America Has Become A "Parasitocracy" Posted: 21 Jul 2016 09:00 PM PDT Dread and Denial So, let's return to the discussion you can't have with your congressman, your mailman, or your barmaid. It's the important one. It concerns what the Fed is really up to. Eight years after achieving independence, a State modeled after the British merchant state was established in the US. It took a while for the Deep State to consolidate itself within it, a process that was accelerated greatly in the run-up to and aftermath of WW I. We have been connecting dots… bringing new readers into the conversation and organizing our own thoughts. Already, you have met the zombies and the cronies… and you know that the government you learn about in school is not really the government you actually have. Instead, we are ruled by a group of insiders we call the "Deep State" who pay little attention to the Constitution or the "will of the people." The term Deep State is not original to us. It was first coined to describe anti-democratic elements within the military, the intelligence services, the judiciary, and the mafia that controlled the real levers of power in Kemalist Turkey. But it is being used more and more elsewhere, as people come to realize what is really going on in their own countries (today, we offer a neologism that is more descriptive). Your first reaction to the Deep State is likely to be denial or dread. "It sounds impossible," you might say. "How come I haven't heard of this?" Or: "How can we put a stop to this conspiracy?" Relax… There's nothing underhanded about it; most of it takes place in plain sight. The reason you haven't heard about the Deep State is another important dot we need to connect. To wit, there are facts. And there are myths, delusions, guesses, and opinions. More |
Two Important Articles You Should Read About Sheriff Mike Lewis Posted: 21 Jul 2016 03:58 PM PDT The Color of Suspicion Sgt. Mike Lewis of the Maryland State Police is a bull-necked, megaphone-voiced, highly caffeinated drug warrior who, on this shiny May morning outside of Annapolis, is conceding defeat. The drug war is over, the good guys have lost and he has been cast as a racist. ''This is the end, buddy,'' he says. ''I can read the writing on the wall.'' Lewis is driving his unmarked Crown Victoria down the fast lane of Route 50, looking for bad guys. The back of his neck is burnt by the sun, and he wears his hair flat and short under his regulation Stetson. ''They're going to let the N.A.A.C.P. tell us how to do traffic stops,'' he says. ''That's what's happening. There may be a few troopers who make stops solely based on race, but thisa they're going to let these people tell us how to run our department. I say, to hell with it all. I don't care if the drugs go through. I don't.'' He does, of course. Mike Lewis was born to seize crack. He grew up in Salisbury, on the Eastern Shore -- Jimmy Buffett country -- and he watched his friends become stoners and acid freaks. Not his scene. He buzz-cut his hair away and joined the state troopers when he was 19. He's a star, the hard-charger who made one of the nation's largest seizures of crack cocaine out on Route 13. He's a national expert on hidden compartments. He can tell if a man's lying, he says, by watching the pulsing of the carotid artery in his neck. He can smell crack cocaine inside a closed automobile. He's a human drug dog, a walking polygraph machine. ''I have the unique ability to distinguish between a law-abiding person and an up-to-no-good person,'' he says. ''Black or white.'' All these skills, though, he's ready to chuck. The lawsuits accusing the Maryland State Police of harassing black drivers, the public excoriation -- and most of all, the Governor of New Jersey saying that her state police profiled drivers based on race, and were wrong to do so -- have twisted him up inside. ''Three of my men have put in for transfers,'' he says. ''My wife wants me to get out. I'm depressed.'' More Today the Daily Times did an article in which the local NAACP President Mary Ashanti criticized Sheriff Lewis with statements like, Ashanti said. "That kind of statement is inflammatory and reckless." Sheriff Lewis had stated, "I'm holding Barack Hussein Obama responsible for what's going on in the country." His remarks earlier this month threaten to undermine efforts to forge greater trust between local police and the black community, said Mary Ashant. It would appear that Sheriff Lewis is experiencing a ton of backlash lately by the Press but this isn't anything new. The beginning of this article is a story from 1999. You can read the full Daily Times article HERE. |

Gohmert: Obama Stirring Up 'Racial Animosity' Posted: 21 Jul 2016 08:00 PM PDT CLEVELAND, Ohio — Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert blasted Barack Obama's handling of the recent police officer killings on Monday, arguing that he is an "accessory" to the Black Lives Matter protesters while stirring up "racial animosity." In an interview with The Daily Caller, Gohmert said, "I never dreamed that as president, [Obama] would help stir up racial animosity, even using false information." "I didn't vote for Obama," Gohmert said. "I didn't support him. But when I looked for a silver lining, I thought, 'You know what, we seem to be so close to Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream.' He had a dream that one day people would be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. And it seemed to me, we were awfully close to that." "But then we elected a president that could have been the final — and the fact that [Obama] was elected as an African-American when most people would say a white guy with his qualifications had no chance. Are you kidding?" More/Video |

Council Member: French Citizens Are "Getting Ready For War" Posted: 21 Jul 2016 07:00 PM PDT Gun club memberships quadruple after terror attacks as mood turns nasty A city councilor in southern France warns that some French citizens are gearing up for civil war as memberships of gun clubs explode in the aftermath of three massive terror attacks that have rocked the country. In an article entitled What next? Could France be facing a civil war?, author Jonathan Miller, who is an elected council member in the village of Caux, asserts that the Nice truck attack has "shaken France to the brink of a terrifying escalation." Warning that France "may be on the edge of something resembling a civil war," Miller reveals that membership in his local gun club has "quadrupled, from 200 to 800 members" in the last few months alone. Tesla's new 'master plan' defines the end of the fossil-fuel era Posted: 21 Jul 2016 06:30 PM PDT Solar power In creating its new solar solution, Musk calls for a "solar-roof-with-battery product" that allows users to generate their own power. The service would be managed by a mobile app, the plan notes. Musk adds that folding SolarCity's operations into Tesla's is necessary to make that happen. More cars As part of the plan to grow Tesla's vehicle lineup, you can expect a new, heavy-duty truck and what appears to be an all-electric solution for public transportation. "Both are in the early stages of development at Tesla and should be ready for unveiling next year," Musk writes. As noted around the same time that the Model 3 was introduced, a smaller SUV is also on the way, which will share the same platform as the 3. More |

DNCC ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL SPEAKERS FOR DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION IN PHILADELPHIA Posted: 21 Jul 2016 05:30 PM PDT Convention Will Showcase A Diverse, United, Energized Democratic Party Rallying Around Hillary Clinton in the Fight for an America That Is "Stronger Together" PHILADELPHIA – The Democratic National Convention Committee announced a list of elected officials who will address the Democratic National Convention being held in Philadelphia from July 25 to July 28. Leaders from across the country will speak about their support for Clinton's vision of an America that is stronger together and where the economy works for everyone, not just those at the top. Additional speakers will continue to be announced throughout the week. As Donald Trump continues his divisive convention in Cleveland with dangerous ideas that would pose a threat to our economy and national security, Democrats are preparing to lay out the clear stakes in this election in Philadelphia – a choice between building walls and tearing people down or an optimistic unifying vision where everyone has a role to play in building our future. Additional speakers at the Democratic National Convention Committee in alphabetical order, include:

Missouri officer Michael Flamion is paralyzed after being shot in St Louis Posted: 21 Jul 2016 05:00 PM PDT A suburban St. Louis police officer shot in the neck during a traffic stop 24 hours after five cops were slain in Dallas is paralyzed from the neck down. Michael Flamion, 31, was gunned down from behind on July 8 after stopping a man for speeding in Ballwin, an affluent Missouri town of around 30,000 residents. Antonio Taylor, 31, was arrested on suspicion of shooting the nine-year department veteran the same day after cops chased him down nearby. He is believed to have fired and hit Flamion as he walked to his squad car to run a check. More |
NAACP: Trump, Clinton Need Black Support to Win Presidency Posted: 21 Jul 2016 04:30 PM PDT CINCINNATI (AP) — Civil rights activists frustrated by police slayings of blacks across the nation are looking to flex their voting power to push for reforms. The continued alarm over how police treat black men has been a major focus of the five-day NAACP national convention that was wrapping up Wednesday for thousands of participants in Cincinnati. Members of the group that dates to 1909 compared the issue to the 1960s violence against civil rights demonstrators and mob hangings of blacks in earlier eras. Cornell William Brooks, the NAACP's president, pledged in a fiery speech Monday to end "lynching in the 21st century … practiced not with sheets and ropes but with defiled uniforms, defiled badges and defiled oaths." The convention's theme of "Our Lives Matter, Our Votes Count" underscored goals of defending black voting rights and getting out the vote in the first presidential election since black turnout helped Barack Obama twicewin the presidency. Black voters cast some 13 percent of presidential ballots in 2012, according to exit polling, and are particularly pivotal in Ohio, Florida and other swing states. More |
Democrat-funded Protests Backfire Posted: 21 Jul 2016 04:00 PM PDT The horrifying slayings of eight law enforcement officers in the past 10 days may come back to haunt Democrats funding protests against police behind the scenes in hopes of energizing black voters in November. Instead of juicing turnout for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, the unrest may wind up backfiring by whipping up public sympathy for police and creating an opportunity for Republicans to run on a law-and-order message, analysts say. "The proof of that will be on Election Day. But I would say the problem with the strategy is that it has contributed to a climate of support for law and order, and that, I think, is an immense advantage for Donald Trump," said political analyst Floyd Ciruli. "It's a theme Republicans have often used, and frankly helped elect Richard Nixon in the similarly tumultuous year of 1968," Mr. Ciruli said. "So I think this is an advantage for Trump, and I think it has contributed to his most recent strength demonstrated in a number of polls where he's at least closing the gap." A surge of Black Lives Matter protest marches pegged to the high-profile deaths of two black men shot by police in early July has been followed by attacks on officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in both cases by young black gunmen who had accused police of racism. Righting A Wrong In Ocean City? UPDATE Posted: 21 Jul 2016 03:56 PM PDT Yesterday we published an article about the political plane banners being removed in Ocean City. It had been reported that the Mayor and Council discussed this matter and also that Mayor Meehan had called Mr. Bunting based on hundreds of complaints, the original publishing by other news sources were wrong. Mayor Meehan called me moments ago to discuss the matter. While SBYNews did make attempts to speak directly with the parties involved, we were not able to make direct contact with each individual. Since the findings we had published had been published elsewhere, we believed they were accurate. So here's what I was just told happened. There was NO council agenda to discuss this matter. At the very end of the Council Meeting they called for Mayor and Council comments. That's when Mayor Meehan brought up the fact that Mr. Bunting had called him about the matter of the banners. Now, why Mr. Bunting felt it was necessary to call the Mayor about his own alleged business decision is beyond me but this is what I've been told. To be completely fair, (and I said this to Mayor Mehan) first we have Governor Hogan turning on his own party and not supporting Donald Trump. Then we have Executive Culver turning on ALL of the taxpayers in Wicomico County with free college and now YOU are, (as published elsewhere) turning on our First Amendment rights? He said, come on Joe, you know I'd never do that. I replied, yeah, well it was published everywhere else. He replied, I know, they were wrong. So there you have it. Mayor Meehan states he did NOT infringe and or make the call to Mr. Bunting. Instead he stated that it was Mr. Bunting who called him. I will add, The Coastal Dispatch recently "updated" their original article. "It's just not worth the aggravation of people not being able to handle the political system. I agreed to just not accept any political ads whatsoever anymore. I'm going to lay low and not do any political ads. People just can't handle it anymore and there's so much hate in this world. Today's parties want to fight each other and just be mean to each other," Bunting said. "It's not worth it. There's just no tolerance anymore for opposing viewpoints. People don't understand people buy advertising, just like they do in The Dispatch. These weren't vulgar ads in anyway. If the Democrats want them now, guess what they don't get them. Where's the American way? I've never seen anything so nasty. People are scared to say what they really feel anymore. Everyone is just too sensitive. It's a shame." Publishers Notes: The alleged people who allegedly complained are NOT the people buying advertising. As a businessman, I would have never made the decision to STOP. Something smells very funny about the flip flopping of this entire package, wouldn't you all agree? When I spoke to the Mayor he said he had TWO people complain, not 200, as implied by the local media. Anyhow, it is what it is. UPDATE: According to The Dispatch, complaint emails sent to city officials, the city council and Meehan were in the 'hundreds'. This quote was published world wide in The Daily Mail today. As I mentioned earlier, Mayor Meehan stated to me today he had only received TWO complaints. |
Posted: 21 Jul 2016 03:30 PM PDT OCEAN CITY — To say that Charles "Buddy" Jenkins has been one of the most influential figures in the history of Ocean City is almost an understatement when you look at the sheer number of different things that he and his company, Bayshore Development Corporation, own and operate today. From the two Jolly Roger Amusement Parks and the beloved Thrasher's French Fries to the iconic Ocean City Fishing Pier, multiple hotels and a slew of other businesses, Jenkins has already cemented his place in the local history books by creating a significant portion of the landscape of this seaside resort that attracts millions of people from all over the globe each year. Yet, Jenkins is a quiet and unassuming figure who can sometimes be found standing on the porch of his office at Jolly Roger Amusement Park looking out over the masses of families from all walks of life letting go from life's stresses and making memories together. It's evident if you stand next to him on that porch just how important the idea of family is to him. Talking with Jenkins for any length of time is like getting a valuable history lesson on our region, and that conversation can steer into the realms of the deeply intellectual and even somewhat philosophical. Yet, at the root of it, Jenkins says he is a do-er, and all that he has done over his long and successful career has simply been choked up to doing what his parents taught him to do. More |

Is The Party Over For Bushism? Posted: 21 Jul 2016 03:00 PM PDT Neither George W. Bush, the Republican Party nominee in 2000 and 2004, nor Jeb, the dethroned Prince of Wales, will be in Cleveland. Nor will John McCain or Mitt Romney, the last two nominees. These former leaders would like it thought that high principle keeps them away from a GOP convention that would nominate Donald Trump. Petulance, however, must surely play a part. Bush Republicans feel unappreciated, and understandably so. For Trump's nomination represents not only a rejection of their legacy but a repudiation of much of post-Cold War party dogma. America crossed a historic divide and entered a new era. Even should Trump lose, there is likely no going back. Trump has attacked NAFTA, MFN for China and the South Korea trade deal as badly negotiated. But the problem lies not just in the treaties but in the economic philosophy upon which they were based. Free-trade globalism was a crucial component of the New World Order, whose creation George H. W. Bush called the new great goal of U.S. foreign policy at the United Nations in October of 1991. Bush II and Jeb are also free-trade zealots. But when the American people discovered that the export of their factories and jobs to low-wage countries, and sinking salaries, were the going price of globalism, they rebelled, turned to Trump, and voted for him to put America first again. Does anyone think that if Trump loses, we are going back to Davos-Dubai ideology, and Barack Obama's Trans-Pacific Partnership is our future? Even Hillary Clinton has gotten the message and dumped TPP. Economic nationalism is the future. More |

Man Who Attacked Store Owner During Riots Pleads Guilty Posted: 21 Jul 2016 02:30 PM PDT BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) — A 23-year-old man pleaded guilty Monday to the arson of a Baltimore food market amid the riots and unrest that broke out following the death of Freddie Gray last year, authorities said. As part of a plea deal, Trevon Green acknowledged instigating the arson of the market located on North Monroe Street, ransacking a liquor store on West North Avenue and then assaulting the store's owner, according to a news release from the United States Attorney's Office. If a judge approves that agreement at his sentencing hearing on Aug. 22, Green will spend 70 months in prison. He will also be ordered to pay back nearly $335,000 in damages. "Trevon Green was not a protester, he was a criminal who enjoyed committing gratuitous violence," said U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein in a statement. "He looted a liquor store and kicked the defenseless store owner in the head, then he set fire to a food market." More |
Report: Deportations of Criminal Aliens Down 60 Percent Since 2011 Posted: 21 Jul 2016 02:00 PM PDT While the Obama Administration says its immigration priorities focus on the removal of criminal aliens, a new analysis of government data reveals that — in addition to a ten-year low in overall deportations — criminal deportations are plummeting as well. According to a Center for Immigration Studies review of recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement data this fiscal year through the third week of June, ICE has made 168,781 deportations, down from the same point in 2015. ICE is on pace to hit 230,000 deportations by the end of the fiscal year, the lowest number of deportations since 2006. "These statistics reveal an alarming deterioration in immigration enforcement. The economic, social, and public safety consequences of this surely will be a lamentable legacy of the Obama administration," the report, authored by CIS' director of policy studies Jessica Vaughan, reads. The Daily Record reports (http://bit.ly/29T1l6P) Ariana Esposito was training at the police academy in early 2015 when her boyfriend, Shaun Bridges, was charged in California with stealing $800,000 in bitcoins. Maryland State Police forbids employees associating with convicted felons. However, the lawsuit says Lt. Daniel Fairburn wrote in an email to Esposito that if she married Bridges, an exception would likely be made for her. Bridges and Esposito married on April 12, 2015. On April 18, she notified the state of her marital status. More |

Fewer People Are Starting Their Own Businesses Posted: 21 Jul 2016 12:00 PM PDT Reversing growth in small business activity for the first time in four years. Bad news for aspiring entrepreneurs: Now might not be the best time to launch your own business. Total entrepreneurial activity in the U.S.—measured by the number of people starting and operating new businesses—fell to 12% in 2015, from 14% in 2014, according to a report released Tuesday by Babson College. The drop reverses upward growth in small business activity during the previous four years. The findings could indicate that employees are satisfied with their jobsand unwilling to strike out on their own. But the research could also show a lack of confidence in the small business environment in the wake of the recession, Babson professor Donna Kelley told CNBC. The Small Business Optimism Index, a metric from the National Federation of Independent Business, has remained below its 42-year average since the recession. More/Video |

Posted: 21 Jul 2016 11:00 AM PDT On Monday, Thomas Barrack, a globe-trotting billionaire real-estate investor in Los Angeles who describes Trump as a "close friend," published a 12-page treatise on the economy. As Bloomberg reports, it doesn't mention Trump, but it's a kind of defense of Trump's critique of international trade. The paper is in no way an official statement from the Trump campaign; it reflects only Barrack's personal views. But Trump, a real-estate developer and reality-TV star with no experience in public service, relies on friends and family for advice more than many politicians do. Barrack is scheduled to speak at the Republican convention in Cleveland this week where Trump will be officially named the party's nominee. He contends the Western economic institutions -- the system of free trade agreements, the central banks -- were once effective but are now antiquated, contributing to growing inequality and resentment. He faults the U.S. for negotiating trade agreements like the Trans-Pacific Partnership to further national-security objectives while, in his estimation, ignoring the economic impact of lost jobs at home. He calls for the North American Free Trade Agreement to be renegotiated in unspecified ways. He says the current round of unconventional monetary policy is doing more harm than good, and that the U.S. government's debt is unsustainable. "Opaque global monetary policies combined with unfocused, poorly negotiated international trade agreements are undermining the entire project of globalization as proponents of these policies face a growing backlash among voters," he writes. Citizens everywhere are unhappy with their governments and angry with their leaders. They are no longer interested in a political rhetoric that they do not understand and that has no value in their lives. Monetary policy, trade policy technological disruption and the array of issues that make up globalization are simply a parade of unintelligible horribles to the average working class citizen. More |

Parents won’t sue Disney over son’s death by gator Posted: 21 Jul 2016 10:30 AM PDT ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The parents of a toddler killed by an alligator at Walt Disney World said Wednesday that they don't plan to sue the Florida theme park resort over the death. Matt and Melissa Graves of Omaha, Nebraska, said in a statement that they want to focus on their family's future health. A family spokeswoman, Sara Brady, said she couldn't say whether a financial settlement had been reached with Disney World. "The family is really focused on just moving forward and healing," Brady said. In their statement, the parents described themselves as "broken" by the death of their 2-year-old son, Lane. "We will forever struggle to comprehend why this happened to our sweet baby, Lane," they said. "As each day passes, the pain gets worse, but we truly appreciate the outpouring of sympathy and warm sentiments we have received from around the world." More |
Clinton Nightmare: Republican Platform Reinstates Glass-Steagall Posted: 21 Jul 2016 10:00 AM PDT Donald Trump is using his Art of the Deal to attack Hillary Clinton's Wall Street fundraising spigot by promising to reinstate the Depression-era Glass-Steagall Act that her husband, President Bill Clinton, repealed in the waning days of his Administration. The demand to repeal Glass-Steagall is also a page taken from Hillary's primary opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and offers an opportunity to hit her from the left as well as the right. According to a report by The Hill, Donald Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort toldreporters in Cleveland on the first day of the Republican National Convention that the GOP Platform would include language calling for "a reintroduction of Glass-Steagall, which created barriers between what big banks can do." Clinton Foundation Ignores Best Practices Of Nonprofits Posted: 21 Jul 2016 09:53 AM PDT Clinton Foundation officials have ignored virtually all of the "best practices" urged by good governance organizations for public charities, according to an investigation by The Daily Caller News Foundation. Most glaringly, for example, the foundation's insular board of directors is unusually small, ranging from only two to no more than five members, all of whom are among President Bill and Hillary Clinton's closest and richest friends. The "good governance" movement in the nonprofit field has been gathering strength for two decades, but it clearly has yet to reach the Clinton Foundation. Most foundation boards have on average 15 members, according to a 2015 survey by Boardsource, a national organization working to strengthen nonprofit board leadership. More |

America Is Being Divided And Conquered Into Oblivion Posted: 21 Jul 2016 09:37 AM PDT Or take the right to vote. In principle, it is a great privilege. In practice, as recent history has repeatedly shown, the right to vote, by itself, is no guarantee of liberty. Therefore, if you wish to avoid dictatorship by referendum, break up modern society's merely functional collectives into self-governing, voluntarily co-operating groups, capable of functioning outside the bureaucratic systems of Big Business and Big Government. -Aldous Huxley, in Brave New World Revisited (1958) The single event that changed my life more than any other was TARP, aka the banker bailouts. The unfairness, extreme greed and selfishness with which the status quo bailed out financial criminals while leaving the public high and dry changed me forever. When it comes to shaping American history, it is equal in importance to the attacks of 9/11. As someone who grew up privileged, I never really questioned the criminality of the status quo system. Like so many others who are beneficiaries of the ways things are, there's no much incentive to look behind the curtain. Nevertheless, the banker bailouts shook me to my core and opened my mind in ways that no other event could. At the time, I was happily earning a very large income at a young age while doing absolutely nothing to benefit society. As such, I couldn't contemplate why government officials were putting so much money and energy into bailing out people like me, while ignoring everyone else. It felt irrational, unethical and dirty. I wrote about all this for over a year while still working in the financial sector, before concluding that it was time to part ways in early 2010. Even back then, I was incessantly warning that tremendous anger from the banker bailouts would ultimately bubble to the surface and create the sort of backdrop in which authoritarians, demagogues and fascists thrive. The following years have felt like a tremendous rollercoaster ride. My emotions have vacillated significantly from pessimism to optimism, and now reside in a bizarre state in which the two inhabit an uncomfortable coexistence. I've previously defined the monumental struggle of our time as: Liberty and Decentralization vs. Authoritarianism and Centralization. For example, I noted in the post, The Comcast/Time Warner Merger and the War Between Centralization and Decentralization: More |
17 arrested in flag-burning melee outside GOP convention Posted: 21 Jul 2016 09:30 AM PDT CLEVELAND (AP) — Police arrested 17 people Wednesday after a melee broke out during a flag-burning in the streets outside the Republican National Convention. It was the most turbulent protest since the four-day convention began on Monday. The chaos briefly prevented delegates and members of the media from getting into the Quicken Loans Arena for the evening's proceedings. Among those arrested was Gregory "Joey" Johnson, whose torching of the flag at a GOP convention three decades ago led to the landmark 1989 U.S. Supreme Court decision that said flag-burning is speech protected by the First Amendment. Two officers were assaulted and suffered minor injuries, police said. One officer was seen bleeding from an elbow. Two of those arrested were charged with felonious assault on a police officer, the rest with failure to disperse. More |
GOP Platform: It’s Time To Get Rid Of The EPA Posted: 21 Jul 2016 09:23 AM PDT The Republican Party's 2016 platform proposes getting rid of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a massive regulatory body and turning it into an "independent bipartisan commission." "We propose to shift responsibility for environmental regulation from the federal bureaucracy to the states and to transform the EPA into an independent bipartisan commission, similar to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, with structural safeguards against politicized science," reads the GOP platform. Pence: ‘The Highest Role I Will Ever Play is D-A-D' Posted: 21 Jul 2016 09:00 AM PDT (CNSNews.com) - Donald Trump formally introduced Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his vice presidential running mate at event in New York City last week. At the event, Pence said the "heroes of my youth were John F. Kennedy and the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.," described himself as "a Christian, a conservative and a Republican—in that order" and said "the highest role I will ever play is D-A-D." Here is an excerpt from Pence's speech: "And when I got this call last Wednesday, I could only think of that ancient question: Who am I, Oh Lord, and who is my family that you have brought us this far. So let me try to answer that question for a few minutes. Now people who know me well know that I am a pretty basic guy. I am a Christian, a conservative and a Republican—in that order. And while I'm currently—I currently have the privilege of serving the state that I love, I really am just a small town boy, grew up in southern Indiana, with a big family and a corn field in the backyard. Like Donald Trump my grandfather immigrated to this country. And in many ways I grew up with a front row seat to the American Dream. I watched my mom and dad build everything that matters—a family, a business and a good name.." More |
Police shoot autistic man's caretaker as he lies in street Posted: 21 Jul 2016 08:45 AM PDT WASHINGTON (AP) — A Florida police officer shot and wounded an autistic man's black caretaker, authorities said, in an incident purportedly captured on cellphone video that shows the caretaker lying down with his arms raised before being shot. North Miami Assistant Police Chief Neal Cuevas told The Miami Herald that officers responded to the scene Monday following reports of a man threatening to shoot himself. Officers arrived to find 47-year-old Charles Kinsey, a therapist who works with people with disabilities, according to WSVN-TV, trying to get his 27-year-old patient back to a facility from where he had wandered. Cuevas says police ordered Kinsey and the patient, who was sitting in the street playing with a toy truck, to lie on the ground. Kinsey lies down and puts his hands up while trying to get his patient to comply. An officer then fired three times, striking Kinsey in the leg, Cuevas said. No weapon was found. More |

The regulations were proposed to stop Suboxone, an addictive drug sold in thin strips that are easily concealed inside envelopes, from flooding into Maryland's prisons. Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Secretary Stephen Moyer announced that a focus group would determine the best options for eliminating contraband. "The group will also research the most effective procedures to ensure the safety of our staff and those in our custody," the department said in a statement. More |
Rudy Giuliani SLAMS BlackLivesMatter With Some Much Needed COMMON SENSE! Posted: 21 Jul 2016 08:15 AM PDT It sounds so basic, and so easy… but the likes of BLM and their supporters just don't get it. That's the problem with 'stupid' it really blinds you to common sense. Still, let's hope what Giuliani says here….goes VIRAL! In many states and on a federal level, it is considered a "hate crime" to kill a man because he's a homosexual. It's a "hate crime" to kill based on racial motivations. Yet, for some reason, it's only been recently that legislators began thinking about prosecuting hate crimes against police officers. Now, several states are advancing legislation to protect our men and women in blue and one of these is Texas – a state where doing the deed can get you a needle in your arm in relatively short order. Clarence Thomas: Standing Up For What’s Right Posted: 21 Jul 2016 08:00 AM PDT "It's not my Constitution to play around with." I've read many quotations from Clarence Thomas over the years, especially now, as he marks 25 years as an associate justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. But this particular one, drawn from something he said to The Wall Street Journal a few years ago, really struck home with me. It cuts to the heart of why he's been such an outstanding member of the high court during the last quarter century. Simply put, he gets it. Unlike other justices, past and present, with a lamentable skill for discovering all kinds of unexpected "rights" and hidden meanings in our nation's charter, Justice Thomas does something quite radical: he sticks to the actual text. "I don't feel I have any particular right to put my gloss on your Constitution," he said. "My job is simply to interpret it." I like that -- "your Constitution." As in "We the People." Justice Thomas recognizes that it's the document by which the governed -- you and me -- define exactly what the government can and can't do. Very few people know the "American Dream" quite as well as Justice Thomas. That a man could rise from such humble beginnings in Pin Point, Ga., to sit on the bench of the most powerful court in the world is a true testament to his will, his intelligence, his drive and his perseverance. It's also a stirring commentary on the greatness of our nation. In no other country could Clarence Thomas come from where he did, and end up where he is. His is a uniquely American story of triumph in every sense. More here |

This Is What Happens When Sharpton, Holder Get Served Race War Lawsuit Posted: 21 Jul 2016 07:15 AM PDT Black Lives Matter advocates have been served with a lawsuit accusing them of inciting a race war, but two high profile members tried to avoid becoming part of the action. Civil rights activist Al Sharpton and former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder tried to thwart service for the complaint that accuses them of using anti-police rhetoric to incite violence as justification for ill treatment of blacks by law enforcement. At the same time, BLM founder and co-defendant DeRay McKesson seemed to wear the lawsuit as a badge of honor, posing for a photograph with his process server as he was served at his Baltimore home. Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan received his document through a third party at his Michigan home and President Obama was served through the mail, which is standard protocol, documents show. Fox Sex Scandal: Coulter SLAMS Megyn Kelly Posted: 21 Jul 2016 07:15 AM PDT Two crazy items today from Mediaite. First, it appears that Fox star Megyn Kelly claimed that she was subject to repeated incidences of harassment: Mediaite founder and legal analyst Dan Abrams says Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly is alleging "multiple incidents" of sexual harassment by the network's embattled CEO Roger Ailes. In an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Wednesday, Abrams cites an unnamed source for the latest bombshell in the unfolding story involving the vaunted Fox News honcho, who is now reportedly in talks to leave the network. "The source tells me that multiple Fox News talent — women both current and/or former — have come forward to allege possible harassment by Roger Ailes and that's why it's moving so quickly, because it's so clear to the owners know that something needs to be done," Abrams says, adding Kelly herself has alleged "multiple incidents of harassment." In response, frequent Fox commentator Ann Coulter, who took Carlson's side, is bashing Kelly. Via Mediaite: Coulter spoke to The Huffington Post saying the Kelly report means Ailes is "definitely out." She remarked, "I noticed the people who've been saying 'he never sexually harassed me' also, by the way, work for Fox News, which was such a weird coincidence." Lots of women currently employed at Fox News have spoken out to defend Ailes. Coulter had this response to the report about what Kelly said: "I guess she waited for him to be out before she spoke up," Coulter said, adding that it was "very brave of Megyn to wait until the last moment." This story is getting more and more interesting every day. Source: AAN |

Lawsuit Filed Against N.C. County for Failing to Maintain Voter Rolls Posted: 21 Jul 2016 07:00 AM PDT A legal watchdog group has filed a federal lawsuit against a county in North Carolina, claiming that it has more registered voters than living citizens. The Public Interest Legal Foundation, an Indiana-based legal group that specializes in civil litigation, filed the complaint Tuesday in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. The group filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Voter Integrity Project of North Carolina, an election integrity watchdog group, against the Wake County Board of Elections for its failure to maintain the county's voter rolls. Wake County, which encompasses Raleigh, North Carolina, boasts a population of just over 1 million people, making it the most populous county in the state. The groups stated that publicly available data from the U.S. Census Bureau and data from the federal Election Assistance Commission show that the county's voter rolls are larger than the number of citizens living in the county. The voter integrity group sent statutory notice letters to the county on June 3, warning they were in potential violation of federal voter registration laws and asking to review election records. They did not receive a response from the county, prompting the lawsuit. "Defendant has violated and continue[s] to violate Section 8 by failing to conduct reasonable voter list maintenance for elections for federal office and by failing to produce records and data related to those efforts, as required by Section 8," the lawsuit states. "Plaintiff seeks injunctive relief commanding Defendant to permit inspections of election records. "Plaintiff also seeks a declaratory judgment and injunctive relief requiring Defendant to conduct and execute reasonable voter list maintenance programs in compliance with federal law to ensure that only eligible voters are registered to vote in Wake County." Cotton: Obama Lied to Nation About Details of Secret Iran Nuke Deal Posted: 21 Jul 2016 06:53 AM PDT A leading member of the Senate committees on intelligence and armed services told the Washington Free Beacon on Monday that the Obama administration lied to Congress and the American people about the parameters of last summer's nuclear agreement with Iran. Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.), responding to questions from the Free Beacon, said he was "truly shocked" by breaking reports earlier this afternoon showing that the Obama administration struck a secret side deal with Iran that would lift key nuclear restrictions on the country in less than a decade, placing it within six months of a functional nuclear weapon. The report was touted by deal critics as a smoking gun proving that the Obama administration misled the public about the deal's contents in order to stymie opponents. The deal was touted as keeping Iran from a bomb for 15 years, but the new disclosures reveal that Iran could be six months away from a bomb within a decade of the deal. Multiple congressional inquiries seeking documents and information about the administration's secret diplomacy with Iran have been rebuffed in recent months. More here |
Wright State Pulls Out of Hosting First Presidential Debate Posted: 21 Jul 2016 06:45 AM PDT Wright State University has announced it will not host the first presidential debate in September due to concerns about security and costs, according to Cleveland.com. Wright State president David Hopkins said the decision broke his heart but that the school was not able to raise enough money to hold the event or sufficiently address security concerns. "I can't assure the safety of our students and the community," Wright State president David Hopkins told the Dayton Daily News. "I wanted it so much for our students," Hopkins said. "I hate this decision. It hurts my heart." According to the newspaper, the university needed to raise $8 million for the event, but had only raised about $3.5 million so far. The report said $500,000 had already been spent renovating the debate venue, the Nutter Center. Hopkins hopes to recover some of the $2 million advance the school paid to host the debate. Wright State Board of Trustees chair Michael Bridges called pulling out of the debate "the responsible thing to do" in a statement released by the university. "While the community has been overwhelmingly supportive of Wright State hosting the debate, the safety and security of the campus and community is of paramount importance," he said. More |

Ted Cruz, who failed to win the Republican nomination to Donald Trump, shocked the GOP convention Wednesday night by conspicuously refusing to endorse him in his bid against Hillary Clinton for the presidency in November. The speech was vintage Cruz in many ways – hearkening America back to freedom and the rule of law. But as the speech came to crescendo, the crowd in Cleveland began to realize he would not be endorsing Trump. Instead of saying "vote for Trump," Cruz called on Republicans to "vote your conscience." Declassified Docs Show That Obama Admin Created ISIS In 2012 To Use As A 'Tool' Posted: 21 Jul 2016 06:23 AM PDT Thanks in part to the declassification of Defense Intelligence documents, connecting those missing dots seems to have finally reveled what most Middle East observers have suspected all along, that the rise of the terrorist group ISIS and the likelihood of establishing a terror state (a caliphate), had been predicated by both the CIA and DIA, as far back as 2012. And purposely created by the Obama Administration in part to isolate the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad. The documents also predicted that the support given by the West, Turkey and the Persian Gulf Arab states to the Takfiri militants would eventually lead to the establishment of a Salafist Principality in Eastern Syria. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey publicly reached out to Jones late on Monday evening after she complained about "abuse" on the platform. Milo was suspended despite the fact that he sent no abusive tweets to the actress. Obama Admin Knew About Benghazi Before It Happened Posted: 21 Jul 2016 06:07 AM PDT (Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it obtained more than 100 pages of previously classified "Secret" documents from the Department of Defense (DOD)and the Department of State revealing that DOD almost immediately reported that the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi was committed by the al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood-linked "Brigades of the Captive Omar Abdul Rahman" (BCOAR), and had been planned at least 10 days in advance. Rahman is known as the Blind Sheikh, and is serving life in prison for his involvement in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and other terrorist acts. The new documents also provide the first official confirmation that shows the U.S. government was aware of arms shipments from Benghazi to Syria. The documents also include an August 2012 analysis warning of the rise of ISIS and the predicted failure of the Obama policy of regime change in Syria. The documents were released in response to a court order in accordance with a May 15, 2014, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against both the DOD and State Department seeking communications between the two agencies and congressional leaders "on matters related to the activities of any agency or department of the U.S. government at the Special Mission Compound and/or classified annex in Benghazi." Spelling and punctuation is duplicated in this release without corrections. A Defense Department document from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), dated September 12, 2012, the day after the Benghazi attack, details that the attack on the compound had been carefully planned by the BOCAR terrorist group "to kill as many Americans as possible." The document was sent to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, then-Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Obama White House National Security Council. The heavily redacted Defense Department "information report" says that the attack on the Benghazi facility "was planned and executed by The Brigades of the Captive Omar Abdul Rahman (BCOAR)." The group subscribes to "AQ ideologies:" More |
Hillary Clinton Admits That Email Scandal Has Hurt Her Posted: 21 Jul 2016 06:00 AM PDT Hillary Clinton acknowledged that she was wrong to use a private email system that was not approved by the State Department but only because of "what it has generated" in terms of her declining trustworthiness ratings. Yes, I'm sure it didn't help," Clinton told Rose, admitting for the first time that the email scandal has hurt her politically. "It was wrong because look at what it has generated," she added. Clinton clearly faces a trust deficit because of her email practices and the perception that she has lied to cover them up, most polls show. More |

HBO Confirms Shortened, Delayed Seventh Season Of Game Of Thrones Posted: 21 Jul 2016 05:53 AM PDT The producers of HBO's Game of Thrones had recently commented that the remaining two seasons would likely have fewer episodes than previous years. They had also let slip the bad news that the next season would not be starting in the spring as it usually has — but when would it start? Now HBO has confirmed both rumors and provided a smidge more information. The network announced this morning that GoT's seventh season will be limited to seven episodes. That's down from 10 episodes each for the previous six seasons. The show's producers had said before the beginning of the sixth season that telling the remainder of the epic story would require around 15 more episodes, and the question was whether to go with one long season or two shorter seasons. Additionally, the later start to the new season is due in part to the need to film more wintry scenes with actual snow. More |

SAB Miller is currently a 58% owner of MillerCoors, which handles the Miller brands stateside. In Nov. 2015 — in anticipation of regulatory scrutiny — the company reached an agreement with partner Molson Coors (owner of the remaining 42% of MillerCoors) to sell its ownership stake for $12 billion. SABMiller must also divest itself of the worldwide rights to Miller Beer brands, meaning SABMiller will no longer sell any Miller products once the merger is complete. For its part, AB InBev must stop its questionable practice of providing anticompetitive incentives — like covering marketing costs for distributors who kept a strict limit on non-AB InBev products.
