Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:00 PM PST Pat Caddell spoke withBreitbart News Daily host Alex Marlow on Monday, saying, "The opportunities are high" for the incoming Trump administration. Citing a nation still divided after a long political campaign season, Caddell went on to discuss the current state of the Democratic Party. Caddell, a longtime Democrat, called it "a party hollowed out" and unable "to reach out beyond identity politics." They "keep falling back on the same mantras," he said. "The losses at the state level are devastating because that's where you develop candidates for Congress," he added. Caddell concluded, "What's missing is a positive vision of restoring my party to what it once was, truly the party of the common man, as opposed to a party of … bi-coastal elites" that relies on "divisive identity politics to win." Did anxiety from heroin push these 2 people to their deaths? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 07:30 PM PST DOVER, Del. (AP) — Brandon Jones and Chelsea Porter had been on the run from Delaware police for a week when they heard a knock on the motel room door in Elkton, Maryland, where they were holed up. It was mid-morning Oct. 25, and Maryland State Police had arrived to serve Brandon with a Delaware warrant for his arrest on drugs, weapons and terroristic threatening charges. Brandon pulled back the curtain to see who had knocked, but before he snatched it closed officers saw him reach for a weapon. The troopers backed off. But within seconds a phalanx of officers had long rifles trained on Brandon's and Chelsea's room, which was fronted by an outside walkway that spans the length of the building. As officers called for the couple to peacefully surrender, 25-year-old Brandon scratched out a letter on a sheet of notebook paper to family members, lamenting his decisions in life and that he never got a chance to meet his potential. Then he stuffed a BB gun into his waistband and went out onto the walkway, where officers had a clear shot. More
Recount request, lawsuit add uncertainty in North Carolina governor's race Posted: 25 Nov 2016 07:00 PM PST RALEIGH, N.C. – North Carolina's still-undecided governor's race could be drawn out further by a lawsuit that contends the state can't finish counting votes until it verifies the residency of thousands who used same-day registration. A lawsuit filed Monday by the conservative-leaning Civitas Institute asks a federal court to require that the state Board of Elections refrain from certifying election results until it has finished verifying same-day registrants. It argues verification can't properly be finished until December. The lawsuit revives a key argument from previous litigation over voter-access measures. A federal appeals court restored same-day registration earlier this year when it struck down parts of a wide-ranging elections law passed by the state's GOP-controlled legislature. Also on Tuesday, Republican Gov. Pat McCrory began the process of asking for a recount even though votes are still being counted statewide. More
Second School-Based Wellness Center Opens In Wicomico Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:30 PM PST SALISBURY – The Wicomico County Board of Education has partnered with the public school system and the health department to establish a wellness center at Wicomico High School. The center, which opened late last week, provides students access to health care and mental health counseling, according to the health department's Program Manager Tracey Age. "Hopefully, one of the goals is to connect them with a primary care physician and teach them healthy lifestyle behaviors that will benefit them as adults," she said. The center, funded through a grant from the Maryland Community Health Resources Commission (MCHRC), will allow students the opportunity to meet with nurse practitioners and social workers to assess their physical and mental needs. The #AnywhereButTARGET campaign is also meant to provide alternative retailers for conservatives. 2ndVote Executive Director Lance Wray issued a statement saying this campaign will "send a clear and direct message to Target," which Wray describes as a company "that seems to care more about a radical political agenda than common sense and safety of its own customers." Pair Planned to Shoot Cops, Start Race War Posted: 25 Nov 2016 04:00 PM PST A convicted felon who claims he wanted to shoot cops is behind bars in connection with the explosives device planted outside of a Trussville elementary school. Authorities today announced state charges against 35-year-old Zachary Edwards and 34-year-old Raphel Dilligard, both of eastern Birmingham. They are charged with possession of a hoax destructive device, rendering false alarm and making terrorist threats, said Trussville police Capt. Jeff Bridges. The warrants were issued this morning after the week-long probe by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Trussville police, the Alabama State Fire Marshal's Office, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Edwards claimed to be a member of the Black Panthers and the Black Mafia, but authorities have not yet confirmed his reported associations with any organized group. "My guys believe this individual to be a very dangerous person,'' said Dave Hyche, ATF's assistant special agent in charge in Alabama. Once brought in for questioning, both gave confessions. Edwards admitted to planting the device, and said his plan was to get all police officers and first responders in one place so he could shoot them. "I guess he doesn't like cops,'' Bridges said. China Engaged in Multi-Year Takeover Attempt of Senkaku Islands Posted: 25 Nov 2016 03:00 PM PST Tokyo spy agency warns Beijing also bolstering forces for military control of oil shipping routes TOKYO — China is escalating a campaign of military maritime coercion against Japan's Senkaku Islands, according to Japanese intelligence data disclosed as part of a joint Pentagon-Japan research program. Additionally, China is doubling the size of its coast guard forces over the next five years to prevent the disruption of oil supplies that travel from the Middle East through the Indian Ocean and South China Sea, according to Pentagon-sponsored reports about the joint U.S.-Japan collaboration. Two reports produced by a contractor for the Pentagon's Office of Net Assessment, a secretive research group, provide a rare glimpse of Japanese intelligence assessments of Chinese military activities in the East China Sea and South China Sea. In addition to adding large numbers of new coast guard and navy ships to its fleets in Southeast Asia, China is building military facilities on newly created islands in the South China Sea. It will eventually militarize the East China Sea using floating oil rig platforms, according to analyses provided by Japan's Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office, known as CIRO. According to CIRO, China has greatly increased unilateral oil and gas development near the line separating Chinese and Japanese waters near the Senkakus. More

Soros-Funded Group Pushing ‘Sanctuary Campus’ Anti-Trump Protests Posted: 25 Nov 2016 02:00 PM PST An organization that has received funding from liberal billionaire George Soros is pushing anti-Donald Trump student protests that call for sanctuary campuses to protect undocumented students. Thousands of students at more than 80 college campuses have participated in "sanctuary campus" protests, CBS News reported. Students have signed petitions and walked out of classes at their universities "in support of undocumented classmates." The protests are billed as though they are being organized by students at the grassroots level, but in fact a D.C.-based immigration activist group is behind them. United We Dream is the "largest immigrant youth-led organization in the nation," composed of over 100,000 immigrant youth and 55 affiliate organizations in 26 states, according to its website. The group seeks to "organize and advocate for the dignity and fair treatment of immigrant youth and families, regardless of immigration status." The group issued a "state of resilience and urgency for immigrants" on Nov. 9, the day after Trump's victory over Hillary Clinton. "The most contentious election in a generation is over. Across the country, immigrant youth in orange shirts, and backed by the strength of their convictions, faced the racism of Trump head on in a fight for their lives," the press release stated. "Immigrants are declaring a state of urgency and resilience. Over the coming weeks, our families and community members will need to tap into the incredible strength that brought us to this country and which we use to survive," said Cristina Jimenez, the executive director and co-founder of United We Dream. "This is a time to mobilize in every city state across our country," Jimenez later added in the release. "We calling on all people to take action to demand that their mayors and governors declare their cities and states as spaces of safety." United We Dream has received tens of thousands of dollars from George Soros' Open Society Foundations. More here
Record Year For Boating Fatalities In Maryland Posted: 25 Nov 2016 01:30 PM PST BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Three men have lost their lives on the water in less than a week, making this year one, of the most deadly for Maryland boaters. The latest deaths came when winds suddenly picked up from a cold front. The deadliest single boating incident this year in Maryland unfolded last Saturday during a fishing tournament, amid four-foot waves, and wind gusts above 40-miles-an-hour. A lone survivor was clinging to the hull, bringing the total number of deaths this year to 17. "You try to make it in. You try to be careful, but in the course of what happened, it probably got dark on them too," said boater Curt Jordan. More
Number of illegals in detention surges 20 percent as DHS vows to deport Haitians Posted: 25 Nov 2016 01:00 PM PST Homeland Security is holding some 41,000 illegal immigrants in detention right now, the department said Wednesday, as agents struggle to get control of a new surge across the border — including a wave of Haitian migrants that is testing the limits of immigration policy. Usually the government only contracts for about 34,000 detention beds, so surpassing 40,000 is a staggering number and signals the difficulties immigration agents are facing at the border as Central American children and families, and now Haitians, try to gain a foothold. Secretary Jeh Johnson said he's asked for even more bed space, saying that holding onto illegal immigrants, rather than catching and releasing them, makes it more likely they can quickly be deported. "We must enforce the immigration laws consistent with our priorities," he said. "Those who attempt to enter our country illegally must know that, consistent with our laws and our values, we must and we will send you back." Mr. Johnson also said deportation flights back to Haiti have resumed in full. They had been largely put on hold since the 2010 earthquake that devastated that country. Flights resumed earlier this fall, only to be suspended again after Hurricane Matthew. Haitians who fled that county to South America after the earthquake have suddenly begun to flow north, hoping to get into the U.S., in recent months. The intelligence analysis said a stronger show of force by U.S. officials vowing to deport Haitians could discourage new migrants from attempting the journey. More
Worcester, Wicomico School Systems Weigh Calendars Posted: 25 Nov 2016 12:30 PM PST NEWARK – The new state-mandated post-Labor Day school start has simplified the calendar process for local jurisdictions. In Worcester County, the school system has put forth two potential school year options instead of the usual three in the annual calendar survey. In Wicomico County, two options were provided to the public but only one included the post-Labor Day start that has now been made a requirement in Maryland. While Wicomico County's school board is expected to make a final calendar decision in December, Worcester officials won't adopt a calendar until February. Because the county typically starts school after Labor Day, officials weren't overly concerned about the impact of the executive order from Gov. Larry Hogan that will now require schools to open after the holiday. "We are certainly not in the uphill battle most other counties are," said Carrie Sterrs, coordinator of public relations for Worcester County Public Schools. More
Penzeys CEO: Trump voters ‘just committed the biggest act of racism’ since segregation Posted: 25 Nov 2016 12:00 PM PST The CEO of a nationwide spice retail chain has accused people who voted for President-elect Donald Trump of committing "the biggest act of racism in American history since Wallace stood in the schoolhouse doorway 53 years ago." Penzeys Spices CEO Bill Penzey is facing backlash for comments he made in an email newsletter to customers last week, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported. "The open embrace of racism by the Republican Party in this election is now unleashing a wave of ugliness unseen in this country for decades. The American people are taking notice," he wrote. Mr. Penzey stood firm by his statement in a Facebook post Thursday but admitted that not all Republicans are racist. Mr. Penzey suggested that Mr. Trump's supporters redeem themselves by volunteering this Thanksgiving or making a donation to the American Civil Liberties Union or Southern Poverty Law Center. Milwaukee County Sheriff and outspoken black conservative David Clarke also weighed in on the controversy, tweeting: "This typical hate-filled white elitist lefty doesn't live around black people or have stores in black neighborhoods," the Milwaukee Business Journal reported. A Highly Respected Medical Journal Just Declared 'The War On Drugs' An Epic Failure Posted: 25 Nov 2016 10:00 AM PST "The war on drugs has failed," the editors of the peer-reviewed British Medical Journal declared this week, arguing that doctors should lead the global effort to reform drug policy. Fiona Godlee, the journal's editor-in-chief, and Richard Hurley, its features and debates editor, penned an analysis citing academic and scientific reports to argue global policies on drug use — including the United Nations' — have fallen drastically short. Godlee and Hurley note the annual cost of prohibition, which entails criminalizing "producers, traffickers, dealers, and users,"totals at least $100 billion annually. "But the effectiveness of prohibition laws, colloquially known as the 'war on drugs,' must be judged on outcomes," they write. "And too often the war on drugs plays out as a war on the millions of people who use drugs, and disproportionately on people who are poor or from ethnic minorities and on women." The authors cite a variety of reasons why the global war on drugs has been a failure. More
Dem Rep Cummings: 'I Don't Necessarily' Think Dems Should Move Away From Identity Politics Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:53 AM PST On Tuesday's broadcast of CNN's "Situation Room," Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) said that he doesn't "necessarily" think the Democratic Party should move away from identity politics, but that the party should "concentrate" on economic issues. Cummings responded to a question on Senator Bernie Sanders' statement that the Democratic Party should move away from identity politics by stating, "I think we need to — no, I don't necessarily agree. I think we need to deal with economics. I think economics is very important, but I think that we need to still pay attention to so many people who have been left out of the system in one way or another. Just like what I just talked about with voting rights of certain segments of our population. I think we can do both. But we've got to concentrate on economics, because a lot of people are suffering, and African-Americans and Hispanics are suffering probably more than other parts of our communities." Video
Soros-funded group launches first 2018 campaign ad with attack on Sen. Jeff Flake Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:45 AM PST The Progressive Change Campaign Committee, a group funded by liberal billionaire George Soros, announced Wednesday that it will launch the first anti-Republican television ad of the 2018 election on Thanksgiving, just 16 days after the Nov. 8 balloting. In what is quickly emerging as a theme of the nascent 2018 campaign, the ad attempts to link a Republican incumbent — in this case, Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake — to Steve Bannon, former Breitbart editor and chief strategist for Republican President-elect Donald Trump. The committee said the ad will air over Thanksgiving on CNN and MSNBC in Phoenix and Tucson, as well as on CNN in Washington, D.C., and continue into next week. The 30-second spot features news clips in which commentators, including PCCC founder Adam Green, accuse Mr. Bannon of being white nationalist, and urges viewers to call Mr. Flake and "demand Trump fire Bannon." Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:37 AM PST Here at the Diary, we do not like to get involved in politics. But this is a special time in the history of our planet – a time when politics will decide what kind of disaster we face. Simplifying, if Congress holds the line against Trump, we will have a deflationary disaster. If it goes along with him, the disaster will be more of the inflationary variety. We are here at the Trump Hotel in SoHo to try to figure out which way it will go. Until now, the feds used only one weapon in their fight to prevent a correction – monetary policy. They used it until the barrel melted and they ran out of ammunition. That leaves fiscal policy – old-fashioned deficit spending. According to standard Keynesian theory, the feds should run a "counter-cyclical" economic policy. When the economy runs hot, the feds should lean towards tight money (high-ish interest rates) and budget surpluses (tax more than they spend). When the economy cools, or goes into recession, the feds should favor loose money (low to ultra-low interest rates) and generous deficits (spend more than they tax). Over time, the interference should be neutral, merely flattening out the business cycle – economic expansions and recessions – but not altering the character of the economy nor its average growth rate. In practice, the feds' battalions are too slow to be helpful. They arrive after the battle is over, and their tendency to err on the side of loose money and deficit spending nullifies the whole theory anyway. But with credit-based money to work with (Mr. Keynes theorized in a world of real money backed by gold), they've permanently skewed the entire economy toward debt and deficits. More
ICE: Suspect in mom's killing, newborn's kidnap in U.S. illegally Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:30 AM PST WICHITA, Kan. -- Authorities say Yesenia Sesmas, the woman accused of killing Wichita mother Laura Abarca-Nogueda and kidnapping her six-day-old baby is in the U.S. Illegally. Wichita police said Sesmas faked being pregnant for months and had been a longtime acquaintance of the 27-year-old mother, who was found dead Thursday at her home. Authorities launched a massive search for the new mother's six-day-old infant Sophia, who was found safe in Dallas days later. In an interview with KUVN-TV of Dallas-Fort Worth, Sesmas, 34, said that Abarca-Nogueda had agreed to turn over her newborn daughter to her but reneged on the agreement. She admitted killing the woman, but said it was an accident. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials confirm to CBS affiliate KWCH that Sesmas is an undocumented immigrant. They say her name was first flagged to them in July, when she was arrested in another kidnapping case. More
Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:23 AM PST Longtime Democrat pollster and consultant Pat Caddell told Breitbart News DailySiriusXM host Matt Boyle on Thursday, "The thing that I think we all should be thankful for is that the American people decided they were going to re-establish their sovereignty as the sovereign masters of this country and not the political class and their media outriders, who believed that the American people were pawns to be pushed around in some dynastic game between the Bushes, the Clintons, and others." Caddell also said, "I'm thankful for my country that we at least put a halt – if we are not going to have massive change, at least we're putting a halt – to what I think has been a descent in our national politics away from the American people having a say." He also cited "corruption" as one of the major factors in this year's election. "The word forbidden to be spoken in Washington was finally allowed to come to the surface." More
32 Times Establishment Media and Pollsters Assured the People of Donald Trump’s Defeat Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:15 AM PST From the time Donald Trump announced his White House bid, there has been no shortage of establishment media outlets predicting his defeat. Indeed, as the weeks and months marked Trump's ever-apparent political preeminence, the pundits, pollsters, and prognosticators doubted and declared his collapse inevitable. Even as Trump, a real estate mogul-turned-reality TV star, clinched the Republican presidential nomination, the affirmations of his failure kept coming. The very establishment media and pollsters who benefitted from Trump's celebrity before branding him leader of a deplorable political base will stand against his governance. In fact, now that Trump — who received a single newspaper endorsement and defied every law of modern politics, winning states Republicans have not conquered in decades — has won the presidency, it's worth noting the many establishment media organs and pollsters who said he would not win. 1. The New York Times: "Donald Trump will not be the Republican nominee." "Despite all the evidence that fortune favors him, Donald Trump will not be the Republican nominee," wrote Ross Douthat. 2. The Washington Post: "Let's dispense with the notion that Trump has a real shot at winning in November." "To borrow a phrase from one of the men trailing Trump: Let's dispense with the notion that Trump has a real shot at winning in November," wrote Post digital opinions editor James Downie. There's 30 more examples here [And what have we learned from this? New 'torpedo' polls are still being published every day. Will they work? --Editor]
Trump wins Michigan two weeks after Election Day Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:07 AM PST Two weeks after Election Day, Donald Trump has won Michigan, theDetroit Free Press declared Wednesday night. The Michigan secretary of state on Wednesday posted vote counts certified at the county level from the contest that was too close to call since people voted on Nov. 8, and showed President-elect Trump ahead of Democratic rival Hillary Clinton by 10,704 votes. That was less than his 13,107 vote lead that was initially recorded. "Many people have asked about Michigan's process for counting ballots and certifying election results. Please be aware that all 1,521 Michigan cities and townships completed ballot counting and reported unofficial results by the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 9," according to a statement on the secretary of state's website. "The county canvassing boards, as they do after every election, then began their work to review and certify the results from each precinct." Trump received a total of 2,279,543 votes, while Clinton got 2,268,839, according to the Michigan Board of State Canvassers' unofficial count. Student Fakes Anti-Gay Notes from Trump Fan Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:00 AM PST A North Park University student fabricated a story where she claimed that President-Elect Donald Trump supporters had sent her "hateful" notes and emails following the 2016 Election, local police confirmed. Taylor Volk, the Chicago college student, said on Nov. 14 that she had received notes and emails containing threatening and harassing language, along with mentions to Trump, according to NBC Chicago. Volk said the notes were tacked onto her door, containing homophobic slurs and Trump references. In a statement from the university, President David Parkyn confirmed that the student had "fabricated" the entire story. More
State To OC: Route 90 Project ‘On The Radar’ Posted: 25 Nov 2016 08:30 AM PST OCEAN CITY — Ocean City officials continue to push for a future dualization of Route 90, but it appears funding and the project's position on the State Highway Administration (SHA) pecking order for Worcester County continues to be a challenge. Last Tuesday, SHA officials briefed the Mayor and Council on a variety of projects in various stages of the planning pipeline in and around the resort area and inevitably the discussion came around to the proposed future dualization of Route 90. For years, Ocean City officials have expressed their desire to see Route 90 prioritized and be considered the county's priority after Route 113's dualization is completed. Last year, the Mayor and Council sent a letter to SHA asking that Route 90 be moved up on the priority list for major highway projects in Worcester County. This summer, two simultaneous incidents essentially shut down both Route 50 and Route 90 at the same time, which served to emphasize the need to expedite the Route 90 dualization. More
Gratitude for a second chance for this exceptional nation Posted: 25 Nov 2016 08:00 AM PST There are two particularly quintessential American holidays: Independence Day, when we celebrate our declaration of independence from the British, which began the most successful experiment in human liberty ever conducted. And Thanksgiving, when we offer appreciation for the wondrous blessings in our individual lives and in the life of the nation. Thanksgiving, of course, came before Independence Day, but in my mind, they've always been inseparable. Thanksgiving carries with it a special communal joy that is rooted in that most simple but powerful human sentiment: gratitude. And this year, we have more than ever for which to be grateful. In less than two months, we will be free of the destructive leftism of President Obama's agenda and will have a new president who promises to restore the idea of Big America: high-growth economically, powerful militarily, strong politically, dynamic culturally and adventurous in everything. Out with corrosive corruption and national weakness; in with powerhouse American strength and energy. It's a time to rejoice for the second chance we've been given as a nation. It's also a time to reflect on these lost Obama years, and to come together as a national family for the exciting, challenging years ahead. Thanksgiving is the perfect day for such introspection. I love that on this one particular day, almost everyone in the country is doing the exact same thing at roughly the same time: cooking, preparing, sitting down to a communal table, praying together, eating together, watching football or movies together. I realize that not everyone is lucky enough to have these blessings. There is a lot of loneliness, despair, pain and violence in the country and the world, and I hope you'll keep those suffering in the prayers you say today. I love that it's uniquely American. Given the exceptional origin of this exceptional nation, Thanksgiving is the one holiday that binds us all together as Americans. It reflects our birthright, our legacy, our home. Thanksgiving is us. And only us. Most of all, I love that it's rooted in appreciation. As Americans, today we give thanks for our families and friends, our faith, our Constitution and the many freedoms it guarantees, our great and good country, and the extraordinary United States military, our bulwark against tyranny, oppression and terror. We are going through unprecedented times, but we are truly blessed in this great land. There is still no other nation like it on earth. Never has been, never will be. God blessed America from the beginning. And He blesses us still. Now we just have to work a bit harder to save her. But today, we celebrate and give thanks that we still have her. More
Whoops! About that tax check... Posted: 25 Nov 2016 09:09 PM PST Peter Franchot, Maryland's comptroller for the past decade, admitted last week that his office misdirected about $21.4 million worth of local income tax payments for years, and for most municipalities in Worcester, the outcome is favorable — except for Snow Hill, which ended up owing the state money. The error was initially believed to be confined to Montgomery County for $8.7 million, but another $12.7 million in misdirected funds was discovered later, according to published reports. Berlin will get the most back from the state, as Town Manager Laura Allen said she received notice from the state that the municipality is owed $134,779 in back tax revenues. Ocean City is next, but is only getting a little more than half of what Berlin is being refunded at $76,800, according to City Manager Doug Miller. More
Canyon sanctuary process will go forward Posted: 25 Nov 2016 07:30 AM PST National Aquarium officials are proceeding with their campaign to make the Baltimore Canyon a marine sanctuary, even though roughly 20 charter boat captains, marine owners and tournament organizers argued that it could be a detriment to the local fishing industry during meeting last Friday. "We still got a fight on our hands, and we're starting to figure out how to move forward," said Jim Motsko, the founder and director of the White Marlin Open after the meeting at the Marlin Club in West Ocean City. A month ago, the National Aquarium launched a petition to establish the 28-mile long underwater rift as its first Urban National Marine Sanctuary. The designation would help protect the rare deep-sea coral and ecosystem in the Baltimore Canyon by restricting offshore exploration for minerals, oil and gas. Since the canyon is one of the cornerstones of Ocean City's fishing industry and, hence, its tourism market, sports fishing advocates have been pushing back on the designation. That culminated in a two-hour forum last week. More
Blue-haired Woman Arrested for Anti-Trump Graffiti on Historical Landmarks Posted: 25 Nov 2016 07:00 AM PST Surveillance video of a blue-haired woman allegedly defacing four Los Angeles County government buildings with vulgar and otherwise anti-Donald Trump graffiti on Sunday led to her arrest on Tuesday. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department described damage to "several historical Los Angeles monumental landmarks" at the hands of the vandal. The vandalism took place approximately just before 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. The Los Angeles Times referenced LASD spokesman Deputy Kelvin Moody when describing the blue spray-painted messages as "vulgarities about [President-elect Donald] Trump and other writings about the president-elect." Bus driver allegedly does nothing while black teens attack white schoolgirls Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:53 AM PST Four white 15-year-old Catholic schoolgirl friends laughing and chatting on their usual bus ride home were targeted in an unprovoked, racial attack that left them bloody and bruised, the teens told The Post Wednesday. "Oh, white girl got money!" a young black man sitting with a friend commented as the girls travelled on the BX8 bus around 3 p.m. Tuesday after dismissal from St. Catharine's Academy in the Pelham Gardens section of The Bronx. Before they knew it, the boys called up some female friends, who boarded a few stops away — and the girls said the group punched and kicked them while grabbing clumps of their hair. More
NPR Finds ‘Godfather’ of Fake News Is a Liberal Democrat Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:45 AM PST National Public Radio launched an investigation of "fake news" sites — which Democrats blame for President-elect Donald Trump's victory — and found, to its surprise, that the "godfather" of fake news is a liberal Democrat from Culver City, California. NPR's Laura Sydell described the process of tracking down fake news sites — many of which had names and formats designed to look like real news websites — and discovering many that led to one company in particular: The sites include NationalReport.net, USAToday.com.co, WashingtonPost.com.co. All the addresses linked to a single rented server inside Amazon Web Services. That meant they were all likely owned by the same company. Jansen found an email address on one of those sites and he was able to link that address to a name: Jestin Coler. Online, Coler was listed as the founder and CEO of a company called Disinfomedia. Obama fast-tracks plan to take Muslim migrants rejected by Australia Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:37 AM PST Congressmen demand answers on 'secretly negotiated treaty' The chairmen of the House and Senate judiciary committees are demanding the Obama administration provide details of a secret resettlement deal in which the U.S. has agreed to take up to 1,800 mostly Muslim asylum seekers who have been rejected by Australia as illegal aliens. Congress only learned of the deal through media reports two weeks ago and, according to a letter sent to administration officials by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., the deal is not only a matter of grave national security concern, but it could be illegal. That's because it amounts to an international treaty that Secretary of State John Kerry negotiated without consulting or notifying Congress according to Article II, Section II of the U.S. Constitution, according to the letter, sent by the two lawmakers Nov. 22 to Kerry and DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson. Serial Bank Robbery Suspect Caught In Ocean City Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:30 AM PST OCEAN CITY, Md. (WJZ) — The serial bank robbery suspect who had previously hit seven Baltimore-area banks is now in police custody, according to the FBI. The serial bank robbery suspect was taken into custody without incident in Ocean City, Maryland, around 2:30 p.m. "It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when someone calls in and says this is who it is and then we'll go get this guy off the streets," said Assistant Special Agent Scott Hinckley. The string of robberies started October 19th at BB&T Bank in Pikesville. Soon after, the suspect hit banks in Parkville, Harbor East, Fells Point, and Locust Point. More
These Devices Will Eat the Smog Trump Stokes With His Coal Boom Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:23 AM PST An innocuous metal cylinder in a garden at the foot of the Italian Alps, quietly snacking on air pollution, may be part of the answer to President-elect Donald Trump's ambition to stimulate coal burning. Its maker, U-Earth Biotechnologies, is one of a handful of companies worldwide seeking to combat smog by, essentially, digesting it. The 10-foot tall cylinder, part of a demonstration project in Turin, contains a strain of bacteria that can consume car exhaust, sulfur dioxide from coal plants and other airborne nasties. One of the units can create a bubble of clean air about the size of a basketball court, according to co-founder Betta Maggio. "Rather than destroying the planet by throwing away filters from ventilation machines, we immobilize the pollution and transform it," Maggio said. The project is an example of the hundreds of technologies scientists and businesses are experimenting with as a solution to reining in the pollution. None on their own can fix the problem, although each can make a contribution. The pioneers include: a social-design company in Rotterdam, which is running a demonstration project in China, and an environmental-research firm in Berlin that specializes in building facades that chemically neutralize harmful particles in the air. Sugar Beets – A Reliable Source of Biofuel? Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:15 AM PST PRINCESS ANNE — A team of researchers that includes UMES agriculture, food and resource sciences professors is scratching the surface of a new frontier searching for alternatives to fossil fuels that power combustion engines. Actually, that frontier is eight-to-12 inches below the surface of a fifth of an acre in the shadow of the university's solar panel energy grid on the east side of campus. Jurgen Schwarz, chairman of the university's Department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Sciences, and colleagues Arthur Allen and Caleb Nindo are working with a consortium of private-sector partners focused on finding new sources of biofuels by planting sugar beets. "Energy beets," Schwarz likes to call them. Early findings show the beets appear capable of producing two-to-three times more ethanol than a comparable amount of corn, which heretofore has been the primary source of the alternative fuel.. Democratic Party Going Extinct, Admits Dem Rep Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:07 AM PST Dems serving donor class, not working class, Rep. Ryan admits The Democratic Party is "going to cease being a national party" if it maintains its current course, admitted Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio), who's challenging Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as Minority Leader. "…The average American, the average working-class American, flipped their middle finger to the establishment, the Democratic establishment, the Republican establishment, Wall Street," he said on Fox Business on Monday. "They think that everybody's more concerned with the donor class than they the working class." "We can't keep going down the same road… I'm pulling the fire alarm right now, is what I'm doing in the Democratic Party." Ryan said establishment Democrats like Pelosi are still in denial about the election, which indicates they have no clue what they're doing. "I'm pulling the fire alarm, because the house is burning down, and we better get our act together or we're going to cease being a national party," he added. "We're going to be a regional party that fails to get into the majority, and fails to do things on behalf of those working class people that were the backbone of the Democratic Party for so long." If you love Chesapeake waterfowl, you’ll love Chesapeake waterfowlers Posted: 25 Nov 2016 06:00 AM PST Thanksgiving morning, just at sunrise, is when people who live on the edges of the Chesapeake are loudly reminded that they live in the middle of a thriving seasonal harvest: waterfowling. Shotgun blasts shatter the dawn silence, sounding for all the world like the opening salvos of a Gettysburg re-enactment. Swiftly following is the roar of thousands of startled geese or ducks taking wing. Left behind on the water are the wounded birds, some still struggling against the inevitable arrival of the retriever. For some folks who have pleasurably watched the Bay's fall aerial tide of geese, this is more than a surprise—it's an outrage. Surely, this noisy, visible, gruesome killing—done for pleasure—must be violating some sort of law? Or at the very least, certainly it violates our environmental ethics in an estuary already imperiled by man's presence? In fact, this prominent reaping of waterfowl is not a violation of the environment at all. Despite all appearances to the contrary, these hunters, the licenses they buy for the privilege of harvesting waterfowl, and the preservation organizations they support, represent arguably one of the best-managed, best-funded and oldest conservation programs in North America. That wasn't always the case.
Australia Cuts Financial Ties With Clinton Foundation Posted: 25 Nov 2016 05:45 AM PST Another indicator of Clinton pay to play scheme revealed Following Hillary Clinton's US presidential election defeat, it has been announced that Australia has cut all official ties with the Clinton Foundation. On Tuesday, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop announced to the joint party room that agreements with the Foundation previously set up by the Rudd-Gillard government had not been renewed. "[Former Prime Minister Julia] Gillard also donated $300 million of our money to the Clinton-affiliated Global Partnership for Education," Australian newspaper the Herald Sun wrote in an October article titled, "Why have we donated to Clinton's foundation?" Obama’s Outgoing Secretary Of Education Calls For ‘Safe Spaces’ On ALL College Campuses Posted: 25 Nov 2016 05:32 AM PST President Barack Obama's secretary of education, John B. King Jr., has officially released a Dear Colleague letter mandating a "commitment to diversity" at America's colleges and universities and calling for taxpayer-funded campuses to create "safe spaces" where students, professors and administrators can talk about "race and discrimination." King, who will almost certainly lose his job in 58 days, released the letter on Friday along with an 89-page report focused on diversity. "Institutions can proactively support student success and college completion by" establishing "venues for safe and open dialogue on issues of race and discrimination among students, faculty, staff, and leadership of different backgrounds," the outgoing education secretary instructs college administrators. College officials should also train "students, faculty, staff" on "how to support diverse student populations and address the implicit biases we all carry with us," the education secretary says. Antarctic Sea Ice Has Not Shrunk In 100 Years Posted: 25 Nov 2016 05:15 AM PST Antarctic Sea Ice Has Not Shrunk In 100 Years Antarctic sea ice had barely changed from where it was 100 years ago, scientists have discovered, after pouring over the logbooks of great polar explorers such as Robert Falcon Scott and Ernest Shackleton. Experts were concerned that ice at the South Pole had declined significantly since the 1950s, which they feared was driven by man-made climate change. But new analysis suggests that conditions are now virtually identical to when the Terra Nova and Endurance sailed to the continent in the early 1900s, indicating that declines are part of a natural cycle and not the result of global warming. –Sarah Knapton, The Daily Telegraph, 24 November 2016 1) Antarctic Sea Ice Has Not Shrunk In 100 Years, Scott And Shackleton Logbooks Prove The Daily Telegraph, 24 November 2016 2) Trump To Scrap NASA Climate Research In Crackdown On 'Politicized Science' The Guardian, 23 November 2016 3) GWPF Climate Briefing: A Brief History Of Arctic Angst GWPF Climate Briefing, November 2016 More
Black Lives Matter Plans To Block White-Owned Businesses On Black Friday Posted: 25 Nov 2016 05:14 AM PST Black Lives Matter and other groups plan to block white-owned Chicago stores on Black Friday to bring awareness about police shootings, economic issues and alleged racism. Local churches, Black Lives Matter and the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression will block stores along Michigan Avenue and prevent customers from entering stores for the second year in a row, reports Crain's Chicago Business. A big part of the protest is to force on people that it's important to shop at businesses that aren't owned by white men, Kimberly Veal, a leader of Black Lives Matter, said. It's not yet known who owns the businesses that will be targeted as part of this effort. "One of the cornerstones about why we're boycotting on Black Friday is to attempt to redirect people to businesses owned by people of color and women, and explain why it's important to patronize these businesses," Veal explained. Eight Arrested for Arson in Northern Israel Posted: 25 Nov 2016 04:00 AM PST Police arrested eight individuals believed to be responsible for some of the hundreds of fires sparked across the country over the past three days. The eight are suspected of operating across northern Israel, setting multiple fires in the midst of a long dry spell, that, along with strong winds, has made for rapid spreading of blazes around the country. Prior to the series of fires which broke out in Haifa on Thursday – and are also believed to be the result of Arab arson – buildings across the Galilee and in Atlit and Zichron Yaakov were damaged. In Haifa, more than 85,000 residents have fled their homes, with eight neighborhoods fully evacuated. Of some 200 fires recorded over the past three days, Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan said it was estimated that roughly one half were deliberately set by Arab arsonists. Police Chief Roni Alsheich announced during a press briefing Thursday afternoon that a number of arrests had already been made in connection with the wave of arsons across the country. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu declared the arsons acts of terrorism, and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. More here

Posted: 25 Nov 2016 01:00 AM PST For all the interest group pandering that shapes modern American politics, the group that may well have decided the election has come down to the demographic of "The Angry Man." The Angry Man is difficult to stereotype. He comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America , from sophisticated urbanite to rural redneck, Deep South to Yankee North, Left Coast to Eastern Seaboard. No matter where he's from, Angry Men share many common traits; they aren't asking for anything from anyone other than the promise to be able to make their own way on a level playing field. In many cases, they are independent businessmen and employ several people. They pay more than their share of taxes and they work hard. Damn hard, for what they have and intend to keep. He's used to picking up the tab, whether it's the Christmas party for the employees at his company, three sets of braces, college educations or a beautiful wedding or two. Not because he was forced to, but because it's the right thing to do. The Angry Man believes the Constitution should be interpreted as it was written. It is not as a "living document" open to the whims and vagaries of appointed judges and political winds. The Angry Man owns firearms, and he's willing to pick up a gun and use it in defense of his home, his country and his family. He is willing to lay down his life to defend the freedom and safety of others, and the thought of killing someone if necessary to achieve those goals gives him only momentary pause. The Angry Man is not, and never will be, a victim. Nobody like him drowned in Hurricane Katrina. He got his people together and got the hell out. Then, he went back in to rescue those who needed help or were too stupid to help themselves in the first place. He was selfless in this, just as often a civilian as a police officer, a National Guard soldier or a volunteer firefighter. Victimhood syndrome buzzwords; "disenfranchised," "marginalized" and "voiceless" don't resonate with The Angry Man. "Press 'one' for English" is a curse-word to him. His last name, his race and his religion don't matter. His ancestry might be Italian, English, African, Polish, German, Slavic, Irish, Russian, Hispanic or any of a hundred others. What does matter is that he considers himself in every way to be an American. He is proud of this country and thinks that if you aren't, you are whole-heartedly encouraged to find one that suits you and move there. The Angry Man is usually a man's man. The kind of guy who likes to play poker, watch football, go hunting, play golf, maintain his own vehicles and build things. He coaches kid's baseball, soccer and football and doesn't ask for a penny. He's the kind of guy who can put an addition on his house with a couple of friends, drill an oil well, design a factory or work the land. He can fill a train with 100,000 tons of coal and get it to the power plant so that you can keep the lights on while never knowing everything it took to do that. The Angry Man is the backbone of this country. He's not racist, but is truly disappointed and annoyed, when people exhibit behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their ethnicity. He's willing to give everybody a fair chance if they're willing to work hard and play by the rules. He expects other people to do the same. Above all, he has integrity in everything he does. The Angry Man votes, and he loathes the dysfunction now rampant in government. It's the victim groups being pandered to and the "poor me" attitude that they represent. The inability of politicians to give a straight answer to an honest question. The tax dollars that are given to people who simply don't want to do anything for themselves. The fact that, because of very real consequences, he must stay within a budget but for some obscure reason the government he finances doesn't. Mostly, it's the blatantly arrogant attitude displayed implying that we are too stupid to run our own lives and only people in government are smart enough to do that. The Angry Man has reached his limit. When a social justice agitator goes on TV, leading some rally for Black Lives Matter, safe spaces or other such nonsense, he may bite his tongue but, he remembers. When a child gets charged with carrying a concealed weapon for mistakenly bringing a penknife to school, he takes note of who the local idiots are in education and law enforcement. But when government officials are repeatedly caught red-handed breaking the law and getting off scot-free, The Angry Man balls-up his fists and readies himself for the coming fight. He knows that this fight, will be a live or die situation, so he prepares fully. Make no mistake, this is a fight in which he is not willing to lose and he will never give up.
