Nammo to Bring More Than 130 New Manufacturing Jobs to Naval Surface Warefare Center Indian Head

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 09:00 PM PST

Company will invest more than $30 million to manufacture rocket motors and warheads, demilitarize aging explosive devices

ANNAPOLIS, MD –
The Nammo Group, based in Norway, will bring more than 130 new manufacturing jobs to Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Indian Head in Southern Maryland over the next five years. As part of an agreement signed today, Nammo Energetics Indian Head, a Maryland corporation, will partner with the installation's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (EODTD) to establish both a solid rocket motor and tactical warhead production facility, as well as an energetics demilitarization operation at Indian Head. The company plans to invest more than $23 million in renovations to existing facilities on the base and an additional $7 million in new equipment.

"The Public Private Partnership Agreement is a unique opportunity for Nammo to become part of the U.S. National Technology Industrial Base," said Morten Brandtzæg, CEO of the Nammo Group. "Our priority number one will be to create a sustainable and highly competitive operation at Indian Head with a strong focus on our core capabilities and competences – creating jobs in Maryland."

"Nammo's $30 million investment in Maryland manufacturing – and the addition of more than 130 new jobs – is confirmation of the positive business climate our administration set out to establish two years ago," said Governor Hogan. "In December, I had a very productive meeting with President Brandtzæg in Annapolis, during which he briefed me on plans for Indian Head. I am very pleased to welcome him and Nammo to our state on a permanent basis and appreciate the positive impact their presence will have on Southern Maryland's economy."

Congressman Steny Hoyer, Norwegian Ambassador Kåre R. Aas, Maryland Commerce Secretary Mike Gill, and county officials witnessed the official signing of the partnership agreement between Nammo, represented by Morten Brandtzaeg, and Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head EODTD Commanding Officer Captain Scott Kraft.

"In addition to performing critical work for the nation's defense, Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head contributes nearly $545 million to Maryland's economy," said Secretary Gill. "Nammo's manufacturing facility will enhance Indian Head's capabilities, as well as the installation's economic impact on Maryland. This is good news for our aerospace and defense industry, for Indian Head and Charles County, and for Maryland."

To assist with the project, the Maryland Department of Commerce approved a $400,000 conditional loan through the Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority and Fund (MEDAAF). Nammo may also be eligible for Job Creation Tax Credits.

The company will employ four people this year and grow to as many as 221 – including some personnel currently stationed at Indian Head – by 2020. Nammo will pursue research and development opportunities for new materials and techniques, using the combined resources of both Nammo Energetics Indian Head and NSWC Indian Head.

"Charles County is honored to be home to this new Nammo-NSWC partnership," said Charles County Commissioner President Peter F. Murphy. "This agreement brings significant job opportunities to our residents and strengthens Indian Head's position to continue next-generation research and development for decades to come."

"We are privileged to play a role in facilitating such an important project that supports the base and the Town of Indian Head, in addition to its remarkable economic benefits," said Charles County Economic Development Director Darrell A. Brown.

How a hoax website about paid protesters came crumbling down live on TV

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 08:00 PM PST

The website for an organization calling itself Demand Protest made its mission pretty clear: "When your strategy demands paid protest, we organize and bring it to life." Billing itself as a group that generated the "appearance of outrage" on behalf of left-wing causes, the existence of Demand Protest became an attractive story for many right-wing media outlets. The group, it appeared, was proof that dissent against Trump was manufactured by shady leftist organizations, and could be lucrative: one Backpage.com ad placed in Demand Protest's name promised a full-time job that paid a $2,500 retainer, plus $50/hr., and benefits.

It was the perfect story to share, if you're inclined to believe that anti-Trump protesters must be getting paid to be there. Something to that effect has long been in the canon of largely unsubstantiated rumors circulating on the Trump Internet. A well-known fake news writer even fabricated an "interview" with a protester who said he was paid $3,500 to protest at a Trump rally — a story that was shared on Twitter by Trump's then-campaign manager. And like that made-up story, it also appears that Demand Protest is a made-up group, one that fooled quite a few news sources before being dramatically debunked on-air by Tucker Carlson.

Here's an incomplete look at how we got here: a few days ago, the Gateway Pundit wrote a piece titled "BREAKING: Far Left Group Is Paying Activists a Monthly Salary to Stop TRUMP," and cited 4Chan in mentioning a possible link between Demand Protest and George Soros.InfoWars was a bit more skeptical, hedging their story on Demand Protest as a "report" and writing that "it's unclear if the DemandProtest.com website is actually legitimate." The Washington Times also credulously reported on the Backpage ads. Breitbart, meanwhile, used the ads as evidence in an article that suggested that fears of pro-Trump inauguration violence was "fake news."

"The facts tell a different story," the Breitbart article says. "The left is gearing up for war, and hiring mercenaries."

Talbot Co. Man Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 07:30 PM PST

(EASTON, MD) – Maryland State Police criminal investigators have charged a Talbot County man with multiple counts of possession of child pornography as a result of an Internet crimes investigation.

The suspect is identified as Harry H. Rieck III, 59, of Easton, Md. He is charged with ten counts of possession of child pornography. Rieck was charged on a criminal summons, which was served on him yesterday after he responded to the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack.

The investigation began in November 2016, when Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division investigators assigned to the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received information about an Internet user actively downloading images of child pornography online, using a peer-to-peer network. The investigation led to the identification of a residence and a search warrant was obtained. Investigators served a search warrant in mid-December 2016 at the residence and recovered computers and related electronic equipment belonging to the suspect.

A forensic preview was conducted at the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit forensic laboratory. Investigators found multiple images of known child pornography. State Police investigators applied for criminal charges and a criminal summons was issued.

The forensic examination of the computer equipment is continuing. Additional charges are possible.

The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is comprised of police agencies from around the State. Its primary mission is to protect children from computer-facilitated sexual exploitation. The Task Force works cooperatively with law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to provide resources to combat these crimes. Additionally, the Task Force provides community awareness campaigns helping to prevent the spread of these crimes through education.

Obamacare vs. Affordable Care Act #2

See the button House Democrats wore to Trump’s inauguration

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 06:30 PM PST

On the day Donald Trump officially became president of the United States, Democrats still remained steadfastly opposed to the billionaire businessman's proposals.

During the inaugural ceremony Friday, many House Democrats wore buttons emblazoned with the hashtag #ProtectOurCare, calling out Republicans and Trump for their promise to overthrow former President Barack Obama's signature health care legislation, the Affordable Care Act.

"Members wanted to wear a sign of solidarity with the Affordable Care Act at the inauguration," Drew Hammill, a spokesman for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), told Talking Points Memo.

Pence Says 'Obamacare' Users Should Have 'No Anxiety' About Losing Insurance

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 04:30 PM PST

(WASHINGTON) -- Vice President–elect Mike Pence assured Americans currently covered by the Affordable Care Act that they "should have no anxiety about losing their insurance."

"Any American who has insurance today, through an 'Obamacare' exchange or through the Obama plan itself, should have no anxiety about losing their insurance," Pence told ABC News' Martha Raddatz in an interview today. "We're committed to an orderly transition, to a new and better health insurance set of reforms that are going to work for every American, just like the president-elect said."

Pence said he anticipates a plan to replace "Obamacare" will be brought forward in the "early weeks" of the new administration.

"Right now, literally as we speak, our policy team is working with leaders in the House and the Senate and some Democrats coming together to fashion that replace plan," he said.

 Legislative Weekly Wrap-Up

January 18, 2017
I am excited to welcome Colin Dennis (right), senior at Salisbury University studying Political Science with a pre-law track, as an intern with my office this semester. Jaelon Monay (left), freshman at Williams College studying Political Science and Africana Studies, will be interning with Delegate Mautz for the month of January.

Governor Hogan Veto Overrides
Governor Hogan vetoed several key pieces of legislation last year. The Governor vetoed Senate Bill 921 – Clean Energy Jobs – Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard Revisions stating this legislation would be yet another tax increase to Marylanders. The additional burden imposed on Maryland ratepayers through utility costs was another reason the Governor decided to veto Senate Bill 921. The state of Maryland supports Clean Energy initiatives, but need to do so in a fiscally responsible way. The General Assembly is expected to vote on Governor Hogan's override later this week. I fully support Governor Hogan's veto, as this bill would increase taxes for Marylanders and prevent substantial job growth within the state.

Governor Hogan's FY 2018 Budget
On Wednesday, Governor Hogan submitted the administration's fiscal year 2018 budget. As promised, the governor developed a balanced budget that is fiscally responsible while not raising taxes or cutting services in the state of Maryland. For the third year in a row, the budget fully funds K-12 education. The administration has pledged to address the growing heroin and opioid crisis in Maryland and nationwide. This budget contains $1.3 billion for mental health and substance abuse services and $4 million to help the state's work with those struggling with addiction.

Prescription Drug Prices Rise
Rapid increased costs for EpiPens statewide has sparked an interesting debate regarding prescription drug prices. Prices for some necessary prescription drugs have escalated making it extremely difficult for Marylanders to afford. Lawmakers, with the support of Attorney General, will introduce legislation that requires pharmaceutical companies to reveal the basis for drug prices. Another piece of legislation would authorize the Attorney General to sue drug makers for price gouging. The price for EpiPens and some prescription drug prices needs to be addressed for all Marylanders. We will be following this issue closely.

Maddow: Trump’s Speech ‘Militant,’ ‘Dark,’ ‘America First Has ‘Dark Echoes’ of Anti-Semitism and Nazism

Scenic Somerset County Property Protected

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 03:30 PM PST

150-Acre Easement Includes Waterfront

A Somerset County couple recently donated a conservation easement that permanently protects more than 150 acres, including a mile of waterfront property along the Big Annemessex River.

The Maryland Environmental Trust and the Lower Shore Land Trust worked with Randy and Bobbie Stadler to conserve their land and vital wildlife habitat. Bobbie is a retired wildlife rehabilitator, having dedicated much of her life to protecting the wildlife on her land.

"The Stadlers' generosity is an example to us all," said Maryland Environmental Trust Director William Leahy. "We are grateful for their gift ensuring the wetlands, forests and an impeccable waterfront view will be protected for generations to come."

"When the process was complete, the Maryland Environmental Trust sent us a sign that says, 'This land is protected forever.' What a wonderful feeling," said Randy Stadler. "That sign represents the culmination of everyone's work to make this happen. It also made us realize we truly had done our part to protect an area of the state that we both love."

Chicken Industry, A Mainstay of Delmarva’s Economy, Shows Sensible Growth

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 03:00 PM PST

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Delmarva's chicken industry was a force for stability in 2016, keeping its bird capacity level and even slightly reducing the number of chicken houses in operation, while maintaining the total chicken produced and supporting the region's crop family farms with nearly $1 billion spent on feed ingredients.

Statistics on the chicken economy compiled by Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc. (DPI), the nonprofit trade association, should put to rest worries about the industry 'overbuilding' new chicken houses. The data, supplied by the five poultry companies that operate on Maryland's Eastern Shore, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and in Delaware, show total chicken house capacity declined 0.5 percent in 2016, from 123 million birds to 122.5 million. The number of chicken houses in operation also fell, from 4,840 at the beginning of 2016 to 4,700 houses in use at the end of the year. The reason is simple: many chicken growers are building modern, efficient chicken houses, replacing more numerous and smaller structures as they do so. The overall effect, though, is in no way a runaway pace of growth in chicken house capacity, as some chicken critics agitating for a moratorium on new chicken house construction assert. In fact, the opposite is true, with a net reduction in 140 chicken houses seen last year.

Family farms and chicken companies use a wide variety of production methods to provide consumers with choices in the type of chicken they buy for their households. Regular and comprehensive animal care training for farmers and their employees and ongoing monitoring of bird health and welfare are part of the high standards for Delmarva chicken farmers and companies. That commitment to raising chickens efficiently and responsibly led to a 4 percent increase in the total pounds of chicken produced on Delmarva in 2016, with a total of 4.1 billion pounds of "Delmarvalous" chicken delivered to market.

To produce those chickens, Delmarva's poultry industry used 85.4 million bushels of corn, 35.5 million bushels of soybeans and 1.7 million bushels of wheat. The industry's total feed bill topped $997 million in 2016, down 1.8 percent from the year before. Most locally grown corn and soybeans are used to feed Delmarva's chickens. That means chicken industry dollars support Delaware, Maryland and Virginia family farms and the local economy many times over. A strong chicken industry that keeps cropland in production also provides an ecological benefit, since farmland produces less pollution per acre than developed land does.

Payments by chicken companies to contract growers on family farms rose 6 percent in 2016, from $229 million to $243 million. Wages earned by the 14,500 people directly employed by the region's five chicken companies also rose, by 7.7 percent, to $663 million.

"Nearly every business on Delmarva – including small businesses – is positively affected by the chicken industry," said Bill Satterfield, DPI's executive director. "These numbers reinforce just how important the chicken industry is to the region, and they show the industry growing at a calm, sustainable pace. An unwarranted clampdown on Delmarva's chicken industry would result in widespread economic harm; it would endanger the livelihoods of farmers, chicken company employees and countless others; and it would represent a step back in terms of conservation, by exposing more farmland to development pressure."

United Way releases Maryland poverty report

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 02:30 PM PST

A report issued Jan. 9 by the United Way found that 31 percent of Worcester County residents are in financial purgatory of sorts — they earn more than the federal poverty level, but less than the cost of living.

The percentage was not as bad as it was in the other two lower shore counties, with Wicomico at 35 percent, and Somerset County recording the highest number in the state at 53 percent.

The household income threshold for those under 65 as defined in the report is $40,000 for Worcester and Wicomico and $45,000 in Somerset County. Over-65 household income is $30,000 for Worcester and Wicomico, and $25,000 in Somerset.

The report was gathered from data collected in 2014, based on a pilot program in New Jersey and later expanded to 15 other states, including Maryland.

Biden Blasts Trump-Putin Plan "To Collapse The Liberal International Order"

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 02:00 PM PST

In a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Joe Biden took aim at president-elect Trump and Russian president Putin in what is likely his final public appearance as US vice-president.

The speech was long on scaremongery and war rhetoric and short on 'fact', as The Wall Street Journal reports, Mr. Biden said cooperation between the U.S. and Europe formed "the bedrock of the success the world enjoyed in the second half of the 20th century."

"Strengthening these values—values that served our community of nations so well for so long—is paramount to retaining the position of leadership that Western nations enjoy."

Mr. Biden also leveled sharp criticism at Mr. Putin, whom Mr. Trump has praised and said he would seek to cooperate with. Mr. Putin's goal, Mr. Biden said, was "to return to a world where the strong impose its will through military might, corruption, and criminality, while weaker nations have to fall into line."

"With many countries in Europe slated to hold elections this year, we should expect further attempts by Russia to meddle in the democratic process," Mr. Biden said. "It will occur again, I promise you, and again the purpose is clear: to collapse the liberal international order."

So - bottom line - according to the vice-president of the only US president to have been at war every day of their 8-year-term, the American people have 'unwittingly' voted a man into office who puts the entire world order at risk of collapse.

The sight of a migrating harp seal taking a breather on the beach in Ocean City last weekend brought a quick response from volunteers, who were intent on assuring the creature remained undisturbed.

Members of the National Aquarium in Baltimore's Marine Mammal Wildlife Rescue and the Maryland Coastal Bays Programs Seal Stewards group monitored the scene at 135th Street prior to the seal returning to the sea overnight on Sunday.

Aquarium volunteer Chuck Erbe of Ocean View, Delaware materializes whenever a marine animal or sea turtle turns up on the beaches in Ocean City or Assateague.

"I won't say I'm on call 24/7, but it's very close to that," he said. "What we do is come down and assess the situation."

Donald Trump said his inauguration would have "record-setting turnout," but a quick glance at bird's-eye photos of his event and Barack Obama's in 2009 shows how far that claim is from the truth. In recent days, various groups estimated that the crowd for Trump was likely to be between 700,000 and 900,000 people. In 2009, an estimated 1.8 million people flocked to the National Mall to watch the swearing-in of the nation's first black president.

Worcester County weighs reducing cell tower distances on highway

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 12:30 PM PST

The Worcester County Commissioners have scheduled a public hearing for Feb. 21 to consider a proposed zoning amendment that would reduce separation distances for cell towers in heavily traveled roads and highways.

Deputy Director of Planning Phyllis Wimbrow said the amendment was submitted on behalf of the Columbia-based Cellco Partnership, operating under the Verizon Wireless moniker.

"This application seeks to amend the zoning code to allow for greater flexibility for cell towers in areas where currently you have to be at least 1,000 feet from any home, except in situations where you have a non-conforming use," she said. "In this situation, we've got high demand transportation corridors."

Rand Paul Doubles Down: Someone Needs To Go To Jail For Fake Trump Leaks

In a strong performance on fake news channel CNN Tuesday evening, Senator Rand Paul doubled down on comments he made last week, saying "somebody should go to jail" for leaking fake intelligence regarding Donald Trump and the Russian government.

"I think it's unseemly that people in our intelligence community, the CIA director, is out there giving press conferences, criticizing the incoming president — I think that's inexcusable and I would not have anybody in the CIA that's publicly criticizing the president." Paul told CNN's Wolf Blitzer, who has continued to defend CNN's coverage of the Trump/Russia blackmail fake news story.

NEW TECHNOLOGY HELPS OCEAN PINES POLICE QUICKLY IDENTIFY SUSPECTS

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 11:30 AM PST

The Ocean Pines Police Department is set to receive a $30,030 grant from the state of Maryland for a technology upgrade that allows officers to quickly identify suspects involved in criminal actions. Officers are gaining the upper hand with the assistance of a new finger and palm printing machine.

According to the Ocean Pines Police Department, law enforcement agencies indicate that at least 30 percent of the prints lifted from crime scenes – from knife hilts, gun grips, steering wheels and window panes – are of palms, not fingers. For this reason, capturing and scanning latent palm prints is becoming an area of increasing interest among the law enforcement community, including the Ocean Pines Police Department.

An upgraded fingerprinting system, which has been recently installed, now helps to increase officer efficiency.

"In addition to identifying the individual, it also quickly searches state and federal criminal history databases for warrants that may still be in effect," said Ocean Pines Police Chief David Massey. "Automation eliminates the old messy ink procedures, and accurately tells an officer that the print is acceptable, or whether a new re-print is necessary."

On April 6, 2016, an audit of the former fingerprint machine was conducted by the External Audit Unit of the Criminal Justice Information System Central Repository. The audit revealed Ocean Pines Police Department was not in compliance with submitting palm prints. The department had purchased the Livescan system in 2010, when Livescan did not include a palm reader because palm readers were not mandated at that time. The mandate to capture palm prints in Maryland was enacted back in May 2013 by the FBI.

"This machine will also enable members from our Sheriff's Office, who may make an arrest nearby Ocean Pines, to utilize our machine to enter suspect information, thereby freeing them from a lengthy journey back to Snow Hill," said Chief Massey. "The cooperation of our Sheriff is supporting our grant was a factor in the approval process."

Ocean Pines is the largest year-round community in Worcester County. The Ocean Pines Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the Ocean Pines community, having mutual aid agreements with the Worcester County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police. The police department consists of 15 sworn officers, one (1) part-time sworn officer, four (4) full-time civilians and three (3) part-time civilian support staff. The Ocean Pines Police Department responded to 10,588 calls for service in 2015.

The community of Ocean Pines was founded in 1968 and is currently home to approximately 12,000 year-round residents according to the 2010 Census. In the summertime, May through October, the estimated seasonal population swells to over 25,000 residents and vacationers.

About The Grant

Governor Larry Hogan had announced the recipients of the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grants, or BJAG awards. The recipients of the BJAG awards support a broad range of state and local criminal justice initiatives critical to Maryland's ultimate goal of safe communities. Funds are intended to close gaps in services related to preventing violent crime, assisting crime victims, enforcement, prosecution, adjudication, detention and rehabilitation.

For more information and to set up an interview with the Police Chief, contact Denise Sawyer, director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Ocean Pines Association, at (410) 641-7717 ext. 3006 or dsawyer@oceanpines.org.

Alibaba'a Jack Ma Drops a Redpill in Davos: The U.S. Wasted $14 Trillion on Wars Over the Past 30 Years

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 11:00 AM PST

And there it is, the unvarnished, raw, truth about how everything went wrong for middle class America.

Since the Vietnam war, more than 45 years ago, the US has embarked on a neocon strategy of war in an effort to build a global empire. The result of that strategy has left American infrastructure second rate, its school system in shambles, and its healthcare system a complete and utter joke.

Just imagine what America could've done with $14t of investable dollars, instead of waging wars.

Aside from the wars, America spends more than 50% of its discretionary budget on the military, per annum, 16% of its overall budget.

Nammo to Bring More Than 130 New Manufacturing Jobs to Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 10:30 AM PST

Company will invest more than $30 million to manufacture rocket motors and warheads, demilitarize aging explosive devices

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Nammo Group, based in Norway, will bring more than 130 new manufacturing jobs to Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Indian Head in Southern Maryland over the next five years.

Brown.

Background on the Clinton Global Initiative

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 10:00 AM PST

Following Hillary Clinton's loss in the 2016 election, the Clinton Global Initiative, an arm of The Clinton Foundation, is closing. The foundation was forced to lay off CGI's 22 employees last week.

The Clinton Foundation issued a WARN filing with the New York Department of Labor, saying that 22 CGI employees will lose their jobs due to the "discontinuation of the Clinton Global Initative." This has reportedly become the subject of a significant dispute within the Foundation in terms of how the layoffs ought to be handled.

The Clinton Foundation tainted Clinton's campaign last year with conflicts of interest. Reports indicated, for instance, that foundation donors were awarded special State Department privileges during Clinton's tenure as secretary of state.

Because of the controversy, former President Bill Clinton indicated that he would step down from the Clinton Foundation board if his wife was elected. Foreign donors also reportedly backed out of their annual contributions.

Author and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza said that latter point was pretty telling.

As they prepare for their exodus from the White House, the Obamas are about to join another rarified club that of the ruling liberal elite class owning multiple ultra-expensive homes in highly exclusive communities that none in America can afford save the one-percenters. The very same one-percenters whom they rant and rail against as being the greedy, ego-centric millionaires who simply have too much.

Following the likes of Bill and Hillary Clinton who (despite Hillary's claim earlier this year that they left White House dead broke ) somehow managed to educate their daughter at Stanford, Oxford, NYU and Columbia; acquire a $1.7 million estate in Chappaqua and a $2.85 million mansion in Georgetown) and Bernie Sanders who shortly after ending his 2016 presidential bid bought his third home a$600,000 lakefront vacation house on Lake Champlain. Barack and Michelle have real estate designs of their own.

Earlier this year it was revealed that upon his leaving the presidency the Obamas will not be returning to Chicago they will instead be moving into a $6 million, 8,200-square foot, 9-bedroom 12-bathroom mansion in Kalorama, one of the District's most posh, desirable and exclusive neighborhoods in the heart of one of America's wealthiest zip codes.
With daughter Malia off to college that leaves just Barack, Michelle and Sasha until the younger daughter graduates high school in 2018. Nothing says I care about climate change, energy consumption and our CO2 footprint more than keeping an 8,200-square foot house heated and air conditioned year round for just three people. The hypocrisy and do as I say not as I do hubris of all these wealthy climate change proponents is sickening. By the way, the Obama's new home is just two doors down from Clinton campaign manager, John Podesta, who recently lost the most significant campaign of his life.

But that's not the new news. We have now learned Barack and Michelle are the proud owners of yet another home, this one on the Left Coast.

As reported by PageSix and other sources, the Obamas have a new home in Rancho Mirage, California. Rancho Mirage is a popular golf getaway which would explain its attraction to the soon-to-be ex-golfer-in-chief. By some counts this makes the Obama's fifth home. Also from PageSix, The Obamas are also said to have bought a holiday getaway in Obama's childhood home state of Hawaii. How many American families own five of anything, let alone houses? Let alone houses in Hawaii that they see once a year or so. Most of us are blessed if able to rent a hotel room or condo on Hawaii once a decade.

The relocation habits of Democrats leaving office is very interesting.

For example; having been voted out of office in 2014, Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu didn't return to Louisiana. she instead made her 7,300-square foot $2.5 million Washington DC mansion her new home. Rather than returning to Little Rock, when Bill and Hill left the White House they chose the liberal, ultra-wealthy haven of Chappaqua New York with its average household income of $285,801 and average household net worth of $1,564,366 for their new residence.

Now it's the Obama's turn. Are they going back to Chicago to live amongst the little people and take their chances becoming yet another statistic (total number shot as of this writing this year: 3,961)? No, not so much.

They, like the others, are moving into a private, secured community to live in a house big enough for five families where they will host cocktail parties for golf buddies and other millionaire and billionaire friends.

Yet like the Sanders, Landrieus and Clintons of the world, they will accept exorbitant five-, six-, even seven-figure speaking fees to give speeches about how the rich in our country are steadily pulling away from everyone else and increasingly isolating themselves. About how the concentration of wealth at the top is allowing some Americans to own multiple houses, vacation when and as they please and live lives most of the rest of the country cannot fathom. They'll blather on and on about how the rich are a big part of the problems in our country.

They will, in part, be right.

Obama's Chelsea Manning 'Pardon' Proves The "Russian Election Hack" Story Was One Big Lie

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 09:45 AM PST

We applaud Obama for commuting the prison sentence of Chelsea Manning from 35 years to 7 years.

Army soldier, Chelsea Manning was convicted in 2013 of leaking hundreds of thousands (some counts have the number at 750,000) classified documents about US national security activities to WikiLeaks.

Those documents included diplomatic cables, military intelligence in Iraq and Afghanistan, and video files showing US strikes against "terrorists", and in one instance showing strikes that killed two Reuters journalists.

By granting Manning clemency, Obama admits that the massive leak of classified intelligence information (arguably the most damning US intelligence leak ever) was damaging, but not so damaging as to warrant a 35 year prison sentence.

Certainly Manning's intelligence leak is magnitudes worse a leak (in relation to US national security) than the John Podesta emails, that have the entire US establishment up in arms and pleading for a heavy retaliation.

Keep in mind that Chelsea Manning has pleaded guilty and admitted to the intelligence breach. No evidence has ever been provided to the public that proves the Russian state was behind the Podesta or DNC document leak.

Which brings us to this argument.

The Democrat Party, and their outgoing President Barack Obama, are gravely concerned about "Russian election hacking", concerned enough to impose sanctions on Russia, expel Russian diplomats, and even call for a "war-like" response towards Russia, with no evidence.

Best Obama Sketch

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 09:23 AM PST

Jack Wheeler is a brilliant man who was the author of Reagan's strategy to break the back of the Soviet Union with the star wars race and expose their inner weakness. For years he wrote a weekly intelligence update that was extremely interesting and well structured and informative. He consults(ed) with several mega corporations on global trends and the future, etc. He is in semi-retirement now. He is a true patriot with a no-nonsense approach to everything. He is also a somewhat well-known mountain climber and adventurer.

Written by Dr. Jack Wheeler:

The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, no balls, nothing but abstract, empty rhetoric devoid of real substance.

He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he rejects. The rest of him is mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed by his non-African Arabic surname and his Arabic first and middle names as a way to triply proclaim his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya. Only a small part of him is African Black from his Luo grandmother, which he pretends he is exclusively.

What he isn't, not a genetic drop of, is 'African-American,' the
descendant of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in
slave ships. He hasn't a single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab business in East Africa for centuries until the British ended it.

Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves, he is the descendant of slave owners. Thus he makes the perfect Liberal Messiah.

It's something Hillary doesn't understand - how some complete
neophyte came out of the blue and stole the Dem nomination from her. Obamamania is beyond politics and reason. It is a true religious cult, whose adherents reject Christianity yet still believe in Original Sin, transferring it from the evil of being human to the evil of being white.

Thus Obama has become the white liberals' Christ, offering absolution from the Sin of Being White. There is no reason or logic behind it, no faults or flaws of his can diminish it, no arguments Hillary could make of any kind can be effective against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed In Human Flesh being their Savior is all the more cause for liberals to worship him:
Credo quia absurdum, I believe it because it is absurd.

Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain Christian and are in no desperate need of a phony savior.

He is ridiculous and should not be taken seriously by any thinking American.

And yet he got elected, not once but twice. Thanks to those that did not think it was important to vote for freedom and those that were willing to give up their freedoms for entitlements.

Remember you don't have to be on a southern plantation to be a slave, if you are dependent on government entitlements you just have a different slave owner.

2nd California Student vows to remove penis if Trump builds wall

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 09:15 AM PST

In a bizarre show of solidarity with fellow University of California student Seth Greenberg, Sophomore Jakob Connulson has also pledged to remove his penis if Trump adds any additional structure to the existing US-Mexico border wall. Apparently, Greenberg and Connulson are members of a private campus group known as the "Open Borders Friends," described by one source as being a group of radical students who don't believe in the validity of Sovereign states.

In a recent Open Borders Friends assembly, Greenberg invited other members to join him in taking a pledge to remove a bodily appendage if Trump strengthens the border wall. When asked why he would agree to this, and why he would also elect to remove his penis, Cunnulson stated "we all know Trump isn't gonna do shit. He's just a blowhard saying things to rile people up. Still, I stand with the Mexican people, and I am fully prepared to emasculate myself to prevent further separation between people in the US and in Mexico. As far as why I am choosing to remove my penis instead of maybe a finger, or a toe, I feel that the penis represents my anger about an oppressive male dominated culture, and I would be fine with not having one."

COMMON SENSE – 2017

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 09:07 AM PST

Thomas Paine was born in 1737 in Britain. His first thirty seven years of life were pretty much a series of failures and disappointments. Business fiascos, firings, the death of his first wife and child, a failed second marriage, and bankruptcy plagued his early life. He then met Benjamin Franklin in 1774 and was convinced to emigrate to America, arriving in Philadelphia in November 1774. He thus became the Father of the American Revolution with the publication of Common Sense, pamphlets which crystallized opinion for colonial independence in 1776.

The first pamphlet was published in Philadelphia on January 10, 1776, and signed anonymously "by an Englishman." It became an instantaneous sensation, swiftly disseminating 100,000 copies in three months among the two and a half million residents of the 13 colonies. Over 500,000 copies were sold during the course of the American Revolution. Paine published Common Sense after the battle of Lexington and Concord, making the argument the colonists should seek complete independence from Great Britain, rather than merely fighting against unfair levels of taxation. The pamphlets stirred the masses with a fighting spirit, instilling in them the backbone to resist a powerful empire.

CNN Requests Access To Inauguration Event- The Response? PRICELESS!

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 08:53 AM PST

You are probably already familiar with the "Deporaball." The name is taken from the quote where Hillary Clinton decides to call all Trump supporters deplorables.

If you missed her awesome quote check it out here:

You know there are only 60 days left to make our case — and don't get complacent, don't see the latest outrageous, offensive, inappropriate comment and think well he's done this time. We are living in a volatile political environment. You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?
[Laughter/applause]
The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people — now how 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks — they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America.

Well, CNN wanted to come to the ball. The response is classic.

Trump Team Preparing "Dramatic Cuts To Government Spending"

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 08:45 AM PST

According to a report from The Hill this morning, President-elect Trump's transition team is already working with career staff at the White House on plans to slash federal spending. The Hill reports that significant cuts are expected to the budgets of the Department of Commerce, Energy, Transportation, Justice and State, among others, and would total $10.5 trillion over 10 years.

The departments of Commerce and Energy would see major reductions in funding, with programs under their jurisdiction either being eliminated or transferred to other agencies. The departments of Transportation, Justice and State would see significant cuts and program eliminations.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting would be privatized, while the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities would be eliminated entirely.

Overall, the blueprint being used by Trump's team would reduce federal spending by $10.5 trillion over 10 years.

While details are scarce now, a 200 page "skinny budget" document is expected to be released within the first 45 days of Trump's administration with a "full budget" to be released toward the end of his first 100 days in office.

Poll: Trump Viewed Favorably by More than Half of US Voters

Stark contrast to polls claiming low approval rating

"The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 52% of Likely U.S. Voters share a favorable opinion of Trump, with 30% who have a Very Favorable one," the polling agency reported Thursday, one day ahead of the 2017 inauguration.

Rasmussen's survey results starkly contrast polls hyped by the mainstream media earlier in the week in the run-up to the inauguration, claiming Trump would enter office with a historically low approval rating.

The advice remained confusing, however, as there was no official dietary advice on which fish were low or high in mercury.

But now the finally-completed list gives the official verdict on which fish could cause most damage to an unborn baby.

U.S. capital prepares to host Trump's inauguration

WASHINGTON (Reuters) –
Rob Cortis calls it the "Trump Unity Bridge" – a bulky, metal 45-foot structure welded to two wheels and bedecked with red, white and blue signs echoing President-elect Donald Trump's campaign themes.

He has towed it more than 20,000 miles (32,000 km) across the country. But as he arrived in Washington on the eve of Trump's inauguration on Friday as America's 45th president, he struggled to navigate the city's crowded potholed streets.

"I've been on dirt roads that are smoother," said Cortis, who lives in Michigan.

Things are no smoother for Washington – a city with a history of welcoming its White House occupants – following one of the most polarizing elections in modern U.S. politics. Nowhere in the country did the Republican Trump get less support, winning just 4 percent of the vote in the District of Columbia in the Nov. 8 election.

On K Street, best known for its well-heeled lobbyists, about 200 protesters chanted: "No Trump … no fascist USA." Nearby, Trump supporters – some draped in red, white and blue shirts, hats and jackets – declared their unwavering support for the New York businessman.

Denise Hendrickson, 51, a nurse who moved to Washington when Democratic President Barack Obama took office eight years ago, walked the streets on Thursday with a sign thanking him for his service and proclaiming: "We Already Miss U." As she moved down the sidewalk, she invited Trump supporters to talk, promising hugs to anyone who was willing.

One man wearing Trump's signature red "Make America Great Again" hat just smiled, took a picture and moved on. Then a middle-aged woman, also in Trump gear, approached to talk. After a few minutes, the two women hugged.

"This city is bummed out, it's a Democratic city," Hendrickson said.

28% of federal employees may quit their jobs when Trump assumes office: Poll

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 07:45 AM PST

Almost two-thirds of federal employees voted for Hillary Clinton during the presidential election, according to a new survey.

The poll also found that six of 10 felt that the election itself gave Americans a negative impression of federal service.

So it may come as no surprise that some federal employees are considering leaving their employment when President-elect Donald Trump assumes office.

"More than one in four federal workers, or 28 percent, will definitely or possibly consider leaving their jobs after Jan. 20 when Trump is sworn into office and becomes leader of the executive branch," according to the survey conducted by the Government Business Council and Government Executive, which both track the trends of the field.

Religious artifacts thief sentenced

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 07:30 AM PST

An Ocean City man was sentenced last week to 16 years for a pair of second-degree burglary charges, one involving religious artifacts, along with five years for growing cannabis at his residence.

Thomas Palenchar, 41, was found guilty of breaking into the Jewish Center uptown on Coastal Highway, as well as the Greene Turtle uptown just prior to Christmas 2015.

The Ocean City Police Department was called to the Jewish Center's storehouse at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 24, 2015. Responding officers reported finding a broken widow, a painting cut from its frame along with several broken plaques and statues. Also numerous religious artifacts had been removed.

The day before, managers at the Greene Turtle contacted police after they discovered an outside cooler had been pried open. After reviewing video footage from earlier that morning, a suspect matching Palenchar's description was seen removing food and beverages.

Trump Is Hours Away From Taking The White House- Mexico Sends Something UNEXPECTED!

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 07:23 AM PST

Joaquin Guzman Loera is a Mexican drug lord known often as "El Chapo." He is the epitome of a drug lord. He is responsible for trafficking huge quantities of drugs into our nation and taking apart American lives. But he has been held in Mexico after escaping an American prison. Although he was seeking refuge he finally was given a verdict.

And just like that he is being extradited to America to face trial for the crimes he has committed.

The Mexican Government came out with an official statement explaining what took place.

"The government of the Republic announces that today the Fifth Appellate Criminal Court in Mexico City ruled to deny the protection of the Federal Justice system to Joaquin Guzman Loera against the agreements made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 20, 2016, which permitted his extradition to the United States of America in order to be tried for various crimes, after finding that those agreements complied with constitutional requirements, the requirements of bilateral treaties and other legal rulings that are in effect and that his human rights were not and have not been violated by these proceedings," Mexico's government said in a statement.

The U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement that it "extends its gratitude to the Government of Mexico for their extensive cooperation and assistance in securing the extradition of Guzman Loera to the United States."

Luckily this man will be receiving the justice that he deserves.

Rather than attempting to show some hope, maybe offer some ideas for Mr. Trump, the national news media continues it's meltdown. Here's the NY Times Editorial Board, part of the paper that published an unsubstantiated hit piece on Trump's Energy Dept pick, Rick Perry. Those layers and layers of fact checkers took a nap

Can President Trump Be Presidential?

A special strength of American democracy has been the desire of newly elected presidents to unite the public with healing words after the sound and fury of the campaign.

Now comes President-elect Donald Trump. He has won the office and yet has continued his vindictive, disruptive style of politicking. He has run a post-campaign that has corroded the traditional grace period of considerate political transition that the nation needs. The hope of citizens for a better future, for a sense of uplift, has wound up hostage to his impetuous Twitter attacks on individuals, institutions and nations. (snip)

Mr. Obama's final news conference this week was a study in the sort of intelligent public speaking on complex issues that has characterized his eight years of scandal-free governance. It was leavened with a bit of self-deprecation, as Mr. Obama referred to "No-Drama Obama" in noting his own optimism, as if mindful of the years of melodramatics that might follow.

"Costs Are Rising, Wages Are Dropping" - The 'Real' Economy That Obama Left For Trump

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 06:45 AM PST

As President Obama held his last press conference this afternoon, basking in the warm afterglow of an over-sampled poll showing his favorability near record highs, it would appear he (and the press corps) forgot to mention that for most Americans - the 80% in production and nonsupervisory roles - this morning's data showed real wages actually dropping for the first time since 2013.

Bloomberg's Vincent Cignarella notes "Costs are rising, while pay isn't: is the U.S. on the road to stagflation?" Disposable income for U.S. consumers, as measured by real average earnings, took another turn lower in December as we noted earlier with headline inflation rising above 2% for the first time in more than two years.

As The Wall Street Journal reports, for several years now, wages have become a key barometer not only on the recovery, but on how much of the recovery is filtering down to the working class.

Companies have been reluctant to invest in their business without clearer signs of consumer demand, the key ingredient in crafting a organically strong economy. Wages and consumer demand trends underlie every valuation bet being placed in the markets right now. Understanding what is and isn't happening is critical.

The inflation numbers get netted out against wage growth, to produce the "real," or inflation-adjusted, wage rates.Average hourly wages, as per the December jobs report, rose 2.9% from a year ago. So, if you just compare that number to the inflation number, real average hourly earnings rose 0.8%.

A deeper dive, though, reveals that for many Americans, their wages are not outpacing inflation at all. For all production and nonsupervisory employees – a group that comprises 80% of all jobs in america – total average weekly earnings in December rose to $732.48 (about $38,000 a year) from $718.79 – up 1.9%. That rate is below this morning's inflation numbers.

So, again according to the BLS, average weekly earnings fell 0.1%.

W. Va. school district decides job cuts by having teachers draw numbers from hat

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 06:37 AM PST

A West Virginia school district has some educators scratching their heads after they had to choose numbers from a hat to determine whether they would still have their job in the 2017-2018 school year.

Due to a massive drop in enrollment, the Kanawha County School District announced last week that more than 70 positions would be cut due to a loss in state funding. On Thursday, 34 teachers in the school system had to draw a number from a hat to see if they would keep their current jobs, a local NBC News affiliate reported.

Kanawha County Schools told the station that the random selection procedure is part of code and based on seniority.

Rebecca Rhett, a kindergarten teacher at Overbrook Elementary, said teachers who drew 1-24 got to keep their jobs and those who drew 25-34 could face layoffs.

"I was already crying before I went up because I was frustrated, so when I drew the 28 I just left," Mrs. Rhett told NBC.

The Nation of Islam Factor

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 06:07 AM PST

In his January 10 farewell speech, President Obama cited "violent fanatics who claim to speak for Islam." That was the only mention of Islam in the speech, and the outgoing president kept his record intact.

For the past eight years, the most powerful man in the world has refused to connect Islam with any act of terrorism against the West in general or the United States in particular. The terrorists themselves do everything but take out an ad on the Super Bowl to trumpet Islam as their motive, but that has no effect on the president.

In early 2015 the Islamic State mounted a surge in torture, beheading and enslaving, with Christians a primary target, including women and children. At the national prayer breakfast, the president responded: "And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ."

The Crusades reference is the default defense of the Islamists themselves. Yet, the President of the United States, who claims to be a Christian, takes it up during a tide of Islamic State atrocities. At the UN in 2012, the president also went on record that "the future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam."

Shocking: Man Who Exposed Mainstream Fake News Found Dead In Germany

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 06:00 AM PST

Udo Ulfkotte may not be a name that Americans are familiar with although his work is directly involved in a lot of what we are seeing now in the media. He was a German journalist and whistleblower who spoke out against fake news from government and intelligence sources. He died last week of a heart attack and for some, the timing is just far too convenient.

Ulfkotte had been a journalist for over 25 years. He lived in many Middle Eastern countries during his career, including Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. He was the assistant editor for a German mainstream media newspaper. He was also the author of many books.

His main focuses were the refugee crisis in Europe, war propaganda, and fake news. As Ulfkotte became increasingly disturbed at news reports sourced from false government information, he began publishing a magazine called Whistleblower, which reports on topics not covered by the German media.

Ulfkotte is best known to international viewers from select appearances on Russia Today, specifically an October 2014 interview about his book Bought Journalists. The original interview was not seen by many but has since but published on You Tube and social media, spreading his message as the epidemic of fake news spreads.

In his book he discussed the propaganda in mainstream media news reports and the increased anti-Russia sentiment being generated. He also discussed the heavy influence on international news from American, Israeli and other Western intelligence agencies.

A Country Divided

Two very different kind of leaders.

One leader, (right) gains popularity by giving things away while the other, (left) makes you earn it.

Sure, Obama will leave office and many will cry. Heck, (honest to God) I've even received a message saying they want to slit their wrists.

Obamacare, Obama Phones, Welfare, EBT food stamps, Affordable Housing, Unemployment, U.S. Debt, Illegals, Refugees, the list is not only disgusting, it's never been so bad.

Yesterday we were awakened by the criminals that have been pardoned by this President, enough to make us sick. The lack of accountability and abuse of power is astounding.

Under Donald Trump things will change. If you actually think Obama is sticking around in D.C. for his Daughter, well, you ride the short bus. He's sticking around D.C. so he can disrupt Donald Trump. The Main Stream Media has NOT backed down and shown ANY respect that today Donald Trump will be our next President in just a few hours from now. We, as Americans, have never seen or experienced such disrespect.

Rather then rioting and looting, conservatives will remain smart and simply cut off any and all businesses/media that support the liberal crybaby/snowflake agenda. You see, the difference between these two leaders is the fact that conservatives won't get aggressively angry, we'll get even.

NO MORE FREE RIDES. Donald trump is going to get down to business today and quite frankly many are going to freak out. Too Bad! We need to get our country out of debt as quickly as possible. So Donald trump out of the gate is going to be hated by many. Leading means you aren't trying to make friends. You are trying to save our country.

Just like WE had to accept Obama, liberals need to accept Trump. The free cocaine ride is over. It's back to sobriety and yes, 9-5 jobs to survive. After all, this is what built America and throughout history we didn't get there for free. Just ask ANY Soldier.

Time to start Making America Great Again

A message from OUR Sheriff...

Posted: 20 Jan 2017 05:50 AM PST

It's 3AM, Friday, January 20th, 2016. Along with members of the Pittsburgh Police Department, we are being bused into downtown Washington D.C. for today's Presidential Inauguration. From their digital devices, those around me are watching indelible images of overnight rioting by those we will be confronting in the hours ahead.

We ride quietly, yet anxiously to an undisclosed location on Pennsylvania Avenue where we will remain until sometime Friday night. I'm so proud of the deputies who accompany me on this assignment. Each deputy knows the dangers that lie ahead, yet the enthusiasm in which they accept this particular detail demonstrates their commitment to our country's democracy.

The black bags strapped to our legs, opposite of our sidearms, contain gas masks that are a startling reminder of a country in turmoil. I'm not naive to believe today's swearing in of President-Elect Donald J. Trump will immediately reverse this tide. But, I can honestly say we welcome a much needed change in the highest office in the land.

This will likely be my last post of the day. When we chat again, we will do so knowing that we will have a Commander-in-Chief who respects the many sacrifices made by American Law Enforcement across this country everyday. And without the restoration of this law and order, as a society, we are destined for destruction.

God Bless America!!!!
