Senators want defense secretary’s support in adding “Lost 74” sailors to Vietnam Memorial Posted: 18 Feb 2020 07:00 PM PST A group of senators asked the secretary of defense to meet with them as part of their bipartisan effort to add the names of the "Lost 74" sailors to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. The USS Frank E. Evans, a naval destroyer that had just completed a combat tour off Vietnam's coast and was scheduled to return, sank during a training exercise in June 1969. Seventy-four sailors drowned, and only one body was recovered. For decades, survivors and families have fought to add the names of the perished sailors to the iconic granite wall in Washington, D.C. But the Pentagon opposes the effort since the incident occurred over 100 miles outside the designated Vietnam War theater. But a dozen senators from both parties sent a letter to Defense Secretary Mark Esper on Friday asking to meet with him to end the Pentagon's resistance. More
Adult Film Shot Inside Public Library During Business Hours Provokes Outrage Posted: 18 Feb 2020 06:30 PM PST An adult film shot during business hours at a public library in Santa Monica, California, is provoking outrage among neighbors who say the content of the film is inappropriate for public display — especially in front of children. "God forbid, a child walked in the library and walked right in on the middle of it. That's my biggest concern," neighbor Janet McLaughlin told KCAL. "Children don't need to be exposed to this. If you want to do porn, stick to the hotels." The video is more than ten minutes long and was filmed on Santa Monica's city streets and the Santa Monica Public Library-Ocean Branch. He was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, police said. Source: Democrat Senator Held Secret Meeting In Munich With Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif Posted: 18 Feb 2020 03:30 PM PST Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut and other Democratic senators had a secret meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif during the Munich Security Conference last week, according to a source briefed by the French delegation to the conference. Murphy's office did not respond to repeated requests for comment by press time. Such a meeting would mean Murphy had done the type of secret coordination with foreign leaders to potentially undermine the U.S. government that he accused Trump officials of doing as they prepared for Trump's administration. In February 2017, Murphy demanded investigations of National Security Advisor Mike Flynn because he had a phone call with his counterpart-to-be in Russia. "Any effort to undermine our nation's foreign policy – even during a transition period – may be illegal and must be taken seriously," Murphy said in 2017 after anonymous leaks of Flynn's phone call with Russian ambassador Sergey Kisylak were published. He also strongly criticized the open letter some Republican senators sent Iranian leaders during the Obama administration's campaign for a nuclear agreement. More
BREAKING NEWS: Drag Queen Story Time At Pittsville Library Now Canceled, BUT THERE'S MORE! Posted: 18 Feb 2020 03:03 PM PST Thanks to so many negative calls and by unpopular demand the Pittsville Library, (ON SCHOOL PROPERTY) has been cancelled. HOWEVER, here's the kicker. The Downtown Salisbury Wicomico County Library Director is adamant about hosting a Drag Queen Story Telling during Salisbury Maryland Mayor Jake Day's Gay Pride Parade in June of 2020. Sources tell me she is aggressively freaking out about concerned people totally against such an event. If I were the County Executive I'd tell that Director to not only pound sand, I'd cut off ALL funding above and beyond what the state requires. Enough is enough of this crap and it needs to be stopped immediately. These are OUR tax dollars funding YOUR Library. Funny how Muir Boda is on the board at the Library and it closely tied with Jake Day. Sources are also telling me that some board members haven't even been made aware of this happening in June. On a final note, don't you people find it interesting how ALL of your local media aside from me refuse to expose ANY of this. The Pittsville event was REAL. You heard nothing from your local media and all of you know damn well they all follow Salisbury News like a hawk and have said NOTHING about it. In my opinion I know they called the Library Director about the Pittsville reading and either they didn't ask about the Salisbury event OR the Library Director never said anything about the Salisbury event. I have CONFIRMED both!

Two MS-13 Gang Members Get 27 Years in Prison for Maryland Murders Posted: 18 Feb 2020 02:30 PM PST A pair of Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members were each sentenced to 27 years in prison for their involvement in murders, attempted murder, assaults, and drug dealing in Maryland. MS-13 gang members Jose Garcia, 28-years-old, and Carlos Diaz, 29-years-old, were sentenced each to 27 years in federal prison and five years of supervised release for their involvement in a violent racketeering conspiracy that included murder, according to the Justice Department. Garcia and Diaz were each involved in a murder carried out by the MS-13 gang. In one case, Garcia admitted to attacking a victim with machetes and knives in March 2017 alongside other gang members after luring him into Wheaton Regional Park. The victim was beheaded, dismembered, his heart was ripped out of his body, and he was buried in a pre-dug grave. More
Posted: 18 Feb 2020 02:00 PM PST Unfortunately for the folks pushing Mike Bloomberg for president, Bloomberg has a lot of past and he hasn't been shy about saying and doing a lot of things that have been caught on video. The left likes to pretend that President Donald Trump is "authoritarian," when indeed he's the opposite. They really need to get a load of Bloomberg's videos. There are few people more elitist and condescending, and "my way or the highway" than him. Here's a video of Bloomberg making a shiva call to the Segal family when he was Mayor of New York City in 2011. According to Yeshiva World, he spoke about "some very interesting topics, such as overcrowding in emergency rooms, Obamacare, immigration, smoking, eating salt, NYC traffic." Just FYI, he said Obamacare would make things worse. More
Israel foils Hamas attempt to 'seduce' soldiers in hacking effort Posted: 18 Feb 2020 01:30 PM PST The Israeli Defense Forces said it had foiled a Hamas plot to hack soldiers using fake social media accounts. The IDF said over the weekend that the terrorist group made fake accounts appearing to belong to attractive young women in an attempt to install malware onto the phones of soldiers. The plot failed though, according to Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, who explained that while many phones were infected, the IDF caught wind of the plot early and was able to prevent the leak of sensitive data. Conricus said the hackers appeared on apps such as Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram and would pretend to be young women interested in having a conversation. They would attempt to downplay their poor knowledge of Hebrew by saying they were new to the country. More
FBI Used ‘Briefing’ with Trump, Flynn to Gather Evidence for Crossfire Hurricane Operation Posted: 18 Feb 2020 01:00 PM PST The FBI under James Comey underhandedly sent a senior member of the team investigating alleged collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign to conduct a standard official FBI security briefing for presidential campaigns with then-candidate Donald Trump and his then national security advisor, Michael T. Flynn. Unbeknownst to both Trump and Flynn, that FBI investigator memorialized that briefing, which included exchanges with Flynn and Trump, in an official document that was added to the Crossfire Hurricane case file probing the Trump campaign over unsubstantiated and ultimately discredited charges of Russian collusion. The FBI file documenting the August 2016 briefing describes two questions asked by candidate Trump as well as comments from Trump and Flynn and exchanges with the briefer from the FBI who was not identified to either Trump or Flynn during the briefing as working on the Crossfire Hurricane team probing Flynn and other members of the Trump campaign. James A. Baker, the former FBI general counsel, conceded that the briefer "was there on the off chance that somebody said something that might be useful." More
'A powerful tool': Devin Nunes says Trump 'has to tweet' after Barr complains Posted: 18 Feb 2020 12:30 PM PST California Rep. Devin Nunes defended President Trump's use of Twitter after Attorney General William Barr voiced his frustration with the commander in chief's commentary about the Justice Department. After a handful of leading Republicans voiced support for Barr in regards to his social media complaint, Nunes, the House Intelligence Committee ranking member, argued Trump should continue tweeting to speak directly to his supporters. "I think what the attorney general said was very clear, that the president should be careful making comments about criminal investigations," Nunes said Sunday on Fox News. More
Why Did the FBI Drop the McCabe Case? Posted: 18 Feb 2020 12:00 PM PST The Justice Department announced Friday that it was declining to prosecute former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe for lying to inspector general investigators over his unauthorized leak to the press regarding the FBI's Hillary Clinton email investigation back in 2016. In light of the DOJ's aggressive prosecution and subsequent conviction of both former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and former Trump campaign member George Papadopoulos for lying, the decision wafts the pungent odor of a politically based double standard. As National Review's Andrew McCarthy observes, "The FBI's former deputy director, though he undeniably misled investigators, remains a commentator at CNN. In the meantime, Papadopoulos is a felon convicted and briefly imprisoned for misleading investigators, while Flynn and Stone are awaiting sentencing on their false-statements charges. That covers both tiers of our justice system." So, why did the DOJ make this decision? Well, it appears to have boiled down to a question of winnability. As unsatisfying as that answer may be, the most unsatisfying answer of all may be that we may never fully know why. That said, there are some indications as to why the DOJ made this decision, and it wasn't necessarily because of some deep-state cover-up. More here

Reid claimed on the network Sunday that Trump has all the "markers" of autocracy and had caused a "normalization of violence." Tracey Winbush, the head of the Republican group, hit back at the host, saying Reid did not understand true leadership. "Everything that you said about the president's authoritarianism, the thing about autocracy, none of that means anything because you're not understanding leadership," she said, later adding, "Journalists don't want to cover the truth, they don't want to cover the facts. Eric Holder, other Dem AGs have history of meddling in politically sensitive cases Posted: 18 Feb 2020 10:00 AM PST Democrat attorneys general have a history of meddling in politically sensitive cases, the official record shows. Those include Justice Department interventions under Eric H. Holder Jr. in a voter intimidation case, Loretta Lynch in the Hillary Clinton email abuse scandal, and Janet Reno on possibly illegal campaign fundraising calls by President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore. Attorney General William P. Barr is under fire from Democrats for intervening in the sentencing of convicted perjurer Roger Stone, a longtime friend and former political adviser of President Trump. Mr. Barr told the D.C. U.S. attorney's office that its prosecutors' recommendations of seven to nine years in prison was too severe. He told ABC News that he thought he had an agreement for non-recommendation at sentencing by a U.S. District Court judge, an Obama appointee. More
'Black And Latino Males Don't Know How To Behave In The Workplace': Bloomberg Flashback Posted: 18 Feb 2020 09:45 AM PST Another Mike Bloomberg sound byte is coming back to haunt the Democratic presidential candidate after a 2011 clip from when he was mayor of New York City has resurfaced in which he said "enormous cohorts" of young black and Latino men "don't know how to behave in the workplace where they have to work collaboratively and collectively." Presciently, The Onion joked that Bloomberg was "tracking poorly among 18- to 25-year-old African Americans," and " hired thousands of canvassers Friday to stop black men on the street and force them to hear his campaign pitch." In parallel posts on Facebook and Twitter, Rev. Graham lamented efforts "by LGBTQ activists" to have his eight-city evangelistic tour across the UK cancelled. "Opposition to the Gospel shouldn't really surprise us. Jesus warned that it would come," Graham wrote. "As you may know, my eight-city evangelistic tour across the UK has been met with resistance by LGBTQ activists who inaccurately claim that I am homophobic, Islamophobic, and say that I speak hate." "Anyone who knows me or has heard me speak knows that this really isn't true — but, I DO preach the TRUTH of the Gospel. Christopher Sign talked about his book on the Clinton-Lynch meeting, called Secret on the Tarmac, during an appearance Monday on Fox News. The encounter on June 27, 2016, at the Phoenix's Sky Harbor Airport led to a firestorm of criticism as it took place during the FBI's investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of an unauthorized email server and the presidential election in which she was the Democratic candidate. Both Bill Clinton and Lynch claim the email investigation was not brought up during their chat, but Sign, who was a morning anchor at the Phoenix-area ABC15 when he first reported their encounter, said there's more to the story. From Oct. 1, 2018 and Sept. 30, 2019, Border Patrol agents working along the U.S.-Mexico border arrested 851,508 people who entered the country between ports of entry. In addition to the 473,682 people who arrived as part of a family, there were 76,000 unaccompanied children, according to previously released data. Border Patrol told the Washington Examiner its agents released more than 145,000 family members directly from its stations between March and September 2019, the months that had the highest levels of arrests. People who were released would have been allowed to go anywhere in the country, including those who were not seeking asylum. Customs and Border Protection, under which Border Patrol is housed, does not release data on the number of arrestees who go on to seek asylum, though Department of Homeland Security officials shared last year that it was a low percentage. Pompeo Warns of China’s Hidden Influence in America Posted: 18 Feb 2020 06:30 AM PST It sounds like an episode of "The Americans" or a best-selling Tom Clancy novel. But when Secretary of State Mike Pompeo looked into the faces of 40 governors and warned them that China had infiltrated their states, he wasn't kidding. They're hiding in the shadows of our schools, our lobbying meetings, even our business dinners. And no one, he said evenly, knows it's happening. "These aren't hypotheticals," Pompeo insisted. "We've allowed this to continue without a deep awareness from the American people." And what is "this," exactly? According to top State Department officials, we're talking about a massive network of Chinese communists fanned out across the country with one goal: penetrate U.S. security, education, and financial systems—then, create chaos. "It's happening in your state," Pompeo insisted, "with consequences for our foreign policy, for the citizens who reside in your states, and indeed for each of you … The Chinese government has been methodical in the way it's analyzed our system … It's assessed our vulnerabilities, and it's decided to exploit our freedoms to gain advantage over us at the federal level, the state level, and the local level." Tom Cotton: ‘Worse Than Chernobyl’ Posted: 18 Feb 2020 06:00 AM PST Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) told Fox News on Sunday that the China's communist government has repeatedly lied about the coronavirus, including the magnitude of the problem and where the virus originated. Cotton, who sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee and the Armed Services Committee, told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that "the situation is very grave, in part because, as you say, China was lying from the beginning, and they're still lying today, and also because there are so many unknowns about this virus, for example, how many people one person can infect once they have the virus, the extent to which it's contagious before one is symptomatic, or the mortality rate."
