What abandoned Olympic venues from around the world look like today Posted: 09 Aug 2016 09:00 PM PDT Cities around the world arestarting to question if hosting the Olympics is worth it. Most cities simply do not have the infrastructure required to withstand the two-week influx of athletes, coaches, fans, and media members. The money required tobuild state-of-the-art athletic facilities is skyrocketing, andacademic research suggestsspending billions on a two-week event is not a wise investment. In the worst-case scenario for host cities, Olympic venues go unused after the games and become white elephants — total wastes of space and money. We've seen this at a number of different Olympic sites around the world. Of course, the reasons this happens are specific to each country: Sarajevo, for example, suffered from a gruesome war that caused the 1984 Winter Olympic venues to crumble. Nevertheless, these photos from Reuters, Getty Images, and others have become symbolic of the downside of hosting the Olympics. More |
U.S. Shooting Team Roasts Piers Morgan Over Olympic Shooting Competition Tweet Posted: 09 Aug 2016 08:30 PM PDT After the United States won their first gold medal in the 2016 Olympics in Rio for a shooting event, Piers Morgan took to Twitter and trolled the U.S. shooting team for winning the event, only to have the team fire back at him. On Saturday, 19 year-old Ginny Thrasher won the United States' first gold medal of the Rio Olympics by winning the 10 meter air rifle competition. She beat out some of the heavily favored shooters in the competition from China, including the defending Olympic champion in the event. Piers Morgan trolled on Twitter saying that it was the "least surprising breaking news ever" that an American athlete won the first gold medal in a shooting competition. More |
Katie Ledecky was celebrating her world record before anyone else finished the race Posted: 09 Aug 2016 08:00 PM PDT Katie Ledecky, the 19-year-old American swimming prodigy, made a statement Sunday night in her first individual race at the Rio Olympics, winning gold and breaking her own world record in the 400-meter freestyle. Ledecky broke the record by two seconds and beat the second-place finisher by nearly five seconds. Plenty of photos show how dominant Ledecky's race was, whether it was her swimming in entirely open water or her leading comfortably ahead of the world-record mark. But the most illustrative example of her victory may have come at the end, when she was celebrating her world record and gold medal while other swimmers finished. More |
Soros-Fueled PAC Paying Salaries to Employees at Pro-Illegal Immigrant Group Posted: 09 Aug 2016 07:30 PM PDT A political action committee largely funded by liberal billionaire George Soros is paying salaries to employees at a pro-illegal immigrant group. The Immigrant Voters Win PAC was launched in March with the goal of registering 400,000 new Hispanic voters before the November elections. The PAC is a joint effort between numerous left-wing immigration activist groups as part of the larger "Families Fight Back" campaign organized in opposition to Republican politicians. The group has raised $4 million since its inception, according to the PAC's financial filings with the Federal Election Commission. More |
China Company Test Giant Bus That Drives over Cars Posted: 09 Aug 2016 07:00 PM PDT China unveiled the TEB-1, or Transit Elevated Bus. The giant "flying" bus, as some have called it, straddles two lanes of traffic and stands nearly 16 feet tall so that it can pass over cars on the roadway below. Every urban commuter laments the twice-a-day headache of traffic congestion and the often disappointing alternatives that mass transit offers. A Chinese company has officially rolled out one potential solution: the TEB-1, or Transit Elevated Bus. The giant "flying" bus, as some have called it, straddles two lanes of traffic and stands nearly 16 feet tall so that it can pass over cars on the roadway below. While still a long way from mass production, the TEB-1 could one day alleviate major traffic woes in China and other countries with crowded metropolitan areas. The concept of an elevated bus was first floated in 2010, and a model was debuted in May of this year, the New York Times reported. The company behind the project, TEB Technology, conducted a road test and opened its doors to prospective passengers in the Chinese city of Qinhuangdao on Tuesday, according to the Xinhua News Agency. EASTERN SHORE BUSINESS KEEPS MARITIME TRADITION ALIVE Posted: 09 Aug 2016 06:30 PM PDT Located on the Eastern Shore is the small quaint town of Oxford, where local family business Cutts & Case Shipyard recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. The family-owned business specializes in yacht building, repair, restoration and brokerage services. They are known for constructing custom wooden boats and their unique "Cutts" method, an innovative composite and fiberglass material construction that produces lighter and stronger boats than those with traditional wooden hulls. Cutts & Case once restored a boat previously owned by photographer Morris Rosenfeld in the 1920's. Rosenfeld was famous for his photographs that recorded the sport of yachting and he charmingly named his own boat "Foto." "The boat was actually found in a swamp around 10 years ago. Now, Foto sits in pristine condition at the shipyard," said Office Manager Mike Moore. "Ed Cutts Sr. fully restored the boat for his own use." Many customers of Cutts & Case keep their boats at the shipyard year-round. While most clients are from Maryland and the surrounding areas, some travel as far as California to enjoy a Maryland summer on the water. More |

State overrides voters: NJ orders town to spend $33 million on school upgrades for immigrants Posted: 09 Aug 2016 04:30 PM PDT FREEHOLD, N.J. – Voters in New Jersey's Freehold Borough twice rejected referendums to pay for $33 million in construction and other updates to accommodate the area's growing student population. Now state bureaucrats are over-riding their decisions. In both September and December, Freehold residents voted down the measure aimed at expanding the "severely overcrowded" Park Avenue Elementary, Middle School, and Learning Center with 22 new classrooms, RT.com reports. The proposal also would have funded a new gym and library at Park Avenue Elementary, as well as a cafeteria at the learning center. More |
DOJ Had 'Powerful Case' To Charge IRS Targeters Posted: 09 Aug 2016 04:00 PM PDT Recently released FBI interviews show the Department of Justice's failure to prosecute the Tea Party-targeting Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials was "patently ridiculous," Rep. Jim Jordan said. IRS officials across the chain of command knew for years that it was "extraordinarily inappropriate and dangerous" to send Tea Party tax exemption applications into a "black hole," FBI interviews recently released by Judicial watch show. IRS officials "suggested there was nothing unusual going on … but they stopped granting the tax exempt status to most conservative outlets," Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton told The Daily Caller News Foundation. "There's a powerful case," he continued. "There were false statements made under oath." More |

Believe TWA Flight 800 story? Pilots don’t Posted: 09 Aug 2016 03:00 PM PDT New evidence points to shootdown of airliner It's one of the greatest mysteries in American history. But the government conspiracy of silence surrounding the destruction of TWA Flight 800 is beginning to break down – thanks in part to two books on the subject by crusading journalist Jack Cashill. Years ago, Cashill wrote "First Strike: TWA Flight 800 and the Attack on America," focusing on the evidence supporting a terrorism conclusion. Now, his new followup, "TWA 800: The Crash, the Cover-up and the Conspiracy," brings the story up to date with shocking new details. In his latest, Cashill unearths the shocking government decision to create a cover story after TWA Flight 800 was destroyed shortly after takeoff on July 17, 1996. All 230 passengers were killed. Officially, the "accident" was caused by flammable vapors in a fuel tank, with the catalyst most likely a short circuit. But Cashill reveals new evidence confirming that at least two surface-to-air missiles destroyed the 747 in full view of thousands along the popular south coast of Long Island. And since the book's publication, more sources are coming forward to tell Cashill what they know. As one source told him, "I never knew where to turn before." More |
Md. transgender twins find public attitudes can lag behind law Posted: 09 Aug 2016 02:30 PM PDT WASHINGTON — For one set of Maryland twins, the simple act of finding a bathroom when out shopping or running errands is fraught with challenges. Teenagers Julian and Darrow are transgender boys; they were born female, but never felt at home in their own bodies and now identify as male. Asked what he does when he needs to use a public restroom, Julian laughs wryly and says, "I hold it until I get home." Or he looks for a unisex bathroom. But every time he's out in public, he has to make that calculation. His anxiety is based in the controversy that's raged across the country over the rights of transgender people, and incidents of violence directed against them. The dangers transgender people can face were spotlighted in 2011, when a transgender woman was attacked and beaten after using the ladies' room at a McDonald's in Maryland. An employee videotaped the beating and posted it online; the attack only ended when the woman suffered a seizure. More |
Latest Election Analysis: The Election Is Already Over and Trump Will Win in a Landslide Posted: 09 Aug 2016 02:00 PM PDT Despite the latest propaganda and rigged polls by the Democrat-Media Complex, it would be nearly impossible for a weak candidate like Hillary Clinton to win in November. The GOP has been Destroying Democrats in elections since 2009 When it comes to elections, the GOP has been faring better against Democrats over the last 7 years, than they ever have previously. In 2010, the GOP took back the House of Representatives with a 63-seat pickup, and also grabbed control of 29 of 50 governorships and gained 690 seats in state legislatures. Then in 2014, The Republicans won 16 seats from Democrats, while only three Republican-held seats turned Democratic. The Republicans achieved their largest majority in the House since 1928. Combined with the Republican gains made in 2010, the total number of Democratic-held House seats lost under Barack Obama's presidency in midterm elections rose to 77 with the 2014 midterms. Other than Barack Obama's unimpressive reelection against Mitt Romney in 2012, the Democrats have been losing every type of election imaginable to Republicans… More |

U.S. Trade Deficit Jumps 8.7 Percent to 10-Month High Posted: 09 Aug 2016 12:00 PM PDT MarketWatch reports that the U.S. trade deficit "jumped 8.7% in June to a 10-month high of $44.5 billion, reflecting the higher cost of oil and more imports of consumer goods such as cellphones and drugs." The deficit increased because imports rose by $227.7 billion, while exports were up only $183.2 billion, with particularly sluggish oil and new-car exports. The trade gap with China hit its highest mark since last November, thanks to heavy imports of "Chinese-made computers, cell phones, and clothing," per ABC News. On the other hand, U.S. exports to the European Union and United Kingdom were up. Reuters notes June was the third straight month to see an increase in the trade deficit. Economists predicted a much smaller deficit of $43.1 billion by the end of June, compared to the inflation-adjusted $64.7 billion that was realized. More |

Establishment Tries To Suppress "Dissident Actuaries" Explosive Report On Public Pensions Posted: 09 Aug 2016 11:00 AM PDT America's slow-motion public pension train-wreck (by some estimates, the shortfall currently exceeds $3 trillion) has been kept in motion for years by deeply dishonest accounting practices employed by state and local governments, which presume unrealistically that pension funds can consistently earn white-hot annual returns approaching eight percent. So it's disappointing, but not particularly surprising, that the actuarial establishment moved to suppress a report pointing this out. Pensions and Investments reports: The American Academy of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries Monday abruptly disbanded its longtime joint Pension Finance Task Force, objecting to a task force paper challenging the standard actuarial practice of valuing public pension plan liabilities. "This paper (is) being censored by the AAA" and SOA, said Edward Bartholomew, who was a member of the former task force, in an interview. "They didn't want it to get out." Others who were members of the task force also said in interviews the two actuarial groups are trying to suppress publication of the paper. There are powerful interests that don't want public pensions to be governed by the same kinds of accounting principles used in the private sector because… well, because if they were, public pensions would go from seriously underfunded to catastrophically underfunded. Officers Rescue Injured Boater; Arrest Three for Impairment Posted: 09 Aug 2016 10:30 AM PDT Maryland Natural Resources Police officers rescued an injured boater, arrested an impaired boater and driver, and won convictions in two fisheries cases over the past week. Quick action by an officer responding to a boating accident in Ocean City on Saturday helped save a man from bleeding to death. When officers arrived at the scene in Isle of Wight Bay at about 4 p.m., seven people were in the water around a rental pontoon boat that had run aground. One man was bleeding profusely from a gash on his arm created by the boat's propeller and another passenger was hanging onto a nearby moving boat. As rescuers gathered up those in the water, an officer saw the injured man struggling and recognized the wound as a severed artery. He applied a Combat Application Tourniquet to staunch the flow until the victim could be taken ashore. Ocean City first responders took him from Bahia Marina to Atlantic General Hospital for treatment. Seth Murray Wilson, 21, of Millsboro, Del., the operator of the boat, was arrested after he failed field sobriety tests. He refused a breathalyzer test. A court date has not been set. #### A Pennsylvania man was arrested for drunk driving Sunday after an officer on patrol in Garrett County noticed erratic behavior.John Joseph Wilson, 26, of North Huntingdon, stopped for an extended period at a flashing red light on Route 219 in McHenry, signaled a left turn and then turned right, drove on a raised portion of the road separating turn lanes and crossed over the yellow center line. Wilson failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer test. He was charged with two counts of impaired operation and one count of failing to drive right of the center line. A court date has not been set. If found guilty of all charges, Wilson could be fined as much as $2,500. ##### Kirk John Bittel, 36, of Pittsburgh, was stopped near the Glendale Bridge after an officer saw a passenger hanging off the stern of a moving boat, trying to grab a loose rope. Bittel failed field sobriety tests and registered a blood alcohol content of .10 on the breathalyzer test; the legal limit is .08. He is scheduled to appear in Garrett County District Court on Oct. 19. #### A St. Mary's County man had his commercial oyster license revoked after he was convicted last Thursday of harvesting oysters from polluted waters. Andrew Phillip Nelson, 20, of Hollywood, was charged in May with catching oysters from St. Inigoes Creek off the St. Mary's River, an area closed to harvesting by the Maryland Department of the Environment. Officers on saturation patrol saw Nelson hand tonging in the headwaters of the creek and intercepted him as he returned to shore. They seized 11 bushels of oysters. In addition to revoking Nelson's commercial license, a St. Mary's County District Court judge sentenced Nelson to three year's unsupervised probation. #### A Baltimore County waterman was convicted last Wednesday of seven charges in connection with illegal yellow perch fishing in the Gunpowder River. John James Messenger, 40 of Middle River, was cited in March after officers found illegal fyke nets in Foster Branch and Joppatown Canal. In addition, they found that Messenger was violating the terms of a department pilot program to tag and track commercial catches. A Harford County District Court judge found Messenger guilty of two counts of having a net set more than one-third of the width of a waterway, one count of failing to have his identification number on his vessel, two counts of not marking his nets, one count of setting his nets in a restricted area and one count of failing to comply with the terms of the Fishing Activity and Catch Tracking System. Messenger was fined $850. |

Dear Hillary: DNC Hack Solved, So Now Stop Blaming Russia Posted: 09 Aug 2016 09:53 AM PDT Hillary Clinton has tried to save herself from her latest email scandal with rhetoric that poses a dangerous threat to our democracy and even world peace. This new email scandal is the Wikileaks release of a gaggle of DNC emails that prove the Democrat primary race was rigged in establishment Hillary's favor. She's tried to make herself the victim once again, blaming the Russians and—bizarrely—Donald Trump for the hack that set the emails free. I have some news for Hillary and Democrats—I think I've got the real culprit. It doesn't seem to be the Russians that hacked the DNC, but instead a hacker who goes by the name of Guccifer 2.0. The original Guccifer famously hacked Hillary's home email server, you might remember. More |

World Vision Charity Caught Up in Hamas Funding Controversy Posted: 09 Aug 2016 09:37 AM PDT (CNSNews.com) – World Vision said Thursday it was "shocked" to hear allegations that a senior staff member in Gaza diverted millions of donors' aid dollars to Hamas for terrorist activity. The international Christian charity finds itself under an uncomfortable spotlight after facing accusations of anti-Israel bias for years. In response to Israel's criminal charges against its Gaza operations manager Mohammed el-Halabi, World Vision said its programs are subject to regular internal and independent audits and other controls, aimed at ensuring the aid reaching the intended recipients. According to a court indictment filed Thursday, Halabi was recruited into Hamas' military wing in 2004 and tasked to infiltrate World Vision. Tens of millions of dollars in aid, sent from the U.S. and Europe, had allegedly been siphoned off and used by Hamas for weapons and to build tunnels used by the terrorist group to carry out cross-border attacks, it said. Halabi was arrested by the Shin Bet security agency while crossing the Israel-Gaza border on June 15. At the time, World Vision described him as a "widely respected and well regarded humanitarian." Federal Officials Seek To Stop Social Media Abuse Of Nursing Home Residents Posted: 09 Aug 2016 09:30 AM PDT Federal health regulators have announced plans to crack down on nursing home employees who take demeaning photographs and videos of residents and post them on social media. The move follows a series of ProPublica reports that have documented abuses in nursing homes and assisted living centers using social media platforms such as Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram. These include photos and videos of residents who were naked, covered in feces or even deceased. They also include images of abuse. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which oversees nursing homes, said in a memo to state health departments on Friday that they should begin checking to make sure that all nursing homes have policies prohibiting staff from taking demeaning photographs of residents. The memo also calls on state officials to quickly investigate such complaints and report offending workers to state licensing agencies for investigation and possible discipline. State health departments help enforce nursing home rules for the federal government. "Nursing homes must establish an environment that is as homelike as possible and includes a culture and environment that treats each resident with respect and dignity," said the memo signed by David Wright, director of the CMS survey and certification group. "Treating a nursing home resident in any manner that does not uphold a resident's sense of self-worth and individuality dehumanizes the resident and creates an environment that perpetuates a disrespectful and/or potentially abusive attitude towards the resident(s)." Iran Ransom Payment: President Obama Broke the Law by Sending Cash to Iran Posted: 09 Aug 2016 09:23 AM PDT The president hoped to camouflage what he knew to be against the law. Did it ever occur to President Obama to ask why he couldn't just cut a check to the Iranian regime? Outrage broke out this week over the revelation that Obama arranged to ship the mullahs piles of cash, worth $400 million and converted into foreign denominations, reportedly in an unmarked cargo plane. The hotly debated question was whether the payment, which the administration attributes to a 37-year-old arms deal, was actually a ransom paid for the release of American hostages Tehran had abducted. It is a waste of time to debate that point further. The Iranians have bragged that the astonishing cash payment was a ransom — and Obama has been telling us for months that we can trust the Iranians. The hostages were released the same day the cash arrived. One of the hostages has reported that the captives were detained an extra several hours at the airport and told they would not be allowed to leave until the arrival of another plane — inferentially, the unmarked cargo plane ferrying the cash. The reason American policy has always prohibited paying ransoms to terrorists and other abductors is that it only encourages them to take more hostages. And, as night follows day, Iran has abducted more Americans since Obama paid the cash. No matter how energetically the president tries to lawyer the ransom issue, if it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck . . . |
"Sell Everything"... But Why: What Has The Smartest Investors So Spooked? Posted: 09 Aug 2016 09:15 AM PDT Many of the smartest investors out there hate stocks. Since May, we've heard negative equity calls from Stan Druckenmiller, George Soros, Carl Icahn, Jeff Gundlach and Bill Gross. Wall Street lore says "Never argue about markets with a guy who is much richer than you". So we'll take the discussion in a different direction: what do they know? Successful investors are always more plugged in than the market as a whole – hence their success. And while we can only guess at the lynchpins of their negative take on stocks, we do have some idea of how significant they must be. For example, in 2016 the S&P 500 is up 5.9% on a price basis after 1) the Brexit "Leave" vote, 2) dramatically disappointing Q1 and Q2 U.S. GDP, 3) a correction of 20% in oil prices, 4) a Fed that has incorrectly calibrated its public stance on monetary policy, 5) Donald Trump as the Republican candidate for president, and 6) the U.S. 10 Year Treasury at near record low yields. None of that has been enough to spook U.S. equity markets. So whatever the big boys think they know, it must be really bad. But what is it, and why is it so hidden from view? Much More |
3 bishops rip Biden for officiating ‘same-sex marriage’ Posted: 09 Aug 2016 09:07 AM PDT Say 'Catholics must oppose' such unions because of moral confusion WASHINGTON – Three U.S. bishops condemned Vince President Joe Biden for officiating at a same-sex wedding because it causes confusion over church teaching and "the corresponding moral obligations of Catholics." "Questions revolving around marriage and human sexuality are deeply felt in our homes and communities," said the bishops. "We join with our Holy Father Pope Francis in affirming the inviolable dignity of all people and the church's important role in accompanying all those in need. In doing so, we also stand with Pope Francis in preserving the dignity and meaning of marriage as the union of a man and a woman." Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, was joined by two USCCB chairmen in writing a blog post about Biden presiding at a same-sex wedding of two longtime White House aides Aug. 1. No, Trump didn't kick that baby out of the rally Posted: 09 Aug 2016 09:00 AM PDT Donald Trump didn't actually kick a baby out of a rally this week in Virginia, according to the eyewitness report of a journalist sitting nearby and the mother of the baby herself. In a widely-circulated video that spurred headlines criticizing the GOP nominee, Trump was seen saying first that he loved the baby who had begun to cry during his rally, then just a minute later saying that the mother should "get the baby out of here." "I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I'm speaking," Trump said. But Daniel Dale, a reporter for the Toronto Star sitting behind the crying baby in question, said the mother was never asked to leave and that the entire episode was Trump's sense of humor being blown out of proportion. The mother was already on her way out when Trump made his second statement. "One minute later, though, the baby began to cry again. This time, the mother quickly decided to take the baby out of the room. Trump, looking in our direction, appeared to notice that she was on her way to the exit," Dale wrote. More here |

Maryland's Tax-Free Week Key Time For Buyers, Businesses Posted: 09 Aug 2016 08:30 AM PDT HAGERSTOWN (AP) -- Consumers can save money by shopping during Maryland's Tax-Free Week, and the time has turned into a critical period for retailers, too. "Back-to-school shopping season is easily our second-busiest time of year after holiday shopping," Angie Riford, director of marketing and business development for Hagerstown Premium Outlets, wrote in an email. "We look forward to Tax-Free Week every year because of the extra savings we can offer our shoppers." Tax-free week, approved by the Maryland General Assembly in 2007, is conducted annually on the second week in August. This year, it falls a little later in the calendar than usual, on Aug. 14 to 20. During the week, any single, qualifying article of clothing or footwear priced at $100 or less, no matter how many items are purchased at the same time, will be exempt from the state's 6 percent sales tax, according to the state comptroller's office. "A break on the cost of clothing and shoes can make a real difference and help stretch family budgets," Comptroller Peter Franchot said in a news release. "Local retailers also benefit with increased foot traffic." More |

According to the Canton Repository, the man was killed when he attempted to remove the first of the Yukon's wheels and the vehicle came off the jack, falling on his head. The dealership, Ron Marhofer Buick GMC in Canton, Ohio, remained open for hours the next day, with the man's body not being discovered until about noon. A sales associate noticed the body of the 44-year old when a vehicle that was blocking it drove away. More |
Kaine Unable To Answer For Hillary’s Email Lies Posted: 09 Aug 2016 08:00 AM PDT Democrat vice presidential candidate says Hillary apologized for her mistake Tim Kaine, Hillary Clinton's vice presidential nominee, on Sunday was unable to answer when questioned if the former secretary of state lied to the American public about sending classified information via email. After playing a montage of Hillary Clinton and FBI Director James Comey that for all intents and purposes indicated that Clinton lied to the American public, host of NBC's "Meet the Press" Chuck Todd said, "[Clinton] seems to be conflating what she said to the FBI and what she said to the American public. Can you conclude here whether or not Secretary Clinton lied to the American public about sending and receiving classified email?" "Chuck, let me just say this, I'm going to jump right to the punch line," Kaine claimed. "I heard Hillary Clinton say over and over again when I've been sitting next to her and when I've watch her on TV that with respect to the emails, I made a mistake and I've learned something and I wouldn't do it again and I've heard her apologize." Who Really Cut the $6.1 Million for Aging Maryland Schools? Posted: 09 Aug 2016 07:30 AM PDT As I mentioned on yesterday's episode of The Air Raid, the Maryland State Teachers Association and Maryland's Pinocchio-in-Chief State Senator Rich Madaleno are haranguing Governor Larry Hogan for what they seem to think is Governor Hogan's refusal to spend $6.1 million on the Aging Schools Program. The facts of course show something entirely different. As it always does, the State Budget was sent to a conference committee. The conference committee consisted of four Democrats and one Republican from both the House and the Senate. On page 4 of the conference committee report, you clearly see the $6.1 million for the Aging Schools Program deleted from the Governor's allowance and moved into the restricted category. This was done by the Democrats. This was not done by Larry Hogan. Read more |

Giuliani: ‘Short-Circuit’ Is Hillary’s ‘Euphemism For Lying’ Posted: 09 Aug 2016 07:00 AM PDT Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani blasted Hillary Clinton on Sunday for her "short-circuit" defense for sending classified emails suggesting, "maybe short-circuit is her euphemism for lying." Appearing on ABC's "This Week, Giuliani said, "That — you know, she short-circuited? That was a heck of a comment." "I mean, first of all, she lied. She didn't short-circuit. She lied last week when she said the FBI found that she'd hadn't lied. You read Comey's report, he found she lied in about eight different places. So maybe short-circuit is her euphemism for lying." "But I don't know, did she short-circuit when she didn't protect the Benghazi compound, when she got 20 requests for more help?" he asked. More/Video |
Trump pollster: 'There's a big hidden Trump vote' Posted: 09 Aug 2016 06:53 AM PDT They're not exactly the Nixon era "silent majority," but both Republican and Democratic pollsters claim that there is a secret vote for Donald Trump showing up in some polls. The Trump campaign on Sunday stated flatly there is a "big hidden Trump vote" in the nation. And during the recent Democratic convention, a top pollster agreed, saying there is a "secret Trump vote." Longtime Republican pollster and Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway explained on the Today show that the hidden vote is seen when anonymous online polls are compared to phone call interview polls where people have to be more public in stating who they support. Police Union in Trouble over 'Black Labs Matter' Photo Posted: 09 Aug 2016 06:45 AM PDT A San Francisco union representing the city's police officers is being criticized for publishing an ad in the August issue of its monthly newspaper, showing one black and one white Labrador retrieved, each holding up signs that read "Black Labs Matter" and "All Labs Matter." The sign is being criticized as an insult to the Black Lives Matter movement. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the picture appeared on the back of the San Francisco Police Officers Association Journal and was accompanied by a plea from the union asking for calm after months of animosity between the Black Lives Matter movement and police forces. The ad read "Maybe it's time we all just sit back and tone down the rhetoric…" More |
CNN Panel Blasts Clinton On Her Email Scandal And Trust Issues Posted: 09 Aug 2016 06:37 AM PDT A CNN panel Sunday put Hillary Clinton on blast as they discussed her email scandal and trust issues that loom over her presidential campaign. Prior to the panel's discussion, CNN's John King recapped the last week of Clinton trying to put her email scandal to rest by playing a couple of clips of Clinton responding to questions regarding her honesty in cooperating with the FBI and telling the truth to the American people. Last Sunday, she told Fox News host Chris Wallace that FBI Director Jim Comey said that her answers on the email scandal were "truthful." Following this interview, the Washington Post's Fact Checker, Glenn Kessler, gave her "Four Pinocchios" on this statement, its worst rating for dishonesty. Clinton then admitted on Friday at an address to the National Association of Black and Hispanic Journalists that she may have "short-circuited" in her previous responses regarding questions on the email scandal and that she would clarify in the future. After playing the clips, King signaled the panel to help him analyze Clinton's statements. "Help me. Help me," King joked. More |
Maybe it's not always people leaving food out. Posted: 09 Aug 2016 06:30 AM PDT Below are 2 posts from last year scolding people for leaving food out. Assateague needs more dumpsters so that the horses can't get into the trash that responsible people are throwing away. Click photo to enlarge We've been seeing a lot of this lately, and quite frankly, it's alarming. Why on Earth are horses eating plastic bags? It's simple: people are not properly storing their food. Like dogs, horses are opportunists and will take advantage of a free meal. Their digestive systems are not made to digest processed foods, meats and certainly not plastic bags. While it may be humorous to watch as a horse tears open a bag to get at what's inside, that food and associated packaging can cause severe diarrhea and intestinal blockage as the horse tries to digest it. Both of these conditions can cause severe pain or even death. So what can be done to prevent that from happening? We need to take food storage seriously and be vigilant it. Here are some helpful tips: *Whenever possible, leave food in your vehicle. *If you must take food out onto the beach, make sure it is in a zippered bag or other container that the horses can't rip open or easily toss around to dump food out. *If you bring a cooler, secure it closed with a nylon strap. *If you are camping, store your food in your vehicle and only bring it out when you are about to use it. *Do not store your cooler under a picnic table. Horses have learned to drag out coolers and open them. *Never leave food unattended at your campsite or on your beach blanket. |
Will Anthony Weiner Live at the White House? Posted: 09 Aug 2016 06:23 AM PDT With Hillary Clinton now favored to win the White House, attention turns to her likely policies, appointments, and aides. Her long-suffering assistant and adviser, Huma Abedin, may be moving into the White House, according to one unsubstantiated report last year. That raises the question: what will her husband, former U.S. Representative and New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, do? Will he live at the White House — and what role might he have in a potential Clinton administration? Since we are told by the Clinton-loving media that Russian president Vladimir Putin would be President Donald Trump's live-in lover, such questions seem long overdue. More |
"Is Robot Hillary Melting Down?" - Trump Video Mocks Clinton As A Short-Circuiting Robot Posted: 09 Aug 2016 06:15 AM PDT Following Hillary Clinton's inexplicable Friday afternoon verbal meltdown, in which she admitted that she may have "short-circuited" following claims made in recent interviews that FBI Director James Comey said she was "truthful" about her use of a private email server as secretary of state, we said that "her word choice of "short-circuiting" confirms what many voters in this election feel about Hillary: her answers are memorized, poll tested and scrutinized by hundreds of staffers, almost in a robotic fashion, to ensure she does not "bend" the truth. This is why Hillary does a press interview every 240 days at best." More to the point, we said the real question is whether Trump can keep his mouth shut long enough to give Hillary more chances to stick her foot in hers, and do to her own polling what Trump has been so eager to do to his over the past two weeks. To our surprise, not only has Trump managed to do just that, but is now gladly providing "robotic" Hillary with even "more rope", as the Khan scandal dies down and attention reverts to Hillary's verbal, and according to Trump mental, "short-circuiting." A new video released overnight by the Trump campaign mocks Hillary Clinton as a malfunctioning, "short-circuiting" robot, an obvious reference to her perplexing Friday quote, which Hillary will have a tough time overcoming. "Is robot Hillary melting down," the video, posted by Trump on his Facebook page Saturday, asks. More/Video |

Multiple staffers help unstable Hillary up stairs Posted: 09 Aug 2016 06:00 AM PDT The questionable health condition of Hillary Clinton should be a major issue of the 2016 campaign. The latest evidence comes in the form of Clinton being helped up a set of stairs by multiple individuals outside what appears to be a home. The photos, published by Reuters and Getty, show the 68-year-old candidate with aides holding her arms as she ascends the stairs. |

Posted: 09 Aug 2016 05:30 AM PDT Yearning to breathe free or yearning to breathe sharia? Regardless, the Obama administration has fast-tracked some 10,000 Syrian refugees into the United States. Or rather, 10,000 more. Those that are already here will be permitted to stay and apply for benefits that normally go to actual citizens. Same deal for newer arrivals. Not all are Syrian, the number includes Afghans and Somalis, among others, but most are men, men without women, between the ages of 18 and 45. Liberals call it a humanitarian gesture. Trump and other conservatives call it "a great Trojan Horse." "We don't know who they are," says Trump. No, we don't. Our culture of mom, baseball and apple pie is teetering under the hijab. Entire neighborhoods are being bought up with Saudi money. "We don't know their intentions." True. However, we do know that over the years Syria was never a friend of Israel or of the United States. We know that when it was time to chant "Death to Israel" and when it was time to burn the American flag, Syrians were among the first to join the performance. There is no doubt that eventually they will be given a path to citizenship, which means a path to vote. More |
Brexit was nothing compared to what's coming Posted: 09 Aug 2016 05:00 AM PDT The last two months alone have seen Britain leaving the European Union, terror attacks, cop killings, Deutsche Bank nearly collapsing, the German long term interest rates set at negative, to name a few. But over the next couple of years, it's going to get a whole lot worse. As economies worsen, there will be more social unrest, more angry people, and crazier politicians. Somebody will try to come along on a white horse to save us all, but she usually makes it worse. Are we at a point right now where it feels like it's accelerating. People all over are very unhappy about what's going on. If you read history, there are a lot of similarities between now and the 1920s and '30s. That's when fascism and communism broke out in much of the world. And a lot of the same issues are popping up again. Brexit could be a triggering moment. This is another step in an ongoing deterioration of events. It's also an important turning point because it now means the central banks are going to print even more money. That may prop the markets up in the short term. More |
Ahmed ‘Clock Kid’ Mohamed Returns to Texas, Family Files Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit Posted: 09 Aug 2016 04:30 AM PDT The lawsuit, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, alleges that Ahmed Mohamed's civil rights under the U.S. constitution were violated by the Irving Independent School District, Principal Daniel Cummings "in his individual capacity" and the City of Irving. Mohamed was led out of MacArthur High School in September after school officials mistook the teenager's homemade clock for a bomb. "These acts by the authorities show blatant disregard for the civil rights of this American," according to Mohamed's lawyer, Susan Hutchison, KTVT-TV reported. "The only justice we have in our American legal system is money, so we are suing for justice," Hutchinson added, without specifying an amount. More |
