RNC Security in Cleveland is Finally Taken Seriously after Dallas Massacre

The police massacre in Dallas has forced the Cleveland Police Department to finally respond to the threat posed by increasingly violent left wing protests around the country ahead of the Republican National Convention.

Cleveland Police Chief Ed Tomba reportedly told Reuters that law enforcement would make changes to the security plan for the RNC . Tomba also emailed other law enforcement agencies to "reassure" them that officers would be safe.

"We have got to make some changes without a doubt," Chief Tomba reportedly told Reuters over the phone. "I wrote an email reassuring them [other agencies providing officers for the convention] we are prepared and let them know we cannot pull the plan off without them."

German Intel Says Iran Attempting to Obtain Illegal Nuclear Material

German intelligence officials declared in a new document that Iran has deployed a "clandestine" effort to obtain illegal nuclear technology and equipment from German companies after signing the Iran nuclear deal.

Germany's domestic intelligence agency, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, charged in its annual report released last week that Iran defied the nuclear pact it struck with the United States and five other world powers last summer by continuing to build up its missile stockpile and acquire nuclear-related material.

The 317-page report said Iran in 2015 was attempting to acquire the illicit weapons technology at "a quantitatively high level," even by international standards.

"It is safe to expect that Iran will continue its intensive procurement activities in Germany using clandestine methods to achieve its objectives," the document said.

DSP State Police Investigates Fatal Fall From Helicopter

Georgetown- The preliminary investigation has determined at approximately 6:45 p.m. this evening, Monday July 11, 2016, the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit was conducting a routine training exercise with the Delaware Air Rescue Team (DART) which is comprised of volunteer firefighters throughout the state and troopers assigned to the Aviation Unit. This incident occurred at the Delaware Coastal Airport located at 21553 Rudder Lane, Georgetown.

During the training exercise a pilot and trooper medic were on board along with the two volunteer fire fighters. As one of the fire fighters stepped out onto the skid of the helicopter he fell from an undetermined height onto a grassy area below the aircraft. At that point the helicopter landed and the trooper medic and volunteer fire fighter on board as well as nearby volunteer fire fighters rushed over to the fallen victim and immediately rendered medical assistance.

Sussex County Paramedics and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the 46 year old male from Lewes to Beebe Healthcare where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is in the early stages and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be the lead investigative agency with the assistance of the Delaware State Police. At this point the name of the fire fighter will be withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Paramedic Makes Gut Wrenching Post in Wake of Dallas Attack

In the wake of the ambush attack that left five Dallas police officers dead and seven more wounded, an anonymous paramedic posted a picture of a bloody ambulance along with a message about his job and the state of our country that has gone viral.

Showing the floor of an ambulance, Lost Scotsman, an EMT, posted this to Imgur under the title "This is hard":

I've been contemplating for a couple of days about making a post to inform people of EMS and what we really do. But I cant. After these events the passed few days I've been unable to bring myself to make it. The reason is, I've seen people so up in arms about the very unfortunate deaths that have happened here over the last 3 or 4 days. And I get it, more than you could possibly know. And it hurts so much to see people willing to divide themselves over what has been going on. It makes my heart heavy. It stuns me that its so easy for humans to be so willing to say someone deserves death.

Firefighter Dies After Falling Out of Helicopter During Training Exercise in Delaware

A firefighter died from his injuries after he fell during a training exercise in Delaware.

The unidentified member of the Lewes Fire Department was inside a helicopter during a training drill with Delaware State Police above Nanticoke Avenue in Millsboro, Delaware Monday when he somehow fell out of the helicopter. The firefighter was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Officials continue to investigate the incident. The Lewes Fire Department also released a statement on the firefighter's death on Facebook.

"It is with deep, deep regret that the Officers and Members of the Lewes Fire Department announce the passing of one of our own earlier today," a spokesperson wrote. "Further details on remembrance services are to follow."

Churches Fight Back Against Iowa Bid to Silence Biblical Views

Two churches are fighting back against the Iowa Civil Rights Commission after the agency issued an interpretation of state law that could bar churches from expressing biblical views on sexuality and gender identity — even from the Sunday pulpit.

Fort Des Moines Church of Christ filed a federal lawsuit against the commission on Monday, arguing that the agency's interpretation of the Iowa Civil Rights Act violates the First Amendment.

Christiana Holcomb, legal counsel for the Alliance Defending Freedom, which represents the church, said it is difficult to "imagine a more obvious unconstitutional invasion of the state into the internal affairs of the church" than what the Civil Rights Commission is proposing.

"Churches should be free to teach their religious beliefs and operate their houses of worship according to their faith without being threatened by the government," Ms. Holcomb said in a statement. "That is a foundational First Amendment principle."

The lawsuit came in response to an explanatory brochure titled "Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity — A Public Accommodations Provider's Guide to Iowa Law," released by the Civil Rights Commission. It says churches are public accommodations and therefore generally subject to the Iowa Civil Rights Act.

Led Zeppelin's lawyer on Thursday said the British rock band's publisher should be awarded more than a half-million dollars in attorneys' fees after its legal counsel successfully fended off copyright infringement claims last month in Los Angeles federal court.

Two weeks after prevailing over plagiarism charges concerning Led Zeppelin's 1971 classic rock anthem "Stairway to Heaven," attorney Peter Anderson asked for $613,471 in his latest court filing from the legal team that failed to convince a jury that the tune's iconic acoustic guitar introduction was stolen from another band.

Combined with other compensation sought for items including witness fees and trial transcripts, Led Zeppelin's publisher, Warner/Chappell stands to receive as much at $800,000 if their request is approved, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

A six-day trial in U.S. District Court concluded June 24 with a federal jury ruling in favor of Led Zeppelin in the face of decades-old accusations surrounding the tune's origin.

UPDATE:
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police are investigating after five people were shot during a candlelight vigil Monday.

Four women and one man were shot at North and Fulton.

Police say they found two adult women on the scene. The other three victims were found at area hospitals.

Paul Ryan Plummets to 43 Percent in New Primary Poll

JANESVILLE, WI – A poll of likely Republican voters shows House Speaker Paul Ryan well below 50 percent in his race to maintain his seat in Wisconsin's first Congressional district.
The poll was conducted by P.M.I., with 424 respondents randomly called from a file of 11,000 likely GOP primary voters. It shows that with one month remaining before Wisconsin's August 9th vote, Ryan is polling at 43 percent.

Ryan's challenger, Wisconsin businessman Paul Nehlen, is polling at 32 percent.

The Nehlen campaign notes that Ryan's 43 percent "represents a drop of more than 30 points since the Nehlen campaign began polling likely Republican primary voters earlier in the year."

"This poll shows voters are considering their options and choosing to opt out of Paul Ryan's job-killing policies," Nehlen said.

The new poll could be viewed as a warning sign to Ryan, as Wisconsin voters may be growing increasingly frustrated with the key elements of Ryan's longstanding policy agenda.

California Woman Receives Three Speeding Tickets Within an Hour

A California woman was arrested last weekend after getting three speeding tickets within an hour while driving in Pulaski County, Virginia, KCAL-TV reported.

According to police, Kai Kitchen of Los Angeles was taken into custody last Sunday where officers issued an arrest warrant for misdemeanor reckless driving.

Police say Trooper N.S. Rife first spotted Kitchen traveling 93 mph — 23 mph above the speed limit — at around 7 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 81. She received a citation for reckless driving and was released.

But about 40 minutes later, she was cited again, also by Rife, for reckless driving. This time, police say she was going 97 mph.

Then, at 8 a.m., Trooper M.R. Overholt pulled Kitchen over on I-81 for going 94 mph. This time, she was arrested.

According to KCAL, some of Kitchen's supporters have claimed that she was only pulled over that many times because she is African-American. Her lawyer says that's nonsense.

It seems most of the media and even law enforcement are targeting the hearts of our community over the animal abuse and the possibility the Murphy's could see a maximum of almost 20 years in jail for that animal neglect.

However, the Murphy's never kept records of sales and never reported the sale of each animal, (starting at $350.00 and up) as income to the IRS.

Believe it or not, they could probably see more time for tax evasion then animal abuse/neglect. Time will tell. OK MSM, now you can target this angle instead.

Here he tells the real story of his departure from his post and why America is not getting any closer to winning the war on terror:

"Two years ago, I was called into a meeting with the undersecretary of defense for intelligence and the director of national intelligence, and after some "niceties," I was told by the USDI that I was being let go from DIA. It was definitely an uncomfortable moment (I suspect more for them than me).

"I asked the DNI (Gen. James Clapper) if my leadership of the agency was in question and he said it was not; had it been, he said, they would have relieved me on the spot.

"I knew then it had more to do with the stand I took on radical Islamism and the expansion of al Qaeda and its associated movements. I felt the intel system was way too politicized, especially in the Defense Department. After being fired, I left the meeting thinking, "Here we are in the middle of a war, I had a significant amount of combat experience (nearly five years) against this determined enemy on the battlefield and served at senior levels, and here it was, the bureaucracy was letting me go." Amazing.

"At the time, I was working very hard to change the culture of DIA from one overly focused on Washington, DC, to a culture that focused on our forward-based war fighters and commanders. It was not an easy shift, but it was necessary and exactly the reason I was put into the job in the first place.

"In the end, I was pissed but knew that I had maintained my integrity and was determined in the few months I had left to continue the changes I was instituting and to keep beating the drum about the vicious enemy we were facing (still are).. "

White House Petition To Recognize BLM As Terrorist Org. Gains 100,000 Signatures

A White House petition to formally recognize the Black Lives Matter movement as a terrorist organization garnered it's one-hundred-thousandth signature Monday afternoon, the minimum-threshold for earning a response from the administration.

The petition had been created on Wednesday, July 6, but had only gathered 12,000 signatures in its first two days online.

"Terrorism is defined as the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of political aims," writes the petitions author. "This definition is the same definition used to declare ISIS and other groups, as terrorist organizations."

Police body cameras in Delaware: Seeing is believing?

SMYRNA — For about 4½ months Delaware State Police have evaluated the merits of trooper-worn body cameras with an eye on permanent implementation.

The pilot program involves 25 trained troopers testing the capacity to record their actions with a self-activated device.

A check with the Smyrna Police Department would elicit rave reviews.

The municipal law enforcement agency in northernmost Kent County currently has approximately 17 cameras on the streets each day, with every patrol officer equipped with a device.

"The cameras have proved useful in countless situations from the most mundane to the most serious," said spokesman Cpl. Brian Donner.

While the cameras are seen as significant additions to a crime fighter's set of tools, "it hasn't affected day-to-day police work whatsoever in the sense of how we operate," Cpl. Donner said.

Putting real heart into robotics, Harvard University researchers said Thursday that they have created an artificial stingray powered and guided by genetically engineered heart cells from rats.

The quest to make machines that harness living tissue is quickening world-wide, experts said. At a dozen or more laboratories in the U.S. and Europe, bioengineers are experimenting with devices that use live cells to overcome the shortcomings of conventional hardware, from designs for artificial arms with real muscles to remotely controlled motorized sperm.

In the latest advance, a team of 20 researchers led by bioengineer Kevin Kit Parker at Harvard's Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering demonstrated how to use the cardiac cells that power a beating heart to operate a flexible artificial organism.
Their experimental device, made public in Science on Thursday, is a soft, self-propelled swimmer that mimics the undulating motions of a stingray. By flapping its winglike elastic fins, it can steer itself through an obstacle course, guided through the twists and turns by following a blue light that selectively activates the muscle cells.

First and foremost I would like to say thank you for actually saying what's in your mind and not going with the majority and the spineless that are SUPPOSED to be leading Wicomico County and Salisbury. My question is and has been why has there not been any re-assessment of the Wicomico County Economic Development position. This has gotten swept under the table long enough and needs to be questioned even if it ruffles a few feathers.

I realize that Dave Ryan is a man of character and integrity, a very soft spoken man but I think the time has come to question exactly what is going on. The 150,000/year salary and the taxpayers of Wicomico County deserve more than what has transpired and the meek forecast.

Md. Company To Develop Early-Stage Zika Vaccine

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WJZ) — The Maryland-based drug developer Emergent BioSolutions has received a multi-million dollar contract to help with the Zika health crisis.

Emergent received a $22 million federal order to develop an early-stage Zika vaccine, which could be ready for trials by early next year.

"Glad the government can rely on us sufficiently to come to us a second and third time to help them with a health crisis," said Barbara Solow, Emergent BioSolutions.

The Gaithersburg-based company has been called on several times to help during a global virus outbreak, developing a number of vaccines — including anthrax and Ebola.

Two Houston Police Officers Kill Gunman Who Aimed At Cops While Obama Tries To Talk Down Social Divide

Among the numerous mostly peaceful protests across the country overnight, another deadly incident between a lone black gunman and police took place shortly after midnight on Saturday, one which will further raise tensions and likely lead to more deadly escalation of this week's events.

According to ACB13, two Houston officers shot and killed an armed man on the city's south side early this morning. Police says the officers involved were wearing body cameras and they each fired multiple shots.

2 bailiffs, shooter dead after shots fired at Michigan courthouse

Two court bailiffs and the shooter are reported dead after shots were fired at the Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan, according to local news outlets. A police officer was also shot in the left arm and finger.

There is heavy police presence at the courthouse, according to Berrien County police dispatch.

The courthouse has been evacuated, WSJM reported.

News Alert: DNC staffer fatally shot in D.C.

A Democratic National Committee staffer was fatally shot in Northwest Washington, D.C., over the weekend.

Seth Rich, 27, was the Democrats' director of voter expansion data. Early Sunday morning he was shot multiple times in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of the nation's capital. Police officers soon arrived upon the scene, but Rich died shortly after at a local hospital.

Never Trump's Latest Plot to Sabotage the Convention

Anti-Donald Trump delegates are looking into a rules change that would allow them to reject Trump's vice presidential nominee and present their own alternative, BuzzFeed News reports. Delegates plan to present the proposal to the Rules Committee next week. Delegates aren't bound to vote for the nominee's choice for vice president, but traditionally the running mate is automatically ratified by the convention.

A draft proposal obtained by BuzzFeed calls for several changes: that delegates to be able to cast votes on VP even if there is only one candidate; that the nominee's preference have "no bearing" on the VP candidate; that if a VP candidate doesn't get two-thirds support on the first ballot that the decision go to multiple votes; and that a majority of delegates from just three states must support a candidate to get him or her on the ballot.

Confirmed: Dallas Shooter Had Been A 'New Black Panther'

HOUSTON, Texas – Micah X. Johnson was a member of the Houston New Black Panther Party for a short period of time. He was reported to be a member for about six months a few years ago.

Quanell X told reporters at KPRC NBC2 in Houston that Johnson was a member of the Houston Chapter of the New Black Panther Party for a short time a few years ago. He said he parted ways with Johnson after about six months because Johnson would not follow the chain of command.

During negotiations with the Dallas Police Department Friday morning during the ambush shooting that left five officers dead and seven other people shot, Johnson said he was not part of any group. He stated he wanted to kill white people and white police officers.

Obama gestured wanly toward the need to respect the grand jury's decision and to protest peacefully. "We are a nation built on the rule of law. And so we need to accept that this decision was the grand jury's to make," he said. But his tone of voice and body language unmistakably conveyed his disagreement, if not disgust, with that decision. "There are Americans who are deeply disappointed, even angry. It's an understandable reaction," he said.

Understandable, so long as one ignores the evidence presented to the grand jury. The testimony of a half-dozen black observers at the scene had demolished the early incendiary reports that Wilson attacked Brown in cold blood and shot Brown in the back when his hands were up. Those early witnesses who had claimed gratuitous brutality on Wilson's part contradicted themselves and were, in turn, contradicted by the physical evidence and by other witnesses, who corroborated Wilson's testimony that Brown had attacked him and had tried to grab his gun. (Minutes before, the hefty Brown had thuggishly robbed a diminutive shopkeeper of a box of cigarillos. Wilson had received a report of that robbery and a description of Brown before stopping him.)

Protesters Try Blocking Baton Rouge Interstate, but Police Aren’t Having It

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Officers stared down hundreds of shouting protesters near a ramp onto Interstate 110 in Louisiana's capital Sunday night before another squad in riot gear arrived to make arrests.

Earlier Sunday, some 2,000 people rallied outside the Capitol building to protest police killings of black people, State Police Maj. Doug Cain said.

They didn't have any problems out there. They seemed to be very organized and peaceful," Cain said.

But as night began to fall, a few hundred people aimed for an on-ramp, trying a tactic protesters were using this weekend in multiple cities.

And after a lengthy standoff, more police in full riot gear moved in, pinning some of the protesters as others fled. Some 30 to 40 people were jailed for trying to block a highway, sheriff's spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said.

Like most federal employees in a high ranking position like his, Comey continues to look forward to decades of living at a standard of living far above what is experienced by ordinary people in the private sector.

To maintain this life of comfort, all he had to do was agree to look the other way as a powerful politician clearly — by Comey's own admission — broke federal law.

Naturally, this same treatment would never be afforded to an ordinary taxpayer, who would likely be looking at years in federal prison for offenses similar to that which Hillary Clinton has apparently committed. Moreover, Comey even went out of his way to do his best to ensure no federal prosecutor would proceed with charges when he claimed that "no reasonable prosecutor" would proceed with charges. It wasn't enough for Comey to simply not recommend charges. He had to pre-emptively condemn any prosecutor who might proceed with charges.

Some have claimed that Comey was forced to cave to Obama administration pressure in order to protect his family. Of course, Comey could have resigned his position rather than take a position he regarded as unethical. Then the task of clearing Clinton would have fallen to Comey's successor. There are precedents for this. When ordered by Nixon to fire the special prosecutor in the Watergate scandal, Attorney General Elliot Richardson resigned rather than do what the president mandated. Comey could have done the same, but then he would have had to give up some of his comforts and privileges. To find work, he might have had to move to an unexciting place like Indianapolis or Albuquerque.

There's a reason my husband is an officer and I am not. I'm a relatively good person, but he's better than me.

He became an officer for all the right reasons. He was that little boy who never knew his daddy. He watched his mother struggle to make ends meet. He easily could have chosen a path less honorable, but instead he chose to do something with the goal of making a difference.

You see, my husband took an oath to be committed to you and your safety, regardless of whether or not that takes him from me. I never took that oath, and I'm beginning to wonder if you're worth it. As I said, he's better than me.

He's better than me because he's never cared if you see him for his worth or not. He doesn't care if you have any respect for him or if you loathe him. He will still be there for you. He will help you. He will save you. He will stand in front of your bullet to save an innocent behind him. I don't think you're worth it, and I apologize for not being as good of a person to you as he is.

You see, I don't want to help you if you hate me.

Human rights activist Jessie Jackson has pointed the finger at US presidential hopeful Donald Trump and his followers for helping to creating a rising climate of fear in America which has contributed to the shocking deaths of five police officers in downtown Dallas.

Rev Jackson said there was an 'anti-black mood' in America which also saw discrimination against immigrants, Muslims and women.

Speaking in the aftermath of the coordinated attack on 11 police in Dallas, Rev Jackson called on President Barack Obama to hold a conference on violence and racial disparities.'

Rev Jackson considered what was causing the divisive mood in America.

Obama Pushes More Federal Oversight of Cops After Dallas Attack on Cops

President Barack Obama is harnessing the increasing attacks on police — and the periodic shootings of people by stressed cops — to push his agenda to federalize state and local police forces.

"I want to start moving on constructive actions that are actually going to make a difference," he said during his evening press conference in Poland when he was asked about the Dallas attack.

Those actions, he said, would be based on the recommendations of the panel that he picked after the 2014 street riots in Ferguson, Missouri. The panel offered "practical concrete solutions that can reduce — if not eliminate — the problems of racial bias," Obama said.

The dramatic shootings are an opportunity to push that agenda, Obama said. "If my voice has been true and positive, my hope would be that… [the panel] surfaces problems, it frames them, it allows us to wrestle with these issue and try to come up with practical solutions," he said.

Obama began touting the panel's recommendations in March 2015. The report, titled "President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing Report," was published in May 2015.

Guantanamo Bay: Detainee Transfer Announced

The Department of Defense announced today the transfer of Fayiz Ahmad Yahia Suleiman from the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay to the Government of Italy.

As directed by the president's Jan. 22, 2009, executive order, the interagency Guantanamo Review Task Force conducted a comprehensive review of this case. As a result of that review, which examined a number of factors, including security issues, Suleiman was unanimously approved for transfer by the six departments and agencies comprising the task force.

In accordance with statutory requirements, the secretary of defense informed Congress of the United States' intent to transfer this individual and of the secretary's determination that this transfer meets the statutory standard.

The United States is grateful to the Government of Italy for its humanitarian gesture and willingness to support ongoing U.S. efforts to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility. The United States coordinated with the Government of Italy to ensure this transfer took place consistent with appropriate security and humane treatment measures.

Today, 78 detainees remain at Guantanamo Bay.

Every unarmed person killed by police in Maryland in 2015 was Black. We are facing a human rights crisis in Maryland and across the country.

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) officials knew about environmental data manipulation for years before they stopped the manipulation or notified scientists who may have used phony information, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation has found.

A USGS analyst resigned while under investigation for data manipulation from 1996 to 2008, but another analyst continued that distortion until 2014. But agency officials learned data was manipulated as early as 2004 when scientists found "test results did not make sense" and "were not accurate," according to a Department of the Interior inspector general (IG) audit published 11 years later.

"Our office wasn't aware of the 2008 incident until we began work on our May 2015 evaluation report," IG spokeswoman Gillian Carroll told TheDCNF.

Yet USGS allowed the manipulation to continue until 2008, and the agency didn't post a notice until April 2010. An external audit USGS contracted in 2012 found 29 issues, but 11 remained uncorrected as of June 2014 – six years after the manipulation was caught, the IG reported.

FBI Director James B. Comey used the softest word in the dictionary to criticize Hillary Clinton for sending top secret, classified information through her unsecured home computer system.

Mr. Comey's report to the Justice Department said the FBI uncovered repeated cases where, as secretary of State,Mrs. Clinton sent messages on her email system in reckless disregard for the "top secret," "very sensitive," and "highly classified information" that could have, and may have, fully exposed America's highest national security secrets to our enemies.

So how does Mr. Comey describe Mrs. Clinton's irresponsible, grossly negligent, and, some might say, even criminal behavior?

Well, he says, as the guardian of our nation's most sensitive secrets, she was "careless," and even "extremely careless" in her mishandling of highly classified material.

Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines "careless" as "free from care," "untroubled," "indifferent," and, brace yourself, "unconcerned" and maybe even a bit "negligent."

Brutal GOP video outlines the FBI's takedown of Hillary Clinton's email excuses

FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday recommended that the Justice Department not bring charges against Hillary Clinton over her email practices as secretary of state. But Comey still gave Republicans plenty of ammunition to use against her.

The Republican National Committee released a new digital ad Wednesday seizing on some of that ammunition, contrasting Clinton's claims during a news conference last year with Comey's statement on Tuesday.

The video lists "five lies" Clinton told during a news conference on March 10, 2015. It noted that while Clinton said she did not send or receive classified information over her private email servers, Comey said the FBI had found 110 emails in 52 chains that were deemed classified at the time she sent or received them.

Killer Robot Used By Dallas Police Opens Ethical Debate

DALLAS (AP) — When Dallas police used a bomb-carrying robot to kill a sniper, they also kicked off an ethical debate about technology's use as a crime-fighting weapon.

In what appears to be an unprecedented tactic, police rigged a bomb-disposal robot to kill an armed suspect in the fatal shootings of five officers in Dallas. While there doesn't appear to be any hard data on the subject, security experts and law enforcement officials said they couldn't recall another time when U.S. police have deployed a robot with lethal intent.

The strategy opens a new chapter in the escalating use of remote and semi-autonomous devices to fight crime and protect lives. It also raises new questions over when it's appropriate to dispatch a robot to kill dangerous suspects instead of continuing to negotiate their surrender.

"If lethally equipped robots can be used in this situation, when else can they be used?" says Elizabeth Joh, a University of California at Davis law professor who has followed U.S. law enforcement's use of technology. "Extreme emergencies shouldn't define the scope of more ordinary situations where police may want to use robots that are capable of harm."

Attorney General to Black Lives Matters supporters after Dallas: 'Do not be discouraged'

WASHINGTON – Responding to the shooting deaths of five Dallas officers and the wounding of several others, Attorney General Loretta Lynch addressed the nation Friday and implored Americans, "Do not let this week precipitate a new normal in this country."

Lynch asked citizens to help each other and not to turn on each other.

However, at the same time, she offered encouragement to anti-police protesters, telling them, "Do not be discouraged by those who would use your lawful actions as a cover for their heinous violence."

The attorney general also reached out to law enforcement officers, telling them the Justice Department "will do all that we can to support you in the days ahead."

Sunday, on CBS' "Face the Nation," while commenting on the recent police shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota and a sniper targeting and killing five Dallas police officers, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) said African-Americans must, "teach your children to be respectful to the police, and you've got to teach your children that the real danger to them is not the police, the real danger to them, 99 out of 100 times, 9,900 out of 1,000 times are other black kids who are going to kill them."

JOHN DICKERSON: Welcome back to "Face the Nation" With us now is former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Mr. Mayor, I want to ask you about something former speaker Newt Gingrich said, which is that he said, white Americans can't understand the extra risk that comes with being black in America and that whites "instinctively underestimate the danger of the black experience." What do you think about that?

GIULIANI: I agree with that completely. I agree largely with the sentiments of Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD). The reality is, we have to look differently at race in America if we're going to change this. We've been looking at it the same way for 20 years and, here's where we are. And, we both have to try to understand each other. First, let me say, my deep sympathy for the people of Minnesota, the people of Louisiana, the people of Texas and of Dallas, and I'd like them all to remember that although these incidents happened in different ways, they all share it together as Americans. And we share this violence together as Americans. So, maybe whites have to look at it differently, and blacks have to look at it differently. Whites have to realize that African-American men have a fear — and boys, have a fear of being confronted by the police, because of some of these incidents. Some people may consider it rational. Some people may consider it irrational. But it's a reality. It exists. And there's a second reality in the black community. And the second reality in the black community is, there's too much violence in the black community. So, a black will die 1 percent, or less, at the hands of the police and 99 percent of the hands of a civilian, most often another black. So, if you want to protect black lives, then you've got to protect black lives, not just against police, which happens rarely, although with tremendous attention, and which happens every 14 hours in Chicago. Every 14 hours. And we never hear from Black Lives Matter.

Obama Tells Reporter Not To Ask About Clinton And FBI

President Obama cautioned a New York Times reporter not to "burn" the question he was allotted during a press conference in Warsaw on Saturday by asking about the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails.

Times reporter Mark Lander began his question by noting that Obama has previously declined to comment on the investigation. But since the FBI and Justice Department closed the case this week, Lander hoped Obama would be open to responding to the decision not to charge Clinton.

But Obama cut Lander off mid-question, telling the reporter that he would be "wasting" his chance to get a substantive response.

"I want you to make sure you're not wasting your question," Obama said.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Prominent Black Lives Matter activist DeRay Mckesson was released Sunday after a night in jail following his arrest in Baton Rouge while protesting the police killing of a black man.

McKesson, 31, had traveled to Louisiana from Baltimore, where he grew up and returned last year after the death of Freddie Gray, the black man whose broken neck inside a police van sparked riots and upheaval. He waged an unsuccessful campaign for mayor this spring.

He now works for the Baltimore public schools as interim chief of human capital, responsible for staffing and dealing with reform. Schools CEO Sonja Santelises told The Baltimore Sun (http://bsun.md/29wJNOR ) that his activism "is part of who he is, it's part of what drives him, and it's part of what drives him to move the work for kids."

Black Lives Matter Activist DeRay McKesson Arrested In Baton Rouge

For the third consecutive day, protests against police violence (and less so the deadly retaliation by Micah Johnson) continued on Saturday night across America and shut down key roadways and transportation arteries in a number of U.S. cities on Saturday, resulting in mass arrests. The protests stretched into early Sunday morning in Baton Rouge and St. Paul, where tensions are most raw after the deaths of Alton Sterling in the Louisiana city and of Philando Castile in a St. Paul suburb.

While thousands of mostly peaceful demonstrators flooded the streets of major U.S. cities again Saturday night, a protest in St. Paul took a particularly violent turn, with participants hurling Molotov cocktails, fireworks, rocks, glass bottles, concrete slabs, and bricks at riot gear-wearing police officers. Police said on Twitter that people on an overpass were "throwing objects at officers, dumping liquid on officers" and others were throwing rocks and rebar. Police were heard telling the crowd, "leave the interstate now or you'll be subject to a use of force" shortly after 10:30 p.m. Police blamed "aggressors" for throwing objects at officers, and said police were using "marking rounds." Five officers were injured, and two were taken to the hospital. All are expected to be okay.

Authorities used smoke bombs when 200 protesters refused to leave the roadway just after midnight. By 12:45 a.m. Sunday, police said they were clearing debris from the road in order to reopen the highway.

"When there's an evidentiary issue in court down the road, the difference will be merely that they're going to have to bring in experts to explain that technology and the use of that technology, not whether or not it's constitutional in that particular context," Gansler said.

An ethical debate on the use of technology by police kicked off after law enforcement in Dallas rigged a bomb-disposal robot to killed an armed suspect they believe killed five police officers in what appears to be the first time that police have deployed a robot with lethal intent. Black El Paso Police Chief: BLM Is A 'Radical Hate Group'

The chief of police in El Paso, Texas, labeled Black Lives Matter a "radical hate group" Friday night, blaming them for Thursday's shooting in Dallas and calling on policymakers to take a closer look at the movement.

Greg Allen was in attendance at a news conference Friday where various leaders in the El Paso area expressed solidarity with Dallas while also trying to appeal to those who feel marginalized by a recent spate of high-profile police shootings. Allen didn't deliver a statement at the conference, but hegave an interview to local press afterwards.

During the interview, Allen was asked to comment on an upcoming protest vigil El Paso's Black Lives Matter group is planning to hold Sunday night. He responded by denouncing the group in remarkably harsh terms.

Tyler Gebhard was killed Saturday in St. Louis after trying to break into a police officer's home.

Gebhard had argued with the cop about Black Lives Matter on Facebook. The unidentified cop and Gebhard knew each other through church.

Biden calls on Americans to unite

With the nation in turmoil over the ambush murders of police officers and police killings of minorities, Vice President Joseph R. Biden urged Americans Saturday to stand together.

"As Americans, we are wounded by all of these deaths," Mr. Biden said in the administration's weekly address. "While we're being tested, we can't be pulled apart. We are America, with bonds that hold us together."

The vice president said the shooting deaths of five Dallas police officers by a black Army reserve veteran Thursday night "touched the soul of the nation."

"Those killed and wounded were protecting the safety of those who were peacefully protesting against racial injustices in the criminal justice system," Mr. Biden said. "I believe the Dallas Police Department is one of the finest in the nation— and this incredibly diverse city can bridge any divide."

115 Shot This Week In Chicago As 'Gun-Free-Zone'-City Continues Death Spiral

The saga continues in Chicago as violence across the US ticks upward following the Dallas police attack.

Having 115 people shot last week is incredible in lieu of what we reported earlier this year when 120 people in Chicago inside a 10 day span:

"following the seven people shot to death and 30 more wounded during the latest weekend, the total number of shootings in the windy city has risen to 120 in just over a week into the new year, according to police."

As if that isn't enough, recall that May was the worst month since 1995 for Chicago in terms of homicides:

Sadly, the pace of the shootings did hold, and Memorial Day weekend saw 6 people killed and another 63 wounded in a weekend that topped off the deadliest May in Chicago in 21 years according to the Chicago Tribune. Tragically, the month's 66th and final homicide victim was just a 15 year old boy named Fabien Lavinder. The 66 homicides represented the worst May since 1995 when 75 people were killed.

Remember also that over 40 people were shot during Memorial Day weekend in Chicago also.

This whole mess will likely to get worse following the attacks that have taken place between blacks and police over the weekend. In Chicago, it's a pressure cooker that keeps building. Something is going to cause chaos to rupture and spill throughout the city in ways far worse what we've witnessed in 2016 if the country keeps speeding toward maximum emotional outrage. It is high likely that this kind of long-lasting, deeply rooted rage will not go away if guns are banned.
