War Monger Political Elites Support Hillary Clinton Posted: 01 Sep 2016 10:00 PM PDT If you like endless, pointless wars then Hillary is your candidate If you are big on foreign wars, arming our enemies against us, or arming our enemies against each other, Hillary Clinton is your candidate for president. Neocons, like Iraq War architect under George W. Bush, Paul Wolfowitz, announced he is a Hillary Clinton supporter. Wolfowitz joins a chorus of neoconservatives who have offered Clinton their endorsement. Margaret Howell and Lee Ann McAdoo discuss Clinton, and her involvement in the destabilization of the middle east. More
How a Maryland Farmer Got $30,000 Back From the IRS Posted: 01 Sep 2016 09:00 PM PDT A Maryland dairy farmer who had nearly $30,000 taken from him by the IRSOpens a New Window. more than four years ago will now be getting that money back. The government announced the decision in June to return the funds, which were taken in February 2012 through civil forfeiture laws, to South Mountain Creamery owner Randy Sowers. During an interview on the FOX Business Network on Monday, Sowers explained why IRS took the money. "We do a lot of farmers markets and have a store on the farm where we take in a lot of cash," he said. "We normally just deposit the cash with no problem. One day my wife had $12,000 dollars and the [bank] teller asked her next time keep it under $10,000, that way she wouldn't have to fill out a lot of paper work. So that's what she did for 32 weeks that summer and February of the next year, the Justice Department showed up with some agents and was asking me about our accounts. I had no problem talking to them because we didn't do anything wrong that I knew of. We claimed all that money on our taxes." More

BleachBit helped Clinton erase 'money trail' of email destruction Posted: 01 Sep 2016 08:00 PM PDT Hillary Clinton's decision to use BleachBit to scrub her private email server could have been based on the fact that the free software can be downloaded and used with complete anonymity, the program's developer said. Andrew Ziem, the creator of BleachBit, pointed to a recent CNN report about his software in which a computer security expert had speculated that Clinton's team would have selected a more expensive, more sophisticated service if it truly sought to conceal records. IRS doesn’t tell 1M taxpayers that illegals stole their Social Security numbers Posted: 01 Sep 2016 07:30 PM PDT The IRS has discovered more than 1 million Americans whose Social Security numbers were stolen by illegal immigrants, but officials never bothered to tell the taxpayers themselves, the agency's inspector general said in a withering new report released Tuesday. Investigators first alerted the IRS to the problem five years ago, but it's still not fixed, the inspector general said, and a pilot program meant to test a solution was canceled — and fell woefully short anyway. As a result, most taxpayers don't learn that their identities have been stolen and their Social Security files may be screwed up. "Taxpayers identified as victims of employment-related identity theft are not notified," the inspector general said. More
Baltimore reaches 200 homicides with man's fatal stabbing Posted: 01 Sep 2016 07:00 PM PDT Baltimore officially has had 200 homicide victims in 2016 after an autopsy confirmed a 42-year-old man found dead Friday just west of downtown had been fatally stabbed. The victim, identified Monday as Franswhaun Smith, was found Friday about 7:50 a.m. in the 700 block of Murphy Lane, in the Heritage Crossing neighborhood that was formerly the site of the Murphy Homes public housing development. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said an autopsy confirmed he had been stabbed in the back. It is the fifth consecutive year Baltimore's homicide tally has reached 200 after recording 197 in all of 2011. That was the first time the city had recorded fewer than 200 victims since the late 1970s. More
Best cities for minorities found in the former Confederacy, not progressive East or West: Report Posted: 01 Sep 2016 06:30 PM PDT The best cities for racial minorities isn't New York or San Francisco, with their progressive politics and robust welfare packages, but in the Sun Belt — where less regulations, greater individual independence and housing opportunities reign. Ironically, of the top 15 cities for African-Americans, as rated by median household income, self-employment, housing affordability and population growth, 13 are in the former Confederacy, according to an analysis by Joel Kotkin's Center for Opportunity and Urbanism, published last year. "The data also show a strong contrast between America's luxury cities, such as New York, San Francisco or Boston, where high costs have significantly reduced opportunities for middle and working class households, and "opportunity cities," often located in less costly portions of the country like Texas or the South but that have also sustained more rapid and broadly based economic growth," Mr. Kotkin wrote in his report. Retired Green Beret Rages "How Can Hillary Still Be In The Running For President?" Posted: 01 Sep 2016 06:00 PM PDT It is literally amazing how an individual so crooked, so duplicitous, and with so many chargeable offenses can actually stay in the running for the presidency of the United States. Mac Slavo recently penned a piece on the $32-million-dollar donation from the Prince of Bahrain to Hillary Clinton (indirectly), via the Clinton Foundation. The battle for the presidency is won with the bank account, and Clinton is leaving Trump behind in the starting gates. Just in the month of July, Clinton raised $90 million for her campaign. $90 million. Now her new television ad campaign, coincidentally, is running her a cool $80 million. She has a virtually unlimited amount of cash to throw into this election, and remember the beauty of it all…anything she takes in at this point, she keeps, whether she wins the election or not, and it's not taxable income. She's operating in the green, and it's all going to be profit at this point. More
Newly-Leaked Democratic Memo Calls Black Lives Matter ‘Radical,’ Tells Staff Not To Offer Support Posted: 01 Sep 2016 05:30 PM PDT A newly-leaked memo from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee offers new insights into how leading Democrats view and discuss Black Lives Matter when no cameras are rolling and the microphones are turned off. The memo, dated November 19, 2015, is part of a folder from Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's personal computer that was published early Wednesday morning by hacker Guccifer 2.0. The folder contains information on immigration, Islam and Black Lives Matter. A memo on Black Lives Matter is stamped "confidential" and includes a mandate (in bold type) that DCCC staff not email or hand it off to "anyone outside of the building. Please only give campaign staff these best practices in meetings or over the phone." More
Harry Reid Links Trump to Russian Election Hack, Asks FBI to Probe Posted: 01 Sep 2016 05:00 PM PDT Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is asking the FBI to investigate the threat of Russian tampering with U.S. elections, including potentially falsifying election results. Reid argues in a letter to FBI Director James Comey that "evidence of a direct connection between the Russian government and Donald Trump's presidential campaign continues to mount." He points to ties between the Trump campaign and Russian interests and notes evidence of Russian efforts to intervene in the electoral process, including hacks of Democratic political organizations. NYPD Might Not Say If Officer In Chokehold Death Is Punished Posted: 01 Sep 2016 04:30 PM PDT NEW YORK (AP) –– New York City might never tell the public if the police officer at the center of the Eric Garner chokehold death case is disciplined, the mayor and police commissioner indicated this week after reaching a new interpretation of a 40-year-old state civil rights law. The New York Police Department recently ended a longstanding practice of letting reporters see a rundown of disciplinary actions, saying officials had concluded it violated the law. Asked Tuesday whether the new stance would apply to the officer who put his arm around Garner's neck in a case that helped fuel the Black Lives Matter movement, Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio said officials "have to honor state law." Citing the mayor's comments, Police Commissioner William Bratton said Wednesday the results of any potential disciplinary trial against Officer Daniel Pantaleo "would not be publicly available," though he predicted they probably would eventually "get out" somehow. One Dead As Violence Grips DC In Rash Of Shootings Posted: 01 Sep 2016 04:00 PM PDT One man is dead after a number of separate shootings and stabbings during a violent Monday night in Washington, D.C. Four men were stabbed in separate incidents in Northwest, D.C., within one hour. Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the various crimes, which do not appear to be connected. Police responded to a shooting at 11:45 p.m. in Brookland on Rhode Island Avenue in Northeast D.C., finding a man suffering from a gunshot wound lying on the sidewalk. The unidentified man later died at a local area hospital, reports The Washington Post. Authorities closed off the road until 7:30 a.m. and said the victim lived in Southeast, D.C., but police have not released further details on the incident. Another shooting near Congress Heights at roughly 12:15 a.m. left a man with several non-life threatening injuries. The assailant fired into the victim's car, hitting him several times. A group of men attacked a man on a bicycle at 1:05 p.m. in Columbia Heights and stabbed him in the arm before he could escape. The men asked the victim if he was an MS-13 gang member, according to a police report. Three other stabbings occurred across the city but authorities have not released information on the incidents, reports NBC Washington. More
New Drone Rules Expected to Generate Billions for U.S. Posted: 01 Sep 2016 03:30 PM PDT BALTIMORE (WJZ)—The long-awaited new rules allowing commercial use of drones is now in effect and could generate billions for the U.S. economy. In many lines of work they are used as the new tools of the trade. Drone use is rising and so is the controversy surrounding them, leading to new FAA regulations, specifically for the use of smaller commercial drones. "These aircraft truly have the potential to transform the way we fly," said Anthony Foxx, U.S. Transportation Secretary. Over the years, drones have been in spotlight for close calls at the White House and other air craft. More

Return to school means return to bullying for some, expert says Posted: 01 Sep 2016 02:30 PM PDT BALTIMORE —For some students, the summer break was more than just a break from school but a break from being bullied. "The kids who are bullying sometimes are the popular kids, which we don't necessarily think about that," Johns Hopkins Hospital psychology researcher Dr. Kathryn Van Eck said. Van Eck said that she routinely works with children on both sides of the issue. She said bullying can be physical, verbal or relational, and that last one can be toughest on teenagers. "That's when teens use relationships to kind of bully each other or be aggressive," Van Eck said. "They try to damage each others' reputation or try to leave each other out of relationships." And with so many children using social media apps, Van Eck said bullying can be a simple as posting the wrong picture. More
White House says it sees a path to approval of Pacific trade deal Posted: 01 Sep 2016 02:00 PM PDT WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Monday it could still win congressional approval of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact before President Barack Obama leaves office, and warned that failing to do so would undermine U.S. leadership in the region. "The president is going to make a strong case that we have made progress and there is a path for us to get this done before the president leaves office," White House spokesman Josh Earnest told a news briefing ahead of Obama's trip to Asia this week. Obama has made the 12-nation free trade deal the centerpiece of a diplomatic "pivot" to Asia, but the prospects for congressional approval have looked increasingly dim, with both major presidential candidates - Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump - standing opposed. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Thursday the Senate would not vote on the pact this year, punting it to the next president, who will take office in January. More

The Black Community Is Oppressed... Unless Trump Says So Posted: 01 Sep 2016 01:00 PM PDT Donald Trump is making a a pitch to the African American community, and the professional commentariat could not be more livid. "You're living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58 percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?" "You walk down the street, you get shot." Those are the highlights of Trump's pitch to black voters which hasn't gone down well with the pundits. The consensus among media elites and liberals is that it was at best tone-deaf. At worst a racist dog-whistle to white supremacists. More
Obama sets 2017 pay raise for civilian, military employees Posted: 01 Sep 2016 12:30 PM PDT President Barack Obama is exercising his authority to give federal civilian employees and uniformed service members a pay raise effective Jan. 1, 2017. Civilian employees will receive an across-the-board raise of 1 percent, with an additional 0.6 percent adjusted in locality pay. "I have determined that for 2017, across-the-board pay increases will be 1.0 percent," Obama wrote in an Aug. 31 letter to congressional leaders. "Also, I will make a decision by November 30, 2016, regarding an alternative plan for locality payments under 5 U.S.C. 5304a. The alternative plan for locality payments will be limited so that the total combined cost of the 1.0 percent across-the-board base pay increase and the varying locality pay increases will be 1.6 percent of basic payroll, consistent with the assumption in my 2017 budget. These decisions will not materially affect our ability to attract and retain a well-qualified federal workforce." More

George Soros' quiet overhaul of the U.S. justice system Posted: 01 Sep 2016 12:00 PM PDT Progressives have zeroed in on electing prosecutors as an avenue for criminal justice reform, and the billionaire financier is providing the cash to make it happen. While America's political kingmakers inject their millions into high-profile presidential and congressional contests, Democratic mega-donor George Soros has directed his wealth into an under-the-radar 2016 campaign to advance one of the progressive movement's core goals — reshaping the American justice system. The billionaire financier has channeled more than $3 million into seven local district-attorney campaigns in six states over the past year — a sum that exceeds the total spent on the 2016 presidential campaign by all but a handful of rival super-donors. Emails obtained by Fox News show how Abedin used her State Department email address to deal with issues relating to a Clinton Global Initiative event. In an email dated Sept. 16, 2009, Abedin was forwarded an email chain about how campaign donor Geri Shapiro first accepted an invitation to an event, but then declined when she discovered that her husband was not allowed to attend. Mainstream Media: Defeat Trump by Attacking His Supporters Posted: 01 Sep 2016 10:45 AM PDT It is no secret that the mainstream media has decided that the threat presented by a possible Donald Trump presidency is so grave that it has suspended even the illusion of objectivity. Writing in The New York Times, media columnist Jim Rutenberg granted permission to his fellow journalists "to throw out the textbook American journalism has been using for the better part of the past half-century, if not longer, and approach it in a way you've never approached anything in your career." The Observer and others have detailed the ways in which traditional media companies and even tech companies have colluded to maximize negative coverage of Trump and minimize negative coverage of his opponent, Hillary Clinton. But it doesn't end there. As Rutenberg described, many journalists feel the need to "move closer than you've ever been to being oppositional." That opposition has extended into new and uncharted territory. In the coordinated effort to stop a dangerous candidate from obtaining, to use Rutenberg's breathless description of the stakes, "control of the United States nuclear codes," the mainstream media has taken not just to bashing Trump but to extracting a price even from those who support him. There are a hundred examples, but here are just a few headlines that tell the story:
Town Mayor Charged with Misconduct and Related Offenses Posted: 01 Sep 2016 10:30 AM PDT State Prosecutor Emmet C. Davitt announced today that Deborah Rowe, Mayor and President of the Town of Marydel in Caroline County was indicted by a Caroline County grand jury with multiple counts of felony theft, one count of misconduct, one count of misappropriation by a fiduciary and two counts of forgery. The charges allege that, between March 28, 2012 and May 27, 2016, Deborah Rowe, the Mayor of the Town of Marydel used town funds for personal expenses. The total amount of the alleged thefts is just over $61,000.00. State Prosecutor Emmet C. Davitt stated: "The loss of $61,000.00 to a small town like Marydel is a major blow to the finances of the town. We will continue to vigorously pursue public officials who betray their public trust." Millions of bees dead after South Carolina sprays for Zika Posted: 01 Sep 2016 10:15 AM PDT On Sunday morning, the South Carolina honey bees began to die in massive numbers. Death came suddenly to Dorchester County, S.C. Stressed insects tried to flee their nests, only to surrender in little clumps at hive entrances. The dead worker bees littering the farms suggested that colony collapse disorder was not the culprit — in that odd phenomenon, workers vanish as though raptured, leaving a living queen and young bees behind. Instead, the dead heaps signaled the killer was less mysterious, but no less devastating. The pattern matched acute pesticide poisoning. By one estimate, at a single apiary — Flowertown Bee Farm and Supply, in Summerville — 46 hives died on the spot, totaling about 2.5 million bees. Walking through the farm, one Summerville woman wrote on Facebook, was "like visiting a cemetery, pure sadness." A Clemson University scientist collected soil samples from Flowertown on Tuesday, according to WCBD-TV, to further investigate the cause of death. But to the bee farmers, the reason is already clear. Their bees had been poisoned by Dorchester's own insecticide efforts, casualties in the war on disease-carrying mosquitoes. More
Clinton-tied firm blurs legal line, combining politics and investments, say experts Posted: 01 Sep 2016 10:00 AM PDT A high-powered firm with close ties to Bill and Hillary Clinton bills itself as a consultancy, but actually specializes in helping rich investors leverage inside political information, and is even registered as an investment bank, according to an investigation by FoxNews.com. Teneo Holdings, run by the former president's longtime aide, Douglas Band, and Irish businessman Declan Kelly, purports to sell intelligence about political risk to its clientele of corporate CEOs, billionaire families and leaders of foreign governments. Teneo has advertised access to Bill Clinton and political powerhouses to attract multinational clients since it opened five years ago. Teneo offers more than connections to political power and intelligence, however. It is registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as an investment bank. It brokers valuable securities that are not available to the public, exclusively to its own clients in a "private placement" market shielded from regulatory scrutiny. More
Residents furious over proposed hotel homeless shelter in NY Irish neighborhood Posted: 01 Sep 2016 09:53 AM PDT A proposal by the de Blasio administration to convert a Holiday Inn Express in Maspeth to a homeless shelter has caused outrage among many residents of the tight-knit Queens, NY community, many of whom are Irish and profoundly worried about the impact the plan would have on their way of life. At the start of August the administration revealed plans to house homeless families at the Holiday Inn Express on 55th Road in Maspeth, a highly visible building right off the Long Island Expressway within walking distance of residences, a park and local businesses. The facility could accommodate up to 220 homeless people in its 110 rooms, with the stipulation that no children under the age of 18 would be housed there. The city's Department of Homeless Services had targeted an October 1 opening for the shelter, but an agreement has not yet been finalized according to Maggie Hayes, a spokesperson for New York City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley who represents the area and is a staunch opponent of the plan. Colin Kaepernick Converted To Islam Before His Anti-American Stance. Coincidence? There are a ton of issues with his actions, but the leading factor that drove his position towards hating America came from one source: Islam. In short, here is Kaepernick's statements: I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder. Obama bans Confederate flag at cemeteries Posted: 01 Sep 2016 09:37 AM PDT Unilaterally imposes restrictions rejected by Congress (WASHINGTON TIMES) The Veterans Affairs Department quietly moved this month to ban flying of Confederate flags from fixed flagpoles at the cemeteries it runs, striking yet another blow against the controversial emblem. Congress had debated and rejected that change, but the Obama administration decided to move forward anyway, saying it was unilaterally imposing the restrictions. "In particular, we will amend our policy to make clear that Confederal flags will not be displayed from any permanently fixed flagpole in a national cemetery at any time," wrote Ronald E. Walters, under secretary for memorial affairs at the VA.
Posted: 01 Sep 2016 09:30 AM PDT Greenbelt, Maryland –Francisco Zamora-Flores, age 25, of Silver Spring, Maryland, pleaded guilty today to conspiracy to participate in a racketeering enterprise known as La Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, attempted murder in aid of racketeering, and using, carrying, and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. The guilty plea was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Andre R. Watson of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI); Chief Hank Stawinski of the Prince George's County Police Department; Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela D. Alsobrooks; and Chief Douglas Holland of the Hyattsville Police Department. MS-13 is a national and transnational gang composed primarily of immigrants or descendants from El Salvador. Branches or "cliques" of MS-13, one of the largest street gangs in the United States, operate throughout Prince George's County, Montgomery County, and Frederick County, Maryland. MS-13 members are required to commit acts of violence to maintain membership and discipline within the gang. One of the principal rules of MS-13 is that its members must attack and kill rivals, known as "chavalas," whenever possible. According to his plea agreement and court documents, from about 2014, Zamora-Flores was a member of the Normandie Clique of MS-13. MS-13 members committed crimes to further the interests of the gang, including murder, assault, robbery, extortion by threat of violence, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and witness retaliation. Zamora-Flores admitted that on July 30, 2014, he and four other members of MS-13 and the Normandie Clique were advised that three rival gang members had harassed and tried to steal the bike of a person who was a friend of MS-13. One of the co-conspirators drove Zamora-Flores and the other MS-13 members to the area of 30th Avenue in Hyattsville, where they saw three individuals walking north on the street. Zamora-Flores admitted that he and another MS-13 member shot two of the individuals. One victim was shot seven times, with wounds to his upper torso, right arm, and face. The other victim had a gunshot wound to his right side. Eleven .380 caliber shell casings fired from two different handguns were collected at the scene of the shooting. A firearms examiner determined that five of the shell casings were fired from the same gun used at other crime scenes including: murders that occurred on November 11, 2012 and February 28, 2013, in the Hyattsville area; an attempted murder that occurred on that on March 28, 2014, in Laurel, Maryland; and a murder that occurred on November 30, 2013 in Frederick, Maryland. The other six shell casings were fired from another .380 caliber firearm that was recovered in Montgomery County, Maryland, on October 5, 2014. Zamora-Flores faces a maximum sentence of life in prison for the racketeering conspiracy; a maximum of 10 years in prison for attempted murder in aid of racketeering; and a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, consecutive to any other sentence imposed, and up to life in prison for discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. U.S. District Judge Peter J. Messitte has scheduled sentencing for December 9, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended HSI Baltimore, the Prince George's County Police Department, Hyattsville Police Department, and Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office and its Strategic Investigations Unit, for their work in the investigation. Mr. Rosenstein also recognized the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office, Prince George's County Department of Corrections, and HSI Baltimore's Operation Community Shield Task Force for their assistance. Mr. Rosenstein thanked Assistant United States Attorneys William D. Moomau and Lindsay Eyler Kaplan, who are prosecuting this case.
Posted: 01 Sep 2016 09:23 AM PDT (Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today announced it submitted questions to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton concerning her email practices. Clinton's answers, under oath, are due on September 29. On August 19, U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan granted Judicial Watch further discovery on the Clinton email matter and ordered Clinton to answer the questions "by no later than thirty days thereafter…." Under federal court rules, Judicial Watch is limited to twenty-five questions. The questions are: Describe the creation of the clintonemail.com system, including who decided to create the system, the date it was decided to create the system, why it was created, who set it up, and when it became operational. Describe the creation of your clintonemail.com email account, including who decided to create it, when it was created, why it was created, and, if you did not set up the account yourself, who set it up for you. When did you decide to use a clintonemail.com email account to conduct official State Department business and whom did you consult in making this decision?
Posted: 01 Sep 2016 09:15 AM PDT The State Department says about 30 emails that may be related to the 2012 attack on U.S. compounds in Benghazi, Libya, are among the thousands of Hillary Clinton emails recovered during the FBI's recently closed investigation into her use of a private server. Government lawyers told U.S. District Court Judge Amit P. Mehta Tuesday that an undetermined number of the emails among the 30 were not included in the 55,000 pages previously provided by Clinton. The State Department's lawyer said it would need until the end of September to review the emails and redact potentially classified information before they are released. Donald Trump's campaign lashed out, asking what else might be lurking among the emails Clinton ordered deleted. More
Limbaugh warns NFL players they could ‘destroy’ own league Posted: 01 Sep 2016 09:07 AM PDT 'Business depends on massive public love and support and attention and money' PALM BEACH, Florida – As controversy continues over the refusal to stand for the national anthem by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, radio powerhouse Rush Limbaugh issued a stern warning to NFL players, saying they could destroy the league with their political views. "The American people are not going to sit by idly and watch the stage of the National Football League stolen and used for personal political purposes," Limbaugh said on his Tuesday broadcast. "You players in the NFL, you can go ahead and try to continue stealing the stage of the NFL if you want. You can take the example of Kaepernick and you can try to get some news coverage, you can draw attention to yourself, but you run the risk of obliterating the stage on which you perform that earns you your living and gives you the opportunity to succeed beyond your wildest dreams. "You better be careful in what and how you express your thoughts on this country, the greatest place in the history of mankind. And the residents of this country are among the luckiest in the history of all humanity. The National Football League is on TV. It can easily be turned off. The National Football League is sponsored by beer and cars and soft drinks that can easily be not purchased. Not that hard. Just turn it off." More
5 Percent Of Americans Would Vote For Harambe The Dead Gorilla As President Posted: 01 Sep 2016 09:00 AM PDT A recent poll found that five percent of Americans would vote for Harambe as president if he ran as an independent candidate in the 2016 election. Conducted by Public Policy Polling in late July, the poll asked 1,276 likely voters about their various political stances, including their opinions on Barack Obama, Tim Kaine, and Harambe — the infamous gorilla who was shot and killed by a zooworker in May. Question 10 asked, "If the candidates for President were Democrat Hillary Clinton, Republican Donald Trump, and independent Harambe, who would you vote for?" Forty eight percent of respondents said they would vote for Clinton, while 43 percent said they would vote for Trump. Four percent were conflicted by the daunting choice— they answered "not sure" — and the final five percent opted for Harambe the gorilla. More
9/11 conspiracy gets support from physicists’ study Posted: 01 Sep 2016 08:53 AM PDT Europhysics magazine report finds Twin Towers brought down by 'controlled demolition' WASHINGTON – For 15 years, there's been a small band of investigators who have questioned the idea that the Twin Towers in New York City collapsed because of the intense heat and fires raging following two terrorist-directed plane crashes. But they have largely been dismissed as crazy conspiracy theorists. Now, however, Europhysics Magazine, the respected publication of the European physics community, has published a report by four experts who say "the evidence points overwhelmingly to the conclusion that all three buildings were destroyed by controlled demolition." "Given the far-reaching implications, it is morally imperative that this hypothesis be the subject of a truly scientific and impartial investigation by responsible authorities," the four physicists conclude. Church of Scientology attempting to recruit in the Irish Gaeltacht Posted: 01 Sep 2016 08:45 AM PDT It appears the controversial Church of Scientology may be widening its recruitment in Ireland to people in the Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area) and other Irish-speakers throughout the country with attempts made by a sub-company of the church to translate their educational and information supplements into Irish. According to Tuairisc.ie, the subcompany – Golden Era Productions – recently wrote to a number of Irish translators looking for people qualified and interested in reproducing their programs in Irish. The company is not believed to have been forthcoming in informing those they contacted about their connection with Scientology, however. "In addition to the many languages we already provide we will also now be making our materials available in Gaelic and thus we are looking for qualified and interested translators," the company wrote. Black Lives Matter Blasts Dems Leaked Cheat Sheet to 'Placate' Activists Posted: 01 Sep 2016 08:37 AM PDT The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) found itself at the center of yet another controversy after a hacker leaked on Wednesday an internal party memo which advised candidates on how to handle situations when approached by the advocacy movement Black Lives Matter, as reported in The Washington Times. The memo urged candidates to listen, but "don't offer support for concrete policy positions;" limit the number of activists who meet with staff; and never say "all lives matter," reports the Times. The document, which was obtained and posted online on August 31 2016, by a mysterious hacker operating under the name Guccifer 2.0, was sent by Troy Perry, a former DCCC staffer, to the rest of the committee staff in November 2015. Mr. Perry, who now works for the Hillary Clinton campaign, had strictly mentioned that the document "should not be emailed or handed to anyone outside of the building," the Times reports. DCCC staffers, who were handed a "do's and don't's" cheat sheet, were also advised to offer limited invitations for meetings with Black Lives Matter activists, and not to "offer support for concrete policy positions" about the movement. Delaware gets federal grant to study mileage tax impact Posted: 01 Sep 2016 08:30 AM PDT DOVER — Delaware could soon replace its gasoline tax with a mileage-based levy in which motorists would pay varying amounts depending on how many miles they drive. The U.S. Department of Transportation said Tuesday that Delaware and four other states have been awarded $1.49 million in federal funds to study the impact of the new method of taxation to pay for infrastructure costs. The grant, received by the states as part of the I-95 Corridor Coalition, requires them to test 50 vehicles to examine how replacing the state gasoline tax with a user fee — determined by an annual assessment in which motorists are charged based directly on how many miles they drive — would work. "Finding sustainable revenue to replace stagnant fuel tax receipts is clearly a sensitive topic with the public," Delaware Department of Transportation Secretary and I-95 Corridor Coalition Chairperson Jennifer Cohan said in a statement. "That makes this project a fantastic opportunity to foster dialogue about how our transportation system is funded, the need for a reliable revenue source and how citizens benefit from the mobility our region provides." At least 5 felons among Clinton Foundation donors Posted: 01 Sep 2016 08:23 AM PDT Another list emerges from family-charity scandal NEW YORK – A list that has been largely ignored by establishment media is the remarkable number of foreign millionaire and billionaire donors to the Clinton Foundation who have been convicted of crimes. At least five individuals are on the list, including several the Clintons treated as international celebrities at various Clinton Global Initiative annual meetings, even after their criminal convictions. Some have been convicted of crimes in the United States and are currently serving sentences in federal prisons. It raises the question of whether or not Hillary Clinton, should she be elected president, would pardon the donors. Or, would President Obama pardon them before he leaves office to spare Clinton the embarrassment? More
Social Security Paid Dead Government Workers $1.7 Million Posted: 01 Sep 2016 08:15 AM PDT The Social Security Administration has paid dead federal workers $1.7 million in recent years, with the deceased receiving benefits an average of seven years after their death, according to an agency watchdog. An audit released by the agency's inspector general Monday revealed that the Social Security Administration had not crosschecked beneficiaries' deaths with the Office of Personnel Management, which manages federal employees. Missing just 35 deaths cost taxpayers $1.7 million. "OPM's annuitant file contained deaths that were not recorded in SSA's systems," the inspector general said. "SSA paid $1.7 million in [Old-Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance] OASDI benefits to 35 deceased beneficiaries. The average payment after death was $49,156 for an average of 84 months." A president was born on Wednesday Posted: 01 Sep 2016 07:53 AM PDT America, we were introduced to our next president on Wednesday night. He's not a politician. He is one of a kind. He is an American. Welcome President Donald J. Trump. I'm a cynical Jewish Ivy Leaguer from New York. Nothing gets me too excited. I don't believe politicians. Nor do I believe in politicians. I don't fall for theatrical political productions. I don't believe rhetoric or propaganda. And I've never teared up over a political speech in my life. Until now. . . Wednesday night I found myself fist-pumping. I found myself chanting along with the crowd "USA, USA, USA." And as the procession of mothers and fathers came up to the podium to state the name of their child -- who was murdered by illegal immigrants -- and then say "I'm voting for Trump" or "Trump is our last chance to save America" I found myself tearing up. And the amazing thing is… I couldn't stop. The tears rolled down my face. This speech in Arizona was the game-changer. Not just the speech, but the entire day. Trump accepted the invitation to meet with the President of Mexico. He showed he's a man of action by flying to Mexico on a moment's notice. Trump stood next to Mexico's president -- looking to all the world like President Donald J. Trump. Trump stated his case and never gave an inch to the president of Mexico. Trump turned a vision -- that was mocked and ripped to shreds for a year now -- into a reality. Who now believes that if Trump is elected a wall won't be built? As a conservative, I've waited a lifetime for this speech. Why? Because it was a speech that didn't back down by even one inch. It was a speech aimed at Americans, for Americans, delivered by a proud American, who values American exceptionalism. More here
C J: I’m a Young Black Man and I Support Donald Trump Posted: 01 Sep 2016 07:45 AM PDT In the past 15 months, I have found myself supporting four different candidates for President: Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Bernie Sanders and now billionaire businessman and Republican Party nominee, Donald Trump. As a 14-year-old, I may not be able to vote in this election, but I am deeply invested in its outcome. Some have ridiculed me for supporting various candidates across the ideological spectrum. In a condescending blog post last December, conservative radio host Erick Erickson accused me of desperately seeking attention, questioned my intellectual capacity and instructed me to "shut up, and go live life." This reaction makes one thing clear: many people in the "old guard" do not have the slightest understanding of the political philosophies of my generation. While the past eight years may feel distant to some, the wounds—full of devastation and pain—inflicted by President Obama's agenda remain fresh. As a young black male, I've seen my community flailing and struggling due to the disastrous impacts of the Obama political agenda, and I refuse to allow the possibility of a Clinton presidency to extend that suffering. After eight years of promises of hope and change, 2 out of 5 black boys and girls live in poverty. Bill Clinton used tax dollars to subsidize foundation, private email support Posted: 01 Sep 2016 07:37 AM PDT Program for ex-presidents paid salaries and benefits to Clinton aides at the center of controversies. Bill Clinton's staff used a decades-old federal government program, originally created to keep former presidents out of the poorhouse, to subsidize his family's foundation and an associated business, and to support his wife's private email server, a POLITICO investigation has found. Taxpayer cash was used to buy IT equipment — including servers — housed at the Clinton Foundation, and also to supplement the pay and benefits of several aides now at the center of the email and cash-for-access scandals dogging Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. Trump Vows to Remove Millions Living In Country Illegally Posted: 01 Sep 2016 07:30 AM PDT PHOENIX (AP) — Seeking to end confusion over his aggressive but recently muddled language on immigration, Donald Trump vowed Wednesday to remove millions of people living in the country illegally if he becomes president, warning that failure to do so would jeopardize the "well-being of the American people." But Trump didn't address what he would do about millions more who might remain under his approach — the major question that has frustrated past congressional attempts at remaking the nation's immigration laws. Instead, Trump repeated the standard Republican talking point that only after securing the border can such a discussion begin to take place. It was a retreat in the rhetoric for the billionaire from the GOP primaries, when he had vowed his "deportation force" would seek to remove all who didn't have permission to live and work in the country. Memo Reveals Soros Plan for Federally Controlled Police Posted: 01 Sep 2016 07:15 AM PDT A leaked document from George Soros's Open Society Foundations exposes the billionaire's level of involvement in attempting to build what his organization describes as a "national movement" to reform local police forces across the U.S. The reform largely consists of federal guidelines for local police forces. The document identifies an opportunity in the police killings of African-American men in Ferguson, Staten Island, North Charleston, and Baltimore. It relates that the U.S. contingent of Open Society held a planning meeting titled, "Police Reform: How to Take Advantage of the Crisis of the Moment and Drive Long-Term Institutional Change in Police-Community Practice." The extensive memo further documents that Soros-financed groups and personalities influenced President Obama's Task Force on 21st Century Policing, which last May released a final report consisting of 60 recommendations providing guidance to localities on how to modify policing practices. The information was contained in a 59-page report on an Open Society Foundations' U.S. Programs board meeting in New York from May 7-9 of last year. The document states that the Foundations' U.S. Programs (USP) was seeking to use "this moment" – meaning the so-called 'crisis in policing' following high profile shootings and charges of racism – to "create a national movement" for police reform. Bill Clinton: Rebuild Detroit with Syrian Refugees Posted: 01 Sep 2016 07:00 AM PDT In a little-noticed video from February at the Clinton Global Initiative, former President Bill Clinton suggested that the U.S. use Syrian refugees to rebuild Detroit. "The truth is that the big loser in this over the long run is going to be Syria. This is an enormous opportunity for Americans," Bill Clinton said about the Syrian migrant crisis. "Detroit has 10,000 empty, structurally sound houses—10,000. And lot of jobs to be had repairing those houses. Detroit just came out of bankruptcy and the mayor's trying to do an innovative sort of urban homesteading program there. But it just gives you an example of what could be done. And I think any of us who have ever had any personal experience with either Syrian Americans or Syrian refugees think it's a pretty good deal.." It is unclear from the video why Clinton seems to think it would be better to fill these Detroit jobs with imported foreign migrants rather than unemployed Americans already living there, who could perhaps benefit from good-paying jobs. FBI Chief Responds to Concern Over Cyber Threats to US Election System Posted: 01 Sep 2016 06:45 AM PDT The FBI has responded to recent concerns about U.S. voting systems' being targeted for cyberattacks as the presidential elections approach, saying it takes the threat "very, very seriously" and is working to "equip the rest of our government with options." "We take very seriously any effort by any actor," he said, "to influence the conduct of affairs in our country, whether that's an election or something else." His comments come one day after news surfaced about FBI warnings to the states that hackers had infiltrated one state board of election and targeted another. Hillary Clinton to explain to court who 'recommended' secret email account Posted: 01 Sep 2016 06:37 AM PDT Hillary Clinton will get a chance to explain why she continued to use her secret home email account for government business in defiance of repeated security warnings from her underlings — just some of the 25 questions she'll have to answer, in writing and under oath, to a federal court. Judicial Watch, a conservative public interest law firm, submitted the 25 questions to Mrs. Clinton Tuesday, and she now has a month to respond under the procedure set by Judge Emmet G. Sullivan. Among the questions are who "recommended" that she use a secret email account in the first place, whether she ever told the officials responsible for archiving records that she had the secret account, and what steps she took after attempts to hack her account. Posted: 01 Sep 2016 06:23 AM PDT Last week we noted Trey Gowdy's interview on Fox News where he divulged that Clinton had used a software called "BleachBit" to permanently delete emails in a way to "prevent their recovery" and "hide traces" of their deletion (see "FBI Admits Clinton Used Software Designed To "Prevent Recovery" And "Hide Traces Of" Deleted Emails"). What got less attention in that post, however, was Gowdy's question of whether Clinton considered email correspondence with the Clinton Foundation and its donors to be "work related" or "personal". There is increasing evidence that Clinton Foundation related email traffic was specifically omitted from disclosures to the FBI. Recent emails received under various FOIA requests have uncovered numerous Clinton emails, related to the Clinton Foundation, that were "mysteriously" absent from the "30,000 work-related emails" that were previously turned over to the FBI. That omission obviously begs the question of how Hillary could possibly consider correspondence with the Clinton Foundation and/or its donors to be "personal". Certainly Meredith McGehee, policy director at the Campaign Legal Center, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, thinks "It would be a difficult argument" for Clinton to suggest that Clinton Foundation emails were "personal." The latest example comes from McClatchy DC and involves another email exchange between then Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, and a large Clinton Foundation donor, Abigail Disney, who was looking for a favor. The email exchange in question was revealed by Citizens United and was among the emails received after winning a lawsuit related to their previously unanswered FOIA request. Oddly enough, this email exchange, and many others like it, were excluded from the "30,000 work-related emails" that Clinton originally disclosed to the FBI. Turns out Disney, a Clinton Foundation donor to the tune of $100,000 - $250,000, wanted Hillary to focus more on women's issues at the next meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative. But Disney didn't go to the Clinton Foundation for help with her request she went straight to the Secretary of State. Per McClatchy DC, Disney's July 2012 email to Hillary included the following: More
Feds Give Millions To Liberal Activists With Bank Slush Fund Posted: 01 Sep 2016 06:15 AM PDT The Obama administration has quietly funneled millions (and potentially billions) of dollars to leftist organizations and politicians that promote liberal policies and win political elections at the entry-level of government, according to the Wall Street Journal. The funneling mechanism for these funds is the Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities Working Group (RMBS), a collaborative effort by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice (including many United States Attorneys Offices), the New York State Attorney General's Office, and many others. The RMBS was created in 2012 following the mortgage-backed securities scandal that ultimately led to the Great Recession. The group is focused on finding "evidence of false or misleading statements, deception, or other misconduct by market participants (such as loan originators, sponsors, underwriters, trustees, and others) in the creation, packaging, and sale of mortgage-backed securities." Hillary cartoonist fires back at racism claim Posted: 01 Sep 2016 06:00 AM PDT 'Gotta be pretty slow news day out there ... that they would try and twist it' WASHINGTON – In yet another attempt by the mainstream media to connect Donald J. Trump to "racism," the Washington Post has attacked a political cartoon published back in April by WND cartoonist Tony "A.F." Branco. The April 2016 cartoon in question depicts, as Branco told WND.com in an exclusive interview, "Hillary Clinton pandering to the black community for their votes." In the cartoon, Hillary Clinton is in blackface, holding a sign reading "#@!* the Police," wearing a shirt saying "No Hot Sauce, No Peace!" and with the caption, "I ain't no ways tired of pandering to African-Americans." "It should be fairly obvious what I was doing there, with Hillary giving a speech in front of an African-American group back April about always having hot sauce in her purse and she is holding up a 'F— the Police' sign in solidarity with Black Lives Matter," Branco said. Local Elected Officials Are Full Of Chicken Sh!t Posted: 01 Sep 2016 03:10 AM PDT If you wanted to open a Bar but you seem to be somewhat close to a Church, did you know you have to be 500 feet or more away from their front door to your front door? That's a fact. However, when it comes to chicken houses, currently you only have to be 100 feet away from any property line. After almost ten months of deliberation, meetings and public discussions, (get this) they've been able to expand that distance from 100 feet to 400 feet, WOW! Now here's the most interesting part you're not hearing from your so called Main Stream Media. Did you know that not one Town representative has been to ANY of the meetings regarding the BIGGEST industry on the entire Eastern Shore! Yeah, there are a ton of people out there screaming at the County Executive as well as County Council Members but you know what, it's NOT their fault. You see, YOU elect local Mayors, Town Managers and sorts to REPRESENT YOU and your community/municipality. If you happen to own a piece of land that sits next to a large parcel of land and someone buys it to open up chicken houses, well, they'll be 400 feet away from you with a landscaping buffer to separate the two properties, WOW! Now you people understand this. Not one of your Town Representatives showed up to these public meetings and there's been a lot of them. I've talked to some of the County Council Members about this issues and they agree, the newly proposed legislation they'll be voting on next Tuesday is not perfect but it will stop any new applicants from getting away with what was on the books in the past and they can tweak things as time goes on. When you elect a Mayor or Town Manager, know what the heck you are doing. STOP voting for lazy chicken sh!t people who don't take their position seriously because in this case every single one of them in Wicomico County failed you 100%. Every meeting on this matter should have been packed with your town representatives.
Posted: 01 Sep 2016 05:30 AM PDT The debacle that is U.S. Syria policy is today on naked display. NATO ally Turkey and U.S.-backed Arab rebels this weekend attacked our most effective allies against ISIS, the Syrian Kurds. Earlier in August, U.S. planes threatened to shoot down Syrian planes over Hasakeh, and our Iraq-Syria war commander, Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend, issued a warning to Syria and Russia against any further air strikes around the city. Who authorized Gen. Townsend to threaten to shoot down Syrian or Russian planes — in Syria? When did Congress authorize an American war in Syria? Is the Constitution now inoperative? That we are sinking into a civil war where we sometimes seem to be fighting both sides is a tribute to the fecklessness of the Barack Obama-John Kerry foreign policy and the abdication of a Congress that refuses to either name our real enemy or authorize our deepening involvement. Our Congress appears again to have abdicated its war powers. More
Obama Wants to 'Ramp Up' Commitment to Admitting Syrian Refugees Posted: 01 Sep 2016 05:00 AM PDT President Obama is "gratified" that his administration has succeeded in meeting its goal of admitting 10,000 Syrian refugees to the United States this fiscal year, and he "certainly would like to see the United States continue to ramp up our commitment," spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters on Monday. As CNSNews.com reported on Monday, 10,126 Syrian refugees have been admitted to the United States for Fiscal 2016, of whom 52 -- or 0.51 percent -- are Christians; and 9,945 -- or 98.2 -- percent, are Sunni Muslims. "And the truth is that this administration did succeed in meeting this goal, a significant ramping up of the number of Syrian refugees to the United States. And we're able to do all of that without cutting any corners when it comes to security," Earnest said. Earnest said the president would like to see the United States "continue to expand our ambition" when it comes to responding to Syria's humanitarian crisis. He noted that the U.S. already has provided more humanitarian assistance than any other country. More

Clinton emailed classified info after leaving State Department Posted: 01 Sep 2016 04:30 AM PDT Hillary Clinton emailed classified information using her private email address months after leaving the State Department, according to a published report. The Democratic nominee discussed with a group of diplomats and former staff members a deal between the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates in a May 2013 email that was obtained by the Republican National Committee through the Freedom of Information Act. However, the contents of the email were redacted and are not slated for declassification until 2033. The news comes as Clinton faces fresh questions about her email server as the State Department prepares to release dozens of deleted records related to Benghazi. More
Students in two Frederick County schools claim dress code promotes shame among girls Posted: 01 Sep 2016 04:15 AM PDT On Wednesday morning, as a dozen Urbana Middle School eighth-graders prepared to enter school, most wore baggy yellow T-shirts that read in marker: "I am more than just a distraction." They were among students in two Frederick County Public Schools who claim their respective schools' dress codes unfairly target girls and promote a culture of shaming them. School district administration said the dress codes, which individual principals have wide latitude to determine in their respective schools, are in place to ensure a safe, nurturing learning environment, free of distractions. Urbana Middle welcomed a new principal this year, Peter Daddone from Montgomery County Public Schools. Girls at the school, interviewed on Wednesday, said Daddone has taken an authoritarian approach with enforcing the dress code, making them wear ill-fitting yellow T-shirts to cover up dress code violations. WH May Designate Some State Voting Systems As 'Pieces of Critical Infrastructure' Posted: 01 Sep 2016 04:00 AM PDT (CNSNews.com) - The Obama White House may designate certain state voting systems as "pieces of critical infrastructure," which would give federal technology experts "more of a role in assisting the administrators of those networks as they deter intrusions," White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters on Monday. "That's something that's being discussed by senior members of the president's National Security team," Earnest added. "We certainly will continue to work in coordination with state and local officials, even short of that (critical infrastructure) designation to offer them advice and assistance, at their request, to ensure that they are protecting their systems," Earnest said on Monday. "And I know that this is something that the Department of Homeland Security is taking the lead on." More
Guccifer documents: Dems dismiss Benghazi as a 'conspiracy' Posted: 01 Sep 2016 03:30 AM PDT Questions surrounding the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi should be dismissed by Democrats as a "conservative conspiracy theory," according to a file leaked from the party's House leader. "While mistakes have been identified, no great scandal or wrongdoing has been uncovered," stated the memo purportedly taken from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's personal computer. It added that Democrats should use the deaths of the four Americans who died in Benghazi to deflect attention from those mistakes, and call for people to move on. "Benghazi is a tragedy, not a scandal," the memo stated in one section devoted to talking points. "Reports ordered by the Republican-led Congress have repeatedly debunked conspiracy theories of criminal negligence or cover-ups. We must learn from what happened and do better, but those still calling for a witch hunt years later, despite the evidence, have clear self-serving political motivations." More
How to Rebuild U.S. Military Might Posted: 01 Sep 2016 03:00 AM PDT In order to rebuild the U.S. military the next president is going to have to do the following things with the economy. The next administration must design a growth plan that will allow the U.S. economy to expand at a 3 percent to 6 percent rate per year. Only Donald Trump's plan has the opportunity to do this. It can be accomplished by the following these important actions: • We must become energy independent within three years, and that should include Mexico and Canada. Energy independence creates the economic environment that can grow millions of jobs over the four-year period. A President Trump will take the handcuffs off our energy resources. • Obamacare must be terminated immediately as it has already become a sinkhole for federal funds and increased costs of medical care in the country. • The nearly $2 trillion that U.S. corporations hold in overseas banks should be granted a one-year tax holiday if they bring them back and invest in U.S. companies with modernized plants and production. This fiscal stimulus will have a huge job creation effect and the 93 million Americans without full-time jobs will be back in the work force again. More here
Trump weighs meeting in Mexico with the country’s president Posted: 01 Sep 2016 02:00 AM PDT Donald Trump will travel to Mexico City on Wednesday for a meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, just hours before he delivers a high-stakes speech in Arizona to clarify his views on immigration policy. Peña Nieto last Friday invited both Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to visit Mexico, his office said in a statement provided to The Washington Post on Tuesday night. Trump, sensing an opportunity, decided over the weekend to accept the invitation and push for a visit this week, according to the people in the United States and Mexico familiar with the discussions. Late Tuesday, Trump and the Mexican president confirmed on Twitter that they will meet Wednesday. "I have accepted the invitation of President Enrique Pena Nieto, of Mexico, and look very much forward to meeting him tomorrow," Trump wrote Tuesday night. Shortly after, Peña Nieto's office wrote that "El Señor" Donald Trump has accepted the invitation and will meet Wednesday privately with Peña Nieto. More
White House says hackers won’t change outcome of presidential election Posted: 01 Sep 2016 01:00 AM PDT The White House said Tuesday that foreign hacking into U.S. voter databases won't affect the outcome of the presidential election, while House Democrats asked the FBI to investigate a possible connection between Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and suspected hacks by the Russian government. White House press secretary Josh Earnest said the U.S. election system, with more than 9,000 state, county and local jurisdictions counting ballots, is too fragmented to be vulnerable to a cyberattack that could change the course of history. "I think people can have a lot of confidence in the election system, in part because it's not centralized," Mr. Earnest said. More
Homeland eyes special declaration to take charge of elections Posted: 01 Sep 2016 12:00 AM PDT Even before the FBI identified new cyber attacks on two separate state election boards, the Department of Homeland Security began considering declaring the election a "critical infrastructure," giving it the same control over security it has over Wall Street and and the electric power grid. The latest admissions of attacks could speed up that effort possibly including the upcoming presidential election, according to officials. "We should carefully consider whether our election system, our election process, is critical infrastructure like the financial sector, like the power grid," Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said. "There's a vital national interest in our election process, so I do think we need to consider whether it should be considered by my department and others critical infrastructure," he said at media conference earlier this month hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. Mexico issues transit visas to surge of African migrants Posted: 31 Aug 2016 11:00 PM PDT MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican immigration authorities say 424 migrants from African countries arrived at the southern state of Chiapas over two days last week. The National Immigration Institute said Tuesday that it has issued them 20-day transit visas that will allow the migrants to reach the U.S.-Mexico border, where they plan to request asylum. Officials call it an unusual surge and say most of the migrants first went to Brazil or Ecuador to start their journey through Latin America. More |
