Quelle Surprise: Rob Terry confirms he is rebuilding stake in Imaginatik

Posted: 07 Apr 2016 02:54 AM PDT

Oh look - I see my Rob Terry's outfit Quob Park Estate put a statement out last night after the market closed. The statement says his outfit now owns just over 5pc of Imaginatik, effectively confirming my tale from earlier in the week.

Here are links to the statement and my market report piece:

It begs the question - why did Imaginatik release such a strange and mealy mouthed statement in response to the article?

Here is Imaginatik's statement from yesterday:

It reads very similar to the statement the company released to another one of my Betaville stories from last year. Here is the link:

It's all rather peculiar...

Canaccord Genuity wields the axe - part 3

Posted: 06 Apr 2016 11:13 PM PDT

It's tough times for the chaps in pin stripe suits at stockbroker Canaccord Genuity.

According to my mole, the Canadian broker - which is de-listing from the London Stock Exchange - has placed a blanket ban on silver service dining at its smart, wood-panelled dining rooms and restricted client lunches to sandwiches.

I imagine old school City stockbrokers (not that there are many of them left) view such modern day restrictions as abhorrent.

But given the state of the UK stockbroking industry, needs must, I guess. Except that, I'm told, Canaccord Genuity has a rather large "corporate shooting budget" that is somewhat bigger than the catering budget, so it seems odd to restrict client lunches to one sandwich a day.

I put several calls into the company's public relations executive at Teneo to ask whether the company wanted to comment on any of the above. However, so far I have not heard back from Canaccord's PR adviser.

Perhaps, then, Teneo have been given the chop, too?

UPDATE:

A spokesperson for Canaccord Genuity returned my call and said "no comment".
