Muslims in Italy: “Give Us Back Our Mosques or We Will Pray in the Vatican’

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 09:00 PM PST

Despite a major Muslim protest at the Colosseum against the closure of illegal mosques, Rome police have continued shutting down so-called "garage mosques," and now Muslims are threatening to invade Saint Peter's Basilica to pray there.

This week, authorities closed down another makeshift mosque in Rome for failure to meet building norms and for non-compliance with safety standards, the sixth such mosque-closing in the last months.

In response, Muslims in Rome have threatened to invade the Vatican to pray in Saint Peter's Basilica, which Italian media are calling Islamic "blackmail."

"As many as 300 people can pray here; where will we go if it's closed?", said a young Muslim man identified only as "Hussein," who works in a hardware store not from one of the "Islamic centers" that police have closed.

This center is located in the eastern suburbs, a district where half of the inhabitants are Muslims and the heart of the Islamic protest against the closure of Islamic places of worship.

"We live here, we work here, we cannot go to pray in Parioli [the other side of town]," says Anwar, the president of a neighborhood prayer hall.

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 07:30 PM PST

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — From the San Fernando Valley to the Santa Clarita Valley, CBS2's David Goldstein's undercover cameras captured similar looking groups of panhandlers with children.

Some were holding kids small enough to even be breastfeeding, and all were holding signs claiming to be down and out.

But are they as needy as they seem?

Goldstein watched them outside shopping areas all over town, with similar signs reading "Please help,", "Lost my job," "I have 3 kids" and the like.

Residents believe they're all working together, and they're fed up.

"It's a well-organized group, no question about it," said one local.

MD 404 IN WYE MILLS CLOSING FOR TWO WEEKS

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 06:30 PM PST

Closure and Detour Needed to Replace Pipe One-Half Mile West of US 50 in Talbot County

To expedite replacement of a deteriorated stream crossing, the Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration (SHA) is closing MD 404 (Queen Anne Highway) at Always Inn Lane in Wye Mills for approximately two weeks beginning today. SHA will detour traffic using US 50 (Ocean Gateway), MD 662 (Old Wye Mills Road) and MD 213 (College Drive). Motorists should follow detour signs. Crews will maintain local access construction. This work will not impact MD 404 traffic east of US 50, where a project to widen 9.2 miles has been underway since summer.

SHA's contractor will replace two deteriorating metal pipes carrying a branch of Wye River with a single reinforced concrete pipe approximately 40-feet long. To ensure safety while placing a precast headwall, the contractor may have to de-energize power lines in the area for a few hours. The local power utility will provide advance notice of any planned outage.

(SHA photo: Aging, deteriorated culvert pipes carrying a branch of the Wye River under MD 404.)

SHA awarded the $250,000 contract to David A. Bramble of Chestertown. Performing this work under a closure and detour will dramatically reduce construction time and improve safety for workers and motorists.

Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands. Maryland drivers can also know before they go by calling 511 or visiting www.md511.org for live traffic updates, including construction delays and lane closures.

Orban: Trump Win Is Chance for West to Break Free from Political Correctness

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 06:00 PM PST

Donald Trump's victory marks the end of "liberal non-democracy" and will allow the West to break free from the "captivity of ideologies" that distort reality through political correctness, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has said.

The election outcome indicates a shift in popular thinking in the West, Orbán said in remarks made yesterday evening on a trip to London, and this morning at a conference organised by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

During his one-day official visit to Britain's capital, the Central European leader commentedthat the Republican candidate's big win represents a victory for freedom of thought in the Western world.

He told reporters: "The world has always benefited whenever it has managed to release itself from the captivity of currently dominant ideological trends. In my view, this is what has happened just now in the United States.

Thank you, Dr. Trump -- Our Stockholm Syndrome's finally been cured

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 04:00 PM PST

More than 15 years have passed since terrorists knocked down the World Trade Center, killing nearly 3,000 people. And I believe it has taken that long for America to begin to snap out of its version of Stockholm Syndrome and elect a president who doesn't try to appease our enemies by apologizing for what America represents and dissolving our patriotism in a meaningless ocean of globalism.

"Stockholm Syndome," by the way, is the name given to a phenomenon that gripped hostages taken during a bank robbery in Sweden. The hostages unconsciously adopted the perspectives and demands of their captors, presumably because they intuited that they might not be killed by those who considered them allies—albeit newly-fashioned ones.

I think Barack Obama's election was fueled, in large measure, by a similar unconscious phenomenon that followed the destruction of the World Trade Center: We hid behind a leader who never seemed, to me, to like us Americans very much—at least not in our desire for individual autonomy, our insistence on the rights guaranteed by our Constitution and our sense that the world would be better off, if more of the world adopted our core values.

I'm not sure that any other candidate could have—at this moment in history—shaken us out of our contempt for our national character, our complacency about losing our fundamental rights and our turning away from our manifest destiny as Americans and America.

New JFK assassination theory: Cuban double agent led plot

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 03:00 PM PST

More than 50 years after President John F. Kennedy was gunned down in Dallas, new evidence uncovered in the secret diaries of a Cold War spy and assassin implicates another clandestine figure believed to be working as a double agent for Cuba, an explosive new book claims.

The never-before-revealed diaries of Douglas DeWitt Bazata, a decorated officer for the United States Office of Strategic Services — the forerunner of the Central Intelligence Agency — claim that his longtime close friend and fellow spy, René Alexander Dussaq, was a "primary organizer and plotter" of Kennedy's assassination on Nov. 22, 1963.

The diaries reveal that Dussaq might even have fired the fatal "shot or shots" that killed the 35th president of the United States, according to author Robert K. Wilcox's latest book, "Target: JFK, The Spy Who Killed Kennedy?," which goes on sale Nov. 14.

"Douglas Bazata was deeply embedded in the world of secrets, especially those surrounding JFK's death," Wilcox writes. "He was there at the birth of the CIA as an early and major player in that murkiest of worlds … He was an insider."

State Must Get Real With Spending

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 02:30 PM PST

For nearly a decade, the members of the House Republican Caucus have held firm in the belief that our state does not have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem. A recent meeting of the state's Spending Affordability Committee is yet another reminder that, without meaningful spending reforms, our chronic budget deficits will only continue. During the O'Malley years, the constant answer to the state's budgetary woes was tax and fee increases (more than 80 of them in eight years), whopping increases in borrowing, and robbing funds from transportation and environmental programs.

Enter Governor Hogan, who has had the audacity to suggest that instead of increasing the tax burden on our citizens, he and the General Assembly work together to rein in spending and enact fiscally responsible measures to put Maryland on a secure path that eliminates the constant cycle of deficits and tax hikes. But the Democratic leadership in the General Assembly has fought the governor's efforts and pushed for even more spending.

It's not as though Maryland's economy is doing poorly. In fact, it is very strong. Revenues have grown by about 3.5 percent — more than three times the national GDP (gross domestic product) growth. Governor Hogan's commonsense reforms have led to rapid private sector job growth, median income growth and Maryland's lowest unemployment rate in nearly a decade. But even with growing revenues, the legislature is still writing checks that Maryland's taxpayers cannot cash. The fact that the state is once again faced with a structural deficit is a testament to the Democratic leadership's addiction to spending and their refusal to make legitimate spending reforms.

DNC Prepares To Elevate Muslim Congressman Ellison To Chief

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 02:00 PM PST

If you thought the Democrats would respond to Donald Trump's stunning victory in the 2016 presidential election by attempting to woo back some of the white blue-collar voters they lost over the last eight years, you're sadly mistaken: they'll be doubling down on the Obama coalition.

The proof: on Friday, support built dramatically among Democratic insiders like incoming Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) as head of the Democratic National Committee.

Ellison is a black Muslim from Minnesota – not exactly a reflection of the crowd the Democrats lost in 2016. He's also a radical leftist on economic policy, endorsed by socialist Senator Bernie Sanders. As Jack Heretik of Free Beacon points out, "He supported impeaching then-Vice President Dick Cheney, compared President George W. Bush to Hitler, and blamed Bush for the September 11 attacks." He's radically anti-Israel, too; he compared Israel to South African apartheid, and wanted Israel to grant concessions to the terrorist group Hamas. Ellison was linked to the anti-Semitic Nation of Islam, and as The Weekly Standard reports, "he himself mouthed those views."

DC Council passes ‘death with dignity’ bill

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 01:30 PM PST

WASHINGTON — DC Council passed the "death with dignity" bill Tuesday, sending it to the mayor for final approval.

The bill would allow terminally ill patients over 18 years old, with six months or fewer to live to request lethal medication from their doctors.

The council voted 11-2 to pass the measure with council members Brianne Nadeau, Ward 1, and Yvette Alexander, Ward 7, voting against it.

In it's first reading Nov. 1, some council members expressed the difficulty they were having personally in supporting the legislation. Council member Kenyan McDuffie, Ward 5, was brought to tears recounting his father's final days and remarked that it was "by far my toughest vote in the four- and-a-half years on this body," he said.

Wisconsin Republican: Ryan is ‘Quisling of Capitol Hill’

Challenger accuses House speaker of working against Trump

"Many of our fellow citizens feel alienated and have lost faith in our core institutions. They don't feel heard, and they don't feel represented by those in office. But Donald Trump heard a voice out in this country that no one else heard."

House Speaker Paul Ryan spoke those words Wednesday, a day after Trump's momentous upset victory in the presidential election.

But the speaker is wrong to suggest Trump heard a voice no one else did, contends Paul Nehlen, the man who challenged Ryan in his GOP congressional primary this year.

"We've all been screaming it," Nehlen told WND in an interview. "Paul Ryan heard us. Mitch McConnell heard us. They've ignored us, and they in fact worked against us. And that is the reason for the rise of Donald Trump. This race was not about Donald Trump; this race was about not being listened to."

Ryan also credited Trump's "strong coattails" with helping Republicans hold onto the House and Senate. Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin was one of the Republican incumbents thought to be vulnerable who nevertheless hung onto his seat.

Single Fatal Punch Enough For Guilty Manslaughter Verdict; Jury Reaches Verdict In Summer Incident

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 12:30 PM PST

SNOW HILL — It took about 90 minutes for a Worcester County Circuit Court jury on Tuesday to return a guilty manslaughter verdict for a Sparrows Point man who threw a fatal punch that claimed the life of another Baltimore County man in Ocean City in May.

After a day-and-a-half trial, the Worcester County Circuit Court jury on Tuesday found Darren Beattie, 22, of Sparrows Point, Md., guilty of manslaughter for his role in the death of Ryan M. Shupert, 31, of Lutherville, Md., on May 29 in Ocean City. In another case of a fight gone terribly wrong, which has become all too familiar in Ocean City in recent years, Beattie and Shupert along with groups of their friends were first involved in a verbal altercation that turned into a deadly physical altercation, and Beattie threw the single punch to Shupert's head that caused him to fall hard to the ground and ultimately claimed his life.

On Tuesday, the jury deliberated for about an hour-and-a-half before returning a guilty verdict on the manslaughter charge and the lesser charges against him and a pre-sentence investigation was ordered. Beattie now faces up to 10 years in prison for the manslaughter conviction. He is being held in custody pending the outcome of a pre-sentence investigation and sentencing has not yet been scheduled.

‘Sanctuary cities’ vow to protect immigrants from Trump plan

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 11:30 AM PST

SEATTLE (AP) — Democratic mayors of major U.S. cities that have long had cool relationships with federal immigration officials say they will do all they can to protect residents from deportation, despite President-elect Donald Trump's vows to withhold potentially millions of dollars in taxpayer money if they do not cooperate.

New York City's Bill de Blasio, Chicago's Rahm Emanuel and Seattle's Ed Murray are among those in "sanctuary cities" that have tried to soothe worried immigrant populations.

"Seattle has always been a welcoming city," Murray said Monday. "The last thing I want is for us to start turning on our neighbors."

In Providence, Rhode Island, Mayor Jorge Elorza, the son of Guatemalan immigrants, said he would continue a longstanding policy of refusing to hold people charged with civil infractions for federal immigration officials. Newark, New Jersey's Ras Baraka echoed that decision, calling Trump's rhetoric on immigration "scary."

Obama's legacy: Democratic losses, party chaos

Next DNC leader faces battle over strategy

Democrats always had the White House — until last week.

As their majorities in Congress slipped away and they ceded the lead in governorships over the past six years, President Obama and his top lieutenants comforted themselves with the changing demographics that they said would make it impossible for a Republican to win the top job.

Donald Trump punctured that belief in stunning fashion last week, sending Democratic voters scrambling to make sense of their losses and igniting a new battle for the party's soul that promises to last for months.

"We have to take the time to figure out what happened," said Jim Manley, a senior Democratic strategist and director at QGA Public Affairs who said Democrats knew their grip on Congress was tenuous, but were stunned by losing the presidency. "It's obviously much more than cyclical. Something went wrong and we need to figure out what it is and how to stop it."

In the near term, some Democrats are vowing massive resistance to anything Mr. Trump proposes, saying he is an incorrigible racist. Others counsel that their path to power is to hold true to liberal principles while finding places to cooperate with Mr. Trump.

Four to plead guilty in Eastern Shore prison smuggling case

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 10:30 AM PST

Four defendants in a sprawling racketeering case at Maryland's largest prison have agreed to plead guilty for their roles, court records show.

The guilty pleas come just one month after the massive case was unsealed. Eighty people, including 18 corrections officers, were charged in the investigation, which found widespread drug smuggling inside the Eastern Correctional Institution, a medium-security prison on the Eastern Shore.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Leo J. Wise wrote in a status update to the court on Nov. 10 that the government was in the process of providing discovery to defendants and their attorneys. Four defendants had already signed plea agreements, he said, while others wanted to discuss the possibility.

Striped Bass Poachers Charged

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 10:15 AM PST

Officers on overnight surveillance in Dorchester County Friday and Saturday caught six recreational anglers poaching striped bass.

On Friday, officers saw two men catching fish near Fishing Creek Bridge and stopped their vehicle as they drove away. Inside, they found 86 undersized striped bass.

Martin Majano, 41, of Walkersville and Jose Osmar Martinez Gonzales, 44, of Gaithersburg, were each charged with keeping undersized striped bass and keeping striped bass under the legal minimum size of 20 inches.

Both men must appear in Dorchester County District Court. Their court date is Jan. 18. The maximum penalty for each man is $3,000.

On Saturday, four people were charged with illegal fishing in the same area after officers stopped their vehicle and found six fish inside.

Lila Del Carmen Hernandez, 54, of Washington, D.C., Idalia Elizabeth Hernandez, 30 and Roberto Carlos Fuentes Joya, 28, both of Beltsville and Jose Maria Hernandez Alberto, 54, of Silver Spring, were each charged with keeping undersized fish, exceeding the daily creel limit and keeping striped bass between midnight and 5 a.m.

They all are scheduled to appear in Dorchester County District Court Feb. 15, where they could be fined as much as $1,500 for each offense.

###

Five Montgomery County men were charged with poaching striped bass Thursday by officers on overnight patrol in Kent Narrows.

The men, aboard a recreational boat, were stopped as they returned to the public boat ramp on Kent Island. A search found 17 fish, 16 of them under the legal minimum size of 20 inches, hidden away. The largest and only legal striped bass was 20 1/2 inches and the smallest was 12 1/4 inches.

Silver Spring residents Evaristo Hernandez-Ortiz, 44; Gilberto Anibal Contreras, 33; Juan Cristino Jonguitud, 36; and Rene Alexis Salvador, 28, and Rockville resident Carlos Mario Sanchez, 28, each were charged with keeping undersized striped bass, exceeding the daily creel limit and keeping striped bass between midnight and 5 a.m.

If the five men choose to plead guilty and pay their fines in advance of their Queen Anne's County District Court date, their combined penalties will total $2,025. If they go to court and are found guilty, they could be fined a maximum of $1,000 per offense.

Obama Administration Gives up on Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 09:53 AM PST

Donald Trump's victory in Tuesday's presidential election has prompted President Barack Obama to abandon the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement, the Wall Street Journal reported late Friday.

According to the Journal, the White House had hoped to push the deal forward in the lame-duck session of Congress, assuming Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton had won the election. Her loss has already changed the political landscape:

Just days after Donald Trump surprise victory, U.S. officials said Republican congressional leaders had made clear that they wouldn't consider the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership in the remainder of Mr. Obama's term. The White House had lobbied hard for months in the hope of moving forward on the pact if the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, had won.

Hillary Clinton's advisors blame US election loss on the FBI and the media

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 09:45 AM PST

Advisors to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign who believe victory was snatched away from the former secretary of state have begun airing their grievances, pointing the finger at FBI Director James Comey for releasing a bombshell letter about Clinton's emails just 11 days before the election.

'We know that in the midst of the heartbreak and sadness everyone feels, we're starting to look for some answers as to what happened,' wrote Navin Nayak, head of Clinton's opinion research division in the first insider printed analysis to see daylight.

'We believe that we lost this election in the last week. Comey's letter in the last 11 days of the election both helped depress our turnout and also drove away some of our critical support among college-educated white voters—particularly in the suburbs,' he wrote in a letter obtained by Politico.

GOP Rep: Paul Ryan ‘Does Not Have My Vote'; Trump Gave Congress a Mandate, Ryan Gave a ‘Constitutional Crisis’

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 09:37 AM PST

Republican Congressman Thomas Massie says Speaker Paul Ryan does not presently have his vote for House Speaker. Massie further indicated that if no conservative steps up to run to fill Ryan's job, he'd be open to doing it himself.

"We need change," Massie explained. "If it came to that, I would do it."

"In just a few days [November 15th] there'll be the nomination, and the constitutional election will happen on January 3rd. Presently Paul Ryan does not have my vote," Massie said in a podcast with Reason's Nick Gillespie.

Md. regulators OK Pepco rate increase, 1st since merger

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 09:30 AM PST

WASHINGTON — Maryland regulators have rejected a Pepco rate change that would have increased residential customer rates as much as 10 percent agreeing to a smaller increase instead.

The Maryland Public Service Commission approved the partial rate increase for Pepco on Tuesday. The distribution rate change will increase the average residential bill about $7 a month, an increase of almost 5 percent.

The commission also denied the power company's request to extend a surcharge for its grid resiliency program, which will be eliminated from customers' bills. The charge was added to help the utility improve reliability and safety following the 2012 Derecho that left much of the D.C. regions without power – some areas for days.

Pepco had sought to increase bills for residential customers about $15.80 a month, which would have generated about $127 million in additional revenue for the power company.

Anti-Trump Protests Funded By Left-Wing 'Charity'

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 09:23 AM PST

A left-wing charity organization with unknown sources of money is providing the funding for protests around the country — some of which have turned into violent riots — that have threatened a divided nation's ability to unify after a contentious presidential election.

The Progress Unity Fund is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization — the same classification as the Red Cross. The group's mission is to "provide a progressive alternative to mainstream charities," according to its IRS filings.

The fund provides the financial backing for Act Now To Stop War & End Racism (ANSWER) Coalition, a left-wing activist group that began organizing "emergency protests" immediately after Trump's election.

Cities where ANSWER held protests included: Chicago, New York, DC and San Francisco, among others.

Hunting, Fishing Recognized as Constitutional Rights in Kansas, Indiana

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 09:15 AM PST

While Donald Trump was winning the day nationally on November 8, voters in Kansas and Indiana were enshrining that hunting and fishing are constitutional rights.

The Wichita Eagle reports that an overwhelming majority of voters supported amending the Kansas constitution to include a right to hunt and fish. The push to do so arose after lawmakers watched anti-hunting activists in other states use lawsuits to diminish hunting or do away with certain hunts altogether.

State Representative Adam Lusker (D-Frontenac) pushed the amendment, which he described as a "pre-emptive move." He "pointed to a recent lawsuit filed by a California-based animal rights group to stop a western Kansas coyote hunting contest as proof that hunting needs as much protection as possible."

Kansas' right to hunt and fish amendment protects the right to trap, too.

Hillary Is The Swamp, Trump Must Take Her Down

Time will tell if Donald keeps his word on prosecuting Hillary Clinton

While the enraged minions feeding from the trough of the New World Order plantation disrupt the restoration of the American Republic, 'assassinate Donald Trump' threats go viral on Twitter.

Despite this, Donald Trump accepts his rightful position as the 45th President-Elect of the United States of America.

Hillary and company sit in limbo, impossibly rallying faithless electors to throw the Electoral College's vote as the pressure of all of her crimes bubbles to the surface of a bog of corruption.

President elect Donald Trump mentioned numerous times that he would assign a special prosecutor to wade into to handle Hillary's five FBI Investigations.

A Record 25% Of Used Car Trade-Ins Are Underwater

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 09:00 AM PST

We have frequently written about the unsustainable trends in new car sales in the United States created by the combination of lower rates, loosening underwriting standards and voracious demand for new securitizations by wall street and pension funds that will do just about anything for an extra 20bps of yield.

Today, we find that Edmunds' "Q3 2016 Used Vehicle Market Report" reveals that many of the same problems also afflict the used auto market. The most startling takeaway from the report is that the percentage of used cars being traded in with negative equity values continues to spike and currently stands at an all-time high 25%. Moreover, the average balance of the negative equity also continues to rise and stood at $3,635 for Q3 2016, up from roughly $2,750 in Q3 2011.

Some 900 Students Spruce Up Area During 'I Love Salisbury'

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 08:30 AM PST

SALISBURY, MD---Some 900 Salisbury University students from 60 campus organizations recently helped spruce up public, private and non-profit properties during the SU Student Government Association's ninth annual "I Love Salisbury" community cleanup event Saturday, November 12.

They fulfilled requests for yardwork and more at nearly 50 Salisbury sites such as Asbury United Methodist Church; several area parks, including Schumaker; and the campus, including the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art; as well as private residences in surrounding neighborhoods.

"We saw a record number of student volunteers at this year's event, which united our students with each other and with the community," said Dr. Dane Foust, vice president of student affairs. "The fact that so many would get up early on a weekend and give up a large part of their Saturday to make the community a cleaner place speaks to their dedication to civic engagement and their pride as Sea Gulls. Our thanks go out to the SGA for organizing the 'I Love Salisbury' program and to the campus community for making it reality."

2 men get life sentences for killing off-duty N.J. corrections officer

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 08:15 AM PST

TRENTON – Late on a November night four years ago, Maurice Skillman stood in a parking lot and fired 22 shots at a balcony above, fatally hitting off-duty corrections officer Carl Batie, 26, in the forehead.

His accomplice, Hykeem Tucker, stood nearby.

Though the men – now 30 and 29-years-old, respectively – played different roles in the fatal attack, they faced the same fate Friday morning – life in prison.

Superior Court Judge Andrew Smithson handed down the sentence Friday after remarking on the brutality of the crime and saying he hoped the life sentence would be a wakeup for the community.

"It seems every time we turn around there is another shooting," Smithson said.

Report: Hillary Became "Physically Violent" After She Realized She Had Lost the Election

Clinton had to be "briefly restrained" after trying to attack her own campaign staff

Hillary Clinton reportedly became "physically violent" towards her own campaign staff after she realized she had lost the presidential election, according to radio host Todd Kincannon.
"CNN reporter tells me Hillary became physically violent towards Robby Mook and John Podesta around midnight; had to be briefly restrained," tweeted Kincannon.
It was Podesta who was sent out to talk to Hillary's dejected supporters shortly before Hillary called Donald Trump to concede, with Clinton nowhere to be seen until the following day.

Stunner! Trump cites 10th Amendment in agenda

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 07:45 AM PST

'Many areas of governance are left to the people and the states'

Nothing about Donald Trump's candidacy for the presidency was normal. After all, he defeated more than a dozen recognized names in the Republican Party – even after he refused to promise he would support the GOP candidate if it wasn't him.

Nor was his stunning-to-many election victory over Hillary Clinton, an icon of one of the most powerful political families in the nation, routine. He won states that Republicans had not won in decades.

Now, it appears his tenure in the Oval Office will venture from the mainstream, but probably in a good way.

A constitutional way.

On a new website his transition team has created, he's advocating for the 10th Amendment, the provision in the U.S. Constitution cited often by conservatives who believe the federal government has usurped rights the Founders meant for the states.

Under his plan to "make America great again," he addresses constitutional rights.

"Donald Trump understands the solemn duty that comes from the oath of office – swearing to 'preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.' He embraces the fact that the reason the Founders of this nation decided to adopt a written Constitution as the supreme law of the land for the first time in world history was to create a democratic form of government in which ordinary people would know the powers of government and the rights of the people. That is why the Constitution's 4,400 words were written in a way that ordinary Americans would read and understand them, and use a standard to hold public officials accountable."

Hate-Fueled Crimes Up in Maryland

There was a swastika with the words white power scrawled next to it found over the weekend. On Election Day, Black Lives Matter signs at a Towson church were defaced. Graffiti reading "whites only, Trump nation" defaced a church in Silver Spring.

In York, Pennsylvania a high school student shouted white power in the hallway. Donald Trump supporters in Chicago and Towson have been attacked. In California, Muslims have been assaulted.

Subject: DNC Chair

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 07:12 AM PST

On November 8, the Democratic party and our country suffered a major setback. Now more than ever, we need to listen to one another and work to repair what has been torn apart.

While I'm grateful to the supportive friends who have urged me to consider running for DNC Chair, I will not be seeking our Party's Chairmanship. The DNC needs a Chair who can do the job fully and with total impartiality. The national interest must come first.

In the days ahead, my family and I will continue to do everything in our power to fight for the Democratic Party, and for the more compassionate and inclusive country that we carry in our hearts.

Alan Dershowitz Defends Steve Bannon: ‘Not Legitimate To Call Somebody An Anti-Semite Because You Disagree With Their Policies’

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 07:00 AM PST

TEL AVIV – Alan Dershowitz, a staunch Democrat and emeritus law professor at Harvard University, is hitting back against the smears claiming White House appointee Steve Bannon is anti-Semitic, arguing it is "not legitimate to call somebody an anti-Semite because you might disagree with their policies."

Speaking in an interview with this reporter, Dershowitz stated:

I think we have to be very careful before we accuse any particular individual of being an anti-Semite. The evidence certainly suggests that Mr. Bannon has very good relationships with individual Jews. My former researcher, Joel Pollak, is an Orthodox Jew who takes off the Jewish holidays, who is a committed Jew and a committed Zionist, and he has worked closely with him. He has been supportive of Israel.

So, I haven't seen any evidence of personal anti-Semitism on the part of Bannon. I think the (Breitbart) headline about a Conservative Republican being a renegade Jew was ill-advised. But it doesn't suggest to me anti-Semitism. It suggests to me a degree of carelessness.

The Clintons and a long goodbye to Arkansas

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 06:53 AM PST

This has been a bad year for dreams of dynasties. The Bush dynasty has been dismantled with Jeb, who was the first favored son, writing finis to the family dream of a trifecta.

Hillary Clinton, who started plotting her path to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. when she was a law student at Yale, took a detour through Arkansas and if she still wants to be a president will have to settle for Wellesley, or Smith or one of the other Seven Sisters. But it won't be anything in Arkansas.

Even with her borrowed family name, her brief but famous law practice in Little Rock and other ties to the state, her election day was particularly dismal in Arkansas. She won just under 34 percent of the popular vote, winning only eight of the state's 75 counties. She won the vote in Little Rock and surrounding Pulaski County, still a stronghold of what passes for liberalism in Arkansas, and a handful of Delta counties along the Mississippi River, which are predominantly black. The Delta, the most prosperous region of the state only a generation ago, has been hollowed out by the flight of blacks to Chicago and white landowners to retirement elsewhere.

Who's Behind The Portland Riots? 60% Of Arrested Anti-Trump Protesters Were From Out Of State, Didn't Vote

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 06:37 AM PST

Two months ago, Charlotte police confirmed that 70% of those arrested during the riots were from out-of-state. 18 months before that, as the riots flared in Ferguson, George Soros spurred the protest movement through years of funding and mobilizing groups across the U.S., according to financial records reviewed by The Washington Times. And now, amid more headlines of Soros' involvement, KGW reports that more than half of the anti-Trump protesters arrested in Portland were from out of state.

At least sixty-nine demonstrators either didn't turn in a ballot or weren't registered to vote in the state.

KGW compiled a list of the 112 people arrested by the Portland Police Bureau during recent protests. Those names and ages, provided by police, were then compared to state voter logs by Multnomah County Elections officials.

Records show 34 of the protesters arrested didn't return a ballot for the November 8 election. Thirty-five of the demonstrators taken into custody weren't registered to vote in Oregon.

Twenty-five protesters who were arrested did vote.

KGW is still working to verify voting records for the remaining 17 protesters who were arrested.

In other words over 60% of the arrested protesters in Portland were not local voters dismayed by the election of Donald Trump.

AMERICA'S Defcon warning level has been reduced to its safest threat level possible following Donald Trump's shock presidential election win.

The Defcon Warning System, a private organisation which monitors world events and estimates the nuclear threat against America, is now at Level 5 - its lowest possible state.

Just weeks ago the warning was accelerated to Level 3 following increased tensions between US and Russia, with insiders fearing the West was creeping closer to nuclear war.

Level 3 means US troops could be mobilized in as little as 15 minutes.

SANCTUARY COUNTRY FOR AMERICANS

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 06:00 AM PST

Enough already. Sanctuary cities fly in the face of settled United States law and the Constitution. The very party that is filled with atheists and religious mockers, uses religion as a way of justifying sanctuary cities. They often say it's the "Christian" thing to do, when they oppose pro-life laws because they're rooted primarily in religious beliefs. Talk about hypocrites!

The country, which has a right to borders, and the president who has a Constitutional DUTY to protect those borders has been let down since at least the Johnson Administration. Even Ronald Reagan danced with the devil on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. In fact, it has turned into a most unarmed invasion of the country. To be fair, the Republicans bear as much responsibility for this as the Democrats. How you ask? Why you ask? Money. Plain and simple, money.

The Obama Administration had a Democrat controlled House and Senate his first two years in office. He PROMISED Latinos and Hispanics that he would immediately work on Immigration Reform. We all knew that was a lie. There's too much money in keeping things status quo. This is where President-Elect Donald J Trump can bring law and sovereignty back to the United States and its citizens.

And as for citizens...Tonight on a Cable network, the mayor of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Javier Gonzalez, said that his sanctuary city is protecting citizens from the federal government and allows them to come out of the shadows. ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE NOT CITIZENS. They are lawbreakers by virtue of crossing the border illegally. I'm not here to suggest that those south of the border should be blocked from immigrating LEGALLY. Not at all. But we must enforce immigration laws. The Democrats don't want to because unlike Republicans, they make long-term plans. It isn't just about this election cycle. Eventually, they will, given the opportunity, legalize the illegals and then put them on an easy path to citizenship and the vote.

Legal immigrants who go through the process and become citizens SHOULD have the right to vote. So let's look briefly at sanctuary cities and what the new President can do. First of all, pass Kate's law. Symbolic or not, an illegal alien, a Mexican A Mexican illegal alien who had been deorted five times previously allegedly used a stolen federal agent's gun to shoot Kate Steinle dead as she walked arm and arm with her father on July 16, 2015 along a San Francisco pier14. The last words her father hear her speak were..."Help me, Dad."

Kate Steinle didn't have sanctuary. She was a U.S. Citizen who's life should not have been at risk to be taken by a violent 5 time deportee regardless of his country of origin.

So back to what I suggest and hope Mr Trump will do...Deny funding to any city that is a sanctuary city. This includes Rahm Emmanuel's Chicago. And Los Angeles. And San Francisco, and Santa Fe et al. Then to add teeth to it, any state distributing money to a sanctuary city should also lose its federal funding. This can be done through budget reconciliation thus beating back any anti-American Democrat resistance.

Next, since Mr Trump at his base is a pragmatist. Seeking out and deporting violent ILLEGAL ALIENS, should be his next step...but deporting those without a criminal record, save for ONE border crossing, he needs to be his pragmatistic self. Like it or not, they have become part of the economy. More of them pay taxes than you know, using fake I.D. Stealing Social Security numbers. Creating administrative havoc. The president-elect needs to work with the leadership on both sides of the aisle for REAL immigration reform. Not to get mired down in the specifics, it should include buying legality through an annual fine for each year they have been here against the law. I should think a reasonable amount would be $1,200 a year for each year.

Then the illegal should be required to go through a vetting process similar to being on parole. Screw up, get jailed for your crime and then deported. If you miss your immigration parole officer appointment, then you get 30 days and a bus ride back to the border, or a plane ride depending on the nation of origin. I think you get the general idea, but what they should NEVER have is a pathway to citizenship, unless they serve in the military. Then citizenship should be granted at the end of their enlistment.

If the $1,200 annual fine is an actual hardship, then labor for the government, city, state or federal, could be substituted at 4 times the amount. It would invest the ILLEGAL in the country and that would make them more likely to assimilate as well.

Notice that my suggestions have been primarily economic. There is a reason. You've heard it said; "Follow the money." It's sadly a truism. But it would solve many of the issues.

One other thing. An ILLEGAL ALIEN pulled over by the police, and discovered to be illegal should be reported to ICE. ICE should immediately get a subpoena to hold the ILLEGAL ALIEN until ICE can pick them up. If the sanctuary city politicians and law enforcement release them before the ICE agents can arrive, as happened in San Francisco, then they should be arrested and do time once convicted. I should think 5 years would be enough of a deterrent.

Our citizenship was easily obtained by a stroke of luck of birth and geography. It's easy to feel compassion for others not so fortunate. Such is our society. But for our mutual protection, we need more that simply following our feelings.

What do you think? What steps do you think President Trump should take?

A Viewer Writes: President Elect

I was very surprised to read about grief counseling being offered to students at Salisbury University. Welcome to the real world and get out of your bubble.

I was even more surprised to have had a dental appointment this week and was told I could not change the channel on the tv in my treatment room because the staff was told no politics on tv.
Obviously he is a Clinton supporter. Put your big boy pants on and have your temper tantrum at home by yourself in your corner. I pay for services in this office and have never been told I could not change the channel. If it bothers you that much the 5 minutes you may be in the room with me, then turn off all the tv's. They are for the patients and not the staff right? So you don't like the end result...grow up and don't punish others for their opinions.

It just goes to show that a professional is willing to drive a wedge between himself and his patients instead of being accepting of the outcome. With this behavior, things will never change. I regret now not insisting on watching what I wanted too.

Is a Hillary pardon on Obama’s home stretch?

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 05:30 AM PST

Americans also signing petition to monitor every executive action
It probably wouldn't even have been on the table for discussion if Hillary Clinton had won the presidency, but on Wednesday, only hours after she conceded the 2016 race to Republican Donald Trump, there were discussions appearing online about the possibility of President Obama pardoning Hillary Clinton.

Amid FBI probes of Clinton's handling of classified information and pay-for-play by the Clinton Foundation, Trump, now the president-elect, has insisted she be held accountable.

Having been given a pass for her "extremely careless" handling of national security secrets while secretary of state, it would seem unlikely she would face additional scrutiny if she had won the White House.

But under a law-and-order, build-a-border-wall President Donald Trump, it could be another matter entirely.

Which apparently is what prompted the Washington Times to note, "The White House refused to rule out Wednesday whether President Obama might grant a pardon to Hillary Clinton to spare her from President-elect Donald Trump prosecuting her after he takes office."

BREAKING : Trump Supporters Push Failing “Fake News” Outlet CNN to the Brink of Implosion

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 05:15 AM PST

We have a dishonest North Korea-style, government-run, propaganda media that exists to be the far left-wing of the globalist movement.

They are a methodical machine that pumps out a constant stream of ideological garbage disguised as "unbiased" news.

One of the biggest offenders is CNN.

Not only are they an agenda-driven shill machine, but thanks to Wikileaks we also know that they're colluding with the DNC and Democrat candidates.

They're a shameless FRAUD.

And these idiots have the audacity to report on, and be "outraged" by so-called "fake news," and went so far as to attack Truthfeed – claiming we are liars who helped "influence" the election outcome.

Exit Polls: Donald Trump Beats Mitt Romney, Wins More Support Among Minorities

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 05:00 AM PST

Donald Trump outperformed Gov. Mitt Romney's ballot-box support from African-Americans and Latinos.

Exit polls collected by CNN show Trump won at least 29 percent of the Latino vote in 2016, while Romney won only 27 percent in in 2012. The polls also show Trump won at least 8 percent of the African-American vote, while Romney won only 6 percent.

That's a huge increase given the establishment's hostility directed at Trump, and it also contradicts the pro-amnesty claims made in business-backed GOP reports after Romney's failed 2012 run.

The GOP's so-called autopsy report — which was drafted, reviewed and reshaped by hundreds of business-funded consultants, lobbyists and pollster, declared:

among the steps Republicans take in the Hispanic community and beyond, we must embrace and champion comprehensive immigration reform. If we do not, our Party's appeal will continue to shrink to its core constituencies only. We also believe that comprehensive immigration reform is consistent with Republican economic policies that promote job growth and opportunity for all.

Ex-DOJ official: Hillary emails need special prosecutor

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 04:00 AM PST

'There should be such an outcry that she has no choice'

While the nation focuses on the 2016 elections, the frustration over FBI Director Jim Comey's handling of the Hillary Clinton server investigation still rages, now with calls for a different person to spearhead the probe.

"Do you know what it's time for? A special counsel," said former Deputy Assistant Attorney General Victoria Toensing, who is also a former federal prosecutor.

Toensing notes that such a move must come from the U.S. attorney general. And while Loretta Lynch has reportedly hindered the FBI's investigation into Clinton, Toensing says public pressure can accomplish big things.

"There should be such an outcry that she has no choice," said Toensing, who believes the push for a special prosecutor could be bipartisan.

"Republicans and Democrats alike should welcome a special counsel," she said.

Simmons graduates from Certified Sports Event Executive program

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 03:30 AM PST

Salisbury, MD – Wicomico County's assistant tourism manager has earned the title of Certified Sports Event Executive.

James Simmons was among the Fall 2016 graduates of the National Association of Sports Commissions' CSEE program. The National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC) is the nonprofit trade association serving the sport tourism industry.

As assistant tourism manager, Simmons' primary responsibilities include attracting and retaining sports events, providing event coordination services and consultation to event organizers, and hosting and managing in-house events.

The CSEE credential is the sport tourism industry's only certification available for serious-minded professionals. To earn the designation, participants must complete 32 hours of coursework focused on the topics of strategic planning, sales and marketing, sports event management, the bid process and more.

"Our graduates have worked diligently over the past several years to earn this designation. They join an elite group of serious-minded sport tourism professionals dedicated to elevating our industry," said Don Schumacher, CSEE, executive director of the NASC.

Chaffetz: Investigation into Clinton's email server will continue

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 03:00 AM PST

The Republican-led House Oversight and Government Reform Committee said Wednesday it will continue its investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state, although the Democratic nominee did not win the election.

"It would be totally remiss of us to dismiss [the email investigation] because she's not going to be president," Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz told the Washington Post on Wednesday. "I still have a duty and obligation to get to the truth about one of the largest breaches of security at the State Department... Tens of thousands of documents still have not been turned over to Congress."

Clinton's final two weeks on the campaign trail were spent playing defense after FBI Director James Comey said on Oct. 28 the federal agency had opened a new probe to learn more about the tens of thousands of her emails that were found on the computer of top aide Huma Abedin's estranged husband, Anthony Weiner. Comey then told Congress on Sunday that the agency did not find anything in the emails that would warrant charges against Clinton.

Chaffetz remained adamant Wednesday that Clinton's future life as a private citizen does not erase the mistakes she has made while serving as a government servant. The first-term committee chairman said he has a "duty" to continue his team's investigation into Clinton.

Rudy Giuliani Addresses Hillary Pardon - "President Obama Should Leave It To The System"

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 02:30 AM PST

Rudy Giuliani, the man that many believe Trump will tap for Attorney General, walked a very fine line this morning in responding to a question about whether or not the Obama administration should pardon Hillary Clinton for her numerous alleged crimes. While noting the obvious intricacies around potentially prosecuted a former political foe, Giuliani noted that"there are deep and disturbing issues there" and that "President Obama should leave it to the system that we all believe in to determine, is she innocent or is she guilty." Per The Hill:

"I don't like to see America become a country in which we prosecute people, you know, about politics. On the other hand, there are deep and disturbing issues there in which if you don't investigate them -- "

"That's why I don't think President Obama should pardon her," Giuliani added. "I think President Obama should leave it to the system that we all believe in to determine, is she innocent or is she guilty?"

Giuliani added that declining to probe the Clinton Foundation's questionable finances could set a poor precedent for similar investigations.

"It's hard to investigate other people," said Giuliani.

"What do you say to a foundation where you have a fraud of $50,000 when you haven't looked at a foundation of where there is an alleged fraud in the millions or hundreds of millions of dollars? Now, it may be true that it's not true. But it hasn't been investigated."

Here is Giuliani's full interview on Fox News this morning (fast forward to the 4:20 mark for the Clinton Foundation question):

The Math: Trump 2016 Would've Beaten Obama 2012

UPDATE: Mea Culpa.

Here's what happened: I used the New York Times vote-record database for the numbers in this post. This was a matter of convenience; I had already been using the NYT database because of its excellent interactive feature, which allows you to scroll over counties in any state color-coded indicators of partisan margin as well as raw vote totals. Here's the problem: The NYT database doesn't have the correct numbers in some states. Here are screenshots from the NYT that show the numbers I used:

Passerby shoots, kills motorist assaulting deputy after traffic stop

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 01:30 AM PST

A driver who attacked a Florida sheriff's deputy Monday morning was shot and killed by a bystander who warned him to stop beating the officer, according to a report.

The incident began at around 9:30 a.m. when the Lee County deputy tried to make a traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Estero. Instead of complying, witnesses said the driver took off, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.

The deputy chased the suspect onto an exit ramp, where a witness said the suspect got out of his car and assaulted his pursuer.

Shanta Holditch told WZVN that the suspect pulled the deputy out of his car and "just kept beating him and beating him ... throwing him to the ground and punching him in all different directions."

At that point, WINK reported, another driver got out of his car and ran to the scene. He told the suspect that he'd shoot him if he didn't stop beating the deputy.

"[He] refused to get off the officer and the officer kept yelling, 'shoot him, shoot him, shoot him,' Holditch said.

Open Letter To All Of The Whiny Safe Space Liberals Crying Over Our ‘Racist’ And ‘Sexist’ Country

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 01:00 AM PST

The first half of last night was stressful. I could barely eat. Stupid Florida, always keeping us on the edge of our seats. I switched my networks around last night. I mostly relied on Fox News and Twitter. CNN wasn't calling states as fast, and MSNBC is a last resort kind of thing. I vowed to stay away from that channel, UNLESS things started shaping up for Donald Trump.

Then the results started coming in. Flyover nation. North Carolina. Ohio. Florida? Wisconsin?!!! That's when the wheels started falling off their wagon. That's when I started thinking about Hillary Clinton's defeat. I never really allowed myself to go there before. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but my country came through. We the People are not stupid.

We the People defeated MSM. We the People defeated the establishment. We the People saved the Supreme Court. We the People rejected the power-hungry, seahag criminal in a pantsuit.

After they announced Wisconsin, commentators started to change their tune. They looked visibly nervous. Eventually, Mockarena told me it was safe to flip to MSNBC, and it was hysterical. I thought Rachel Maddow's face was going to fall off. I flipped back to Fox News. Juan Williams practically peed himself. I watched the cheese slide off his crackers in real time. It was something.

Schweizer: Clinton Investigation Must Continue to Ensure It Won't Be 'Imitated By Other Politicians'

Posted: 16 Nov 2016 12:00 AM PST

Thursday on Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends," Breitbart editor at large Peter Schweizer, author of "Clinton Cash," argued that the investigation into improprities regarding Bill and Hillary Clinton and their charitable organization the Clinton Foundation must go on even though Hillary Clinton had come up short in her bid to be president earlier this week.

"I think I have said and a lot of people have said from the beginning this is not about politics – this is about rule of law and whether she wins or loses, we still have to enforce the law and see if laws were broken," Schweizer said.

He added if it isn't properly dealt with, it could be a model for other politicians.

Anti-Trump Protest Buses Caught On Tape in Chicago

Posted: 15 Nov 2016 11:00 PM PST

Earlier we showed that, contrary to USA Today's claims that the anti-Trump protests across the nation are "spontaneous, involving people from all walks of life", according to Wikileaks documents at least two of the people profiled by USA Today have a history of being professional agitators for the Democrat party, whose task is to stir up popular protests and - in extreme cases - unleash rioting, such as the following clip showing the latest day of violent protests in Portland revealed.

Police repeatedly charge anti-Trump protesters as Portland chaos continues https://t.co/h3Y24Ykb9h pic.twitter.com/vPPD10sQbw

— Ruptly (@Ruptly) November 13, 2016

Now we have visual confirmation of how a substantial portion of these professional, paid protesters arrive at the site of the protest, in this case Chicago.

As our reader notes, "I have a video of 5 city blocks on the West side of Chicago lined with busses from Wisconsin (Badger Bus Lines) bringing in protestors. The Sears tower is visible in the background."

Other arrived by train..
