Wal-Mart to Cut 7,000 Back-Office Store Jobs

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 08:30 PM PDT

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to cut thousands of back-office positions around the country, a sign that the retailer's effort to make its cavernous stores more efficient is also changing the face of its workforce.

The largest private employer in the U.S. is eliminating about 7,000 store accounting and invoicing positions over the next several months. The jobs are mostly held by long-term employees, often some of the highest paid hourly workers in stores. The retailer wants those employees working with shoppers, not in backrooms, say company executives. Centralizing or automating most of their current tasks is more efficient, they say.

The jobs are coveted as a rare desk job in retail. "You are not running around the store on your feet all day" and receive decent pay, said a Wal-Mart store accounting employee who earns about $13 an hour, or $27,000 a year. "Everybody wants to get in there. The jobs never open up," said this person, who has worked at the store for nine years.

Bossie stepped down as president of the conservative activist group earlier this week, his team confirmed Thursday afternoon.

First Broom Handle, Then Knife Threat

OCEAN CITY — An Ocean City man was arrested on assault and other charges last week after first hitting another man with a broom handle and then threatening him with a knife during an altercation that allegedly began when the victim refused to sell the suspect his beer.

Around 2:30 a.m. last Thursday, Ocean City police responded to an apartment complex near 15th Street for a reported altercation involving a knife threat. According to police reports, the victim and other individuals were sitting at a picnic table near a canal in a common area of the apartment complex when they were approached by a suspect later identified as Nemanja Rosic, 23, of Ocean City.

Rosic approached the group and demanded the victim sell him his beer, a demand the victim refused. According to witnesses, Rosic then became irate and went to a second-floor apartment and began throwing beer containers at the victim, who was still at the picnic table with friends. The victim then went into a nearby apartment to get away from Rosic, but Rosic allegedly grabbed a broom and followed the victim into the apartment and began striking him with the broom handle.

According to police reports, the victim was able to grab a mop and defend himself from Rosic's attack with the broom before a full-scale altercation broke out between the two. After a brief fight, Rosic left the apartment and the victim locked the door. According to police reports, Rosic then entered another ground-floor apartment and emerged with a kitchen knife.

Georgetown to Give Slave Descendants Priority for Admission

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 07:00 PM PDT

WASHINGTON — Georgetown University will give preference in admissions to the descendants of slaves owned by the Maryland Jesuits as part of its effort to atone for profiting from the sale of enslaved people.

Georgetown president John DeGioia told news outlets that the university in Washington will implement the admissions preferences. He says Georgetown will need to identify and reach out to descendants of slaves and recruit them to the university.

On Thursday morning, a university committee released a report that also called on its leaders to offer a formal apology for the university's participation in the slave trade.

In 1838, two priests who served as president of the university orchestrated the sale of 272 people to pay off debts at the school. The slaves were sent from Maryland to plantations in Louisiana.

The university says it will give descendants of those slaves "the same consideration we give members of the Georgetown community" when they apply.

Georgetown President John DeGioia penned a letter to students and facultyThursday, writing, "I believe the most appropriate ways for us to redress the participation of our predecessors in the institution of slavery is to address the manifestations of the legacy of slavery in our time."

See the university's report below.

Hacked Pelosi Memo: Obama Helped Create ISIS

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 06:00 PM PDT

Obama's withdrawal of forces from Iraq exacerbated ISIS recruitment

Memos obtained by hacker Guccifer 2.0 from former House minority leader Nancy Pelosi's computer appear to suggest Obama administration policies did indeed lead to the rise of ISIS, as pointed out by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

"In short: Our [2003] invasion created the atmosphere for a Jordanian to start a Muslim sectarian war, which ultimately created ISIS," the October 2014 memo from Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee policy director Mike Ryan states.

The leaked memo reveals the state of affairs "worsened after U.S. troops left Iraq, helping quickly deteriorate the situation further" and give way to the rise of ISIS.

State fines Md. liquor chain for selling below minimum price

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 05:30 PM PDT

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection is fining a Maryland-based liquor store chain $37,500 for violating state law on minimum pricing of alcohol.

The chain, Total Wine & More, currently is suing the state in federal court, challenging the decades-old law that prohibits retailers from selling wine and liquor below a minimum price.

The Connecticut Package Store Association recently filed a formal complaint, accusing Total Wine & More of already selling below the minimum price. The association has successfully fended up numerous legislative attempts to scrap the law.

Trump took to Twitter to praise the hospitality of the Mexican people, and couldn't resist taking a swipe at 'Hiding Hillary' for not making a similar trip, or even visiting troubled Louisiana, as he did last week.

Justice Department Partners with Mexico to Combat Employment Discrimination

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 04:30 PM PDT

The Justice Department and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States established a formal partnership today to protect workers from discrimination based on citizenship, immigration status and national origin. Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Vanita Gupta, head of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, and Mexican Ambassador Carlos Sada signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the embassy and its consulates, and the division's Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices (OSC).

As part of the MOU, OSC and the Mexican government will collaborate to educate workers about their employment rights and provide them with the resources needed to protect those rights. The MOU also seeks to promote training for employers on their obligations under the anti-discrimination provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), which prohibits employment discrimination based on citizenship, immigration status and national origin. Specifically, the MOU provides that:

  • OSC will train Mexican consular staff on the anti-discrimination provision of the INA, participate in events organized by Mexican consulates to educate workers and employers and distribute educational materials to the embassy and its consulates.
  • The embassy will establish a system for referring discrimination claims from the embassy and consulates to OSC.

"The Mexican government plays a vital role in helping the Justice Department ensure workers know about their rights and the protections the law provides," said Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Gupta. "Mexico has taken a leading role in Labor Rights Week, ensuring that workers in Mexico and throughout the world know about their rights in the workplace and where to access help and support. I thank our Mexican counterparts for their collaborative partnership in our shared mission to empower workers and combat discrimination."

In the last year, the department has also established formal partnerships with Ecuador and El Salvador to empower and educate work-authorized individuals from those nations.

OSC is responsible for enforcing the anti-discrimination provision of the INA. Among other things, this law prohibits citizenship, immigration status and national origin discrimination in hiring, firing or recruitment or referral for a fee; discrimination in the employment eligibility verification process; retaliation and intimidation. In addition to its enforcement work, OSC educates the public on its rights and responsibilities under the INA's anti-discrimination provision.

For more information about protections against employment discrimination under immigration laws, call OSC's worker hotline at 1-800-255-7688 (1-800-237-2515, TTY for hearing impaired); call OSC's employer hotline at 1-800-255-8155 (1-800-237-2515, TTY for hearing impaired); sign up for a free webinar; email osccrt@usdoj.gov

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today signed an Executive Order declaring a state of emergency in Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico, Worcester, Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary's Counties beginning Friday, September 2 in anticipation of heavy rains, strong winds, and potential flooding associated with Tropical Storm Hermine. Like A Boss – Donald Trump Delivered Stunningly Impressive “America First” Remarks in Mexico…

….and that's just what he did publicly.

Officer who shot Maryland woman involved in prior shooting

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 03:30 PM PDT

TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Police in Baltimore County, Maryland, say an officer who fatally shot a woman after an hours-long standoff was also involved in a shooting in 2007.

In a statement Thursday, the department identified the officer only by his last name, Ruby. The officer has been with the department for 16 years. Police Chief Jim Johnson had previously declined to identify the officer who shot 23-year-old Korryn Gaines, citing threats against the department.

Gaines, who was black, was killed on Aug. 1 after she pointed a shotgun at officers trying to serve an arrest warrant in Randallstown, a Baltimore suburb. Her 5-year-old son was with her and was injured. Her death led to protests affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Baltimore police spokeswoman Elise Armacost said that in 2007, Ruby was one of two officers who shot and killed 24-year-old Adam Benjamin Rothstein after he pointed what turned out to be a pellet gun at the officers. Armacost said officers received a call on Aug. 19 for a suicidal man who'd told the 911 dispatcher that he had guns, knives, pepper spray and a Taser.

Foundation Donors Lobbied Huma For Diplomatic Passports

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 03:00 PM PDT

New emails released by Judicial Watch in connection with its probe of the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation indicate Clinton Foundation donors lobbied senior Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin for diplomatic passports.

Abedin responded positively to the donor inquiries, according to the email.

The donors in question include Doug Band and Justin Cooper. The email indicates that Band reached out to Abedin in 2009, when she served as deputy chief of staff at the U.S. Department of State, and asked for her help in obtaining diplomatic passports for him, Cooper, and a third individual identified only by their initials.

"We had them years ago but they lapsed and we didn't bother getting them," Band wrote.

Maryland State Police Prepare for High Traffic Volume This Labor Day Weekend

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 03:00 PM PDT

The Maryland State Police are anticipating higher traffic volume and warning drivers they can expect enforcement of speed, occupant restraint and most importantly DUI laws this Labor Day weekend.

As summer ends and Labor Day weekend approaches, many celebrants will be celebrating with friends and family. In efforts to increase safety the State Police Impaired Driving Reduction Effort team and troopers statewide will be out in force focusing efforts on impaired, distracted, and aggressive drivers. This effort is intended to reduce traffic crashes and the resulting injuries and deaths on Maryland roads. The Maryland State Police remind drivers all year, but especially during our extend holiday weekends, that drinking alcohol and driving is never a good choice.

"Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" is a high visibility enforcement campaign, which runs from August 19 to September 5, 2016. During this period Maryland State Police and local law enforcement will be working together to save lives and will have zero tolerance for drunk driving.

Operation SHOWBOAT will be underway this Labor Day weekend, focusing on aggressive driving, crash reduction, and impaired driving. Operation SHOWBOAT will concentrate its efforts on U.S. Route 50 from Anne Arundel County to Ocean City and U.S. Route 13 in Wicomico, Somerset, and Worcester counties. In addition state police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and increased patrols.

As Maryland State Troopers continue to support the Maryland Department of Transportation's campaign "Toward Zero Deaths," motorists need to be aware of the dangers of alcohol. Alcohol takes effect quickly and wears off slowly. It tends to reduce one's control, judgment, and coordination. In addition, perceptual abilities, speech and speed of reflexes can be impaired.

Impaired drivers can face jail time, lose their driver's licenses, incur higher insurance rates, and dozens of other expenses ranging from attorney fees, court costs, car towing and repairs, to lost wages due to time off from work. Even worse, a drunk driver can claim someone's life, or even their own.

Please follow these tips to keep Maryland roads safe this Labor Day Weekend:
  • Have a plan before you drink any alcoholic beverages. One drink can impair your judgment and increase the risk of getting arrested for driving drunk.
  • Designate a driver.
  • Be attentive while traveling this holiday.
  • Ensure everyone is secured by a seatbelt.
  • Call 911 to report drunk drivers.

It will be a one-hour forum where Clinton and Trump will answer questions about national security, military affairs and veterans issues in front of an audience mainly made up of members of the military. State Highway sets stormwater crossing schedule

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 02:30 PM PDT

With the first of four stormwater drainpipe replacements finally in the books, the State Highway Administration has released the preliminary schedule for two of three other crossings that will require lane closures overnight on Route 113.

According to SHA liaison Bob Rager, these crossings are just the beginning of this kind of work on the road as the decades-old dualization project proceeds towards the final phase, with roadwork estimated to be completed by spring 2019.

There is another phase to the road dualization to install an overpass at the junction of Route 113 and Snow Hill Road. No date has been given for the completion of this phase.

The road was closed and detoured earlier this week to complete the second crossing. Road crews installed a 42-inch pipe as a replacement for the existing one.

"We're allowing crews two nights to work up to the edge of roadway and get everything in place so the actual closure night runs smoothly," Rager said. "This worked well last week with the first one."

Emails Show New Pay-For-Play At Clinton Foundation

Newly released emails show that a Clinton Foundation adviser asked one of Hillary Clinton's top State Department aides to provide "'air' support" for a Clinton Foundation donor who sought to set up a meeting with the U.S. ambassador to Panama to help with a legal dispute.

Emails released on Thursday by Judicial Watch show that Clinton Foundation adviser Doug Band forwarded an email to Hillary Clinton deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin from Christopher Ruddy, the CEO of Newsmax, a conservative online publication.

Despite his ideological bent, Ruddy has been a supporter of the Clintons. Through Newsmax, he has donated between $1 million and $5 million to the Clinton Foundation, the organization's website shows.

Tropical Storm Hermine Likely to Bring Rain and Wind to Maryland This Weekend

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 01:38 PM PDT

MEMA is Monitoring the Storm and Making Preparations

REISTERSTOWN, Md. (September 2, 2016) —
Tropical Storm Hermine could bring significant rainfall and wind to portions of Maryland beginning Saturday morning, making for a potentially hazardous Labor Day weekend. The Storm, which is currently located over Florida, is moving north-northeast and is forecast to be located off the Eastern Shore of Maryland by Saturday. Rain, wind and localized flooding may continue throughout the weekend and into early next week.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued tropical storm warnings for St. Mary's, Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties. In addition to tropical storm force rain and wind, these areas could experience tidal and coastal flooding.

"Marylanders need to monitor trusted weather sources, such as the NWS weather forecast offices and local news stations, in order to stay updated on this tropical system and associated rain," said Russ Strickland, executive director of MEMA. "Residents and visitors to the Eastern Shore should pay extra attention—tropical storm tracks can change quickly and unexpectedly."

Those in potentially affected areas should be familiar with evacuation routes, have a communications plan, keep a battery-powered radio handy and have a plan for pets.

Georgetown University To Give Slave Descendants Priority For Admission

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 01:30 PM PDT

WASHINGTON (WJZ) –€" Georgetown University is acknowledging the role slavery played in the prestigious university's history. On Thursday, the university announced it will offer preferential admissions benefits to the descendants of slaves it sold back in 1838.

A prestigious institution facing a dark past. In 1838, Georgetown University sold 272 slaves to pay off debts — a $3 million sale by today's standards.

On Thursday, leaders announced steps to right the wrongs, including an apology and granting descendants of those slaves preferential admissions treatment — a benefit children of current alumni already have.

"I believe the fundamental question we are wrestling with now is how can we contribute to ensuring evermore access and affordability to higher education in America for hundreds of thousands who are not able to access it," said President John DeGioia, Georgetown University.

Refugee: Rape not crime because acceptable in my homeland

20-year-old Muslim man pleads guilty to sexual assault on boy, 10

(London Daily Mail)
A refugee who raped a ten-year-old boy has claimed he did not know sexually assaulting the child was wrong as it was 'culturally acceptable' in his homeland.

Mufiz Rahaman told Sydney's Downing Centre Court raping children was not seen as morally wrong in his native Myanmar when he pleaded guilty to the aggravated sexual assault of a 10-year-old refugee on Wednesday, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The 20-year-old and his young victim are both stateless Rohingya Muslims – a group of people considered illegal immigrants from Bangladesh by the Buddhist-majority in Myanmar – who came to Australia to flee religious persecution.

Starting schools after Labor Day makes business owners beam

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 12:30 PM PDT

Just one week ago Ocean City Beach was packed full of families laying out in the sun, playing in the sand and munching on Thrashers french fries.

As Melanie Pursel, executive director of the Greater Ocean City, Maryland Chamber of Commerce, drove down Coastal Highway on Thursday on her way to a meeting at Fish Tails, there was hardly anybody on the roads.

Needless to say, Pursel is happy about Gov. Larry Hogan's executive order for Maryland public schools to begin after Labor Day starting next year.

"We want people here. The weather is beautiful and the water is the warmest it is all year in August," Pursel said. "I think it will be incredible for Ocean City."

Though Hogan has been widely criticized for the move by the state teachers' union, child advocacy groups and some parents, so far the change is being hailed by businesses in Ocean City and beyond.

MSP: Three Arrested In Somerset County on Gun, Drug and Assault Charges

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 12:07 PM PDT

September 2, 2016

(Crisfield, MD) – Troopers from the Princess Anne Barrack investigate an assault, which led to two search warrants, the recovery of guns/drugs and the arrests of three Somerset County men.

Those charged are identified as Savon Douglas, 21, Hans Wegt II, 23, and Aaron Sterling, 27, all of the Somers Cove apartment complex in Crisfield, Maryland. All were charged with firearms charges, CDS possession marijuana, CDS possession with intent to distribute, robbery, armed robbery and two counts of first degree assault. All were transported to the Somerset County Court Commissioner's Office and held on $250,000 bond at the Somerset County Detention Center.

The victim is a 31-year-old man of Marion, Maryland. The victim transported himself to McCready Hospital for treatment of what appeared to be blunt force trauma injuries to his head.

At 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, troopers from the Princess Anne Barrack received a 9-1-1 call from McCready Hospital reporting an assault that recently occurred. The caller reported the victim had been struck in the head with a gun and entered the emergency room seeking medical attention. Upon arrival, troopers made contact with the victim and it was determined he had been assaulted, injured and robbed.

The preliminary Maryland State Police investigation by troopers from the Princess Anne Barrack and the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Lower Shore Division determined the 31-year-old victim had been with his friend Douglas earlier that day. Douglas was under the impression that the victim had a large sum of money and plotted with Wegt II and Sterling to rob the victim.

Search warrants were obtained by Maryland State Police and served at the suspects' residence by Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Lower Shore Division, state troopers from the Princess Anne Barrack, Somerset County Narcotics Task Force, deputies from the Somerset County Sheriff's Department and officers from the Crisfield Police Department.

Service of the search warrants resulted in the recovery of four guns and individually packaged marijuana. In addition concealed knives, digital scales and drug paraphernalia were recovered.

Donald Trump will end complacency on the illegal immigration crisis

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 12:00 PM PDT

The mainstream media and the Democrats have become complacent on the issue of illegal immigration. President Obama and Hillary Clinton clearly see it as the norm simply to shrug and accept the idea that people can illegally enter the United States and stay indefinitely without penalty. For them, even raising the idea of curbing illegal immigration makes one a bigot or a xenophobe.

We are a country of immigrants who have built this great nation, but it is legal immigration that we should be recognizing and encouraging. Legal immigrants deserve respect for following the laws of our nation and completing the process. This is not an extreme concept. It is a matter of simply protecting our nation's sovereignty and knowing who is coming into our nation.

At one point, Mrs. Clinton agreed with these concepts. She once adamantly opposed illegal immigration and supported the Secure Fence Act to protect our borders. Now, she says, she hates the wall that Donald Trumppromises to build and supports expanding Mr. Obama's executive orders on amnesty and open-borders policies.

The Democratic nominee is putting out a welcome mat for foreign nationals who believe that they can overstay their visas or cross the border illegally. Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton have sent an unmistakable signal to rest of the world that the U.S. won't protect its borders or enforce its basic laws. That only encourages more immigrants to jump the line and find an alternate route to enter the United States. Of course, the media by and large can't be bothered to call Mrs. Clinton on her immigration flip-flops.

Maryland banks increase profits by 21% in second quarter

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 11:30 AM PDT

Maryland banks posted a 21 percent profit increase in the second quarter as lending and deposits both were on the rise.

OCEAN CITY, MD – (September 2, 2016):   Ocean City's Emergency Management officials are closely monitoring the track of Tropical Storm Hermine, which will begin to effect the area in the morning hours tomorrow, September 3.  Currently, forecast predictions include moderate rainfall (approximately four to seven inches) and moderate flooding during tidal cycles. All of Ocean City will be susceptible to flooding, with significant flooding expected in Zone A. Heavy winds are expected with sustained wind speeds of 30-40 mph and gusts up to 50 mph. Residents and property owners, particularly in ALL of Zone A, should prepare for moderate to severe flooding beginning in the early morning hours tomorrow, September 3. To find out what zone you are in, visit oceancitymd.gov/KnowYourZone.  Preparedness efforts include tying up water vessels, removing outdoor furniture, and securing objects susceptible to wind and flooding.

As always, the town remains committed to keeping residents and visitors informed with accurate information before, during and after the storm. Citizens should subscribe to the e-news and/or follow the town's social media channels to stay informed!

Did Hillary engineer Weiner's downfall?

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 11:00 AM PDT

Who, other than the man himself, worked to expose Anthony Weiner?

Before Tuesday's announcement that Huma Abedin had finally come to her senses and was disposing of her sicko husband, the New York Post ran yet another piece about Weiner, showing him up to his old tricks.

In 2015, according to the story, the former Congressman and supposedly reformed sexter began exchanging suggestive and lewd texts with a buxom babe, sending crotch shots displaying his horniness as well as X-rated emojis. That is, in 2015, two years after he had to drop out of his mayoral run because had been caught out…again. Four years after resigning from Congress in the wake of the first revelations about his seamy sexting. The man simply cannot control himself.

But I digress. Now, back to the question of who "outed" Weiner -- my bet is on Hillary Clinton or a surrogate. Not Huma Abedin, Weiner's wife and one of Clinton's top aides who was clearly suffering Stockholm Syndrome and was unable to break loose of her idiot husband. But Hillary and others on her team surely recognized how dangerous Weiner could be if Mrs. Clinton were to become president. After all, the Clintons know about Bimbo eruptions.

‘White Lives Matter’ added to list of hate groups

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 10:30 AM PDT

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Southern Poverty Law Center, the watchdog group known for tracking hate groups, is adding "White Lives Matter" to the list.

The group says the phrase is frequently used by white supremacist as a counter-slogan to "Black Live Matter".

SPLC reps contend the movement has now been organized into a separate white nationalist group, headquartered in Tennessee.

Black Lives Matter is not on the list, because the SPLC says the leaders and founders of that movement have done "nothing at all to suggest that the bulk of the demonstrators hold supremacist or black separatist views."

Exclusive: Trump Camp Mulls Using Seized Cartel Assets to Pay for Wall

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 10:00 AM PDT

Joint effort eyed to combat flow of drugs, guns and people would be a 'win-win' for both Mexico and U.S.

To fund construction of a new U.S. border wall, Donald Trump and senior advisers are considering various ideas, including the use of assets seized from drug cartels and others in the illicit drug trade.

As the debate over who will pay for the wall dominates the discussion on cable news, sources involved in the pre-planning of the GOP nominee's Mexico trip told LifeZette the Trump camp is looking for innovative ways to pay for the construction of the border wall — ways that both countries can support. Sensitivities in Mexico regarding Trump's visit, and specifically paying for the border wall, are running high.

Low-Fat Myths: Why What We've Been Told Is Wrong

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 09:53 AM PDT

We're finally coming to our dietary senses, say experts, who herald the return of full-fat products as dietary staples. Study after study has demonstrated that low-fat, high-carbohydrate diets just don't work to drive weight loss or prevent disease.

In fact, they are the culprits causing our obesity epidemic, which is a contributing factor to cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.

"Finally Americans are getting rid of the not-fat craze," notes cardiologist Dr. Stephen Sinatra, co-author of "Health Revelations from Heaven and Earth."

He tells Newsmax Health the latest nutrition research over the last decade or so has clearly demonstrated that consuming more healthy fats is far superior to eating simple carbs and sugars – for health and weight loss.

"For example, eating organic butters, healthy fish, meats, and especially yogurts containing saturated fats results in a more favorable insulin response than the fat-free foods, which can cause an alarming insulin response in the body," he says.

"The trick to getting healthy, stabilizing our weight and reducing the risk of diabetes and heart disease is to add more healthy fats to the diet along with lean protein, while reducing sugary carbs at the same time. When you do this, insulin levels are less likely to soar and the body responds physiologically with less glycation for better health and aliveness."

Dr. Drew Ramsay, author of "Eat Complete," points out that "the scientific evidence that tells us saturated fats are harmful has been significantly questioned by the medical community.

‘Hillary’s America’ Getting Theatrical Re-Release Due to Popular Demand

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 09:45 AM PDT

Dinesh D'Souza's documentary film Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party will be re-released in hundreds of theaters this weekend due to popular demand.

Hillary's America — which charts the "secret" history of the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton's position atop it, including her early meetings with the radical Saul Alinsky and up through recent controversies involving her email server and the Clinton Foundation — will be re-released in about 400 theaters across the country this weekend after fans lobbied theaters for additional screenings, D'Souza told Breitbart News in a phone conversation on Wednesday.

The film is already the top-grossing documentary of this year with $12.5 million in receipts, beating out the IMAX documentary A Beautiful Planet and Michael Moore's Where to Invade Next, which earned $3.8 million during its theatrical run in February.

"It couldn't be more timely," D'Souza told Breitbart of the timing of the re-release, which comes as Clinton and Republican candidate Donald Trump spar over accusations of racism.

"I think there's momentum on Trump's side, and part of it is that Trump has begun to go where no previous Republican has gone. He's challenging the Democrats where they've seemed strong, and that's to be the party of minorities," D'Souza said. "It's not about winning the black vote, necessarily. It's about taking away the Democrats' secret weapon; that it's on the right side of history, that it's moved things forward. And Trump is saying that's not so."

Legal Questions Remain On Hogan Executive Order

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 09:30 AM PDT

Legal experts are weighing in as pushback continues over Gov. Larry Hogan's executive order requiring public school to start after Labor Day.

The governor issued an executive order Wednesday that requires public schools to start classes after Labor Day and end by June 15.

"This isn't just a family issue. It is an economic and public safety issue," Hogan said Wednesday.

The executive order is carefully worded: "Each local Board of Education shall retain full responsibility for establishing its annual academic calendar and therefore shall have the necessary latitude to determine how best to comply with the provisions of this executive order along with state and local laws."

Some are wondering if the governor's order is legal.

Executive orders are basically instructions to agencies. In this case, the governor's office, based on case law, considers local school boards as units of state government.

Biden Dodges, Won’t Say Clinton Foundation Has Been '100% Ethical'

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 09:23 AM PDT

Thursday in Warren, OH, MSNBC's Kasie Hunt confronted Vice President Joe Biden over whether Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has been "100 percent ethical," in light of the various pay-to-play accusations between then-Secretary Hillary Clinton's State Department and her family's organization, the Clinton Foundation.

Partial transcript as follows:

HUNT: Hillary Clinton obviously is not on the trail. You're here in Ohio. Do you think she needs to be out front with the American people a little bit more?

BIDEN: She is out front with the American people.

HUNT: She's been fund-raising for a couple weeks.

BIDEN: She has to, but she's also been doing a lot of events and I told her I'd campaign with her in Scranton. We got a whole bunch of places we're campaigning together and some places where maybe I can help and not have her have to be with me.

Matt Lauer to Moderate 'Commander-in-Chief Forum' – Will NBC Disclose Link to Clinton Foundation?

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 09:15 AM PDT

Matt Lauer, once listed as a member of the Clinton Global Initiative, will moderate the first joint public appearance from Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

The Clinton Global Initiative, one chapter of the scandal-plagued Clinton Foundation, listed Lauer as a "notable member" just years ago. NBC's press release does not disclose this fact.

From NBC:

"TODAY" co-anchor Matt Lauer will moderate the first-ever Commander-in-Chief Forum on Wednesday, September 7, presented by NBC News and MSNBC with the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.

During this one-hour forum live from the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City, both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will be on stage back-to-back taking questions on national security, military affairs and veterans issues from NBC News and an audience comprised mainly of military veterans and active service members.

Hillary Clinton’s unpopularity hits new high: poll

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 09:07 AM PDT

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's unpopularity has hit a new high, as she's erased some of the good will built up in the wake of last month's Democratic National Convention, according to an ABC News-Washington Post poll released Wednesday.

Thirty-eight percent of registered voters now have a favorable view of Mrs. Clinton, compared to 59 percent who reported an unfavorable view. That's down from her 46 percent/52 percent favorable/unfavorable split in early August, shortly after the Democrats' convention in Philadelphia.

Among registered voters, she's now on par with Republican nominee Donald Trump, who had a 37 percent/60 percent favorable/unfavorable split in the new poll — essentially unchanged from a 36 percent/61 percent split in early August.

Among all adults, 56 percent said they have an unfavorable view of Mrs. Clinton, compared to 63 percent for Mr. Trump.

National Vietnam Veterans Foundation named worst charity; CEO flees in Rolls Royce

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 09:00 AM PDT

The nation's lowest-rated veterans charity is run by a lawyer at the Department of Veterans Affairs with a six-figure income.

The National Vietnam Veterans Foundation gave just $122,000 in cash donations to veterans in 2014 despite pulling in $8.5 million, tax records obtained by CNN show.

J. Thomas Burch, the CEO and founder of the National Vietnam Veterans Foundation, sped off in a Rolls Royce whenconfronted by the network on Monday.

"Mr. Burch! Mr Burch! Mr Burch!" a reporter implored as the vehicle took off down a suburban street in Washington, D.C. The network wanted to know how just 2 percent of all donations to NVVF were funneled to actual Vietnam veterans.

Charity Navigator, one of the most influential charity watchdog organizations in the U.S., gave Mr. Burch's organization a zero-star rating on a four-star scale.

Stoking Russia Panic for Partisan Gain Will Have a Long-Term Price for Peace

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 08:45 AM PDT

On Saturday's episode of AM Joy with Joy Ann Reid, guest Malcolm Nance, a former Naval intelligence officer, summed up MSNBC's Russia panic with this quote:

Joy Ann Reid: Because from what I've seen, the only people not with Hillary Clinton at this point…are people in the Jill Stein camp. Jill Stein was sitting at Putin's table right with General Flynn.

Malcolm Nance: Jill Stein has a show on Russia Today.

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein doesn't have a show at all, let alone on RT. She once attended a function hosted by RT, which, by our current standards of liberal discourse, makes her a Kremlin agent, but the fact that such a demonstrably false statement could be made on cable news to thousands of people without anyone bothering to correct it shows how easy Russia panic is to stoke.

Earlier in the segment, Nance made the claim that "someone" in Trump's campaign "may" be an "agent of Russia," citing a recent report in theFinancial Times (8/19/16) alleging that Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort's former translator "may" have "links" to Russian intelligence.

The irony, of course, is that Nance himself has far more recent and better documented ties to US intelligence, but MSNBC feels no need to convince viewers he is not a CIA plant spreading disinformation.

Hillary's Incoherent Attempt to Pre-empt Trump Mexico Visit

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 08:37 AM PDT

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton attempted Wednesday to pre-empt Donald Trump's visit to Mexico later in the day, telling an American Legion convention in Cincinnati Trump could not undo a year of insults in a few hours.

"It certainly takes more than trying to make up for a year of insults and insinuations by dropping in on our neighbors for a few hours and then flying home again. That is not how it works," said Clinton, whose main achievement as Secretary of State was the sheer number of her foreign visits.

The bulk of Clinton's speech was a confused, incoherent muddle of talking points, at times contradictory. For example, she mocked Trump for calling the military a "disaster" — by which he meant the poor condition of the armed forces — and then called for the U.S. to "modernize" the military, effectively conceding Trump's point.

BBB Warns Consumers About Auto Warranty Company Based In Salisbury

BALTIMORE —The Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland is warning consumers about a Maryland-based auto warranty company that they said is doing bad business with customers' money.

The BBB has given the Auto Warranty Agency an F rating and officials said they're dealing with a lot of frustrated customers.

Connie Mitchell knew she would eventually need work done on the used Mercedes that had 60,000 miles on it when she bought it last year. That is what led her to the Auto Warranty Agency, which was advertising extended car service contracts.

Mitchell said that she paid nearly $4,000 for the contract and got a receipt confirming the company received her money.

But when it came time to need car service, Mitchell said she ran into problems

HILLARY TO DONOR: 'Let me know what penance I owe you'

Is Hillary Clinton a slave to her donors?

Clinton's State Department emails from her private server released by Wikileaks reveal a servant relationship with America's wealthy elites.

She had regular conversations with frequent fundraiser Lynn Forester de Rothschild, including one exchange in 2010 in which Clinton played messenger and informed de Rothschild that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair would no longer be able to attend a speaking gig for the donor.

On its website, Keybridge openly claims to be able to "brand a CEO" by putting op-eds into newspapers in "virtually every major city."

Less openly, Keybridge carefully markets its services with a PDF that names people for whom it claims to have written and placed op-eds.

USA Today Helps Mylan Sell an Extortionate Price for EpiPen

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 08:00 AM PDT

"Under Fire, Mylan to Offer Generic EpiPen for 50% Less," was USA Today's headline (8/29/16).

That depends on when you start the clock.

The drug-maker announced that it would be selling an unbranded version of the lifesaving anti-allergy device for $300 for a two-pack. That's actually a little more than a 50 percent reduction from the current list price; a two-pack of EpiPens generally sells for $608.

But that's the recently jacked-up price that sparked the outrage that forced Mylan to offer a generic alternative. A year ago, an EpiPen set was going for$461. That would make the $300 price a 35 percent reduction, not 50 percent.

Donald Trump hammers Hillary Clinton over 'bleached' emails

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 07:45 AM PDT

Donald Trump used a military veterans forum on Thursday to attack Hillary Clinton over her classified email and public corruption scandals, showing that he's willing to take swipes at his Democratic opponent no matter the setting or the audience.

Speaking to the annual convention of the American Legion in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Republican presidential nominee pledged to restore 'an honest State Department' free of 'pay-for-play' arrangements.

'She probably didn't mention that to you yesterday,' Trump quipped, drawing laughs as he referred to Clinton's Wednesday morning speech to the same group.

'Government access and favors will no longer be for sale,' he vowed, in a nod to claims that Clinton sold access to U.S. diplomacy in exchange for donations to her family foundation.

Judge kills claims against Oglesby by former officers

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 07:30 AM PDT

District Court Judge J. Frederick Motz ruled on a number of motions brought by the defendants in the case between three former Pocomoke City police officers and a large number of government officials and staff last Friday, denying all but one. The charges against State's Attorney Beau Oglesby have been dismissed.

Motz, in his decision, said, "The claims raised by the plaintiffs are barred by the doctrine of absolute prosecutorial immunity."

The U.S. Supreme Court held in 1976 that a state prosecuting attorney who acted within the scope of his duties in initiating, pursuing a criminal prosecution and presenting a case, is absolutely immune from civil damages.

The plaintiffs, former Police Chief Kelvin Sewell as well as former officers Lynell Green and Franklin Savage, alleged that Oglesby had acted outside of his duties when he read aloud, among colleagues, letters composed by a suspect during a meeting held in April 2014. The letters contained multiple instances of the word "nigga."

Public Universities REQUIRE Social Justice Training

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 07:15 AM PDT

In the wake of the swarm of Black Lives Matter protests that engulfed America's campuses last academic year, administrators at a number of taxpayer-funded college and universities are forcibly indoctrinating students with required social justice training.

The University of Missouri, Oregon State University, Virginia Tech and the University of Wisconsin-Madison are four public schools at which bureaucrats have instituted mandatory social justice curricula, according to Inside Higher Ed.

"It's important to try and create more opportunities for open dialogue about these issues," Kevin Kruger, a spokesman for the atrociously-acronymed NASPA (Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education), told the website. "Most campuses understand that the protests and activism last year show that there are issues that need to be addressed."

New Virginia Poll Show Trump And Clinton In Dead Heat

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 07:00 AM PDT

A Hampton University Center For Public Policy released a new presidential poll of Virginia voters Thursday showing a dead heat between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton.

The poll asked 801 likely Virginia voters between August 24 and 28 who they were going to vote for and 43 percent chose Clinton, and 41 percent responded that they would vote for Trump. Sixteen percent of Virginia voters said they still do not know who to pick or refused to answer.

Additionally, both Trump and Clinton have roughly equal unfavorable ratings from voters in the Old Dominion with Trump at 55 percent and Clinton at 54 percent. Their running mates Tim Kaine and Mike Pence have relatively lower unfavorable ratings at 40 percent and 32 percent, respectively.

Trump Hustles as Queen Hillary Hides Behind Her Media Palace Guards

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 06:53 AM PDT

Last week I thought Hillary Clinton's plan to stay out of the limelight was pretty smart: a) Hillary doesn't wear well; she's nothing close to likable. b) attendance at her rallies is pathetic; terrible optics. c) she's trying to cover up her poor health. d) you don't make gaffes if you're not out there. e) the corrupt mainstream media is running her campaign for her.

By assuming this position, Hillary put the Trump campaign in a bit of a bind. How do you smoke her out without appearing defensive and desperate?

It appears as though Team Trump might have found a way, and a number of factors indicate it might be working. First off, the polls appear to be tightening. In the Reuters rolling survey, Trump has made up a -12 point deficit. Trump has also expanded his lead in the USC rolling poll. The RCP poll of polls still shows him -4 points down (and a bit stalled), but he was -6 and -7 points down just a few weeks ago.

Trump is also crawling back in key states, still behind but within striking distance in Ohio, Iowa, Nevada, Florida, and North Carolina.

A Photo Hillary Would Rather You NOT See: Bill Clinton Officiating the Weiner-Abedin Wedding

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 06:45 AM PDT

Above is an image that you probably won't see featured on any mainstream media sites. That's because it's photographic evidence that Bill Clinton did indeed officiate the 2010 wedding of Hillary's close confidante Huma Abedin and her sexting-addicted former husband and failed NYC mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner.

The picture comes via Newsbusters, who managed to track it down through the 2016 documentary Weiner (a rather mesmerizing film for those interested in human psychology, particularly narcissism and self-delusion; trailer below). Newsbusters notes how hard it was to actually find visual evidence of Clinton's participation in the doomed-from-the-start wedding:

THEY KNEW: Leaked Pelosi docs admit Obama, Clinton lied about Benghazi

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 06:37 AM PDT

Documents from Nancy Pelosi's computer were leaked by the Romanian hacker "Guccifer 2.0," including a memo showing that the House Minority Leader knew the Obama Administration and Hillary Clinton lied to the American people about Benghazi and choose to hide those facts.

The memo states all talking points and background information about the Benghazi attacks and included in a bold font that UN Ambassador Susan Rice's claims about an internet video were "later proved false."

Three sentenced after July Boardwalk confrontation

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 06:31 AM PDT

Eight people who face charges related to the Boardwalk melee in July appeared in Ocean City District Court this week, with the man accused of instigating the large-scale confrontation with police pleading guilty Tuesday morning to second-degree assault on an officer and resisting arrest.

Kevin Rustin, 22, of Silver Spring faced several charges, including two felonies, that originated when he kicked a Boardwalk trashcan and threw it to the ground near 1st Street and Atlantic Avenue.

According to testimony, Rustin was notably intoxicated and was aggressive towards officers when they confronted him.

"When he was told to sit down and that he was under arrest, he said 'go ahead and shoot me, you m***********g cops … put a bullet in my back,'" Assistant State's Attorney Heather Clarke told the court.

Rustin also punched an officer and attempted to head-butt another, she told Judge Daniel Mumford. Police had to put violent prisoner restraints on Rustin and it took two minutes to gain control of the situation, she said.

No deportation: Sanctuary cities protect 11,800 criminal aliens

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 06:15 AM PDT

New map shows 300 safe havens across U.S.

Sanctuary cities continue to be a festering public-safety problem throughout the country with about 300 identified by ICE as having a policy that is non-cooperative and obstructs immigration enforcement, the Center for Immigration Studies reported Wednesday.

That's about the same number since CIS' last update in January 2016, as some new sanctuary cities have been added and a few have reversed their sanctuary policies.

CIS published a newly updated interactive map showing all 300 sanctuary cities. (See the cities listed at end of this article.) These are in addition to four whole states – California, Connecticut, New Mexico, Colorado – that remain sanctuary states.

Fifteen states have zero sanctuary cities – Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, Oklahoma, Idaho, Indiana, Utah, West Virginia, Wyoming and South Dakota.

Why Is The DHS Preparing To Take Control Of The US Election?

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 06:07 AM PDT

What do you do when you're the dictatorial leader of an oppressive government regime looking to maintain power while simultaneously preserving the facade of free and open elections? Well, if you're the Obama administration then you look for avenues to nationalize state-run election infrastructure.

But you can't just seize control of infrastructure that has been successfully run at the state level for a couple hundred years...that kind of stuff only happens in Venezuela and we're better than that. No, you need a catalyst for this kind of blatant power grab. "Coincidentally", a catalyst just like the FBI's warning a couple of days ago about "foreign hackers [read Putin] penetrating state election systems." Then, once you've defined the super villain, all you need is a couple of political cronies to go on a fear mongering tour to whip the electorate into a frenzy. And wouldn't you know it...Harry Reid recently did just that by sending a letter to the FBI voicing his "concerns" that the "Russian government" may be looking to tamper with the upcoming presidential election. Per the New York Times, Harry Reid's letter to the FBI included the following:

Hiding Hillary Day 271: Will Trump Surge Force Hillary out of Hiding?

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 05:53 AM PDT

It has now been 271 days since Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton held a press conference.

#HidingHillary is a campaign strategy to prevent Clinton from making public gaffes. By avoiding unscripted questions and public appearances that are not carefully controlled by the campaign, the tactic is designed to allow Clinton's opponent, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, to hand her the presidency through his own self-inflicted wounds.

#HidingHillary might minimize the risk of mistakes for Clinton, but it bolsters Trump's ability to set the narrative. Under the leadership of Kellyanne Conway and Steve Bannon, Trump's campaign is taking full advantage of #HidingHillary, focusing on Clinton's many scandals and more recently on Trump's immigration policy in an attempt to redirect the political conversation.

Small Business Defaults Rise, Borrowing Drops: "What Scares Us Is The Rise In Delinquencies"

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 05:45 AM PDT

Yesterday, we pointed out something disturbing when we looked at the latest NACM Credit Manager Index report: over the past year it had declined steadily, hitting the lowest print since 2009, or as the National Asscoiation of Credit Managers' economist Chris Kuehl said "Overall, it was fun while it lasted - the trends had been up and now they aren't" adding that "the best that can be said about the decline is that it was bad and hasn't gotten much worse.... The sales collapse is consistent with what has been appearing in the Purchasing Managers' Index and other statistics, so it is unlikely to be an anomaly, not good timing as far as the retail community is concerned."

Today, we got a validating, and equally concerning, perspective on how small businesses are doing, courtesy of the latest Thomson Reuters/PayNet Small Business Lending Index, which fell to 121.5 in July, the lowest level since January and down from an upwardly revised 139.2 in June.

But while the headline decline was mildly troubling, the details within the report were worse: according to PayNet, borrowing by U.S. small businesses sank in July, with more firms late on repaying existing loans, trends which according to Reuters "point to softer economic growth ahead."

More troubling is that companies are increasingly struggling to pay back existing debts. Loans more than 30 days past due rose in July to 1.63%, the fourth straight monthly increase and the highest delinquency rate since December 2012, separate data from PayNet showed.

Farage: 'Hillary Brings Stability... Of Failure'

Outgoing UKIP leader Nigel Farage told Breitbart News Daily that Hillary Clinton "represents the status quo" and will bring "the stability of failure" to the United States if she wins the presidential election this November.

Speaking to Breitbart London's Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam, the outgoing UKIP leader and Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Nigel Farage has stated that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, along with the rest of the global political establishment "have led us into a series of wars, they've massively increased our levels of debt, and they represent failure".

He continued: "When Hillary talks about stability, what she means is the stability of failure. The stability of policies that haven't worked, and what the West needs is a change."

More Americans Behind on Car Payments as Sales Near Peak

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 05:30 AM PDT

Auto sales, though still flirting with the possibility of another annual record, have begun to level off as consumers satisfy much of the pent-up demand that swelled during the recession. Another sign the market may be reaching its peak: more Americans are falling behind on their car payments.

As U.S. sales growth slows in 2016, summer demand is falling short of last year's blockbuster numbers. Industry-wide sales ticked 0.7% higher in July compared to the same month a year ago, according to Autodata. In July 2015, automakers reported a 5.3% increase in deliveries. General Motors (GM), Ford (F) and their fellow manufacturers will release August sales results on Thursday.

The slowing pace of sales has come at a time when loan delinquencies are on the rise in the $1 trillion auto-loan market. For subprime auto loans, delinquencies extending beyond 60 days jumped 17% last month, Fitch Ratings said in a recent reportOpens a New Window.. The upswing is more pronounced for prime delinquencies, which were up 21% versus July 2015.

Trump-Modern Day Paul Revere Deserves Nobel Peace Prize

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 05:23 AM PDT

Give that man a Nobel Peace Prize!

Donald Trump — the modern day Paul Revere — rocked the political world when he jumped into the race last year warning about the invasion across America's southern border that politicians in both parties had been desperately trying to cover up for years. Actually, Revere did not have it nearly so hard as Mr. Trump, who was branded a bigot and a racist and anti-American for simply arguing that America should enforce our duly enacted immigration laws and secure our border.

Mr. Trump stuck with the issue and rode it all the way to the Republican nomination.

Granted, Mr. Trump always does things his own way. Such as when he celebrated Cinco de Mayo by posing for picture eating a taco bowl from Trump Tower, giving a thumbs-up and pronouncing: "I love Hispanics!" Not exactly a campaign strategy taught at the Georgetown University for Politicians.

Call it Taco Bowl Diplomacy. But, apparently, it works!

The Secret Global Court: Why Corporate Criminals & Corrupt Politicians Desperately Want TPP

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 05:15 AM PDT

Obama needs to ensure he gets well compensated after leaving office for a job well done protecting, defending and further enriching the global oligarch class. This is precisely why he's so adamant about passing the TPP during the upcoming lame duck session of Congress, when he knows "representatives" who no longer face reelection can be coerced or bribed into voting for this monumental public betrayal.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) ins't really a free trade deal, it's a way for global oligarchs to consolidate, grow and protect their enormous wealth. The investor-state dispute settlement system (ISDS) is perhaps the most nefarious and objectionable aspect of the deal, with this shadowy court system being used to accomplish the following for the super rich and powerful:

1) Eliminate sovereign risk from their investments.

2) Earn money by scouring the world for potential ISDS "opportunities" and then speculating on them.

3) Escape prosecution from criminality on a global basis.

WBOC Finally Saying We'll Get More Then HUMIDITY This Weekend

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 05:07 AM PDT

While WBOC tried to hold on to a non event this weekend they have finally, (this morning) started on the path of reality and admitted we're going to see rain.

SBYNews stated 10 days ago that we'd see this storm coming and I guess Dan thought he'd try to call us liars. After all, we're not Meteorologists, we don't have alleged awards from made up organizations no one has ever heard of but isn't it funny how SBYNews continues to call major snow storms and WBOC claims they don't expect any snow. Then we stated the snow storm WBOC called for is a non event and wouldn't you know it, no snow.

Are we pounding our chest, NO. What we're doing is telling you that as we have no degree or experience in weather predictions we can actually do a better job then the alleged Delmarvas News Leader. It's no wonder the Weather Ap  is FREE. Who the hell would pay for the crap they feed?

A Viewer Writes.....WHAT IN THE WORLD IS WRONG WITH PRMC???

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 04:30 AM PDT

I want to know what in the world we are ever going to do about the Emergency Room at Peninsula Regional Medical Center? I have NEVER in my life seen or experienced such a pitiful excuse for emergency "health" care. Let me explain…

My sister, 53, was taken by ambulance with possible heart attack to PRMC at approximately 9:45am. She was taken to the trauma room, connected to the monitor and all the protocol's followed. Her pain was so far above a 10 that she could barely breathe. Due to her heart rate and blood pressure running LOW, she was given a baby dose of morphine, a nitro tablet under her tongue and nitro patch on her chest. Well… of course her pressure continued to run in 90's (normal 120), her heart rate ran in the 30's and low 40's (normal is 60-80), her oxygen level would drop into the 80's (below 90 you need to have oxygen via nasal canula), and she would stop breathing. Now, I sat by her side, had her hold my hand and squeeze it through the wave of pain, and I continued to remind her to breathe. Where were the nurses you ask? That was my question. The alarm was going off on the monitor, constantly.

After an hour and a half or so, a code red was called. This meant another ambulance was coming in, critical condition. They came into my sister, told us they were going to have to move her to another room due to this other patient coming in. She was taken off the monitor (still in pain), and moved into another room. Everyone left. Did they hook her back up to ANYTHING? Nope! We waited for half an hour before anyone came back into the room, and I had to go get someone to come in and do it! Now, here you have a patient that comes into the emergency room, by ambulance, possible heart attack, low blood pressure, low heart rate, low oxygen, low respiration due to pain, and not attached to any monitors for half an hour! Her pain was still terrible. She couldn't get pain medication because of having the low blood pressure; she had a headache from the nitro patch, and complained of such terrible dizziness. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. I had to ask the "nurse?" if she didn't think that my sister needed to be on oxygen, since her O2 was running 88! She thought that was a good idea!!!!

Of course, the monitor's alarm was continuing to go off quite often due to her heart rate dropping below 38, so, in comes someone (have no clue who), and says he was going to change the settings on the monitor because the alarm was a pain, and didn't need to be going off so often. I made the comment that it was going off because of her heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels going so low, and didn't he think they needed to know what was going on. I was informed they could see it at the desk.

Finally, at approximately 12:30, I went out of the room, found someone, made the comment that my sister had been brought in by ambulance that morning with a possible heart attack, and it was now 12:30, I thought maybe it was time that we saw a doctor! It wasn't many minutes before this person came in the room dressed in a t-shirt and blue pants. She leaned over my sister, turned off the television, stated that the tests so far didn't show anything but that they knew something
was going on and that as soon as they knew something they would let her know. No introduction, no how are you feeling, nothing. My sisters' fiancé, trying to "lighten" this person's mood just a little, asked what was ailing her then. The woman (I will assume was the doctor) said, "And who are you?" We just looked at her. She finally said, "We don't know what's ailing her." She then left the room. This doctor was obnoxious. She didn't know what we had just been through in the last thirty days. Nor, apparently, did she care that we were sitting there watching our loved one in excruciating pain or that I was a nurse and understood what the monitors numbers meant!

Just to give you just a little background, my 37 year old son passed away, complications from cardiomegaly, a 53 year old friend past away from cardiac arrest, now my sister in the ER with possible heart attack! All this within thirty days, and this "doctor" wants to be ugly, nobody wants to address the monitor alarms, her pain, even to just give us any updates at all? I had to leave the room to ask if they were going to run any more fluids or did they want me to disconnect her EMPTY IV bag.

At 2:30, a lady came in the room, and said, "You know you are being admitted?" Our answer was "No". We hadn't seen anyone since the nurse had come in to disconnect the IV bag. Nobody came in my sisters' room except one very sweet nurse; apologizing for the care my sister had been given. She had been pulled to the other trauma and another nurse had been assigned to my sister. The other nurse had never come into the room.

So, here we have a possible heart attack patient brought into the ER, by ambulance, in severe pain, low blood pressure, low heart rate, low oxygen saturation, low respirations with basically no care for almost five (5) hours! The only time anyone entered her room was when we went and complained, except when taken for a cat scan. I thought cardiac enzymes were to be drawn every so often? When did that change?

As it turns out, after my sister got to her room, cardiac enzymes were drawn again, and she had in fact, had a heart attack! And believe it or not, most likely, the "wave" of pain she was having in the ER is exactly when she was having the worse of it! Thank goodness, the cardiac catherization showed there was no damage done. Apparently a clot had run through her heart.

I can't say enough about 2W. Everyone on that floor, from the nurses to housekeeping was WONDERFUL! They are the most caring group of people. They made us all feel like the most important people there. What a great group! Maybe PRMC needs to have these folks teach the ER how to treat people.

Now, my next problem…why in the world do you send a patient home in less than 24 hours after having a heart attack? I don't care how "mild" or how "severe" the heart attack is, I don't think that having a cardiac cath at 8:30pm one day means you can go home at lunch time the next day. Patients don't have enough time to hardly realize exactly what has even happened to them, much less know if the medication they are put on is going to work or what the reaction is going to be from that medication! My sister was given prescriptions for medication that she hadn't even had in the hospital. Now how would anyone know if she had a negative reaction to one of these medications when she was home during the day, alone? What if the medication lowered her
blood pressure or heart rate so low that she just stopped breathing? Why, when she was still having pain was she sent home? What if she had another clot? I realize there are always going to be "what if's" but don't you think more than 20 hours in the hospital are needed for a heart attack? Is PRMC afraid that the VA isn't going to pay them? What about the patient, or don't they care?

I was one that used to defend our hospital. I was proud of Peninsula General Hospital. Peninsula Regional Medical Center was pretty good also, for a while, until they started worrying about the Almighty Dollar instead of the patient care. I can say that PRMC's operating room, recovery room, same day surgery, ICU, 2W, Layfield tower, and a few other parts of the hospital are very good but the ER?, not on your life.

I definitely understand now why people say they are going to the morgue when they are headed to the ER. I tried to defend the ER, but after this experience with my sister, never again. I will tell anyone to go somewhere, anywhere else. If she had a massive heart attack, I'm afraid she would have died right there. No one would have ever known what was going on.

For an area as big as Salisbury and our surrounding towns, and a hospital as big as Peninsula Regional Medical Center is, this ER is just a disgrace. I'm actually embarrassed for the good people that do work there.

Since PRMC is soooo concerned with HIPPA, I won't sign my name… I'm sure the ones involved know who they are!

Subject: Report: China Developing System to Repel Long-Range US Missiles

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 04:00 AM PDT

China is apparently developing missiles — including a new system that would repel long-range weapons — for a future conflict with the United States, according to news reports.

"We will pay close attention to relevant actions of the U.S. and [South Korea] and will take necessary measures to maintain national strategic security as well as regional strategic equilibrium," Chinese Defense Ministry Sr. Col. Yang Yujun said last month in a report published Wednesday by The National Interest.

Yang's comment marked the first admission by Chinese defense officials that the secretive anti-missile system was being developed.

The system is a "revolutionary hypersonic strike vehicle that skims the upper atmosphere and can maneuver in a bid to defeat U.S. strategic defenses," the National Interest reports.

The question to Yang came after Chinese state media publicized a six-year-old flight test and intercept of a Chinese version of the U.S. ground-based, mid-course anti-missile defense system.

"To develop suitable capabilities of missile defense is necessary for China to maintain national security and improve defense capabilities," he said on July 28, according to the National Interest.

Subject: Mexico’s Vicente Fox Criticizes Trump, Forgets He Turned Blind Eye to Cartels

Posted: 02 Sep 2016 03:00 AM PDT

The visit to Mexico by U.S. Presidential Candidate Donald J. Trump has drawn sharp criticism from former Mexican President Vicente Fox, the same politician who allowed drug cartels to expand exponentially in size and power under his watch.

Since news of Trump's visit to Mexico began to spread, Fox has been openly criticizing the event, Trump and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto–even though he had previously invited the Republican candidate to visit, Breitbart News reported.

The criticism by Fox comes as Mexico continues to experience unprecedented levels of cartel violence that the Mexican government has not been able to address. This warring between rival cartel factions has resulted in almost daily large scale cartel gun battles, beheadings, dismemberments and other gory executions.

The cartel violence appears to not be a concern for Fox who, as Breitbart Texas previously reported, has called for Mexico to open negotiations with cartel leaders.

The comments made by Fox have rapidly earned him harsh criticism from Mexican citizens since the lack of a comprehensive security strategy by Fox during his term gave Mexican drug cartels six years to grow and expand with little to no opposition from authorities. The lack of action allowed drug cartels to develop and arm large armies of foot soldiers known for their ruthlessness, such as the Los Zetas drug cartel.
