Kraft Heinz: “Virtually No One Noticed” Mac & Cheese Recipe Change

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 09:00 PM PST

After announcing 11 months ago that it would remove artificial colors and preservatives from its Macaroni & Cheese product, Kraft Heinz says it went ahead and did that… and basically no one remarked on the change.

We've all been living with the delusion that Kraft's mac and cheese has remained the same, when really, Kraft Heinz says, the recipe was changed in December. The company is busy crowing about how oblivious with how we've been with a new ad campaign talking about its coup, calling the unnoticed switch "the world's largest taste test."

The new "It's changed. But it hasn't" campaign launches today, Kraft says, and Craig Kilborn is involved somehow:

Cheap Oil Usually Means Global Growth, But This Time Seems Different

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 08:30 PM PST

In the past, falling oil prices have given a boost to the world economy, but recent forecasts for global growth have been ratcheted down, even as oil prices sink lower and lower. Does that mean the link between lower oil prices and growth has weakened?

Jason Bordoff, head the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University, says there are still good reasons to believe cheap oil should heat up the world economy.

"Consumers have more money in their pockets when they're paying less at the pump," says Bordoff. "They spend that money on other things, which stimulates the economy."

Sara Johnson, director of global economic research at IHS, says the biggest gains goes to countries that import most or all of their oil — China, Japan, India, South Korea, Germany and France. The United states also remains a net importer of oil, despite huge increases in U.S. production from the shale oil boom.

WITHIN 30 MINUTES: LOOK WHAT LIBERALS WERE POSTING ABOUT NANCY REAGAN’S DEATH

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 08:00 PM PST

It took less than 30 minutes from the time her death was reported for the hatred to spew

Breitbart collected this sampling of despicable comments about Nancy Reagan's passing today at the age of 94.

It took less than 30 minutes from the time her death was reported for the hatred to spew.

By the way, it bears noting that while Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Donald Trump all tweeted tributes, as of this writing (1:46pm ET), the responses from Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are…crickets.

WHY THREATEN NORTH KOREA AND CHINA? WOULD OBAMA START A WAR TO STAY IN OFFICE?

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 07:30 PM PST

Late in his second term, Obama is starting to become extremely aggressive with the rest of the world.

Is Barack Obama trying to start a war, and will that war be used as an excuse to stay in office once his term is over?

Late in his second term, Obama is starting to become extremely aggressive with the rest of the world. He just angered China by sailing an aircraft carrier task force past disputed islands in the South China Sea, he is provoking North Korea by simulating an invasion of that nation during a military exercise that is going to involve more than 300,000 troops, and he is backing Saudi Arabia and Turkey as they make moves that could very well start World War III in the Middle East. If a war did begin, that could give Obama the excuse that he needs to exercise his emergency powers, and that could potentially include suspending the election that is scheduled for November.

I know that all of this sounds a little bizarre, but it would help to explain Obama's extremely aggressive behavior lately.

Israel's Netanyahu declines offer to meet with Obama: White House

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 07:00 PM PST

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declined an offer to meet U.S. President Barack Obama at the White House later this month and canceled his trip to Washington, the White House said on Monday.

Netanyahu's decision to nix his U.S. visit marked the latest episode in a fraught relationship with Obama that has yet to recover from their deep differences over last year's U.S.-led international nuclear deal with Iran, Israel's arch foe.

The White House said the Israeli government had requested a Netanyahu meeting with Obama on either March 18 or 19 and that two weeks ago he was offered a March 18 encounter.

China is turning to Reaganomics to fix its economy

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 06:00 PM PST

Chinese President Xi Jinping is about to tell millions of government workers: "You're fired."
Reuters reported last week that China plans to lay off between five and six million state workers over the next two to three years, in an effort to curb overcapacity in what's being described as "zombie companies": those that are being kept alive on bank loans despite bleeding revenue. Close to two million of these layoffs will come from the coal industry alone.
The layoffs are part of a series of sweeping reforms that were announced ahead of the National People's Congress (NPC) meeting. Every year, close to 3,000 Chinese officials and executives from all over the country convene in Beijing to develop and assess the status of the country's Five-Year Plan. In response to worldwide demands that China manage its slowing economy better, President Xi Jinping this year has proposed what he calls "supply-side structural reform."
And if that sounds a little like Reaganomics, that's kind of the point.

Jeff Bezos' space company expects to start flying passengers in 2018

KENT, Wash. (Reuters) - Jeff Bezos' space company Blue Origin expects to begin crewed test flights of its reusable suborbital New Shepard vehicle next year and begin flying paying passengers in 2018, Bezos told reporters on Tuesday.

Bezos' remarks, made during the first ever media tour of the Blue Origin manufacturing facility, marked the first time the billionaire founder ofAmazon.com had put a target date on the start of the commercial space flights Blue Origin is developing.

"We'll probably fly test pilots in 2017, and if we're successful then I'd imagine putting paying astronauts on in 2018," Bezos said at the sprawling plant south of Seattle

Subject: George Will: GOP Must ‘Rethink the Business of Open Primaries and Caucuses’

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 05:00 PM PST

The Republican Party is "going to have to rethink the business of having open primaries and caucuses," Washington Post columnist George Will urged after noting that Donald Trump has been doing well in "open" primary contests.

Will told host Chris Wallace:

"The Republican Party is going to have to rethink the business of having open primaries and caucuses. Seven of the, what, 19 events so far have been closed. Trump has lost five of them. So the question is, is this, as has been said, a hostile takeover of the republican Party and the Republicans have to think whether they want to go forward year after year vulnerable to this."

Closed primaries are only for those who are registered members of a party prior to election day while open primaries allow for voting by registered voters from any party.

On Monday, Fox News noted that trends find Trump performs better in open primaries, while Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has done well in the states that hold closed contests.

FoxNews.com reported:

To date, Trump has won a dozen contests, seven of which were open to voters regardless of party affiliation – and two of which have a hybrid system. He has won only three contests that were limited to registered Republicans – Nevada, Kentucky and Louisiana. (His victories in the latter two states were relatively tight.)

By contrast, five of Cruz's six victories came in closed or semi-closed contests. The only exception was Texas, his home state.

The proposal — championed by Republican frontrunner Donald J. Trump — was even more popular in Mississippi, where 7 out of 10 Republicans favored a ban on Muslim travel. Those proportions match the range of responses among the states that voted a week ago on Tuesday, ranging from 64% (Virginia) to Alabama (78%).

Necropsy Provides New Clue Into Mysterious Deaths of 13 Bald Eagles on Maryland Farm

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 02:20 PM PST

Newly released necropsy results are providing a new clue into the mysterious deaths of 13 eagles found on a farm last month in Federalsburg, Maryland, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

"The results show that these eagles did not die of natural causes, including disease," U.S. Fish and Wildlife public affairs specialist Catherine J. Hibbard told ABC News today in a statement.

The necropsy ruled out diseases such as avian influenza as a cause of the mass death, Hibbard said.

"Our investigation is now focused on human causes and bringing to justice the person(s) responsible for the death of these eagles," she said. "We cannot release further details about the cause of death as such information may compromise the ongoing investigation."

OCPD Arrest WV Women after Weekend Pursuit

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 01:45 PM PST

OCEAN CITY, MD – (March 9, 2016): Ocean City police arrested a West Virginia woman late last Friday evening for impaired driving and fleeing from police. She was eventually stopped in West Ocean City.

On March 4, 2016, at approximately 11 p.m. Ocean City police were alerted to a vehicle that had been driving erratically in the north Ocean City area. A short time later, officers located a vehicle matching the given description traveling on Coastal Highway near 146th Street. Officers followed the vehicle into the 7-11 Convenience Store parking lot on 139th Street. While speaking with the driver, later identified as Brandie Deano, 36, of Charles Town, WV, officers observed signs of impairment. Deano then got into her vehicle and sped off.

Officers attempted to stop Deano but she refused to stop and continued to accelerate away from officers. Officers pursued Deano, who failed to stop for multiple red traffic signals and reached speeds well in excess of the posted speed limits. Additional officers responded and deployed stop sticks at 65th Street unsuccessfully as Deano continued to flee from police, eventually driving west over the Route 50 bridge.

With assistance from Worcester County Sheriff's deputies, officers were eventually able to bring the vehicle to a stop near Golf Course Road in West Ocean City. Deano was arrested without further incident. Officers later determined that Deano was impaired at the time of the incident.

Deano was issued nearly 20 traffic citations including driving while impaired by a controlled dangerous substance, multiple counts of speeding, failure to stop for uniformed police as well as reckless and negligent driving. Deano was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and released after posting $10,000 bond.

Is Trump the Man for Small Businesses?

According to a survey from the National Federation of Independent

Business, U.S. small business confidence fell in February. Suzy Welch, author of "The Real Life MBA" suggests there are multiple reasons for the decrease.

"What small business people are expressing with this lack of confidence is that they're uncertain," Welch told FOX Business Network's Neil Cavuto. "They're uncertain about the election, they're uncertain about regulation, they're uncertain about the minimum wage going up and they're uncertain about what's happening in China… so they're in this environment where it feels again suddenly like there's zero visibility."

Welch shared her thoughts on how some small businesses feel about GOP frontrunner Donald Trump.

The Livelihoods of the Drug Companies: Donald Trump Points the Way to a New Social Contract

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 01:00 PM PST

Did you notice that Donald Trump, speaking in Florida on the night of March 5— fresh from victories in two of the four states that went to the polls on Saturday— cited "pharmaceuticals" as villains to be brought to political justice?

In fact, in recent weeks the populist mogul has attacked the drug industry repeatedly, in terms that might seem unfamiliar for a Republican—any Republican, that is, other than the consciously iconoclastic Trump.

A revealing headline atop a March 2 story in Stat News blares: "Trump's health care plan takes (another) page from the Democrats." In the words of health-beat journalist David Nather, Trump "has embraced an idea to bring down drug costs that's associated more with Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) than with the party he's trying to lead."

To be sure, most of Trump's 2016 campaign healthcare plan is in keeping with orthodox Republicanism. Most obviously, he urges the "full repeal" of Obamacare.

Full Panic Mode: Rubio Caught Lying About ICE Agent, Breitbart News on Fox

COLUMBIA, South Carolina — Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)attacked Breitbart News Network repeatedly in an appearance on the Fox News Channel on Saturday morning as he struggled, just like he did during his 2013 push for amnesty as the lead pitchman for the "Gang of Eight" bill, to defend his record on immigration.

In the interview, with Neil Cavuto, Rubio made at least five demonstrably false statements in under two minutes.

"ICE officials now, who are saying that your push for enforcement on the border has not been consistent, that when you were part of that Gang of Eight that you were not making it a priority. When they questioned this Chris Crane of this council group of officers, he said that not one of the changes we suggested was made to the bill before Sen. Rubio introduced—that he tried and failed with you repeatedly. That your heart wasn't in it," Cavuto asked Rubio, referring to a Friday evening exclusive interview that Breitbart News' Julia Hahn had with Chris Crane, an active duty Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer and the current president of the National ICE Council.rent president of the National ICE Council.

Iran launches ballistic missiles during military exercise

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 12:00 PM PST

Iran's Revolutionary Guard launched several ballistic missiles in recent days as part of a military exercise showing off the rogue nation's power, the official IRNA news agency reported on Tuesday.

The missiles launched today appeared to have a short range of 180-250 miles, not viewed as the same threat as the November launch of medium-range ballistic missiles, first reported by Fox News late last year.

Today's launch would not violate Iran's nuclear deal signed with the U.S. but does breach a U.N. security council resolution, officials tell Fox News. That resolution bars Iran from working on any ballistic missiles.

Subject: The Price of Resettling Refugees in America

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 11:30 AM PST

The sovereignty of America is quietly being eroded as details have emerged surrounding the Obama administrations proposed budget for 2017 in regards to the resettlement of refugees and illegal aliens in our cities and towns. In early February of 2016 the Obama administration unveiled their plans under the innocuous sounding budget proposal for fiscal year 2017 (FY 2017) titled the Administration For Children and Families Refugee and Entrant Assistance program.

The Refugee and Entrant Assistance account, according to the proposal, helps refugees, asylees, Cuban and Haitian entrants, Survivors of torture, Special Immigrant Visa holders, and trafficking victims to become integrated and successful members of American society. The requested budget by the President for fiscal year 2017, which begins October 1, 2016, is $2,184,860,000. According to the White House over $2 billion in funds is needed in order to "support a total of 213,000 'humanitarian arrivals'in FY 2017, including 100,000 refugees, consistent with the administrations commitment to admit at least this number of refugees in 2017."

Moreover, the account is also responsible for coordinating and implementing the care and placement of illegal aliens, which the administration refers to as "Unaccompanied Alien Children" (UC) who are apprehended by immigration authorities while their immigration cases are pending and referred to the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). The UC program provides shelter, counseling, medical care, legal services, and other support services to children in ORR custody. Meaning, not only is the administration not deporting these individuals, but they are also paying for their legal services in order to challenge in court the very laws they have just broken. The FY 2017 request also includes $1,226,000,000 in base funding for the UC program, which is an increase of $278,000,000 from FY 2016 enacted level (of $948,000,000) and the same total resource level.

Ohio lost 112,500 jobs due to trade with TPP countries

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 11:00 AM PST

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ohio lost 112,500 jobs in 2015 resulting from the United States' trade deficit with countries that are part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, according to an analysis by the Economic Policy Institute.

That places Ohio sixth, in terms of the percentage of jobs lost to trade with TPP countries, among the 50 states and the District of Columbia ranked in the report released Thursday by the liberal Washington, D.C.-based think tank. The lost jobs represent nearly 2.2 percent of employment in Ohio, according to the analysis.

The total number of lost jobs includes those directly and indirectly impacted by the trade deficit with TPP countries. It also includes the number of jobs EPI says would have been created through the multiplier or "respending" effect had trade with those countries been more balanced.

The TPP is a free trade agreement between the United States and 11 partnership countries, including Canada, Mexico, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. While the countries have reached final agreement on the trade accord, it probably will not go into effect for several months. The agreement must clear several hurdles, including final ratification by Congress.

Re-Surfaced Sex Allegation Could Be Hillary Clinton's BIGGEST NIGHTMARE

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 10:30 AM PST

As Hillary Clinton faces potential criminal charges during an FBI probe of her illegal use of a home email server to transmit classified information, you would think it couldn't get any worse for her.

But now, in political circles we're hearing that in important Democratic primary states such as Iowa, insiders are digging into the extensive record of scandals Bill and Hillary Clinton accumulated during their more than four decades in politics. One in particular just resurfaced, and it could have devastating consequences!

Bill Clinton reportedly had an affair with a prostitute in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her name is Bobbie Ann Williams, and she – along with her family – have passed multiple lie-dictator tests when asked if Clinton is the father of her illegitimate son Danny.

Buddy Young, a former Arkansas State Trooper, has admitted that in 1983, he drove Clinton and Bobbie to her mother's home near Hot Springs for an extended, intimate visit while the mother was out-of-town. Both were paid $400 each, plus a $50 tip.

What makes the story so compelling is, the Danny also looks like Bill!

Governor Larry Hogan Submits Third Supplemental Budget

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 10:15 AM PST

Reflects Administration's Commitment to Higher Education, K-12 Education and the Prevention and Treatment of Heroin Addiction

ANNAPOLIS, MD –
Governor Larry Hogan today introduced a third supplemental budget for FY 2017 that provides additional financial backing for several administration priorities such as K-12 education, new construction at five University System of Maryland institutions and $3 million in new funding for heroin addiction prevention and treatment programs.

"Education has and always will be a top priority for our administration, and moving forward with these important projects at Maryland universities will benefit college students for decades," said Governor Hogan. "Additionally, as part of an agreement with members of the General Assembly, we are providing $13.8 million in additional one-time K-12 education funding, including $12.7 million for Baltimore City schools and $1.1 million for Calvert County. With this supplemental submitted and a number of critical issues and priorities addressed, we look forward to seeing the budget pass smoothly through the Senate and House over the final weeks of session."

The third supplemental for FY 2017 includes the following K-12 education components as well as $46.2 million for higher education projects:

$13.8 million in one-time supplemental K-12 education funding for systems with declining enrollment

$12.7 million for Baltimore City schools

$1.1 million for Calvert County schools

$4.7 million for the new Student Services Support Building at Morgan State University

$1.3 million to renovate the Percy Julian Science Building at Coppin State University

$5 million for the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building at UMBC

$3.5 million for the School of Pharmacy and Allied Heath at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore

$31.7 million for the Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Education Facility at the Universities at Shady Grove

Offsetting these additions to the budget are new savings identified by the Hogan administration. Improvement in Maryland's economy over the past several months has resulted in fewer Marylanders enrolling in Medicaid, allowing the administration to redirect $58.1 million previously allocated for the program toward the governor's education priorities.

Other important additions to the FY 2017 budget included in the governor's third supplemental are the following:
To help fight the heroin epidemic ravaging communities across Maryland, $3 million has been included in the budget to support drug addiction treatment services in prisons, to reduce drug-related crime and recidivism.

The administration has committed $13.8 million to the Department of Human Resources for a Shared Human Services Platform to replace outdated, cumbersome, and inefficient mainframe computer systems. This investment will making it possible for the department and other agencies to significantly enhance and modernize the delivery of essential services.

Based on projected revenues and planned expenditure in Governor Hogan's budget, Maryland is forecast to end FY 2017 with a general fund balance of $303 million.

Danny Williams: Man Claiming To Be Bill Clinton’s Illegitimate Son Could Mean Big Trouble For Hillary Clinton’s Campaign

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 10:00 AM PST

Danny Williams has long claimed to be the illegitimate son of Bill Clinton, and now the 27-year-old black man from Arkansas is putting new pressure on the former President and his presidential-hopeful wife.

Danny's mother, a prostitute working in Arkansas in the mid-1980s, claimed that she had sex with Bill Clinton when he was the governor of Arkansas. Though her allegations date back to the 1990s, Danny Williams is now reviving the story in what appears to be a bid for attention and acknowledgement.

Williams has started a Facebook page as a public figure, seemingly putting pressure on Bill Clinton to acknowledge him as a son.

"My name is Danney Lee Williams, I'm the son of the 42nd President of the United States -Bill Clinton. He abandon me at birth for political gain," he wrote, apparently using an alternate spelling of his first name.

Jew Stabs Arab Terrorist To Death With His Own Knife

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 09:53 AM PST

A Jewish man was stabbed by an Arab terrorist in Petah Tikvah on Tuesday afternoon, but succeeded in fighting back and killing his attacker.

The incident occurred along the central Israeli city's Habaron Hirsch Street; the stab victim was evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in moderate condition.

According to eye witnesses, the Arab terrorist attacked the Jewish man, stabbing him repeatedly. But his victim fought back, pulling the knife from his own neck, and stabbing the attacker to death with his own weapon.

A senior paramedic with the Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service described seeing "a haredi man, aged around 40, fully conscious and suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body."

Azriel Gross said he provided the victim with emergency first aid treatment, before he was evacuated to hospital.

He said the attacker, an Arab man in his 20s, had been "neutralized" at the site.

It was the first of two terror attacks in Israel in quick succession late Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff Babeu: Obama has ‘handcuffed’ Border Patrol

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 09:45 AM PST

FLORENCE, AZ - Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu denounced the Obama administration Tuesday, accusing the White House of preventing border agents from enforcing immigration laws.

Babeu, flanked by Border Patrol agents and union leaders, said high-traffic smuggling routes are not appropriately staffed and laid into the administration for failed leadership.

The sheriff denounced the politicization of immigration enforcement at a news conference at PCSO's Florence headquarters.

National Border Patrol Labor Council President Brandon Judd picked up on that theme, saying the agency is at a crossroads.

"We are either going to be a specialized law enforcement agency dedicated to enforcing our nation's immigration laws or a political arm of the administration," Judd said.

He said because the Obama administration failed to convince the American public to pass immigration reform, "the president is bypassing Congress by legislating through policy. These policies in essence are granting amnesty to thousands, if not millions, of persons who enter the country illegally."

Judd alleged the administration has engaged in a campaign to mislead the American people to believe our borders are secure.

"He (Pres. Obama) has manipulated the data, had agents assigned to low traffic areas and attempted to quiet dissent by calling those who question his approach as misinformed without offering an evidence to support these allegations."

According to figures Babeu released Tuesday, traffic of illegal immigrants in the first four months of this fiscal year is up by 25 percent. He said there's been a 102 percent increase in unaccompanied juveniles. Babeu said.

"What we see from this administration is an actual reduction at a time we should be providing more support to secure our border," Babeu said.

SMOKING GUN: Hillary Emails Betrayed Murdered Ambassador's Plans, Location From Ellen Sauerbrey

Everyone in the State Department with a security clearance is trained about the handling of classified material.  Is it possible to believe that these people did not even recognize that the schedule and whereabouts of a diplomat in one of the most dangerous posts in the world was not classified information??  Why have they not been indictedHave you read about these emails in The Sun or seen it on ABC, NBC, CBS?
SMOKING GUN: Hillary Emails Betrayed Murdered Ambassador's Plans, Location –
'He will wait 2-3 more hours, then revisit the decision on departure'
(Breitbart) – An email containing the whereabouts and plans of murdered U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens passed through Hillary Clinton's private server, dispatches released Monday in the final group of messages from Clinton's emails reveal.
The email was actually first released last May but was contained in Monday's batch as well, serving as a reminder that numerous emails sent to Clinton's private address betrayed Stevens' location while he was stationed in arguably one of the most dangerous zones in the world for an American diplomat.
The email in question was written Sunday, April 10, 2011 by State employee Timmy Davis and sent to the State email addresses of other employees, including Clinton's then-foreign policy aide, Jacob Sullivan and Clinton's senior aide.
Abedin forwarded the message to Clinton. At the time, Stevens was the U.S. envoy to the Libyan rebels.
The dispatch read:
The situation in Ajdabiyah has worsened to the point where Stevens is considering departure from Benghazi. The envoy's delegation is currently doing a phased checkout (paying the hotel bills, moving some comms to the boat, etc). He will monitor the situation to see if it deteriorates further, but no decision has been made on departure. He will wait 2-3 more hours, then revisit the decision on departure.
The email is one of several giving away Stevens' location and movements.
A March 27, 2011 email released last year was titled, "Chris Stevens mission." It divulged: "The current game plan is for Mr. Stevens to move no later than Wednesday from Malta to Benghazi. He will stage offshore initially for a one day visit during which he will have meetings with TNC interlocutors and get a sense of the situation on the ground. The goal of this one day trip is for him to lay the groundwork for a stay of up to 30 days."
An April 8, 2011 email was forwarded to Clinton revealing the "security situation in Benghazi remains quiet. Chris Stevens & team are in the hotel, moving only for meetings as required."
An April 22, 2011 email revealed Stevens was on the road: "I want to let you know about a temporary rotation in Benghazi. TNC Envoy Chris Stevens has been on the road since March 13, when he began his outreach mission, and has been in Benghazi since April 5."
An April 24, 2011 email has the exact time of a Stevens meeting: ""Stevens will be meeting with MFA in one hour and will make a written request for better security at the hotel and for better security-related coordination. He still feels comfortable in the hotel. They are looking into the idea of moving into a villa, but that is some way off."

Ex-Apple CEO: Trump's smarter than critics think

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 09:30 AM PST

While real estate mogul Donald Trump is known for controversial statements, the GOP front-runner's persona may be a strategically formulated facade, according to former Apple CEO John Sculley.

"What Donald does is he understands, just like Steve Jobs did, the master of perception," Sculley told "Closing Bell" on Monday. "He can create something where people don't care about the facts; what they care about is that he's appealing to the disappearing middle class."

The former executive said Monday that Trump's "smarter than the critics are giving him credit for." He predicts that in the scenario where Trump becomes the Republican nominee he will "pivot."

"He will change the perception for himself to be much more presidential; he still won't worry about the facts," Sculley said. "But he will come across much more as a leader and presidential than he's tried to."

GOP Elites Secretly Meet and Plot to STEAL the 2016 Election

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 09:00 AM PST

(Washington Post) – The presentation is an 11th-hour rebuttal to the fatalism permeating the Republican establishment: Slide by slide, state by state, it calculates how Donald Trump could be denied the nomination.

Marco Rubio wins Florida. John Kasich wins Ohio. Ted Cruz notches victories in the Midwest and Mountain West. And the results in California and other states are jumbled enough to leave Trump three dozen delegates short of the 1,237 required — forcing a contested convention in Cleveland in July.

The slide show, shared with The Washington Post by two operatives advising one of a handful of anti-Trump super PACs, encapsulates the newly emboldened view of many GOP leaders and donors. They see a clearer path to stopping Trump following his two losses and two narrower-than-expected wins on Saturday.

Law Enforcement Investigating Possible Embezzlement From Delmar PTA

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 07:26 AM PST

Law Enforcement are conducting an investigation referencing allegations of funding missing from the Delmar Elementary PTA.

Sources said, at Monday night's meeting we were shocked and dismayed that one of our own parents allegedly stole thousands of dollars from the PTA account.

Also statedone of our own parents allegedly stole thousands of dollars from the PTA account that we as parent and volunteers worked so hard to raise.

They went on to say, This is not a revenge plot yet a lesson that you do not steel from children.

No charges have officially been filed as of yet.

Poll: Marylanders Approve Of Gov. Hogan; Senate Race Is Dead Heat

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 08:45 AM PST

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Another good grade for Governor Larry Hogan from Maryland voters. A new poll shows 70% of Marylanders think he's doing a good job but he's not getting his way with the Democrat-led GeneralAssembly.

Political reporter Pat Warren reports there's trouble ahead.

The voters may love him but there's static in the State House.

In typical fashion, the session starts with the Republican governor and Democrat leadership vowing to get along—and in typical fashion, more than halfway through the session they're butting heads.

"They're calling me names downstairs; there's a lot of partisanship going on downstairs, a lot of fingerpointing. I don't let it bother me. We're focused on trying to get things done," Hogan said.

A newly-released Gonzalez poll gives Hogan a 70% approval rating. That's up three points from January.

Subject: Police search for suspect in Kansas quadruple homicide

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 08:30 AM PST

The man being hunted by police in connection with a quadruple homicide on Monday night is now suspected in the death of a fifth man on Tuesday.

Officials said Pablo Serrano-Vitorino, who may be armed with an AK-47, may be responsible for the shooting death of a 49-year-old Missouri man in his Montgomery County home, ABC17 reported. The murder occurred near where Serrano-Vitorino abandoned his pickup truck.

Montgomery County schools were on lockdown Tuesday.

Officials said Serrano-Vitorino, 36, was a neighbor of the four men shot and killed on Monday, according to FOX4. Authorities said he was believed to be at the Kansas City, Kan. house when the shooting unfolded.

Gun rights issues debated in Md.

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 08:15 AM PST

WASHINGTON — People on both sides of the gun rights issue lined up to attend hearings on proposals on everything — from banning anyone on the no-fly list from getting a firearm, to a ban on weapons on college campuses.

Rep. Chris Van Hollen, a Democrat running for U.S. Senate, appeared to testify in favor of a bill he's championed on the federal level: barring those on the terror-watch list — the so called "no fly list" — from being able to obtain firearms.

Speaking to reporters before heading into the Maryland Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee, Van Hollen said "it's just common sense that if you've been found to be a danger to the community and you can't get on an airplane, then you shouldn't be able to get a semi-automatic weapon."

But a gun rights supporter, who would only identify himself as Dan from the Eastern Shore, said the no-fly list is deeply flawed.

And so is the bill being heard in Annapolis, he said.

Paula Jones – Truth About Bill’s Women Would ‘Destroy’ Hillary’s Political Career

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 08:00 AM PST

The "truth" about Bill Clinton's affairs and alleged affairs would "destroy" Hillary Clinton's political career, declares Paula Jones, the former Arkansas state employee who sued President Clinton for sexual harassment.

Jones made the statements in an interview with Breitbart senior investigative reporter and Jerusalem bureau chief Aaron Klein. The interview aired on Tuesday exclusively on Breitbart News Daily, the radio program hosted by Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon.

Klein asked Jones whether she believes female voters should be concerned about the allegations that Hillary was complicit in covering up her husband's ill treatment of women, including Jones herself.

Jones responded, addressing female voters:

Clinton: Public distrust 'painful'

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 07:45 AM PST

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton admitted that it is "painful" to see polling showing that low percentages of Americans view her as honest and trustworthy.

"I am not a natural politician, in case you haven't noticed, unlike my husband or President Obama. I have to do the best that I can," Clinton said during Wednesday's Univision/CNN Democratic debate in Miami.

"It's painful for me to hear that, and I do take responsibility. When you are in public life, even if you believe it's an opinion that you think is not fair or founded, you do have to take responsibility."

The question came in response to a new Washington Post poll that found just 37 percent of Americans view Clinton as honest and trustworthy.

She argued that she's committed herself to helping people in order to "demonstrate by my past actions and present level of commitment and plans that people can count on me."

Limbaugh: If Trump wins, ‘they’ll be talking impeachment on Day 2’

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 07:00 AM PST

'Obama is only getting away with it because the Republican Party is non-existent'

PALM BEACH, Florida –
Responding to a caller's fear that Donald Trump could be an authoritarian president in the mold of Barack Obama, radio host Rush Limbaugh said both the Republican and Democratic Parties will "be talking impeachment on Day Two" of any executive order should Trump win the White House.

"I'm telling you that if Trump gets elected, you're gonna see more unity between the Republicans and Democrats in stopping any Trump authoritarianism than you have ever seen in your life," Limbaugh said on his national broadcast Tuesday.

"Because they're gonna hate it, they're gonna despise the guy, and they're gonna align together to stop him if he tries executive orders."

Limbaugh noted there are many establishment Republicans still in office, and they would fiercely oppose any executive orders from Trump, despite the fact the current GOP-controlled Congress is giving Obama a free pass.

Sen. Cardin backs ‘justified’ 5.3 percent pay raise for feds next year

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 06:53 AM PST

Add Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) to the list of congressmen calling for a higher pay raise for federal employees in fiscal 2017. Many feds could avoid the ongoing battle over locality pay locations, he said, if Congress approved higher, across the board raises.

"Locality pay doesn't make a lot of sense," Cardin said during a March 7 town hall meeting with employees at the Food and Drug Administration. "It doesn't. There are people who live in higher cost areas that are not getting that than people who live in the areas that are getting it. What we're trying to do is get a review of this in an objective sense to make the pay more realistic to the needs."

Cardin addressed a question from one employee who moved from Houston, Texas to Maryland to work for the FDA. In Houston, he received a locality pay adjustment. But he doesn't get one in Maryland, where the cost-of-living is much higher than it is in Texas, he said.

The Federal Salary Council voted in November to change some of the criteria for studying and adding new locations as federal locality pay areas. The Federal Pay Agent added 13 new locations in the fall, bringing the total number of locality pay areas to 47.

FLASHBACK: Obama Insulted Nancy Reagan on Day One

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 06:45 AM PST

President Barack Obama's decision to skip Nancy Reagan's funeral in California on Friday in favor of attending the South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in Texas is not the first time Obama has insulted the former First Lady.

On Nov. 7, 2008, at his very first press conference after winning the election, President-elect Obama cracked a nasty joke at Nancy Reagan's expense, referring to stories that she consulted an astrologer in the White House.

Obama was answering a question from a journalist who had asked him whether he had spoken to any of his predecessors. Obama's flippant, contemptuous response is recorded in the transcript of the event:

QUESTION: Thank you for asking. Here's my question. I'm wondering what you're doing to get ready. Have you spoke to any living ex-presidents, what books you might be reading?…

OBAMA: … In terms of speaking to former presidents, I have spoken to all of them that are living. Obviously, President Clinton — I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about, you know, doing any seances.

I have re-read some of Lincoln's writings, who's always an extraordinary inspiration.

Explaining The Small Business Failure Rate

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 06:37 AM PST

Statistics about business success aren't reassuring.

About 80 percent of new businesses fail in the first 18 months, according to Bloomberg Business research. During the economic meltdown of 2008, for the first time in decades more businesses closed than were started.

"What business owners don't seem to understand is that what's required, not only to survive but to thrive, is within their control," says Pamela Herrmann, author of "The Customer Manifesto: How Business Has Failed Customers And What It Takes To Earn Lasting Loyalty."

"The typical business owner has no idea how to create leverage, how to utilize new technologies, how to strategize to be competitive, or how to stop the hemorrhaging of cash in the form of failed online-marketing investments."

Herrmann is co-founder with Patty Dominguez of CREATE Buzz (www.CreateBuzzNow.com), which is changing the way small businesses connect with customers – both online and offline. Dominguez and Herrmann review four business mistakes – and ways to correct them:

• Missing the biggest revenue opportunity. Much of traditional marketing focuses on attracting new customers. "But the biggest revenue opportunity is in keeping existing customers," Dominguez says. Among the ways to keep customers loyal: Always greet them warmly. If they are waiting in line, thank them for their patience and assure them you'll be with them promptly. Make certain your business is clean and comfortable. Use words such as "my pleasure," "absolutely" and "you're most welcome" instead of "sure," "no problem" or "yeah."

• Tracking the wrong metrics. Business owners often make marketing decisions based on short-term data, like how much money is in the bank or how many sales they made last month. This is reactive — not proactive.

Herrmann and Dominguez say the way to focus on the right metrics is to ask such questions as: How many new leads did you get this month? How much did it cost you to acquire that new lead or customer? What's the average value of a single transaction?

• Failing to manage their message across all customer touch points. Most businesses are unaware of all the ways consumers use technology to find them. Businesses should create a Customer Journey Map so they can see all the touch points across all channels, measure how well they are doing and then identify gaps and opportunities.

• Being unaware of marketing fundamentals. Just like an archer tries to hit the bull's-eye, an entrepreneur tries to reach customers. No matter how many arrows that may be in her quiver, if she doesn't know how to aim, she'll probably miss. The same is true with marketing.

"You need to know who you're marketing to," Dominguez says. "Why are you marketing to them? What are their wants and needs? When you do you this effectively, you shift from sinking money into fixing problems and into growing your business through strategic decision making."

Poll: Israeli Jews favor GOP, believe Trump is pro-Israel

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 06:30 AM PST

As election season heats up in the United States, Israeli Jews and Arabs differ in their views of which American political party would be better for Israel, according to a poll released on Sunday by the Israel Democracy Institute.

A plurality of Israeli Jews believed Israel would be better off with a Republican winning the White House in November, while Israeli Arabs felt a president from the Democratic Party would be better.

Amongst Jews, 33.6% believed a Republican president was preferable, compared to 27.9% who favored a Democrat, and 38.5% who believed there would be no difference or didn't have an opinion in the matter.

In the Arab sector the preference was switched, with 37.1% responding that a Democrat would be more pro-Israel, compared to 23.2% for a GOP president, and 39.6% who believed party affiliation would not matter or had no opinion.

Israeli Jews also tended to be very favorable towards current GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, with 60.9% believing the New York billionaire was friendly towards Israel, compared to 13.9% who felt he was not.

Arabs, on the other hand, were less enthusiastic, with only 44.9% responding that Trump was friendly towards Israel.

Interestingly, the election's lone Jewish candidate, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, failed to win much support among Israelis.

GOP House Majority Leader could easily lose his seat in Congress

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 06:15 AM PST

As Rep. Kevin McCarthy has consistently displayed that he is a staunch supporter of the Obama administrations agenda, he may very well be the second consecutive Republican to be ousted from the House Majority Leader position, following the role of his predecessor, Eric Cantor.

A recent poll conducted by the Tea Party Leadership Fund shows incumbent McCarthy attaining only 52% of the conservative vote in California's 23rd District against any hypothetical conservative, without other variables involved. To make matters worse for the Congressman, this number dropping to a mere 26% support when pollee's were informed that Congressman McCarthy has "voted in favor of the $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill that allowed for the funding of Obamacare, Executive Amnesty, and Planned Parenthood." Almost 95 percent of House Republicans voted against this bill that McCarthy supported.

It is clear, now more than ever, that Republican constituents are tired of so-called conservative representatives voting in favor of the Democratic agenda. Republicans are actively awaiting a leader who will fight for the conservative ideals that this country was built on, and once thrived upon.

Trump Effect: Ford Scraps Mexico Plant 1000 Jobs Coming Back To USA

Trump's not the President, but Ford, in response to the candidate's constant criticism of outsourcing jobs to Mexico, has now announced that they have changed course and plan to bring back 1,000 jobs to beleaguered Youngstown, Ohio.

What's Really Going on Between Trump and Romney?

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 06:00 AM PST

When Mitt Romney launched into attack mode against Donald Trump, it turned heads. The sight of mild mannered Mitt hurling charges like "phony" and "fraud" at the GOP frontrunner was not only out of character, it was without purpose. To whom was Romney speaking? Establishment Republicans and pundits have already made up their minds, and won't be voting for Trump no matter what Romney says. Grassroots conservatives who view Romney as the embodiment of everything wrong with the GOP establishment were likely encouraged that their new Trump coalition has the establishment worried enough to bring out the "big guns." The speech left many wondering: how could Romney be so tone deaf? Well, maybe he wasn't.

FEC filings suggest a surprising degree of overlap in the underpinnings of the Romney 2012 campaign and the Trump 2016 effort.

Both campaigns use the same Establishment-linked bank, Chain Bridge Bank, located in McLean, VA. Not a big surprise for Romney, but for New York based Trump?

Coach was disappointed with players’ disrespect, so he lined up war heroes directly in front of them

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 05:30 AM PST

Basketball Coach Buzz Williams of Virginia Tech was disappointed with the overall state of respect among college basketball players. He had noticed for years that most college players would not pay attention during the National Anthem.

As we've all seen, some do stand in full respect. But many don't: they sway along with the music, others look down at the floor, others even goof off and pay no attention. And we've all been there. Williams realized what was lacking was the reverent attitude due to those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy every day. Something we all need reminding of.

While Coach Williams couldn't sit down every team in his league, he knew he could make a difference with his own. Thus started a beautiful Veteran's Day tradition that showed his boys (face to face) to be respectful and to set an example for other players.

“WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?”

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 05:00 AM PST

By Paul Harvey

Conveniently Forgotten Facts.

Back in 1969 a group of Black Panthers decided that a fellow Black Panther named Alex Rackley needed to die. Rackley was suspected of disloyalty. Rackley was first tied to a chair. Once safely
immobilized, his friends tortured him for hours by, among other things, pouring boiling water on him.

When they got tired of torturing Rackley, Black Panther member, Warren Kimbro took Rackley outside and put a bullet in his head. Rackley's body was later found floating in a river about 25 miles north of New Haven, Connecticut. Perhaps at this point you're curious as to what happened to these Black Panthers?

In 1977, that's only eight years later, only one of the killers was still in jail. The shooter, Warren Kimbro, managed to get a scholarship to Harvard and became good friends with none other than Al Gore. He later became an assistant dean at an Eastern Connecticut State College. Isn't that something!!! As a 60's radical you can pump a bullet into someone's head and a few years later, in the same state, you can become an assistant college dean! Only in America!!!

Erica Huggins was the woman who served the Panthers by boiling the water for Mr. Rackley's torture. Some years later, Ms. Huggins was elected to a California School Board. How in the world do you think these killers got off so easily?

Maybe it was in some part due to the efforts of two people who came to the defense of the Panthers. These two people actually went so far as to shut down Yale University with demonstrations in defense of the accused Black Panthers during their trial. One of these people was none other than Bill Lan Lee. Mr. Lee, or Mr. Lan Lee, as the case may be, isn't a college dean. He isn't a member of a California School Board. He is now head of the United States Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, appointed by none
other than Bill Clinton.

OK, so who was the other Panther defender? Is this other notable Panther defender now a school board member? Is this other Panther apologist now an assistant college dean? No, neither! The other Panther defender was, like Lee, a radical law student at Yale University at the time. She is now known as The "smartest woman in the world." She is none other than the former Democratic senator from the State of New York---- our former First Lady, and the Secretary of State, the incredible, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

And now, as Paul Harvey said; "You know the rest of the story." This deserves the widest possible press.

Remember this when she runs for President!

SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH 2015-2016

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 04:30 AM PST

The Wicomico County Board of Education has announced the names of the three finalists for the next Wicomico Superintendent of Schools, and will give each finalist a busy "Day in the District" next week. Members of focus groups that will participate in interviewing the finalists learned the names of the finalists after an orientation and preparation meeting on Wednesday, March 9.

All three finalists have strong local connections, having served in Wicomico County Public Schools in various capacities during their long careers in public education. The finalists, in order of the date for their "Day in the District," are:

Monday, March 14: Dr. Cathy J. Townsend, Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services, Wicomico County Public Schools. In Wicomico, Dr. Townsend taught elementary and high school math, and worked as assistant principal and principal of Salisbury Middle, School Climate Coordinator, and Supervisor of Safe Schools. Dr. Townsend was principal of Delmar Middle and High School and Director of Special Education for Delmar School District.

Tuesday, March 15: Dr. Lorenzo L. Hughes, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction for Dorchester County Public Schools. In Wicomico, Dr. Hughes served as an assistant principal and principal of Wicomico High School. Dr. Hughes was a teacher, assistant principal and principal in Talbot County Public Schools.

Wednesday, March 16: Dr. Donna C. Hanlin, Co-Chair and Director of Assessment and Accountability, Department of Education at Shepherd University. In Wicomico, Dr. Hanlin was as a school counselor, served as assistant principal (Wicomico Middle and James M. Bennett High), principal (James M. Bennett High), and Director of Secondary Education. Dr. Hanlin was Associate Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer for Washington County Public Schools.

Each "Day in the District" will include:
An informal coffee time with local officials
Interviews with panels of Central Office administrators, principals, support staff and retirees, business leaders, teachers, parents and community leaders
A quick tour of three Wicomico schools
Lunch with students
A time to meet with media
Dinner and dialogue with the Board of Education

"The search for a new Superintendent of Wicomico County Public Schools has been top priority for the Board members this year. We are pleased with the process and excited to bring forth three qualified finalists," Board President Don Fitzgerald said. "We appreciate the investment our community is making by participating in focus groups and providing input to the Board. We look forward to making a final decision soon and helping our new Superintendent create a vision and plan for the coming year."

The Board's goal is to choose the top candidate for superintendent by around April 1, and vote to appoint the chosen candidate. The new superintendent would start work on July 1, 2016.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Fredericksen informed the Board in June 2015 that he would retire when his second four-year contract ends June 30, 2016. The Board of Education brought in the expertise of the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE) to conduct the search process. MABE held four stakeholder input sessions in October to gather the input that shaped the search for a new superintendent.

Starting in November the superintendent opening was posted widely so that qualified local, state and national candidates could apply, with the first consideration of applications by MABE on Jan. 11. The Board conducted two rounds of interviews this winter to select the three finalists for extensive interviews March 14-16 with various stakeholder groups. These groups will provide input to the Board as it prepares to choose a new superintendent.

Netanyahu: Time to Complete Security Barrier in Jerusalem Area

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 03:30 AM PST

TEL AVIV – With U.S. Vice President Joe Biden visiting Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced on Wednesday that the Jewish state will complete construction of the country's security barrier in Jerusalem and the southern West Bank.

Haaretz reports:

During security consultations held by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister's Office said it was immediately decided to close gaps in the separation barrier in the Jerusalem area, and to complete construction of the barrier in the Tarkumiya area in the South Hebron Hills.

Gaps in the separation barrier are used by Palestinians to enter Israel illegally without the proper permits. The assailant behind the Jaffa attack entered Israel illegally from a West Bank village near Qalqilya. In recent months, opposition chair MK Isaac Herzog (Zionist Union) called on Netanyahu to close the gaps and complete construction of the barrier.

Netanyahu's decision comes in the wake of a series of Palestinian terrorist attacks here in the past 24 hours.

Hey, Republicans, stop hating on Trump voters

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 02:30 AM PST

Will Republicans please stop insulting Trump voters? Just stop. I know that many hate Trump, but his voters too?

Mitt Romney derides Trump voters as "suckers." Others have sneered that Trump has an army of "low information voters" who have been "duped," and that "these people" shouldn't be able to decide on the fate of a Grand Old Party. Trump's voters, the political class screams, have "hijacked the Republican Party."

Another conservative commentator complained the other day that many of these voters have never even voted before and they "are not even Republicans." Huh?

Isn't it a good thing that Trump is steering millions of new voters away from the Democrats and attracting them to the GOP? I thought we were told Republicans lost in 2012 because so many conservatives stayed home. Here they are.

The GOP's mighty establishment wing – the people who get rich off the game of politics -- pretend that theirs is the party of the working class, of blue collar virtue, and hard work, but now that the workers they supposedly represent are in revolt, apparently the problem is the voters not the party. This is insanity.

CLINTON BODY BAGS

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 03:18 AM PST

For those too young to remember , a reminder of the Clinton history and the list of strange deaths of people close to Bill and Hillary.  The country does not need to start on this road again with the election of Hillary.

Just a quick refresher course lest we forget what has happened to many "friends" of the Clintons.

1- James McDougal - Clintons convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr's investigation.
2 - Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown .. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.
3 - Vince Foster - Former White House councilor, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.
4 - Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash.  A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors.  The rest of the people on the plane also died.  A few days later the air Traffic controller commited suicide.
5 - C. Victor Raiser, II - Raiser, a major player in the Clinton fund raising organization died in a private plane crash in July 1992.

6 - Paul Tulley - Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock , September 1992.  Described by Clinton as a "dear friend and trusted advisor".
7 - Ed Willey - Clinton fundraiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head.  Ruled a suicide.  Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House.  Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.

Six Sentenced in $800,000 Auto Loan Scheme

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 01:30 AM PST

CHARLESTON, SC — United States Attorney William N. Nettles stated today that six individuals have been sentenced for their roles in an auto loan scheme involving over $800,000. Sentenced for conspiracy to commit bank fraud were William Brian Toadvine, age 34; Donald Toadvine, age 58, both of Mt. Pleasant; and Floyd Hargrove, age 41, from Bluffton. Three others, Daniel Kosmer Jr., of Greenville; Joyce Pozniko, 58, of Hanahan; and Elizabeth Donnelly, 47, of Beaufort, were all sentenced for providing false statements on a loan application. A seventh individual, Colin Slaven, age 38, has pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and still awaits sentencing.

The defendants were convicted for their roles in a scheme to fraudulently obtain auto loans by providing false documentation to over 16 different banks and credit unions. Over the course of the scheme, the defendants obtained over $800,000 from the banks, at times using the proceeds from one loan to pay off others, in an attempt to keep the scheme running. All defendants were sentenced by United States District Judge Richard M. Gergel, who sentenced William and Donald Toadvine each to 24 months' incarceration, to be followed by five years' supervised release. Floyd Hargrove was sentenced to 12 months' incarceration, to be followed by five years' supervised release. Kosmer, Pozniko, and Donnelly were each sentenced to three years of probation or supervised release. A sentencing date for Slaven has yet to be scheduled.

The case was investigated by agents of the FBI. Assistant United States Attorney Nathan Williams of the Charleston office prosecuted the case.

Tuesday's Biggest Loser

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 12:30 AM PST

Tuesday night's big winners were Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders. But who was last night's biggest loser?

One candidate who did not walk away a winner from Super Tuesday 2 was Marco Rubio, who at last count looks likely to pick up a total of one (1) delegate from the evening's potential of 150.

Rubio failed to secure enough votes to qualify for delegates in every state but Hawaii.

Rubio's failure to secure more than one delegate on Tuesday night, and his stunning loss to John Kasich in conservative Mississippi means that even if he wins Florida, which is not terribly likely, his path to the nomination is basically improbable.

"Each State, in ratifying the Constitution,

is considered as a sovereign body, independent of all others,
and only to be bound by its own voluntary act.
In this relation, then, the new Constitution will,
if established, be a FEDERAL, and not a NATIONAL constitution."

It's Beginning to Look Like 2008

In a stunning upset victory, Bernie Sanders defeated Hillary Clinton in Michigan. The big data website Five Thirty Eight, which gained critical acclaim for its incredibly accurate coverage of the 2012 election, projected that Hillary had a greater than 99 percent chance of winning the Michigan Primary. Despite those long odds, Bernie defeated Hillary by about 20,000 votes, dominating the male vote count.

This stunning upset does not bode well for Clinton, whose losing personality, gravelly tone, and establishment connections make her incredibly reliant on large donors. This is great news for Republicans, who will now have to watch Clinton expend significant resources to defeat the wild haired Woodstock Socialist Senator from Vermont. If she continues to falter, we could end up seeing a replay of 2008.

Shocking New Message From ISIS All Americans Should Hear

Posted: 09 Mar 2016 10:30 PM PST

President Obama's favorite "guys in trucks riding around the desert" are back, and they're issuing a warning. An attack is coming on the United States:

An English-speaking ISIS jihadi has warned America they will be attacked 'very soon' and 'by Allah's permission do to your country what we did to Paris'.

In a chilling new ISIS video, he warns the US and President Barack Obama that the terror group will 'kill, slaughter and burn your people'.

The jihadi tells America it can expect an atrocity similar to the massacre in Paris in November in which 130 people were murdered in a wave of shootings and suicide bomb attacks.

Will President Obama do what it takes to keep Americans safe, or will he issue more proclamations decrying Islamophobia and reasonable suspicion of those likely to commit terror attacks?

Governor Larry Hogan Urges Legislators to Enact Common-Sense Mandate Reform

Posted: 09 Mar 2016 10:00 PM PST

Department of Budget and Management Analysis Shows Maryland Lawmakers Have Introduced $3.7 Billion in New Mandated Spending

ANNAPOLIS, MD –
Governor Larry Hogan today unveiled new analysis by the Maryland Department of Budget and Management (DBM) that highlights the detrimental impact of $3.7 billion in proposed new mandated spending from the General Assembly. Based on information from the Department of Legislative Services (DLS) – a branch of the General Assembly – Maryland lawmakers averaged $80 million in newly proposed spending per day over the first half of the 90-day legislative session.

Driving this proposed increase in mandated spending are 85 pieces of legislation that have been introduced since the start of the legislative session on January 13.

DBM analysis also shows that if passed, this new spending proposed by the General Assembly would increase the state's structural deficit by 350 percent to $2.8 billion, or $2.2 billion more than in December 2015. At Governor Hogan's inauguration, the state faced a structural deficit of $5.1 billion, which was 90 percent eliminated by the end of his first year in office.

"Reducing mandated spending increases is one of the most serious and most important measures before the legislature this year," said Governor Hogan. "Unfortunately, it would appear that some members of the General Assembly are trying to force us into the same failed, irresponsible policies that got us into this fiscal crisis in the first place. This is completely unacceptable - it is the exact opposite of what our administration was sent here to accomplish - and it is the exact opposite of what Marylanders have been demanding."

In January, the Hogan administration submitted legislation (SB375 / HB449) that would provide common sense mandate reform, reduce mandated spending increases in years when revenues don't keep pace, and ensure that future budgets continue to prioritize key expenditures like education and health care.

Justice Department Has ‘Discussed’ Civil Legal Action Against Climate Change Deniers

Posted: 09 Mar 2016 09:30 PM PST

Attorney General Loretta Lynch testified Wednesday that the Justice Department has "discussed" taking civil legal action against the fossil fuel industry for "denying" the "threat of carbon emissions" when it comes to climate change.

During Lynch's testimony at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) said that he believes there are similarities between the tobacco industry denying scientific studies showing the dangers of using tobacco and companies within the fossil fuel industry denying studies allegedly showing the threat of carbon emissions. He went on to point out that under President Bill Clinton, the Justice Department brought and won a civil case against the tobacco industry, while the Obama administration has "done nothing" so far with regard to the fossil fuel industry.

Whitehouse concluded his comments by posing a question to the country's top law enforcement officer: "My question to you is, other than civil forfeitures and matters attendant to a criminal case, are there other circumstances in which a civil matter under the authority of the Department of Justice has been referred to the FBI?" Whitehouse asked.
