Another day, another HNA deal... Posted: 15 Apr 2016 04:22 AM PDT The Chinese travel conglomerate really does have a voracious appetite for deals involving any European travel-related companies. Earlier this week, HNA unveiled a $1.5 billion takeover of Switzerland's airline catering company Gate Gourmet. That deal comes after HNA purchased baggage handler Swissport last year for £2.3 billion. Kleinman, meanwhile, of Sky News reported earlier this week that HNA has hired bankers at NM Rothschild to work on a takeover of Monarch Airlines, which is being sold by Greybull. Here is the link: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/06a3207e-e901-11e4-87fe-00144feab7de.html#axzz45muzqyZJ HNA also tried very hard to purchase London City Airport from Global Infrastructure Partners (as first revealed on little old Betaville) for over £2 billion but lost out in the final hour to a mega consortium of infrastructure funds. And to cap it all, today HNA announced a takeover of International Currency Exchange, a foreign exchange business, for an undisclosed sum. What next? Hotelbeds out of Tui AG? |
