WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO THE REPUBLICAN VOTERS IN COLORADO Posted: 13 Apr 2016 08:30 PM PDT Many people in and outside of Colorado can't believe the voting debacle which took place in the Republican Party State Assembly this weekend. The first thing you need to understand is we're not living under a Democracy anymore whether it's in the country or within the party which is supposed to be a supporter of Constitutional rights. You'll also have to understand, I've had to weed out a lot of lies and information that has been put forth to peel down to the truth. Back in December, I had decided to really get involved with the Republican party on the local level because there were a lot of rumors of voter fraud and corruption within the party itself. I figured I had nothing to lose since I've been a lifelong Republican and support Conservative ideas. I suspected our vote didn't really count and wanted to verify people's claims as well. So I went to the December meeting of the La Plata County Republican Central Committee and volunteered to be a Precinct Captain. It never occurred to me I wouldn't be able to cast a vote for my presidential candidate, Donald Trump. Who would have thought Colorado GOP State Republican board members would underhandedly take away our right to vote. More |

Victims of Illegal Alien Crime on 'Sham' Colorado Cruz Win: This Is 'Third World Tyranny' Posted: 13 Apr 2016 07:30 PM PDT The American victims who have lost their children to illegal alien crime denounced "voterless victory" in Colorado. The victims who endorsed Donald Trump said that they were appalled by the state GOP's attempt to "silence" the American people. "The arrangement in Colorado is a sham. I can't really call it an election. Ted Cruz is not for Americans," said Cruz constituent Laura Wilkerson. "He is as bought and paid for as Hillary Clinton." "This needs to be a wake up call for Americans," said Texas resident Dan Golvach. "We have been sleep walking into a third world tyranny with the two main parties. This also shows you who Ted Cruz has crawled into bed with politically speaking… He's nothing more than a poster boy for the plutocrats. I have no use for him or the plutocrat media complex that has been pushing these type of candidates on us." More |
Subject: Cruz: Drudge is an attack site for Trump's campaign Posted: 13 Apr 2016 07:00 PM PDT The Drudge Report headlines whatever the Trump campaign is pushing, Ted Cruz said on Monday. The Texas senator was speaking to conservative radio host Mike Slater when he was asked what he thought about the conservative aggregation site, particularly their "anti-Christian headlines." "In about the past month the Drudge Report has basically become the attack site for the Donald Trump campaign. And so every day they have the latest Trump attack. They're directed at me," Cruz said. "By all appearances, Roger Stone now decides what's on Drudge, and most days they have a six-month-old article that is some attack on me, and it's — whatever the Trump campaign is pushing that day will be the banner headline on Drudge." Cruz also lamented the website's lack of primary and caucus coverage. "By the way, they no longer cover news," Cruz said. "When we win a state, suddenly the state doesn't matter. You know Colorado — there was no red siren on Drudge when we won all 34 delegates in Colorado. That wasn't news, because — I mean listen, that's fine. If people want to get on the 'Trump train,' they can." More |
Posted: 13 Apr 2016 06:30 PM PDT Former Colorado state Republican party chairman Ryan Call talked to Laura Ingraham today to explain the delegation-selection process works and how it "cuts out any semblance of democracy or the popular will." Call said the statewide convention that chooses the delegates reinforces all the worst stereotypes of the party. "The very time we should be opening up our doors and being more open and transparent, and welcoming people into our Party, we've essentially made the decision to close it off and make it more cumbersome and more difficult. And, to prevent the ability of people to have their voice heard in this process. You're reinforcing all of the very worst stereotypes about the Party and I, frankly, am very concerned about the way voters are going to feel," Call told Ingraham. Transcript, via Laura Ingraham Show: Ingraham: The August 25th announcement that they would no longer do the presidential preference poll at their caucus, my spidey-senses went up when that happened. Was I correct to, at the time, note that this was a sign that they were not going to be bound by the people of Colorado selecting Trump. If that was a risk, they wanted to cut that off at the pass in August. Am I correct in stating that? Call: That's exactly right. While the caucus votes we've held in previous elections in 2008 and 2012 were always straw polls, they didn't bind or allocate the delegations. They at least were a snapshot into where voter sentiment is in the state of Colorado, and the decision by the state Republican Party to cancel that vote taken in connection with the caucus really did cut out any semblance of democracy or the popular will in connection with the delegate election event. It became an entire party insiders game with getting delegates to go to county assemblies in the state convention. While Colorado has over a million registered Republican voters, the only votes that really counted were that of the 3,900 delegates that gathered down in Colorado Springs. |

Movement to unseat Reince Priebus as RNC emerges after Cruz Colorado “Shenanigans” Posted: 13 Apr 2016 05:30 PM PDT A grassroots movement to unseat RNC chair Reince Priebus is growing in light of the "brokered convention" scandals and his support of the Colorado Delegate Scandal. Priebus has been an ineffective RNC chairperson, presiding over the disastrous 2012 election which Obama won a landslide over Romney, and the Republican Party lost a chance of winning the Senate. Now with the Colorado movement showing Reince's true colors, a facebook and twitter campaign to remove the RNC chair from power has emerged: But why would voters want to rid themselves of Priebus? Here is why many Trump fans hate the RNC head, who appears to be saying one thing, while doing something else: More |
The Pros And Cons Of Globalization Posted: 13 Apr 2016 05:00 PM PDT A story in the Washington Post said "20 years ago globalization was pitched as a strategy that would raise all boats in poor and rich countries alike. In the U.S. and Europe consumers would have their pick of inexpensive items made by people thousands of miles away whose pay was much lower than theirs. And in time trade barriers would drop to support even more multinationals expansion and economic gains while geo political cooperation would flourish." There is no question that globalization has been a good thing for many developing countries who now have access to our markets and can export cheap goods. Globalization has also been good for Multi-national corporations and Wall Street. But globalization has not been good for working people (blue or white collar) and has led to the continuing deindustrialization of America. Globalization is a complicated issue. It is necessary to evaluate the pros and cons before drawing any conclusions. Pros More |

IRS chief: Agency encourages illegal immigrant theft of SSNs to file tax returns Posted: 13 Apr 2016 04:00 PM PDT The IRS is struggling to ensure that illegal immigrants are able to illegally use Social Security numbers for legitimate purposes, the agency's head told senators on Tuesday, without allowing the numbers to be used for "bad" reasons. IRS Commissioner John Koskinen made the statement in response to a question from Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., during a session of the Senate Finance Committee about why the IRS appears to be collaborating with taxpayers who file tax returns using fraudulent information. Coats said that his staff had discovered the practice after looking into agency procedures. "What we learned is that ... the IRS continues to process tax returns with false W-2 information and issue refunds as if they were routine tax returns, and say that's not really our job," Coats said. "We also learned the IRS ignores notifications from the Social Security Administration that a name does not match a Social Security number, and you use your own system to determine whether a number is valid." Subject: Bibles Being Removed From Missing Man Tributes at VA Clinics and Military Bases Posted: 13 Apr 2016 03:30 PM PDT It really takes a special kind of low-life to desecrate a military display honoring prisoners of war and those missing in action. Over the past several months the Military Religious Freedom Foundation has waged a campaign to have Bibles removed from "Missing Man" displays located on federal property. They claim the inclusion of the Bible is a violation of federal law. So far at least three VA medical clinics and one Air Force base have complied with the MRFF's demands to cleanse the displays of the Good Book. I have been reporting on this religious cleansing for the past two years – and now a group of conservative organizations is preparing to fight back against the MRFF. Fox News has exclusively obtained a letter sent to Robert McDonald, secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs – urging him to reinstate the Bible to the Missing Man displays. "The removal of the Bible not only violates the integrity of these displays, but insults those returned POWs who gained daily strength from their faith in the prisons of our enemies," they wrote. "When a governmental agency such as the VA removes any part of the display, it is a grave insult to the nation's veterans who often gather together to honor those who have not returned, while also interfering with the message being expressed." The letter was signed by representatives from Family Research Council, American Family Association, First Liberty Institute, Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, Center for Military Readiness, Freedom Alliance, Liberty Counsel, Alliance Defending Freedom, Freedom X, Judicial Watch, LION Associates, Military-Veterans Advocacy, Stand Up America US and the International Conference of Evangelical Chaplain Endorsers. Secretary McDonald did not return my telephone calls or emails. "There is definitely an all-out assault on the Christian faith within our military today," said Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William Boykin, executive vice president of the Family Research Council and one of the signers. More here |
Grassley Won't Relent on Obama Court Nominee, Despite Breakfast Posted: 13 Apr 2016 03:14 PM PDT The chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chuck Grassley, said he remained firm that President Barack Obama's nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court would not receive a confirmation hearing or a vote, after a breakfast meeting Tuesday that Grassley's office called "pleasant." Grassley, an Iowa Republican, avoided reporters after the hour-long breakfast with federal appeals court judge Merrick Garland, Obama's nominee, by exiting the Senate dining room via a back hallway. His office later issued a statement saying that the meeting was cordial and that Grassley "thanked Judge Garland for his service." Garland offered reporters a smile but no comment as he walked past them after the meeting. Carrie Severino, chief counsel of the Judicial Crisis Network, a conservative legal group, praised Grassley's handling of the nomination in a statement issued after the meeting. More |

Rep. Brat: Syrian Refugees Have NOT Been Vetted for National Security Posted: 13 Apr 2016 02:30 PM PDT (CNSNews.com) -- Rep. Dave Brat (R-Va.) says that "a gaping hole in our national security apparatus" means that Syrian refugees "have not been vetted" before they are resettled in the United States. "Of course the major problem there is that they have not been vetted in terms of national security," Brat told CNSNews.com. "We just want to [send a] message to the American people that the issue has not yet been resolved." "ISIS has made it very clear in their documents that their intent and their goal is to bring radicalized folks from around the world in through the southern border and to use the refugee program to do so," Brat warned. "And so when your enemy tells you what their plan is in writing, it seems that at a minimum we should be vetting folks. "And so we're asking the American people to weigh in to their leaders to make sure that we don't let this go unnoticed," he told CNSNews. More |
Obama Admin Advised Against Calling Iranian Missile Tests Deal 'Violation' Posted: 13 Apr 2016 02:00 PM PDT Obama administration lawyers are advising officials against describing recent Iranian ballistic missile tests as a violation of the United Nations resolution governing the recently implemented nuclear agreement with Iran, according to multiple U.S. officials and sources familiar with the situation who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon. The decision has created friction with Congress and inside the administration itself, with officials and lawmakers citing previous statements from the administration declaring that such missile launches would be considered a violation. That stance was walked back after U.N. Security Council members such as Russia said it does not consider the latest Iranian tests a violation of the resolution. A recent letter signed by U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power called the tests "inconsistent" with the resolution. Congress is now pursuing an inquiry into what lawmakers describe as the Obama administration's efforts to mislead lawmakers about the terms of the nuclear deal. More here |
A Three-Star Marine Corps General Is Running for Congress Posted: 13 Apr 2016 01:30 PM PDT Retired U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Jack Bergman announced Tuesday that he is officially running for Congress in Michigan. Bergman said during the Ron Jolly Show that he was pursuing the Republican nomination in northern Michigan's First Congressional District after securing 2,000 petition signatures to place his name on the August primary ballot. "I felt it was time for me to step up and put some rudder into this ship known as the United States and put it back on course," he told the Detroit News Tuesday. Bergman served as a military aviator, flying as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War, and served as the commanding general of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North. He retired from the service as a three-star lieutenant general. Bergman also worked as a pilot for Northwest Airlines and runs a medical equipment business. In February, Bergman told the Detroit News that he intended to run for the seat as a fiscal conservative "who emphasizes education and using the Constitution as the model for developing "good policies and programs that work." Israel says it gave written consent to Saudi island transfer Posted: 13 Apr 2016 01:00 PM PDT Israel gave written approval to the Egyptian transfer of the Red Sea islands of Sanafir and Tiran to Saudi Arabia, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon revealed Tuesday. His acknowledgement, given in a briefing with reporters Tuesday, hints at growing, though quiet, Israeli-Saudi cooperation in recent years. According to Ya'alon, Israel was told in writing about the island transfer between Cairo and Riyadh, which came as part of a series of cooperation agreements signed last week between Saudi King Salman and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi in Cairo. The Cairo-Riyadh agreements cement the alliance of the two Sunni Arab states in a region undergoing chaotic change and facing the growing sway of Shiite Iran to the east. "An appeal was made to us – and it needed our agreement, the Americans who were involved in the peace agreement and of the MFO," Yaalon said, referring to the Multinational Force and Observers peacekeeping forces at the Israeli-Egyptian border. "We reached an agreement between the four parties – the Saudis, the Egyptians, Israel and the United States – to transfer the responsibility for the islands, on condition that the Saudis fill in the Egyptians' shoes in the military appendix of the (Egypt-Israel) peace agreement." Al Jazeera America Will Go Offline Tuesday Night Posted: 13 Apr 2016 12:30 PM PDT Al Jazeera America will go off the air Tuesday night after a run of less than three years. A Politico report discusses the channel's final evening, which will effectively end at 9 p.m. when its last live broadcast is over. At midnight, the channel will go offline. The network's political correspondent Michael Shure told Politico the staff is "very proud" of the work they did at the New York City-based channel. "It seems sort of celebratory," Shure told Politico. "Everyone is very proud of Al Jazeera, that against the odds of difficulties with management initially, everyone is very proud of the journalism and the product that is on the air. Everyone is smarter after you turn it off." About 700 people will lose their jobs when the network goes dark, reports CNN. Al Jazeera America strived to report the news in a fact-based way without editorializing, and focused on international news for its broadcasts. CNN cites Nielsen figures that say about 20,000 people would watch the network at a normal hour during the day. More |
Sen. Jeff Sessions Pushes To Block Illegal Immigration Via Airports Posted: 13 Apr 2016 12:00 PM PDT Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) is pushing an amendment to a routine airline-regulation bill that would facilitate a computer network to reveal whether tourists, guest-workers and other legal visitors have properly gone home once their visas expire. Congress has mandated the implementation of fraud-resistant computerized "biometric entry-exit system" for more than a decade, but the exit portion of the system is still not operational at any port of exit. Various experts say roughly 40 percent of the 11 million to 13 million illegal immigrants living in the United States arrived legally, but did not depart when their visas expired. In 2015, roughly 500,000 foreigners overstayed their visas, according to federal data. On Monday, Sessions (R-AL), who is the chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, filed an amendment to the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization Act that would push for the development of a biometric entry-exit system at airports in the U.S. According to the Senate Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest, Sessions' amendment would overcome a significant hurdle to implementation of the biometric entry-exit system at the nation's airports: the assistance of the airline industry. Potential airline objections were diminished with a revenue-securing provision included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016. More |
Congress Prepares Puerto Rico Bailout Posted: 13 Apr 2016 11:30 AM PDT Congress is expected to begin consideration of federal legislation to grant Puerto Rico extraordinary powers to escape a looming debt crisis. The island territory, home to just 3 million people, is faced with a massive $70 billion debt burden. During negotiations of the omnibus budget deal at the end of 2015, House Republican Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) promised House Democrat Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) that Congress would consider legislation to grant the Island with bankruptcy protection from its debts. The tentative deadline to begin action was March 31. The House Natural Resources Committee is drafting a rescue package for Puerto Rico. Hearings on the measure will begin this week. The House conservative Republican Study Committee blasted an early draft of the Puerto Rico legislation, calling it a "bankruptcy-style involuntary restructuring." "The discussion draft legislation regarding Puerto Rico's fiscal situation includes provisions that essentially provide for a federally forced restructuring the island's debt," Rep. Bill Flores (R-TX), Chair of the RSC, said in a statement. "This approach is inconsistent with the Republican Study Committee's position on this issue." The island and its supporters in Congress are seeking legislation to grant the territory access to federal bankruptcy courts to unload some of its debt. Currently, Puerto Rico is prohibited from seeking debt relief through bankruptcy. More |
Williams: On Attacking Our Nation's Founders Posted: 13 Apr 2016 11:00 AM PDT During Sen. Bernie Sanders' campaign visit to Liberty University, he told the students that our nation was created on racist principles. Students at a Christian-based university, such as Liberty, do not often hear the founders-as-racists argument. But it is featured at many other universities, as well as primary and secondary schools. Most often, the hate-America teachings are centered on the fact that slavery is a part of our history. What is left untaught is: slavery was a routine part of human history. Blacks were the last people to be enslaved. Plus, our Founding Fathers struggled mightily over the issue of slavery. Let us look at some of that struggle. Read more here |

Delaware Law Enforcement for Special Olympics Announce “Winnie Spence Torch Runner of the Year” Posted: 13 Apr 2016 10:30 AM PDT Delaware Law Enforcement for Special Olympics, "Winnie Spence Torch Runner of the Year," 2016 - Senior Corporal Danielle Martin, Delaware State Police
Most memorable Torch Run and Special Olympics memories: Running into the parking lot of the Bob Carpenter Center before the Summer Games Opening Ceremony and seeing the athletes and their families on the sides of the parking lot. They were cheering us on with such enthusiasm, reaching their hands out for high-fives. I felt so humbled because I felt like we should be the ones cheering for them! This was so awe inspiring, brought tears to my eyes, and really reminded me of the need to continue to stay involved. Being part of the 2014 Final Leg for the USA Games. Running alongside the athletes while carrying the Flame of Hope through New Jersey, interacting with them on a daily basis, getting to hear the stories of their challenges and triumphs, getting to know them and see first-hand how important and life changing Special Olympics has been for them; was such an honor and an unforgettable experience. It was an experience that reinforced my commitment to Special Olympics and the Law Enforcement Torch Run, so that together, we can continue to provide life changing opportunities to those with intellectual disabilities. My favorite Special Olympics memories usually come from when I attend a competition and get the chance to interact with the athletes, cheer them on and award them with their medals. I have several memories that are dear to me, however, if I had to pick one, I would choose one from an Equestrian Event I attended in 2012. I had the opportunity to watch the competition in between the medal presentations. I observed a female athlete finishing her event and beginning to exit the riding ring. She had such a big smile on her face and yelled out to her mother, "Mom, I did it!" She didn't know if she had won the gold or even if she had won at all; she was just so happy and proud of herself that she, "Did it." No doubt, her mother was just as happy and proud! That moment touched my heart and served as a permanent reminder of what the true spirit of Special Olympics is all about. Special Olympics Start: Like many officers, my involvement with the Torch Run began with simply running in the Torch Run in 2005. Also, that same year, I was approached by a fellow shift-mate and asked to assist with the Ad Solicitation Campaign for the Summer Games Program and Year in Review (known then as the Yearbook), and began fundraising for same in the 2004-2005 season. In 2006, I attended my first Regional Conference where I learned more about the Torch Run Movement and how to get more involved. I began attending local competitions and quickly became engaged in the enthusiasm of the athletes when they received their well-deserved medals. As the Delaware Law Enforcement for Special Olympics "Torch Runner of the Year" for 2016, Corporal Danielle Martin will have the distinct honor and privilege to deliver the Flame of Hope to the Special Olympics Delaware "Athlete of the Year", Chris Truono, at the Opening Ceremonies of the SODE Summer Games on Friday afternoon, June 10th at the University of Delaware, on behalf of the entire Delaware Law Enforcement community. Posted: 13 Apr 2016 09:53 AM PDT LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Lawmakers are calling on the White House to declassify more than two dozen pages in the 9/11 Commission report that they say outlines evidence for possible support from the Saudi government for two hijackers who settled in Southern California. A CBS News "60 Minutes" report quoted officials familiar with the 2003 report as saying 28 pages of redacted information raises questions over whether Saudi officials were involved in assisting Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar upon their arrival in Los Angeles in Jan. 2000. Former Democratic congressman and U.S. ambassador to India Tim Roemer told "60 Minutes" the two Saudi nationals found a way to gain access to housing and flight lessons upon their arrival despite "extremely limited language skills and no experience with Western culture." "L.A., San Diego, that's really you know, the hornet's nest," said Roemer. "That's really the one that I continue to think about almost on a daily basis." More |
Subject: Indiana Delegates Getting Hate Mail from Trump Supporters Posted: 13 Apr 2016 09:45 AM PDT After expressing reservations about Donald Trump, some of Indiana's delegates to the Republican national convention say they've received threatening messages from a few of the GOP front-runner's supporters. The emails warn that the delegates are being watched and imply they could be targeted. Some send ominous wishes to delegates' families. Trump's Indiana campaign called the threats "deplorable." Craig Dunn, a delegate and Republican chairman of Indiana's 4th Congressional District, was among the Trump critics who received the threatening messages. "You sorry (expletive)!" one email said. "I hope the worst for you and yours!" Dunn was stunned by the response. "Little did I know that in expressing your 1st Amendment rights, that they'd come after you so hard," he said. "It's very disappointing. I probably received 25 to 30 hate emails, phone calls and voice mails, posts on Facebook that I deleted. Now they're hunting down friends of mine and posting that kind of stuff on their Facebook pages." He was one of 27 delegates selected this weekend from Indiana's nine congressional districts to represent the state at the Republican national convention this summer in Cleveland. Another 27 at-large delegates will be selected Wednesday. Three additional spots go to the state party chairman and the state's Republican National Committee man and woman. At-large delegates are obligated to vote for the winner of Indiana's May 3 primary during the first round of voting at the national convention July 18-21. District delegates must vote for the top vote-getter in their district. But if no candidate has a majority of delegates during the first ballot at the convention, then the delegates are free to cast their votes for anyone they choose. More |
City of Alexandria Sued for Concealing Election Records Posted: 13 Apr 2016 09:37 AM PDT Voter rolls have more registrants than city has residents of voting age The city of Alexandria, Va., is being sued in federal court for concealing election records after it was discovered more people are registered to vote in the city than are of voting age. The Public Interest Legal Foundation, an Indiana-based election integrity group, brought the lawsuit forward on behalf of the Virginia Voters Alliance, Inc., a group dedicated to improving election laws, and David Norcross, a registered voter in Alexandria who is also a member of the Virginia group. Alexandria has for years maintained voter rolls that contain more registrants who can vote than the total number of citizens of voting age within the city, according to the group. The Virginia voting group sought to inspect the city's election records by invoking the National Voter Registration Act, which requires agencies to allow a physical inspection of election records relating to voter registration and list maintenance programs. The group contends that Leider made no effort to use data available to the city's circuit court clerk to remove ineligible registrants from voting rolls. The data was obtained from jury excusal forms, which contains information on residents who self-identify as non-citizens or non-residents of the city of Alexandria. The data also identifies potentially-obsolete mailing addresses. Unlike Alexandria, other counties in Virginia have utilized circuit court clerk data to perform list maintenance and remove ineligible registrants, the group said. More here |
North Carolina Softens Anti-Transgender Law Posted: 13 Apr 2016 09:30 AM PDT North Carolina moved Tuesday to curtail a law targeting gay and transgender people, but stopped short of ending limits to public bathroom access following a growing backlash from companies and celebrities. In an executive order, Republican Governor Pat McCrory said he had "expanded" the southeastern US state's equal employment opportunity policy to include sexual orientation and gender identification. He also vowed to seek legislation restoring the right to sue for discrimination in North Carolina. But McCrory left intact the bill's most high profile and controversial provision -- which requires transgender people to only use public restrooms that correspond with the gender on their birth certificates. "It maintains common sense gender-specific restroom and locker room facilities in government buildings and in our schools, and when possible, encourages reasonable accommodations for families and those who have unique or special circumstances," he said in a video message. The governor defended the state law, which he signed last month, as necessary for responding to the "government overreach" of an ordinance in the state's largest city of Charlotte that expanded legal protections for transgender people. "The private sector can make its own policy with regard to restrooms, locker rooms and/or shower facilities. This is not a government decision. This is your decision in the private sector," McCrory said. But that had not been in doubt since the law's most controversial component dealt with public facilities, allowing the private sector to make its own decisions. More |
A Viewer Writes: A Story For The Community Today! Posted: 13 Apr 2016 09:23 AM PDT Joe, Here is a story that is news worthy and affects many of us in this community! The Company has spent more time sending messages to our members giving them "bargaining facts" than they spend at the bargaining table. The Company's "bargaining facts" emailed today to our members stated the Company had been contacted by Federal Mediation and agreed they were willing to mediate if the Unions extended the strike deadline. CWA responded with a press release stating "CWA did not authorize anyone at the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service to approach Verizon about extending the strike date. Either the FMCS acted without authorization or Verizon executive vice president Marc Reed is lying." Our guess is little Mark is lying again! Clearly Reed's goal is to mislead the public and our members regarding all the facts. A recent news article where Reed was quoted stated that out of the last 4 bargaining cycles the union leadership took the workers out on strike 50% of the time. Those of us that were here for the last 4 bargaining cycles remember it a little differently. We saw under Verizon CEO's leadership, including Marc Reed, our members were forced to strike for a fair contract 100% of the time in the last 2 contracts. Enough of the bullshit, scare tactics and lies! With less than 12 hours to go it is becoming clear this company is not taking us seriously. The clock is ticking. At 6AM tomorrow morning this company will find out just how serious we really are. We have communicated a lot of information in these bargaining reports over the past 10 months. Tonight we want to make clear what the major issues are causing our members to take to the picket lines and withhold our labor from the greedy corporation Verizon. So here is why we are going on strike. 1). WAGES: The company offered increases of 6.5%. When you factor in the rising cost of all the other monetary items the company proposes changing, it is not an "increase", but a step backwards. Union wage increases are negotiated once real commitments from the company are made on all of the issues affecting our members. 2). JOB SECURITY- CWA supported Bell Atlantic's merger with GTE. Job security language in 2003 was the cost for CWA's support. Now Verizon seeks to eliminate that job security language unless we agree to allow forced temporary transfers of employees to other states, close rural call centers forcing employees to move or commute excessive distances or quit and force employees to travel up to 50 miles more before compensating employees. 3). PENSIONS – The Company has proposed to cap pension accruals at 30 years. They also propose to lock in the life expectancy portion of the pension cash out calculation potentially costing members the 3% annual pension band increase proposed. Our members deserve pensions that will provide reliable retirement security. 4). CALL SHARING - The company contracts over 5,000 employees in the Philippines, Mexico, Dominican Republic and elsewhere. Contractors handle over a million calls originating in the Mid- Atlantic States and the company wants an agreement to lower the percentage of calls it commits to its own employees. They are also proposing call routing that will get the call to a contractor quicker. This is all designed to eliminate call center jobs. This agreement is also a job security issue for all call center employees. It is vital that the Union prevail in securing call center work. 5). HEALTHCARE – The Company seeks significant increases in healthcare contributions while diminishing plan coverage. They want us to pay more for less coverage. 6). RETIREE MEDICAL - The company proposes continuing your healthcare but they want your costs to be increased at the same pace of active employees, even though you don't earn a paycheck, overtime or benefit from wage increases. 7). FORCED OVERTIME ASSIGNMENTS – The company has manipulated overtime in our bargaining units because they are understaffed. The Company has mismanaged out of town projects and overtime to a point where they have exhausted the existing workforce. The company has abused employees by assigning overtime almost daily and then canceling the assignment, sometimes just minutes before the overtime is scheduled to start. This practiced has caused our members to pay for daycare when it was not necessary, to miss family events and impacted quality of life issues. It is disgraceful for this Company to demand our members and retirees sacrifice years of negotiated benefits while they sit back with fat salaries and bonuses. We will not stand by and let this Company continue to destroy good middle class jobs. The clock is ticking and time is running out. Whether wired or wireless, none of this network works without us. Once again, as of 6AM Wednesday, April 13, 2016 the CWA Executive Board authorized a strike against Verizon, Verizon Wireless and Verizon Connected Solutions. If you are at work, you need to immediately get up and leave. As of 6AM, we are on strike. |
Nance: ‘The Real War on Women Is Happening Around the World by Islamic Fascists’ Posted: 13 Apr 2016 09:23 AM PDT President of Concerned Women for America Penny Nance warns Breitbart News Daily, "we are at a tipping point in this nation," and says "conservative women are sick of being left out of the conversation." Nance, author of Feisty and Feminine: A Rallying Cry for Conservative Women, told host Alex Marlow her book is a opportunity for conservative women to "find their voice and protect future generations of Americans." "Hillary Clinton isn't that popular with women, so much so that Madeleine Albright had to threaten us with hell to get woman to support Hillary Clinton in the primaries. I mean, it's just ridiculous," she said, noting Clinton's very high unfavorables. Nance also pointed out that Islam oppresses women far worse than the myth of the wage gap in First World nations. "I take this up specifically in my book and talk about the real war on women," she said. "The real war on women is happening around the world by Islamic fascists who are raping and abusing and selling children in slave markets, child brides, female genital mutilation, on and on and on. And when we use the term 'war on women' so cavalier and in such a fake way, we really diminish what's happening to them." "The Left defines the war on women as the fact that the Little Sisters of the Poor don't want to pay for Sandra Fluke's birth control… " More here |
Mikulski: Women ‘Pay More For Everything’ Posted: 13 Apr 2016 09:15 AM PDT Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) says women "pay more for everything." "For we women, it costs more to be a woman. We pay more for everything," Mikulski said during a rally for the Paycheck Fairness Act. "We continue to have to fight the battle of more expensive, medical care, child care, even dry cleaning. They charge us more to do our blouses than guy's shirts. We women are tired of being taken to the cleaners. Pass Paycheck Fairness," Mikulski said. More here |

A pilot aborted a plane's take-off so a couple could say goodbye to their dying grandson Posted: 13 Apr 2016 06:45 AM PDT A pilot who turned back a plane preparing to take off at Manchester Airport so a couple could say goodbye to their dying grandson has been praised as "truly amazing". Becky Stephenson, a travel agent from Bradford, said two of her customers were preparing to set off for Australia via Abu Dhabi when they received the news that the boy was seriously ill. She told The Independent that they had already boarded the Etihad Airways flight and were switching off their mobile phone when they noticed a missed call from their son-in-law. "They were taxiing on the runway when they got the text message saying their grandson was in intensive care and they needed to get there," Mrs Stephenson said. "They passed the message to the crew, who spoke to the captain and he turned the plane back." The pilot returned the aircraft to the boarding gate while staff arranged to get the couple's baggage and assist them back through the airport and collect their car so they could drive straight home. Farmers Get Biggest US Subsidy Check in Decade as Prices Drop Posted: 13 Apr 2016 06:30 AM PDT The agriculture slump is getting so bad in the U.S. that farmers are about to get more government aid than at any time in the past decade, signaling the rising public cost of crop surpluses and cheap food. About $13.9 billion of net farm income this year will be federal payments, or about 25 percent of total profit estimated at $54.8 billion, according to estimates by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. That's the biggest payout and highest ratio since 2006, as programs authorized by Congress two years ago cost more than originally forecast. Farmers will earn less than half what they did just three years ago, before global surpluses sent commodity prices plunging. Corn and soybeans, the biggest U.S. crops, are so cheap that farmers are expecting to lose money on every acre they plant this season. That's putting a bigger strain on government safety nets for agriculture. More |
Petition: Springsteen Cancelling Concert is Like Bakers Refusing to Make Gay Wedding Cakes Posted: 13 Apr 2016 06:23 AM PDT A new petition on Change.org is defending rocker Bruce Springsteen and his decision to cancel a concert in North Carolina due to a controversial new law. The petition is the work of Dennis Burgard, a 51 year-old real estate broker and investor from Jacksonville, NC. It argues that Springsteen refusing business with North Carolina is no different than bakers refusing gay wedding clients based on deeply held religious convictions. "Springsteen acted in the exact manner a baker did in refusing to bake a cake due to deeply held personal beliefs, yet they were fined and he is celebrated," Burgard told CNSNews. On April 8, Springsteen posted a message on his Facebook page explaining why he had cancelled the show April 10 due to HB2, a North Carolina law that requires people to use the bathroom that assigned with their biological gender. Critics have decried the law as anti-transgender. More here |
Paul Ryan: GOP Pushing “Prom King” For President Posted: 13 Apr 2016 06:15 AM PDT … AND NIKKI HALEY WILL BE HIS QUEEN This website emphatically opposed the ascension of Paul Ryan to the Speaker's chair of the U.S. House of Representatives last fall (read why here). Unfortunately, "conservatives" in the U.S. House caved … and Ryan, the hand-picked choice of the "Republican" establishment, got the job anyway. The results? Sadly predictable … especially regarding the handling of your hard-earned money (see here and here). Bottom line? Ryan is a tool of the status quo … which is why the Washington, D.C. power brokers bankrupting our country are now pushing him as a "compromise" candidate for president of the United States. You know, because "the will of the people is crap." And the establishment apparently has a death wish for the future of its party. More |
ACLU loses case to force Catholic hospital to perform abortions Posted: 13 Apr 2016 06:07 AM PDT DETROIT, – A Michigan judge has thrown out the ACLU's lawsuit attempting to force a nationwide chain of Catholic hospitals to perform abortions. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Southern Division dismissed the case, saying the liberal legal organization lacks standing to sue. The ACLU filed suit against Trinity Health Corporation, which operates 86 health care facilities in 21 states nationwide, last October because Trinity – a Catholic institution – abides by the U.S. Bishops' Ethical and Religious Directives (ERDs), which bar physicians from taking unborn human life. Europe Is Abolishing Itself Through Mass Immigration: Ellen Sauerbrey Posted: 13 Apr 2016 06:00 AM PDT YUP…Will our leaders wake up before it is too late for the U.S. too? We are watching a clash of civilizations. A British media outlet recently conducted a survey of Muslims in Great Britain and found that significant percentages hold positions that are contradictory to Western values. For example: · 20% refuse to enter a non-Muslim home. · 31% support polygamy. · 52% of Muslims would make homosexuality illegal. · 23% support Sharia law over laws passed by the British parliament. · 8% of British Muslims sympathized with suicide bombings and other acts of terrorism …ers Swiss Magazine: Europe Is Abolishing Itself Through Mass Immigration Europe is abolishing itself and "it is an illusion" to think the continent can cope with the recent wave of mass migration, the editor of a Swiss magazine has warned. In an editorial in Die Weltwoche, Roger Köppel argues that the terrorist attacks in France and Brussels are "acute symptoms" of Europe's ill-conceived immigration policies and "just a taste" of things to come. Many of the observations by the Swiss People's Party (SVP) MP will shock liberals, as Köppel condemns the mass movement of people entering Europe "under the guise of asylum" as "shock therapy" and "a human experiment" on European societies by politicians with no mandate. He also points out that attempts by European countries to integrate Muslim populations have failed and cautions that the more "refugees" Europe accepts the more likely terrorist attacks on the continent become. Köppel warns that terrorists hide among the people arriving in Greece and Italy to seek asylum, echoing Europol's warning in February that as many as 5,000 Islamic State-trained jihadis could have entered the continent in this way. The editorial outlines Islam as a danger to European nations cautioning that, as an ideology, this religion is "particularly at risk of being abused by death-seeking fanatics and madmen." Köppel's warning is in stark contrast to comments by European Commission Vice-President Federica Mogherini — who last year raised eyebrows upon declaring in a speechthat "Islam belongs in Europe. It holds a place in Europe's history, in our culture, in our food and – what matters most – in Europe's present and future." Köppel posits that the vast majority of migrants are from areas where "tribal feuds and vendettas" are commonplace and where "Medieval concepts of male honour" are lived with "holy, even fatal zeal." Due to this he is pessimistic about their prospects of successfully integrating to European society, believing it likely they will instead import their "pre modern notions of politics, law, women and religion" becoming "hordes of malcontents" whose disaffection with life in Europe will be in danger of becoming explosive. Köppel's prognosis for the outcome of the European political establishment's "refugees welcome" attitude is antithetical to that of Ms Mogherini who, in the wake of the terrorist attacks that last month rocked Brussels stated that "It is not diversity that is destroying our society but the fear of diversity." |
10 Signs That A Puppy Is From a Puppy Mill Posted: 13 Apr 2016 05:30 AM PDT So you are looking for a puppy, maybe you're a first time dog owner. You have heard about puppy mills and know they are bad. But what you don't know is how to make sure you don't accidentally buy from one. Here are 10 signs to help you determine if the puppy you are looking at is from a puppy mill or not. #1 – Out-of-State You really should just stay away from pet stores when buying a puppy. Be especially worried if those puppies are coming from out-of-state, particularly Midwest states (Missouri and Illinois are two of the biggest). #2 – No Parents If the breeder cannot let you meet the parents, you should walk away. Not meeting the parents is like buying a car without knowing the make. Don't do it. For all you know, these people did not even breed the puppy, but are selling him secondhand for unknown reasons. #3 – Let's Meet If you call a breeder and they say "let's meet somewhere" when you ask to visit their kennel, it's a puppy mill. Usually they will try to get you to meet in a store parking lot or a park. Unless there are extreme circumstances, there is no reason why should not see where your puppy was born. #4 – Several Breeds Reputable breeders focus on one breed, maybe two, MAX. If you find a site offering five different breeds (and their mixes!), it's a puppy mill. #5 – Multiple Litters When you call the breeder and ask if they have puppies, do they respond with "I have one litter coming, but there is already a waiting list" or "oh yes, I have 3 litters on the ground and 2 more on the way"? If the breeder has 30 puppies, that is definitely a puppy mill. #6 – Vaccinations Puppy mills don't like to spend money, it deters from profits. So the parents may not be vaccinated (you should ask!) and the puppies probably are not. Or, conversely, they have so many puppies they lost track and your pup got vaccinated twice. #7 – Extreme Promises Dr. Kathryn Primm DVM, owner and chief veterinarian of Applebrook Animal Hospital, says to be wary about the breeder promising a certain size, temperament, or characteristic that seems extreme. For example, a dog came into her clinic that was supposed to be a Pomeranian and Husky mix that the breeder had promised would never grow lover than 7 pounds. She was 42 pounds. #8 – Cleanliness This goes for the dog and the breeder's home or kennel. Dr. Primm says puppies from puppy mills are more likely to smell like a kennel and have poor coat quality. #9 – Contract Your breeder should care enough about what happens to the puppy that she has a contract protecting both you and her. Reputable breeders have a spay/neuter agreement, breed papers, health contract, and a request that you return the dog to them if it doesn't work out (rather than dumping him at the shelter). #10 – Too Young Another way they can cut their costs is by giving you the puppy early, because they do not have to feed them, give them shots, etc. Question any breeder wanting to give you the puppy before they are eight weeks old. This is the minimum age you should be taking a puppy from their mother and litter-mates. Source |

How To Prepare Your Teen To Succeed In A Complex World Posted: 13 Apr 2016 01:00 AM PDT When a bright, happy preteen evolves into a self-absorbed or anxious teenager, apprehensive parents can't help but wonder, "What's wrong with my child?" The answer could be "nothing," other than the typical struggles adolescents have always faced, says Jeffrey Leiken, author of "Adolescence is Not a Disease: Beyond Drinking, Drugs and Dangerous Friends – The Journey to Adulthood" (www.Leiken.com). As CEO of Evolution Mentoring International, Leiken provides mentoring for teens and young adults, going beyond the typical work of a therapist by building a relationship so that they come to see Leiken as a trusted confidant who answers their late-night text messages and isn't quick to label them. "I don't start with the premise that there is something wrong with them that needs to be fixed," Leiken says. "The teens and young adults I work with often are saner than the system they are in – a system that seems to forget we are raising humans, not building robots." Parents sometimes get caught up in that system, too, but in many cases they just need to chill, he says. Leiken says parents who want to prepare teenagers for the day they will venture out on their own should: • "Great advice, wrong source" – Enlist the aid of other adults. Parents are puzzled when they give excellent advice that their teenager promptly ignores. But adolescents often discard words of wisdom from their parents that they would embrace if the guidance came from someone else. That's why it's important to enlist the help of other adults who can offer coaching, training and guidance to the teen. • Avoid letting fear be the guide. Too many parents are on edge, worried that if their teen isn't in the top 1 percent of the high school class, they will be denied hope for economic prosperity, status and independence. Their anxieties can rub off on young people who become hesitant to take risks for fear of endangering their future. Instead of scaring them, parents need to encourage teens to step outside their comfort zones and take risks that will help them grow into confident, well-rounded adults. • Help teens eliminate choices. One popular bit of advice parents hear is they should encourage teenagers to keep all their options open. That sounds like a good strategy, but isn't. In reality, parents need to encourage teens to eliminate options – such as for colleges or careers – that aren't and never will be right for them. The teens' decision-making abilities will increase as a result. "Parents also need to realize they don't have to become experts in raising teenagers," Leiken says. "They just have to become expert in raising their own teenager." About Jeffrey Leiken Jeffery Leiken (www.Leiken.com) is the CEO of Evolution Mentoring International and is co-founder of HeroPath International. Leiken also is author of "Adolescence is Not a Disease: Beyond Drinking, Drugs and Dangerous Friends – The Journey to Adulthood." He has presented at TED in Athens, Greece; guest lectured at Stanford University; and facilitated programs for teenagers on three continents and in seven countries, among other accomplishments. He has a master's degree in educational counseling. |

Posted: 12 Apr 2016 11:00 PM PDT Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al: We have stuck together since the late 1950's for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way. Here is our separation agreement: --Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes. --We don't like "spreading the wealth," so we'll keep ours and you can spread yours all you want. --We don't like redistributive taxes, so you can keep them. --Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA, and the military. --We'll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and the coal mines, and you can go with wind, solar and bio diesel. --We'll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. --You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, home boys, hippies, druggies and illegal aliens. --You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. --We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values. --We'll keep "under God" in our Pledge of Allegiance, and we'll keep "In God we trust" on our money. --You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. But we will no longer be paying the bill. --We'll keep our Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood. --You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. --You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them. --We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. --You can make nice with Iran and Palestine, and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. --You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security. --We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Volt and Leaf you can find. --We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "The National Anthem." --I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute "Imagine," "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing," "Kum Ba Ya," or "We Are the World". --We'll practice trickle-down economics, and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot. --Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name, and our flag. Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots, and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you might think about which one of us will need whose help in 15 years. Sincerely, John J. Wall Law Student and an American |
