Doctors: Hillary suffering serious neurological disease

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 09:00 PM PDT

'Almost certainly renders her incapable of performing the duties of the president'

NEW YORK – Two physicians agree Hillary Clinton is suffering a serious neurological disease that should disqualify her from being president.

Theodore "Ted" Noel, a retired anesthesiologist in Orlando, Florida, with 36 years experience and a background in critical care medicine explained to WND he was so convinced Clinton has Parkinson's disease that he has now produced several videos arguing that point.

Dr. Daniel Kassicieh, D.O., a dual board-certified osteopathic neurologist and a leading headache specialist who directs the Florida Headache and Movement Disorder Center in Sarasota, Florida, told WND that while he agrees she has a neurological disease, he believes it is not Parkinson's.

Trump is doing better with Hispanics than you think

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 08:00 PM PDT

Donald Trump is performing about as well with Hispanic voters as GOP nominee Mitt Romney did in 2012, according to opinion polls — something that unsettles Democrats and surprises even some Republicans.

Skeptics had suggested that Trump would suffer a blowout among Hispanics, given that his rhetoric, on illegal immigration in particular, has been controversial.

Trump's promise to build a wall on the southern U.S. border and force Mexico to pay for it is perhaps the best known of his campaign pledges. And at his campaign launch in June 2015, he said people coming into the country illegally were "rapists."

But as of right now, there is not much evidence to suggest that Trump is faring any worse among Hispanics than did Romney, who at one point argued that illegal immigrants in the United States could be persuaded to "self-deport."

Emails Show Hillary Aide Sid Blumenthal Created Obama "Birther" Conspiracy

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 07:00 PM PDT

Following last week's clarification from Trump that President Obama is American-born, the mainstream media has worked hard to dispel his claims that Hillary's team in fact started the "birther" issue. Just this morning, Hillary exclaimed that she was "appalled" that Trump had not apologized to Obama, which is ironic as McClatchy has just clarified the details onemails that show Hillary Clinton confidant Sid Blumenthal did share "birther" story tips.

Via McClatchyDC.com's David Goldstein,

It's still one person's word against another. While emails show that Hillary Clinton confidant Sid Blumenthal did share story tips about Barack Obama with McClatchy's former bureau chief James Asher, the emails aren't conclusive that Blumenthal was the source of the "birther" tip.

Obama won’t acknowledge terrorism — and it’s great news for Trump

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 06:00 PM PDT

Poor President Obama. He had a perfect plan — to use his final UN speech Tuesday to secure his reputation for putting Globalism First. He would preen to the assembled autocrats and bureaucrats about forcing America to take in a record number of refugees, and blast Donald Trump for putting America First.

Hillary Clinton also had a perfect plan. She would keep attacking Trump and his supporters as dangerous and deplorable in hopes that she could scare her way into the White House. With Obama playing the race card to help her with black voters, Clinton would wrap her arms ever more tightly around the president and his policies between now and November.

But terrorist bombings and stabbings are great disrupters, especially when they involve both New York and the heartland in a single weekend. The disruption becomes unbearable when the attacks allegedly are carried out by foreign-born Muslims who were welcomed here with open arms, then turned on their generous American hosts.

With Trump Regaining North Carolina Lead, Hillary Unexpectedly Postpones Local Fundraiser "Without Reason"

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 05:00 PM PDT

If there was a time Hillary needed to make a public appearance in the key battleground state of North Carolina to drum up voter support, it was today, if for no other reason than a just released Elon University poll finding Trump now has a modest 44% advantage among likely voters in the Tar Heel State, with 43% going to Clinton.

According to the poll, most voters felt Trump would be better for rich people, white people and men, while most believe Clinton would be better for poor people, women and minorities. "This election is so tight right now, that small swings of a few points should be expected between now and November," said Jason Husser, assistant professor of political science at Elon and director of the Elon University Poll. "North Carolina has been extremely important over the last several election cycles with very tight election outcomes. These numbers suggest that will continue to be the case, and both campaigns would do well to continue to focus on the Old North State."

It's not just the closeness of the poll that makes NC so critical; it's also Trump's recent rebound, which as shown in the following chart from Real Clear Politics has him taking the lead for the first time since late June.

The Salvation Army Needs Your Help

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 04:30 PM PDT

The Salvation Army Needs Your Help to Feed 3,192
People This Holiday Season

You can make this a holiday to remember for the hungriest families on the Lower eastern Shore

As unemployment remains high and many people are still struggling, The Salvation Army is sounding an urgent call to Eastern Shore neighbors to respond generously to the needs of the less fortunate. The Army is asking for immediate donations of cash, non-perishable food, and volunteers to help with program service during the holidays.

The organization will be providing food baskets for 2,000 this year at the Youth Club gym on December the 22nd and 23rd as well as it ongoing assistance during November and December.

"We need $5,000 just to cover the costs of providing food to those in need on the Lower Eastern Shore this holiday season," says Major Vic Tidman. "The number of families finding themselves in desperate financial straits continues to increase in our local communities. The need for compassionate support from the community is more essential than ever."

"We know people have been seriously affected by the deep recession over the past few years, and we are grateful to generous friends who have provided faithful support for those struggling to make ends meet," says Major Tidman. "Unfortunately, the need has not decreased, and the level of public support is just not keeping up. It is particularly sad for us to see the growing numbers of families with children who have lost their homes and are now needing our help."

The economic situation has contributed to the drop in local donations too. In fact, some who have been generous supporters in the past are now coming to our doors in need of help themselves.

Many struggling individuals feel forgotten and disheartened as they approach the Holiday season, but The Salvation Army believes the community will once again step forward and help those who need it most. "We've been doing this work for over 100 years so we're not going to turn away any deserving neighbor now," says Major Tidman. "The Salvation Army plans on doing the most good we can with the gifts we receive to help those in the greatest need in our community. We urge our friends, those whose circumstances will allow, to dig deep this year to spread the spirit of Thanksgiving to those who are facing particularly hard times."

To donate to The Salvation Army, please call 410.749.771, mail your gift to 407 Oak Street, Salisbury, Maryland, 21804, donate online at http://salarmyles.org, or Text Give to 410.202.0995.

About The Salvation Army on the Lower Eastern Shore

Over 103 years on The Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to carry out those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.

Hillary Clinton Vows to Speak ‘Directly to White People’ to Stop Racial Police Shootings

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 04:00 PM PDT

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton vows she'll tackle the racism in the nation's law enforcement system.

"We gotta tackle the systemic racism, this horrible shooting again, how many times do we have to see this in our country?" she said in an appearance on the Steve Harvey show. Clinton was specifically referring to the police shooting of Terence Crutcher in Tulsa, Oklahoma, saying he had his "hands in the air" when he was killed.

"This is unbearable and it needs to be intolerable," she said.

Clinton told Harvey that if the African-American community came out and voted for her, she would work to stop racial shootings by police officers.

"Maybe I can by speaking directly to white people say, 'Look this is not who we are,'" she said. "We've got to do everything possible to improve policing, to go right at implicit bias.

Naked Mike Rowe Pulls Shotgun on Drone That Invades His Property

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 03:30 PM PDT

Mike Rowe, the TV host, writer, narrator, producer, spokesman for the working class, and all around great guy woke from sleep and rolled out of bed only to come face to face with a drone hovering overhead and recording.

Mike did the first thing that came to mind – he grabbed his 12 gauge shotgun to blast the drone from the skies. As Mike tells the story on his Facebook page:

Leave Me Adrone!

Early this morning, deep in the middle of some sort of strange gardening dream, I was awakened by the sound of a giant bumble bee, hovering a few inches from my ear. As I slowly entered a more conscious state, I realized the sound was not coming from a bee in a dream, nor for that matter, a bee in reality. It was coming from something much larger, just outside my bedroom window. Dressed in my favorite pair of non-existent pajamas, I leapt from my bed and pulled the drapes aside. There, not three feet in front of me, was a camera, dangling from the underside of a drone. The red light was on, and the camera was rolling.

Prescription painkillers are more widely used than tobacco, new federal study finds

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 03:00 PM PDT

More than 1 in 3 American adults -- 35 percent -- were given painkiller prescriptions by medical providers last year. The total rate of painkiller use is even higher -- 38 percent -- when you factor in the number of adults who obtained painkillers for misuse via other means, from friends or relatives, or via drug dealers.

These numbers come from a recent Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration report that highlights the stunning ubiquity of prescription painkillers in modern American life. The report indicates that in 2015, more American adults used prescription painkillers than used cigarettes, smokeless tobacco or cigars -- combined.

VIDEO:Hagerstown girl, 15, pepper sprayed, charged after bike crash

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 02:50 PM PDT

HAGERSTOWN — Police pepper-sprayed a 15-year-old girl and charged her as a juvenile with assault and disorderly conduct after her bicycle hit a car, prompting disagreement Wednesday about whether the officers acted properly.

Hagerstown Police Capt. Paul Kifer said the white officer who arrested the mixed-race girl had to subdue her with chemical spray to get her into a cruiser for a ride to the police station Sunday.

Kifer said the girl had refused to cooperate with police trying to question her about the accident and find a parent to authorize her refusal to receive medical treatment from paramedics on the scene.

"The investigation had to be done," Kifer said. He said that while she appeared uninjured, police also wanted to make sure the girl wasn't hurt and find out who she was.

‘Disrespectful’ Parade Float Shows Obama, Clinton In Jail PHILLIP STUCKY

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 02:30 PM PDT

A float in the Texas Tri-State Parade created by the Confederate Riders of America portrayed President Barack Obama and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in a jail cell Monday.

The group asserts there was no racial meaning behind the float, but local black residents felt it was a step too far.

"A lot of people in the black and Hispanic community are saying, 'why would you put a black man in a cage?'" Amarillo resident Rodney Darnes told local news station KXXV. "The fact that Hillary is in the float only sets the women's movement further back."

The float was officially created by a group called Stars and Bars, and was supported by the Confederate Riders of America. "It was in no way racist," the President of the Confederate Riders of America Michael Bateman told reporters. "There was a sign right next to them that said 'Hillary for prison, 2016. We had no racial intentions at all."

The 13 words you can’t write about Hillary Clinton anymore

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 01:00 PM PDT

Hillary Clinton has been in the public eye for a very long time, which means much has been written about her -- including quite a few adjectives. But some of these adjectives are now off-limits.
That's according to the Clinton "Super Volunteers," who have promised to track the media's use of words they believe to be sexist code words. The New York Times's Amy Chozick tweeted a missive she received from the group (which we would note is almost definitely not connected to official Team Clinton) on Wednesday:

EpiPen CEO Grilled on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON (WJZ)– EpiPen manufacturer Mylan's CEO was on the hot seat Wednesday in Capitol Hill due to nationwide outcry over skyrocketing EpiPen prices.

Congress laid into Heather Bresch for jacking up prices on a vital medication.

"You raised the price, what did you think was going to happen?" said Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform.

Bresch tried to explain why EpiPen prices have climbed more than 500 percent in just the last 9 years as top execs got huge raises.

"You have five executives in five years that earned nearly $300 million in compensation," said Chaffetz.

Who does Hillary find more deplorable - Jihadists or Trump supporters?

Who does Hillary Clinton find more deplorable -- Islamic radicals or Donald Trump supporters?

I read a transcript of her remarks on Sept. 19th in the aftermath of the terror attacks in Minnesota, New York and New Jersey -- and to be honest -- it's hard to tell.

"We will defend our country and we will defeat the evil, twisted ideology of the terrorists," she declared.

Notice that she condemned the ideology of the Muslims bad guys – but she did not actually condemn the Muslim bad guys.

Hillary proves she doesn’t understand our terrorist enemy

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 11:00 AM PDT

Someone dares call it treason. Hillary Clinton used the occasion of the New York-area bombings to accuse Donald Trump of providing "aid and comfort" to ISIS.

This speaks both to her desperation, as polls show a tightening race, and her foolish misunderstanding of what drives ISIS and other Islamic radicals.

Clinton makes it sound like ISIS fighters are disaffected members of a swing-state focus group who, as soon as they hear an offensive statement from Donald Trump, prepare the next attack.

If Hillary really believes Trump is a "recruiting sergeant" for terrorists, she has a thin understanding of human motivation. It takes something very powerful to convince a young man to risk life and limb fighting for a terror group that is hunted and bombed wherever it gains a foothold. That something isn't the ephemera of an American presidential campaign; it's religion.

"I think she has some significant health problems–I don't know what they are," he said.

"Her losing consciousness, there, which by all appearances she did lose consciousness, is not something commonly associated with pneumonia," the surgeon said.

US Federal Debt Is Expanding At The Fastest Rate Since The Crisis

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 09:53 AM PDT

A few days ago, the federal debt of the United States rather quietly and unceremoniously passed the $19.5 trillion mark.

And while that figure may seem absolutely confounding, what's even more alarming is how rapidly the US government is racking up this debt.

In fact, for the 2016 fiscal year that ends in just ten more days, the US government's debt growth of $1.36 trillion is on track to be the third biggest annual increase ever.

The only two years in all of US history that posted higher US debt growth were 2009 and 2010– the peak of the financial crisis.

Hillary Clinton Rewarded 194 Donors With Seats on State Dept. Advisory Boards

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 09:37 AM PDT

The Washington Examinerreports that 194 of Hillary Clinton's donors were named to advisory boards while she was Secretary of State between 2009 and 2012.

These were all people who donated to "either to her family's foundation, her political campaigns, or both, or were affiliated with groups that had," according to the Examiner'sreview of federal records. Fully 40 percent of the State Department advisory appointments during Clinton's time as Secretary of State went to her donors.

The Examiner is careful to note such appointments are not illegal or unprecedented, as "presidents and cabinet secretaries from both parties have long rewarded friends and contributors with high-level appointments," but suggests this news will not mix well with questions swirling around "pay for play" access given to Clinton Foundation donors by the former Secretary of State.

While some of the protests today are in response to shootings in Charlotte and Tulsa, this one was in response to something much closer to home. Racist graffiti had been painted on the side of a women's center on the EMU campus.

Obamacare Imploding, Clinton Pushes For Gov't Take Over

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 09:23 AM PDT

Obamacare exchanges are imploding nationwide, and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is pushing for a government-run public option as a solution to the failing healthcare system.

It's hard to imagine a situation in which Obamacare could get any worse: 16 healthcare co-ops have gone under, the Tennessee Health Commissioner is saying the state's Obamacare exchanges are "very near collapse," and analysts can't even fathom a positive future for the system in either the short or long term

UnitedHealth Group is exiting 31 of the 34 exchanges in which they participate and Aetna is leaving 11 of its 15 states by the end of 2016. Some 75 percent of exchanges will have narrow insurance options in 2017, a figure up markedly from 64 percent in 2016 and 55 percent in 2015, according to Becker's Hospital Review. In fact, five states are likely to have just one insurer in 2017, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Donald Trump: Hillary Clinton lacks 'moral clarity' to be president

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 09:15 AM PDT

Donald Trump blasted Hillary Clinton Tuesday for being weak on fighting terrorism, saying she attacks his supporters more viciously than radical Islamic terrorists and supports lax immigration policies that put Americans at risk.

He said that's why she lacked the "moral clarity" to be president.

"She calls the patriotic Americans who support our campaign — many of them cops and soldiers — deplorable and irredeemable. Has she ever talked that way about Radical Islam?" the Republican presidential nominee said at a rally in High Point, North Carolina.

The intense focus on terrorism and national security follow the weekend bombings in New York and New Jersey, allegedly carried out by an Afghanistan immigrant who became a U.S. citizen.

"She calls the patriotic Americans who support our campaign — many of them cops and soldiers — deplorable and irredeemable. Has she ever talked that way about Radical Islam, or about those who oppress and murder women and gays oversea," he asked.

Pat Caddell: Hillary Clinton ‘Attacked the American People, She Didn’t Attack David Duke’

Veteran pollster Pat Caddell joined Wednesday's edition of Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM to discuss the latest presidential polls and the continued fallout from Hillary Clinton's "basket of deplorables" comment.

Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow asked Caddell if he thought Donald Trump's five-point lead in the latest L.A. Times tracking poll was credible. Caddell described the L.A. Times methodology of querying a panel of voters daily as an "experimental approach," and said he was "fascinated" by the results.

"I think it's a credible approach," he said. "Certainly I have a lot more interest in it than I do, for instance, the Washington Post poll, which is historically, in every election, cannot get the – some polls tilt one way, I guess, some tilt the other. This has always tilted over its sampling, overly Democratic. It's a 10-point margin in their last poll, which showed Trump down 5. So if you take it to where it is, at best, basically a 5-point Democratic Party preference edge, you had basically a dead heat, but you know the Washington Post can't report something like that."

Senator Seeks Formal,Damage Assessment of Clinton Email Secrets Loss

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 09:00 AM PDT

American intelligence agencies must conduct a formal review of the damage to U.S. security caused by the disclosure of secrets on Hillary Clinton's unsecure email server, according a to Republican senator.

Sen. Ben Sasse (R., Neb.) stated in a letter to Director of National Intelligence James Clapper that the failure to conduct a damage assessment risks discrediting U.S. intelligence agencies with charges of politicization or incompetence.

Sasse, a member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, requested a formal damage assessment after a report in the Washington Free Beacon revealed that Clapper's DNI office had declined to conduct the assessment—despite an intelligence directive requiring such inquiries in the wake of classified data compromises.

An FBI investigation into the Clinton email server found that highly classified data on CIA drone strikes against terrorists was improperly placed on the server and discussed in emails.

The FBI also said foreign intelligence services may have gained access to the emails sent and received by Clinton and several key aides between 2009 and 2013 when she was secretary of state, potentially increasing the damage from the information security failure.

"Brilliant and committed patriots work hard every day on our behalf in the Intelligence Community," Sasse told the Free Beacon. "We undermine that work if we shrug at the possible implications of these unauthorized disclosures."

Gregg Jarrett: Is Anthony Weiner sexting his way to the slammer?

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 08:45 AM PDT

Anthony Weiner would be well advised to retain a skilled criminal defense attorney.

Either that, or a tailor who can outfit him for the latest trend in prison stripes.

If the new reports of his sexting with a 15-year-old girl are true, the disgraced former congressman could find himself behind bars if convicted under both state and federal laws that criminalize such sick behavior.

Messages and photographs published byThe Daily Mail appear to show Weiner carrying on a months-long online sexual relationship with the girl. The lewd sexting reportedly included sexual role-playing and rape fantasies.

The messages allegedly indicate Weiner knew he was chatting with an underage girl.

Weiner is a known liar and sexting addict. But is he also a child predator? If you can stomach a reading of the news accounts, together with the lurid messages he seems to have sent, you will reach an inexorable conclusion. So, too, may a jury.

What crimes might Weiner have committed? Quite a few, actually. Both state and federal.

Death Investigation In Marion Station, MD

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 08:18 AM PDT

(Marion Station, MD) – On 09/21/2016 at approximately 1000 hours, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack responded to Landon Store Road, Marion Station MD regarding a report for a discovered body.

A utility company was digging a power line at a residence when the excavator located a white medical container approximately 2-3ft underground. Inside of the box was what appeared to be a baby blanket with human remains which contained a hospital bracelet with the word "Baby" written on it.

Investigators from the Princess Anne Criminal Enforcement Division responded and took over the investigation. It was learned that the previous homeowner was deceased but still had family located in the area. Contact was made with family members and it was discovered that the previous homeowner had a baby that had died at birth in 1971. The baby was buried in the front yard of the residence near a flower garden at the family's request. The location where the utility company was digging on today's date is where the flower garden was located in 1971.

The body was then transported to Medical Examiner's Office for proper burial.

Clinton Foundation's Latest Scandal Involves Payments For "Exclusive Access To New Lime Production" In Haiti

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 08:15 AM PDT

In the media's latest blatant attempt to "criminalize behavior that is normal", the Wall Street Journal recently highlighted yet another questionable pay-for-play allegation between Bill Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and a powerful European perfume industry trade group called the Fragrance Foundation. The alleged scandal begins with a $260,000 payment to Bill Clinton for a January 2014 speech to the Fragrance Foundation and ends with Firmenich International, one of the world's largest fragrance and flavoring suppliers, getting access to an exclusive supply of limeoil from Haiti with a little help from their new friends at the Clinton Foundation...but only after another $200,000 of "donations" to a Clinton Foundation company, based in Haiti, called the Acceso Peanut Enterprise Corporation.

The problem for Firmenich began back in early 2014 when the "Citrus Greening Disease" began wiping out 1,000s of acres of citrus in North America driving the price of limeoil, a key perfume input, through the roof. Per the chart below, the price of limeoil hovered around $15,000 per metric ton for decades before surging to over $50,000 per metric ton in June 2014.

George Soros to Invest $500 Million in Immigration Push

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 08:00 AM PDT

Billionaire investor George Soros pledged on Tuesday to invest up to $500 million in programs and companies benefiting migrants and refugees fleeing life-threatening situations.

"We will invest in startups, established companies, social impact initiatives, and businesses started by migrants and refugees. These investments are intended to be successful. But our primary focus is to create products and services that truly benefit migrants and host communities," the 86-year-old said in an official statement.

On Monday, the U.N. opened its first summit addressing the current refugee and migrant crisis. The U.N. and Unicef calculate that a record 65 million people were forcibly displaced from their homes in 2015, with more than half from just three countries: Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia, Reuters reported.

The Open Society Foundations (OSF), a non-profit organization owned by Soros, will be in charge of the funds, the statement said. Any profits from the investments would go to the OSF's migrant and refugee-related programs, which include community centers in Greece and initiatives to provide Syrian refugees with legal advice.

"Refugees need access to financial and legal services, education, and employment opportunities; we believe the private sector is uniquely placed to help build the infrastructure needed to support these services," the U.N.'s High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi said of the Soros investment.

Does quitting social media make you happier? Yes, say young people doing it

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 07:45 AM PDT

Our love of social media seems to have grown and grown in the past decade, but recent studies show the tide may be turning for some platforms, with young people in particular ditching Facebook. One study claims that more than 11 million teenagers left Facebook between 2011 and 2014. It's been argued that they are swapping public platforms such as Twitter and Instagram for more private messaging apps like WhatsApp and Snapchat.

We asked the Guardian's younger readers whether they have quit social media and why, as well as what apps they are ditching. Almost all reported a greater sense of happiness after going offline. Here, we share some of their experiences.
Daisy, 23, Manchester: 'I feel less anxious and less like a failure'
Daisy

After a romance ended with a guy I really liked, I kept trying to avoid Facebook so I wouldn't have to see him. It was after this that I gradually switched off from it, but before that I'd been wanting to quit for a while.

Facebook made me feel anxious, depressed and like a failure. When I went online it seemed like everyone was in Australia or Thailand, and if they weren't travelling they were getting engaged or landing great jobs. I felt like everyone was living the dream and I was still at home with my parents, with debt from my student loan hanging over me.

I also felt that if I wasn't tagging myself at restaurants or uploading photos from nights out, people would assume I wasn't living. I remember a friend from uni said to me once, "Yeah, but you're still going out having fun, I've seen on Facebook." I tried to present myself as always having a great time. If my status didn't get more than five likes, I'd delete it.

Making Rescuing Refugees a Priority

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 07:30 AM PDT

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)– Following his United Nation's address, President Obama joined other world leaders to discuss the worst refugee crisis since World War II.

"You have to imagine what it would be like for our families, our children if the unspeakable happened to us," said Obama.

From the Middle East to Africa, factors such as war, political upheaval, poverty and famine, have put millions on the move. Baltimore's Catholic Relief Services took part in the meeting.

"We must just step up," said Carolyn Woo, CEO of the Catholic Relief Services, an organization active in refugee camps from the Middle East to Europe.

Ann Coulter: Trump Busts Muslim Protection Racket

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 07:15 AM PDT

Forty minutes after the explosion in Chelsea Saturday night, Donald Trump told a crowd in Colorado that a bomb had gone off in New York and said, "We better get very tough, folks. We better get very, very tough."

For the next 48 hours, the media denounced Trump for jumping to conclusions about a "bomb" — and especially for the wild suggestion that government policy had had anything to do with it. (How about our policy of naturalizing 858 people from terrorist-producing countries who were still under orders of deportation? Is it deplorable to ask about that policy?)

That night, CNN boasted that it placed "numerous requests" to the Trump campaign, demanding his evidence that it was a bomb. This explosive-filled device with a detonator that blew up in a dumpster — what makes you think it was a bomb?

Hoping to get a snappy riposte from the pouty pantsuit on Trump's wild leap from an explosion in a dumpster to a "bomb," the press asked her to comment on Trump's "conclusion" — as they termed his statement of the blindingly obvious.

Hillary referred to the bombing as a "bombing," then snipped, "I think it's important to know the facts about any incident like this … I think it's always wiser to wait until you have information before making conclusions."

Internet addiction could signal other problems

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 07:00 AM PDT

Internet addiction may signal other mental health issues among college students, according to a new study.

Canadian researchers say their findings could affect how psychiatrists approach people who spend a significant amount of time online.

For the study, the researchers evaluated the internet use of 254 freshmen at McMaster University in Ontario. The researchers used a tool called the Internet Addiction Test (IAT), developed in 1998, as well as their own scale based on more recent criteria.

"Internet use has changed radically over the last 18 years, through more people working online, media streaming, social media, etc. We were concerned that the IAT questionnaire may not have been picking up on problematic modern internet use, or showing up false positives for people who were simply using the internet rather than being over-reliant on it," said chief researcher Dr. Michael Van Ameringen. He is a professor of psychiatry and behavioral neuroscience at McMaster.

Most of those addicted to the internet had trouble controlling their use of video streaming and social networking sites as well as instant messaging tools, the researchers found.

They had more trouble handling their daily routines and higher rates of depression, anxiety, impulsiveness and inattention. They also had problems with planning and time management, the researchers found.

Dr. Jan Buitelaar is a professor of psychiatry at Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center in the Netherlands. He said: "Excessive use of the internet is an understudied phenomenon that may disguise mild or severe psychopathology; excessive use of the internet may be strongly linked to compulsive behavior and addiction."

Judge blasts State Department for slow-walking Hillary Clinton’s emails

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 06:53 AM PDT

A federal judge blasted the Obama administration for slow-walking the release of some of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails, saying in court Monday that the government appears to be withholding information from voters ahead of the election.

U.S. District Judge Richard Leon said the State Department in not "being all that cooperative," and told the Justice Department lawyers to get the State Department to shape up and do its duty.

"Get with the program, so to speak, so that the people of this country can have the information they need," he ordered. "The State Department needs to start cooperating to the fullest extent possible. They are not perceived to be doing that."

Judge Leon, who has earned a reputation as a funny but caustic jurist, particularly when he finds government bungling, said the Justice Department, by not forcing the State Department to cooperate better, is risking its own storied reputation.

He specifically called out the federal programs branch that acts as the lawyer for the rest of the government, and the head of that division, Marcia Berman. Ms. Berman wasn't in the courtroom Monday, but has been a frequent figure at the courthouse over the last year as the administration has had to defend its handling of Mrs. Clinton's emails.

The case is one of dozens pending where the department has been accused of slow-walking, keeping information out of public view for far longer than is allowed under the Freedom of Information Act.

Karl Marx Was an Idiot

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 06:45 AM PDT

One of the great mysteries of the world is the infatuation that some people have for socialism. It has never worked. In fact, if you had set out to invent an economic system doomed to failure, you would probably come up with socialism. After all, it is based on the notion that it is natural for people to share equally with each other, even with those who refuse to do their share of the labor.

Competition is natural to human beings. You see it in ballparks, on school playgrounds, at the Olympics and in the workplace. Humans compete for money, prestige, position, mates, even for prom dates. But Karl Marx, a pinhead who rarely bathed, decided that on his mere say-so, he could reverse thousands of years of human nature. And just in case he couldn't, he also came up with communism, an inevitable adjunct that supplies a few individuals with the dictatorial power to enforce socialism on the masses.

You may have noticed that whenever the eventual failure of socialism is pointed out, be it in the Soviet Union, China, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela or even in its less despotic forms, as in Greece, Puerto Rico and Italy, its moronic adherents — Bernie Sanders, for example — insist that socialism itself is perfect, but that it hasn't yet been done properly. All that's required to make it work the way it's supposed to is to have the right person at the helm, someone like, well, themselves..

Where is Hillary?

The Clinton campaign is postponing a fundraiser in North Carolina for unexplained reasons, while Hillary Clinton remains absent from the campaign trail.

Hillary Clinton postponed a lunch fundraiser in Chapel Hill with some of the state's wealthiest and most prominent Democrats.

No reason was given for postponement of the Clinton event, according to CBS North Carolina. It was expected to take place at the home of Betty Craven and Michael Warner.

The event was billed as "lunch with Hillary Rodham Clinton" and costs ranged from $2,700 to $100,000.

A Clinton spokesman did not respond to a request from Breitbart News for comment.

Clinton appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday night, but it was previously taped in New York City on Friday.

Changing who controls ICANN jeopardizes our presidential election

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 06:23 AM PDT

Changing who controls the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) so close to our presidential election will jeopardize the results of how you vote on Nov. 8 unless Congress stops this changeover.

When the calendar hits Sept. 30, a mere 6 weeks before our election, the United States cannot be assured that if any web site is hacked, the responsible party will be held accountable. We cannot be sure if a web site is valid. We cannot be sure if one country is being favored over another. These are all the things ICANN is responsible for and has worked perfectly since the Internet was created.

Why change it now and so close to the election? Why does that matter to you as a voter?

Take a look at recent cyber activity as it relates to the election. The Democratic National Convention was breached comprising the entire party's strategy, donor base, and indeed, national convention. Everything the DNC had done to prepare for a moment four years in the making (if not longer) was undermined by a hacker who had been in their system for some time but waited for the optimal moment to spring it on the DNC – opening day of the convention. The FBI and other U.S. agencies, as the headlines blare, suspect Russia is responsible for the hack. Recently, Vladimir Putin went so far as to say, "Does it matter who broke in? Surely what's important is the content of what was released to the public."

It matters to all of us whether we live in the United States or not, if a hostile country can undermine our democratic process. There is even more alarming evidence this is happening during this election cycle..

Air Force Grounds 'Combat Ready' F-35s Over Coolant Line Flaws

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 06:15 AM PDT

Seven weeks after the Air Force declared its first F-35 jets combat ready, 10 of the aircraft aren't flying after service mechanics discovered "peeling and crumbling" insulation wrapped around lines that carry liquid to cool combat systems and computers.

The poor insulation is suspected on 57 aircraft, including 42 on Lockheed Martin Corp.'s production line. The issue is not a design flaw with the aircraft but instead caused by manufacturing quality glitches with one of two subcontractors which make the 18 lines through which the coolant flows, according to an Air Force statement and an interview with a service official, who asked not to be identified.

If not fixed, the crumbling insulation could become lodged in the lines connecting the aircraft's wing and fuselage fuel tanks causing potential over-pressure or under-pressure that "may cause structural damage to the fuel tanks," according to a statement sent Friday to House and Senate defense committees.

"The issue was discovered during depot modification" of an Air Force jet and has resulted this month in a "temporary pause in flight operations," according to a separate statement from the service. Ten of the 15 aircraft not flying are located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, home of the service's first combat-ready squadron. The other five aircraft don't have the flawed insulation and continue to fly regular sorties, the office said. Two aircraft delivered for Norway are also not flying, said the official.

Dinesh D'Souza: Trump Can Beat Hillary by Exposing Democrats' Racial History

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 06:07 AM PDT

Donald Trump has "all of the facts" he needs to defeat Hillary Clinton on the racial history of the Democratic Party, author and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza told Newsmax TV on Tuesday.

"Trump is a New York guy. Grew up in Queens. He's been a builder in New York," D'Souza, 55, told "America Talks Live" in an interview. "What is his relationship with the white supremacy movement? Zero.

"What does he know about the Ku Klux Klan? Very little."

"Now contrast this to Bill and Hillary," he said of the Clintons. "They got their political teeth cut in Arkansas.

"Bill's mentor was Orval Faubus, a longtime governor of Arkansas … , who stood in the door of the Arkansas schoolhouse to block little black kids from being able to go to public schools in Arkansas.

"When [Dwight] Eisenhower, the Republican president, sent in the National Guard, they shut down all the public schools in Arkansas for almost a year.

"This is the history of the Democratic Party — and this is the history on which Bill and Hillary cut their teeth," D'Souza said. "They made good relations with Faubus by the way throughout their political careers.

"While the Republican Party repudiated David Duke, the Democratic Party embraced Robert Byrd.

Conservatives Eager to Question IRS Commissioner Under Oath

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 06:00 AM PDT

The Ohio congressman leading House conservatives in the drive to impeach IRS Commissioner John Koskinen for High Crimes and Misdemeanors during his tenure told Breitbart News Wednesday's impeachment hearing with Koskinen testifying under oath has been a long time coming.

"We've been trying for 15 months, since we introduced the first resolution by Mr. Chaffetz, which had something like 84 co-sponsors, so we've been trying, and trying and trying," said Rep. Jim Jordan (R.-Ohio), who was the last chairman of the Republican Study Committee, before it transitioned from being the chamber's conservative bloc to an arm of leadership.

A motion of impeachment filed by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R.-Utah), the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, passed his committee, but did not clear the Judiciary Committee.

Koskinen, like all IRS commissioners, serves a five-year term. His term ends Nov. 12, 2017. If the House votes to impeach Koskinen by a simple majority, the matter is presented to the Senate as an indictment. The Senate would hold a trial and vote on a conviction.

House conservatives were poised to execute a privileged motion Thursday, which would have forced a vote on Koskinen's impeachment without debate or opportunity for amendment.

Shortly before midnight Wednesday, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R.-S.C.), acting as an envoy from the House GOP leadership, brokered an agreement so that House conservatives would postpone a vote on impeachment until after the election in exchange for a hearing with the House Judiciary Committee with the IRS commissioner under oath.

Capitol Hill sources familiar with the situation told Breitbart News Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R.-Wis.) and the House Republican leadership had been blocking action on the impeachment for months.

Governor Larry Hogan Announces Israeli Company Opens U.S Headquarters in Maryland

Posted: 22 Sep 2016 04:00 AM PDT

Nayax Moves into Hunt Valley Offices After Acquisition of Maryland Vending Machine Operators

ANNAPOLIS, MD –
On the first day of an economic development mission to Israel, Governor Larry Hogan announced that Israel-based Nayax, a global leader in the cashless payment solutions industry, has opened its U.S. headquarters in Maryland. The company, which was established in 2005 and now operates in more than 50 countries, opened an office in Hunt Valley following its acquisition of InOne, a Maryland distributor service solution for vending machines. Nayax currently has more than 15 sales, technical support and finance employees in Maryland with plans to grow.

"With our offices located in Hunt Valley, Nayax finds itself well positioned for day-to-day operations and future expansion," said Carly Furman, chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Nayax, LLC. "The unattended device industry has a strong presence in the greater Maryland area and beyond. Our centrality lets us easily reach existing and potential customers, as well as work closely with industry advocates with the support of the Maryland DC Vending Association."

"We are proud to welcome global company Nayax to Maryland and look forward to helping them to grow in our state," said Governor Hogan. "Maryland's strategic location and unique access to quality employees, international airports, rail lines, and the Port of Baltimore will provide Nayax with a competitive advantage to expand into new markets and attract new customers."

Nayax was among several innovative Israeli companies that Governor Hogan met with today as he kicked off his economic development mission to Israel. The governor is leading a delegation of business, education and community leaders on the weeklong mission, which is aimed at strengthening cultural ties and promoting Maryland as a gateway for Israeli companies seeking to establish U.S. operations.

Maryland has long maintained ties with Israel, building on shared strengths in biotechnology, information technology, aerospace and defense. Approximately 24 Israeli companies currently maintain offices in Maryland, including Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., Medispec and IMI Services (a subsidiary of Israel Military Industries). In 2015, Israel was Maryland's 43rd largest trading partner with $145.1 million in product exports, mostly chemicals, transportation equipment, and computer and electronic products.

About Nayax

Nayax has more than 100,000 devices installed worldwide and, in addition to providing cashless payment solutions, also offers telemetry systems and a management and monitoring business suite for the unattended machine industry, including vending machines. The company's products are designed to remotely manage the machines and are compatible with all forms of credit, debit and pre- and post-paid cards. Nayax recently acquired VendSys, a developer of cloud-based vending management software, to strengthen its U.S. presence, deliver a comprehensive, cost-effective solution, and provide fuller value-added services to its international customer base.
