Watkin Jones to hit London's public market soon...

It sounds like the Welsh student accommodation developer's initial public offering is set for lift off.

Watkin Jones announced its intention to float earlier this month -

However, I understand Watkin Jones, which was founded in 1791, could announce the details of its IPO on London's AIM market imminently, possibly as early as tomorrow morning.

The float, which is being carried out by Zeus Capital and Peel Hunt, is expected to include a £131 million fundraising and could value the company at about £255 million, making it the largest listing on AIM so far this year.

Zeus Capital has also been appointed as nominated advisor to Watkin Jones, which recently named Grenville Turner, former chief executive of Countrywide, as non-executive chairman.

I have been told the Bangor-based company is likely to pay a decent dividend. I guess if your business is generating operating profits of £32.5 million on revenues of around £244 million you can see why.

Keep an eye on the RNS tomorrow for the juicy details...
