The Way It Ought To be

So many members of Congress are retiring in hopes of "locking-in" their future retirement payments. Currently their monthly retirement checks are equal to their monthly salaries. They hope to freeze their retirement as it stands. I'm with Trump on this one. Trump is asking everyone to forward this Email to a minimum of 20 people and to ask each one of them to do likewise.

This makes too much sense not to be passed on. In 3 days, most people in the United States will have the message. This is why the idea should be passed around, regardless of Political Party.

The Trump Rule's Congressional Reform Act Of 2019:

1– No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman / Woman, collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. No more perks go with them.

2– Congressman / Woman (past, present & future) participate in social security. All funds in the Congressional Retirement Fund move to the Social Security System immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security System, and Congress participates with the American People. It may not be used for any other purposes.

3– Congress must purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4– Congress will no longer vote themselves pay increases. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5– Congress loses their current Healthcare System and participates in the same Healthcare System as the American people.

6– Congress must equally abide by all the laws, they impose on the American people.

7– All contracts with past and present Congressman / Woman are void. The American people did not make these contracts with Congressmen / Women. The Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators should serve their terms, then go home and go back to work, and not get all kinds of freebies!

No wonder they're fighting THIS TOOTH AND NAIL!

If each person contacts a minimum of 20 people, It will only take 3 days for most people in the United States to receive this message. It's time for us to take action now!

Editor's note: While we could find nothing on "The Trump Rule's Congressional Reform Act Of 2019" we did find a few petitions and H.R.1935 - Congressional Pension Reform Act.  I doubt Congress would agree to take away any of their benefits.

Why Dems are so Worried After Latest Round of Impeachment Hearings


"With signs that Americans are tuning out the impeachment hearings, the clock is ticking on Democrats' chance to make their case. Pelosi is clearly worried, telling fellow Dems it's a 'weak response' to 'let the election decide' whether President Trump should be removed," Michael Goodwin writes in the New York Post. 

The letter seemed strange on Monday when Pelosi sent it to her colleagues, the editors write, "but Tuesday's hearing more than justified her fear and desperation."

Sickening Survey: Smartphones Covered In Bacteria, Yet 1 in 4 NEVER Clean Theirs

Tens of millions of people carry their smartphone with them everywhere they go, including the bathroom. Our phones are always within our grasp, which means they are also constantly being exposed to whatever bacteria we may have accumulated on our hands. Unfortunately, a new survey of 1,200 Americans and their cleaning habits finds that one in four (23%) have never cleaned their phone.

Broken down by the gender, more than one in four men have never cleaned their phone (26%), and one in five women admit to the same hygienic oversight (20%). To put in perspective just how dirty most phones become, researchers estimate that a regularly used smartphone that has never been cleaned may hold more bacteria than an entire household bathroom.

According to the survey, conducted by antibacterial white light company Vital Vio, it's common for smartphones to come into contact with various forms of bacteria and disease, including strep, staph, and E.coli.

New York Times Ripped for Spreading Fake News About Vindman

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), as well as a number of users on Twitter, ripped the New York Times on Tuesday for spreading fake news regarding the actions of the Democrats' star impeachment witness Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman.

"Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman became so concerned during a July 25 phone call in which President Trump asked Ukraine's president for help with political investigations that he reported his alarm to a superior," the New York Times tweeted on Tuesday.

However, the Times' summary is grossly inaccurate, as Vindman "never raised his concerns with his immediate supervisor," as Breitbart News reported:

"Vindman never raised his concerns with his immediate supervisor. He also contradicted the commander-in-chief: while Trump had made a request of the Ukrainian president, Vindman admitted — proudly, it seems — that he had advised the Ukrainians to ignore it as an unwelcome intrusion into U.S. politics."

'This is immoral': Bernie Sanders tweets retracted Reuters story claiming US has 100,000 detained children

Bernie Sanders tweeted out a Reuters story that linked to a story that had been retracted by the news organization because it cited statistics from almost five years ago.

The independent Vermont senator and 2020 presidential candidate sent out the article titled "U.S. has the world's highest rate of children in detention: U.N. study" to his 8.8 million followers with the caption, "Under Trump, America leads the world in locking up little kids—including 100,000 children at the border. This is immoral."

The data was actually from 2015 when Barack Obama was president.

How This Bill Could Free Workers From Forced Union Representation

Imagine that a charge was brought against you and you had to appear in court. Now, imagine that instead of having the choices of representing yourself, hiring an attorney of your choice, or being represented by a public defender, you were required to use an appointed public defender.

And now, imagine that the public defender assigned to you had polar-opposite political views than yours and that your voting and opinions were fully disclosed to that public defender.

That's the case today for employees in unionized workplaces.

Even if the workers have the option not to join the union (because they live in a right-to-work state or are a public employee), they nevertheless cannot be represented by anyone other than the union—including by themselves—in employee-employer relations. And their choice not to join the union is well-known to the union that is supposed to represent them.

The Worker's Choice Act—introduced by Republican Reps. Dusty Johnson of South Dakota, Greg Murphy of North Carolina, and Phil Roe of Tennessee—would change that by ending unions' government-granted monopoly over employee-employer negotiations, otherwise known as exclusive representation.

Trump flips third appeals court to majority GOP appointed judges

The Tuesday confirmation of Judge Robert J. Luck created a majority for Republican-appointed judges on the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals, the third such party flip in a federal court of appeals during the Trump presidency.

President Trump has also created GOP majority courts in the Third Circuit, which flipped in March, and the Second Circuit, which flipped last week with the confirmation of Steven Menashi. Since Trump assumed office in 2017, 163 title III judges have been confirmed to the bench, including Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

The confirmation of Barbara Lagoa to the 11th Circuit is also expected in the coming days after Luck was easily confirmed by the Senate with a 64 to 31 vote. The change to a GOP-fortified 11th Circuit could mean a significant shift in the outcome of several election law disputes, primarily from Georgia and Florida, which the court is currently involved in.

Troopers Arrest Milton Woman for Child Abuse- Milton

Milton– The Delaware State Police have arrested 35-year-old Christina R. Morris on multiple counts of child abuse and related charges.
The investigation began on November 14, 2019 at approximately 1:06 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the Beebe Medical Center in reference to a child abuse case.  Upon arrival, Troopers learned that a 12-year-old female had been brought to the hospital by her father with significant injuries to her face.  It was determined that the female victim had escaped her residence where she was being held by her mother, Christina Morris and physically abused.
Further investigation revealed that two other children were being held in the residence, a 14-year-old male and a 4-year-old female.  Troopers responded to the residence on W Circle Drive, Milton where Morris was taken into custody without incident.  The two children were also located in the residence and taken into custody.
It was learned that the 12-year-old female and 14-year old male had been physically abused by Morris on several occasions, in which Morris utilized a high heel shoe, baseball bat and belts.  Morris had also handcuffed the 12-year-old and threatened to kill her.  Morris prevented all of the children from leaving the residence.  All three children were transported to the A.I  Dupont Hospital for further treatment.
Troopers obtained a search warrant for the residence and located the baseball bat, belts and handcuffs.  It was also discovered that the windows of the residence were frosted and there were blocks in the windows to prevent them from being opened.

Morris was transported back to Troop 4 where she was charged with the following:
  • Child Abuse 1 st (4 counts)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (2 counts)
  • Unlawful Imprisonment First Degree
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child (3 counts)
  • Unlawful Imprisonment Second Degree (2 counts)
  • Terroristic Threatening
  • Child Abuse 3rd
Morris was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on $128500.00 cash only bond.

Governor Hogan Announces Judicial Appointments

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today announced he has selected Abigail Marsh and David Martz as judicial appointees for the Wicomico County District Court. The governor made the appointments after interviewing nominees submitted by the judicial nominating commission for Wicomico County.

"The appointment of qualified individuals to serve across our state's justice system is paramount to upholding our responsibilities to the people of Maryland and maintaining the highest standards of the rule of law," said Governor Hogan. "I have confidence that Ms. Marsh and Mr. Martz will be strong advocates for the law and will serve the citizens of Wicomico County admirably."

Abigail Marsh is the executive director of the Life Crisis Center, a non-profit legal services and advocacy center. Prior to joining the center, she served as the Deputy State's Attorney for Worcester County in the circuit court division under State's Attorney Beau Oglesby. She also worked in private practice for three years, where she handled insurance defense and municipal matters. Ms. Marsh received her B.A. from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa. and her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law. She clerked for the Honorable Alfred T. Truitt, Jr., Circuit Court for Wicomico County.

David Martz has spent almost his entire career as a prosecutor with the Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office. Previously, Martz was employed by Robert A. Eaton, P.A., where he focused on legal issues related to municipal government and local legislation. He also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Daniel M. Long, Circuit Court for Somerset County. He obtained his B.A. from Salisbury University and his J.D. from the University of Louisville School of Law.

‘Now I Know What Freedom Is’: One Young Man’s Escape From North Korea

Observers first see Ilhyeok Kim's joyful, room-lighting smile before they notice he is relatively short—because he is North Korean defector short.

"For me, freedom means that when I want to do something, I'll do it, and if I don't want to do something, I don't have to do it," Kim told The Daily Signal last month at an event in Washington hosted by the group Liberty in North Korea.

"Now I know what freedom is," he added.

When he escaped communist North Korea at 17 years old and made his way to South Korea, Kim weighed less than 88 pounds and stood 4-foot-11. The average 17-year-old male in South Korea weighs 138 pounds and stands 5-foot-8.

Most North Koreans are 5 inches shorter and 15 pounds lighter than South Koreans because they grow up knowing hunger and hard labor under the communist regime.

"In North Korea, whatever you harvest on your farm is the government's to take," Kim, now 24, said. "The regime didn't care if its citizens died from starvation. Usually, we were only given enough rations to survive for two months. Then the hunger would set in."

Kim was born into punishment under North Korean law for a crime he didn't commit.

"My father stole [military] food and grains from a general food storage area," he told The Daily Signal.

Barely any food was available in his hometown of Saebyul from February to June each year, Kim said, and his father and his father's friends stole food from the government in 1991 because they were starving.

City of District Heights Mayor Convicted of Misconduct in Office

Acting State Prosecutor Kelly B. Madigan announced today that District Heights Mayor Eddie Martin was convicted of Misconduct in Office after a two day jury trial before Prince George's County Circuit Court Judge Tiffany H. Anderson earlier this week.

In June 2019, Martin was charged via a Criminal Information with one count of misconduct in office. That Criminal Information alleged that on June 8, 2017, Martin signed a letter on City of District Heights' letterhead authorizing the unlawful purchase of approximately fifty-thousand dollars worth of Class B and Class C fireworks from Wayne's World Fireworks and represented that these fireworks were to be used on behalf of the City of District Heights. Martin, however, was aware that he was authorizing the purchase for an acquaintance for his own benefit.

Sentencing is scheduled for December 10, 2019.

Misconduct in office is a common law misdemeanor that carries any potential sentence that is not cruel and unusual.

This matter was jointly investigated by the Office of the State Prosecutor, the Prince George's County Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Attorneys' Office for the District of Maryland.

Poll: Opposition to Trump impeachment jumps 10% among independents

More independents oppose the impeachment proceedings against President Trump than support them, according to a recent poll conducted after the beginning of public testimony.

A Morning Consult- Politico poll released Tuesday said 47% of independents "oppose the current impeachment inquiry," while only 40% of independents support impeachment. The poll represents a 10% drop in support among independents for the impeachment.

Overall, opposition increased to 45%, while support for impeachment dropped from 50% to 48%. The decrease in support follows the start of the second week of testimony by impeachment witnesses.

Impeachment backlash fuels record GOP fundraising, massive $61M in bank

The Republican National Committee fundraising juggernaut, fueled by a GOP backlash to the House impeachment effort to force President Trump from office, scored another record in October and pushed the bank account past $61 million.

The debt-free RNC told Secrets exclusively that it brought in $25.3 million in October and has $61.4 million cash on hand.

For perspective, that is nearly triple what it raised in October 2017, the last nonelection October, and the money on hand is the most since 2012.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has been setting fundraising records month after month, and when the Trump 2020 campaign effort is included, the GOP team has raised nearly $400 million. In September, it raised over $27 million, another record.

Comptroller Announces Largest Tobacco Bust in Agency History

Three men from Prince George's and Howard counties & Baltimore City charged; Seized items represent nearly $300K tax loss

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (November 20, 2019) - Comptroller Peter Franchot today announced the largest tobacco bust in the agency's history—nearly a half million dollars of untaxed tobacco products seized representing a tax loss to the state of more than $286,000.
During early-morning raids on November 5 at multiple locations in Prince George's County and Baltimore City, agents from the Field Enforcement Division (FED) discovered a large-scale operation to import and distribute untaxed tobacco products and cigarettes in the state.
The year-long investigation, done in cooperation with federal, state and local law enforcement partners, involved numerous routine tobacco inspections and surveillance operations conducted by FED agents that yielded large quantities of untaxed cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (OTP).
"The work of the agency's Field Enforcement Division is second to none, and this latest operation to bring down a criminal enterprise demonstrates solid police work and multi-jurisdictional coordination," said Comptroller Franchot. "As a result, these lawbreakers will be held accountable and Marylanders will not see lost tax revenue going out the door."

Agents seized thousands of cartons of untaxed tobacco products at a storage facility and at six retail locations. The combined retail sales value of the seized contraband tobacco products is $452,850.92 and represents a tax loss of $286,325.42 to the State of Maryland.
FED agents arrested Mehboob Chowdhury, 37, of Capitol Heights and Monzurul Islam, 29, of Columbia, and charged them with selling OTP purchased from other than a wholesaler. The two men are believed to be part of a larger tobacco smuggling syndicate operating in the state. Additional charges may follow.
FED agents believe Chowdhury and Islam smuggled untaxed tobacco into the state, stashed it in a large storage facility in Capitol Heights and then distributed those products to retail tobacco stores where the untaxed items were sold to the public.
During a related inspection at the Tobacco and Convenience Store in Northeast Baltimore, FED agents cited store clerk Abdul Karim Rubel, 18, of Baltimore. He faces misdemeanor charges of selling OTP purchased from other than a wholesaler, possession of untaxed OTP and possession and sale of untaxed cigarettes.
Search warrants were served at:
  • Extra Space Storage, 6300 Walker Mill Road, Capitol Heights
  • Tobacco Heaven, 4831 Silver Hill Road, Suitland
  • 24 Hour Best Tobacco Beer and Wine, 5400 Marlboro Pike, District Heights
  • 24 Hour Discount Mart Convenience and Tobacco Store, 5003 A Marlboro Pike, Capitol Heights
  • Residence of Mehboob Chowdhury of Capitol Heights and 2019 Toyota Highlander belonging to him
Inspections were conducted at:
  • Tobacco and Convenience Store, 5300 Frankford Ave., Baltimore
  • Tobacco and Wireless, 13312 Laurel-Bowie Road, Laurel
  • 24 Hour One Stop Convenience, 6106 Old Silver Hill Road, District Heights
The total quantity of contraband tobacco products discovered and seized at the various locations is as follows:
  • 341,504 sticks of non-premium untaxed tobacco products
  • 521 packs of untaxed cigarettes
  • 7,866 packages of untaxed loose and Hookah tobacco products
  • 1,246 untaxed premium cigars
The largest portion of the contraband products seized by agents occurred at the Extra Space Storage in Capitol Heights. The number of items and dollar amounts are as follows:
  • 237,787 sticks of untaxed non-premium OTP with a retail value of $237,787 representing a tax loss of $166,450.90; and
  • 2,953 packages of untaxed loose and Hookah tobacco with a retail value of $48,757 representing a tax loss of $14,627.10.
"This investigation and bust was the result of a year-long probe involving numerous law enforcement partners to dismantle significant criminal activity in Maryland," said Jeff Kelly, FED director. "I couldn't be prouder of the work of our dedicated, effective and professional staff for upholding the law and looking out for taxpayers' interests."
FED agents were assisted by Prince George's County Police, Baltimore City Police and Maryland State Police. The Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office is also working with the agency.
"Tobacco smuggling is big business and the perpetrators are more brazen than ever before," said Franchot. "We will continue to use every resource at our disposal to fight this lucrative form of organized crime."

'I get upset': GOP congressman demands Schiff explain legal authority to conceal whistleblower

Rep. Mike Conaway told House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff during the public impeachment hearings that he wanted to know the legal grounds on which Schiff refused to allow the naming of the whistleblower.

"Mr. Chairman, I would like, as a personal request, I request that you and/or one of your lawyers, one of the members of the committee, put into the record the federal statute that provides for the absolute immunity, right to immunity, that you've exerted over and over and over," the Texas Republican said Tuesday. "I don't think it's there, but if it is, in fact, a federal statute and/or a brief that you can cite, put that in the record so that we'll know that."

Conaway then urged Schiff not to get angry with him and accuse him of wanting to out the whistleblower, saying, "I get upset every time you ... accuse me, simply because I want to know the whistleblower, and I want to know what's going on, that we want to out that individual. That's unfair for you to make that accusation, and I get just as mad. This is about leveling the playing field between our two teams."

Ohio GOP introduces bill charging mothers who have abortions with murder

Republicans in Ohio have introduced legislation that would make women who receive abortions subject to murder charges.

House Bill 413, introduced by State Reps. Candice Keller and Ron Hood, would "regard the unborn child victim of an aggravated abortion murder or abortion murder as a person who is less than thirteen years of age."

Under the law, women who receive abortions as part of a lifesaving medical procedure would not be prosecuted as long as they could prove that they took "all possible steps to preserve the life of the unborn child, while preserving the life of the woman."

Doctors who perform abortion procedures would not be subject to prosecution under the law.

Witness: Aid to Lebanon Withheld at Same Time, and Same Way, as Ukraine

Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale testified to the House Intelligence Committee earlier this month that aid to Lebanon had been withheld at roughly the same time, and in the same way, as aid to Ukraine.

The transcript of Hale's closed-door deposition was released Monday evening, on the eve of a slew of new hearings.

Hale, a career diplomat, testified that the suspension of aid to various countries was part of a context in which the Trump administration had "embarked on a foreign assistance review in which we are trying to reestablish the norms that guide the assistance that we provide overseas." Hale called the review of U.S. foreign aid "long overdue."

He added that aid to Lebanon had been withheld by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in the White House– as had aid to the "Northern Triangle" of countries in Central America from which many of the migrants flocking to the U.S. border had come.

#RedforEd Teachers Shut Down Public Schools in Indiana

The #RedforEd movement shut down a number of K-12 public schools in Indiana on Tuesday as school teachers skipped class to protest at the State Capitol.

"Thousands of students in Indiana will be out of school on Tuesday while teachers plan to head to the statehouse to demand better pay," Fox 59 reported.

The Indianapolis Star reported 145 school districts around the state will close for what the state's teachers union is calling "Red for Ed Action Day":

So far, 145 school districts have canceled class or moved to an "e-learning day" Tuesday to accommodate teachers who want to attend the Indiana State Teachers Association's Red for Ed Action Day at the Statehouse. The state's largest teacher's union called on its members to take a personal day to lobby state lawmakers for better pay, among other things.

A well-funded and subversive leftist movement of teachers in the United States threatens to tilt the political balance nationwide in the direction of Democrats across the country as Republicans barely hang on in key states that they need to hold for President Donald Trump to win re-election and for Republicans to have a shot at retaking the House and holding onto their Senate majority.

This teachers union effort, called #RedforEd, has its roots in the very same socialism that President Trump vowed in his 2019 State of the Union address to stop, and it began in its current form in early 2018 in a far-flung corner of the country before spreading nationally. Its stated goals–higher teacher pay and better education conditions–are overshadowed by a more malevolent political agenda: a leftist Democrat uprising designed to flip purple or red states to blue, using the might of a significant part of the education system as its lever.

The Times of Israel reports: Four projectiles were fired at northern Israel from Syria in the predawn hours of Tuesday morning, the Israel Defense Forces said. All four were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.

The Israeli military believes the rockets were fired by Iran or one of its proxies. "Four launches were seen from Syrian territory toward Israeli territory that were shot down by soldiers operating the Iron Dome missile defense system," the military said in a statement.

"This whole concept of political correctness … it's going to destroy our nation." That was the no-nonsense response of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson to Rep. Jennifer Wexton, D-Va.

Wexton was trying for a "gotcha" moment in a congressional hearing when she asked Carson if he would "apologize" for being quoted for expressing concern over "big, hairy men" trying to gain entry to an Alaska women's homeless shelter.

I could not have said it better. On the most recent edition of "Washington Watch," Carson—or Dr. Politically Incorrect, as I've called him—joined me to make it clear he will not kowtow to political correctness.

"It's foolishness because, you know, the First Amendment guarantees people freedom of speech," he said. "What political correctness does is it makes people afraid to express themselves. So coming in the back door, it actually suppresses the First Amendment. And we need to be very, very wary of anything that takes away our constitutional rights."

Carson went on to nail the consequences of caving into the left's tantrums:

"Anything that doesn't agree with them is a hateful word, and that's what I mean when I said we need to be more mature than that. That's what I might expect from a third-grade playground. If we make everything such a sensitive subject and everybody has to sit down and filter everything that they say, and we're listening carefully to their words instead of what their meaning is, what do we become as a society and as a people?"

Judicial Watch: Government Agency Buries $8.8 Billion Loss at End of Fiscal Year Report

A troubled government agency notorious for its monstrous financial problems is trying to bury shocking multi-billion-dollar losses at the bottom of a fiscal year report that deceivingly highlights an operating revenue increase.

Issued this month by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), the report prominently features operating revenue increases of hundreds of millions of dollars while incidentally pointing out towards the end a ghastly net loss of $8.8 billion in fiscal year 2019. It constitutes more than double the agency's loss of $3.9 billion the previous year. The USPS attributes the failure to discount rate changes and workers' compensation expenses.

Even for a scandal-plagued agency notorious for its egregious spending sprees, the hit to American taxpayers is substantial. Management attributes some of the year's losses to a $5.4 billion increase in operating expenses driven largely by a spike in workers' compensation obligations. Compensation and benefits expenses alone increased by $994 million due to contractual wage increases, the USPS reveals, and retirement benefits increased by $320 million "due largely to the higher amortization costs of unfunded benefits."

Top Pence adviser says witness Jennifer Williams never objected to Trump Ukraine call

Vice President Mike Pence's national security adviser issued a rare statement rebuking a fellow Pence aide's testimony while distancing Pence from President Trump's request that Ukraine investigate Democrats.

Retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg disputed his subordinate Jennifer Williams' testimony that Trump's July 25 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was "unusual" and "inappropriate." Williams had reported no concerns to him, he said in a statement.

Kellogg underscored, however, that Pence did not request investigations of Democrats when he met with Zelensky on Sept. 1 in Poland, concurring with a different part of Williams' Tuesday testimony before the House Intelligence Committee.

Is that statement true or false? Well, if party affiliation is any indicator, most women under the age of 40 would say "true."

Young women, especially single women, are among the left's most loyal supporters. This isn't surprising given that programs like government-subsidized childcare and government-mandated paid family leave sound like things that make life better for women. But do they really?

Most European governments provide subsidies that allow women to stay home for months—even years—following the birth of a child. And some European countries require employers to offer female employees part-time and flexible work arrangements.

'Schiff Show' Roundup: Perjury, Nine Witnesses

Just when you thought Democrats had moved on to nailing President Donald Trump on Ukraine, they go back to the "Russia collusion" well. The Wall Street Journal reports, "The top lawyer for the Democratic-led House said impeachment investigators were examining whether President Trump lied in statements to former special counsel Robert Mueller."

Rep. Jame Raskin (D-MD) explains, "It's a crime to lie to federal prosecutors in the course of a federal proceeding. That's perjury. It was also the basis for the GOP-controlled House's impeachment of Bill Clinton for lying under oath, for committing perjury. So it's a very serious offense — and it's obviously something that we take seriously."

So, along with shifting to "bribery" instead of "quid pro quo," Democrats have latched onto a second word — "perjury" — to bolster their impeachment case. Constitutional and legal terms tested better than Latin in focus groups. Democrats may also be baiting Trump into testifying on his own behalf. He says he would "strongly consider" it.

Baltimore Taxpayers Fund Lyft-Rides For Inner-City Poor Facing "Food Deserts"

With more than a quarter of all Baltimore City residents living in a food desert, meaning there's no supermarket in a walkable distance, the taxpayers are now funding a new program that will pay for their Lyft ride to the grocery store.

Starting Monday, residents in South and West Baltimore City, some of the most impoverished areas in the country, can register online for Lyft and get government-subsidized trips to participating grocery stores, reported The Baltimore Sun.

The pilot program will sponsor up to 200 residents, will cover one-way rides up to $2.50. Each rider can take as many as eight trips per month.
"Whoa, that is lovely," Evelyn Robinson told The Sun. "I wouldn't have to wait for someone to be available to take me or pay as much money. I could go whenever I wanted."
For some more color on South and West Baltimore City, these areas are low-income neighborhoods, about 33% of households don't even own vehicles, and most folks have negative net wealth. Many don't have jobs because the local economy has been stuck in a depression for twenty years.

Both areas are equivalent to a third-world country and have the highest per-capita homicide rates in the country.

Instead of supermarkets on each corner of the street, there are liquor stores and methadone clinics.

The Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation can no longer raise enough money to cover its expenses, ever since Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign failed to propel her into an office from which she could dispense political favors. Clinton Foundation reports to the IRS for the last two tax years have demonstrated that without anyone to grant boons, fewer donors are interested in supporting it.

The Clinton Foundation reported a loss of more than $16 million in 2018, according to newly released tax records, marking the second consecutive year of losses since Hillary Clinton's humiliating defeat to President Donald J. Trump in 2016.
The foundation reported total revenue of just $30.7 million, including $24.2 million worth of grants and contributions, a record low for the alleged "charity." That figure was well short of the foundation's total expenses for the year—$47.5 million— resulting in a net loss of $16.8 million.

Huckabee: Chick-fil-A 'surrendered to anti-Christian hate groups'

Mike Huckabee has long championed Chick-fil-A in the face of attacks from the left but after the company's announcement Monday to stop donating to two Christian organizations, he has changed his tune.

The company announced it was donating to initiatives that further its "mission of nourishing the potential in every child." It said that in 2020 it would stop donating to two Christian organizations, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and The Salvation Army, that have been accused by gay rights activists of having anti-LGBTQ views.

"In Aug. 2012, I coordinated a national Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day after they were being bullied by militant hate groups," the former Arkansas governor tweeted Monday. "Today, Chick-fil-A betrayed local customers for $$. I regret believing they would stay true to convictions of founder Truett Cathy. Sad."

The prominent conservative Christian leader added that the popular chicken chain's move was seen as "surrendering to critics and betraying loyal customers to appease those who despise them."

Vindman Refuses to Say Who He Spoke to in Intelligence Community About July 25 Call

National Security Council official Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman refused to answer questions Tuesday about who he spoke to in the intelligence community about President Donald Trump's July 25 call with the Ukrainian president during the third public impeachment inquiry hearing.

House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA) asked Vindman whether he spoke with anyone outside of the White House about the July 25 call. Vindman said he spoke to two people, and identified one as George Kent, a senior State Department official. The other, he said, was an individual in "the intelligence community."

When pressed by Nunes about what agency the individual in the intelligence community was from, Vindman refused to answer.

"As you know the intelligence community has 17 different agencies, what agency was this individual from?" Nunes asked.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff jumped in: "If I could interject here..."

WHITE HOUSE SOURCE: TRUMP MADE UNEXPECTED HOSPITAL VISIT TO TEST FOR INTENTIONAL POISONING

An inside source says President Trump's food taster became ill after ingesting an unnamed substance, which is why the president made a surprise hospital visit on Saturday.

In an official statement, the White House said President Trump visited the Walter Reed Military Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, for a "quick exam and labs."

The hospital visit was not listed on the president's public schedule, according to media outlets which indicated that the visit was not a routine physical exam.

Additionally, the inside source said his food taster was rushed to the facility after becoming extremely ill.

Doctors and staff reportedly found the byproduct of a type of toxin that's very hard to detect and has a time-delayed onset of symptoms.

Additionally, the toxin is a newer concoction that's not typically tested for since it's not well-known, according to the source.

UPDATED: Former Mayor Pugh federally charged on 11 counts of fraud, tax-related charges

BALTIMORE —An 11-count federal indictment against former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh was made public Wednesday morning.

Pugh, 69, is federally charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, seven counts of wire fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and two counts of tax evasion. Pugh was charged on Nov. 14 and the charges were made public Wednesday.

Pugh is scheduled for an initial appearance and arraignment in U.S. District Court in Baltimore before U.S. District Judge Deborah K. Chasanow on Nov. 21 at 1 p.m. Pugh is expected to self-surrender to the U.S. Marshals prior to the hearing.

HUD's Carson Slams Maxine Waters for Homeless Issue Hypocrisy

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson on Monday tore into House Financial Services Chairwoman Maxine Waters, D-Calif., and accused her of being a hypocrite on homelessness and of lacking "basic manners" after she wrote a letter to President Donald Trump accusing him of being "shameless" on the issue.

"My mother always taught me that people shouldn't throw rocks, especially while they live in a glass house," Carson told Waters according to a copy of the letter obtained by Politico. "Because of that wise lesson, I was a little surprised to read your hostile letter to President Trump regarding the record number of homeless Americans in California, particularly in your district."

In her Oct. 28 letter, Waters demanded Trump answer reports the administration was considering moving homeless people off of California's streets, and told him his "shamelessness knows no bounds."

Carson responded Monday, "Shamelessness is a career politician of 30 years laying blame" while "allowing more than 55,000 Americans to live on the very streets they represent."

Report: Decrease in enrollment in University System of Maryland schools

ANNAPOLIS, Md. —For the eighth year in row, fewer students are enrolling in the nation's colleges and universities.

A report adds Maryland to that list. No one is surprised by the slight decrease taking place among the state's dozen or so colleges and universities. The state said it knows why the numbers are dropping and has a plan to deal with it.

The new figures come about three months into a new school year for Maryland colleges and universities. The numbers show 170,000 students are now receiving a higher education, which is 4,000 fewer than the same time a year ago.

Bob Caret, chancellor of the University System of Maryland, said the decrease was expected.

"The community colleges are significantly down because of the economy jobs are out there, unemployment is at a low and it just sort of fits together," Caret said.

Daleiden said, "Planned Parenthood, very intentionally and very strategically and with a lot of gamesmanship, filed this case specifically to get it in San Francisco in front of Judge William Orrick, who is an Obama appointee, who was a bundler for the Obama campaign for hundreds of thousands of dollars, is best friends with Tom Steyer — who's currently running for president, now — and Judge Orrick is actually the founder of a Planned Parenthood of Northern California clinic in San Francisco."

Daleiden added, "We tried to get him recused from this case several times a couple of years ago, and each time he or his peers in the federal judicial system looked the other way and kept him on, and Judge Orrick basically predetermined the outcome of this case from the very beginning of the trial."

J Inspector General Michael Horowitz is set to publicly testify to the Senate Judiciary Committee on December 11 about his investigation into FISA abuse.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) announced on Monday that Horowitz will discuss the findings of his investigation into DOJ and FBI's conduct

"I appreciate all the hard work by Mr. Horowitz and his team regarding the Carter Page FISA warrant application and the counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign," Graham said.

"Mr. Horowitz will be appearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on December 11, where he will deliver a detailed report of what he found regarding his investigation, along with recommendations as to how to make our judicial and investigative systems better," Graham added. "I look forward to hearing from him. He is a good man that has served our nation well."
