists, document examiners and victim assistance specialists.
Paris zoo debuts mysterious self-healing "blob" that has nearly 720 sexes Posted: 17 Oct 2019 06:00 PM PDT It's bright yellow, it has no brain and it can heal itself in just a few minutes. This sounds like something out of a horror film, but the mysterious creature is actually a living organism — and a zoo in Paris is putting it on display. The Paris Zoological Park announced this week it is unveiling a first-of-its-kind exhibit Saturday featuring a slimy organism called "The Blob." The exhibit will showcase its rarities for the public and allow visitors to learn about the odd creature. The unicellular mold is known officially as physarum polycephalum, or the "many-headed slime." It has no mouth, stomach, eyes, brain or nervous system, but it can detect and digest food. The zoo said the organism first appeared a billion years ago. More
Coast Guard hoists man and two dogs near Smith Island, Maryland Posted: 17 Oct 2019 05:30 PM PDT CRISFIELD, MD — The Coast Guard hoisted a man and his dogs two miles south of Smith Island Thursday morning. Sector Maryland watchstanders received a distress call via VHF-FM radio at approximately 11 p.m. from a recreational boater reporting that his 26-foot sailing vessel had become disabled due to weather conditions near Smith Island. A Station Crisfield 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew was launched along with an Air Station Atlantic City MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew to assist the man. A Maryland State Trooper helicopter aircrew also arrived to assist and visually confirmed the vessel's location. The man was hoisted along with his two dogs to Salisbury Regional Airport with no reported injuries. "This instance highlights the importance of checking the weather prior to leaving for any voyage and continuing to monitor the marine forecast, as weather can change at a moment's notice," said Lt. Alfred Betts, public affairs officer at Sector Maryland. "We greatly appreciate the rapid response and capabilities of our partners with the Maryland State Police, with whom we worked very closely on this case." -USCG-

Biden's Worst Moments From Tuesday's Democratic Debate Posted: 17 Oct 2019 03:30 PM PDT Former Vice President Joe Biden was the clear loser of the night, not only rambling his way through responses, and at many points making completely incoherent statements, but failing to give a strong defense of his son, Hunter, over his gig at Burisma while he was vice president overseeing Ukraine policy—an issue he should have been more than prepared to discuss. Here are some examples of why Biden crashed and burned last night: 1. He largely dodged Anderson Cooper's question about Hunter, insisting his "son did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong. I carried out the policy of the United States in rooting out corruption in Ukraine. That's what we should be focusing on." More
Let's Stop Stealing Time from Children Posted: 17 Oct 2019 03:00 PM PDT I saw it happen right before my eyes. During the last year of my pre-mom life I spent one last year in an administrative role in a public school system dealing with the math curriculum for the entire district. Prior to that I was a high school math teacher for some years. Our district, like every other one around it, ushered in full day kindergarten like a sweeping torrent of rain. And so I sat, plump with baby number one, surrounded by teachers and administrators in several meetings to determine how this extra school time for the five-year-olds would be spent. Mind you, there weren't any children in the meeting. Now the kindergarten teachers, they were unanimous and unwavering. Play time and rest. Play time and rest. They echoed each other and they never strayed from this message. With both physical and anecdotal reasoning, the teachers held fast to what they believed the extra time should be used for because that is what the children need. They need station time and recess… and they need a little rest. But if you had to hedge your bets as to what the extra time eventually was allotted to what would be your guess? It was not play time nor rest but academics. More
Pelosi strategy questioned after refusing authorization vote on impeachment inquiry Posted: 17 Oct 2019 02:30 PM PDT House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's announcement that she has no plans to hold a vote to formally approve an impeachment inquiry of President Trump has been met with an outcry from Republicans and the White House who argue the ongoing probe lacks legal authority. Still, Democrats are continuing to call witnesses with Michael McKinley, former senior adviser to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, appearing Wednesday for a closed-door interview, as the White House resists Democrats' investigatory efforts based on the House's refusal to hold a vote. Meanwhile, legal analysts say that should this clash end up before a judge, House Democrats could have a tricky time in court. IRS Admits Targeting The Poor Because It's "Easier And Cheaper" Than Auditing The Wealthy Posted: 17 Oct 2019 02:00 PM PDT The IRS has announced that it's "too expensive" to audit the rich. Affluent taxpayers, the 1%, are too well protected from government intrusion. Their tax returns are complex and take more time and more experienced auditors to review them. The IRS then has to pay these more experienced auditors a higher price to audit those larger accounts. It's become an expensive hassle for them. They encounter resistance from the teams that the affluent have behind them to defend them from the IRS. So, what is their solution? Target the poor. It is easier and cheaper for the IRS to go after the working class. As if the struggling working class in this country doesn't have enough to deal with, watch out for Big Brother! Because lower-income families have fewer resources to guard their finances, the IRS finds it a "better use of their resources" to target the poor instead of the wealthy. Because the wealthy have the means to fight back against government intrusion aka well-paid attorneys and accountants, the IRS has decided that any effort to monitor the "haves" is not worth their time. They will instead focus on the "have nots," or the poor working and middle class. It's easier and cheaper to go after the poor and audit them. Those who make less money have fewer defenses to combat the IRS and their returns are simpler. It requires less expense and effort from the IRS to go after a much more fragile portion of our economy – the working poor. More

China, The NBA, And The Massive Face Of Globalism Posted: 17 Oct 2019 11:00 AM PDT Let's get one thing straight. The Chinese people, whether they appear happy or sad, support their government because they're controlled. After generations of being beaten down, the population bows the head and bends the knee to slave masters. Call that freedom if you want to. And if you really believe the situation in America is no better than the system in China, even with the amount of censorship alive and well in America, even with the rigging of this economy, try an experiment. Move to China and start publishing articles relentlessly critical of the government there. See what happens. Be sure to leave a copy of your last Will and Testament at home. When the NBA commissioner and several players talk about loving their Chinese fans, they're referring to victims of long-term terrorism. And if you press the NBA people on that point, they say, "We just want to play basketball, we just want the games." And they want the money.

Trump to Pelosi as She Stormed Out of Meeting: “Goodbye! President Trump put Pelosi in her place and called her a "third grade politician." But he wasn't done. Democratic primary debate television ratings cut in half since first debate Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:45 AM PDT The fourth Democratic presidential debate saw a sharp decline in television ratings compared to the party's first one in June. Tuesday night's debate, which was hosted by CNN and the New York Times, garnered an audience of 8.1 million viewers, according to early Nielsen Media Research. It was the smallest viewership for a presidential debate this election cycle when factoring in that some debates were aired across multiple platforms. CNN did, however, share in a statement that 9.2 million viewers streamed the debate via a number of platforms. The first presidential debate of this cycle, which was on NBC, MSNBC, and Telemundo, took place on June 26 and 27, and each night featured 10 candidates. That first night had approximately 15 million viewers. The next night, which featured the viral moment of California Sen. Kamala Harris confronting former Vice President Joe Biden, had an even larger audience of 18 million people. More
Poll Shows 74% Support Aerial Surveillance in Baltimore Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:30 AM PDT (TNS) — As leading business and religious groups consider whether to endorse the return of crime-fighting surveillance planes above Baltimore, a poll commissioned by a prominent local pastor shows strong support for the initiative among city residents. Backers funded the survey to gauge sentiment on the planes as violent crime remains stubbornly high, skepticism lingers from the secretive rollout of surveillance flights in 2016 and Police Commissioner Michael Harrison has said there's insufficient evidence of the planes' effectiveness. The Rev. Alvin Hathaway Sr., senior pastor of Union Baptist Church in Upton and a member of the Greater Baltimore Committee's board of directors, said he used a $40,000 grant from the Abell Foundation to commission the poll by Hart Research Associates. He said he had been hearing community members express support for such surveillance and wanted to be "a little bit more factual" in determining whether interest was widespread. Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:15 AM PDT A new analysis suggests that the "Medicare for all" idea backed by Democratic presidential candidates Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Massachusetts Sen.Elizabeth Warren would raise total national health spending by $7 trillion over a decade. The analysis, from the Urban Institute, undercuts the argument by "Medicare for all" supporters who say providing a single public plan would save the United States money. It comes as Warren has been under pressure to detail how she would fund the healthcare overhaul, which would put everyone living in the U.S. on a government plan. The analysis, coupled with an extensive healthcare reform study funded by the Commonwealth Fund, finds that while "Medicare for all" would leave no one uninsured, over a decade it would increase government spending by $34 trillion while overall healthcare spending would climb to $59 trillion. Farrow contends top executives knew about the accusations longer than they claimed and were intent on quashing allegations of sexual misconduct by Weinstein and simultaneously keeping a lid on claims against Lauer. School-To-Prison-Pipeline Exposed As 30,000 Kids Under Age 10 Arrested Since 2013 Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:30 AM PDT Arrests of children have skyrocketed over the last decade according to the latest statistics published by the FBI. Gone are the days of sending children to the principal's office for a paddling. Now children as young as 6 are getting arrested in Police State USA. The statistics, complied from 2013 to 2018, revealed more than 30,000 children under the age of 10 have been arrested, averaging more than six thousand kids per year. Equally disturbing is students 10-12 years of age topped 266,000. In the past, students and children were disciplined with consequences such as time out and paddling. As more and more schools replace handling things internally with external police state options like school resource officers, children are ending up with arrest records and their fingerprints stored in databases. Often referred to as the "school to prison pipeline", the principal players in the funneling of kids from school to jail are the school resource officers (SROs), and it's got parents at their wits end. Fortunately, the number of students arrested year to year are on the decline from 2014 until now. ABC News writes: While the FBI's latest crime report released on Monday shows the numbers of children arrested under the age of 10 have continue to gradually declining in the past five years from a high in 2014 of 6,458 to 3,501 in 2018, experts say it is still too many.More

Public University Gives Chinese Communists Funding, Exclusive Rights to Intellectual Concepts Posted: 17 Oct 2019 06:45 AM PDT In the midst of a human rights crisis and violent pro-democracy manifestations in China, Judicial Watch has obtained records that expose a troubling partnership between a public American university and the Chinese Communists at the heart of the abuses. The records show that the University of Arizona (UA), a taxpayer-funded institution with an enrollment of about 44,000, paid $100,000 to launch a Confucius Institute on its Tucson campus more than a decade ago and subsequently dedicated nearly $2 million and other public resources to keep it going. Confucius Institutes were founded by the Chinese government and are managed by China's Ministry of Education to spread Communist ideas. FBI Director Christopher Wray has warned in congressional testimony that Confucius Institutes provide a platform to disseminate Chinese Communist Party propaganda, encourage censorship and restrict academic freedom. Yet dozens of universities throughout the U.S. have erected Confucius Institutes in the last few years, though many have closed over national security concerns and pressure from the Trump administration. This year the U.S. government finally upped the ante, threatening to withhold generous Department of Defense (DOD) language program funding to schools with Confucius Institutes. UA is among the campuses that reportedly will shut down its Confucius Institute at the end of the year to keep its DOD money, but the school's longtime support for the Communist program cannot be erased from the ledgers. Ken Starr: ‘Nothing Close to an Impeachable Offense by Trump’ Posted: 17 Oct 2019 06:30 AM PDT Former special counsel during the Bill Clinton impeachment years says there's something 'profoundly wrong' with Democrats' lack of transparency Ken Starr, the former special counsel who oversaw Bill Clinton's impeachment in the late 1990s, is concerned about what he says is a "raw power move" by House Democrats against President Donald Trump. Starr appeared on Fox News recently. He said the American public should have open access to everything that's going on "impeachment-wise" with the president — the person they duly elected. Why all the secrecy? "Let the public assess … The House is given the sole power to impeach, not a committee and not the speaker. I think this is something that every American should be concerned about … that the speaker is not calling for a vote." "It tells me that this is a very unorthodox, un-traditional procedure and they should stop it," Starr said during the interview, which Trump then re-tweeted on Monday. Starr went on to say that there is something "profoundly wrong" with the Democrats' lack of transparency, and added that nothing President Trump has done is even remotely close to an "impeachable offense." And he should know. More
Somalis have Changed Minneapolis Posted: 17 Oct 2019 06:15 AM PDT Everyone not lying to themselves predicted when the federal government under Bill Clinton – aided and abetted by Lutheran Social Services, Catholic Charities and World Relief Minnesota -- plopped 30,000 Somalis down into the midst of the kind, virtue-signaling, eager-to-help Midwesterners of Minneapolis (of which I am one) that it would lead to some grave consequences for our community. Now, due to continuing refugee placements as well as chain migration there are an estimated 80,000 Somalis living in the Twin Cities metro area, or more like 79,000 if you subtract those who've left the country to join terrorist organizations like ISIS. Anyhoo, here's a week Minneapolitans had with their Somali neighbors last month: On Wednesday, May 15th a couple of University students were attacked on campus at the East Bank Train station by two Somali thugs. It was an attempted robbery that the guys rebuffed sustaining injuries that required a hospital visit. On Thursday, May 16th two Somalis burned down the pavilion at Lake Calhoun [or Lake Bde Maka Ska if you're a virtue signaler) an eating and hanging out meeting place in the heart of the city enjoyed by generations of Americans around the prettiest city lake you've ever seen. This is in the most expensive neighborhood in Minneapolis. More here
