DC Mayor Says Arresting Pot Smokers At Inauguration Won’t Be A Priority Posted: 09 Jan 2017 10:00 PM PST If you're hoping to grab one of 4,200 free joints that will be passed out by a pro-marijuana legalization group on Inauguration Day, The Man probably won't be focused on hassling you for smoking up, Washington D.C.'s mayor says.
Jihadists Train, Plan U.S. Attack from Mexican Border State Posted: 09 Jan 2017 09:00 PM PST A Jihadi-cartel alliance in the Mexican state of Nuevo León is collaborating to carry out attacks in American cities and ports of entry along the southern border, according to intelligence obtained by Judicial Watch from confidential U.S. and Mexican law enforcement sources. As part of the plan, militant Islamists have arrived recently at the Monterrey International Airport situated in Apodaca, Nuevo León, about 130 miles south of the Texas border. An internal Mexican law enforcement report obtained by Judicial Watch confirms that Islamic terrorists have "people along the border, principally in Tijuana, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas." Cartel informants tell law enforcement contacts that "they are only waiting for the order and the times to carry out a simultaneous attack in the different ports of entry or cities of the United States of America." Drug cartels have a working "agreement" with Islamic terrorists, according to a high-ranking Mexican police administrator, who said that men from the Middle East arrive regularly into the country to "train" jihadists. Judicial Watch sources include veteran law enforcement officials in the U.S. and Mexico as well as longtime undercover informants who have worked for intelligence agencies in both countries, mainly in the crime-infested southern border region. They can't be identified out of fear for their safety. One seasoned Mexican law enforcement official told Judicial Watch that a key cartel informant verified picking up various Middle Eastern individuals from "evil groups" at the Monterrey Airport in the last few days alone. The informant is extremely credible and has also worked for several U.S. government agencies, Judicial Watch has verified through various federal, state and local sources. National Law Enforcement Day is acknowledged annually on January 9, when states and organizations across the country show their support for our nation's law enforcement officers. Government House will also be lit blue on the evening of January 9 in recognition and support of Maryland's law enforcement officials. "Maryland's law enforcement officers are some of the bravest and most courageous men and women in uniform anywhere in the country, and I am honored to declare today as Law Enforcement Appreciation Day in recognition of their complete dedication to the protection of our citizens," said Governor Hogan. "Every single day, our men and women in uniform selflessly put their lives on the line to make our communities safer. He also met with representatives from the Maryland Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors, an organization that provides resources for families and coworkers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
Young Obama Voter Says Race Relations Worse After 8 Years Of America’s First Black President Posted: 09 Jan 2017 08:00 PM PST Sadly, America's race relations are worse off under President Barack Obama, our first black president, says a passionate black graduate student who voted for him twice. She blames Obama's eight years of divisive governance spawning dangerous narratives of hate, not President-elect Donald Trump who is wrongly labeled by elites as divisive, even before taking office. Antonia Okafor rose to prominence because of her recent NRA ad, "I Didn't Listen." In this exclusive video interview for The Daily Caller News Foundation, she says she voted for Obama believing the false and dominant narrative being peddled through the black community that "just because he looks like me, he is best for me." She then realized that "his policies are harming me, not helping me." Now, she votes for policies, not the person. She casts herself as a black conservative and is optimistic about Trump's policies. The Trump victory, she thinks, was a broad cross-section of Americans of all races saying "enough" to the false narratives and overused labels being thrown at political opponents. As for the labels being thrown at GOP Sen. Jeff Sessions, Trump's nominee for attorney general, Okafor says they only remind her of the disturbing and ridiculous labels given to her, like "racist, misogynist and sexist" or "deplorable" for voting for Trump. Posted: 09 Jan 2017 07:30 PM PST This is certainly a different way to look at what is happening... One 82-year-old lady loves Obama and she may have a very good point. She says that Obama is amazing, and is rebuilding the American dream! She gives us an entirely new slant on the "amazing" job Obama is doing, and she says that she will thank God for the President. Keep reading for her additional comments and an explanation. When discussing Obama, she says: 1. Obama destroyed the Clinton Political Machine, driving a stake through the heart of Hillary's presidential aspirations - something no Republican was ever able to do. 2. Obama killed off the Kennedy Dynasty - no more Kennedys trolling Washington looking for booze and women wanting rides home. 3. Obama is destroying the Democratic Party before our eyes! Dennis Moore had never lost a race. Evan Bayh had never lost a race. Byron Dorgan had never lost a race. Harry Reid - soon to be GONE! These are just a handful of the Democrats whose political careers Obama has destroyed. By the end of 2016, dozens more will be gone. Just think, in December of 2008 the Democrats were on the rise. In two election cycles, they had picked up 14 Senate seats and 52 House seats. The press was touting the death of the Conservative Movement and the Republican Party. However, in just one term, Obama put a stop to all of this and gave the House and the Senate - back to the Republicans. 4. Obama has completely exposed liberals and progressives for what they are. Sadly, every generation seems to need to re-learn the lesson on why they should never actually put liberals in charge. Obama is bringing home the lesson very well: Liberals tax, borrow and spend. Liberals won't bring themselves to protect America. Liberals want to take over the economy Liberals think they know what is best for everyone. Liberals are not happy until they are running YOUR life. 5. Obama has brought more Americans back to conservatism than anyone since Reagan. In one term, he has rejuvenated the Conservative Movement and brought out to the streets millions of freedom loving Americans. Name one other time when you saw your friends and neighbors this interested in taking back America! 6. Obama, with his "amazing leadership, "has sparked the greatest period of sales of firearms and ammunition this country has seen. Law abiding citizens have rallied and have provided a "stimulus" to the sporting goods field while other industries have failed, faded, or moved off-shore. 7. In all honesty, 4 years ago I was more afraid than I have been in my life. Not afraid of the economy, but afraid of the direction our country was going. I thought, Americans have forgotten what this country is all about. My neighbors and friends, even strangers, have proved to me that my lack of confidence in the greatness and wisdom of the American people has been flat wrong. 8. When the American people wake up, no smooth talking teleprompter reader can fool them! Barack Obama has served to wake up these great Americans! Again, I want to say: "Thank you, Barack Obama!" After all, this is exactly the kind of hope and change we desperately needed!! 9. He has saved Carter's legacy and made Jimmy Carter happy, since Jimmy is no longer the worst president we've ever had. Credit goes to where credit is due. I feel better now! THANK YOU OBAMA

‘Knives Sticking Out Of My Back’: Global Warming Skeptic Tells Tucker Carlson Why She Left Academia Posted: 09 Jan 2017 07:00 PM PST Climatologist Dr. Judith Curry told Fox News host Tucker Carlson she was so sick of politicization of global warming in academia she resigned from her tenured position at Georgia Tech. "I've been vilified by some of my colleagues who are activists and don't like anybody challenging their big story," Curry told Carlson Friday night. "I walk around with knives sticking out of my back," she said. "In the university environment I felt like I was just beating my head against the wall." Curry, a skeptic that humans are causing catastrophic global warming, announced Tuesday she was retiring from academic life to focus more on her own climate analytics business and blogging. A big reason she decided to leave, though, had to do with the "craziness" of climate science. More/Video
Posted: 09 Jan 2017 06:30 PM PST Is there a single soul who is surprised that an Engineer came up with this. 10,535 pages reduced to 4 sentences. READ SLOWLY! Great summary by a Notre Dame University engineer......... Here are the 10,535 pages of Obama Care condensed to 4 simple sentences.. As humorous as it sounds.....every last word is absolutely TRUE! 1. In order to insure the uninsured, we first have to un-insure the insured. 2. Next, we require the newly un-insured to be re-insured. 3. To re-insure the newly un-insured, they are required to pay extra charges to be re-insured. 4. The extra charges are required so that the original insured, who became un-insured, and then became re-insured, can pay enough extra so that the original un-insured can be insured, 'free-of-charge' to them. This, ladies and gentlemen, is called "redistribution of wealth" or, by its more common name, SOCIALISM, or "PROGRESSIVISM", the politically correct names for COMMUNISM ! Wow! What a brilliant way to raise money to fund a free service. Aren't we lucky to have such a brilliant man leading us!
DC Lobbyist Behind Campaign To Solve Seth Rich Murder Mystery Posted: 09 Jan 2017 06:00 PM PST A Washington, D.C. lobbyist is offering the largest reward in D.C. history for the unsolved murder of Seth Rich, a Democratic National Committee (DNC) staffer gunned down over the summer. Attorney Jack Burkman is offering $105,000 of his own money for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. The D.C. Metropolitan Police is offering a $25,000 reward, and WikiLeaks announced it is also offering $20,000 for any information that leads to a conviction in the murder of Rich. Rich, 27, was the voter expansion data director at the DNC, according to Roll Call; he was employed for two years. Rich also worked on a computer application to help voters locate polling stations. According to police reports, officers patrolling the Bloomingdale neighborhood heard gunshots at around 4:20 a.m. on the morning of July 10, 2016. Officers discovered a "conscious and breathing" Rich on the 2100 block of Flagler Place NW. More
The Difference Between Treated and Non Treated Roads Posted: 09 Jan 2017 05:30 PM PST This image was taken today in Wicomico County. You can clearly see where the salt from Rt. 50 into the Royal Farms parking lot removes the snow/ice while the untreated county road remains frozen. So when you ask, why don't they salt the side roads then? Well, get out your tax dollars because you'd not only have to buy tons of salt, you'd have to also build a new facility to store the salt in.
Military guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns undaunted by snow Posted: 09 Jan 2017 05:00 PM PST The guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were undaunted by the D.C. region's first accumulating snowfall of 2017. Though the Arlington National Cemetery temporarily closed bus tours on Saturday due to slick conditions, the tomb sentinels remained vigilant and conducted a changing of the guard in front of a crowd. The Old Guard is the oldest active-duty infantry unit in the Army, serving since 1784, according to the Army. They keep a 24-hour vigil at the Tomb of the Unknowns (the official name). States with right-to-work laws and no income taxes grew fastest in the Obama years Posted: 09 Jan 2017 04:00 PM PST One highlight of the Christmas holiday season for me is the Census Bureau's release of its estimated population figures, as of July 1, for the 50 states and the District of Columbia. It's always interesting to see which states have grown the most in the past year: for 2015-16 the fastest growers were Nevada and Utah at 2 percent and Florida, Idaho and Washington at 1.8 percent. It's also interesting that an unusually large number — eight — of the states are estimated to have lost population in 2015-16: Connecticut, Illinois, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Wyoming. In percentage terms, the biggest loser was Illinois, the home state of the outgoing president. Sounds like there's some column material there. Public policies can make a difference in whether states grow — or, like Illinois, decline. You can see how by aggregating the population data for states according to whether they have state income taxes and whether they have right-to-work laws. The following tables show the populations of such states in the 2010 Census and the 2016 Census estimates, together with the population increases in numbers and percentage. Dr. Keith Ablow: Thanks for finally speaking out about Black on white violence, Mr. Obama but... Posted: 09 Jan 2017 03:00 PM PST The racial divide fanned by Barack Obama and former Attorney General Eric Holder has a new highlight reel, courtesy of four black adults in Chicago who allegedly held hostage a white man with special needs and humiliated, beat, slashed him, while screaming slurs about white people and Donald Trump. The video of their alleged crimes was streamed live on Facebook. Not everyone, of course, will agree that the President should be held to account for this hate crime, and the President did condemn it. But I think that when the President of the United States and former Attorney General repeatedly accused police officers (who were merely doing their jobs) of racial prejudice and when he failed to strongly condemn riots in Baltimore and elsewhere he set the stage for acts of perceived retribution by violent minority individuals. No President of the United States in recent history has ever shown more of an inclination to look the other way when cities burn, police officers are killed or, for that matter, when terrorists commit crimes against our nation (and are then set free by him from Guantanamo Bay). Because no President in recent history seems to have been gripped by such deep conviction that America—and, particularly, white America has so much about which to be ashamed and so much payback coming. The truth is that terrible crimes against black people have been committed by white criminals. But the President's psychological stance, on public display, has made equality look like the freedom for minorities to be hateful to other races, too. And that profound tragedy, as I see it, is Barack Obama's legacy, more than anything else. More
Census: Minority youth over take whites in 2020, 50% under 18 Posted: 09 Jan 2017 02:30 PM PST The population of politically influential whites in America is expected to shrink 14 percent, a shortfall that will be made up minorities who by 2020 will represent over 50 percent of all 18 year olds and younger, according to a new analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data. The Brookings Institution, in making the case for government spending and attention to the new minority-majority, revealed the Census expectations. The 2020 Census will show that more than half of Americans under age 18 are racial minorities. Going forward these groups along with African Americans will provide all of the nation's child population gains as well as all future gains in its labor force.
Former Senate Judiciary Committee Chief Counsel: Democrat Campaign Against Sessions ‘A Big Charade’ Posted: 09 Jan 2017 02:00 PM PST (CNSNews.com) -- William Smith, who was the first African American to serve as chief counsel for the Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee, says that the campaign that Democrats have launched to stop the confirmation of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R.-Ala.) to serve as attorney general--because of his alleged racial insensitivity--is a "big charade" designed to divert public attention from their policy differences with him. On Wednesday, Senate Assistant Minority Leader Dick Durbin (D-IL) told reporters that "elements" in Sessions' background "raise questions" about whether he should be confirmed as attorney general. But William Smith, who was hired by then-ranking member Sessions as his chief counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee and who is currently chief of staff for Rep. Gary Palmer (R-AL), says that he has never witnessed any examples of racist behavior by Sessions during the two decades he has worked with him. "Even the Democrats know that – this is all a big charade because they object to Sen. Session's policy views and don't want to debate the issues in public," Smith told CNSNews.com. "They are afraid he might actually take the politicalization out of the Department of Justice and actually enforce the laws on the books, such as the immigration and marijuana laws." Smith called Sessions "an outstanding senator and an even better person. He's a very kind man with high character and high integrity who is very generous with his time and caring with his staff." Man sentenced to 22 years in prison for stealing TV remote Posted: 09 Jan 2017 01:30 PM PST A man has been sentenced to more than two decades behind bars, all over a stolen TV remote. Eric Bramwell of Illinois was convicted and sentenced to 22 years in prison. He was arrested after a universal TV remote was stolen from the common area of an apartment complex. While that doesn't sound like much, because of Bramwell's past criminal history, he was eligible for up to 30 years in prison. This wasn't the first remote the 35-year-old was accused of stealing. Prosecutors claim he committed similar thefts of remotes and TVs in several other complexes. More
Ebony Magazine Editor: Hate Crimes Can’t Be Committed Against White People, Cops Posted: 09 Jan 2017 01:00 PM PST On Wednesday, Ebony Magazine's Jamilah Lemieux criticized the use of the phrase "hate crime" in association with the five white Dallas police officers who were killed claiming that using the phrase with a "majority group… gets into very tricky territory." Appearing on "CNN Newsroom" with guest host Ana Cabrera, Lemieux said, "I have to say, I would not describe hate crime as the most comfortable word choice, considering these circumstances. There's so much that we do not know about what took place, what motivated this person. We only have the one account of law enforcement. We haven't had the opportunity to really look into his history in a meaningful way." More/Video

Ocean City eyes purchase of custom ‘dream’ trash truck Posted: 09 Jan 2017 12:30 PM PST A trash truck is not just a trash truck, especially in Ocean City, where the Public Works Department is shopping for a one-of-a-kind collection vehicle that would not be cheap. Last month, the City Council accepted for further review three proposals to build a single custom truck that would collect trash from the 800 barrels on the beach that are now being emptied by three relics of the 1990s. During last April's budget discussions, resort officials agreed to put $235,000 in the vehicle trust fund to replace the decades-old Broyhill Barrel Dumpers, which have detachable trash containers that are dropped off at the Public Works employees station at 65th Street. Even with the three trucks, more than one run each is required to empty all the barrels. The city bought the three Broyhill trucks in the 1990s at $75,000 apiece, but replacing them today would cost an estimated $459,000. More

Posted: 09 Jan 2017 11:30 AM PST The holiday wreaths have come down, the Christmas trees are being removed from the State House and the 188 members of the Maryland General Assembly are due back in Annapolis this Wednesday for the start of a 90-day session. As always the budget will dominate much of the debate, with news of a projected $800-million shortfall over the next two years. Democrats are expected to override Governor Larry Hogan's veto of a bill to expand the use of renewable energy. There will also be very heated debates over education spending, and potential limits to the Governor's power. Senate President Mike Miller told Maryland's News This Week that he doesn't think this year's session will be any more partisan than usual, but he says Democrats will scrutinize Governor Larry Hogan's budget. He says Democrats will work to protect education funding, and aid to the poor. More
Fiat Chrysler announces $1 billion investment in U.S. manufacturing, 2,000 new jobs Posted: 09 Jan 2017 11:00 AM PST Fiat Chrysler said Sunday it would spend $1 billion on U.S. manufacturing, including modernizing plants in Michigan and Ohio, in a move that's set to add 2,000 new jobs, Reuters reported. According to the company's plan, the plant in Warren, Michigan will be made capable of producing a pickup truck currently built in Mexico. The Warren plant will make the new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer large SUVs. A plant in Toledo, Ohio also will get new equipment to make a new Jeep pickup. The move by Fiat Chrysler follows a similar recent announcement made by a competing auto brand. On Tuesday, Ford said it would cancel a $1.6 billion plant planned for Mexico and instead invest $700 million in a Michigan assembly plant. Though CEO Mark Fields said the decision would have gone ahead whether or not Donald Trump was elected president, Fields also said Trump's "pro-growth policies" gave the company's executives confidence. (AP) — The view from the observation deck over a meadow of brown marsh grasses would make a nice postcard. Eagles roost on tall pines, muskrats burrow in mounds of mud and straw, and black ducks splash in a pond. But on a cold and drizzly day, Matt Whitbeck surveys the landscape with concern. Beyond the marsh is what the Fish and Wildlife Service biologist calls "Lake Blackwater." "It's this beautiful body of open water," he says. "When you really start to think about why this is here, it's disturbing." The area was once an uninterrupted prairie of aquatic grasses. But waters have risen more than a foot over the past century, drowning the native plants and converting nearly eight square miles of marsh into open water. More
Posted: 09 Jan 2017 10:00 AM PST When is the rest of the Western world going to catch up with Donald Trump and point out that the green emperor is wearing no clothes? I ask as a concerned UK taxpayer absolutely sick to death of the vast sums of money that continue to be funneled into the pockets of crooks, liars, spivs, chancers, con-artists and fantasists in the name of solving the non-existent problem of "climate change." Let me give you some examples of what I mean. Wales's £18 million tidal energy flop If there's one thing, everyone who thinks of themselves as reasonable and well-informed knows, tidal power is the thing. How do they know this? Well, because they're aware that the wind and solar power have their flaws but their hearts tell them that renewable energy must be a good thing because it's clean and it's free so therefore they've decided to pin their hopes on the technology whose crispness hasn't been tested yet – and that means tidal. Also, they'll have read thinly-disguised press releases like this article First full-scale tidal generator in Wales unveiled: Deltastream array to power 10,000 homes using ebb and flow of the ocean and gone: "Well they wouldn't print stuff like that unless it were true, would they?" But now, surprise surprise, this tidal project – subsidized to the tune of £8 million by the European Union, with another £500,000 from the Welsh government – is lying in ruins on the Pembrokeshire seabed because the company that ran it – Tidal Energy Ltd – has gone into administration. It failed after just three months of operation. More
Why revolution worked in America but not Europe Posted: 09 Jan 2017 09:53 AM PST Bill Federer recounts unexpected truth of nation's successful governance "May God save the country, for it is obvious the people will not." – Millard Fillmore Millard Fillmore was elected to the U.S. Congress in 1832, the same year the Paris riots took place which were described in Victor Hugo's novel "Les Miserables." Comparing the American Revolution with France's numerous revolutions and riots, President Fillmore stated in his third annual message, Dec. 6, 1852: "Our own free institutions were not the offspring of our Revolution. They existed before. They were planted in the free charters of self-government under which the English colonies grew up, and our Revolution only freed us from the dominion of a foreign power whose government was at variance with those institutions. But European nations have had no such training for self-government, and every effort to establish it by bloody revolutions has been, and must without that preparation continue to be, a failure. …" President Fillmore added: "Liberty unregulated by law degenerates into anarchy, which soon becomes the most horrid of all despotisms. … We owe these blessings, under Heaven, to the happy Constitution and Government which were bequeathed to us by our fathers, and which it is our sacred duty to transmit in all their integrity to our children." Conway to Biden: Thanks, Your 'Failed Policies' Allowed Us to Usher in the Trump Era Posted: 09 Jan 2017 09:23 AM PST They lost the election in 2010, 2014, 2016 Friday on Fox News Channel's, "The O'Reilly Factor," President-elect Donald Trump's adviser Kellyanne Conway reacted to Vice President Joe Biden telling Trump to "grow up. Time to be an adult. You're president." According to Conway, it was Trump's policies that made it possible for Trump to be president. Conway said, "It's really disappointing to hear the vice president speak that way, not surprising. To what is he referring, the fact that his Democratic party under his watch, he's been the number two guy in the country and in the Democratic Party, they lost over 1,000 state legislative seats, they lost over a dozen governorships, a dozen senators, they lost 68 House seats since he got there. They lost the election in 2010, 2014, 2016. In large part because of the policies he supports like the awful unaffordable, inaccessible care act, Obamacare."

Massive Obamacare Scandal Rocks America… Taxpayers Lose Millions! Posted: 09 Jan 2017 09:07 AM PST This really will NOT make your day. Obamacare has drained so much money from the wallet of the average American that it's not even funny. Rather, it's disgustingly insane. The faster Trump and Co. can get rid of this deeply flawed healthcare system, the better. Now we've got yet another reason to hope for a speedy repeal. According to HotAir citing a new report from the Inspector General of HHS, it seems the federal government wants a refund of nearly $10 million…why? Oh, because they've discovered the state of Colorado can't adequately account for millions it received to help implement the Affordable Care Act: "The report, issued last week by the Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Inspector General, found – among other things – Connect for Health Colorado failed to properly document how it spent $4.4 million of taxpayer money. It also concluded as much as $4.5 million was spent on services and items that were not permitted under guidelines established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Posted: 09 Jan 2017 09:00 AM PST One trillion dollars—that's how much the government spent last year on means-tested welfare aid, providing cash, food, housing, medical care, and social services to poor and low-income individuals. The food stamp program is the nation's second largest welfare program. The number of food stamp recipients has risen dramatically, from 17.2 million in 2000 to 45.8 million in 2015. Costs have soared over the same period, from $20.7 billion in 2000 to $83.1 billion in 2014. The most rapid growth in the food stamp caseload in recent years has been among able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWDs). These are work-capable adult recipients between the ages of 18 and 49 who do not have children or other dependents to support. The Need for Work Requirements Since 2008, the food stamp caseload of adults without dependents who are able-bodied has more than doubled nationally, swelling from nearly 2 million recipients in 2008 to around 5 million today. They gained notoriety when Fox News aired a documentary on food stamps featuring 29-year-old Jason Greenslate, a Californian who reported that he spends his time surfing and playing in his rock band, all the while receiving benefits from the food stamp program. In response to the growth in food stamp dependence, Maine's governor, Paul LePage, recently established work requirements on recipients who are without dependents and able-bodied. In Maine, all able-bodied adults without dependents in the food stamp program are now required to take a job, participate in training, or perform community service. More
Fake News Plus Fascism: New York Times Urges Boycott of Breitbart Posted: 09 Jan 2017 08:45 AM PST In two op-ed articles for the New York Times' Sunday Review, the Gray Lady attacks Breitbart News and its founder, Andrew Breitbart, and encourages an effort to "destroy" the company by appealing directly to advertisers not to support the website. One article, "How to Destroy the Business Model of Breitbart and Fake News," written by someone actually called "Pagan Kennedy" (was "Antichrist Roosevelt" not available?) celebrates the flagging effort of anonymous Twitter trolls who have tried to target and intimidate companies whose ads appear alongside Breitbart News articles, via third party platforms. These would-be censors of the totalitarian left have decided that since they cannot defeat conservative views and arguments on the merits, they would prefer to eliminate them. The Times, which prides itself as a guardian of free speech and press freedom, gives its backing to this (unsuccessful) campaign with nearly 2,000 words of space. The article includes instructions on how to join the anti-Breitbart effort, copied verbatim — "Step 1… Step 2…" — from the anonymous activists' Twitter page. And Breitbart News, the "biggest fish," is not the last intended target: the group declares that it "would like to broaden its campaign to take on a menagerie of bad actors." Behind the scenes: Protestors prepare for Inauguration Day Posted: 09 Jan 2017 08:30 AM PST WASHINGTON — Preparations continue for the Jan. 20 presidential inauguration. The inaugural platform is in place on the west front of the Capitol and so are the bleacher seats along the inaugural parade route. Even the protesters are getting ready. Activists are spending time this weekend plastering posters across the District to alert the public to their planned demonstration. "We send out teams, about three people in a car, and they go on a street like Rhode Island Avenue, and they just go up and down and put the posters up," said Sarah Sloan of D.C., an organizer with the Answer Coalition, a group that holds permits to demonstrate at two sites along the inaugural parade route. Sharpton Promises ‘Season of Civil Disobedience’ Posted: 09 Jan 2017 08:15 AM PST Al Sharpton promised a "season of civil disobedience" in reaction to the nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) for attorney general in the Trump administration. Sharpton, an MSNBC host, said activists have planned a march in Washington on Jan. 14 during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend to protest the Sessions nomination. Sharpton recalled spending 90 days in jail for protesting on U.S. Navy land against military exercises on the island of Vieques in 2001 when George W. Bush was president, adding that civil disobedience usually works because it changes policy. "We're not just doing this to be doing it. We do it because it can lead to change and, believe me, there will be a season of civil disobedience particularly around the Sessions nomination," he said Friday on a conference call with other civil rights organizations' leaders such as Cornell William Brooks, president and CEO of the NAACP, and Janet Murguia, president and CEO of the National Council of La Raza. U.S. Navy destroyer fires warning shots at Iranian vessels -U.S. officials Posted: 09 Jan 2017 08:07 AM PST WASHINGTON, Jan 9 (Reuters) - A U.S. Navy destroyer fired three warning shots at four Iranian fast-attack vessels after they closed in at a high rate of speed near the Strait of Hormuz, two U.S. defense officials told Reuters on Monday. The incident, which occurred Sunday and was first reported by Reuters, comes as U.S. President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office on Jan. 20. In September, Trump vowed that any Iranian vessels that harass the U.S. Navy in the Gulf would be "shot out of the water." The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the USS Mahan established radio communication with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps boats but they did not respond to requests to slow down and continued asking the Mahan questions. The Navy destroyer fired warning flares and a U.S. Navy helicopter also dropped a smoke float before the warning shots were fired. More
Over a million PA Arabs plan to leave Israel Posted: 09 Jan 2017 08:00 AM PST More Arabs are leaving Judea and Samaria every year reported an Arab48 journalist, referring to Areas A and B, under Palestinian Authority control. "A guy named Ahmad told me there were 44 kids in his high school class, all of them from Kfar Ramon. Only four of them still live there, the rest moved to the United States," the journalist said. "There are no more celebrations, because there are no more young people. What will they celebrate, who will put people on their shoulders? In our village, there used to be 14,000 people, but 10,000 emigrated to the US, 2,000 emigrated to Jordan, and there are only 2,500 people left (sic)." Most of those who emigrate are under 30, single, and jobless. 90% are Muslim Arabs, and the other 10% are Christian Arabs. And only 27% of Arab youth consider themselves to be politically active. The vast majority of Arabs who leave Israel emigrate to either the United States or South America. More
Judicial Watch Continues Fight against Maryland Gerrymandering in US Supreme Court Posted: 09 Jan 2017 07:45 AM PST Judicial Watch filed a brief in the U. S. Supreme Court in response to Maryland's attempt to retain its current gerrymandered voter districting plan. Judicial Watch is seeking a decision from the high court that would reverse a Maryland district court decision. The filing was the latest development in a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch in 2015, arguing that the controversial redistricting plan is unconstitutional because it transferred "the power to select congressional representatives from Maryland's voters to legislators" (Parrot et al., v. Lamone et al. (No 16-588). The lawsuit was filed on behalf of voters across Maryland, including Maryland Delegates Neil C. Parrott, Matt Morgan and former Ambassador Ellen Sauerbrey (Parrott et al, v. Lamone, et al (No. 1:15-cv-01849)). In August 2016, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland ruled for the state in dismissing the plaintiffs' claims. Judicial Watch filed an appeal with the Supreme Court in October 2016. The state filed its Motion to Affirm the District Court's ruling in early December. And on December 20, Judicial Watch filed its Brief Opposing the Motion to Affirm. Judicial Watch argues that there is a causal connection between "noncompact" districts and gerrymandering: To obtain an electoral advantage, "mapmakers need to arrange both their own partisans and those of their electoral opponents in particular district configurations…." But "voters do not choose where to live so as to suit the purposes of legislators trying to draw gerrymandered districts…." This is why "legislators must distort district boundaries to create districts that contain the mix of voters that best achieves . . . partisan goals." In referring to Maryland's "wildly deformed" congressional district plan, Judicial Watch further argues that Maryland's gerrymandered district plan produces split counties, county fragments and split precincts. The Maryland congressional redistricting plan was signed into law by then-Governor Martin O'Malley in October 2011. More

Judicial Watch Uncovers State Department Records Confirming Arab Smuggling “Cells” in Mexico. Posted: 09 Jan 2017 07:15 AM PST [This story originally published on JANUARY 13, 2016] For more than a decade the U.S. government has known that "Arab extremists" are entering the country through Mexico with the assistance of smuggling network "cells," according to State Department documents obtained by Judicial Watch that reveal among them was a top Al Qaeda operative wanted by the FBI. Some Mexican smuggling networks actually specialize in providing logistical support for Arab individuals attempting to enter the United States, the government documents say. The top Al Qaeda leader in Mexico was identified in the September 2004 cable from the American consulate in Ciudad Juárez as Adnan G. El Shurkrjumah. The cable was released to Judicial Watch under the Freedom of Information Act. The new intelligence records were released as a result of an ongoing JW investigation into the critical national security threats on the southern border, specifically those created by Islamic terrorists teaming up with Mexican drug cartels to infiltrate and attack the U.S. In response to JW's reporting in the last two years the Obama administration—through various spokespeople, including FBI Director James Comey—has vehemently denied that Islamic terrorists are operating in Mexican towns near American cities or entering the U.S. through the famously porous southern border. The State Department documents, which include substantial redactions supposedly to protect classified and personal information, contradict this. More here
Democrats wage anti-Trump offensive for their own gain Posted: 09 Jan 2017 07:00 AM PST This is a first: Donald Trump is guilty of an understatement, of making a molehill out of a mountain. He called the Washington furor over Russian hacking a "witch hunt" when it is actually far more sinister and dangerous. Witch hunts end. The Washington mob aims to make sure the election never ends and that Trump can never govern. There are no modern precedents to the scandalous attempts to smear and undermine the president-elect. Nearly nine weeks after his victory and less than two weeks before he takes the oath, the voter-nullification plot is growing more vile. It began when the Clinton campaign and her donors tried to overturn results in key states, then tried to steal the election outright by intimidating electors of the Electoral College. When all that failed, the establishment forces that opposed Trump all along — the Obama White House, members of both parties, the Democratic media and Big Government activists — switched their goal to thwarting his presidency. One example: They aim to deny confirmation to as many as eight Cabinet picks. This is not mere politics. This is half the country going rogue in a fit of madness. More

Angry Trump Demands Congressional Probe Into NBC Leak Of Top Secret Intelligence Report Posted: 09 Jan 2017 06:45 AM PST On Thursday evening, during one of his latest Tweetstorms, Trump criticized leaks to several media outlets detailing contents of the classified Russian hacking report which Trump is set to go over any minute. The leaks came before Trump's own briefing on those details by the intelligence community. The 50-page report was delivered to US President Barack Obama on Thursday, and is to be delivered to President-elect Donald Trump on Friday by top intelligence officials, including Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and CIA Director John Brennan, the Washington Post reports, one of several outlets that were given priority over the president-elect in learning the details of the document. CNN and NBC News also reported on the classified report, sparking outrage from Trump."How did NBC get 'an exclusive look into the top secret report he (Obama) was presented?' Who gave them this report and why? Politics!" Trump said in a tweet. Then, moments ago, following his interview with the NYT this morning in which he suggested that the storm surrounding Russian hacking during the presidential campaign is "a political witch hunt" being carried out by his adversaries, who he said were embarrassed by their loss to him in the election last year, and just prior to the debriefing by US intelligence agencies meant to prove to Trump once and for all that Putin was indeed responsible for his election, an angry Trump doubled down and tweeted that he is "asking the chairs of the House and Senate committees to investigate top secret intelligence shared with NBC prior to me seeing it."

Trump: Only ‘stupid’ people, fools oppose better Russia ties Posted: 09 Jan 2017 06:30 AM PST NEW YORK (AP) — President-elect Donald Trump said Saturday that "only 'stupid' people or fools" would dismiss closer ties with Russia, and he seemed unswayed after his classified briefing on an intelligence report that accused Moscow of meddling on his behalf in the election that catapulted him to power. "Having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing," Trump said in a series of tweets. He added, "We have enough problems without yet another one," and said Russians would respect "us far more" under his administration than they do with Barack Obama in the White House. Trump repeatedly has questioned the assessment by American intelligence agencies that the Kremlin interfered in the 2016 election, and a classified report presented to him Friday seemed to have little changed his thinking. Rep. Duncan Hunter: Trump's ‘beautiful’ wall-- here's what he's gotta get right Posted: 09 Jan 2017 06:23 AM PST Donald Trump's proclamation that he would build a "wall" along the U.S.-Mexico border was a major selling point in his campaign for the presidency. It was this commitment that helped propel Trump to the forefront of a crowded field of primary opponents either unwilling or hesitant to back the idea, and it no less helped distinguish him significantly from Hillary Clinton on a major political issue important to Americans not just in border states, but nationwide. It will soon be show-time for Trump, who will step into the Oval Office just weeks from now with high expectations, and there is no doubt that millions of Americans are eager to see him follow through on this promise—as with many others. In 2006, Congress passed and President George W. Bush signed into the law the Secure Fence Act, mandating the construction of more than 700 miles of border fencing along the Southwest border. The law was predicated on replicating the success of the San Diego border fence, which starts at the Pacific Ocean and extends inland approximately 14-miles. The design in San Diego is simple yet extremely effective. Built in the mid-1990's, the San Diego border fence consists of two layers of fencing, separated by a high-speed border patrol road and equipped with all the bells and whistles to give the Border Patrol every advantage to respond to illegal crossings. In short order, the San Diego border fence ceased drug vehicle drive-thrus and reduced the smuggling of people and narcotics by 90 percent, according to law enforcement statistics. But the Bush administration had other ideas. Once the prospect of amnesty unraveled, so did the Bush administration's interest in fulfilling the mandates of the Secure Fence Act. So what did the Bush administration do?
Federal Worker Union Is Blocking Republican VA Reforms Posted: 09 Jan 2017 06:15 AM PST President-elect Donald Trump promised to fire incompetent and dishonest Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) employees, but he will have to fight the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) — the largest federal worker union — every step of the way. During the 115th Congress, Trump — along with Republican majorities in both the Senate and House of Representatives — can enact sweeping reforms to improve every department and agency in the federal workplace. Republicans controlled the 114th Congress, too, but outgoing Democratic President Barack Obama routinely threatened to veto GOP proposals. Trump and AFGE already share some history. When the GOP presidential candidate proposed expanding a VA program that lets veterans get private medical care, AFGE quickly blasted the idea. "Donald Trump wants to throw veterans to the wolves. Private health care for veterans would be an expensive disaster, and no one should be fooled into believing otherwise," said AFGE National President J. David Cox Sr. As a first order of business, Trump will appoint a new Secretary of Veteran Affairs who will negotiate the "master agreement" between the department and the 360,000 workers there, mainly represented by AFGE. The new VA secretary hasn't been selected yet, but experience in dealing with unions might be most relevant in selecting somebody capable of changing the department's abysmal culture. It's The Debt, Stupid - Massive Borrowing Binge Producing Fake Recovery Posted: 09 Jan 2017 05:45 AM PST Obviously they're all favorable, with the possible exception of German inflation – though even that is "welcome". Taken together they paint a picture of a global economy that's finally returning to the kind of solid growth and steady, positive inflation that most people consider both normal and good. Unfortunately, the reason for the improvement is emphatically not good: In 2016 the world borrowed a huge amount of money and spent the proceeds. The result is "growth," but not sustainable growth. Consider: Federal Debt in FY 2016 Jumped $1.4 Trillion, or $12,036 Per Household (CNSNews.com) – In fiscal 2016, which ended on Friday, the federal debt increased $1,422,827,047,452.46, according to data released today by the U.S. Treasury. At the close of business on Sept. 30, 2015, the last day of fiscal 2015, the federal debt was $18,150,617,666,484.33, according to the Treasury. Is Obama Planning Something? ALL U.S. Aircraft Carriers Currently Sitting In Port Against Protocol Posted: 09 Jan 2017 05:30 AM PST In what can only be described as a treasonous act, Obama has demanded that the entire U.S. Navy aircraft carrier group return to port for no reason whatsoever. They are now sitting ducks should a Nation seek to carry out an attack. According to information displayed on GoNavy.jp , the Obama Administration has ordered every single active U.S. aircraft carrier home. "The Eisenhower's replacement carrier, the USS George H.W. Bush, was delayed by more than six months in the shipyards and will not be able to replace the Ike until early" 2017, Navy officials say. "The aircraft carrier USS Nimitz welcomed Boy Scout Troop 1498, from Sequim, on the first community tour since the ship completed a 21-month extended incremental maintenance period at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard" last Thursday, according to the Kitsap Sun, and still remains in port. The "Nimitz is currently pier-side preparing for the Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) material inspection that is scheduled through February. The ship is slated for a 2017 deployment." "San Diego-based ships and sailors attached to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson's strike group are scheduled to leave for deployment" later this week, KPBS.org reports, marking one of the only carriers to soon be deployed. "Heading out to sea will be the Carl Vinson, cruiser USS Lake Champlain and destroyer Wayne E. Meyer. The Hawaii-based destroyer Michael Murphy will join them later." The USS Theodore Roosevelt is currently stowed up in a San Diego port and is still undergoing extensive repairs. More

How George Soros Destroyed the Democratic Party Posted: 09 Jan 2017 05:00 AM PST It was the end of the big year with three zeroes. The first X-Men movie had broken box office records. You couldn't set foot in a supermarket without listening to Brittney Spears caterwauling, "Oops, I Did It Again." And Republicans and Democrats had total control of both chambers of legislatures in the same amount of states. That was the way it was back in the distant days of the year 2000. In 2016, Republicans control both legislative chambers in 32 states. That's up from 16 in 2000. What happened to the big donkey? Among other things, the Democrats decided to sell their base and their soul to a very bad billionaire and they got a very bad deal for both. It was 2004. The poncho was the hottest fashion trend, there were 5 million new cases of AIDS and a former Nazi collaborator had bought the Democrat Party using the spare change in his sofa cushions. And gone to war against the will of the people. This was what he modestly called his own "Soros Doctrine". "It is the central focus of my life," George Soros declared. It was "a matter of life and death." He vowed that he would become poor if it meant defeating the President of the United States. Instead of going to the poorhouse, he threw in at least $15 million, all the spare change in the billionaire's sofa cushions, dedicated to beating President Bush. In his best lisping James Bond villain accent, Soros strode into the National Press Club and declared that he had "an important message to deliver to the American Public before the election" that was contained in a pamphlet and a book that he waved in front of the camera. Despite his "I expect you to die, Mr. Bond" voice, the international villain's delivery was underwhelming. He couldn't have sold brownies to potheads at four in the morning. He couldn't even sell Bush-bashing to a roomful of left-wing reporters. But he could certainly fund those who would. And that's exactly what he did. More here

That's a question the state's highest court is considering, hearing arguments Friday in the case of Thomas Gerhardt, who was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after a February 2013 traffic stop off Route 146. "Like alcohol, marijuana usage at this point is so widespread — it is in the common experience of a juror — that an expert is not required," Worcester prosecutor Michelle King argued before the Supreme Judicial Court. Public defender Rebecca Jacobstein argued experts are necessary witnesses at trial to explain a police officer's observations of an allegedly stoned driver, and said roadside impairment tests used to identify drunk drivers are not suitable to detect marijuana intoxication. "There are no physical characteristics that permit an inference of impaired driving due to marijuana use, and a layperson does not have sufficient understanding of marijuana's physical manifestations," Jacobstein told the justices. "What if he stumbles and he says, 'Oh my goodness, I just had five joints,'" said Justice David Lowy. "Do you need an expert?" "You still do," Jacobstein replied. More

Judicial Watch Uncovers Another Obama Administration Email Scandal Posted: 09 Jan 2017 02:30 AM PST Many officials in the Obama administration, and not just Hillary Clinton, improperly used personal email accounts to conduct official business. And we are concerned that they will destroy these emails when they leave office this month. For that reason, we asked a federal court to preserve the personal email accounts of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and other top officials. Judge Randolph D. Moss held a court hearing this week. We had filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit seeking agency records in the personal email accounts used by Secretary Johnson, Deputy Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Chief of Staff Christian Marrone, and General Counsel Stevan Bunnell to conduct official government business. The lawsuit has already uncovered documents showing that Johnson and other top DHS officials were exempted from a strict ban placed on web-based personal email accounts despite heightened security concerns. The order for the hearing follows a Motion for Preservation Order filed by Judicial Watch on December 22. In that filing Judicial Watch asked the court to issue a preservation order for the non-.gov emails of Johnson, Mayorkas and Bunnell because their departure from government service is anticipated upon the installation of the new administration and Homeland Security will no longer have any control over these individuals: More here
