Posted: 23 Sep 2016 09:00 PM PDT Monday on NPR's "Morning Edition," former President Bill Clinton defended his wife, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and their family organization the Clinton Foundation, against allegations that donors were given special access to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's State Department. When asked if people might have donated in hopes of getting special access, Bill Clinton said, "Well since we had more than 300,000 donors, it wouldn't be usual if nobody did. But the names I saw in the paper—none of them surprised me and all of them could have gotten their own meeting with Hillary. You know when you have been doing this kind of work for as long as we have, you know the people who are the major players. And also some of them who call my staff—people were doing double duty back then and I had an office of the former president—when it was natural for people who've been our political allies and personal friends to call and ask for things." "And I trusted the State Department wouldn't do anything they shouldn't do, from a meeting to a favor, and so it didn't surprise me that people would call from time to time," he continued. "And maybe some of them gave money for that reason but most of them gave it because they liked what we were doing and because they knew me. And after she came on to the foundation for a couple of years they knew her. I mean Melinda Gates didn't get involved in the No Ceilings project with Hillary because she needed to support her, or me, or the foundation for access. She did it because the Gates Foundation cares about trying to elevate the standing of woman and girls in America and throughout the world, and that's what they did with No Ceilings." More |
Auditors: Franchot's office miscategorized 14,000 tax returns, sent $8.7 million to wrong towns Posted: 23 Sep 2016 08:30 PM PDT The office of Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot distributed $8.7 million in tax revenues to the wrong towns in Montgomery County, state auditors say in a report to be released on Thursday. Auditors blame the mistake on the erroneous classification of more than 14,000 returns. Auditors also found problems with how the office handles out-of-state tax credits, keeps information secure, and issues replacement refund checks. The audit, obtained by The Baltimore Sun, is expected to be broadly released Thursday. The comptroller's office said it has worked diligently to correct the mistakes. Franchot, a Democrat, defended his office Wednesday. "We have the finest comptroller's office in the country," he said. "I have a terrific staff of people." Franchot said his office inherited the revenue distribution problem from previous comptrollers, discovered and corrected it. He said he worked with the Maryland Association of Counties to resolve the erroneous transfers, and put jurisdictions that had been overpaid on lenient repayment schedules. More |
Justifying the Fascism of Hillary’s Pay-for-Play Posted: 23 Sep 2016 08:00 PM PDT Via The Daily Bell Hillary vs. the Hate Machine: How Clinton Became a Vessel for America's Fury … Decades of right-wing attacks turned a crusader of women's rights into a major target of hate "The underlying thing about Clinton and her candidacy is it's not normal. Normal is a male candidate, a male voice, a male tie." –Rolling Stone This recent article in Rolling Stone makes it clear that Hillary is a flawed candidate but that her flaws are not criminal and that she is far more desirable than Trump as president. In doing so, this article attempts to justify a kind of fascism called "pay-for-play" by minimizing its impact. And it justifies Hillary's other criminal and sociopathic behavior by virtually ignoring it. Fascism, classically is associated with authoritarian (governmental) control over the private sector. And certainly pay-to-play comes close to that. The government makes it possible for a specific institution or individual to carry out a given task or service that others have no possibility of performing. In Hillary's case, pay-for-play was made possible by the Clinton Foundation. It seems that those who sought her influence or Bill's influence with political issues could make a donation to the Foundation in return for receiving special treatment. If true, as it appears it is, the corruption is on an unparalleled level, dwarfing other fedgov scandals. And as we pointed out just yesterday, by running these articles, the mainstream media is significantly devaluing its larger credibility, given the apparent significance of what's going on. More |

Eleanor Clift says, ‘Hillary Clinton isn’t sick; you are’ Posted: 23 Sep 2016 07:00 PM PDT Maybe it's time for Eleanor Clift, age 76, to call it quits after a long and distinguished career. What distinguishes her career most is its coincidence with those halcyon years for now-aging liberal journalists (think also Dan Rather, who is 84) when the "news" automatically tilted left and no one in the American public was any the wiser. Clift's column on Monday argues that the reason there is so much fuss over Hillary Clinton's health is that she's a woman. It's worth pausing and noting that Clift has been around long enough to remember a time before the coining of the word sexism, when articles like hers would never have been conceived of. But Clift's column now makes as little sense as it would have in 1950, when she would more likely have been out playing been jacks with other little girls in the neighborhood than penning angry, if ineffectual, columns. The subtitle of her article — "Older men look distinguished. Older women, well… The deck is stacked against Clinton here" — is frankly about as silly as you can get. That's not to say she doesn't get sillier in the column proper: More |

Number of People Wrongfully Given American Citizenship Much Higher Than Originally Reported Posted: 23 Sep 2016 06:00 PM PDT CNN's Jake Tapper reported on Tuesday that the number of people who were wrongly granted American citizenship when they were supposed to be deported is much higher than originally reported. The number of individuals who were supposed to have been deported but were instead granted citizenship is far higher than was initially reported by media covering the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General's office report on the matter. On Monday, the Inspector General reported that 858 individuals from "special interest countries" — meaning countries that are considered to be "of concern to the national security" of the US — were supposed to have been deported but were instead granted US citizenship. The Department of Homeland Security Inspector General's office said in a footnote that 1,811 people had been granted citizenship wrongly. But the truth is the report is even worse than reported, with more than 1,800 individuals naturalized who should have been deported from the country. […] That amounts to a total of 1,811 individuals granted citizenship who should not have been. The new number is an increase of 953 people from the original number reported. More |
New African American History Museum Holds Few MLK Artifacts Posted: 23 Sep 2016 05:30 PM PDT ATLANTA (AP) — The National Museum of African American History and Culture opens in Washington this weekend aiming to tell the story of black people in the U.S., yet visitors will find few personal mementos from one of the most famous and influential black Americans, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. King is certainly there in photos and film clips. His fraternity membership card and posthumously awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom are there, along with a bucket he's said to have soaked his feet in during the civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery. But there are none of his hand-scrawled speeches and notes, well-worn suits or personal keepsakes. King's estate, controlled by his three surviving children, owns and controls much of the slain civil rights leader's memorabilia. The museum, part of the Smithsonian, didn't respond to repeated requests from The Associated Press for comment for this story. Museum director Lonnie Bunch told The Washington Post (http://wapo.st/2cvvu0k) the institution wants things it can keep rather than loaned items. More |
A question for Charlotte: How does looting a Walmart, burning a truck advance your cause? Posted: 23 Sep 2016 05:00 PM PDT It was a night of terror in Charlotte, North Carolina. A rioting mob shut down Interstate 85 -- attacking terrified motorists. One female truck driver cried as she told a reporter that her cargo was being set on fire. Looters pillaged and plundered a Walmart. More than a dozen police officers were injured -- along with civilians and at least three reporters. Ocean City Council conflicted over plumbing permit regulations Posted: 23 Sep 2016 04:30 PM PDT Ocean City planning department staff will review a proposed revision to the resort's plumbing code and whether it makes it clear that residents can, for instance, replace a faucet in their homes without a permit and a master plumber. Apparently the language in the current plumbing code, which was updated several months ago, left some property owners wondering whether they could do small jobs themselves, instead of having to call in a contractor. Planning and Community Development Director Bill Neville suggested that the City Council create a new ordinance that spells out what sorts of fixture installations or replacements did not require a permit. The Council, however, opted to simplify the language even further in a 6-1 vote. But when their suggestions were written out in an ordinance that was presented to them during the Sept. 19 session, some councilmembers were divided on whether that would address the issue. More |

Pocomoke hardest hit by downpour Posted: 23 Sep 2016 03:30 PM PDT By late Monday afternoon, floodwaters had crossed Route 113's southbound lanes north of Pocomoke City in at least two places, Route 756 was about to be shut down, and both Market Street and Clarke Avenue were closed in places because of rising water from a coastal storm. By Tuesday morning, City Manager/City Attorney Ernie Crofoot said things had become calmer, the flash flooding had started to subside and cleanup efforts were underway. "The combination of the volume of rain, the short time factor and the fact that stormwater mitigation swales and other measures can only hold so much water led to the flooding," Crofoot said. The wastewater treatment plant was "the least of his concerns" on Monday, he said, though the town did need to switch holding lagoons to accommodate all the runoff. Crofoot said several manhole covers in town were dislodged and overflowed during the squall. Reports of a lightning strike at Pocomoke's Hartley Hall were confirmed by Gary Crowley, administrator. The strike did not hit the center itself, but nearby, causing minor issues but not interrupting services to residents. Though the flooding was severe near Hartley Hall, the facility did not take on water, Crowley said. More |
CIA Director Brennan Admits Voting for Communist Party in 1976 Posted: 23 Sep 2016 03:00 PM PDT "We've all had indiscretions in our past," the CIA director said CIA Director John Brennan admitted to supporting the Communist Party in the 1976 election last week during the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's annual conference. Speaking at a panel discussion on diversity in the intelligence community Thursday, Brennan revealed how his previous vote for Communist Gus Hall had resurfaced during his first polygraph test at the agency. According to CNN, after being asked if he had "ever worked with or for a group that was dedicated to overthrowing the US," Brennan worried that a truthful answer would end his goal of becoming a CIA analyst. "This was back in 1980, and I thought back to a previous election where I voted, and I voted for the Communist Party candidate," Brennan said. "I froze, because I was getting so close to coming into CIA and said, 'OK, here's the choice, John. You can deny that, and the machine is probably going to go, you know, wacko, or I can acknowledge it and see what happens.'" More |

FBI faces more questions on terrorism, Clinton emails next week Posted: 23 Sep 2016 02:00 PM PDT FBI Director James Comey will testify before the House Judiciary Committee next week following reports that the agency was tipped off about the weekend terrorist attacks in New York and New Jersey. "From San Bernardino to Orlando to the most recent terrorist attacks in New York, New Jersey, and Minnesota, the United States has experienced a rise in radical Islamic terrorism and we must ensure that the FBI has the resources needed for its counterterrorism efforts in order to thwart these heinous plots and protect Americans from harm," Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., said in a statement announcing the hearing. He said the oversight hearing will also give lawmakers another chance to ask Comey why he decided not to launch a criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server and mishandling of classified information. BREAKING NEWS: Ted Cruz endorses Donald Trump for president Posted: 23 Sep 2016 01:11 PM PDT WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - Two months after famously refusing to endorse Donald Trump for president at the Republican National Convention, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) announced Friday that he is supporting the Republican nominee. "After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump," Cruz wrote in a lengthy Facebook post laying out his reasoning. Cruz listed several reasons he believes Trump is preferable to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, including national security and the direction of the Supreme Court. "Our country is in crisis," he said. "Hillary Clinton is manifestly unfit to be president, and her policies would harm millions of Americans. And Donald Trump is the only thing standing in her way." Donald Trump Comes Out Against Obama’s United Nations Internet Takeover Posted: 23 Sep 2016 01:00 PM PDT NEW YORK CITY, New York — Donald J. Trump, the Republican nominee for president, has sided with the sovereignty of the American people against international elites yet again by coming out in public opposition to President Barack Obama's internet giveaway to a United Nations globalist body. Stephen Miller, Donald Trump's chief policy adviser, said in a Wednesday statement: Donald J. Trump is committed to preserving Internet freedom for the American people and citizens all over the world. The U.S. should not turn control of the Internet over to the United Nations and the international community. President Obama intends to do so on his own authority – just 10 days from now, on October 1st, unless Congress acts quickly to stop him. The Republicans in Congress are admirably leading a fight to save the Internet this week, and need all the help the American people can give them to be successful. Hillary Clinton's Democrats are refusing to protect the American people by not protecting the Internet. More |

The recording was made by his wife, Rakeyia Scott, and captured both the moments before the shooting and following it. However, on the recording, the shooting itself is not shown--only the sounds of gunfire can be heard while the camera is panning to a different shot. It offers no clarification on whether he had a weapon, or if his arms were raised or what he was doing when the shots were fired. On the video, officers can be heard yelling "drop the gun" several times. His wife yells, "Keith, get out of the car." After the shots are fired, she's heard screaming, " Did you shoot him" and "he better not f---ing dead." More/Video |

Jim Jordan Smacks Down IRS Commissioner at Impeachment Hearing Posted: 23 Sep 2016 11:00 AM PDT WASHINGTON, D.C. — Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan went to town Wednesday against IRS commissioner John Koskinen at Koskinen's congressional impeachment hearing over his response to the IRS conservative targeting scandal. In a triumphant smackdown, Jordan showed Koskinen to his face that the IRS is still engaging in targeting of conservative groups, according to the U.S. Court of Appeals. Jordan said: Now the clincher! Now the clincher! It's still going on. And so the other side can say we shouldn't be here today, you shouldn't have to sit through this. I'm saying, why haven't we done this a long time ago? You should have been gone a long time ago. When this is the record: losing emails, backup tapes destroyed, targeting still continues to this day. Not Jim Jordan's words. Not Freedom Caucus words. Words from the Court of Appeals. ‘Political Correctness’ Finds a New Target Posted: 23 Sep 2016 10:00 AM PDT In "Nineteen Eighty-Four," George Orwell's classic novel about a totalitarian and dystopian future, the ruling Party develops "Newspeak" as way to limit freedom of expression and thought. So, for example, "goodthink" refers to thoughts approved by the Party. That which is not "goodthink" is apt to be "crimethink." In the real world of today, we use a different but no less Orwellian vocabulary. On university campuses and in the mainstream media we now have a growing body of rules, both written and tacit, mandating that only "politically correct" views be expressed. I maintain that "political correctness" has as much to do with what is correct — i.e. true — as "ethnic cleansing" has to do with personal hygiene. What does it have to do with instead? Orthodoxy — a word that comes the Greek orthos, meaning right, and doxa, meaning opinions. Those enforcing what they deem "right opinions" (or orthodoxy or political correctness) have become the new Establishment. (Which, I suppose, makes those of us who oppose and resist them unorthodox and anti-Establishment.) Actually, the new orthodoxy is not so very new. In The New York Times 26 years ago next month, journalist and author Richard Bernstein noted that the term had for some years been in use to communicate "a kind of 'correct' attitude toward the problems of the world. …The view that Western civilization is inherently unfair to minorities, women and homosexuals has been at the center of politically correct thinking on campuses." The news in his story was that political correctness was becoming "a sarcastic jibe used by those, conservatives and classical liberals alike, to describe what they see as a growing intolerance, a closing of debate, a pressure to conform to a radical program or risk being accused of a commonly reiterated trio of thought crimes: sexism, racism and homophobia." Williams: Cruelty to Black Students Posted: 23 Sep 2016 09:53 AM PDT Last year's college news was about demands for safe spaces, trigger warnings and bans on insensitivity. This year's college news is about black student demands for segregated campus housing and other racially segregated campus spaces and programs. I totally disagree with these calls by black students. It's a gross dereliction of duty for college administrators to cave to these demands, but I truly sympathize with the problems that many black college students face. For college administrators and leftist faculty, the actual fate of black students is not nearly so important as the good feelings they receive from a black presence on campus. Let's examine some of the problem. A very large percentage of all incoming freshmen have no business being admitted to college. According to College Board's 2015 report, the average combined SAT score for white students was 1576 out of a possible 2400. Black student SAT scores, at 1277, were the lowest of the seven reported racial groups. The College Board considers an SAT score of 1550 as the benchmark that indicates a readiness for college-level work. Only 32 percent of white students scored at or above proficient in math, and just 7 percent of black students did. Forty-six percent of white test takers scored proficient in reading, and 17 percent of blacks did. (...) These are significant differences in academic preparation between white and black students. I am sure that the differences give black students feelings of inferiority and being out of place. Black college students across the country have demanded segregated housing and other "safe spaces" on campuses designated for students of color. Students calling for segregated spaces do so because they allege their campuses are oppressive, are discriminatory and represent institutionalized racism. For decades, colleges have purchased peace by creating whole departments of ethnic, diversity and multicultural studies. All too often, these "studies" are about propaganda and not serious education. Plus, they provide students with an opportunity to get an easy A. More here |

Charlotte Unrest Strikingly Reminiscent To Baltimore Posted: 23 Sep 2016 09:30 AM PDT BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The situation in Charlotte is strikingly similar to the unrest seen in Baltimore in April of 2015. Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's office has reached out to Charlotte's mayor to offer any assistance she can. The shattered windows, pummeled police cars and fires in the streets of Charlotte are eerily reminiscent of a day in Baltimore 17 months ago. Rawlings-Blake says the scenes of unrest are part of a much larger issue. "There's just no trust. There's a lot of anger. Our country is at a boiling point when it comes to race relations, when it comes to community and police relations. And there's no trust," said Rawlings-Blake. But the mayor warns the violence in the streets only makes a bad situation even worse. More |
Nancy Pelosi's District Has Taken In Zero Syrian Refugees Posted: 23 Sep 2016 09:23 AM PDT House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has been a vocal backer of President Obama's (ultimately successful) plan to import a minimum of 10,000 Syrian refugees by the end of the fiscal year, at one point accusing Republicans of "slamming the door on mothers and children." But with just days remaining in the 2016 Fiscal Year, Pelosi's own district has yet to resettle a single Syrian refugee. Since Oct. 1, 2015, more than 12,000 Syrian refugees have been placed in the U.S., according to data from the State Department's Refugee Processing Center. San Francisco, California, which includes Pelosi's district (CA-12), has taken in zero refugees since the fiscal year began. 'Senator from Punjab': How Hillary Clinton Masterminded a Global Scheme to Replace American Workers Posted: 23 Sep 2016 09:15 AM PDT Hillary Clinton co-founded the Senate India Caucus, which anti-offshoring advocates say champions "issues important to India, including outsourcing and H-1B and L-1 visas." Clinton in 2005: "I am delighted to be the Senator from Punjab as well as from New York." Clinton has called for nearly doubling the controversial H-1B guest worker program—suggesting that American workers lack the skills to fill American jobs. She has also defended the cheap labor practices of an Indian outsourcing firm, to which the Clinton Foundation has financial ties: "We are not against all outsourcing; we are not in favor of putting up fences," she said. Shortly after the CEO of HCL—the Indian firm that helped lay off 250 American Disney workers in Orlando— called American tech graduates "unemployable", Bill Clinton delivered a speech to HCL to the tune of nearly a quarter of a million dollars at Disney World in Orlando. Reports note that Clinton has repeatedly "telegraphed" her support for a globalized world to the Indian community. At a conference of 14,000 Indian Americans, Bill Clinton extolled the virtues of "open borders, easy travel, easy immigration". In 2007, Barack Obama slammed "Hillary Clinton (D-Punjab)'s personal, financial and political ties to India… It's all about the money," his campaign wrote. |
Hillary's Glass-Hurling, Cursing Fit of Rage, and Dangling Noose Allusion Posted: 23 Sep 2016 09:07 AM PDT "Hillary would not be having fever dreams about swinging from a noose ... if she didn't know, deep inside, that her actions, and the actions of those monied interests whom she serves, are noose-worthy." Originally appeared at Chateau Heartiste An insider source at NBC reported that Hillary Clinton (you may know her as the c*nt) had an epic meltdown off-stage of her recent debate with Matt Lauer (who is currently being criticized for asking her normal journalistic questions that enraged Leftoid Hivemind authorities in charge of preapproving fluff talking points for Hillary's benefit). Only 37 Republicans back plan to defund Muslim ‘refugees’ Posted: 23 Sep 2016 09:00 AM PDT Texas congressman calls Obama's influx 'clear and present danger' Only 37 Republican congressmen have signed on to a Texas lawmaker's effort to cut funding for all refugees being sent to the U.S. from terrorist hotbeds like Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and Somalia. U.S. Rep. Brian Babin, R-Texas, told WND Tuesday the attacks in Minnesota, New York and New Jersey over the weekend, combined with earlier attacks by Muslim immigrants or sons of immigrants on Orlando, San Bernardino and Chattanooga, have created a "clear and present danger" that Congress must address. Especially since the sitting president, Barack Obama, refuses not only to stem the flow of Muslim refugees but has been on a crusade to increase the flow before he leaves office in January. Yet, when he tried last week to muster support for legislation that would do just that, Babin found very little support within his own Republican colleagues in Congress. More |

Now Infowars has received information from multiple high level sources detailing that if Hillary fails to show up at the first presidential debate, scheduled to be the biggest in history, the democrats will force her to drop out of the race. The democrats also began holding special meetings to find a possible replacement as media outlets wondered if Clinton would be well enough to continue her campaign. More/Video |

Posted: 23 Sep 2016 08:15 AM PDT Current US flag targeted next? The historic Betsy Ross flag associated with the American Revolution is racist, the NAACP claims. The flag, which represents the 13 colonies by using stars arranged in a circle, was described by the NAACP Greater Grand Rapids Branch of Michigan as a symbol of the "racist" Patriot movement. Chapter president Cle J. Jackson attacked the flag after Forest Hills Center High School students brought one to a Sept. 9 football game alongside a Trump flag. "Celebrating flags co-opted by exclusionary movements, held next to political banners of a presidential candidate who has offended people of color and immigrants, and accompanied by chants of 'Go home' by some students at a majority White school to players at a predominantly African-American school are not coincidences by unaware students," he said. "They are intentional actions of intimidation and rooted in no agenda other than to insult, to injure, and to incite." Even if there were racist students present, as he claims, that doesn't mean the Betsy Ross flag by itself is racist. More |
Weiner ‘sought rape fantasies’ with 15-year-old girl Posted: 23 Sep 2016 08:00 AM PDT Months-long relationship, asking her to dress up in 'school-girl' outfits (DAILYMAIL) — Anthony Weiner carried on a months-long online sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl during which she claims he asked her to dress up in 'school-girl' outfits for him on a video messaging application and pressed her to engage in 'rape fantasies', DailyMail.com can exclusively report. The girl, whose name is being withheld by DailyMail.com because she is a minor, said the online relationship began last January while she was a high school sophomore and before Weiner's wife, Hillary Clinton's aide Huma Abedin, announced she was ended their marriage. Weiner was aware that the girl was underage, according to DailyMail.com interviews with the girl and her father, as well as a cache of online messages. |
Shocker: Hillary Clinton has women problem in Ohio Posted: 23 Sep 2016 07:45 AM PDT TOLEDO, Ohio — Heather Tabbert, who works as a waitress at a Waffle House here, has been a Democrat all her life, but this year the only thing she is certain about in the presidential race is that she won't vote for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Maybe she'll stay home on Nov. 8. Maybe she'll vote for Republican nominee Donald Trump. "I don't know about either of them, but If I was going to vote, it would probably be for Trump, because if Hillary gets it, nothing will change," she said on a recent morning as she served up waffles, eggs and hash browns. Mrs. Clinton, who has made her bid to make history as the first female president a centerpiece of her campaign, has hit an unexpected rough patch with women voters in this key battleground. Weak support from women would deliver another blow to Mrs. Clinton's attempt to reassemble President Obama's hope-and-change coalition that twice won him the White House. More |
Charlotte Mayor Imposes Midnight Curfew as Hundreds Protest for a Third Night Posted: 23 Sep 2016 10:13 AM PDT CHARLOTTE, N.C.) -- As hundreds of demonstrators filled the streets of Charlotte Thursday night to express their anger over Tuesday's police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, the mayor of North Carolina's most populous city signed an order for a curfew slated to go into effect at midnight, officials have confirmed. The curfew will be lifted at 6 a.m., per Mayor Jennifer Roberts' order. The curfew is part of a proclamation of a state of emergency, that explains such a measure is necessary "in order to more effectively protect the lives and property of the people within the City of Charlotte." Chanting "No Justice, No Peace" and "Don't Shoot, Hands Up," protesters began peacefully marching down streets around 7:30 p.m. -- surrounded by rifle-carrying National Guard officers -- carrying signs that read "End Police Terror," "Black Lives Matter," "I Hope I Don't Killed For Being Black" and "Black Power." The protest began around the same time that attorneys for Scott's family said they had watched police video of Scott's shooting, but were unable to ascertain if Scott indeed had a gun in his hands. Immigrants Aren’t Taking Americans’ Jobs, New Study Finds Posted: 23 Sep 2016 07:15 AM PDT Do immigrants take jobs from Americans and lower their wages by working for less? The answer, according to a report published on Wednesday by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, is no, immigrants do not take American jobs — but with some caveats. The question is at the heart of the furious debate over immigration that has divided the country and polarized the presidential race. Many American workers, struggling to recover from the recession, have said they feel squeezed out by immigrants. Donald J. Trump, the Republican nominee, has called for a crackdown on illegal immigrants, saying they "compete directly against vulnerable American workers." He promises to cut back legal immigration with new controls he says would "boost wages and ensure open jobs are offered to American workers first." Hillary Clinton, his Democratic rival, takes an upbeat view, saying immigrants contribute to the economy whether they are here legally or not, by providing labor for American employers and opening businesses that create jobs for Americans rather than taking them. The report assembles research from 14 leading economists, demographers and other scholars, including some, like Marta Tienda of Princeton, who write favorably about the impacts of immigration and others who are skeptical of its benefits, like George J. Borjas, a Harvard economist. Here's what the report says: • "We found little to no negative effects on overall wages and employment of native-born workers in the longer term," said Francine D. Blau, an economics professor at Cornell University who led the group that produced the 550-page report. More |
Who will make it to the White House, Hillary or Donald? Posted: 23 Sep 2016 07:00 AM PDT Hillary or Donald? They are totally different and the result will make a world of difference for the future of America. One man's opinion. On Tuesday, November 8th, Americans will select a new president to solve the problems that the Obama Administration has created. Eight years of national and international crises, with each one seemingly more worrisome than the preceding, have left many Americans unhappy and eager for change and yearning for real hope. Both Hillary and Donald insist they are going to bring positive change. To prove it, they are flaunting their unique qualifications and recommendations for change. But of the two candidates, which one, if either, will repair a broken country? America has slipped from its perch internationally. It is no longer the prosperous nation, the strong defender of human rights and freedom that it once was. Instead, it is a country in crisis and in need of steroids. Under the leadership of the Obama Administration, America has become a faded image of what it once was – both domestically and internationally. Most everyone agrees that neither Hillary nor Donald are saints. According to Republicans, Hillary's achievement during her many years in government has been her multi-million-dollar foundation, which she uses to sell U.S. government access to unsavory world leaders. According to Democrats, Trump's achievements during his lifetime has been to build a multi-billion-dollar business by using bankruptcy and even questionable business practices to his advantage. Hillary's embarrassments (i.e., Benghazi, Clinton Foundation, email scandals, etc.), for example, have made front-page news, and Trump's gaffes (i.e., about Women, Mexicans, Muslims, etc.) have been tweeted around the world. Of the two candidates, which one should Americans trust to run the country and pull it out of its freefall into political obscurity? More |
Media Prepares For Hillary Defeat Posted: 23 Sep 2016 06:53 AM PDT Pro-Hillary media already jumping ship The mainstream media is already preparing for a Hillary defeat in November. ESPN's Nate Silver, who famously – and wrongly – declared Donald Trumphad little chance of winning the GOP nomination, is now warming up to the possibility that Trump will win the presidential election. But even more interesting, the left-wing Huffington Post published an extensive "obituary" for Hillary's campaign listing nine reasons why she's losing. More |
Mass immigration costs govt. $296 billion a year: National Academy of Sciences Posted: 23 Sep 2016 06:45 AM PDT Immigration drains the government, sapping as much as $296 billion a year from federal, state and local taxpayers while depressing wages, at least in the short run, according to an authoritative study released Wednesday by the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine. The 500-page academic tome is supposed to be the final word about the fiscal and economic effects of mass immigration, and its findings challenge some long-held assumptions of Washington policymakers that immigration is an unqualified benefit. The data show that immigrants take more in benefits than they pay in taxes. Although immigrants do boost the size of the economy, the gains are heavily skewed toward the immigrants themselves and to wealthy investors — not to native-born workers who end up competing with the new arrivals. Posted: 23 Sep 2016 06:37 AM PDT Bernard Sansaricq, former president of the Haitian Senate, issued a blistering statement condemning the Clinton Foundation, which has been posted at Donald Trump's campaign website. Sansaricq's statement says: Sadly, when an earthquake rocked the nation of Haiti in 2010, corruption moved in faster than the help so desperately needed. Today, the people of Haiti are still suffering despite the billions of dollars that have flowed into the Clinton Foundation. The Clintons exploited this terrible disaster to steal billions of dollars from the sick and starving people of Haiti. The world trusted the Clintons to help the Haitian people during their most desperate time of need and they were deceived. The Clintons and their friends are richer today while millions still live in tents. The world deserves to know where the money went and why help was never sent. More |
Muslim Woman Unleashes Nasty Surprise At Man When She Sees His Shirt Posted: 23 Sep 2016 06:30 AM PDT High on immigrant entitlement, a Muslim woman was at school when a white guy walked on campus, and she didn't like what she saw. With one look at what was on his t-shirt, she made a disgusting demand before unleashing a nasty surprise on the man who had the perfect response. Since much of the Muslim woman is concealed by her pink hijab, her identity is not known, in addition to the fact that she didn't feel that she needed to give anyone her name. Enjoying a free education and all the advantages of being in a country that took in far too many Muslims, she now feels like she can bark orders around at white citizens who were there before she was. As soon as she saw a former Curtin University student walk onto campus in Perth, Australia, she told him to "f*ck off" and that he had no right to be there, not because she knew him personally, rather it was one name on his shirt that set her off. Dennis Huts had an appointment at his alma mater but was instead met with a vile rant from this mysterious Muslim woman who didn't like that he was supporting a right-wing politician with his shirt, who is adamant about ending the Muslim immigration into Australia. Alexander: Democrats Despise 'We, the [Deplorable] People' Posted: 23 Sep 2016 06:23 AM PDT Last week I devoted my column to The Patriot Post's 20th anniversary. I did so in order to acknowledge our editors and staff, who do an outstanding job, and our fellow Patriots, who have supported and promoted our efforts for all these years. Meanwhile, our editors were hammering Hillary Clinton for her denigration of Donald Trump's supporters at a major fundraiser with her "LBGT constituents." According to Clinton, "To just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it. Some of those folks, they are irredeemable. … And unfortunately, there are people like that and [Trump] has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people, [but] now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric." Clinton's adoring Leftmedia sycophants defended her claim, characterizing it as a "gaffe." But a gaffe is defined as "an unintentional remark; a blunder." And this was no gaffe — it was scripted, it was intentional, and it captured perfectly the utter contempt with which Clinton and her like-minded Democrats view middle America. Perhaps it was also a calculated attempt to divert attention from her recent collapse at the 9/11 Ground Zero memorial event in New York City, due, she claimed, to a "bout with pneumonia." Or maybe it was a diversion from her collapse in the polls in the wake of her endless lies about concealing official communications. As for the other half of Trump's supporters, Clinton said they are misguided "people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they're just desperate for change." Ah, yes, foolish people just "desperate for change," rather than eager to award Barack Obama a third term by electing Hillary Clinton. In those statements to her wealthy left-elitist donors, Clinton didn't just offend tens of millions of grassroots Trump supporters, she insulted all grassroots Americans nationwide. And she offered her absurd assessment of rank-and-file Americans a week after smearingTrump supporters as racists. Clinton's "deplorable" characterization of her fellow Americans parallels Barack Obama's description of his detractors as "bitterly clinging to guns and religion." More here |
Hillary Clinton is a failure at fighting terrorism Posted: 23 Sep 2016 06:15 AM PDT She really should stick to lying. Desperately trying to snatch attention away from Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton took a stab at some unvarnished "straight talk" Monday and accused the real estate mogul of "giving aid and comfort" to America's enemies. In other words, "treason." Apparently, in her addled mind, wanting to secure our borders and aggressively vet people coming from known hot spots of virulent terrorism is a form of "giving aid and comfort" to radical Islamists. Okay. Seriously? This from a woman who has been a cornerstone of the current administration's foreign policy who failed to develop even the slightest strategy for fighting terrorism or, at the very least, keeping it off of America's shores. Texas School District Warns: ‘Staff Armed, Will Use Force to Protect Students’ Posted: 23 Sep 2016 06:07 AM PDT Message intended to strike fear into hearts of would-be criminals The message gained popularity after being posted on local newspaper The Bandera Bulletin's Facebook page last week. A Medina school board member told CNN there's no specific threat they're trying to address, just the "general environment nationally." The school's superintendent Penny White said the sign should be a good deterrent against a potential criminal element. "I think that anybody who might have a thought about harming someone in mind might think twice about it," she said, adding "the school district's somewhat remote location in a rural part of the state was another factor in erecting the sign," according to CNN. For now there's only one sign at the entrance of one of their schools, but officials promise more are forthcoming. Comments on Facebook regarding the pro-active message were overwhelmingly positive: More |
Soros-Linked Campaign To Register 8 Million ‘Global Citizens’ To Vote Posted: 23 Sep 2016 06:00 AM PDT A new campaign, touted as the "October surprise that will end Trump", is seeking to mobilise a "secret swing state" of more than 8 million mostly unregistered "global citizens" and "progressive" Americans living abroad to vote in the U.S. election. The initiative was launched in London in the United Kingdom on Wednesday by 'Avaaz', a registered U.S. charity and one the world's largest and most powerful activist groups linked to globalist billionaire George Soros. Campaigners toured from the University College London down to Parliament blasting Bruce Springsteen's 'Born in the USA' while chanting "Don't Vote Trump" from an open top bus. While illegal for registered U.S. charities to work with or for presidential candidates, a spokeswoman for Avaaz denied any connection to the Hillary campaign when quizzed. Campaigners with Avaaz however, were recorded shouting, "Vote for Hillary!" during the demonstration. A huge 88 per cent of Americans living abroad did not register to vote in the last presidential election, and Avaaz points out that "this massive untapped voting block" is much more likely to be "progressive" because "56 per cent of us [in the UK] have masters degrees" and overwhelmingly donated to Democratic candidates in the last three presidential primaries. Tulsa Police Officer Charged in Man’s Death Posted: 23 Sep 2016 04:30 AM PDT TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Prosecutors in Tulsa, Oklahoma, charged a white police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black man on a city street with first-degree manslaughter Thursday. Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler filed the charges against officer Betty Shelby, who shot and killed 40-year-old Terence Crutcher on Sept. 16. Dashcam and aerial footage of the shooting and its aftermath showed Crutcher walking away from Shelby with his arms in the air. The footage does not offer a clear view of when Shelby fired the single shot that killed Crutcher. Her attorney has said Crutcher was not following police commands and that Shelby opened fire when the man began to reach into his SUV window. But Crutcher's family immediately discounted that claim, saying the father of four posed no threat to the officers, and police said Crutcher did not have gun on him or in his vehicle. More |
