Clinton leaves leaderless, rudderless and talentless Democratic Party in crisis - with only pensioners Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders to turn to

President Barack Obama hands over the White House to Republican Donald Trump in 71 days, leaving the Democratic Party leaderless and with few up-and-coming stars among its aging cast of stalwarts.

In what appeared to be a wave election, Republicans also secured majorities they already enjoyed in the Senate and the House and in governor's mansions and state legislatures across the country.

Democrats were all but wiped out in places like Iowa and Kentucky.

The defeat of Hillary Clinton, an experienced Washington politician who sought common ground with Republicans, could make it more likely that the party will turn to its liberal wing as it grapples with its future.

That's best represented by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, whom Clinton defeated in a long primary, and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, a pull-no-punches progressive darling.

Who Lost?

Who Lost: A Biased Media, Pundits, Pollsters, Political Parties, Warmongers, the Corporatocracy, Pay-to-Play Grifters, Neoliberals

Fake Progressives are perfectly fine with soaring inequality and corrupt governance, as long as everyone's public utterances are politically correct.

Sometimes who lost is more important than who won. Let's review who lost the election:

1. Let's start with the Corporatocracy, which expected to once again wield unlimited influence by funding political campaigns with millions of dollars in contributions and speaking fees.

2. A biased mainstream media. My mom-in-law was watching CBS all night, so that's what we watched. All the pundits/anchors spoke in the hushed tones of a funeral. For two hours, the only images of campaign workers shown were the sad faces of Clinton supporters; not one image of jubilant Trump supporters was broadcast until Trump gave his acceptance speech.

When one of the talking heads noted that Hillary never generated the enthusiasm of the Sanders or Trump campaigns, his comment was followed by a stony silence. That he had given voice to a self-evident truth was not welcome.

3. Mainstream punditry: they got it wrong from the start and remained close-minded and arrogant in their postured superiority.

The punditry applied a double standard to Trump and Hillary. Trump's speeches and ethically questionable history were judged by moral standards, and he was declared unfit.

Hillary's actions, on the other hand, were judged by strictly legalistic standards: well, you can't indict her, so she's fit for office.

Dear punditry: you can't use double standards to promote your biases and retain any shred of credibility.

Shoplifting arrest incites protests at College In Ohio

 Students of Oberlin College have taken their frustrations with a local business to the streets for the second day in a row as they protested Gibson's Food Mart and Bakery Nov. 11.

The incident that sparked the demonstrations occurred at 4:58 p.m. Nov. 9, when officers were dispatched to the bakery, 23 W. College St., for a report of a fight in progress involving a theft from the business, according to a police report.
 
Responding officers located an employee of the store on his back being punched and kicked by individuals kneeling over him. When officers were able to take control, they had apprehended a female, the report said.

According to the report, the employee and two witnesses advised police that while inside the store Jonathan Aladin, 19, had allegedly tried to conceal two bottles of wine underneath his shirt. When the employee informed Aladin that he was aware of the concealment and that the employee intended to call the police, Aladin attempted to leave.

The employee told police that he attempted to take a photo of Aladin's face, causing Aladin to strike the employee's phone, hitting the employee in the face. As the employee attempted to detain Aladin, he became violent; striking and grabbing the employee, the report said.

For those of you on the left I know it is hard. You are confused, bewildered and deeply, deeply saddened. Maybe even triggered. You probably missed work or school yesterday, called in sick or simply didn't get out of bed. That's ok though because your Indigenous Women's Studies prof said it was ok to skip the exam today. Everyone is getting an A as a morale builder. So cheer up.

But unfortunately that doesn't really explain anything. How did this happen? It wasn't supposed to happen. But it did. How could the polls be so wrong? What about the entire media? How?

Well, here are a few theories that might help you see where some of your mistakes were made. First, and probably foremost,is just good old fashioned hubris. The idea that "we can't be beat". Arrogance mixed with confirmation bias is a dangerous thing in any type of conflict; physical or otherwise. Just ask General Custer. Things didn't work out real well for him and for the same reasons.

This leads directly into another problem that often arises from hubris. That is: failing to understand your enemy.

It would interest you to know that I, the author of this piece, am not an American. That's right. I'm not a Yank. I don't reside in the USA and have no interest in doing so. That means, unlike my illegal immigrant counterparts currently residing in your nation, I didn't vote.

But like many who fall into the 'basket of deplorables' residing in the US I realized early on that the battle between Trump and Clinton was much more than simply a contest between two politicians for the presidency. At its core it was an ideological conflict between light and dark, truth and lies. It was a struggle for the heart of western civilization in general.

And while I've never considered myself much of a right winger, being more of a libertarian bent, I have found myself increasingly pushed and marginalized by the "enlightened and progressive" amongst you into the same camp with all sorts of deplorables, regardless of where they lived and what they called themselves. Nationalists, alt righters, anarchists, constitutionalists and so on and so forth all made for strange bedfellows but an effective team. Working on the premise that the enemy of my enemy is my friend we have all found common ground. We have you to thank for that. By pushing, badgering, harassing, marginalizing and insulting us on a regular basis you created something new. And it crushed you at the ballot box.

Voter Turnout Down In Worcester

BERLIN- In spite of heated campaigning by the candidates in this year's presidential race, voter turnout decreased in Worcester County.

Unofficial turnout numbers released by the Maryland State Board of Elections Thursday set Worcester County's voter turnout at 68.38 percent, down from the 76.64 percent of voters who turned out for the 2012 presidential election. In 2008, 80.45 percent of the county's eligible voters visited the polls.

While overall turnout may have been down, those campaigning at local polling locations saw plenty of excitement among those who did come to vote.

"We had an elderly woman voting for the first time and a young man in his 20s who came to tell us the same thing," said Elena McComas, secretary of the county's Republican Central Committee, who was at polls in Ocean Pines on Tuesday. "It seemed like everyone got involved which is special."

Donald Trump’s Win Wasn’t About Racism

Already, liberals are trying to push the narrative that Donald Trump's win was propelled by racist Americans.

"This is a candidate who ran on a clearly racist message, attracting people with clearly racist views. And he won," wrote Vox's German Lopez.

"This was a white-lash against a changing country," said CNN's Van Jones. "It was white-lash against a black president in part."

New York Times contributor Roxane Gay wrote about being "stunned" by the results: "I was confident, not only because of who Mrs. Clinton is. I was confident because I thought there were more Americans who believe in progress and equality than there were Americans who were racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, and homophobic."

But the facts show otherwise.

"Trump performed stronger among black and Hispanic voters than Mitt Romney did as the Republican nominee in 2012, according to NBC exit polls," NBC News reported.

"On average, the counties that voted for Obama twice and then flipped to support Trump were 81 percent white," reported The Washington Post, making it almost certain some of Trump's white voters were people who had voted for President Barack Obama—not exactly the hallmark trait of a racist.

As a New York Magazine headline put it: "Trump Won a Lot of White Working-Class Voters Who Backed Obama."

Another round of drawbridge work scheduled for Nov. 16

Fresh off a bit of routine maintenance of the Kelley bridge last month, the State Highway Administration will once again be working on the Route 50 drawbridge on Nov. 16.

The work is scheduled to be performed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and will require an indeterminate number of extra openings and closings of the bridge apparatus between those hours.

The additional openings of the bridge are not expected to exceed the time it usually takes to open or close the bridge.

Van Jones says: "Donald Trump's election was a white-lash". Unfortunately for Jones' narrative Romney won 59% of the white vote. Trump won 58%, so it wasn't a racial issue.

Feminist Democrat Leaders/Politicians blame gender bias against Hillary Clinton for Trump's election. Unfortunately for their narrative Obama won with 47% of women voters, Hillary Clinton only carried 43% of female voters – so it wasn't a gender issue.

However, both groups are on the street tonight marching in protest against Donald Trump's election.

The George Soros' funded Black Lives Matter group (Van Jones), and the raging left-wing feminist moonbats are joined by the Bernie Sanders Occupy Wall Street (OWS) anarchists.

Go figure…

It's actually a sad state of affairs to see these these oblivious sheeple marching around the streets of New York, Chicago, Seattle, Philadelphia and San Francisco in protest to the free and fair election result they lost.

Ben Carson Says He’ll Help Trump Replace Obamacare

Ben Carson said he would help President-elect Donald Trump construct a replacement to Obamacare.

"I think the replacement must obviously come first and it must be something that is very appealing and easy to understand," he told Politico Wednesday. "And then, only then, would you dismantle what's in place."

Carson declined to say whether he was being considered for a Cabinet position, but Politico reports that his name is being floated as a possible candidate for positions such as secretary of health and human services or secretary of education.

Trump campaigned on replacing Obamacare with a simpler, cheaper alternative that has less government regulation.

State Grant To Put Cameras On Ocean City Buses; Timing For 2017 Season Looks Unlikely

OCEAN CITY — Resort officials learned last week the Maryland Transit Authority (MTA) had approved a $500,000 grant for surveillance cameras for Ocean City's municipal buses, but it appears they won't be ready for the 2017 season.

During last week's Transportation Committee meeting, Public Works Director Hal Adkins told members the MTA had approved the town's requested fiscal year 2017 grant allocation for a variety of uses including a new state-of-the-art video surveillance camera system for the fleet of municipal buses. Last spring, the MTA recommended Ocean City move forward with implementing a transit surveillance system aboard its entire fleet, which currently includes 65 vehicles including ADA vans.

The MTA suggested as many as five or six cameras inside and out for the standard 40-foot buses and eight or nine for each of the two new articulating buses. Given the total numbers of vehicles in the resort's current fleet, the total number of cameras needed to fully outfit the buses would be around 400. However, while the MTA has included funding for the cameras in its fiscal year 2017 allocation for the cameras, it appears unlikely they would be ready for next season.

Trump transition battle underway

The stunning upset election of Donald Trump on Tuesday has set off a behind-the-scenes political battle inside the Trump transition team in Washington.

The battle is pitting conservative advisers against moderate Republicans. Both sides are working to take control of the incoming administration by arranging key appointments.

According to sources close to the transition team working in offices at 1717 Pennsylvania Ave., key aides to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are seeking to have Mr. Trump arrange the appointments of moderate Republicans, possibly including some of the more than 100 who signed a letter during the campaign vowing never to work for the New York businessman if he was elected president. Some of the former officials who opposed Mr. Trump are now recanting that involvement in the letter in hopes of getting a job in the new administration.

Mr. Trump has vowed that the Republican establishmentarians who opposed him will not get jobs in his administration.

The word from two sources outside the transition team but familiar with discussions is that Mr. Christie may be replaced as the leader of the transition by someone more in line with Mr. Trump's announced populist policies. The governor is under fire after convictions of two former aides in the traffic scandal dubbed Bridgegate.

Assateague Island Suspends Contraception Program With Hopes To Boost Horse Population

ASSATEAGUE — Following the birth of five foals on the Maryland side this year, National Park Service officials announced this week the trend could continue with none of the island's mares slated for the contraception program in the coming year.

The popular horses on Assateague are wild animals and generally left to the whims of nature. However, in the interest of maintaining a healthy population size, the National Park Service many years ago began a contraceptive program for the mares. In almost each year since, selected mares have been darted with a non-invasive contraceptive called PZP in an effort to maintain the size of the herd on the Maryland side in its manageable threshold.

As recently as just a few years ago, the size of the wild horse population on Assateague had swelled to 140, or well north of the target range of 80 to 100. However, with some losses due to old age, illness or other man-made and natural causes, the number of horses in the herd now stands at 88, or right in the middle of the target range. Currently, there are 66 mares and 22 stallions.

BERLIN–Ryan Pappas was on his way to brunch at Barn 34 when a flashy car in the parking lot caught his eye. He voiced his admiration to the vehicle's owner and asked what he'd done to end up with such a nice car.

Six months later, the 21-year-old Pappas is renovating a 15,000-square-foot facility and hiring as many as 80 employees for Electronic Transaction Systems (ETS). The internationally-known mobile technology company run by Ed Vaughan is taking over the former South Moon Under office in Berlin.

"If it was not for Ed and his philosophy and his roots at the beach, seeing the vast market of people we can help, and the vision he has to create good jobs for people, none of this would be happening," he said. "He's the visionary behind it all and we just happen to share the same vision."

It was Vaughan, the CEO of ETS, who Pappas met in the parking lot of Barn 34. Pappas says his interest in Vaughan's car turned into a two-hour discussion on mobile technology. Pappas, who'd already created his own company with that target in mind, discovered that Vaughan's ETS was a global leader in mobile payment technology.

Despondent Democrats Bring ‘Therapy Dogs’ to Capitol Hill After Trump Victory

Democratic staffers were so upset over the popular election of President Elect Donald Trump that "therapy dogs" were brought into the U.S. Capitol to soothe their hurt feelings.

Two golden doodles, two American Eskimo dogs, and a beagle mix were walked around the Cannon Office Building where many members of the House of Representatives have offices, according to NBC News.

In a press release the groups said, "the help of a non-judgmental, furry, four-legged best friend that enjoys bipartisan support."

A similar effort was mounted at the University of Massachusetts Boston, the Springfield News-Sun reported.

IRONY: Hillary Won Popular Vote Against Obama In 2008… Where Were The Protests Then?

The defeat of Hillary Clinton in spite of her getting the popular vote is nothing new, even though liberals opposed to a Trump presidency want you to believe this surprise overturn is unheard of.

In 2008, when Hillary Clinton ran against a political newcomer by the name of Barack Obama for the Democrat Primary nomination, Hillary won the popular vote with 17.8 million votes compared to Obama's 17.5 million votes.

She garnered 48.04% of the vote, and the eventual 44thPresident of the United States received only 47.31% of the vote.

So why wasn't Hillary the presumptive nominee for the Democrat Party? Hillary earned only 1,973 delegate votes compared to Obama's 2,285, and the delegates determined the election results, much the way the electoral college determines who will be the next President of the United States.

There were a lot of losers in this election, well beyond Hillary Clinton and the smug, incompetent pollsters and know-it-all, groupthink pundits who embarrassed themselves.

From hacked email troves we received a glimpse of the bankrupt values of Washington journalists, lawyers, politicians, lobbyists and wealthy donors. Despite their brand-name Ivy League degrees and 1 percenter resumes, dozens of the highly paid grandees who run our country and shape our news appear petty and spiteful — and clueless about the America that exists beyond their Beltway habitat.

Leveraging rich people for favors and money seems an obsession. They brag about wealth and status in the fashion of preteens.

Journalists often violated their own ethics codes during the campaign. Political analyst Donna Brazile even leaked debate topics to the Clinton team. Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank reportedly asked the Democratic National Committee to provide him with anti-Trump research.

Reading about the characters who inhabit the Clinton campaign email trove, one wonders about the purpose of their Yale degrees, their tenures at Goldman Sachs, even their very stints in the Clinton campaign. Was the end game to lose their souls?

One big loser is the Obama Justice Department — or rather the very concept of justice as administered by the present administration. It has gone the tainted way of the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Veterans Affairs and National Security Agency. The Justice Department clearly pressured the FBI to limit its investigation of pay-for-play corruption at the Clinton Foundation and the State Department.

(WAVY) — What is the Electoral College? It's a question that's been on the minds of voters since Tuesday's election results.

On Wednesday, Republican nominee Donald Trump was elected president by securing 279 electoral votes. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton won the popular vote.

It's the second time in less than 20 years a presidential candidate has won the popular vote, but lost the election because of the Electoral College.

Old Dominion University Assistant Professor of Political Science and Geography Joshua Zingher says the Founding Fathers of America created the system to help represent minority voters.

"Opposed to determining the winner of the presidential election by majority votes, who gets the most voters nationwide, we have 50 state level elections where the winner takes all," Zingher said.

O'Reilly: Anti-Trump Protesters 'Want Our System Destroyed'

Fox News' Bill O'Reilly lashed out Thursday night at anti-Donald Trump demonstrations that've erupted since his election, decrying what appears to be a "civil war brewing" and charging some demonstrators "want our system destroyed."

In the Talking Points Memo section of "The O'Reilly Factor," the conservative host drew the line between protesters and anarchists.

His remarks were posted on Mediaite.

"Here in the U.S.A., we honor protests, but increasingly we are seeing people who want our system destroyed," he said.

"If you believe Donald Trump is not good for America, I have have no problem with you displaying that opinion," he added. "However, if you hurt someone, destroy some thing, or promote anarchy, you then become a danger to the republic. That kind of stuff needs to be punished and quickly."

"Just because something offends you doesn't mean you have the right to hurt or destroy," he said. "The new president might want to make that very clear."

Mary Milton, a lifelong Democrat, grandmother, and woman of faith, says she experienced a fair share of criticism for her outspoken support for President-elect Donald Trump's candidacy.

"It's been African American people, it's been white people, it's been Hispanic people," Milton said, according to the Tallahassee Democrat.

The 60-something-year-old said she voted for President Obama in 2008 and in 2012, but now believes black people have been "let down" during his time in office.

"When we voted for Obama we pulled together, and he made a promise to all the people," she said.

"The people he let down was the African American people."

Milton said the black voters have been "thrown under the bus" by the Democratic Party — which is why she overcame her fear of reprisal for showing public support for Trump.

"We were afraid to tell people who our vote was really going for, but I know for a fact a lot of the African American votes went for Trump," Milton said.

On his radio show today he talked about the pitiful calls for unity that are coming from the defeated Democrats. He gets even more nervous when he hears Republicans saying and thinking the same thing. Elections have consequences. The Democrate candidate was defeated. The Democrat Party is in shambles. Rush Limbaugh feels that the calls for unity are a subterfuge to take away the power Republicans have won by winning the election. Not until he was 70 did Ocean Pines resident Barry Wright learn that his family was larger than he realized. That was this summer, when he was contacted by a previously unknown sibling.

Born in Bolton, England, Wright was brought to the U.S. as an infant in 1947 by his maternal grandmother, Ethel Wright, after her youngest child, Joan, bore him out of wedlock.

"I was brought over here by my grandmother, who gave me to her oldest son and his wife, who was the oldest brother of my mother," he said. "I was over here two years, got citizenship papers, and was adopted."

In 1955, Barry Wright visited England with his adoptive parents, Edwin and Mary Wright. At that point the family opted to keep the identity of his mother a secret.

"While we were over there, I met Joan and I was told she was my aunt," he said

He recalls being confused when his adoptive father and maternal grandmother argued about meeting "aunt" Joan, causing his grandmother to walk out of his life for good.

PepsiCo CEO: People Crying, Asking if They're Safe Under Trump

The head of PepsiCo said Thursday her employees are in tears over Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election, and people are asking if they'll be safe.

CEO Indra Nooyi, a supporter of Democrat Hillary Clinton, said she has fielded a lot of questions since Wednesday.

"I had to answer a lot of questions, from my daughters, from my employees, they were all in mourning," Nooyi said at a conference, reports CNBC. "Our employees are all crying, and the question that they are asking, especially those that are not white: 'Are we safe?' Women are asking, 'Are we safe?' LGBT people are asking, 'Are we safe?' I never thought I'd have had to answer those questions."

Advocates Ready for War to Save Obamacare

Defenders of President Barack Obama's universal health care program are vowing to wage "total war" to block Donald Trump and congressional Republicans from repealing the Affordable Care Act, Politico reports.

Known as Obamacare, the program covers 22 million people. But Trump repeatedly attacked it during the presidential campaign and vowed to repeal it.

"We've got the battle of our lifetime ahead of us," said Ron Pollack, executive director of advocacy group Families USA, reports Politico. "We're going to have a huge number of organizations from all across the country that will participate in this effort."

But the website notes the options for saving the controversial program are limited.

Advocates of the program are unable to prevent congressional Republicans from passing legislation targeting the law. And, Politico reports, once Trump takes office, he can use his executive powers to "block, change, or put on hold key elements" of the legislation.

Keith Ellison was early supporter of Sanders campaign

(The Hill) Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is endorsing Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota to be the next chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, was an early supporter of Sanders's Democratic primary bid.

The co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus has expressed interest in the DNC chairmanship for some time and according to a report from Politico, Ellison had previously reached out to Hillary Clinton campaign officials and state party chairmen.

Sanders told Minnesota Public Radio that he supports Ellison to fill the position of party chairman.

Trump celebrator cited for setting off cannon

KEIZER, Ore. (KOIN) – Police cited a man for disorderly conduct over his celebration of Donald J. Trump's presidential victory.

According to Keizer Police Sgt. Jeff Goodman, around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, emergency dispatchers received reports that a loud explosion had been heard all over town.

In the 5100 block of 7th Avenue Northeast, neighbors directed police to a house that had a large cloud of smoke overhead. When police arrived, people at the house were "very uncooperative," according to Goodman.

According to Goodman, Michael Dingle, the owner of the house, admitted he was happy Trump won so he decided to load cannon with gunpowder and set it off in celebration. Two other people were charged with hindering prosecution, according to police. Their names have not been released.

Match Up Shows Trump Would Have Beat Obama In Election

Tim Alberta wrote a piece for the National Review showing that in a hypothetical match-up between Donald Trump and Barack Obama, Trump would have won the election by a small margin.

Alberta argues that Clinton didn't lose because she failed to get the democratic base to show up, she lost because Trump was able to get Republican voters to show up in large numbers in key battleground states.

Clinton pulled about the same numbers as Obama in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, Nevada, and New Hampshire and even surpassed Obama's 2012 vote total in Florida, a state that Obama won.

In the 2012 election Obama received 6 million more votes than Trump did in 2016, but Trump received more votes than Obama in the battleground states.

The lawsuits remain important for evidence they may yet yield regarding allegations that the Clinton Foundation engaged in pay-to-play schemes facilitated in part or whole by the private email addresses and the home-brew server located in her New York home.

Chelsea Clinton being groomed to run for Congress

While some pundits are declaring the Clinton political dynasty dead, sources tell us that it is far from over. Chelsea Clinton is being groomed for the New York seat held by Rep. Nita Lowey.

Chelsea could run for the seat in NYC's 17th Congressional District once Lowey, a 79-year-old respected career politician with nearly 30 years in office, decides to retire, we have exclusively learned.

Lowey's district includes parts of Rockland and Westchester counties and, conveniently, Chappaqua, the Clinton family home base.
In August, Hillary and Bill Clinton purchased a home next door to their primary residence in Chappaqua for $1.16 million, which is intended for Chelsea, her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, and their two children, Charlotte and Aidan.

While Chelsea currently lives, and is registered to vote, in Manhattan, she could easily make Chappaqua her legal residence in order to run for Lowey's seat when it becomes vacant.

A Viewer Writes: Election Day

I spent Election Day exit-polling in a swampy, homely hole of a town called Crisfield, MD. It was an adventure.

As soon as I got to the polls, I met with several of the election judges and we discussed where I would set up. This time it was outside of the poll doors.

So I'm there, all set up, and out came one of the judges. He was a rat-faced old man with a bushy mustache and a long grey goatee. He was pissed off. I knew he had an attitude just by his gait. He confronted me, got right in my face, saying that ever since he'd been following Trump, he'd learned to hate the media. Pointing his finger in my face, he said "Do you understand? You're the media. I hate you!"

I mean, Yikes. Clearly this was a dude I had to keep an eye on. He left. But it wasn't for long. He was back in just an hour or so and the Chief Judge was with him. He was a roly-poly kind of guy, sporting a well trimmed mustache and a comb-over. "You have to move back," he said. "Why don't you move back to your truck."

Now, I was parked close to the entrance but it was well away from the polls. "No," I said. "I can't do that."

He insisted and threatened to call the cops. "Call the cops." I said. "I'll call the lawyers."

He called the cops. I called the lawyers.

While were waiting, the rat-faced judge is pointing off in the distance. "That's right," he yelled. "You're out of here. Get out of here right now."

I turned toward the chief and asked his name. He held up his ID card, which was on a chain around his neck. I shifted back to Rat Face and looked at his ID. And he took it in his hands, lifted it and smashed it onto my face. "I want you to know who I am. Can you see it now?" Actually, I couldn't, but I could see assault and battery. Meanwhile, the chief judge is standing there, just watching. He made no move to rein in his minion.

I bet some of you are holding your breath, thinking "oh, oh, Dave punched out an election judge." But nope. I'm proud /sorry to say I didn't hurt him. I was in journalism mode and I was locked onto the story. Nothing gets in the way of the story. Except this time I got an additional story. And I also have questions for the mayor, or whoever runs that stinking backwater town, and questions for state elections officials.

Canadian Suggests Five Northern Destinations for Depressed Clinton Supporters

Brian Hutchinson, a columnist for Canada's National Post, has written a helpful guide for Clinton supporters like Barbra Steisand who vowed to move to Canada if their candidate lost the presidential election.

The guide will help ensure that they do not get a nasty surprise when they arrive up north.

"Welcome, American refugees! Bienvenue à tous! Thank you for considering Canada as your next home," Hutchinson writes.

"Judging by the sudden level of interest you've shown in our country — you crashed our Citizenship and Immigration website last night, hours before Donald Trump delivered his victory speech — we expect millions of you to be crossing the border very soon."

In "Moving tips for Americans – Where you should go to avoid Canada's Trump-like regions," Hutchinson explains that "there are certain places in our great federation you might want to avoid.

"Southern Alberta, for example. It's a bit like Missouri, or Texas, or Oklahoma. You know, sort of…Trump-like. You'd arrive there, look around, and probably think you'd never left the mid-west."

Instead, Hutchison suggests that Clinton supporters check out these five non-Trump-like locales:

Ocean City writes $21K in fines for unlicensed rentals this year

The stricter policies and harsher fines attached to unlicensed rentals and overcrowded units seem to be having some effect, but the Ocean City Council is aiming for total compliance — and is considering what the next step is to get there.

During the Nov. 1 work Session, Planning and Zoning Director Bill Neville reported that several of the regulatory tools the City Council created this year, such as a new rental application for R-1 (single-family residential) properties, stricter enforcement of the maximum occupancy standard of 40 square feet per occupant in a bedroom with a closet credit, and a fine system, had resulted in improved compliance.

That's in great part to the outreach that was done earlier in the year with the seminar and meeting with some of the property owners early on, he said.

"Because we also made a big presentation about maximum occupancy, we had a lot of requests from older structures to conduct complimentary inspections," Neville told the council.

This is what I'm talking about. Every newspaper, and almost every news outlet tells us that voter ID laws are racially biased. This reporter, Ari Horowitz, proved his point quite well. Do you know a single person that doesn't have an ID??? Seriously, name one. Just one. Yet, we have proven accounts- on tape- of voter fraud by registered democrats. But we don't hear that in the Times, Post or on CNN. And I didn't buy the rigged machine bullshit until this year, when I saw how deep the corruption is in Washington. (Thank you wikileaks) I wouldn't put it past them.

Until people form their own opinions- without media influence, this divisiveness will never end. Just because I voted for Trump, does that make me a deplorable racist, sexist, homophobic hillbilly? Some of my best friends are black, my best clients are gay, my wife hyphenates her name. But Hillary and the media are trying to pain me/us that way. People need to respect the views of others- not make them feel guilty for thinking a certain way.

I didn't vote for Hillary for one main reason: because she has no ethics- she's as crooked as a snake, as all the Clintons are, and seriously broke several federal laws. If you or I did what she did, we would be in jail. Plain and simple. It would have been the same if she were a man. I didn't vote for Obama because of his economic views, which have already been proven wrong. He has done nothing to help our economy while tallying up 10 trillion in debt. That doesn't make me racist. It makes me a realist. I voted for Trump because he is the only one that has signed the FRONT of a paycheck and understands economics, both micro and macro. I also judge a man by how his kids turned out. His kids are very polite and accomplished and don't act like trust fund babies like Chelsea. He connected with Americans who are hurting after Obama has run this country into the ground. He has alienated our friends (Israel) and made friends with our enemies (Iran). How f'd up is that?

Did you know that this is the first generation who think that our children will be worse off than we are. Think about that. Why even procreate if we think our kids will inherit this shit. This is not a fluke. It's happened because so many people have given up on the country and those who are in power. White men are committing suicide at an alarming rate.

There, now you understand how many of us feel after so many years of the MSM telling us how stupid and bigoted we are. There obviously are more of us than previously thought.

I'm proud to have voted for our next president. Now it's his turn to make our country proud of him. Hopefully we can get something done for our country that I love so much, but has been run through the mud over the last 8 years. Most on the left are not even going to give him a chance.

Socialists join with Muslims to protest Trump presidency

A self-avowed Marxist member of the Seattle City Council who is part of the George Soros-funded Occupy Wall Street movement has called for a "massive protest" against President-elect Donald Trump and a "nationwide shut down" on Inauguration Day.

Kshama Sawant went on an anti-Trump rant following the election that stirred up progressives' emotions against Trump voters, calling them part of "a racist agenda."

Sawant held a press conference calling for a mass protest in Seattle. That protest was attended by students, members of Seattle's LGBTQ community, as well as Occupy members and Muslims.

One woman took the podium in a hijab and unleashed a profanity-laced tirade.

"I am told, 'do not wear the hijab or you will be targeted.' I say F— you!" she screamed into a megaphone.

THE OYSTER WARS

The history of the Oyster Wars goes back to 1785. In that year, Virginia held ownership to the entrance of the Chesapeake Bay and exacted a heavy toll from Marylanders seeking access to the sea. In contrast, Maryland owned the entire Potomac River and retaliated by forbidding residents of Virginia from fishing there. It just happened that the Potomac River was one of the finest oyster-breeding grounds in the world. Its rocky bottom made it an ideal place for oysters to grow. It was only natural for the Virginians to lust after the large and plentiful oysters that grew in waters lapping at their shoreline. An agreement was reached between the two states. This was known as the Compact of 1785. Under this treaty Virginia residents would be allowed to fish in the Potomac but would be subject to Maryland rules and regulations.

This began the famous Oyster Wars that had oystermen breaking every law on the books. There was widespread poaching. Oystering at night led to shots being fired at both the boats and their occupants. The less harmful shooting occurred when an oyster boat was shot and sunk. Personal attacks were the more serious of the offenses and continued unabated for nearly 200 years.

This was not limited to the oystermen in combat with each other. Maryland had what was known as the Oyster Navy; it began about 1870. They waged pitched battles with any boat catching oysters illegally. Most of the boats of the Oyster Navy were loaned to the U.S. Government during World War II. When they resumed after the War, it was named the Tidewater Fisheries Commission. New officers that had returned from combat duty in the War brought new energy and new courage to the pursuit of oyster law violators.

This uneasy accord continued in force (with certain modifications from time to time) until December 5, 1962 when President John F. Kennedy signed the Potomac Fisheries Bill. This mandated that the governing of the river was to be in the hands of a bi-state commission. Only then did the oyster wars more or less end.

I was at the courthouse today in the hallway waiting for a thing to start after lunch and Charles Jannace was there talking to somebody about you and how he's good friends with Mike Pense. Jannace said he met Pense at Ronald Reagan's funeral and they became very close friends, something about them meeting in line in the capital building. 

Anyway, the conversation turned to Joe Albero and Jannace said he was going to get Pense to ''shut that guy down'' meaning you and that he could call Pense at any time and use the fed's communications commission to block you under Sect. 250 which I guess is lawyer talk. 

He was really bragging about how Joe Albero's payback was coming. I guess Pense won't be in charge of anything until Jan., but who knows how all that works. Maybe you can call Trump through his friend Mike Lewis or talk to Larry Hogan? 

Please don't let Charles Jannace close your website pages because we need them here in our county and state and such.

Gingrich: Beware of Republicans Speaking 'Honeyed Words of Subversion'

(CNSNews.com) - The Trump presidency will be "one of the great adventures of our lifetime," former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told Fox News's Sean Hannity Wednesday night.

Gingrich dismissed never-Trump Republicans as "whiny, snivelling, negative cowards" who should "drift off into the ashbin of history while we go ahead and work with Donald Trump and with the House and Senate Republicans to create a dramatically new future."

Hannity asked Gingrich if he worries about establishment Republicans in Congress who may turn on Trump in an effort to stop his progress:

"Their technique won't be to turn on him," Gingrich said. "Their technique will be to say 'Oh, be reasonable. Don't push too hard. Don't force the issue. Find a compromise with Democrats. Maybe he shouldn't name one of the [Supreme Court] justices who are conservative who's on his list. Maybe he should find a nice moderate acceptable to the Democrats.'

"Down that road is a disaster," Gingrich continued. "And then, so we have to be aware that the danger is not that they're going to actively fight. The danger is that they're going to opt for honeyed words of subversion that undermines the entire movement to make America great again..."

Thousands of people coast-to-coast took to the streets Wednesday night to protest Donald Trump's election, disrupting traffic, chanting anti-Trump slogans and some ending up in handcuffs.

From New England to heartland cities like Kansas City and along the West Coast, demonstrators bore flags and effigies of the president-elect, disrupting traffic and declaring that they refused to accept Trump's victory.

Some California cities saw heated tensions over Trump's election. Thousands of protesters burned a giant papier mache Trump head in Los Angeles and started fires in Oakland intersections.

Los Angeles demonstrators also beat a Trump piñata and sprayed the Los Angeles Times building and news vans with anti-Trump profanity. One protester outside LA City Hall read a sign that simply said "this is very bad."

In Chicago, several thousand people marched through the Loop. They gathered outside Trump Tower, chanting "Not my president!" One resident, Michael Burke, said he believes the president-elect stands to divide the nation and stir up a deep-seated hatred. He added there was a constitutional duty not to accept that outcome.

Clinton's loss followed legacy of electoral failures

Hillary Clinton's historic defeat in the presidential election this week confounded pollsters and analysts who had predicted a comfortable victory for the Democratic nominee. But it also continued Clinton's pattern of frequently coming up short in key moments.

In 2008, Clinton's victory in the Democratic primary considered all but certain until, quite suddenly, it was not. In summer 2015 and earlier this year, Clinton's cruise to the Democratic nomination was a foregone conclusion until, on the eve of the Iowa caucus, it was transformed into a slog by Sen. Bernie Sanders.

And on Tuesday night, Clinton's assured ascension to the White House was stopped dead in its tracks by a defeat the political class failed to see coming.

"Hillary Clinton was a dreadful candidate — and the wrong fit for a change election," said Charles Lipson, a political science professor at the University of Chicago.

"She was the Jeb Bush of the general election," he added. "Very well funded but not very well liked."

Like in the case of Jeb Bush's failed bid for the GOP nomination, the warning signs for Clinton appeared early in the primary.

Her unfavorable numbers soared to historic heights, her message struggled to find footing in communities that were friendly toPresident Obama and — perhaps most importantly — primary voters flocked to a candidate whose platform represented a dramatic departure from what had propelled Democrats to the White House in the past.

For more than a year, political pundits like myself predicted Donald Trump wouldn't run for president. After he ran, we said he wouldn't last. After he lasted, we said he couldn't win the primary, and then that he couldn't win the general election.

Damn, were we wrong.

Now, like broken records, we're going to spout off on just why we think we were so historically wrong.

We've already seen various reactions by stunned pundits, and a no-show by Hillary Clinton as the race was called. Some pundits are accusing the nation of suddenly bringing racism and sexism to the voting booth, while others are eating crow. Clinton campaign manager John Podesta told supporters Clinton wouldn't concede (a claim that was immediately countered by a report of a Clinton call to Trump) and some are claiming voter intimidation helped Trump over the top.

Zogby: Blame Hillary's 'craven lust for power,' and 'cackle'

Pollster John Zogby wants to make one thing clear about the 2016 election.

Hillary Clinton was the worst candidate possible for the Democrats and her loss is not a repudiation of President Obama.

In his post-election analysis, he said, "of those 140 million voters yesterday, 54 percent gave President Obama a positive job approval rating and more (31 percent) said they were doing better financially. He added, "a little over two weeks ago that when Hillary Clinton was leading Donald Trump by just 2 points, Mr. Obama was leading 54 percent to 41 percent in a hypothetical matchup with Mr. Trump. So let's just get that out of the way."

So it was Hillary's fault, he said, from her "craven lust for power" and even her "cackle."

Zogby blogged: "Yesterday's election was about Hillary Clinton as the wrong and possibly the worst candidate the Democrats could have nominated. First is the craven lust for power that she and her husband displayed. The sheer sense of entitlement. While she tried late to turn her message to women into 'it is our turn,' her campaign was all about her. "To be turned off by her smile and cackle was hardly being a misogynist. It was all about gestures that gave off the message that she was manipulative, arrogant, and just a tad disingenuous."

Hillary concedes in purple, color of pain, suffering, Last Rites, royalty

Defeated Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton conceded Wednesday while dressed in purple, the liturgical color of pain, suffering, royalty and even death.

Her black and purple suit matched the tie wore by her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and others on the New York hotel stage including running mate Sen. Tim Kaine, his wife Anne Holton, and daughter Chelsea.

During her much applauded address, Clinton talked about the pain she felt, quoted scripture, and encouraged her younger supporters to carry on her fight.

According to several religion websites, especially Catholic, the color purple, used during Lent, has many meanings. The Archdiocese of Boston website said, "The colors violet or purple in Advent help us to remember that we are preparing for the coming of Christ. Lent, the season of penance, repentance, and renewal, also uses the colors violet or purple."

A fitting end to Hillary Clinton's public service career

Hillary Clinton will probably take a little time to recover from her devastating loss Tuesday night, but I doubt she'll be out of the public eye forever. I don't think, however, that she will run for office again (or maybe third time's a charm?).

Previously, I wrote that in her concession speech on Wednesday Clinton couldn't help but fall into her habit of talking about being a woman and the possibility of becoming the first woman president. Yet ultimately, it was a stoic and powerful speech.

Where was this side of Clinton during the campaign? Some people on Twitter wondered: What if the tone of the campaign had been between concession-speech Clinton and acceptance-speech Donald Trump? It might not have been such a divisive campaign.

Clinton had already lost points the previous night when she declined to address her supporters, who had waited for hours at her "victory" party headquarters in New York. Instead, she sent campaign chair John Podesta to announce that they would wait until more votes were counted before they said anything more.

Congressman Andy Harris Applauds FEMA for Resolving Ocean City Flood Maps

SALISBURY, MD: Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) released the following statement in response to the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) issued to revise flood hazard mapping in the Town of Ocean City:

"FEMA's announcement is a crucial win for Ocean City and will allow the town to finally resolve the flood map issue. We have been working diligently with the Town of Ocean City, FEMA, as well as local officials to ensure that the hard working people on the Shore are not forced to pay unnecessarily high insurance rates. I applaud FEMA for working with us to correct this expensive error."

Last year, FEMA issued new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for the Town of Ocean City, incorrectly mapping a flood zone, and forcing property owners to unfairly pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary flood insurance premiums. Congressman Harris has been working with the Town of Ocean City, FEMA, as well as several local officials since April to rectify the situation.

With the issuance of this LOMR, FEMA has stated, "This revision is based on updating the delineation of the primary frontal dune to include the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Atlantic Coast of Maryland Storm Protection Project and excludes the secondary dunes that are non-continuous, private landscape areas."
