Did Feds Commit Felony By Altering 302s In The Michael Flynn Case? Posted: 05 May 2020 09:00 PM PDT The U.S. Code makes it a felony offense, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, to knowingly alter or falsify an entry in a document with the intent to influence a federal investigation. This is comparatively a more serious offense than the false statement charge that Michael Flynn pled to, which carries a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison. Newly revealed text messages between federal agents Paige and Strzok discussing the Michael Flynn case, dating February 10, 2017, show the cheaters discussing rewriting a 302 written by another agent, trying to disguise their edits as the author's own voice. According to insinuations made by Flynn's lawyers in hearings and court filings, statements made by Sidney Powell to the media, and pursuant to a review of the publicly available materials related to this case, the documents that the federal agents were discussing altering were almost certainly 302 reports. "An objective view of SSA 1's purported handwritten notes with the FD-302 of the January 24, 2017 interview of Mr. Flynn that Lisa Page instructed Agent Strzok to edit on February 10, 2017, reveals equally troubling 'inaccuracies,' 'omissions,' and 'unsupported statements,'" wrote Flynn's lawyers in their Motion to Dismiss for Egregious Government Misconduct. "Overnight February 10-11, 2017, Strzok makes multiple changes to the FBI 302 of that interview—changes that are objectively material to the defense," Flynn's lawyers later explained in a supplemental filing. House GOP Opens Probe Into Chinese Communist Party Using Money to Infiltrate US Colleges Posted: 05 May 2020 08:30 PM PDT Multiple House Republican ranking members have signed onto a letter addressed to Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos to ask for their "preliminary findings or reports" from their investigations into American higher education institutions taking foreign money, specifically from China. The letter, which was obtained by Townhall, is part of Congressional Republican's investigation into the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda and cover-up efforts of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Signers include Reps. Jim Jordan (OH), Devin Nunes (CA), Virginia Foxx (NC), Mike Rogers (AL), and Marc Thornberry (TX). Citing consistent Chinese efforts to steal "confidential information and technology from U.S. companies, and even the U.S. government" through their investments in American colleges, the members wrote how "China is restricting any research regarding the origins of COVID-19 that does not comport with CCP propaganda. They added their concern about the Chinese government using "strategic investments to turn American college campuses into indoctrination platforms for American students" through their "110 'Confucius Institutes' on college campuses as well as over 500 'Confucius Classrooms.'" "These actions all bring into question whether U.S. IHEs receiving federal taxpayer dollars should be allowed to accept funds from China, the CCP, or other affiliated organizations. The interests of the two nations appear to have diverged," they wrote. The Department of Education has open multiple investigations into colleges who may have improperly reported or failed to report altogether foreign gifts of $250,000 or more, in violation of Section 117 of the Higher Education Act of 1965: More |
Posted: 05 May 2020 08:00 PM PDT A Florida sheriff who admitted to killing a man when he was 14 years old in self defense was partying up a storm in tight boxer briefs alongside his topless wife at swinger parties in Miami, photos seen by DailyMail.com reveal. Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony was handpicked by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to lead the agency in early 2019 after it was accused of bungling the emergency response to the Parkland high school shooting in 2018. Tony was photographed posing happily in various unsheriff-like situations, showing off his toned physique with his equally in-shape wife Holly, a registered nurse. The series of 11 snapshots of couple-swapping parties in Miami are accessible to the general public on a website that 'organizes erotic events' and shows the 41-year-old hugging his wife from behind with his hands cupping her bare breasts. Another photo shows the lawman laughing while lying down as Holly places her face on one side of his muscular chest and an unidentified man places his face on the other side. In yet another picture, the husband and wife are in a foursome, posing with another couple. Both women are topless but their nipples are covered with pasties. More |

The Pseudo-Science Behind The Mysterious Assault On Hydroxychloroquine Posted: 05 May 2020 07:00 PM PDT This is a research article published as information for health care professionals and public officials, and for an open peer review. It is not medical advice. I reviewed the scientific literature on hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), azithromycin (AZ), and their use for COVID-19. My conclusions: HCQ-based treatments are effective in treating COVID-19, unless started too late. Studies, cited in opposition, have been misinterpreted, invalid, or worse. HCQ and AZ are some of the most tested and safest prescription drugs. Severe COVID-19 frequently causes cardiac effects, including heart arrhythmia. QTc prolonging drugs might amplify this tendency. Millions of people regularly take drugs having strong QTc prolongation effect, and neither FDA nor CDC bother to warn them. HCQ+AZ combination, probably has a mild QTc prolongation effect. Concerns over its negative effects, however minor, can be addressed by respecting contra-indications. Effectiveness of HCQ-based treatment for COVID-19 is hampered by conditions that are presented as precautions, delaying the onset of treatment. For examples, some states require that COVID-19 patients be treated with HCQ exclusively in hospital settings. The COVID-19 Treatment Panel of NIH evaded disclosure of the massive financial links of its members to Gilead Sciences, the manufacturer of a competing drug remdesivir. Among those who failed to disclose such links are 2 out of 3 of its co-chairs. Despite all the attempts by certain authorities to prevent COVID-19 treatment with HCQ and HCQ+AZ, both components are approved by FDA, and doctors can prescribe them for COVID-19. Intro Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) was accepted as a COVID-19 treatment by the medical community in the US and worldwide by early April. 67% of the US physicians said they would prescribe HCQ or chloroquine CQ for COVID-19 to a family member (Town Hall, 2020-04-08). An international poll of doctors rated HCQ the most effective coronavirus treatment (NY Post, 2020-04-02). On April 6, Peter Navarro told CNN that "Virtually Every COVID-19 Patient In New York Is Given Hydroxychloroquine." This might explain decrease in COVID-19 deaths in the New York state after April 15. The time lag is because COVID-19 deaths happen on average 14 days after showing symptoms. But on April 21, several perfectly coordinated events took place, attacking HCQ's use for COVID-19 patients. The COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel of the National Institute of Health issued recommendations with negative-ambivalent stance regarding the use of HCQ as a COVID-19 treatment. This surprising stance was taken contrary to the ample evidence of the efficacy and safety of HCQ and despite absence evidence of its harm. The panel also strongly recommended against the use of hydroxychloroquine with azithromycin (AZ), the combination of choice among practitioners. On the same day, a paper (Magagnoli, 2020) was posted on a pre-print server medRxiv, insinuating that HCQ is not only ineffective, but even harmful. This not-yet peer reviewed paper, by unqualified authors with conflicts of interest, received wall-to-wall media coverage, as it if were a cancer cure. It used data from Veterans Administration hospitals, spicing its effects. The paper has shown to be somewhere between junk science and fraud. Rick Bright, a government official who was probably more responsible for the low level of preparedness to the epidemic than most others, and had been re-assigned to a lower position earlier, emerged as a "whistleblower." He claimed he had been demoted for opposing hydroxychloroquine, the claim to be soon debunked by documents bearing his signature. The media also gave him a wall-to-wall coverage. |

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hospitalized with infection, court announces Posted: 05 May 2020 06:37 PM PDT Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hospitalized with an infection caused by a gallstone, the court announced Tuesday, adding that she's expected to remain in the hospital for a "day or two." Ginsburg, 87, underwent non-surgical treatment for acute cholecystitis, a benign gallbladder condition, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore on Tuesday. The justice had undergone outpatient tests at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., Monday following oral arguments with the court, which confirmed that she had a gallstone blocking her cystic duct, resulting in an infection. "The justice is resting comfortably and plans to participate in the oral argument teleconference tomorrow morning remotely from the hospital," the Supreme Court said in a statement. Trump Administration "Turbocharging" Efforts To Grapple Global Supply Chains From China Posted: 05 May 2020 06:30 PM PDT President Trump's trade war is back. It's an election year, and the efforts by the administration to 'turbocharge' an initiative todeglobalize that world by removing critical supply chains from China could be seen with new rounds of tariffs to strike Beijing for its handling of the COVID-19 outbreak, US officials told Reuters. It's clear that coronavirus lockdowns have resulted in a crashed economy with more than 30 million people unemployed have derailed President Trump's normal campaigning process and the promises of a vibrant economy. This could suggest President Trump is about to unleash tariff hell on Beijing as it would do two things: First, it would pressure US companies with supply chains in China to exit, and second, the president can say the tariffs are a punishment for the more than 68,000 Americans that have died from the virus. "We've been working on [reducing the reliance of our supply chains in China] over the last few years but we are now turbocharging that initiative," Keith Krach, undersecretary for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment at the U.S. State Department told Reuters. "I think it is essential to understand where the critical areas are and where critical bottlenecks exist," Krach said, adding that the matter was key to U.S. security and one the government could announce new action on soon. Current and former officials said the Commerce Department and other federal agencies are investigating ways to push US companies away from sourcing and manufacturing in China. "Tax incentives and potential re-shoring subsidies are among measures being considered to spur changes," they said. "There is a whole of government push on this," said one. Agencies are prob More |

K–12: Ten Lies Teachers Tell You Posted: 05 May 2020 03:30 PM PDT Hopefully, no one will forget our debt to Rudolf Flesch. He was a great man with a great mind. Almost forty years ago, Flesch published Why Johnny STILL Can't Read, wherein he continued his crusade against Whole Word (AKA Whole Language, Sight-Words, and other aliases). In this book, Flesch attacked the Education Establishment and its counterfeit merchandise in a unique way. He pointed out that all the things the professors assert most loudly and proudly are nothing but alibis — a polite way of saying lies. Has there ever been a field, in all of human history, that could be best defined by its alibis and lies? And not just a few of them. There are ten big ones. Identifying and illuminating them are where Flesch's genius shone. Our Education Establishment, in its dedication to falsity, is almost superhuman. After all these years, these people are still pushing the same inferior theories and methods. Their gimmicks are disproven by almost all research and experience. These faux reading experts can do nothing but build a case on lies. The Education Establishment tells these lies because its partisans know that the public wants desperately to believe they are true. The educrats are happy to let you have your illusions, as these are the intellectual basis for their dumbing down of America. More |
These Historians Challenge New York Times' Dubious 1619 Project Posted: 05 May 2020 03:00 PM PDT What makes America exceptional? Undoubtedly, most Americans would say our long-term commitment to self-government and the rule of law, and our extraordinary embrace of liberty. Not so, according to The New York Times' 1619 Project—named for the year in which African slaves were first brought to the English colonies in North America. The various New York Times authors apparently believe America's unique quality is slavery. The 1619 Project defines itself as an effort to "reframe" America's history to define the nation's "true founding" as one rooted—at its heart—in slavery rather than liberty. More |

Amid COVID-19, Illinois Seeks Bailout of Fiscal Crisis ‘Decades in Making’ Posted: 05 May 2020 02:30 PM PDT Those who would be most harmed by a $40 billion federal bailout of the state of Illinois are the people of Illinois, a Republican state senator says, because such an aid package would reward and reinforce irresponsible behavior by the state's politicians. "The people of Illinois are hurting," state Sen. Jason Plummer, a Republican who represents Illinois' 54th District, told The Daily Signal in a phone interview. "We have high sales taxes, high income taxes. People are being forced to leave the state, and now they want to bail out politicians' mismanagement." Plummer stressed that the financial mismanagement in the state long preceded the economic hit that Illinois and every other state have taken from the COVID-19 pandemic that shut down the economy, resulting in plummeting tax revenues. WHERE IS THE #1 BEACH RESORT TO VACATION IN THE UNITED STATES TODAY, 5-5-20? Posted: 05 May 2020 03:02 PM PDT Worcester County, Ocean City Maryland, that's where! While the quarantine actually worked and the positive rate and death rate is the lowest in the United States of America for a beach resort, I know, let's go out and tell everyone we're ready to open the beach and boardwalk. Keep in mind, Ladies & Gentlemen, we may have numbers that are a hell of a lot higher BUT we'd never know because the deaths and positive tests very likely were credited to other states like NY, NJ, PA, VA & DE and NOT Maryland. Hence my multiple posts on out of state tags. So if you're a parent who just can't take it anymore, kids driving you nuts and you just have to get out of the house/town, Ocean City is by far the safest place to bring the Family. That is, until the area is bombarded with tourons bringing the virus here in droves. Oh yeah, when you get here there won't be a restaurant, hotel/motel, restroom, or rides, just a beach loaded with people retaliating against our Governor's orders! Remember, Hogan has NOT lifted his order to shelter. "Ocean City, Maryland Mayor Rick Meehan said when the beach and boardwalk opens this Saturday, police will not be enforcing the town's local-only mandate." Mayor Meehan has made a vital mistake and ALL of the news and information I'm getting on this reopening is coming from Baltimore news sources. I'm starting to think the bars being closed for so long is really getting to the Mayor's mental state of mind. |
DOJ Sides With Chincoteague Church Suing Dem VA Gov. Northam Posted: 05 May 2020 02:00 PM PDT On Sunday, the Department of Justice took the side of a Virginia church that is suing Virginia Democrat Governor Ralph Northam because police threatened the church's pastor with jail time or a substantial fine for holding a service on Palm Sunday that was attended by a mere 16 people. On April 5, police served Kevin Wilson, the pastor of Lighthouse Fellowship Church on Chincoteague Island, a summons, despite the fact that the 16 people in attendance at the church that holds 293 people were observing social distancing guidelines. "State officials said Wilson and the church violated the Virginia Constitution by breaking state-imposed social distancing restrictions intended to stop the spread of the coronavirus," Fox News reported. Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel, representing the pastor, accused Northam of discriminating against the church and violating the First Amendment. More |
Left-Wing Group Using Taxpayer Funded Software To Take Down Trump Posted: 05 May 2020 01:30 PM PDT A new left-wing political action committee advised by retired Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal is reportedly planning to use software that was developed to be used against Islamic terrorists, and was developed using taxpayer money, to combat positive messaging about President Donald Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic in an apparent attempt to upend Trump's chances at winning re-election. "The group, Defeat Disinfo, will use artificial intelligence and network analysis to map discussion of the president's claims on social media," The Washington Post reported. "It will seek to intervene by identifying the most popular counter-narratives and boosting them through a network of more than 3.4 million influencers across the country — in some cases paying users with large followings to take sides against the president." However, a review of Defeat Disinfo's website shows that it promotes blatant disinformation against the president, like claiming that Trump "told us to inject disinfectants into our bodies," a claim that has been debunked. BREAKING NEWS: Delaware Governor Lifts Ban On Some Businesses Starting Friday, See The List Posted: 05 May 2020 01:24 PM PDT Governor John Carney on Tuesday announced a series of interim steps allowing small businesses to resume limited operations effective 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8. The goal of the interim steps is to provide economic relief to Delaware citizens and businesses who are struggling financially – while maintaining strict adherence to health and safety guidelines. The steps also will help as Delawareans and Delaware businesses adapt to new ways of operating once Phase 1 begins. Also on Tuesday, Governor Carney and the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) announced a plan to test all residents and staff of Delaware long-term care facilities for COVID-19. DPH will provide facilities with tests, testing supplies, training, and support for the universal testing program to protect the most vulnerable Delawareans. Expanding COVID-19 testing capacity for vulnerable populations is a requirement of federal guidance for economic reopening. Public health experts at the Division of Public Health (DPH) will support clinicians at long-term care facilities with the new testing program. DPH will provide guidance on testing of symptomatic and asymptomatic persons and the interpretation of results. DPH will also provide recommendations to protect residents and staff based on results, including transmission-based precautions, isolation, and patient and staff management strategies. "I understand how hard this has been for Delawareans across our state. We've tried to find ways to ease the pain without compromising public health," said Governor Carney. "But even these limited steps allowing businesses to offer additional services will require strict compliance with safety standards, especially social distancing. We cannot afford to go backwards and see new cases and hospitalizations spike. Getting used to a new normal won't be easy, but this is the first step to being able to reopen our economy." "Residents of long-term care facilities are extremely vulnerable to complications from the virus that causes COVID-19 due to chronic health conditions," said Dr. Karyl Rattay, Director of the Delaware Division of Public Health. "We are incredibly pleased to be able to support this testing strategy which will enable us to help the facilities better identify outbreaks among both staff and residents and contain the spread of the disease through a variety of interventions. It is an important component in our rapidly expanding testing strategy." Below are the interim steps the Governor announced are effective at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8:

Baltimore’s oldest girls Catholic school, Institute of Notre Dame, announces closing Posted: 05 May 2020 01:19 PM PDT Maryland's oldest Catholic college preparatory school for girls, an institution that remained in the city of Baltimore from the time it was founded, announced Tuesday it is closing its doors. The Institute of Notre Dame, whose graduates have included House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski, will close June 30 in the midst of a pandemic that prevents anyone spending time inside the building during the school's last days. "We had hoped to have a different outcome and have been trying valiantly the last several years to build a sustainable future," leaders wrote in an email to the IND community on Tuesday. They cited declining enrollment, financial difficulties and a need to raise millions of dollars with at least $5 million in building repairs as some of the reasons for the closure. "It has recently become clear that there is no way forward — in spite of the tireless efforts of the Sisters, the Board of Trustees and the school's leadership team," said Charmaine Krohe, the leader of the School Sisters of Notre Dame of Atlantic-Midwest Province, and Patricia Murphy, the chair of the board of trustees. NYC City Council Speaker Demands ‘Bigoted’ Christian Relief Organization Leave City Posted: 05 May 2020 01:00 PM PDT New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson attacked Samaritan's Purse, a Christian relief organization operating an "overflow" hospital for coronavirus patients who do not need intensive care, calling the group "bigoted" because it believes in the traditional definition of marriage, and demanding that the group be booted from New York City now that the coronavirus pandemic seems to be slowing. Samaritan's Purse, led by Rev. Franklin Graham, set up a field hospital in Central Park last month, pledging to assist New York hospitals overwhelmed by COVID-19 patients. The 60-bed assistance center, The Daily Wire reported at the time, was designed to provide care to those individuals who did not need ventilators or to spend time in respiratory ICUs. LGBT activists and progressive New Yorkers immediately raised an alarm and demanded to know whether Samaritan's Purse, which opposes abortion and same-sex marriage, would turn away openly gay patients. NYC blog Gothamist worried that there were "growing fears that some New Yorkers could face discrimination and substandard care from the religious organization." The furor became so aggressive that NYC mayor Bill de Blasio pledged to keep an eye on Samaritan's Purse, and even made the organization sign an agreement assuring the city that no LGBT individuals would be turned away. It does not appear that Samaritan's Purse turned away any patient requesting treatment, but Johnson demanded the "discriminatory" organization be banished from NYC as soon as possible, regardless. Posted: 05 May 2020 01:18 PM PDT If you carefully read the documents put out today, the Mayor stated that we are still to abide by Governor Hogan's orders, shelter in place. What I find so interesting with these BS orders is, most people are not following his order but more importantly Hogan and Law Enforcement are NOT enforcing these orders. Hence all of the out of state tags in our area. Even as far as Wicomico County, Sheriff Lewis stated they will NOT pull people over and cite anyone for violating these orders unless you are in an accident and even then they probably won't. Then the Mayor does an interview in Baltimore and announces the beach and boardwalk will be open. Now what do you think people will do from the Baltimore area? The Mayor did not flat out state you cannot come here according to the Governors orders. So we can easily expect to be overwhelmed from this point forward. Keep in mind, the Mayor also did NOT state the hotels/motels will not be open. So now I want to know, will the public restrooms be open? I can flat out tell you that IF they are, it is the worst place a human can be during this pandemic. The germs and virus will be at its highest level. However, IF they don't open the restrooms, where the hell will people relieve themselves? Finally, each and every one of you need to remember what happened here on St. Patrick's Day weekend. The tourons wiped out every single grocery store and we haven't been able to restock since. That's a FACT. So you better get everything you may need for the next week or more because people with condos will wipe everyone out. Good Luck! |
Coronavirus pandemic likely to last two years, report says Posted: 05 May 2020 12:30 PM PDT The coronavirus pandemic is likely to last as long as two years and won't be controlled until about two-thirds of the world's population is immune, a group of experts said in a report. Because of its ability to spread from people who don't appear to be ill, the virus may be harder to control than influenza, the cause of most pandemics in recent history, according to the report from the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota. People may actually be at their most infectious before symptoms appear, according to the report. After locking down billions of people around the world to minimize its spread through countries, governments are now cautiously allowing businesses and public places to re-open. Yet the coronavirus pandemic is likely to continue in waves that could last beyond 2022, the authors said. "Risk communication messaging from government officials should incorporate the concept that this pandemic will not be over soon," they said, "and that people need to be prepared for possible periodic resurgences of disease over the next two years." State Police Arrest Four Suspects Involved In Wicomico Co. Murder Posted: 05 May 2020 12:03 PM PDT (SALISBURY, MD) – Maryland State Police arrested four suspects in connection to the murder of a 33-year old Wicomico County man last month. The victim, Dondre Wilson, 33, of Salisbury was pronounced deceased at the scene shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2020. The autopsy report received from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner indicates the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death as homicide. The accused are identified as Dimarise Deshields, 22, of Salisbury, Pierre Copes, Jr., 23, of Salisbury, Jaron Purnell, 19, of Delmar, and Torrey Brittingham, 21, of Salisbury. After consultation with the Wicomico County State's Attorney, each of the four suspects has been charged. Deshields, Brittingham, Copes, and Purnell are each charged with first and second degree murder, along with several other criminal charges. All four men are being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center. Booking photos are not available through the Maryland State Police at this time. Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on April 17, 2020, officers from the Salisbury Police Department responded to 9-1-1 calls reporting shots fired in an apartment complex in the 1,000 block of Adams Avenue in Salisbury. Responding officers found the victim, later identified as Wilson, inside a Hyundai Sonata that appeared to have crashed into a parked car before coming to rest in a wooded area a short distance from the roadway. EMS personnel on the scene pronounced Wilson deceased at the scene. The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit lead the investigation. Investigators interviewed witnesses and residents in the area throughout the night. Crime scene technicians from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division processed the scene for evidence. Assistance was provided by officers and investigators from the Salisbury Police Department and the Office of the Wicomico County State's Attorney. Throughout the investigation, police determined evidence indicated the four men were involved in the shooting of Dondre Wilson. Information was developed through statements from witnesses at the scene, forensics, video surveillance, and evidence recovered from search warrants which lead State Police investigators to the identification of the suspects involved. The Maryland State Apprehension Team arrested Brittingham, Purnell and Copes in Maryland on Thursday, April 23, 2020 without incident. On Monday, May 4, 2020, Deshields was arrested at a residence in Laurel, Delaware. The investigation is continuing. Additional charges are possible against all four suspects. |
Troopers Charge Seaford Man for 7th Offense DUI After Domestic Incident Posted: 05 May 2020 12:00 PM PDT Seaford - The Delaware State Police have arrested 54-year-old Bretley W. Knox after he was involved in a physical domestic with his girlfriend and found to be under the influence of alcohol. On May 3, 2020, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to the 6000 block of Woodland Ferry Road Seaford, for a report of a physical domestic. Upon arrival, Troopers learned from witnesses that Knox was observed driving a dark in color pickup truck all over the roadway on Woodland Ferry Road, and almost struck a ditch. Knox was then seen pulling into a driveway, when a female passenger was heard screaming for help. Knox proceeded to pull the female out of the vehicle and began striking her. The female was able to get away and walk to a nearby residence. The 39-year-old female was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries. Knox re-entered the vehicle and proceeded to drive off. Troopers located Knox a short time later at his residence in the 28000 block of Roxbury Court, Seaford, when a strong odor of alcohol was detected. Knox initially refused to exit the residence and was subsequently taken into custody without further incident. He was transported back to Troop 5 where a DUI investigation ensued and a computer inquiry revealed that Knox had 6 previous DUI convictions. Knox was charged with the following: 7th Offense DUI (Felony) Resisting Arrest Offensive Touching Disorderly Conduct Knox was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $26200.00 on cash only bond. |
May 9th Opening Inclusions and Exclusions In Ocean City Posted: 05 May 2020 11:57 AM PDT Beach, Boardwalk, and Inlet Parking are OpenMany outlets have been reporting on the early reversal of some of Ocean City's restrictions, but questions about the new Declaration have come up. Below we have the New Declaration from the Mayor's office of Ocean City. It does state the new date for the beach, boardwalk, and inlet parking to open. The accompanying notification also says it does not supersede any Executive Orders from Governor Hogan. We asked for additional clarity to help understand the new guidelines. We did reach out to the Town for further clarity to help everyone navigate through the new orders. The following items should be advised:
Here is the notification sent out from the Town of Ocean City: Mayor Opens Beach, Boardwalk & Inlet Parking Lot on May 9Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan announced Monday that he intends to lift the Mayoral Declaration on May 9, allowing the opening of the beach, Boardwalk & Inlet Parking Lot. This is a way to give individuals more opportunities to get outside, exercise and enjoy fresh air, while still adhering to physical distancing guidelines and gathering limits. This does not supersede any Executive Order made by the Governor, including the closure of non-essential businesses. Maryland's Stay-At-Home order remains in effect. |
Secluded Chesapeake Bay island keeps eye on virus from afar Posted: 05 May 2020 11:30 AM PDT "It's sort of like we've been in a safe haven" NORFOLK, Va. — Inez Pruitt has watched the coronavirus spread throughout the world from the relative safety of Tangier Island, a small fishing community in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. But the virus is now as close it can get without crossing the water, infecting people on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Maryland. "I feel like if we got COVID, it would be devastating," said Pruitt, a physician assistant who operates the island's health clinic. "In my head it has a very high potential of happening. I just hope to God it doesn't." More https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/coronavirus-virginia-island-chesapeake-bay-pandemic |

‘7th Floor Involved’: Peter Strzok Kept Flynn Case Open for FBI Brass Posted: 05 May 2020 09:45 AM PDT Former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent Peter Strzok kept the investigation of incoming National Security Advisor Gen. Michael Flynn (Ret.) open because the "7th floor" — senior leadership — wanted it so. A set of text messages released this week as part of a batch of potentially exculpatory documents from the FBI shows Strzok telling a colleague not to close the investigation into Flynn for alleged violation of the Logan Act of 1799 — a law preventing private citizens from conducting diplomacy, which is rarely enforced. The FBI had drafted a memorandum on Jan. 4, 2017 to close the investigation — but Flynn texted a colleague to keep it open. When asked why — "What's up?" — Strzok replied tersely: "7th floor involved." Strzok's colleague replied: "I heard that might be the case yesterday." The next day, Jan. 5, then-FBI Director James Comey met with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and other officials in the Oval Office to discuss the investigation into Russia, and Comey's plans to brief President-elect Trump about the salacious contents of the (false) "Steele dosser." Comey did so the next day, Jan. 6., at Trump Tower in Manhattan. The dossier was subsequently leaked to the media and first published by Buzzfeed on Jan. 10. More |

Wisconsin: 52 of 400,000 In-Person Primary Voters Diagnosed with Coronavirus, No Fatalities Posted: 05 May 2020 09:15 AM PDT Fifty-two out of 400,000 in-person voters and poll workers who participated in Wisconsin's controversial primary have since tested positive for the novel coronavirus, and Wisconsin officials are not certain that those individuals — none of whom have died — contracted the virus at polling stations on Election Day. Wisconsin proceeded in holding its in-person election in early April, despite attempts from Gov. Tony Evers (D) to postpone the vote. The Republican legislature challenged his order, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court allowed the election to proceed as planned. Democrats warned that an in-person election would jeopardize the health of Wisconsin residents. However, out of the hundreds of thousands of residents who headed to the polls in Wisconsin on April 7, only a few dozen people — including poll workers — have since contracted the coronavirus. Additionally, "several" of the individuals who appeared at the polls April 7 and have since tested positive "also reported other ways they may have been exposed to the virus," the Wisconsin Department of Health Services indicated this week. Bankrupt Cities And States Get The National Disaster They've Been Hoping For Posted: 05 May 2020 06:53 AM PDT The people running states like New Jersey and cities like Chicago know they're broke. Ridiculously generous public employee pensions – concocted by elected officials and union leaders who had to have understood that they were writing checks their taxpayers couldn't cover – are bleeding them dry, with no political solution in sight. They also know that they have only two possible outs: bankruptcy, or some form of federal bailout. Since the former means a disgraceful end to local political careers while the latter requires some kind of massive crisis to push Washington into a place where a multi-trillion dollar state/city bailout is the least bad option, it's safe to assume that mayors and governors – along with public sector union leaders – have been hoping for such a crisis to save their bacon. And this year they got their wish. The country is on lockdown, unemployment is skyrocketing and mayors and governors now have a plausible way to rebrand their criminal mismanagement as a "natural disaster" deserving of outside help. Here, for instance, is an estimate of how high unemployment will spike for various states. Note that overall it's brutal, but the distribution isn't what you might expect: More |
The 1918 Flu Epidemic on the Eastern Shore by Angela Rieck Posted: 05 May 2020 06:45 AM PDT The 1918 "Spanish" influenza (ironically most scientists believe it started in the United States) is the most famous pandemic in America. While we are living through our own pandemic, it is interesting to learn how our predecessors fared in the 1918 and 1919 influenza outbreak. The 1918 virus differed from the current virus COVID 19. The 1918 virus was an influenza and was especially lethal for those between the ages of 10 and 30. Death from the 1918 flu came rapidly, usually within a week, some victims died the same day. Within three days, pneumonia often followed and without antibiotics and ventilators, it proved fatal in 25% of the cases. Those exposed to the spring 1918 influenza were immune to the deadly fall influenza. Scientists still do not understand why the 1918 disproportionately impacted the young since most flu viruses' prey on the very young and very old. There are two theories. One is that the flu produced a dangerously strong immune response called cytokine storm causing a lethal overreaction. Other scientists believe that the older generation had been exposed to other flus, thus building antibodies. Conversely, the COVID 19 virus is fatal to those with weakened immune systems and those over 60. To learn how the 1918 pandemic impacted the Eastern Shore I researched newspaper articles, thesis papers, Public Health Statistics, the Internet and books on the 1918 Flu Epidemic. While I was fortunate enough to find local papers from 1918 and 1919 stored in the Library of Congress, none were from Talbot or Kent county. (The Star Democrat is missing digitized versions from those years.) However, there are similarities among the counties. Overall, I was struck by how little was reported. There were few news stories; most not on the front page. Articles were devoted to the war effort, shortages, crime and local news. The first onslaught of this flu in the Spring of 1918 was virtually ignored, and for good reason, there were no influenza deaths in that Spring in either Kent or Talbot Counties, and only 5 reported cases. There were two minor stories about a soldier's flu, both on page 2. "If your friend or your relative or your best beloved has a runny cold, don't kiss him or don't kiss her and don't kiss them. They may have the "Spanish Flu." Bacteriological investigation of the cases which have gotten into this country seem to indicate that there is nothing new or mysterious about this malady. Some of the cases are of what we would call grippe, some of common colds. The only serious thing about it, according to the New York Commissioner of Health, is its tendency to a resultant complication of pneumonia." Chinese Media: U.S. Must Listen to ‘Civilized World’ and Stop Questioning Communist Party Posted: 05 May 2020 06:37 AM PDT The official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the People's Daily, disparaged on Sunday the growing number of lawsuits against China for its mishandling of what became the Chinese coronavirus pandemic as a "political farce" and a "shame for human civilization." The People's Daily focused on lawsuits in the United States, specifically those that legal authorities have filed in states like Missouri and Mississippi, despite the fact that multiple nations – including Nigeria, Egypt, and Italy – are entertaining similar legal action against the Chinese communist regime for failing to properly address the outbreak when it began in Wuhan, a city of 11 million in the heart of the country. The state lawsuits may soon be aided by Congressional legislation carving out an exception to China's sovereign immunity in U.S. courts. More |
Posted: 05 May 2020 06:30 AM PDT ANNAPOLIS, MD – House Republicans today sent a letter to Governor Hogan requesting he veto a package of bills that will massively increase state spending and raise taxes on Marylanders. They asked the Governor to veto: House Bill 1300 – Blueprint for Maryland's Future – Implementation, known better as the "Kirwan Bill", this legislation increases state and local spending on education by $4 billion per year. House Bill 732 - Taxation – Tobacco Tax, Sales and Use Tax, and Digital Advertising Gross Revenues Tax increases taxes on a variety of tobacco products. The bill is the first in the nation to tax digital advertising; a likely violation of federal law. House Bill 932 – 21st Century Economic Fairness Act expands sales tax to digital products; music, movies, e-books, audio books, etc. costing Maryland's taxpayers $120 million per year. "With the economic toll the COVID-19 pandemic is having on our economy, this is the worst possible time to be increasing spending and increasing taxes," said House Minority Leader Nic Kipke. "Maryland is facing a potential budge shortfall of nearly $3 billion by the end of this fiscal year. We cannot afford this level of spending and Marylanders cannot afford higher taxes." "The members of our Caucus were opposed to these bills during the 2020 Legislative Session," said House Minority Whip Kathy Szeliga. "We knew then these bills were ill-advised at their conception. Now they are also abysmally timed." The letter is available here. |
"Ordinary Americans Are Going To Get Super-Pissed..." Posted: 05 May 2020 06:23 AM PDT Spring is popping now with a ferocious energy that can only remind the sullenly sequestered masses that life is going on without them. Every living thing is busy making-and-doing out there, except the poor humans, idled without work or purpose. That won't last long. People don't submit automatically to zombification when some pissant bureaucrats issue them $1200 checks. They yearn to bust out like everything else on this living planet. And if they can't do it in a good way, well…. The mega-machine we constructed to drive this society has sucked a valve and thrown a rod. The machine is broken, no matter how much more fuel the mechanics pump in. (One suspects somebody may have topped it off with Karo syrup.) Anyway, the machine got too big and too complex, with too many extraneous bells and whistles, and with way too much computerized cybernetic control built-in, so the mechanics barely noticed it was coming apart (they were too busy partying). That big machine is smoldering in a ditch for the moment. The dazed and bloodied passengers realize that the ride is over, and now they must march on to get somewhere, anywhere, away from this miserable ditch and the wreckage in it. The fine spring weather is their only consolation. And so here we are at a fraught moment in the convergent crises of corona virus and the foundering economic system that it infected, with all its frightful pre-existing conditions. Of course, it isn't capitalism, so-called, that is failing, but the perversions of capitalism, starting with the appendage of the troublesome term: ism. It isn't a religion, or even a pseudo-religion like Zoroastrianism or communism. It's simply the management system for surplus wealth. In a hyper-complex society, the management of wealth naturally grows hyper-complex, too, with lavish opportunities and temptations for chicanery, cheating, fraud, and swindling (the perversions of capital). It's in the interest of the managers to cloak all that hyper-complex perversity in opaque language, to make it seem okay. How many ordinary Americans have a clue what all the Municipal Liquidity Facilities, Primary Dealer Credit Facilities, Primary and Secondary Market Corporate Credit Facilities, Money Market Mutual Fund Liquidity Facilities, Main Street New Loan Facilities and Expanded Loan Facilities, Commercial Paper Funding Facilities currency swap lines, the TALFs TARPs, PPPs, SPVs represent - besides the movement, by keystrokes, of "money" from one netherworld to another (both conveniently located on Wall Street), usually to the loss of non-elite citizens generally and to their offspring's offspring's offspring? If ‘Congress Shall Make No Law…’ Why Can Governors? Posted: 05 May 2020 06:09 AM PDT The First Amendment states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." That's unambiguous. Not "pretty unambiguous," just unambiguous. Full stop. Yet governors across the country are ignoring or suspending almost every one of those rights enumerated at the top of the Bill of Rights, with little to no pushback from the press, which just happens to be the only part of the first two amendments not under assault. It's actually not under assault -- it's gone -- suspended indefinitely in the name of "the common good." Governors have declared coronavirus emergencies and wiped clean the rights our nation was founded for the purpose of putting those rights beyond the reach of government. These suspensions were not done by vote; they were done with the stroke of a pen. Constitutionally, they can't be done by either. There is no provision of the Constitution allowing for the waiving of rights under any condition, but most legislatures are content to sit back and watch this all proceed without their fingerprints anywhere near it. Governors made a point of canceling Easter services, even at drive-in churches set up in parking lots. "You're not allowed to leave your home," they declared. The irony of placing innocent Americans under house arrest while releasing prisoners in the name of "compassion" was lost on journalists too busy expressing indignation that people might want to worship even in the face of a pandemic. 'Lockdown Larry' Hogan Flat-Out Lied About Weekend Protests in Maryland Posted: 05 May 2020 06:07 AM PDT The governor of Maryland said on Sunday that a Saturday cross-state vehicle protest organized by "ReOpen Maryland" included only a few dozen protestors, a number, he said, that was eclipsed by the number of deaths from the Wuhan coronavirus in the state that day. In reality, the protest he alluded to included several hundred vehicles at the origin point in Frederick, Maryland and gained hundreds of others along the route to Salisbury on the state's eastern shore. Hogan, speaking to CNN's Jake Tapper on Sunday morning, dismissed protest organizer ReOpen Maryland's efforts to end the lockdown saying that "a couple of dozen people" expressing their right to protest had "every right" to do so but their insignificant participation didn't represent the state. "Sadly, we had far more people die yesterday in Maryland than we had protesters," Gov. Hogan continued solemnly. Maryland reported 30 new deaths from the day attributed to COVID-19, according to The Washington Post, as well as a state-wide decline in COVID-related hospitalizations. ReOpen Maryland has more than 23,000 members on their Facebook page as of Monday morning. More |
Homeschooling Popularity Spikes Posted: 05 May 2020 06:00 AM PDT A poll released April 21 by a school choice advocacy nonprofit found that since the coronavirus outbreak has caused many brick-and-mortar school closures, 52 percent of parents have a more favorable opinion of homeschooling. EdChoice, a national organization that advocates for state-based school choice programs, joined with technology company Morning Consult to survey American K-12 parents on the topic of how the coronavirus crisis has affected them and their children, particularly regarding education: The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting all of our lives in unique ways, especially when it comes to education. We wondered how our experiences are stacking up to the rest of America. Here's what our latest poll found: https://t.co/TV28cgZ47W — EdChoice (@edchoice) April 21, 2020 Because many more American parents are engaged in at-home schooling with their children, the survey asked, "How have your opinions on homeschooling changed as a result of the coronavirus?" Among parents participating in the poll, 52 percent said their view of homeschooling was "more favorable," with 28 percent labeling their opinion as "much more favorable," and 24 percent stating their view was "somewhat more favorable." Meehan said, "this is step one" toward opening Ocean City. Meehan added he worked with Gov. Larry Hogan on this latest executive order. "Individual decisions will be an important part of this process. ... Let's concentrate on everyone who is doing it right," said Meehan. "I think we are far ahead of where people thought we would be 60 days ago ... I believe the next declaration will be the removal of restrictions on lodging that is set by declaration to be removed May 22. Let's see where the governor goes with regard to his stay at home order, ... but that (the lodging restriction) is still in place to be repealed on May 22 at this time." Surveillance plane starts flying over Baltimore, recording everyone's movements Posted: 05 May 2020 04:30 AM PDT BALTIMORE — The controversial aerial surveillance planes for Baltimore police started flying Friday, recording movements of everyone in the city during the day. This is the second life of this program in Baltimore. It first operated in secret in 2016 under then-Commissioner Kevin Davis. Now, it's more public, but the debate remains the same: Is it an invasion of privacy or an effective crime-fighting tool? You can't really see it, but the privately funded surveillance plane is flying. It's called the Aerial Investigation Research (AIR) Pilot Program, and it's operated by an Ohio-based company and is paid for by a Texas billionaire. Police Commissioner Michael Harrison told the 11 News I-Team Friday afternoon that he's keeping expectations in check. "I don't have an expectation, and I am going into this with an open mind and let the data speak for itself. And rather than have an opinion or an expectation, I don't want to get my hopes up or anybody's hopes up. But let's look at this as an experiment," Harrison said. More/Video |
Posted: 05 May 2020 04:00 AM PDT Nancy Pelosi is not interested with finding the origins of the Wuhan virus that is decimating the US economy and has killed 60,000 elderly and sickly Americans. Instead, Pelosi wants to spend her resources on another hoax investigation of President Donald Trump. The woman is pure evil. Via Breitbart.com. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) told Breitbart News this weekend that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would rather investigate President Donald Trump again than focus on the actual origins of the Chinese coronavirus and U.S. tax dollars that went to the Wuhan Institute of Virology from which intelligence officials increasingly believe the virus leaked. Appearing on Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel, Reschenthaler discussed his efforts to investigate tax dollars that flowed through a New York firm to the Wuhan lab. He said that Pelosi and House Democrats are not interested in holding the Chinese Communist Party accountable and, instead, want to focus their oversight efforts on politically harming President Trump again just like they tried and failed with the partisan impeachment last year and earlier this year. Posted: 05 May 2020 03:00 AM PDT Jeff Sessions was sworn in on February 9, 2017 as the 87th Attorney General of the United States. Less than a month later on March 2, 2017, AG Jeff Sessions recused himself from all of the bogus Russian investigations. Sessions betrayed President Trump and betrayed the nation and opened up the country to over two years of a criminal and corrupt witch hunt of the 45th President of the United States. Jeff Sessions should have resigned as Attorney General but instead allowed the president, his family, his campaign, his Transition Team, innocent men and women and the nation to be steamrolled for over two years by a criminal cabal. Last week newly released documents revealed the FBI and DOJ operatives set up and framed General Michael Flynn. More |
