Ed Klein: Hillary Clinton Uses 'People as Punching Bags'

In making Donald Trump's temperament the key issue in her presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton has conveniently forgotten Jesus's famous admonition: "He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone."

Hillary is in no position to cast stones.

I should know: I've been researching and writing about her for almost fifteen years, and in my new book, Guilty as Sin, I report that the smiley, stick-to-the-script Hillary people see in public is not the real Hillary Clinton at all.

Behind the scenes, she is often totally out of control—screaming and sometimes even physically attacking people, including her husband and campaign workers.

Hillary's combative behavior is nothing new; she's been that way all her life. For my 2005 book The Truth About Hillary, I interviewed Hillary's grammar school classmate, Jim Yrigoyen, who told me the story of being ordered by Hillary to guard a warren of baby rabbits, and not give any of them away to neighborhood boys. When he did, recalled Yrigoyen, "Hillary hauled off and punched me in the nose."

I guess Maryland Comptroller, Peter Franchot has really ruffled the feathers of the left-leaning editors of the Daily 'Waste of' Times. We hosted a CPA symposium at SU on Thursday and alerted the Daily Times – on at least 3 occasions to let them know that the guardian of our state finances would be in town presenting to the group of local CPA's. Even the government liaison at SU sent a press release, as well. The only local news outlets that took time to cover was WMDT and public radio.

A week prior, the Times reported a significant shortfall of income tax revenues from predicted and actual. That's newsworthy to ALL of us.

So, one would think that a one-on-one interview with Mr. Franchot would have been warranted. I guess not. Not even a response from the Times asking when and where. They obviously chose NOT to talk to him.

So, I got to thinking why?

Maybe – just maybe- his push to get schools started after labor day to help our business owners and workers in Ocean City really ruffled the liberal decision makers who disagreed with Governor Hogan's executive order to make the change in order to benefit our local and state economy. I guess it doesn't matter that over 70% of citizens agree with the decisions. Do the citizens think we live in a democracy? Come on, now. Seriously?! We really live in a world where the minority rules the majority, and they get the press to go along like puppets on a string. It makes me sick.

Sadly, I subscribe to the Times. One for the local sports, two for the obits, and three to light the wood in our fire pit. I don't even glance at the USA Today center section, since it so blatantly liberal leaning. They don't even try to hide their bias.

So, despite the weather – they were notified a week in advance- the Times decided that giving Mr. Franchot an interview was not worth their time. Just one more way the liberal press tries to influence our thinking by printing bias – or, in this case, by not printing it at all.

U.S. Supreme Court to hear unclaimed property suits from 2 dozen states

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear Pennsylvania Treasury's lawsuit seeking to recover more than $10 million in unclaimed property funds that were submitted to the state of Delaware over a 10-year period.

"I am pleased the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to consider our case. Under both state and federal law, the money in question legally belongs to Pennsylvania and should remain in Pennsylvania," said Pennsylvania Treasurer Timothy Reese. "We look forward to presenting our argument to the court."

The decision to hear the case is bad news for Delaware, which claims funds from companies incorporated in the state and has made aggressive moves over the years to claim the money and faces a structural budget gap. According to one report, the gap will worsen in coming years, minus spending cuts or tax and fee increases.

Obama administration may use obscure fund to pay billions to ACA insurers

The Obama administration is maneuvering to pay health insurers billions of dollars the government owes under the Affordable Care Act, through a move that could circumvent Congress and help shore up the president's signature legislative achievement before he leaves office.

Justice Department officials have privately told several health plans suing over the unpaid money that they are eager to negotiate a broad settlement, which could end up offering payments to about 175 health plans selling coverage on ACA marketplaces, according to insurance executives and lawyers familiar with the talks.

The payments most likely would draw from an obscure Treasury Department fund intended to cover federal legal claims, the executives and lawyers said. This approach would get around a recent congressional ban on the use of Health and Human Services money to pay the insurers.

Ocean City Council Seeking Public’s Help In Opposing Proposed Cell Towers

OCEAN CITY — Resort officials this week made it abundantly clear they are strongly against a proposal to install as many as 90 cell phone towers, some as tall as 38 feet, throughout Ocean City and are asking residents and visitors to join in the opposition.

Two weeks ago, through a seemingly innocuous legal advertisement, the private sector company Crown Castle announced a proposal to install as many as 90 distributed antenna systems, essentially cell phone towers, at locations throughout Ocean City, including many of the resort's residential neighborhoods. The towers would range from about 18 feet to as high as 38 feet and are needed to expand bandwidth and improve Internet accessibility in the densely populated resort.

Crown Castle approached resort officials in 2015 about installing the necessary technology to expand bandwidth and improve Internet accessibility, but that initial proposal called for installing the hardware on existing structures including light poles and other utility poles. The Mayor and Council had some concerns about even that concept, but when Crown Castle returned this spring with a vastly different proposal to install as many as 90 new towers throughout Ocean City, resort officials took exception to the plan.

NYTimes Declares Ohio No Longer 'Bellwether' as Trump Pulls Ahead

The New York Times, the so-called "paper of record," hasdeclared that the all-important swing state of Ohio is no longer an important battleground in the presidential election — now that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is winning it.

Trump pulled ahead of Clinton in the Buckeye State in the RealClearPolitics poll average on Sep. 13, and has never looked back. The latest average, as of Sep. 24 — prior to the first presidential debate on Sep. 26 — has Trump ahead of Clinton by 2%.

Earlier in September, the Times was declaring Ohio "an essential swing state," where Governor John Kasich threatened to destroy Trump's presidential hopes by withholding his endorsement and denying Trump his turnout operation. The Times added: "No candidate since 1960 has made it to the White House without winning Ohio. And while Mrs. Clinton could afford to lose there given her advantage in other battlegrounds like Virginia and Colorado, Ohio is a must-win for Mr. Trump."

This four-day automotive event continues to be one of the eastern region's largest fall car shows with more than 2,000 hot rods, street machines customs and more. Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

On Monday September 26th the PNC bank in Pocomoke Maryland was robbed and a chase ensued through Accomack Co. Virginia. Subsequently the suspects that allegedly robbed the bank fired upon the Accomack County Sheriff's Deputy that was attempting to apprehend them for the Maryland robbery.

The Pocomoke City Police and the Worcester County Bureau of investigation initiated an investigation.

Due to the multiple jurisdictions the suspects traveled through, the U.S. Marshals and Law Enforcement officers from Worcester County, Pocomoke City the Maryland State Police, Accomack, Norfolk, and Newport News came together to apprehend the suspects.

Multiple leads were developed and followed up on. Three men were Identified and arrested in Norfolk on October 3 with the assistance of Norfolk Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.

The Suspects are identified as:

• 28-year-old De'Andre Breshon Ayres has been charged with attempting to commit capital murder, shooting from a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting at an occupied vehicle
• 21-year-old Demetrius Perry has been charged with attempting to commit capital murder, shooting from a vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting at an occupied vehicle
• 23-year-old Lamond Perry has been charged with attempting to commit capital murder, shooting from a vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting at an occupied vehicle

All three suspects are were denied bond and are being held at the Accomack County Jail.

Maryland currently has warrants on file for the three suspects pertaining to the Robbery that occurred in Pocomoke City Maryland. The investigation is ongoing.

Drug crisis drives cut in Maryland prison terms

Over the years, repeat drug offenders in Maryland have been faced with the prospect of being convicted and sentenced to mandatory minimum sentences of 10, 25 and, in some cases, 40 years without parole.

But that will change next year with the elimination of such sentences in the state.

For the most part, mandatory sentences will no longer be available as leverage for prosecutors as of Oct. 1, 2017. They were eliminated as part of the Justice Reinvestment Act passed by the Maryland General Assembly earlier this year.

"The overarching goal of this legislation is to reduce prison populations by reducing recidivism through additional treatment and therapeutic programs for nonviolent offenders," said Del. Brett Wilson, R-Washington, who is also an assistant state's attorney. "It is intended to be a self-funding program, paid for by savings realized by the reduced populations."

Migrants Bringing Rare Diseases Strain German Medical System

Incoming migrants are bringing long-eradicated diseases to Germany and are putting the medical system under extreme stress.

As well as bringing a rising tide of crime and attitudes towards women that many consider incompatible with modern European values, the over one and a half million migrants who flowed into Germany last year have also brought unheard-of and rare strains of diseases to the continent. The new arrivals and their illnesses are putting pressure on the German health care system, reports Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

All migrants upon arrival in Germany are required to undergo medical screening. German doctors have been struggling with the high number of post-traumatic stress disorder cases amongst migrants, but are also finding it increasingly difficult to diagnose diseases that have been wiped out in Germany but are still prevalent in the Middle East and Africa.

Some Maryland health insurance rates going up, a few go down

The Maryland Insurance Administration has approved premium rates for 2017 small group and individual health insurance plans, and the good news is that rates for small group markets are only increasing by single digits — and some are going down.

The not-so-good news is that rates for individual plans are going up by 20 percent to 30 percent.

Maryland Insurance Commissioner Al Redmer said last week during an interview with Herald-Mail Media that the small-market rates are for employers with two to 50 employees, and affect about 4.1 percent of Marylanders. Rates in the small group market are going up by an average of 3.3 percent, with several United Healthcare plans actually going down.

A few carriers, such as CareFirst of Maryland and Evergreen Health Cooperative, were approved for rates higher than they requested. Redmer said that's because the state is required to approve rates based on several criteria:

Debate commission: There were 'issues' with Trump's microphone

The Commission on Presidential Debates confirmed Friday that there were "issues" with Republican nominee Donald Trump's microphone during the first debate.

"Regarding the first debate, there were issues regarding Donald Trump's audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall," the commission said in a terse statement. The exact nature of the problem was not described.

Trump complained about a defective microphone immediately after the debate.

"And they also had — gave me a defective mic," he said. "Did you notice that my mic was defective within the room?"

Three Food Lion stores in Delaware to begin transition to Weis

Three Cape Region Food Lion grocery stores are set to close Friday, Oct. 7, as the stores begin the transition into Weis Markets.

Signs have been posted on the doors of the stores in Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Long Neck, stating the stores will close at 11 p.m., Oct. 7, and will remain closed until Friday, Oct. 14, when they will reopen as Weis Markets. The Millville store is also being converted to a Weis, but the transition date could not be confirmed.

Food Lion stores were sold to the Pennsylvania-based grocer as the result of a merger between Delhaize Group, parent company of Food Lion, and Ahold, parent company of Giant. It was announced July 13 that the companies had reached agreements with buyers to sell 86 stores in the Mid-Atlantic where the companies both operate.

Fighting corruption: 80 indicted

TOWSON, MD — When Gov. Larry Hogan asked Stephen T. Moyer to head the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, one of his main concerns was fighting corruption in the department.

Today we've taken a big step toward that goal.

A federal grand jury today indicted 80 defendants – correctional officers, offenders, and outside players – for a racketeering conspiracy which involved smuggled contraband, paying and accepting bribes, and sometimes retaliating with violence against informants.

"I hired Secretary Stephen Moyer with the directive to aggressively root out corruption in our state correctional facilities, and that is exactly what he has done," Gov. Larry Hogan said in a statement.

Secretary Moyer and Public Safety staff initiated the investigation, asking the FBI and other law enforcement agencies to help. "It was extremely courageous of the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services to allow the access required to conduct this type of investigation," Special Agent in Charge Gordon B. Johnson of the FBI's Baltimore Division said in a statement.

"Public Service is a noble calling," Secretary Moyer said. "This is not for everyone. You need a burning desire in your heart and soul to do the greater good for others — citizens of this great state."

With support from the Governor's Office, the Department of Public Safety is working law enforcement on several initiatives aimed at rooting out corruption and making our facilities and our state safer:
  • Worked with Gov. Larry Hogan, who took the initiative to shut down the disgraced Baltimore City Jail;
  • Bolstered its Internal Investigative Division, assigning employees to work with the FBI, U.S. Attorney, Maryland Attorney General, and State's Attorneys;
  • Created new contraband interdiction teams to root out smuggling;
  • Increased corruption investigations of staff by nearly 40 percent;
  • Established an easy-to-use anonymous tip line for Public Safety employees;
  • Overhauled our Human Resources leadership, intensifying background checks and mandating polygraph tests for Correctional Officer applicants.

FBI Reveals Timeline In Arrest of ISIS Supporter Living in Md.

BALTIMORE (WJZ)– In the blizzard of chatter on social media, a 24-year-old Bangladeshi man living in Maryland caught the attention of the FBI after messages he posted online.

Authorities began zoning in on Nelash Mohamed Das after tweets like, "Envying ISIS members who reach Shahada," or "Heaven…for murdering Kuffars…or infidels."

Then came something specific.

"He had tweeted he wanted to kill a member of the U.S. military," said U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein.

According to court documents, September 2015 Das began tweeting support for ISIS.

In May, the FBI arranged for Das to meet an undercover source. On September 28th the source provided guns and Das bought ammunition. On September 30th, the two men drove to the target's home and Das was arrested by the FBI.

As of Wednesday afternoon Matthew remained a major hurricane with 120 mph winds and was starting to bear down on the Bahamas.

Forecasts as of Wednesday afternoon continue to bring Hurricane Matthew near the Florida and South Carolina coasts before turning the storm east. While this would limit impacts in the mid-Atlantic, a shift in the track back to the north would bring threat back for rain, wind and flooding. Please keep up with the latest forecast track.

Trump announces coalition to expose Hillary on abortion

Group's leadership reads like who's who of pro-life movement

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today released the following statement in response to the announcement of federal indictments of 80 defendants involved in a racketeering conspiracy at the Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover, Maryland. 80 people indicted in racketeering scheme at ECI

BALTIMORE —A three-year investigation has led to two federal grand jury indictments of 80 people in a racketeering conspiracy operating at Maryland's largest state prison, federal officials said Wednesday.

The indictments charge 18 correctional officers, 35 inmates and 27 outside facilitators for their roles in the conspiracy, which allegedly involved paying bribes to correctional officers to smuggle contraband, including narcotics, tobacco and cellphones, into the Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover. The indictments, returned Sept. 29, were unsealed Wednesday.

"Prison corruption is a longstanding, deeply rooted systemic problem that can only be solved by a combination of criminal prosecutions and policy changes," U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein said. "We will continue to work closely with state officials to prosecute correctional officers who bring cellphones, drugs and other contraband into correctional facilities, and to propose appropriate changes in prison policies and practices."

"Few things threaten our society more than public servants who betray their oath for personal gain," said Gordon B. Johnson, special agent in charge of the FBI Baltimore Division. "It was extremely courageous of the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services to allow the access required to conduct this type of investigation. The state of Maryland and the FBI together have made this community safer."

ECI is a medium-security prison for men built as two identical compounds (east and west) on 620 acres, housing more than 3,300 inmates in Somerset County on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The east and west compounds are divided into housing units: 1 through 4 in the west and 5 through 8 in the east.

Charles Wasko, Pa. mayor, posts photo comparing Obamas to monkeys, decries 'witch hunt'

A Pennsylvania mayor says he's the victim of a "witch hunt" amid calls for his resignation after he posted numerous racist messages on Facebook, including a photo comparing the Obama family to monkeys.

West York Mayor Charles Wasko, who was elected in 2013, posted a photo this summer showing a wheelbarrow full of baby orangutans and the caption, "Aww… moving day at the Whitehouse [sic] has finally arrived." Mr. Wasko also added his own message, writing, "Not soon enough!"

The mayor has not yet deleted the image.

Another post that has since been deleted suggested President Obama should be hanged with a noose, The York Dispatch reported. Another still active post featured a fictional black person explaining that socialism is "when the white folks work every day so we can get all our governmental entitlement stuff for free."

Another post in February showed a smiling chimpanzee with the now-deleted comment, "Most think it is Obama's picture……sorry its Moochelles baby photo," The York Dispatch reported.

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTRK) --As the police cruiser pulled up to the senior center, it wasn't public enemy number one inside, but number 102.

Edie Simms is 102-years young and had never been in the back of a police car. Edie was happy to have fulfilled her unusual bucket list wish.

"These types of events and Ms. Simms help us do that and were more than happy to do these type of things," says St. John McLaughlin, St. Louis Police Department. "We love it and we get more out of it than the seniors do."

Friday morning she was dispensing pearls of wisdom and free pairs of socks and scarves in the police station.

"Keep going, don't ever stop whatever it is you're doing and spend some time doing community service. Sometimes the person you reach out and touch is the only person that they will talk to in a day," says Simms.

DHS Official Admits: ‘Many’ Refugees Have Been Convicted of Terrorist Offenses in U.S.

DHS admits issue while attempting to downplay threat

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Leon Rodriguez told Congress Thursday that "not a single act of actual terrorist violence has been a committed by a refugee" who underwent USCIS screening procedures since 9/11. But when a senator asked him if it was "correct" that many people who came into the refugee program as adults had been "convicted of terrorist offenses," Rodriguez admitted that that was "correct."

Under further questioning by Sen. David Vitter (R.-La.), Rodriguez admitted that he did not know the actual number of refugees admitted to the U.S. who had later been convicted of terrorist offenses. Vitter said, in questioning Rodriguez, that Congress had asked the administration for this number and it had not been provided.

USCIS is part of the Department of Homeland Security.

Clinton is an unreconstructed elitist who disdains her fellow Americans. She notoriously told Barbra Streisand and a room full of rich, giggling liberals: "You could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the 'basket of deplorables.'"

Speaking Sept. 9 at a $6 million Manhattan fundraiser, she added: "They're racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it." Given Trump's following, Clinton sneered at some 50 million citizens.

She then doubled down during Monday's debate against Donald Trump.

Sen: DHS Silence On Refugee Terrorists Shows Disrespect To Americans

The Obama administration's failure to respond to congressional inquiries seeking information about refugees convicted of terrorism demonstrates its disrespect for Congress and the American people, according to Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions.

During a Senate Judiciary immigration subcommittee hearing held this week, the Alabama lawmaker pressed U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Leon Rodriguez on the agency's failure to respond to four letters asking about the refugee, terrorism nexus.

"Are you not aware that I have written four letters to the Department, asking for information on how many refugees have been convicted of criminal and terrorist activities?" Sessions asked.

Rodríguez responded that he was "not" and would follow up on the matter, a response to which Sessions replied with outrage.

Steven Williams sat stone-faced in a central Florida courtroom Friday as he was sentenced to 35 years in prison for murdering his ex-wife, cutting up her body with a chainsaw and then dissolving the remains in acid.

Williams, a former Air Force sergeant, learned his fate after pleading no contest in May to second-degree murder in the grisly killing of Tricia Todd.

Rawlings-Blake asks state for $30 million to help Baltimore pay for DOJ-mandated police reforms

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is asking the state for more than $30 million to pay for staffing increases, new technology and other investments in the Baltimore Police Department that the city expects will be mandated under a pending consent decree with the U.S. Department of Justice.

The requests, put to Gov. Larry Hogan in a letter made public Tuesday, break with previous statements by Rawlings-Blake that the consent decree reforms would likely cost the city substantially less and that the city would not look to the state or federal government to pick up the tab.

"Understanding the financial constraints of [the] State, I believe that it is important that you understand what the scope is of some of the City's needs," Rawlings-Blake wrote. She asks Hogan to prioritize the police improvements — along with several education, health and community development projects — as he begins considering his budget proposal for next year.

Carlos Slim More Than Doubles His Stake in Times Company

The Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helú has more than doubled his stake in The New York Times Company, to nearly 17 percent, the company said on Wednesday.

Mr. Slim exercised warrants to acquire nearly 16 million shares of the company's Class A stock at a price of over $6.36 a share, the company said, increasing his stake from 7 percent. He now owns nearly 28 million shares in total.

The company received more than $100 million in the transaction, it said, which it intends to use to repurchase Class A shares — a different category from the controlling Class B shares held by the Sulzberger family.

Mr. Slim, who made his money in telecommunications across Latin America, is one of the world's richest people, worth about $72 billion, according to Forbes. He lent the Times Company $250 million, at an interest rate of 14 percent, in 2009; at the time, with the world economy struggling and credit tight, the company looked to be in peril. The loan was repaid in 2011, more than three years before it was due. But the warrants, which expired this month, were issued in connection with that deal.

Not sure if you knew Bill, but he was a true Wicomico County patriot.

Quick story that I hope you can pass on.

Years ago, if you recall, many citizens in the county were at odds with certain members of the County Council regarding the pending decision on whether or not to fund the proposed Shorebirds Stadium. Foes, including the school teachers who felt they were underpaid, had bent the ears of the county councilmen, including President Henry Parker and the council was leaning in their direction. His argument was that the county should not be helping to fund a 'private' venture at the expense of the taxpayers and schools. The views were debated ad nauseam, and there was no clear consensus. The Daily Times, obviously was siding with the teachers union, so there was no way for the fans to explain the reason for their support.

At the time, I was on the board of the Chamber of Commerce, and most there backed Frank Perdue and Maryland Baseball. Each of the 3 parties, Frank Perdue, Maryland Baseball and Wicomico County were asked to toss in about $2m each.

So, one day, at a family birthday party picnic at Bill & Betsy Carey's house in Covered Bridge, Bill senior and I were having a conversation about the stadium. He knew I was on the board at the Chamber and asked if he could get more support from us for the construction of the stadium, as he was an avid baseball fan. I told him I would see what I could do to drum up support.

So, at the next board meeting, I propose that the chamber help organize a meeting so that Frank Perdue, representatives from Maryland Baseball, the board of education and county council could all explain their case in a public forum. If you recall, that meeting was held at the Civic Center on a cold snowy night. The weather was so bad, Frank could barely land his plane and was late getting to the meeting.

After everyone had the chance to share their opinions, Mr. Parker stood up and declared that the people have spoken and sided with Bill Carey in support of the stadium. The rest was history and we have an outstanding facility in our county that has helped bring people from all over to watch the shorebirds.

Long story short, if it wasn't for Bill, and the conversation we had in his son's back yard, the stadium might not have been built.

For that, Bill should be remembered and thanked by anyone who has ever attended a game or an event at the stadium should credit Bill Carey for his efforts. May he rest in peace.

Why Can't The SPD & WCSO Get Their Heads Out Of Their Pompous A$$ES?

The image above is a great example of community policing and working with the public. It truly would be nice, (and refreshing) to get such a press release so the public can get involved and garnish a quick return of the person missing. Don't believe me? Just look at how fast we reunite dogs and cats with their owners. 

Unfortunately, (believe it or not) the SPD & WCSO would rather NOT publish information of a child lost, sometimes for days at a time. Once they are located they finally put it out there by pounding their chest that they did in fact find the individual. This is absolutely ridiculous!

It is even more interesting how when they need us to help them find someone who robbed a Bank or a group of people who stole a candy bar from Walmart, oh they'll go nuts delivering us pictures and ASK for our help. In other words, do their job for them. 

Funny thing though. While SBYNews has far more local traffic then ANYONE else out there, the SPD & WCSO have NEVER given us credit for tips that have come in to help them find someone and or resolve a crime. OK, it gets even funnier. You see, when they NEED us they come racing our way because they know for a fact we have more traffic. However, when they do finally get that individual they were searching for they run to WBOC and talk about how it was "social media" that helped them solve the crime. 

All too often we see these CHILDREN who had been missing for days finally pop up with the SPD & WCSO after the fact, unlike the image you see above from Baltimore. Local law enforcement leaders need to stop acting like pompous a$$es and instead reach out (especially when it comes to children) to the public immediately.

They tend to use Facebook and Twitter to advertise what they do but not how we can help. When it comes to other law enforcement agencies like the Worcester County Sheriffs Office, they always provide all types useful information to media and social media.

Let's take last week for example. When roads started flooding throughout the County, not once did the SPD or the WCSO publish road closures anywhere. These are public servants. If you didn't know, whenever there is a snow storm or fog, (for example) the Board of Education depend on law enforcement to tell them the county weather conditions.  

The days of Barbara Duncan and Mike Lewis ignoring all media sources need to end. Love us or hate us here at SBYNews, the mass majority of residents on the Shore do in fact come to us every single day. God Forbid we have an opinion.

The most read story on the Washington Post website Thursday was a little number called "Enabler or family defender? How Hillary Clinton responded to husband's accusers." As a piece of explanatory journalism it was weirdly imprecise and incomplete.

The Post's reporter depicts Clinton as a wife whose political enemies, with their endless accusations about her husband's ever-failing zipper, left her no choice but to defend him "with steely determination." An old friend describes the Clintons' attitude: "These people are not going to run over us."

But who are "these people"? The Post would have you believe they're all those ill-tempered Republicans. But the statement is more accurate if "these people" are taken to be the women who have been reckless enough to have sex with Bill Clinton.

Obama DOJ drops charges against alleged provider of Libyan weapons

Arms dealer had threatened to expose Hillary Clinton's talks 
about arming anti-Qadhafi rebels.

The Obama administration is moving to dismiss charges against an arms dealer it had accused of selling weapons that were destined for Libyan rebels.

Lawyers for the Justice Department on Monday filed a motion in federal court in Phoenix to drop the case against the arms dealer, an American named Marc Turi, whose lawyers also signed the motion.

The deal averts a trial that threatened to cast additional scrutiny on Hillary Clinton's private emails as Secretary of State, and to expose reported Central Intelligence Agency attempts to arm rebels fighting Libyan leader Moammar Qadhafi.

Government lawyers were facing a Wednesday deadline to produce documents to Turi's legal team, and the trial was officially set to begin on Election Day, although it likely would have been delayed by protracted disputes about classified information in the case.

Tens of Thousands Projected to See Trump in Colorado as He Takes Lead in State over Hillary

The Trump Plan isn't trickle down economics

Hillary Clinton keeps bashing the Trump tax plan as "Trumped up trickle down economics." This class warfare card has become the standard and tired response to every Republican tax plan reform for 30 years. No wonder we haven't cleaned out the stables of the tax code since the Reagan era. Democrats have no interest.

Hillary's claim is that the plan will blow a hole in the debt (which is rich coming from someone who worked for an administration that nearly doubled the debt in eight years) and that the benefits all go to the rich. She also says it will cost jobs and could even "cause a recession."

I worked on devising the Trump tax plan with economists Larry Kudlow, Sam Clovis and others, so I know a little bit about the costs and the benefits. It's an amazing ideology which says that letting businesses keep more of their own money will cause the economy to capsize and other horrors, but a $1.5 trillion tax hike on businesses and investors will, as Hillary promises, create jobs. Yes, and injecting Elmer's glue into your veins is a good way to prevent a heart attack.

Court rebukes Mike Pence, rules states must accept Syrian refugees

States that refuse to help resettle Syrian refugees are guilty of illegal discrimination, a federal appeals court ruled Monday, delivering a judicial rebuke to GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence, who, as Indiana's governor, had tried to stop Syrians from being shipped into his state.

Judge Richard Posner, writing for the three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, said there's no evidence that Syrians are more dangerous than other refugees, and he said even if they are, allowing Indiana to refuse to resettle them would only foist the problem onto neighboring states.

"Federal law does not allow a governor to deport to other states immigrants he deems dangerous," Judge Posnerwrote.

He said if Mr. Pence has worries, the governor should report his fears to federal bureaucrats for redress.

The court said Indiana agencies don't have to cooperate with the federal government, but the state can't ban Syrian refugees, nor can it order nonprofit groups to stop helping the resettlement efforts.

Lawyer: Girl pepper-sprayed by police won’t face charges

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — A 15-year-old Maryland girl who was handcuffed, pepper-sprayed and charged with assaulting police officers after her bicycle hit a car won't face court proceedings, community service or supervision by juvenile authorities under an agreement her lawyer announced Tuesday.

Attorney Robin Ficker said the girl has written a letter to the state Department of Juvenile Services apologizing for cursing at officers who struggled to detain her after she refused to identify herself or her parents.

The girl had been charged by police as a juvenile with two counts of second-degree assault, plus disorderly conduct, marijuana possession and a traffic violation.

The Sept. 18 incident, captured by police body cameras and cellphone video, prompted three days of demonstrations by people demanding police accountability in Hagerstown, a city of 40,000 about 70 miles west of Baltimore.

At the close of business on Sept. 30, 2015, the last day of fiscal 2015, the federal debt was $18,150,617,666,484.33, according to the Treasury. By the close of business on Sept. 30, 2016, the last day of fiscal 2016, it had climbed to $19,573,444,713,936.79.

According to the Census Bureau's latest estimate, there were 118,215,000 households in the United States as of June. That means that the one-year increase in the federal debt of $1,422,827,047,452.46 in fiscal 2016 equaled about $12,036 per household.

10 Percent of Teachers Union’s Charity Goes to Clinton Entities

One of the nation's largest labor unions continues to pour hundreds of thousands of dollars into the Clinton family's controversial foundation.

The American Federation of Teachers, or ATF, the second largest teachers union in the country with more than 1.5 million dues-paying members, made about $5 million in "contributions, gifts, and grants" from July 2015 through June 2016, according to its most recent labor filing. The union contributed $500,000 to the Clinton Foundation and Clinton Global Initiative, or CGI, between July 2015 and February 2016 in payments classified as donations to a "charitable organization." The five contributions comprise about 10 percent of the union's overall charitable giving for the year.

Those contributions came in addition to the hundreds of thousands of dollars that the union has spent to aid Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party's electoral chances in 2016, according to education watchdog DropOutNation.

"AFT has worked zealously and successfully to win influence over Clinton and position traditionalists into key roles in shaping education policy if she wins the presidency," the group said in a blog post. "Meanwhile, AFT is making sure that the Democratic National Committee feels its presence. This includes handing out $300,000 to the Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee, which put together July's Democratic National Convention."

The Moderator In Last Nights Debate Overwhelmingly Favored Kaine

While I usually hit the sack early each night, I sat up and watched last nights debate. I was truly bothered with the moderator who constantly allowed Kaine to rudely interrupt Pence and carry on. Pence respectfully and patiently took these interruptions early on but eventually started defending himself and Trump on the multiple lies Kaine kept suggesting.

There are RULES put in place well before each debate to assure a professional environment. Isn't it interesting how they plant moderators who are weak and cannot control these candidates. They should have a kill button on their microphones to assure they cannot be heard. Better yet, we should bring forth respectful and professional candidates that actually answer the important questions being asked.

Ladies & Gentlemen, this is the Unites States of America. We set examples. The debates in our country any more are nothing short of National Enquirer platforms and we should ALL be ashamed. 

Someone made a comment yesterday that our younger generations should blame the older generation for ALLOWING our country to fall into the gutter and leaving them with politicians and environments they will have to pull themselves out of in the future, they are right. Bush posed in photos with Abedin, Vogue contributing editor Lauren Santo Domingo, actress Dakota Fanning and Vanity Fair's Derek Blasberg at the fundraiser Saturday night, The Hill reported.

Santo Domingo posted the photo of the group online with the caption "We're with her."

A spokesperson for the former president as well as Clinton aides did not respond to requests for comment by CNN.

Barbara Bush is the latest in the Bush family to support Clinton.

It's a sordid tale of two Bills: In both cases, dozens of women say they were sexually victimized by powerful men and threatened to stay silent about the traumatic assaults.

But there's a crucial difference between the two scenarios involving actor and comedian Bill Cosby and former President Bill Clinton.

Women in Clinton's past were targeted by the IRS and reportedly found themselves on death lists.

Clinton paramour Monica Lewinsky and Lewinsky confidante Linda Tripp – who secretly recorded phone conversations about the White House intern's trysts with the president – found their names on those death lists.

Meanwhile, Clinton's female sex-assault accusers were audited by the IRS – including Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick. Also added to the list of IRS targets was actress and former Miss America Elizabeth Ward Gracen, who had sex with Clinton in 1983 and was warned to keep quiet about the affair.

I just moved to the Town of Vienna about a year ago and heard a bunch of thugs arguing on race about a hour ago, turns out a black woman in her 50s kicked a white teen girl in the face because of a argument with a relative of hers. The black woman took off. What the hell is going on in small towns, This country is a ticking time bomb. These punks are coming from out of town and stirring up race issues. This woman needs to be found like the punks that assaulted that white SU student needs to be charged as a hate crime.

Here is the latest information on Major Hurricane Matthew as of 5 AM EDT. Matthew is a Category 3 Hurricane with max winds of 125 mph and is moving to the N at 10 mph. The storm is located just north of the eastern tip of Cuba.

The most recent forecast has shifted the track of Matthew further southeast, bringing the greatest impacts near the coast and offshore. However, there is still plenty of uncertainty on how Matthew will impact the region.

Recently I received another questionnaire and request for money from the Republican Party and strongly agree with every question, as I have since Obama was elected.

Unfortunately the one question that was missing is: What have the Republicans done for the American people?

We gave you a majority in the House and Senate, and you never listened to us. Now you want our money, my money, more money. You should be more concerned about our votes, not our money.

You are the establishment which means all you want is to save your jobs and line your pockets

Well guess what? It's not going to happen.

You might think we are fools because you feel Trump is on a self-destruct course, but look beyond Washington and listen to the masses. Nobody has achieved what he has, especially in the state of New York.

Here's why I want Trump.
Yes, he's a bit of an ass; yes, he's an egomaniac; but I don't care.
The country is a mess because politicians suck.
The Republican Party is two-faced and gutless, and illegals are everywhere.
I want it all fixed!
I don't care that Trump is crude.
I don't care that he insults people.
I don't care that he has changed positions.
I don't care that he's been married 3 times.
I don't care that he fights with Megan Kelly and Rosie O'Donnell.
I don't care that he doesn't know the name of some Muslim terrorist.

Our country has become weak, and bankrupt. Our enemies are making fun of us. We are being invaded by illegals. We are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo and Hassid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were born and raised in, "AND I JUST WANT IT FIXED."

And Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what We The People want and need.

I'm sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and sick of illegals. I just want this thing fixed.

Trump may not be a saint, but he doesn't have lobbyist money controlling him; he doesn't have political correctness restraining him; all you know is that he has been very successful; a good negotiator; he has built a lot of things; and, he's also not a politician.

And, he says he'll fix it. And, I believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar.

Battling The Leading Cause Of Death For Women – Heart Disease

When researchers in the Netherlands recently compiled data from 32 studies involving more than 300,000 women, they reached a disturbing conclusion.

Women who experience early menopause – before the age of 45 – face an increased risk for heart disease and premature death.

"This is why women who go into early menopause need to pay special attention to their lifestyle choices and habits," says Mache Seibel, M.D., a leading American expert on menopause and author of The Estrogen Window(www.EstrogenWindowBook.com).

Those same women also should explore the possibility of taking estrogen, which in addition to its other benefits can help reduce the risk of death from heart disease, he says.

It's a point worth making any time, but is especially appropriate in October, which is World Menopause Month, with Oct. 18 being World Menopause Day.

Estrogen therapy, typically used to minimize menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, irritability and weight gain, has been controversial.

More than a decade ago, the Women's Health Initiative advised menopausal women to stop using estrogen because of a reported increase in breast cancer, strokes and heart attacks.

Since then, flaws and limitations with the WHI study have come to light, reversing some of the thinking in the medical community.

"Estrogen is safe and beneficial for the majority of women if taken in the estrogen window," Seibel says. In fact, estrogen, if taken in the estrogen window, can lower the risk of death from heart disease.

The "estrogen window" represents the ideal time to begin estrogen replacement. The window opens the moment a woman enters menopause. Exactly when it closes is more difficult to determine, Seibel says. Generally, it's a 10-year time frame, but that can vary and women should have ongoing discussions with their physicians, he says.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women so it's critical that they and their doctors understand the role estrogen plays in reducing that risk, Seibel says.

A few facts women need to keep in mind include:

• Age is not the deciding factor. It's not a woman's age but rather how many years since she went through menopause that determines whether estrogen will be protective or potentially harmful. "Unfortunately," Seibel says, "even with the current thinking, some doctors are unaware that estrogen is beneficial in preventing heart disease or simply don't have enough time to adequately explain this to patients."
• Women's symptoms differ from men. When men experience a heart attack, they often have crushing chest pain or radiating pain down the left arm, and sometimes right arm. While women can have those symptoms, Seibel says, they are more likely to feel profound fatigue, lightheadedness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting. They may also notice neck, jaw, back or upper abdominal pain. Women who have persistent symptoms such as those should tell their doctor as soon as possible.
• Overall lifestyle matters. Regardless of whether a woman chooses to take estrogen, Seibel says, maintaining a healthy lifestyle can help reduce the risk of heart disease. Women who smoke should quit because smokers have two to six times the risk of heart attack as non-smokers. They also should exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, watch their weight and reduce stress.

"The important thing," Seibel says, "is for women to educate themselves and understand that there are proactive steps they can take to remain physically and mentally healthy and thrive beyond menopause. Time spent on you isn't lost; it's invested!"
