Border Patrol Agents Shocking Admission About Obama Amnesty Posted: 14 Apr 2016 08:30 PM PDT We've reported for weeks about how lawless Obama's immigration policy is. When it comes to protecting America's borders, he's chosen to look the other way, opening the door for drug dealers, terrorists, murderers, rapists, and the diseased to come right into America and threaten its hardworking citizens. How bad has the situation become? Deportations are at a record low, in part because Obama's amnesty has made it simple for illegals to simply lie about their status and stay as long as they'd like. The important part is in bold: Fewer people are being deported now than any other time in the last five years. When Homeland Security charges someone with a violation of immigration law, they give them one of two papers. It's either a notice to appear or a notice of referral to an immigration judge. The people get tracked by the Department of Justice. After that, if the person is ordered to be removed or if they are granted relief, Homeland Security takes over again for the next step. CHANNEL 5 NEWS acquired the latest deportation numbers from the U.S. Department of Justice. We now know how many people are leaving the country and who is getting processed the most. Half of the people caught crossing the border illegally never make it to an immigration court. We noticed the numbers are way off. A little more than 187,000 people were brought to the court for removal proceedings. It's the majority of the 199,534 cases received in 2015. But Homeland Security officials said they caught more than twice that number in 2014 and 2015. "As long as they claim to be here before 2014, we just let them go," said Brandon Judd from the National Border Patrol Council. "They don't have to prove it. They just have to tell us." There's two sets of standards at play here: one for law breaking foreigners, and one for every day Americans. Do your civic duty and run a totally legal group that opposes Barack Obama's policies, and you'll get a visit from the IRS and a full cavity search. Come here from a foreign country demanding free education, healthcare, and cradle to grave welfare, and you're treated like an honored guest. Obama's America. Smuggler Who Hid 51 Turtles in Pants Sentenced to 57 Months Posted: 14 Apr 2016 07:30 PM PDT Enhanced penalties came into play because value of turtles confiscated at airports exceed $1 million, government says. ANN ARBOR, MI – The notorious international turtle smuggler who stuffed more than 50 turtles in his pants in an attempt to sneak them across the U.S.-Canada border in 2014 — and shipped thousands more to China — received a nearly five-year prison sentence in federal court in Ann Arbor Tuesday. A remorseful Kai Xu, 27, who already has been jailed for 19 months, told U.S. District Judge John Corbett O'Meara that he was grateful to border patrol agents "for stopping the darkness of my greed and ignorance," the Associated Press reports. He claimed in a letter to the judge he got into the lucrative international turtle smuggling ring because he needed the money to pay the tuition for his final year of engineering school in Ontario, Canada. Arrests made as hundreds of elderly Americans protest at 2nd ‘Democracy Spring’ sit-in Posted: 14 Apr 2016 07:00 PM PDT Hundreds of Americans, many of whom are elderly, marched in support of political reform in Washington, DC, taking part in a sit-in and risking arrest as they pushed for fairer elections. RT's 'Redacted Tonight' host Lee Camp was one of those detained. Already, multiple arrests have been made, according to reports from those on the ground near the demonstrations. According to RT's correspondents, police have started releasing some of the protesters. The sit-in comes one day after more than 400 people were arrested for participating in what has been been termed the 'Democracy Spring' movement. The organization has planned for 10 days of demonstrations and mass sit-ins at the US capitol, with day two highlighting efforts from older Americans who want to see change. Don’t Believe Electronic Voting Machines are BEING Hacked? Posted: 14 Apr 2016 06:00 PM PDT Well, there's the proof. 'Nuf said. Where are the investigations? My neighbor buddy used to work for a company that wrote the software for these machines. He claims that the security on these voting machines is so piss poor that it is beyond belief and that the cheapest of cellphones have more security. Sadly, these machines are made to exacting specifications as required by the government. It is obvious that we need to return to paper ballots and manual counting. We don't need instant results. We need accurate results. Patriots have died to provide us the right to vote. We need to demand honesty in our voting process. Until those demands are made, and changes implemented, then these machines will stay in place. Spread this video far and wide. GO HERE to view the video.
Maryland Carry Laws Prevent Citizens From Legally Protecting Themselves Posted: 14 Apr 2016 05:30 PM PDT The headline says it all! Maryland carry permit laws prevent the average citizen from legally protecting themselves. The residents of Maryland need to come together and make a change, we need to make Maryland a safer state to live, by allowing law abiding citizens to carry out the right to legally protect themselves. While we shouldn't change the law in response to the terror attacks in Paris, by denying Maryland citizens the ability to lawfully defend themselves, such a tragedy could occur here unabated until a response arrives. The crime rate in this state will drop, and people won't have to worry about getting robbed while simply walking down the street at night. Let's all come together and try to show our elected officials that we, as residents, deserve the right to protect ourselves. Thanks for your support. This petition will be delivered to:

Family Leave' Funded With Your Paycheck Posted: 14 Apr 2016 05:00 PM PDT If you're employed, beware. An alarming attitude is sweeping the nation that your paycheck is fair game to fix any social problem. Left-wing legislators across the nation are mandating deductions from everyone's paycheck to fund paid family medical leave programs. The programs are used mostly by women to stay home with their newborns. Sounds warm and fuzzy, but looting your paycheck to fund it amounts to legal plunder. The left is using the law to take what you've earned and give the money to someone else. New York State lawmakers are savoring their 15 minutes of fame for passing the most "progressive" paid family leave law in the nation. "Reckless" is a more like it. Witch Hunt Against Climate Skeptics Begins Posted: 14 Apr 2016 04:30 PM PDT It's not just the country's university campuses that are increasingly under attack by anti-free speech zealots. The vicious, vehemently non-inclusive eco-fascist lobby that demands to see climate skeptics put behind bars — which the Justice Department recently confirmed is a definite possibility — may finally be getting its way. The effort began in late March with the formation of the group "AGs United for Clean Power," which consists of 17 attorneys general whose mission it is to stifle any and all opposition to what they wrongly label "settled science." Heritage Foundation fellows Hans von Spakovsky and Cole Wintheiser draw a link to the Spanish Inquisition, which they point out "systematically silenced any citizen who held views that did not align with the king's." They continue: "Using the powerful arm of the government, the grand inquisitor, Tomas de Torquemada, and his henchmen sought out all those who held religious, scientific, or moral views that conflicted with the monarch's, punishing the 'heretics' with jail sentences; property confiscation; fines; and in severe cases, torture and execution." In this case, the authors say, the grand inquisitor is Al Gore, who lauded the witch hunt as "exceptionally important." More here
Sowell: The 'Voice of the People' Fallacy Posted: 14 Apr 2016 04:00 PM PDT We hear many fallacies in election years. The fallacy that seems to be most popular this year is that, if Donald Trump comes close to getting the 1,237 delegates required to become the Republican nominee, and that nomination goes instead to someone else, then the convention will have ignored "the voice of the people." Supposedly Republican voters would be outraged, many would stay home on election day, and some might even vote for the Democrats' nominee, whether Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. Mr. Trump has more than once made the veiled threat that he would run as a third-party candidate if the Republicans failed to "respect" him. And of course Trump would himself decide what "respect" means. In so far as the voting public believes the fallacy that choosing someone other than Trump is ignoring "the voice of the people," when Trump has the most delegates, his threat carries weight. In reality, Trump has never gotten a majority of the votes in any state. In other words, "the voice of the people" has been consistently against nominating Trump. In a poll of Republican voters in Wisconsin, 20 percent of them said that they would be "concerned" if Trump became President of the United States, and 35 percent said that they would be "scared." If "the voice of the people" has spoken, whether in Wisconsin or nationally, what it has said repeatedly is "No" to Donald Trump. The illusion of Trump's overwhelming appeal to the Republican voters has been maintained by the fragmenting of Republican votes because so many candidates were running as conservatives that Trump won primaries without ever getting a majority of the votes. Posted: 14 Apr 2016 04:10 PM PDT Julie Brewington, a member of the local Wicomico County Republican Central Committee has come out publicly attacking anyone that supports Donald Trump, on her facebook page. Below is what she posted yesterday. Julie said: I'm going to make an executive decision here on my page. All and any Trump supporters need to exit stage right. If you don't of your own free will, I will help you out the door. Not only is Trump a Democrat, he has no idea what he's doing or talking about and foolish people will vote for him and lose the general election to Hillary and the GOP and the Nation is done! I am a daughter of the American Revolution. I do not take this lightly and if you don't support the constitution, I don't support you. I could not be more se rious. Further, if you don't want to get your hands dirty and help the Cruz campaign you are equally contributing. Do not ask me to help your campaign. Do not ask me for anything unless you help in this cause. Trump gave his multiple wives weight limits in his prenups. WEIGHT LIMITS or he'd divorce them. This PIG wil never see the light of day in the Oval. I've deleted close to 70 Trumptards. It's a sport now. I will not tolerate it at all. I will not vote for any representative that supports him. Subject: The Absurd Demands of Harvard Students Who Feel Guilty About Their ‘Privilege’ Posted: 14 Apr 2016 03:00 PM PDT Where direct regulation does not change hearts and minds, America's universities have long used indoctrination. At Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, for example, student orientation now includes instruction in "privilege." If you aren't already aware: "privilege" is a term employed in conversation as a way to encourage the listener to recognize that his or her upbringing might be clouding dialogue. In practice, the term is generally used to shame and intimidate people they don't like: Usually ordinary Americans. But this kind of shaming is not enough, apparently. For months now, students and faculty at Harvard Law School have banded together to create what they have labeled the "Reclaim Harvard Law Movement." While not really a movement, these privileged students are making increasingly silly demands. They argue that "the law school (Harvard) refuses to provide adequate institutional support for an office of diversity and inclusion, hire critical race theorists, promote staff of color in the workplace to management positions in their due course, provide adequate contextualization in curricula, educate its professors, its staff, and its students around cultural competency, take the steps that are necessary to accord adequate and equal dignity to marginalized students." On top of this, they claim that the law school promotes and sustains systems of systemic racism and exclusion of marginalized groups. That's a lot of finger pointing to do for a law school which openly states that their law school population is comprised of 44 percent students of color. More here
Clinton Foundation Male Execs Earn 38% More Than Women Posted: 14 Apr 2016 02:30 PM PDT Male executives at the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation earn 38 percent more than women executives, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation review of the foundation's latest IRS tax filings. The foundation's 2013 IRS form 990 reveals that nearly three times as many men as women occupy the executive suites at the Little Rock, Arkansas-based foundation. On average, top male executives at the foundation earn $109,000 more than the top female executives with positions in the C-suite. The numbers were in stark contrast to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's campaign-oriented "Equal Pay Day" speech, which she delivered in Silicon Valley Tuesday. She charged that equal pay for women was "long overdue." "I feel like [equal pay] is something that's long overdue," she told an event organized by Glassdoor, which compares salaries and working conditions at corporations. "It is way past time to end the outrage of so many women still earning less than men on the job," she told the audience. More
Senate Panel Issues Subpoena To EPA’s McCarthy Posted: 14 Apr 2016 02:00 PM PDT The Senate Indian Affairs Committee acted Wednesday to subpoena EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy after the agency refused to provide witnesses to a field hearing on the EPA-caused Gold King Mine spill. Chairman John Barrasso, Wyoming Republican, and vice chairman Jon Tester, Montana Democrat, said they agreed to issue the subpoena ordering Ms. McCarthy or Assistant Administrator Mathy Stanislaus to testify at the April 22 hearing in Phoenix. Mr. Barrasso said the subpoena would be served on the EPA later Wednesday. Committee members blasted the EPA for its lack of cooperation in aiding the panel in its oversight role on the Aug. 5 spill, in which an EPA-led crew uncorked 3 million gallons of orange contaminated wastewater during a mine cleanup project. The contamination washed from Cement Creek into the Animas River near Silverton, Colorado, and poured into the San Juan River in New Mexico, which runs through the Navajo Nation. "[I]t troubles me that this committee had to take the extraordinary step of issuing a subpoena to a confirmed federal official," Mr. Barrasso said. "I am troubled further that the EPA would disregard such failures and attempt to avoid the responsibility by refusing to appear before the committee and answer questions," he said. "This sort of behavior is unbecoming of any federal official and won't be tolerated." More
WCSO Press Release - April 14, 2016 Posted: 14 Apr 2016 01:46 PM PDT Incident: Assault Date of Incident: 11 April 2016 Location: 1000 block of Beaglin Park Drive, Salisbury, MD Suspects: Male Juvenile, 14, Salisbury MD Male Juvenile, 14, Salisbury, MD Male Juvenile, 16, Salisbury, MD Narrative: On 11 April at 2:53 PM deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported fight on the grounds of an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Beaglin Park Drive in Salisbury. Investigation revealed that several subjects between two groups became involved in a mutual affray that drew the attention of staff from the apartment complex that helped bring the fight to an end. One of the participants at the conclusion of the fight then broke out a window on a vehicle that one of the groups used to travel to the location which then precipitated a tumultuous response from that other group. In this response, two individuals brandished baseball bats and chased after the individual who broke out the window. An assault with these baseball bats was then reportedly perpetrated against the individual who broke out the window. Salisbury EMS responded and transported the individual struck with the bats to PRMC where he was treated and released. The Investigating deputy learned that this altercation was a continuation from a previous incident that happened several days prior. The investigating deputy has identified all the individuals responsible in this incident and at this time three juveniles have been charged. The investigation is on-going and more arrests are possible. Charges: Assault 2nd, Disorderly Conduct and Affray
Shoe Company: Obama Admin Pressured Us to Stay Quiet on TPP Posted: 14 Apr 2016 01:30 PM PDT The Boston Globe is reporting that U.S.-based shoe manufacturer New Balance has come out hard against the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal. The odd thing, though, is that "the Boston company had gone quiet [on TPP] last year." Now, apparently, we know why: New Balance officials say one big reason is that they were told the Department of Defense would give them serious consideration for a contract to outfit recruits with athletic shoes. But no order has been placed, and New Balance officials say the Pentagon is intentionally delaying any purchase. New Balance is reviving its fight against the trade deal, which would, in part, gradually phase out tariffs on shoes made in Vietnam. A loss of those tariffs, the company says, would make imports cheaper and jeopardize its factory jobs in New England. Tariffs on shoes are steep, and New Balance is one of a handful of shoe companies that still manufactures shoes in the United States. (Though, 75 percent of their shoes are made abroad.) Tennessee State Legislature on Track to Sue Feds Over Refugee Resettlement Posted: 14 Apr 2016 01:00 PM PDT NASHVILLE, Tennessee – The Tennessee General Assembly is on track to sue the federal government over the refugee resettlement program on Tenth Amendment grounds after Senate Joint Resolution 467 cleared its last substantive hurdle in the Tennessee House Finance Committee. The resolution sailed through the committee on a voice vote, and is now headed to the Calendar and Rules Committee, which will schedule a vote on the floor of the House of Representatives some time during the next seven days. The resolution is expected to pass in a landslide, as 74 of the House's 99 members have already signed on as sponsors. In February, the resolution easily passed the State Senate by a 27 to 5 margin. "As SJR 467 is moving forward, other states will read our actions. I am pleased that seventy-four of my colleagues believe wholeheartedly that Tennessee is responsible for asserting our state's sovereignty rights under the Tenth Amendment," State Rep. Terri Lynn Weaver (R-Lancaster), the sponsor of the resolution in the House, tells Breitbart News. "We have seen unprecedented federal overreach during the Obama administration. We need clarity and definition concerning the relationship between the federal government and our state when it comes to appropriations to pay for the federal Refugee Resettlement Program," Weaver adds. It is now a virtual certainty that the Tennessee General Assembly will file the lawsuit in federal court, as the Thomas More Law Center, a well-respected conservative public interest law firm, has said it will represent the state of Tennessee at no cost, even if Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery chooses not to litigate the case. House panel votes to ban feds from reading emails without a warrant Posted: 14 Apr 2016 12:30 PM PDT Legislation banning federal officials from reading private emails without a warrant sailed unanimously through a key committee vote on Wednesday, following the adoption of "carefully-negotiated" amendments that reflected issues raised by law enforcement. "Today is a great day for not only the Fourth Amendment advocates who have fought long and hard to move the Email Privacy Act, but also for all Americans, who are one step closer to having private and secure digital communications," Kansas Rep. Kevin Yoder, the lead Republican on the bill, said Wednesday. Federal officials have claimed the authority to require Internet service providers to hand over private emails that are more than six months old, on the theory that the messages have been "abandoned" by the users. Yoder's plan to end that practice had substantial bipartisan support, but law enforcement pushback prompted another round of negotiations in the Judiciary Committee. "The bill as introduced is opposed by virtually every law enforcement and prosecutorial association in the country," House Judiciary Committee chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., who helped lead the negotiations to amend the bill, said in a statement Wednesday at a hearing to mark up the legislation. "I am a strong advocate for enhancing Americans' privacy. However, reforms are needed to the Email Privacy Act to protect crime victims and minimize unintended consequences of some of the provisions in the bill." More

General: Border 'Is Not Secure,' 18,000 'Little Boys' and Girls Cross as Sex Slaves Posted: 14 Apr 2016 12:00 PM PDT The just retired four-star Marine Corps general in charge if U.S. Southern Command said Wednesday that 18,000 adolescent girls, "little boys," hundreds of tons of cocaine and heroin, and tens of thousands of illegals cross the U.S.-Mexico border with ease every year. "If all of that is getting in, no problem, then it would argue that our border is not secure," retired Gen. John F. Kelly said matter-of-factly at a Senate hearing on drug trafficking. He left the post, based in Miami, in January. In just two minutes, he listed exactly what gets through and how fast items like drugs are distributed by criminal networks that control the flow in and out of the United States. "18,000 young women, mostly adolescents, young girls, are trafficked into our country every year as sex workers. I don't think they know they are coming here to be sex workers," he told Senator Johnson. "Some little boys as well to provide the same services," said Kelly, a celebrated general who served 45 years. "We think that an unlimited amount of drugs get into this country. In the hundreds of tons. Not even counting marijuana, in the hundreds of tons, of cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine, gets in, no problem, gets all the way to Portland, Maine, as fast as it gets to San Diego," he added. Cruz Suggests Prison for Clinton Posted: 14 Apr 2016 11:30 AM PDT Ted Cruz on Monday implied that if given the opportunity, he will take Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton out of the public eye once and for all. "I've got slightly different government housing in mind for her," Cruz told a rally for his presidential campaign in Irvine, Calif., in reference to the prospect of Clinton entering the White House. He did not elaborate on what he had in mind, though past comments make it clear. He said in March that he would "absolutely" seek to prosecute Clinton if the current Justice Department refuses to do so. More
Subject: IRS Commissioner: Flat Tax Would Be Simpler, Save Agency a Lot of Money Posted: 14 Apr 2016 11:00 AM PDT IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told lawmakers on Wednesday that implementing a flat tax would be simpler than the current tax system and would save the agency a lot of money. At a hearing of the House Small Business Committee, Koskinen urged lawmakers to approve President Obama's 2017 budget for the IRS, which increases funding for the agency. "The IRS's funding was cut significantly for the five years from 2011 to 2015, and those reductions have taken a toll on both taxpayer service and enforcement programs," the commissioner said. "I continue to urge Congress to approve the president's fiscal year 2017 budget for the IRS, which requests a base increase of $530 million over the fiscal year 2016 enacted level." Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R., Mo.) asked Koskinen whether a flat tax policy would save the agency money. "There's a lot of discussion with regards to the flat tax," Luetkemeyer said. "I realize that is a policy decision, but from the standpoint of the IRS being able to implement a flat tax, how much would it save you from people being hired and the money being expended because of the simplification of that?" "Would you estimate that would help your budget problem here that we keep addressing?" the congressman asked. "I don't think I have a number for you but clearly if you had a two-page form or a one-page form where you got rid of all the deductions and everything else and people just paid in effect either a flat tax or a graduated flat tax it would be simpler for taxpayers and it would be much simpler for us," Koskinen said. FCC Kept ‘Obamaphone’ Fraud Under Wraps Until After It Expanded Program Posted: 14 Apr 2016 10:30 AM PDT Commissioners were instructed not to reveal multi-million fine until day after controversial Lifeline expansion vote Federal regulators were instructed to keep a massive fraud investigation under wraps until a day after a controversial vote to expand a program that was allegedly used to bilk taxpayers of tens of millions of dollars, one those regulators claims. The Federal Communications Commission on Friday announced that it would seek $51 million in damages from a cell phone company that allegedly defrauded the federal Lifeline program of nearly $10 million. The commission's five members unanimously backed the Notice of Apparent Liability (NAL), but Republican commissioner Ajit Pai parted from his colleagues in a partial dissent. According to Pai, he and other commissioners were told not to reveal the details of its investigation until April 1, a day after the FCC voted to expand the Lifeline program. "Commissioners were told that the Notice of Apparent Liability could not be released or publicly discussed until April 1, 2016, conveniently one day after the Commission was scheduled to expand the Lifeline program to broadband," Pai wrote. "That's not right." Pai did not say who issued that directive. More

Mary Matalin: Colorado GOP Delegate Rules Meant to Prevent 'Mob Rule' Posted: 14 Apr 2016 10:00 AM PDT The party rules that allowed Ted Cruz to sweep Colorado's Republican delegates without a popular vote are perfectly legitimate and designed to curb "mob rule" — despite Donald Trump's howls of protest, veteran GOP consultant Mary Matalin tells Newsmax TV. "It's been the process in the Republican Party for 160 years and it's been the process that our entire country was founded on," Matalin said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show. "We're not a democracy and the reason the Founders made it like that was to guard against mob rule…. I can understand why people would think it is counter intuitive to one-man, one-vote — but everybody's had this access to the same information, the same rules." Colorado Republicans canceled their presidential caucus last August and instead picked 37 delegates at the state convention, 34 of them Cruz supporters. After last week's loss, Trump accused the Republican establishment of trying to destroy his chances of clinching the party's nomination, calling the process "a sham" and "a rigged, disgusting, dirty system" that's "stacked against me." Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus fired back on Twitter that there was "nothing mysterious" about the Colorado GOP deciding last summer to drop a statewide vote. "Nomination process known for a year + beyond. It's the responsibility of the campaigns to understand it. Complaints now? Give us all a break," Priebus said in his tweet. Subject: Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab Population Shows Improvement Posted: 14 Apr 2016 09:53 AM PDT Spawning-Age Female Number Nearly Doubles The Maryland Department of Natural Resources today released the results of the 2016 Blue Crab Winter Dredge Survey, which show another year of growth in the stock of the Chesapeake Bay crab population and bodes well for a better harvest this year. The survey indicates a bay-wide crab population of 553 million, a 35-percent increase over last year. This is the fourth highest level in two decades, and builds on last year's 38-percent boost in abundance. "Due to a milder winter, favorable currents and tides, and wise bay-wide management measures, the Maryland crab population continues to rebound and strengthen," Fisheries Service Director Dave Blazer said. "With an increase in abundance and steady recruitment, we fully anticipate a robust crab season this year." Improvements were seen in all age groups of male and female crabs. The spawning female stock nearly doubled from 101 to 194 million and the adult male stock more than doubled from 44 to 91 million – the second highest levels since 1995. The number of spawning-age female crabs remains below the 215 million target but above the minimum threshold established in 2011. The juvenile crab abundance increased slightly from 269 million to 271 million, which is just above the 27-year average. "The highly variable nature of the blue crab population means that we must maintain a degree of caution in considering management adjustments," Chesapeake Bay Stock Assessment Committee Chairman Glenn Davis said. The 2015 bay-wide crab harvest increased by 42 percent over 2014 to 50 million pounds and remained at sustainable levels for the eighth consecutive year. This combined with increased abundance means that a slight liberalization of harvest limits for female crabs may be warranted this summer. "Our experts will now discuss the survey results with our internal and external stakeholders," Blazer said. "Any modest adjustment to the current regulations, be it season length or bushel limit, will be considered only after the department receives input from all parties." The Chesapeake Bay Stock Assessment Committee plans to release a full analysis this summer. The annual Winter Dredge Survey, conducted by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Virginia Institute of Marine Science since 1990, is the primary assessment of the Chesapeake Bay's blue crab population. In the survey, biologists use dredge equipment to capture, measure, record and release blue crabs at 1,500 sites throughout the bay from December through March. Crabs tend to bury in the mud over the cold winter months, which makes it possible for scientists to develop accurate estimates of the number of crabs.
Posted: 14 Apr 2016 09:45 AM PDT SALISBURY — We are all familiar with the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child." A traditional African proverb that has never been more necessary than it is today. These words and the meaning behind them ring true for children in foster care and their families. "Our foster families and resource parents are what make up our villages," said Kelly Myrer, Wicomico County Department of Social Services. "And it is our job as a department to make sure we have qualified, caring and supportive homes to place foster children in during one of the most vulnerable times of their childhood." Police Ambush Suspect Asked Brother to Send Video of Attack to Hip-Hop Website, Detective Says Posted: 14 Apr 2016 09:30 AM PDT Michael Ford allegedly asked his brother to record the attack and send it to World Star Hip Hop, his girlfriend and others The man suspected of opening fire on police officers in Maryland last month asked his brother to send video of the attack, which police say led to the death of an officer, to the entertainment website WorldStarHipHop.com, a detective testified Wednesday. Prince George's County Detective Joshua Malinowski testified in court Wednesday morning that suspected shooter Michael Ford, 22, told his brothers, Elijah and Malik Ford, he wanted to attack police. Michael Ford told Malik to record the planned March 13 attack and send cellphone video to the website, the suspected shooter's girlfriend and other contacts in his phone, Malinowski said. "They were hoping that there would be some sort of notoriety that would come out of this," Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said. More

Prosecutors said the detainee suffered a laceration to his forehead, and bled in the holding cell. Defense attorney Chaz Ball says he is happy with the jury's finding. White House asks PAC to pull ad in Maryland primary race Posted: 14 Apr 2016 09:15 AM PDT BALTIMORE (AP) — The White House on Wednesday asked a political action committee that supports Maryland Rep. Donna Edwards' Senate bid to pull an advertisement on gun control for being "misleading." Rep. Chris Van Hollen, Edwards' opponent in the Democratic primary who is targeted in the ad, denounced it as "a new low in Maryland politics." Jennifer Friedman, a spokeswoman for President Barack Obama, said the Working for Us PAC was asked to pull the ad by David Simas, the White House political director. "He made clear that the use of the president's image and statement in this context were misleading," Friedman said. The ad shows Obama tearing up while talking about Connecticut's Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The television ad says Van Hollen supported a campaign finance disclosure bill that didn't include the National Rifle Association. The ad also says the congressman met with NRA lobbyists to put a loophole in the bill to exempt them, while Edwards stood up to the gun lobby. More

"We're concerned about our high levels of syphilis among men who have sex with men – really we're back to the level of disease – burden of disease – in gay men that we were seeing before HIV in this country," said Gail Bolan, director of the CDC's Division of STD Prevention. Three-Time Deported Drug Dealer Caught Selling Meth In Ohio Posted: 14 Apr 2016 08:00 AM PDT MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – Eleazar Flores-Lopez, 37, of Mexico was sentenced Monday to 11 years in prison for the possession of over eight pounds of meth in Montgomery County. Eleazar Flores-Lopez and his brother, Joel Flores-Lopez, — who was previously sentenced to 11 years prison — were stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 75 near Edwin C. Moses Boulevard in Dayton in October 2014. A K-9 unit alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle. Over eight pounds of methamphetamine were recovered. Investigators believe the defendants were smuggling the drugs from Mexico. Eleazar Flores-Lopez was convicted of one count aggravated possession of drugs. "The defendants have been deported back to Mexico a number of times previously by the federal government," said Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck in a release. "We cannot and will not tolerate anyone bringing massive amounts of drugs into our community. Everything You Need To Know Ahead Of Maryland's Primary Posted: 14 Apr 2016 07:30 AM PDT Where do I vote? What races are on my ballot? You can check your registration and polling place, and view your sample ballot using the state's voter registration lookup. The lists of candidates on there will also include links to campaign finance and candidates' social media pages, where available, and other more general resources like FactCheck.org, Politifact and the Federal Election Commission. When are polling places open? On April 26, your local precinct will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are in line at 8 p.m., you should still be able to vote. When can I vote early, and where can I do it? Early voting polling places are open Thursday through next Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The State Board of Elections has a list of early voting polling places on its website. You have to go to a polling place in the county you're registered--if you live in Baltimore City, but work in Anne Arundel County, you can only vote at one of the city's six early voting sites. Under state law, the number of early voting sites a county has depends on the number of registered voters. That's why rural counties like Cecil and Carroll counties just have one place to go. Q&A With Congressman Andy Harris Posted: 14 Apr 2016 06:37 AM PDT BERLIN — Congressman Andy Harris has been one of the few Republicans to have a firm hold on his political seat in the traditionally blue state of Maryland for a number of years. Harris was re-elected to his seat representing the first congressional district in Maryland by an overwhelming majority and is confident that he will retain his seat in November. Yet, Harris has campaigned far less than many of his opponents, despite facing criticism on the campaign trail about his voting record on many issues, including a few that pertain specifically to the Eastern Shore. Harris spoke to The Dispatch by phone from his office in Washington DC about what he calls an "interesting" election cycle, the ideological issues facing and in some cases, dividing, Marylanders, and explained how his wife's sudden passing in 2014 changed his views on politics as an occupation. Q: Many people who are running for office this cycle have seemingly been campaigning for years. In recent months, you came out publically and said you were less concerned about campaigning and more concerned about lowering taxes and fighting regulations that strangle our economy. In 2014, you won this seat with almost 70 percent of the vote, leading some political analysts to speculate that you have almost a stranglehold on the first congressional district in the state of Maryland. Are you confident heading into the primary and the general this cycle that you will continue to dominate the first district? A: Well, I think this is, of course, an interesting election year, and I think people want to know whether or not the people they elect are going to be responsive to their needs. I think my record in Congress has shown that I am responsive to the needs of the first district, whether it's dredging in Ocean City, taking care of the poultry industry on the lower shore, or, in general, the regulatory environment to help create jobs throughout Maryland and keep the economy going. Authorities Seize $2.4M, 31 Kilos Of Cocaine In Drug Bust Posted: 14 Apr 2016 06:30 AM PDT Federal, state and multiple local authorities on Monday announced charges against four men in an alleged drug conspiracy involving at least 31 kilograms of cocaine and $2.4 million seized by investigators. The four arrested Friday and officially charged with conspiring to possess cocaine with intent to distribute are Hector M. Hernandez-Villapando, 63, of Hanover; Enixae Hernandez-Barba, 33, of Linthicum Heights; Hector L. Hernandez-Barba, 39, of Las Vegas; and William Frederick Cornish, 52, of Abingdon. Prosecutors say Drug Enforcement Administration agents learned of the alleged drug ring in August, receiving information that a group was trafficking large amounts of cocaine into Maryland and using a warehouse on Golden Ring Road in Baltimore. Investigators found that a business tenant had been evicted by the end of July. They identified Hernandez-Villapando and his sons, Enixae and Hector Hernandez-Barba, as the men using that warehouse until they relocated operations to a warehouse on Hammonds Ferry Road in Linthicum Heights. On April 6, a tractor trailer bearing the logo of the evicted business tenant arrived at the Linthicum Heights warehouse, where investigators saw items being unloaded and a van carrying the sons going around the parking lot and warehouse in an apparent counter-surveillance effort. Ocean City Welcomes Street Sweeping Buses Posted: 14 Apr 2016 06:23 AM PDT OCEAN CITY — Resort officials on Tuesday got their first look at a new high-capacity articulating bus, referred to as street sweepers or vacuum cleaners for their ability to absorb many more riders in a short amount of time then the traditional buses. At Tuesday's Transportation Committee meeting, committee members got a firsthand look at one of Ocean City two new articulating buses, which feature a traditional main bus trailed by a connected second section. Despite drizzly, damp conditions, the committee members got a brief tour of the new bus during the meeting on Tuesday. The 60-foot buses can absorb many more passengers in a short amount of time than the traditional 40-foot buses with a capacity of around 100 passengers. With bus stops backing up during the busy summer season, the hope is the articulating buses will be able to sweep in and scoop up greater numbers of riders in a short amount of time. Mayor Rick Meehan suggested a promotional video be made to illustrate the articulating bus's ability to quickly clear up long wait times at bus stops. "I can envision 100 people at a bus stop and this thing pulls in and sucks them all up," he said. "When the bus pulls away, there is nobody left standing there." More
Early voting, featuring same-day registration, to begin in Maryland Posted: 14 Apr 2016 06:15 AM PDT For the next seven days, Del. Cory McCray, a co-founder of the BEST Democratic Club, is launching an intensive operation. McCray and a team of supporters plan to target the neighborhoods surrounding Baltimore's six early-voting centers, knock on doors, encourage folks to vote and drive them to the polls. This year, early voting in Baltimore and across the state has a new importance: While registration has closed for the April 26 primary election, people can register and vote on the same day during early voting. "We've never had same-day voter registration before," McCray says. "It's a big opportunity." More
Posted: 14 Apr 2016 06:14 AM PDT After seeing the horrendous way those poor animals have been treated. I found out they are Robert and Susan Murphy AND they have been charged previously in Dorchester Co w/animal cruelty. They operate under the name of Rainbow Kennels. Maybe officials might want to check out property they own in Cambridge. It's 2040 Dailsville Rd. This terrible news is getting statewide coverage and I would not be surprised if it went to the national news services. I would be interested in if they have been charged yet. It takes a really disgusting individual to treat defenseless animals this way. Publishers Notes: There have been so many comments coming through asking when these people will be charged. LOOK, I have been publishing one article after another from public officials explaining the process. Here's the deal. This is a very serious matter that is being handled just like a child abuse case. You DO NOT step in immediately and arrest someone without having all your evidence and charges in order. This isn't ONE case, it's 300+! I have been in contact several times a day with key players on this matter and I can assure you they are working as fast as they can. Every single news station have also explained the situation in detail, yet people do not seem to be listening. I'm confident once they are in good health they will be available for adoption and all of us will let the public know they are available. I can guarantee from our readership alone, every one of those dogs are spoken for anyway and I'm sure there's a waiting list. In the mean time, RELAX! The abuse is OVER and these animals are in very good hands. Charges will be filed soon enough.

BREAKING: Shocking News in the Trump Assault Case Posted: 14 Apr 2016 05:53 AM PDT CNN has confirmed that Donald Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, will not be prosecuted for battery: A former reporter for Breitbart, Michelle Fields, sought charges against Lewandowski after an incident in March where she said Lewandowski pulled her away from Trump as she was trying to ask him a question. The Florida State's attorney's office said it will hold news conference at 2 p.m. Thursday to address the matter, according to a statement. The news is a sigh of relief for both Lewandowski and the Trump campaign, which risked facing a major legal distraction during the heat of the competitive presidential campaign. The incident at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate on March 8, the night of the Michigan presidential primary, led to a weeks-long dispute between the Trump campaign, some media outlets and Fields, as to what actually happened. Lewandowski initially denied ever touching or even meeting Fields, and then the campaign accused her of having a history of creating incidents, a spurious claim. But closed circuit footage confirmed Fields version of events, which met the threshold for a simple battery charge. The prosecutor's office, likely looking to avoid a media circus, attempted to broker a deal where Lewandowski would apologize to Fields for his actions. Fields tweeted the following last night: Source: AAN

Posted: 14 Apr 2016 02:00 AM PDT Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging 7 cents just to mail a letter? If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store. When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 25 cents a gallon? Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage. Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for $50,000 a year just to play ball? It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the President. I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric. They're even making electric typewriters now. It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few married women are having to work to make ends meet. It won't be long before young couples are going to have to hire someone to watch their kids so they can both work. I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door to a whole lot of foreign business. Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the Government takes half our income in taxes. I sometimes wonder if we are electing the best people to government. The fast food restaurant is convenient for a quick meal, but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on. There is no sense going on short trips any more for a weekend. It costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay in a hotel. No one can afford to be sick anymore. At $15.00 a day in the hospital, it's too rich for my blood. If they think I'll pay 30 cents for a haircut, forget it.
