ACLU asks Justice Dept. to accept Dylann Roof guilty plea offer

The deputy legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union is urging the Justice Department to accept the Charleston church shooter's offer to plead guilty to federal hate crimes.

The statement from the ACLU's Jeffrey Robinson on Wednesday came after the delay in Dylann Roof's trial pending his competency evaluation. The delay, Robinson says, gives the Justice Department a chance to accept Roof's offer to plea guilty.

Roof had originally offered to plead guilty in exchange for a life sentence, but federal prosecutors rejected that offer and said they would still seek the death penalty.

Roof, now 22, is the perpetrator of the June 17, 2015, shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church that left nine black parishioners dead.

On Monday, November 7, 2016, it was reported to authorities that a teacher at Stephen Decatur High School had engaged in an extended inappropriate communication with the juvenile student.

Detectives from the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation were contacted and their investigations identified the teacher as, Austin James Martin, 26 of Berlin Md. Mr. Martin was charged with Sex Abuse crimes involving a Minor

Mr. Martin was brought before a District Court Commissioner and was held at the Worcester County Jail to be held on a $25,000 bond.

Black Lives Matter activists expressed shock, anger, fear, and defiance on social media after the election of Donald J. Trump as the 45th president of the United States, demonstrating that the radical leftists behind the Black Lives Matter movement view the election as a setback but far from the end of their work in dividing the country.

Before the election results were known, activists like Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors were already digging in for the work of fighting for leftists causes.

On the eve of the election myself and Janaya Khan are teaching our Organizing for Change class. I really appreciate being able to study and continue to develop a political analysis that is about deepening theory for the sake of practice. Praxis.

Then in a separate post, Cullors was defiant.

Another well-known face in Black Lives Matter is Shaun King, whose message on Twitter was about reaching out to only specific groups. White people were not mentioned:

The Anti-Establishment Trend Has Been Solidified in Trump's Historic Victory, Brexit 2.0

Where were you? Where were you on the 8th of November? Where were you the day that we solidified the trend, the trend of anti-globalism, the trend of wrestling back the power from the elite power structure and returning it into the rightful hands of we, the people?

Trump's historic win was foretold by me and others in the alternative media. This victory was much discussed, as we explained that it had little to do with the candidate, but everything to do with the message of bucking the status quo and shaking up the house.

It began with Brexit, in which the elites thought of as a one-off Black Swan event. Now, we know definitively that this was not a one-off event. Trump's victory for all intents and purposes can be classified as Brexit 2.0, a historic and monumental event that will go down in our history books as the start of a new age.

Losing their crown jewel, the United States will come as a massive blow to the elite establishment and their cronies. They will have to deal with the fact that it is not going to end here - next up for change are France and Germany, both of which are experiencing "change" candidates rising in the ranks and challenging the status quo.

Honor Military Members at Veterans Day Ceremony This Friday

Salisbury, MD – The Wicomico County War Memorial Committee invites the community to join in honoring our military veterans at a ceremony on Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the Wicomico County War Memorial, located directly in front of the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center at 500 Glen Ave. in Salisbury.

The ceremony, which is being coordinated by the Wicomico County War Memorial Committee, includes patriotic music, prayer and remembrance to honor all veterans. Veterans Day is set aside to thank and honor living veterans who served honorably in the military, in wartime or peacetime.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be canceled.

Veterans Day, initially termed Armistice Day, was created to honor World War I veterans and celebrate the official ending of the First World War, which occurred at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, 1918. In 1954, after having been through both World War II and the Korean War, legislation was approved by the 83rd U.S. Congress to change the name from Armistice Day to Veterans Day – thereby making Nov. 11 a day in which all American veterans of wars could be honored.

The Wicomico County War Memorial at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center is a fitting location for this ceremony as the Civic Center is itself a living war memorial to all veterans. At the outside Wicomico County War Memorial, flags from each service branch, along with a United States, Maryland, Wicomico County and the POW-MIA flag now proudly fly over a brick wall displaying bronze plaques with the names of Wicomico County's fallen veterans from World War II and beyond. In his victory speech, Trump called people like Chamberlain and her family America's "forgotten men and women" — the blue-collar workers in the manufacturing towns of the Rust Belt and the hallowing coalfields of Appalachia who propelled him to an improbable victory. They felt left behind by progress, laughed at by the elite, and so put their faith in the billionaire businessman with a sharp tongue and short temper who promised to Make America Great Again.

Pollsters suffer huge embarrassment

Pollsters and election modelers suffered an industry-shattering embarrassment at the hands of Donald Trump on Tuesday night.

Trump had long said the polls were biased against him. His claims – dismissed and mocked by the experts – turned out to be true.

"It's going to put the polling industry out of business," said CNN anchor Jake Tapper. "It's going to put the voter projection industry out of business."

Going into Election Day, a strong majority of pollsters and election modelers forecast that Hillary Clinton would coast to victory, with many predicting she would sweep the battlegrounds and win north of 300 electoral votes.

The final University of Virginia Center for Politics model had Clinton winning 322 electoral votes to 216 for Trump, with Clinton winning Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin – all states that she lost.

OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City Police Department is collecting new, unwrapped toys for this year's holiday season to benefit Worcester G.O.L.D., a non-profit organization that provides financial support to county citizens.

In previous decades, the department's prior benefactor, the Santa House, has helped 20,244 children, 8,275 families and 779 elderly citizens with contributions gathered from the community since its start in the 1990s.

But with no permanent location to run the program, Santa House officials said they would suspend operations for the 2016 season to find a suitable building that will best serve the needs of the community.

Each year, collected toys, food and clothing are divided by family and given to distribution centers at the Ocean City Police Department, Showell Fire Department, Snow Hill Lions Club and the Pocomoke Fair Grounds.

GM Laying Off Over 2,000 at 2 Car Plants as Sales Slow

DETROIT (AP) — Falling demand for cars is forcing General Motors to lay off more than 2,000 workers indefinitely at two assembly plants in Ohio and Michigan starting in January.

The company says it will suspend the third shifts at factories in Lordstown, Ohio, near Cleveland, and in Lansing, Michigan, because customers are shifting from cars to SUVs and trucks.

About 1,250 workers will be furloughed at the Lordstown plant, which makes the Chevrolet Cruze compact car. Another 840 will be idled at the Lansing Grand River factory, which makes the Chevrolet Camaro muscle car and the Cadillac ATS and CTS luxury cars.

Officials Break Ground On Berlin Police Station Project

BERLIN – Community leaders gathered Wednesday to celebrate the long-awaited start of the town's new police station with a groundbreaking ceremony on Decatur Street.

Construction of the new building, which is expected to be complete in early 2018, will enable Berlin's police force to move out of its cramped space on William Street and into a state-of-the-art facility.

"This is a very important day for the law enforcement community," Mayor Gee Williams said.

In Berlin, officials have been discussing the need for a new police station for years. The cramped space adjacent to town hall currently that's been used by the town's police since the 1960s is not only too small, it doesn't meet the standards modern-day stations are required to meet.

I might've caught a glimmer of America's greatness in the eye of childhood, but early on the culture of my youth was a complete bombardment of degeneracy and ruin. Twenty-first century American life now resembles a dystopia that worsens every day.

It took a long while for me to wake up – I was a product of postmodern American culture, post-Vatican II parochial schooling and all the other dumbed-down influences from television to rock. But eventually I came to see how I was born into a society that had already gone into collapse.

The West has been off track ever since the '60s revolt – it was like the French Revolution, and has caused all institutions to fail.

GM Slashes 2000 Jobs, Suspends 3rd Shift On Bloated Inventories, Slowing Sales

Who could have seen this coming? Just weeks after Ford idled four factories due to slumping sales and excess inventory, GM just followed by slashing 2000 jobs permanently and suspending a third shift at production facilities in early 2017.

We have warned numerous times that there is only one way this ends...

And so it just did...

GM Statement:

General Motors today announced initiatives to strengthen and align its production output at key U.S. manufacturing operations. The plans include investing more than $900 million in three facilities — Toledo Transmission Operations in Ohio, Lansing Grand River in Michigan and Bedford Casting Operations in Indiana — to prepare the facilities for future product programs.

GM also announced plans to align production output with demand for cars built at the Lordstown, Ohio, and Lansing Grand River, Michigan, assembly plants. As the customer shift from cars to crossovers and trucks is projected to continue, GM will suspend the third shift of production at both facilities in the first quarter of 2017.

Time for Trump to deliver one more surprise

Donald Trump's stunning victory in the presidential race is not just devastating to liberals in general and Hillary Clinton in particular. It is also concerning to many conservatives as well.

Trump's vision of America, the "Crippled America" of which he has written, is not one that most people share in all its particulars. But most Americans can see some plain, unvarnished truth in it, which is why Trump is on his way to the White House.

In a race to the bottom between the two least popular presidential nominees in modern history, voters did what most professional pundits said they would not: Unable to face the dreary and degrading prospect of electing the devil they did know, the latest champion of the corrupt Clinton clan, they took a risk on the untried candidate.

Clinton's belated departure from the national political scene is cause for celebration. Democrats will bemoan her loss, thinking rightly that they are in a perilous state if they cannot beat an opponent so flawed. Clinton's venality and mendacity proved an insurmountable obstacle for too many voters, as it should have.

The source of these emails comes from within official circles in Washington DC. You should look to Washington not to Moscow."

Murray went on to blast the narrative that Wikileaks is a conduit for Russia by asserting that such claims are "designed to divert attention from the content of the material."

How Donald Trump's victory might affect the FBI headquarters competition

The future FBI headquarters belongs in Prince George's County, its leaders say, and logic dictates that Democrat Hillary Clinton's shocking loss in Tuesday's presidential election benefits Maryland in that huge competition.

That is, assuming the competition goes on. Donald Trump, a real estate developer and the next president of the United States, is a wild card. We simply don't know what he's going to do. But here's our best guess.

Clinton is a close friend of Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, and her running mate, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, is a former governor of the commonwealth. It stands to reason that if Clinton had defeated Trump, it would have significantly boosted Virginia's shot at landing the 2.4 million-square-foot FBI headquarters.

Did Podesta Hint At What Was Coming: "FBI Leakers Should Shut Up"

With just two days left until the election, John Podesta went on one of the Clinton campaign's "friendly" political talk shows to bash FBI agents leaking harmful info about their various investigations into Hillary's assorted criminal cases. In an interview that wreaked of a little desperation, Podesta lashed out at FBI agents saying "the leakers should shut up." With the interview occurring earlier this morning before the recent news that the FBI has balked, yet again, at bringing official charges against Hillary, it certainly seems possible that Podesta had advanced knowlege that a Comey announcement was forthcoming (see "Hillary Cleared As FBI Folds Again: Comey Says "Conclusions Unchanged From July" On Clinton Email Review").

I think what Mr. Comey did just 9 days ago was a mistake. I think it broke with precedent. I think it was criticized roundly by democrats and republicans. It was a mistake.

There is a reason for that policy. It looked like it was interfering in the election.

I think the men and women of the FBI are doing a tremendous job out here across the country. But the leakers should shut up.

On Wednesday's "MSNBC Live," anchor Stephanie Ruhle, New York Times columnist Frank Bruni, and journalist Tina Brown discussed the 2016 election and political correctness, and during that discussion, Ruhle wondered if political correctness has prevented people from saying things that are important, and Bruni and Brown concluded that when people feel they'll be attacked for speaking their minds, they find an outlet like President-Elect Donald Trump.

Ruhle asked, "Did we over-simplify things? Did we believe that Hillary Clinton and this all-inclusive global citizen message does represent the United States, and thought that this base that Donald Trump had really was just in this narrow nationalist vertical? When many of the initiatives that represent Obama…many people could say transgender bathrooms in high schools, how many people is that going to impact in this country? Not so many."

Bruni stated that the Democratic Party has become a "collection of boutique issues" ...

Seven World-Historical 'Achievements' Of The Iraq Invasion Of 2003

Here is a list of the noteworthy, ongoing results of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq beginning in March 2003. (Recall that invasion was denounced by the UN as illegal, based entirely on lies, and—given the U.S.'s hegemonic position in the world, allowing it to act with impunity—the crime's architects have never punished.)

1) The principal achievement of the war and occupation was the dramatic expansion of the al-Qaeda network that had attacked the U.S. on January 11, 2001. An al-Qaeda franchise was established in Iraq for the first time, playing a key role in the Sunni "insurrection" against the occupiers and their Shiite allies, then expanding across the border into Syria where it split into the al-Nusra affiliate and its even more savage rival, ISIL. Iraq also served and serves as a training ground for jihadis now operating from Iraq to Libya and beyond.

2) The invasion and its consequences encouraged the cause of Kurdistan, an imagined state straddling Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey. The Kurds are the largest stateless people in the world, victims of British and French colonialists who divided the region between them after World War I. After the Gulf War of 1991, the U.S. established a "no-fly" zone over northern Iraq to discourage Baghdad from deploying troops in the region. Iraqi Kurdistan had already obtained a degree of autonomy before the invasion but the status became official under the occupation and a referendum for independence is likely to pass soon. This would infuriate Iraq and perhaps provoke Turkey's intervention. As it is, the autonomous region is locked in struggle with Baghdad over territorial claims and control over oil fields.

We believe in the principles that built this country, we believe in the Constitution. Pruden: A day to separate the losers

This is the day that divides winners and losers, and it's fashionable to say it's about time. But watching the losers of aught-16 do it unto themselves was the best part of the show.

There can be but one winner, but losers abound.

Jeb Bush could be the Theodore White of this election campaign, calling it "The Unmaking of the President," subtitled "How I Blew $120 Million to Make It to Sixth Place."

Like all the Bushes, father and sons, Jeb is a nice guy. Leo Durocher, the manager of the old Brooklyn Dodgers, famously put nice guys in a context all their own. "Nice guys!" he said, one day in the summer of 1946, talking with sportswriters before a game with the Dodgers' hated crosstown rivals, the New York Giants.

Seaford– On Saturday November 5, 2016 the Sussex Drug Unit and the Seaford Police Department concluded a joint investigation which targeted a large-scale Heroin distribution organization centered in the Seaford area.

The six month investigation dubbed "Operation No Way Out" was concluded with the assistance of the Kent and Sussex County Governor's Task Force, State Police New Castle County Drug Unit, DEA-Salisbury, Maryland State Police, and Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force (WINTF).

The investigation revealed the leaders of the organization as Brandon A. Ways, 27 of Smyrna, and Torontay T. Mann, 25 of Seaford. Associates involved in the organization included Vanity N. Corea, 30 of Seaford, Norquetta C. Heath, 32 of Seaford, and Angeline M. Metelus, 21 of Bridgeville. The organization was known to operate out of three separate residences all located within the limits of Seaford and one in Salisbury, Maryland. Brandon Ways and Torontay Mann were also known to be using a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Nissan Maxima to transport the heroin for distribution.

The final phase of the investigation began with the execution of numerous search warrants. Initially, a search warrant was executed on a blue 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee after the vehicle, which was operated by Angeline Metelus, was stopped by troopers in the area of South DuPont Highway (US13) and Webbs Lane near Dover. During a search of the vehicle, 79,500 bags of heroin totaling 1,192.5 grams was located.

Search warrants were then executed by the Seaford Police Department and Delaware State Police at the three apartments within the limits of Seaford as follows:

100 block of Woodland Mills Apartments: Upon entering the apartment, Norquetta Heath was taken into custody without incident. A search of the residence revealed .40 caliber ammunition, .9mm ammunition, and a .40 Caliber Glock handgun magazine. Brandon Ways exited the apartment just prior and was taken into custody on a traffic stop on Atlanta Road. He was found to be in possession of over $800.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

800 block of Chandler Heights II: Torontay Mann and Tateyana Rideout, 22 of Seaford, were taken into custody without incident. Detectives seized a .22 caliber handgun located in a hand bag inside a bedroom closet along with 13 grams of marijuana and $3,655.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Unit block of Seaford Meadows: Vanity Corea was taken into custody at this residence. Detectives located and seized three firearms during the search including a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, a .40 caliber Glock semi-automatic handgun, and a second .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun with an obliterated serial number. Drug paraphernalia was also seized including packaging materials and a digital scale located inside a safe.

As a result of the investigation, the suspects were all transported back to Troop 4 in Georgetown where they were formally charged as follows on Saturday November 5, 2016:

Brandon A. Ways - Possession of Tier 5 quantity Heroin, Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, four counts of Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited, and Conspiracy 2nd. He was arraigned at JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution (SCI) in default of $134,000.00 cash bond.

Torontay T. Mann - Possession of Tier 5 quantity Heroin, Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession Firearm by Person Prohibited, and Conspiracy 2nd. He was released from SCI after posting $125,000.00 secured bond.

Vanity N. Corea - Possesion of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number, Maintaining a Drug Property, and Conspiracy 2nd. She was released on $16,000.00 unsecured bond.

Angeline M. Metelus - Possession of Heroin in a Tier 5 quantity, Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, and Conspiracy 2nd. She has since been released after posting $42,000.00 secured bond.

Norquetta C. Heath - Maintaining a Drug Property and Conspiracy 2nd. She was released on $5,000.00 unsecured bond.

Tateyana Rideout - Maintaining a Drug Property and Conspiracy 2nd. She was released on $5,000.00 unsecured bond.

On Monday November 7, 2016, members of the Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at Brandon Ways' residence in Ocean Aisle Apartments Salisbury, Maryland. Torontay Mann, who had been bailed out from the November 5thincident, was contacted after he was leaving the apartment. A search of the residence revealed a Rossi .38 special revolver in the bedroom dresser. The firearm was previously reported stolen to the Bridgeville Police Department in Delaware. Mann was charged with the weapons offense and released after posting bond in Maryland.

Donald Trump pulled off arguably the biggest political upset in history. He went into election night with a very slim chance of winning and came out victorious. The reason why he won is clear to anyone who has endured divisive leftism over the last eight years and it's liberals who gave birth to the Trump phenomenon.

Liberal media pundits, academics, and politicians spent Obama's tenure fanning the flames of the silent majority. Every disagreer was a bigot. Every conservative opposed to central planning "hated poor people". Every police officer was a racist murderer. Not a single Democrat wasted a moment turning everything into a racial issue - all with zero regard for objective truth.

If you spend any time in the Facebook political sphere, the last few years of Occupy Democrats, Being Liberal, and the rest of the lot will tell you a lot about the underlying tension. "Disagree with us and you're a racist", "we deserve $15 an hour because you're a greedy bastard", and so on and so forth. Occupy Democrats went so far as to once suggest that disagreeing with the President is paramount to treason.

Dead Man Elected to Office in Oceanside

An Oceanside man who died of natural causes in September was elected to office in the coastal San Diego County city more than a month later, officials confirmed Wednesday.

Gary Ernst was elected to Oceanside City Treasurer by a six percent margin over challenger Nadine Scott. The election results are expected to be certified on December 7th by the city council.

Ernst died Sept. 23 which did not allow enough time to remove his name from the ballot.

With all precincts reporting, Ernst earned 17,659 votes.

No, America, that wasn't an earthquake. That was a media scream that registered 11 on the Richter scale as Republican Donald Trump defied media demands and went on to win the presidential election in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump to concede.

A nearly unanimous media failed to carry the unpopular Hillary across the finish line. Once again, America rejected the liberal Democrat. Advil set the tone early with a comment: "Politics giving you a #migraine? Advil® Migraine is the best candidate for pain relief." CNN commentator David Axelrod called it a "primal scream." ABC's Terry Moran called it "a rejection of the neoliberal world order that has been the consensus around the world." CNN commentator and former Obama green jobs czar Van Jones called the election a "White-lash against a changing country."

When it appeared that Hillary would not concede, after campaign chairman John Podesta appeared before her supporters in Manhattan and told everyone to go home and get some rest, even some in media criticized her. USA Today Washington correspondent Paul Singer was typical: "Stunned that @HillaryClinton did not concede. If @realDonaldTrump pulled that, people would go bananas."

Doug Band, founder of global strategies company Teneo and Bill Clinton's personal assistant since the 1990s, wrote the Jan. 4, 2012, email to future Hillary Clinton presidential campaign chair John Podesta and two other Clinton aides after receiving word that Chelsea had told "one of the [President] bush 43 kids" and others about "an internal investigation of money within the foundation." Band wrote such chatter was "not smart."

Polls and predictive models failed to predict Trump's strength.

Everybody was wrong. Again.

When Election Day dawned, almost all the pollsters, analytics nerds and political insiders in the country had Hillary Clinton waltzing into the White House.

By the time polls had closed nationwide on Tuesday night, those projections had been left in shambles — just like the ones a year ago that all-but ruled out the possibility of Donald Trump winning the Republican Party's presidential nomination.

Headed into Election Day, polling evangelist Nate Silver's 538 website put Clinton's odds at winning the White House at about 72 percent. By midnight, the site had more than flipped its odds making, giving Trump an 84 percent chance of winning.

Trump had notched hugely significant upset victories in Florida, North Carolina and Wisconsin — critical swing states where almost every public poll and most private projections had shown Clinton ahead.

A major Bill and Hillary Clinton supporter helped kill "unfavorable" stories in the National Enquirer about the former president, an internal Clinton Foundation memo shows.

Written by longtime Bill Clinton assistant Doug Band, the Nov. 12, 2011 memo lays out the complex relationship that Clintonworld had with Marc Lasry, a billionaire who then owned a majority of the debt for American Media Inc., which publishes the National Enquirer.

"Mr. Lasry, like other Foundation donors, has a multifaceted relationship with the Foundation and the President," reads the memo, which Band sent to two lawyers who were conducting an internal audit of the Clinton Foundation.

As part of that "multifaceted relationship," Lasry contributed to the Clinton Foundation, hosted fundraisers at his home, hired Chelsea Clinton at his hedge fund, Avenue Capital Group, and helped Chelsea's husband raise money for his own hedge fund.

Maryland grows more politically polarized, like rest of U.S.

COLLEGE PARK, Maryland — While Maryland voted for the Democratic candidate in 2016 for the seventh straight presidential election, a deepening Republican loyalty in more rural areas of the state indicates increased polarization throughout Maryland, a Capital News Service analysis found.

While liberal-leaning urban areas helped Hillary Clinton secure Maryland's 10 electoral votes and Democratic candidates won all but one U.S. House seat Tuesday, the state's liberal base didn't perform according to expectations.

Donald Trump received a higher percentage of votes than Mitt Romney in 15 of the 18 Maryland counties that voted Republican in 2012, while Clinton failed to expand on President Barack Obama's coalition from 2012.

Of the six counties that voted Democratic four years ago, only two counties — Howard and Montgomery — supported Clinton at higher rates than they supported Obama.

HYPOCRISY OF THE LEFT

The protests against the legitimate election of President-Elect Donald J Trump are populated by the same people who gave him derision for saying he might not accept the outcome of the election. Yet to the streets they go, without anyone actually offending them. The guilty flee when no man accuses. It's fine for them to not accept the outcome of the election, but wasn't for Trump.

Others in California wish to leave the Union, yet they scorned Texans who suggested they may want to do the same if Clinton won. Note the hypocrisy? Why is that. First of all, the fair-minded observer will note that there are no principles on the left. Values, often misplaced, but no principles. There is a whiny obnoxious tone on the left as well. The general trend is that they dislike or even hate their country. Their way or no way.

Even Obama and Clinton found a way to be gracious losers. There are those who refuse to even TRY to work with Mr. Trump. What are they afraid of? Likely exposure that their ideas are old and tired. If it becomes exposed, they lose their "I want it free" argument.

At some point there needs to be an infusion of intellectual honesty in both left and right ideologists. Intellectual honesty applies the same principles to everyone regardless of their ideology.

Many of the protesters interviewed on TV showed how uniformed they are. Likely, many of them were paid to protest, but certainly not all. One young woman interviewed in Oakland, CA said that she was protesting for the environment and for the US to take more environmental steps which she was sure wouldn't happen in a Trump administration. Up to this point, she, while not necessarily correct in her science, was on an intellectual track. Then she went on to say that people in India and China area dying from air pollution. Well...those countries manufacture their own pollutants. We've all seen video of Beijing in a cloud of smog so thick one can barely imagine breathing there. Not the fault of the US.

Another protester said she wanted California to leave the Union because California gives the US money to support the rest of the country and that California doesn't need the rest of us. So uninformed she doesn't understand the strength of the Union but also that California goes bankrupt without the rest of the country.

Yet these protesters have a right to protest peacefully. You don't need principles to protest, just an excuse. Learning more about the Constitution and what the Framers had in mind is what these young folks need. They also need a lesson in what hypocrisy is and why it's a bad thing. Then they need to look inward and see who they really are.

Develop intellectual honesty and hypocrisy usually disappears. Give it a try leftists. It might look very good on you.

Stocks Surge to Unexpected Near-Records Following Trump Victory

It turns out that President Donald Trump might not be bad for the stock market after all.

Asian stock markets tumbled shortly after Trump overtook Hillary Clinton in the presidential electoral vote count early Wednesday. From there, all signs quickly pointed to a big stumble for Wall Street — that never materialized.

Soon after Trump was confirmed as America's 45th president and he delivered an acceptance speech pledging to unify a deeply divided nation, global financial markets steadied.

The U.S. stock market wavered in the first hour of trading, but then moved sharply higher, flirting by late afternoon with a record high for the Dow Jones industrial average.

"He took on a remarkably conciliatory posture," said Eric Wiegand, senior portfolio manager at the Private Client Reserve at U.S. Bank. "That went a long way to demonstrating perhaps for the first time, or very few times, his presidential disposition and gave a greater sense of calm. That's what had an early reprieve in the markets."

Authorities in western Pennsylvania are conducting a manhunt Thursday after a gunman opened fire on two police officers responding to a domestic violence call, killing one and injuring the other.

State Police Trooper Melinda Bondarenka told reporters that the officers were immediately met with gunfire when they arrived at the scene at about 3:15 a.m. Bonderanka said the police were "ambushed upon their arrival."

Over the past year, the biggest casualty to emerge as a result of global NIRP (or close to it) monetary policy have been pension funds, which have had two choices: either suffer losses as yields on new fixed income investments barely cover (and in some case don't), or scramble for duration (or outright risky investments like junk bonds and high beta stocks).

In August, we created the chart below as a simplistic illustration of the pension "duration dilemma." The chart graphs how a pension liability grows in a declining interest rate environment versus the value of 5-year and 30-year treasury bonds. As you can see, a $1BN pension that is fully funded at prevailing interest rates would be nearly $700mm underfunded if interest rates declined 300bps and all of their assets were invested in 30-year treasury bonds. The result is obviously even worse if the fund's assets are invested in shorter duration 5-year treasuries.

WASHINGTON — Voters in Montgomery County, Maryland, want a change in leadership. By approving term limits on County Council members Tuesday, residents decided this will be the last go-round for four senior council members.

Voters on Tuesday passed Question B with 69 percent of the vote, thus limiting the time the county executive and County Council members can remain in office to three consecutive terms.

The 2016 presidential race is officially over. Millions turned out to the polls on Tuesday (November 8) to show their support for their respective candidate. Once the numbers rolled in, they revealed that Republican Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States.

Country stars and other celebrities were vocal about their thoughts concerning the results. Many took to social media to express their excitement, while others communicated feelings of uncertainty.

All throughout the election, Voice judge and pop star Miley Cyrus expressed her dislike of Trump and her preference for the Democratic candidates, first Bernie Sanders and later Hillary Clinton.
