Trump Promises Safety, Appeals to African Americans

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 09:00 PM PDT

Donald Trump spoke about the violent riots that have plagued the country during a speech on law and order in West Bend, Wisconsin on Tuesday, promising safety for all Americans and appealing to African Americans.

"Law and order must be restored…it must be restored for the sake of all, but most especially for those living in the affected communities," Trump stressed. "The main victims of these riots are law abiding African American citizens living in these neighborhoods."

"Crime and violence is an attack on the poor and will never be accepted in a Trump administration," Trump vowed.

"The war on our police must end and it must end now," Trump demanded, blaming the narrative against police on Democrats and Hillary Clinton, whom he called the "personification of special interest corruption."

"A vote for her is a vote for another generation of poverty, high crime, and lost opportunities," he jabbed.

"I believe all Americans, not just the powerful, are entitled to security…Hillary Clinton has had her chance. She's failed at so many things — almost everything she's done. Now, it's time for new leadership," Trump declared, saying it's the government's duty to keep citizens safe.

Fatal crash

A Salisbury man died Saturday evening on Truitts Landing Road in the Girdletree area of Worcester County.

The Worcester County Sheriff's Office Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the fatal crash of Charles Parks, 54, who was allegedly traveling fast and approaching Boxiron Road when the car began to spin out of control before hitting a tree.

Police reported the driver's door suffered the worst of the damage and Parks was not wearing a seat belt during the collision.

A passenger, Sarah Davis, 31, of Salisbury, was wearing a seat belt and was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment before being released.

Police believe speed and drug use may be factors in the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Worcester County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit at 410-632-1113.

Is Psychoanalyzing Our Politicians Fair Game?

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 07:00 PM PDT

Introduction

Psychiatry imposes on itself a unique kind of self-censorship. It's called the "Goldwater rule," because it came about after a 1964 magazine poll of psychiatrists about the Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. The basic idea is that psychiatrists shouldn't give clinical opinions about politicians. The rule makes sense in some ways, but not in others. In this article, I'm going to suggest where it's helpful and where it only adds to the problem of inappropriate and discriminatory psychologizing.

At the outset, let's be clear about one thing: Much of this debate is rooted in discrimination against psychiatric disease, a bias that is not only immoral but also false. What if having a psychiatric condition made you more fit to lead, rather than unfit? Think of Abraham Lincoln's melancholy and Winston Churchill's manic-depression.[1]

By emphasizing how dangerous it is for psychiatrists to diagnose public figures, and rendering it "unethical," we psychiatrists are accepting and feeding into the public's discrimination against psychiatric illness. In fact, research[1] shows that manic symptoms enhance creativity and resilience, and depressive conditions increase realism and empathy. Manic-depressive leaders, I've argued, can be our best leaders. But risks also exist.

Thus, the debate about the Goldwater rule needs to happen, I would suggest, in the context of being clear that having a psychiatric diagnosis is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it can have positive aspects.

T-Mobile phasing out data limits _ but will you save money?

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 06:30 PM PDT

NEW YORK (AP) — T-Mobile is phasing out data limits and pushing people toward unlimited data plans — which will mean higher prices for many new customers.

Although T-Mobile is cutting the price of the unlimited plan, those who haven't been using that much data might eventually pay more for unlimited data they don't need.

T-Mobile's announcement Thursday comes a day after AT&T said it would raise prices on some plans while giving customers more data. Verizon made a similar move last month.

The wireless industry has become increasingly competitive over the past few years given that most people already have smartphones. Carriers have had to reduce prices to lure customers from rivals and have tried to make up the revenue by selling larger data plans.

Hillary Clinton's Foreign Policy Failures: A Recent History

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 06:00 PM PDT

On Monday, fifty Republican national security veteransreleased a letter saying that none of them will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump. They said in their letter that Trump would be a "dangerous President" on foreign policy and national security.

Monday also marked the 2-year anniversary of the war launched by the U.S. against Islamic State. NBC recently released a map showing the global expansion of Islamic State, showing how the U.S. policy to defeat them clearly has failed.

According to NBC:

U.S. State Department documents indicated that in 2014, when the U.S. military began its campaign to destroy the extremists, there were only seven nations in which the fledgling state was operating. A map from the National Counterterrorism Center shows the worldwide expansion of ISIS as of August 2016. By 2015, according to the State Department's own numbers, there were nearly double that — 13 countries. The current briefing map shows 18 countries where ISIS is fully operational. The map also displays a new category — "aspiring branches" — and lists six countries where they're taking root: Egypt, Indonesia, Mali, the Philippines, Somalia and Bangladesh.

FDA issues safety alert for popular hair care product over hair loss complaints

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 05:30 PM PDT

WASHINGTON -- Two years ago, 11-year-old Eliana Lawrence was worried she would be bald forever.

"I was scared I wasn't going to get my hair back."

Her mother Miriam says Eliana went nearly bald after using a WEN by Chaz Dean hair care product, which has celebrity endorsements and boasts of stronger, fuller hair.

But not for Eliana, says her mom.

"I noticed that her hairbrush was overflowing with hair. I'd never seen her brush in that condition before."

The FDA began investigating the company after reports of hair loss, balding and rashes. Last month, the agency took the rare step of issuing a safety alert after learning the company had received 21,000 complaints.

Hillary is being propped up by a pillow, and it's hardly the first time this has happened. In fact, the former secretary of state used to include propping cushions on her list of demands during her lucrative time on the paid celebrity speaking circuit.
According to the Washington Post, for one speech at UCLA, a public university that she graciously offered a discounted rate of $300,000, Hillary demanded that "chairs be outfitted with two long, rectangular pillows — and that two cushions be kept backstage in case the chair was too deep and she needed additional back support."

Obama's 'Response' To Louisiana Flooding VS How Bush Responded To Katrina In 2005

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 04:30 PM PDT

Nearly 11 years following Hurricane Katrina, much of Louisiana is once again under water following recent unprecedented rain fall - the worst natural disaster in the past 7 years. Scores of Americans have died and over 40,000 family homes have flooded and been evacuated.

Like Katrina, the enormity of the disaster has overwhelmed federal and local entities, leaving rescue and response to heroic citizens in the "cajun navy."

Here's how President Bush reacted to Hurricane Katrina and how President Obama is reacting today today. Both Presidents vastly differed in their responses -- and in the responses they have received.

Police: Man laughed as daughter baited, killed seagulls on beach in Rehoboth

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 03:45 PM PDT

REHOBOTH BEACH, DE (WTXF) - Police in Rehoboth Beach arrested a Canadian man for endangering the welfare of a child, after he allegedly let his daughter bait and kill a seagull on the beach.

Officers were called to the beach near Wilmington Avenue around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, after Beach Patrol received complaints about a girl trying to hit seagulls with a shovel.

Witnesses told police that the girl was placing food in a hole in the sand in order to lure the seagulls to land. Once they tried to land, the witnesses say the girl would swing a plastic shovel.

One seagull was hit with the shovel and was killed. Officers located the seagull in a nearby trashcan, where they say the girl's father, Christian Lesieur, discarded the bird.

Lesieur, 48, laughed as his 13-year-old daughter attempted to hit the seagulls according to witnesses, and was drinking alcohol when contacted by police.

Sussex County’s affordable housing need shifting to rental

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 03:30 PM PDT

GEORGETOWN — Times have changed and so might Sussex County's focus on affordable housing.

"The need in the county has shifted from home ownership to rental," says Sussex County's Housing Coordinator & Fair Housing Compliance Officer Brandy Nauman. "So we kind of need to update this program so that it properly reflects the current market conditions."

In a presentation to county council July 26, Ms. Nauman offered proposed changes to the current Sussex County Rental Program ordinance.

Those changes include:

  • Reducing required affordable unit set-aside from 15 percent/40 percent to a flat rate of 12.5 percent of total units;
  • Setting fixed rental rates for each bedroom-size based on 50 percent of the average median income;
  • It must serve households making 80 percent AMI or below.

Ms. Nauman explained by setting fixed rental rates "developers and tenants know exactly what the price of each unit. So a one bedroom has a fixed rate; two bedrooms has a fixed rate

Three "Red Flags" That The US Housing Slowdown Is Accelerating

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 03:00 PM PDT

One month ago, we showed three prominent "red flags" that the US housing market was starting to roll over.

Among these were a report by real-estate advisory RealtyTrac, which cited by Bloomberg, said that "almost nine years after the housing-market bust helped trigger the most recent recession, RealtyTrac senior vice president Daren Blomquist sees the industry waving a red flag." He was referring to house flipping by third party investors at auction which was back with a vengeance, and what's worse, the share of foreclosures snapped up by inexperienced mom-and-pop buyers at auction had hit a record 31% in June. As he said, "this a redux of the same fervent speculation that pushed the housing bubble."

The second warning came as a result of the latest sharp decline in spending on furniture and home goods stores, which according to Bank of America credit and debit card spending data, showed that the yoy drop had reached the lowest since the recession period. As BofA said then, "this shows that consumers have delayed spending on housing-related items, which could be a sign of weakness for the housing market."

The third red flag was revealed in the then-latest Credit Suisse survey of real estate agents: "Our Buyer Traffic Index took a sizeable step back in June, slipping to 41 from 52 in May, indicating traffic levels decidedly below agents' expectations.... Prospective buyers also continue to be deterred by a persistent shortage of affordable inventory across markets, with agents frequently highlighting buyer pushback to rising home prices. On the other hand, agents repeatedly mentioned that low mortgage rates were crucial to supporting demand."

* * *

Fast forward one month and we find that the adverse trends observed in early July have gotten progressively worse, and we can now add one more.

First, as we showed last week - and correctly warned that last Friday's retail sales report would disappoint - the latest "BofA Internal Card Data Shows Significant July Spending Slowdown" showed in addition to another broadly week month of consumer spending, that "we are seeing a continuation of the theme that we flagged in last months' report – sales at home improvement and home goods stores are weakening based on the BAC card data. After a brief gain last month, sales at home improvement stores tumbled in July, leaving sales down 3.4% yoy. Sales at home goods stores continue to weaken as the yoy rate reached a new cyclical low in July. We see a similar weak trend with sales at furniture stores." As BofA said last week, this would be a key advance indicator that the US housing recovery has stalled.

Cost Jumps Nearly 500-Percent For Life-Saving EpiPens

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The costs are dramatically rising for a life-saving drug millions of people with severe allergies depend on.

For 1 in 13 kids in the U.S., the risk of allergic reactions lurks around every kitchen pantry. But the cost of the life-saving drug to buy previous minutes has jumped nearly 500 percent.

For the Henegar family, EpiPens have become part of daily life.

"It's just a fear that we live in kind of all the time. Every time we leave the house… do you have your EpiPen?" said Justin Henegar, father.

Two of their six kids, Cora and Ellie, have severe allergies. Each of their EpiPen fanny packs holds a life-saving dose of the drug.

Md. authorities warn public after string of deadly boating accidents

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 01:30 PM PDT

WASHINGTON — Maryland has seen four boating deaths this week alone and it has officials reminding the public about being safe on the water.

"No. 1 and I can't stress this enough: wear a life jacket," Candy Thomson, Maryland Natural Resources Police spokeswoman, told WTOP. "I don't care if you are Michael Phelps. If you slip from a boat, if you hit your head, if you are incapacitated in any way, you're not going to be in a position to help yourself."

With the recovery of the body of a missing boater, Thursday morning near Baltimore, the death total on Maryland waterways is now up to 12.

"The one thing that sticks out last year and this year is the number of victims who were not wearing life jackets," said Thomson. Every person who has died on a Maryland waterway this year was not wearing a life jacket, she added.

COVE ROAD BEACH ADVISORY STILL IN EFFECT

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 01:05 PM PDT

(Salisbury, MD) - Cove Road Beach, located in Bivalve, MD, is still under an advisory due to elevated bacteria levels. These elevated levels are typically seen after prolonged periods of heavy rainfall. It will be re-sampled Monday and results will be available Tuesday afternoon.

Children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with a weakened immune system are most likely to get sick from swimming in contaminated water. They are also most likely to become seriously ill from exposure to waterborne illnesses.

Exposure to bacteria, viruses, and parasites in contaminated water can cause symptoms and diseases ranging from ear, nose, and eye infections to diarrhea, vomiting, hepatitis, encephalitis, skin rashes, and respiratory illnesses. You can reduce your risk of getting sick by following these tips:

 Pay attention to contamination and advisory warnings and stay out of polluted water.

 Avoid swimming at beaches after heavy rainfall.

 Stay out of murky or foul-smelling water.

 Avoid beach water if you have an open wound or infection.

 Swim without putting your head under water.

Roaring Point Beach does not have elevated bacteria levels.

Poll: Three out of five Texans support secession if Hillary becomes president

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 01:00 PM PDT

If anyone needs proof that the presidential race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton truly is dividing the country, they should look to Texas.

According to poll results from Public Policy Polling released Tuesday, three out of five Texans who support Donald Trump said they would support seceding from America if Hillary Clinton becomes president.

Data from the left-leaning polling firm shows that Trump leads Clinton by a margin of 50 percent to 44 percent in Texas. This is far from the landslide win for Mitt Romney in the 2012 election. Four years ago, Romney beat President Barack Obama 57.2 percent to 41.4 percent.

According to the polling results from PPP, only one out of four Texans support seceding from America generally. But when faced with the possibility of a President Hillary Clinton, a majority of Trump supporters said they'd rather leave.

MSP Troopers Commended for Lifesaving Actions

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 12:45 PM PDT

(North East, MD) – Maryland State Troopers from the North East Barrack are being commended for their heroic actions after rescuing several elderly residents from a burning apartment complex.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. last night a fire started on the second floor of the Victoria Park Apartments, 520 S. Main Street, North East, MD. The apartment is a 55+ retirement community. Troopers immediately responded to assist the North East Police and North East Fire Department.

Upon arrival, Troopers observed the building ablaze and billowing smoke. Numerous elderly residents were struggling to escape. At great personal risk, and without protective apparel or breathing apparatus, six Maryland State Troopers entered the burning building to search for survivors. They were able to locate five residents who were unable to evacuate and physically carried the five residents to safety before returning to search for more victims. Troopers continued searching the building until they were assured all residents had been evacuated. Members of the North East Fire Department then took over the scene and began fighting the fire.

As a result of their bravery, no lives were lost in the fire and only minor injuries were sustained. Waiting for emergency equipment to arrive may have led to a far more tragic outcome for the elderly residents. All six Maryland State Troopers have been nominated for Life Saving awards for their selfless actions.

Baltimore fires city lawyer with neo-Nazi ties

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 12:30 PM PDT

BALTIMORE —City Hall fired a lawyer hired to defend police against misconduct allegations. It happened after a Southern Poverty Law Center investigation exposed attorney Glen Allen as longtime supporter of a Neo-Nazi group and a racist organization.

City officials maintain Allen was fully vetted. What they missed is especially surprising since the city remains at the center of a national debate over police violence.

"None of the historical facts and alleged facts recently publicized about Mr. Allen's political views and affiliations were disclosed or discussed when his contract was agreed to. The law department does not, as a general practice, question its hired or contract attorneys about their political views," the mayor's office said in a statement.

Allen has a history of supporting the neo-Nazi National Alliance. He told the New York Daily News he distanced himself from the group back in the '80s.

America to hand off Internet in under two months

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 12:00 PM PDT

The Department of Commerce is set to hand off the final vestiges of American control over the Internet to international authorities in less than two months, officials have confirmed.

The department will finalize the transition effective Oct. 1, Assistant Secretary Lawrence Strickling wrote on Tuesday, barring what he called "any significant impediment."

The move means the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, which is responsible for interpreting numerical addresses on the Web to a readable language, will move from U.S. control to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, a multistakeholder body based in Los Angeles that includes countries such as China and Russia.

Critics of the move, most prominently Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, have pointed out the agency could be used by totalitarian governments to shut down the Web around the globe, either in whole or in part.

Republican senators' reception in Ocean City draws a ton of Democrats

It might have shocked some Marylanders to see Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller, a man reviled by many Republican voters, hanging out and schmoozing at a reception thrown by GOP senators.

But it didn't surprise anyone familiar with the way Miller has done business in his 30 years of leading that chamber. And to Miller, there was no better place to be that at the Ropewalk Tavern in Ocean City, where politicians from around the state are gathered for the annual convention of the Maryland Association of Counties.

"There are 14 Republican senators," said the leader of the 47-member Senate. "They're an important part of our Senate family."

FEMA Reps Roasted Over Costly Flood Map Error In Ocean City; ‘Disagreement’ Between City, Feds Still Being Worked On

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 10:30 AM PDT

OCEAN CITY — What began as an overview on new federal flood insurance policies on Tuesday turned into a roast of sorts of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) representatives as an increasingly frustrated segment of resort property owners whacked with exorbitant premiums lashed out at an apparent flaw in the agency's maps.

Last July, FEMA issued new flood insurance rate maps for the Town of Ocean City that recognized the value of the dune system constructed by the Army Corps of Engineers by locating the VE Flood Zone, or the most onerous flood insurance rate designation, "seaward of the landward toe of the primary frontal dune system." In simpler terms, FEMA concluded the eastern edge of the long-established dune line should be the line of demarcation of sorts for the higher flood insurance rates and any properties west of the primary dune would fall into a lesser flood zone designation.

However, in a few areas of the resort, particularly along condo row from 93rd to 123rd streets, FEMA determined through its new maps an existing secondary dune, built in front of several oceanfront properties in the early 1980s is now the standard by which the VE Flood Zone is determined. As early as 1983, the town mandated certain new oceanfront projects construct a dune in front of the properties to protect them somewhat from storms, coastal flooding and beach erosion.

Sonnie Johnson: Trump Speech Laid Out ‘What Democrats Have Done to the Black Community Over the Last Sixty Years’

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 10:00 AM PDT

On Wednesday's edition of Breitbart News Daily, podcaster Sonnie Johnsonsaid she was "yelling and screaming" during Donald Trump's speech in Wisconsin on Tuesday night, because "it felt like a speech that I could have written, that I would have given, that I've given so many times, in front of so many audiences."

Johnson said Trump's speech targeted what "Democrats have done to the black community over the last sixty years," and laid things out more plainly, and boldly, than previous Republicans have dared to attempt.

"To have it laid out, to have it addressed, to not have it skirted over, to not have it bathed in welfare talk, and poverty talk, but actually to have it, to inspire black people that America is your country, and you deserve to have the greatness and richness thereof in it – I was over the moon last night! Congratulations, Donald Trump! Thank you!" she declared.

Donald Trump on the Move: His Two Strongest Speeches of the Campaign

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 09:37 AM PDT

Sometimes, the Main Stream Media can surprise you.

In a string of tweets, CBS News' Major Garrett offered guarded praise for Donald Trump's speech on Tuesday night in Milwaukee. As Garrett put it:

Having been listening [to Trump's speeches] since August 2015, [this was] objectively best drafted and best delivered @realDonaldTrump speech of the campaign. Will resonate.

Even for those who don't necessarily trust the MSM—though it's worth remembering that Garrett worked at Fox News for years and, before that, The Washington Times—his assessment is hard to argue with: Will resonate.

Reacting to the same speech, the always astute Byron York wrote in The Washington Examiner:

Trump delivered a focused, powerful, and disciplined speech Tuesday night in West Bend, Wis., about 45 minutes north of Milwaukee. Trump focused largely on problems that disproportionately afflict black Americans, arguing that his proposals on crime, immigration, trade, jobs, education, and other issues will improve African-American lives more than Hillary Clinton's.

Continuing, York added:

Calling the recent riots in Milwaukee "an assault on the right of all citizens to live in security and live in peace," Trump won applause with the declaration that "Law and order must be restored."

Yes, "law and order" has been a winning issue for Republicans for half a century—and Democrats know it.

Know your rights: Panel outlines what civilians should do in police encounter

LANDOVER, Md. — What are the proper procedures that civilians should follow during an encounter with police?

For many people, these procedures are not always clear, and they're not widely taught, which is why Maryland state Sen. Victor Ramirez hosted a "Know Your Rights" forum this week at Eastern Community Church in Landover, Maryland.

The forum's panelists included Carlos Acosta, inspector general for Prince George's County police; Eric Broyles, attorney and author of "Encounters With Police: A Black Man's Guide to Survival"; Prince George's County police Capt. Jason Fisher; Glenn Ivey, former Prince George's County State's Attorney; and David Rocah from the American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland.

Some of the advice they gave to those who might have encounters with police officers included:

  • Comply now, contest later
  • Always file a complaint if you think you were mistreated by an officer
  • File that complaint within a year starting from the time of the incident
  • Turn the lights on inside the car and roll down the windows if you're pulled over while driving
  • To end the encounter, ask: "Am I being detained, or am I free to go?"
  • Record your encounter — it's your right

'I Did Not Find the School That I Deserved': Refugees Sue Pa. School District

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 09:28 AM PDT

Six refugees are suing a Pennsylvania school district, claiming they were dumped in a disciplinary school and are being denied access to a quality education.

The students, who range in age from 17 to 21, are from Somalia, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Burma.

They had hoped to enter McCaskey High School in Lancaster, Pa., but were sent to Phoenix Academy, an alternative high school for "underachieving" students in the district.

The refugee students, who are being represented by the Pennsylvania branch of the American Civil Liberties Union, also claim to have been "traumatized" by security measures at Phoenix Academy, including pat-downs and property searches.

"[The] Plaintiffs are refugees who have fled war, violence, and persecution from their native countries," the lawsuit says. "Having finally escaped their turbulent environment to resettle in America, these young immigrants yearn to learn English and get an education so they can make a life for themselves."

Obama Lied: New Details Confirm $400 Million Given To Iran Was Indeed Hostage Ransom

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 09:23 AM PDT

For the self-described "most transparent administration ever" it appears keeping the lies straight is becoming harder and harder. Having slammed the press, Donald Trump, and anyone who dare mention the "lack of logic" in paying a $400 million ransom for 4 Iran hostages, WSJ reports that Treasury officials have confirmed that Obama lied and in fact, the tightly scripted exchange of cash was specifically timed to the release of several American prisoners held in Iran. Trump was right again.

As a reminder, The Hill reported that, President Obama chastised the press for their coverage of the payment, noting that the deal with Iran was announced months ago as part of a larger diplomatic settlement.

"This wasn't some nefarious deal," Obama said.

"It's been interesting to watch this story surface," the president said. "Some of you may recall, we announced these payments in January. Many months ago. There wasn't a secret, we announced them to all of you."

"What we have is the manufacturing of outrage on a story that we disclosed in January," he added later.

"The notion that we would somehow start now in this high-profile way, and announce it to the world, even as we're looking in the faces of other families whose loved ones are being held hostage and say to them, 'we don't pay ransom,' defies logic," Obama said.

Defies logic indeed - because having slammed the press for suggesting this was a "ransom payment," we discover that is exactly what The Justice Department warned...

There Is A Line!!

There is a war being waged in America, but only one side is fighting. The progressives, or Marxists, or outright Communists have been waging war against middle America, using every diabolical means available, for decades, perhaps a century, but middle America is too busy just trying to survive to bother with them. Like the day when Barack Obama declared ISIS to be the Junior Varsity team, middle America considers this war being waged on them as insignificant to their lives, too distant and too petty. Yes, some useless and pathetic residual guilt is responsible for some of their acquiescence.

Yet, the Marxists have taken ground steadily, pushing and shoving against the pillars of traditional American culture until they have begun to rattle the foundations. Still, middle America shrugs at these advancements, hopefully ignoring them, waiting for something to cause the Marxists to give up. But, they will never give up. They are not stronger than middle America, but they are more persistent and right now, they are aided by every structure of government, the media, entertainment, sports figures, or so it seems. We will never really know the truth, because we get information from the media and they are liars.

The media covers up for crimes, preferring the lies of omission to the truth of objective reporting. That is all really up to them, but they have become nothing other than Baghdad Bob, who proclaimed to Iraqi television that there was nothing amiss in Baghdad while American tanks rolled in the street behind him. That is our media today and like Baghdad Bob, they are covering for their leaders: Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. They sound as ridiculous as he did and are as transparent.

In decades hence, the media will be forced to wear the shame they should feel today, but that is another post for another day.

Soros Paid Al Gore MILLIONS To Push Global Warming Policies

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 09:07 AM PDT

Liberal billionaire George Soros gave former Vice President Al Gore's environmental group millions of dollars over three years to create a "political space for aggressive U.S. action" on global warming, according to leaked documents.

A document published by DC Leaks shows Soros, a Hungarian-born liberal financier, wanted his nonprofit Open Society Institute (OSI) to do more to support global warming policies in the U.S. That included budgeting $10 million in annual support to Gore's climate group over three years.

"U.S. Programs Global Warming Grants U.S. Programs became engaged on the global warming issue about four years ago, at George Soros's suggestion," reads a leaked OSI memo.

Giuliani Applauds Trump Speech As Best In History

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 09:00 AM PDT

The former mayor of New York dismissed widespread criticisms that GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump lacks substantive policy proposals during a Wednesday appearance on "Fox & Friends."

"I mean, those two speeches were the two most substantive, I would say historic, speeches that any presidential candidate has made in a very long time," former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani told the hosts.

The praise comes in the wake of Trump's national security speech at a campaign event in West Bend, Wisc., just a few miles outside Milwaukee, which was shaken by riots following a black police officer shooting and killing an armed black assailant Saturday.

The candidate slammed his Democratic opponent, calling on black voters to "reject the bigotry of Hillary Clinton," who he believes "panders to and talks down to communities of color and sees them only as votes."

The Federal Reserve’s Cycle of Monetary Insanity (and Treason)

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 08:53 AM PDT

In 2008; the central bankers of the West went berserk with their monetary crimes. Interest rates were driven to near-zero. Money-printing was driven to near-infinity, as represented by the Bernanke Helicopter Drop.

As a condition for engaging in monetary policies which were more insane (i.e. more criminal) than anything ever done in our economies; the central bankers promised an immediate Exit Strategy, in early 2009: thenormalization of interest rates and the normalization of money-printing. Through the middle of 2016; we're still waiting.

The question, never asked by media drones, and never answered by the criminal central bankers is this. If near-zero interest rates (and now "negative" rates) along with exponential money-printing make our economies stronger, why weren't we doing this 100 years ago? Why haven't we always engaged in such policies, like we permanently engage in such policies now? It's because you cannot build any economy through monetary chicanery.

Economies are built exclusively upon sound fiscal policies, and the first and most important principle of sound fiscal policy is that monetary policy can never be allowed to dominate fiscal policies. Look again at the Bernanke Helicopter Drop above. Look at all the decades (starting at the far left) when the U.S. economy was genuinely prosperous. The money supply was a flat line. Monetary policy was only a minor influence on the economy.

Clinton Campaign Cites Fake Documents to Claim Hillary Health Questions Are "Debunked"

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 08:37 AM PDT

Classic straw man hoax designed to distract attention from the real evidence

Hillary's Clinton's campaign is citing fake documents to assert that questions surrounding her ill health are "debunked" conspiracy theories.

The problem with that narrative is that no serious commentator who raised questions about Hillary's health ever used the fake documents as evidence.

As the Washington Post reports, Hillary's campaign sent reporters an article from FactCheck.org entitled "Fake Clinton Medical Records" which debunks the authenticity of a "leaked" document circulated on Twitter that claims to be from Lisa Bardack, Hillary's personal physician.

Pocomoke residents call for curfew

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 08:30 AM PDT

Following a melee in the area of Fourth and Laurel Streets in Pocomoke City on July 29 that resulted in two arrests and one deployed Taser, residents of the neighborhood asked the mayor and City Council this week to institute a curfew in town.

"We need the support of citizens" to enact a curfew, and "the entire council would like to support" such action, Mayor Bruce Morrison said.

Each member of the council nodded in agreement with Morrison's statement made during the Monday night meeting of mayor and City Council.

The issue has come up before, Morrison continued, but was stymied because of complaints made by the American Civil Liberties Union.

"There are ways to make it work, but you need a lot of exceptions," City Manager/City Attorney Ernie Crofoot said.

Undocumented Immigrant Carjack 91-Year-Old Kansas City Woman

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 08:23 AM PDT

A 25-year-old illegal alien who already has a felony on his criminal record has been arrested in Kansas City, Mo. after allegedly carjacking two women — ages 91 and 63 — on Tuesday.

Eduardo Irhneis Escobar was charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action, according to KCTV.

Police say that the illegal alien approached the women, who are black, while they were sitting in a 1998 Honda Civic in a Walgreen's pharmacy parking lot.

After a brief struggle with the 63-year-old woman, who was driving the car, Escobar took control of the vehicle. "Get the fuck out!" he yelled at the women.

The USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times "Daybreak" poll tracks about 3,000 eligible voters until election day, asking on a regular basis about their support for Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump or other candidates as well as their likelihood of actually casting a ballot.

We update the data each day based on the weighted average of poll responses over the previous week. That means results have less volatility than some other polls, but also means the poll lags somewhat in responding to major events in the campaign. More about the poll.

Julian Assange Is Making Good On His Promise To Snitch On US Spooks

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 08:00 AM PDT

The breach of an elite NSA-linked hacking unit dubbed the Equation Group, which exposed a number of cyber weapons used by US spooks, Julian Assange's WikiLeaks who has come to terms with the fact that his idea of extortion for $550m has miserably failed and gone down the toilet, is now claiming he will publish a 'pristine' version of the hacked data online for the world to see.

The cyber-espionage toolset, which was first teased online by a mysterious group calling itself The Shadow Brokers, contains what purports to be NSA exploits previously used by the agency to target computers, firewalls and routers. After releasing one file as proof of legitimacy, the hackers opened an auction and demanded one million bitcoin — the equivalent of at least $550m – to hand over the rest.

Yet now, WikiLeaks, the infamous leaking website founded by Julian Assange, has waded into the story and indicated it now plans to release the alleged NSA data in full. However, it remains unknown how or when the group got hold of such sensitive information.

"We had already obtained the archive of NSA cyber weapons released earlier today and will release our own pristine copy in due course," the WikiLeaks Twitter account published on 16 August. The organization did not respond to a request for comment regarding when the data would be made public.

EPA Won't Say If Biofuels Are Hurting The Environment

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 07:53 AM PDT

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials are ignoring a federal law requiring them to report to Congress and the public whether biofuels are helping or harming the environment, a government watchdog reported Thursday.

The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) program "is a national policy that requires a certain volume of renewable fuel, also known as biofuel, to replace or reduce the quantity of petroleum-based transportation fuel," EPA inspector general (IG) official Jim Kohler said in a podcast.

"It was created with the intent to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and expand the nation's renewable fuels sector while reducing reliance on imported oil," said Kohler, who is an environmental engineer. But the EPA never completed studies that would show whether biofuels are actually reducing greenhouse gases or otherwise helping the environment.

Forgoing these reports "impedes EPA's ability to identify, consider, mitigate and make policymakers aware of any adverse impacts of biofuels," Kohler said. "EPA, Congress and other stakeholders lack key information on biofuel impacts needed to make science-based decisions about RFS and U.S. biofuel policy."

“Caitlyn” Jenner’s TV show Has Been Canceled

The former patriarch of Hollywood's biggest famewhore family tried to break out on his own after announcing he was a transgender woman named Cait. A reality show quickly followed — because, of course — but ratings weren't great. And now, after just two seasons, the show has been canceled.

From the Mirror:

Following the decision made on Tuesday, Caitlyn took to Twitter to say she's ready for the "next adventure" and thanked her friends for their support on the series.

"After 2 amazing seasons of #IAmCait, it's time for the next adventure," she wrote. "Thank you E! & thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for!

While an E! spokesperson said: "We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of I Am Cait, a groundbreaking docu-series that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs

"Caitlyn and E! have mutually decided not to move forward with another season at this time. She will always remain a part of the E! family, and we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears on Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

Wanted: Volunteers to be infected with Zika - amid desperate bid to find a cure as Florida's outbreak spreads

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 07:30 AM PDT

US researchers are appealing for healthy people to be deliberately injected with Zika.

It is part of a desperate bid to find a cure for the mosquito-borne virus as it spreads in Florida, the only place with local infections in mainland America.

As of Thursday, there were 35 people being treated for Zika caught from local mosquitoes in Miami and Palm Beach, with the figure rising every day.

If government regulators give approval to the medical team in Baltimore, Maryland, they hope to infect thousands of nonpregnant people with the virus.

They will then watch them and track how their bodies react.

Jan Brewer: Arizona won't go blue for 'lying killer' Clinton

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 07:23 AM PDT

Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) this week called Hillary Clinton a "lying killer" and insisted her state wouldn't vote for the Democrat in November's presidential election.

"The people want a fighter. They're tired of the lying killer, uh, Hillary Clinton and Bill Clintons of the world," Brewer said in an interview on KTAR News that was highlighted by Mediaite.

Brewer argued that Democrats may be helping the state's economy by spending heavily on advertisements there but that it wouldn't help them politically. She predicted GOP nominee Donald Trump would air just a few ads.

"I don't think that they can win Arizona," the Trump supporter said of Democrats.

Trump and Clinton are essentially tied in the state according to the RealClearPolitics polling average.

A CBS News/YouGov poll earlier this month found Trump 2 points ahead, a closer contest than in many other states where Clinton has pulled far ahead in recent weeks.

Tim Kaine: Bill Clinton should have resigned over Monica

Hillary's VP pick weighed in on cheating politicians in 2002 interview

(DAILY BEAST)
Bill Clinton should have resigned over the Monica Lewinsky scandal—at least, that's a view Tim Kaine once held.

Kaine's remark—reported 14 years ago in the Richmond Times-Dispatch in the aftermath of a state-level sex scandal—hasn't drawn any attention thus far in the 2016 presidential cycle. But it suggests Hillary Clinton's running mate at one point harbored reservations about the integrity of the man poised to become the country's first first gentleman.

Kaine commented on the Lewinsky scandal in 2002, when allegations of sexual harassment had rocked the Virginia House of Delegates. The speaker of the house, Vance Wilkins, was a Republican power broker who had just helped his party flip the House and build its majority after Democrats had historically controlled the chamber.

Bill Clinton's loving wife...

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 06:53 AM PDT

By Dick Morris former political adviser to President Bill Clinton.

If you happen to see the Bill Clinton 5-minute TV ad for Hillary in which he introduces the commercial by saying he wants to share some things we may not know about Hillary's background, beware. As I was there for most of their presidency and know them better than just about anyone, I offer a few corrections.

Bill says: "In law school, Hillary worked on legal services for the poor."

The facts are: Hillary's main extra-curricular activity in law school was helping the Black Panthers, on trial in Connecticut for torturing and killing a federal agent. She went to court every day as part of a law student monitoring committee trying to spot civil rights violations and develop grounds for appeal.

Bill says: "Hillary spent a year after graduation working on a children's rights project for poor kids."

The facts are: Hillary interned with Bob Truehaft, the head of the California Communist Party. She met Bob when he represented the Panthers and traveled all the way to San Francisco to take an internship with him.

Bill says: "Hillary could have written her own job ticket, but she turned down all the lucrative job offers."

The facts are: She flunked the DC bar exam; yes, flunked. It is a matter of record, and only passed the Arkansas bar. She had no job offers in Arkansas - none - and only got hired by the University of Arkansas Law School at Fayetteville because Bill was already teaching there. She did not join the prestigious Rose Law Firm until Bill became Arkansas Attorney General and was made a partner only after he was elected Arkansas Governor.

Bill says: "President Carter appointed Hillary to the Legal Services Board of Directors and she became its chairman."

The facts are: The appointment was in exchange for Bill's support for Carter in his 1980 primary against Ted Kennedy. Hillary then became chairman in a coup in which she won a majority away from Carter's choice to be chairman.

Bill says: "She served on the board of the Arkansas Children's Hospital."

The facts are: Yes, she did. But her main board activity, not mentioned by Bill, was to sit on the Walmart board of directors for a substantial fee. She was silent about their labor and health care practices.

Bill says: "Hillary didn't succeed at getting health care for all Americans in 1994, but she kept working at it and helped to create the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) that provides five million children with health insurance."

The facts are: Hillary had nothing to do with creating CHIP. It was included in the budget deal between Clinton and Republican Majority Leader Senator Trent Lott. I know; I helped negotiate the deal. The money came half from the budget deal and half from the Attorney Generals' tobacco settlement. Hillary had nothing to do with either source of funds.

Bill says: "Hillary was the face of America all over the world."

The facts are: Her visits were part of a program to get her out of town so that Bill would not appear weak by feeding stories that Hillary was running the White House. Her visits abroad were entirely touristic and symbolic and there was no substantive diplomacy on any of them.

Bill says: "Hillary was an excellent Senator who kept fighting for children's and women's issues."

The facts are: Other than totally meaningless legislation like changing the names on courthouses and post offices, she has passed only four substantive pieces of legislation. One set up a national park in Puerto Rico . A second provided respite care for family members helping their relatives through Alzheimer's or other conditions. And two were routine bills to aid 911 victims and responders which were sponsored by the entire NY delegation. Presently she is trying to have the US memorialize the Woodstock fiasco of 40 years ago.

Here is what bothers me more than anything else about Hillary Clinton: She has done everything possible to weaken the President and our country (that's you and me!) when it comes to the war on terror.

1.   She wants to close GITMO and move the combatants to the USA where they would have access to our legal system.

2.   She wants to eliminate the monitoring of suspected Al Qaeda phone calls to/from the USA .

3.   She wants to grant constitutional rights to enemy combatants captured on the battlefield.

4.   She wants to eliminate the monitoring of money transfers between suspected Al Qaeda cells and supporters in the USA .

5.   She wants to eliminate the type of interrogation tactics used by the military & CIA where coercion might be used when questioning known terrorists even though such tactics might save American lives.

One cannot think of a single bill Hillary has introduced or a single comment she has made that would tend to strengthen our country in the War on Terror. But, one can think of a lot of comments she has made that weaken our country and make it a more dangerous situation for all of us. Bottom line: She goes hand in hand with the ACLU on far too many issues where common sense is abandoned.

Walmart’s Out-of-Control Crime Problem Is Driving Police Crazy

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 06:37 AM PDT

Darrell Ross—"Officer Walmart" to his colleagues in the Tulsa Police Department—operates for up to 10 hours a day out of the security office of a Walmart Supercenter in the city's northeast corner. It's a small, windowless space with six flatscreen monitors mounted on a pale blue cinder-block wall, and on this hot summer day, the room is packed. Four Walmart employees watch the monitors, which toggle among the dozens of cameras covering the store and parking lot, while doing paperwork and snacking on Cheez Whiz and Club Crackers. In a corner of the room, an off-duty sheriff's officer, hired by Walmart, makes small talk with the employees.

As soon as Ross walks in the door, around 2 p.m., he's presented with an 18-year-old who tried to leave the store with a microwave oven. Ross focuses his gaze and talks in a low voice to the young man, who just graduated from high school and plans to go into the military. He also attempts to calm the boy's mother, who rushed to the store and is worried that her son won't be able to enlist if he gets a criminal record. "You need to start taking responsibility for your actions," Ross tells the teenager. "You're a man now." He tells the mother that because it was the boy's first offense, he won't be arrested—but if he messes up twice more, he'll be charged with a felony. Ross slips a pair of reading glasses out of his bulletproof vest and writes the young man a summons to appear in court.

Police reports from dozens of stores suggest the number of petty crimes committed on Walmart properties nationwide this year will be in the hundreds of thousands. But people dashing out the door with merchandise is the least troubling part of Walmart's crime problem. More than 200 violent crimes, including attempted kidnappings and multiple stabbings, shootings, and murders, have occurred at the nation's 4,500 Walmarts this year, or about one a day, according to an analysis of media reports.

Maryland officials weigh whether Pokemon Go is a public safety hazard

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 06:30 AM PDT

Maryland's political leaders gather every August to discuss the most pressing issues in governance; this year Pokemon Go is on the agenda.

The augmented reality game that has sent people exploring neighborhoods, congregating in public places and distractedly "hunting" digital creatures also creates a public policy conundrum for local governments. Armed robbers have preyed on preoccupied Pokemon hunters. In Baltimore, an engrossed player sideswiped a parked police cruiser while staring at his cell phone.

"There's an awful lot of questions that have burst on the scene about this game and the trend that it represents," said Michael Sanderson, executive director of the Maryland Association of Counties. "There's a real public policy dimension here. What does it mean for your liability? What does it mean for public safety?"

NASA says MASSIVE earthquake is '99.9 per cent' likely to rock LA

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 07:58 AM PDT

A HUGE earthquake is 99.9 per cent likely to hit Los Angeles within the next two years, scientists from NASA have said.

The group's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena have warned a series of mini-tremors beneath the surface of the City of Angels have caused pressure to build-up.

In 2014, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit the town of La Habra in southern California and the experts from NASA say that there is still some left over strain from that, which will almost definitely hit before April 2018.

JPL geophysicist Dr Andrea Donnellan said: "When the La Habra earthquake happened, it was relieving some of that stress, and it actually shook some of the upper sediments in the LA basin and moved those a little bit more.

"There's enough energy stored to produce about a magnitude 6.1 to 6.3 earthquake."

Lies, deception and bullying at Hillary Clinton rally in West Philly

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 06:15 AM PDT

How Donald Trump might have seen today's voter registration event in a battleground state

They recited the Pledge of Allegiance at 11:55 a.m. on Wednesday. Five minutes later, the nattily-dressed lapdog media members traveling with the Hillary Clinton campaign took fancy computers out of their Hermes bags and started typing the type of nonsense to which we've become accustomed this presidential-election cycle.

They were given front-row press-box seats and high-end tacos and sandwiches for lunch as their award for obeisance.

As I sat there watching them "work," I figured they were typing about how rap-music maker "Freeway" talked bad about Donald Trump, and was high on the disastrous Obamacare debacle on the candidate's behalf. As if he had a choice. If Antonio Sabato Jr. taught us anything, it's thatcelebrities risk getting blacklisted if they don't follow orders.

The crowd at West Philadelphia High School was much smaller than the crowd at any Donald Trump rally, which you wouldn't know because the media refuses to report about that kind of important thing (For more, see Alex Jones' seminal work on that topic via this link).

Those selected to serve as campaign props were under the perpetual gaze of an army of blue-shirted "volunteers," who took down people's names and contact information and handed them socialistic "Pennsylvania Together" stickers.

VA’s Army Of Bored Interior Designers Can’t Keep Their Hands Off Brazilian Wood

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 06:07 AM PDT

A Republican congressman is going after the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for having almost 200 full-time interior designers.

House Committee on Veterans' Affairs Chairman Jeff Miller thinks the designers are a significant factor in the troubled agency's penchant for wasting tax dollars, and offering inadequate care to veterans

The Florida Republican — who has devoted much of his tenure as chairman to exposing waste, fraud and abuse in the VA — points to boondoggles like the department's newest hospital in Aurora, Colo.

The Aurora facility inexplicably went more than $1 billion over budget, and the contractor walked off the job, blaming VA mismanagement. The hospital, which won't be completed until 2018, features a glass concourse the size of a football field. Plans included imported Brazilian wood, $10 million in landscaping, and 70-foot-high glass walls.

Hillary, Trump, and War on Russia

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 06:00 AM PDT

Don't look for a walk-over. The T14 Armata, Russia's latest tank. You don't want to fight this monster if you can think of a better idea, such as not fighting it. Russia once made large numbers of second-rate tanks. That worm has turned. This thing is way advanced and outguns the American M1A2, having a 125mm smoothbore firing APFSDS long rods to the Abrams 120mm. (As Hillary would know, that's Armor-piercing, fin-stabilized, discarding sabot. You did know, didn't you, Hill?) This isn't the place for a disquisition on armor, but the above beast is a very advanced design with unmanned turret and, well, a T34 it isn't. (I was once an aficionado of tanks. If interested, here and here.)

A good reason to vote for Trump, a very good reason whatever his other intentions, is that he does not want a war with Russia. Hillary and her elite ventriloquists threaten just that. Note the anti-Russian hysteria coming from her and her remoras.

Such a war would be yet another example of the utter control of America by rich insiders. No normal American has anything at all to gain by such a war. And no normal American has the slightest influence over whether such a war takes place, except by voting for Trump. The military has become entirely the plaything of unaccountable elites.

Roger Stone: Saying Trump 'in Bed with Putin' is a 'Conspiracy Theory' - While Clinton 'Does Paid Errands' for Russian Oligarchs

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 05:53 AM PDT

On Thursday's Breitbart News Daily, Roger Stone said it wasn't conspiracy-mongering paranoia to ask about Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin's ties to radical Islamist organizations.

"No conspiracy theory – this is really simple," Stone explained. "Her parents were funders of the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs, also active in the World Muslim League – both funded by the radical sheikh Omar Abdul Naseef, who also founded the Rabita Trust, identified by the Department of Justice as one of the funders of the attack on America on 9/11. Those are indisputable facts."

When SiriusXM host Alex Marlow pointed out the the Left is looking for opportunities to label Clinton critics as purveyors of conspiracy theories, Stone responded, "I'll give you a conspiracy theory: Donald Trump and Paul Manafort are in bed with Vladimir Putin. Nowthere's a conspiracy theory!"

Secret Service Leaks Hillary’s Health to Press

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 05:30 AM PDT

Hillary Clinton apparently suffers from Parkinson's or a similar disease and experiences seizures from flashing lights, such as camera flashes at press conferences, the Secret Service told Infowars.

Additionally, the federal government has reportedly spent nearly a quarter-million dollars to add handicap steps on government vehicles because Hillary struggles with balance, a fact already established by a Reuters photo showing two men helping Hillary up stairs.

The revelations explain her odd, epileptic behavior on camera and why she avoids press conferences in general.

Her health is deteriorating badly; over the past several months Hillary has suffered several seizures and near-comatose freeze-ups during speeches which, combined with her previous blood clot, concussions and severe coughing fits, reveal she's hiding serious medical issues that jeopardize her ability to hold public office.

It's Time To Abolish The DEA And America's "War On Drugs"

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 05:23 AM PDT

Addiction and drug use are medical/mental health issues, not criminalization/imprisonment issues.

It's difficult to pick the most destructive of America's many senseless, futile and tragically needless wars, but the "War on Drugs" is near the top of the list. Prohibition of mind-altering substances has not just failed--it has failed spectacularly, and generated extremely destructive and counterproductive consequences.

What was the result of the Prohibition of alcohol in the 1920s? Prohibition instantly criminalized 40+% of the adult populace and created hugely profitable criminal organizations.

What was the result of the "War on Drugs"? This modern-day Prohibition instantly criminalized large swaths of the adult populace and created hugely profitable criminal organizations.

If you want to increase drug use, criminalize innocent citizens and spawn gargantuan criminal organizations, then by all means declare "war" via Prohibition. The results of Prohibition/War on Drugs are so visibly perverse and so destructive that the entire enterprise is sickeningly Orwellian.

Princeton HR department: Don't use word 'man'

Posted: 19 Aug 2016 05:07 AM PDT

The Princeton University HR department has largely wiped the word "man" from its vocabulary.

The relatively new policy in effect at the Ivy League institution spells out the directive in a four-page memo that aims to make the department more gender inclusive.

Instead of using "man," employees are told to use words such as human beings, individuals or people.

Other guidelines? Instead of "man and wife" use spouses or partners. Switch out "man made" with artificial, handmade or manufactured. Don't use the verb "to man," as in to work something, instead use to operate or to staff. Throw out workmanlike and replace it with skillful.

The memo goes on to list a variety of occupations that typically include the word "man" in them and offers replacements: business person instead of businessman, firefighter instead of fireman, ancestors instead of forefathers, and so on.
