And now Texit: Texans consider seceding after Brexit — especially if Donald Trump loses election

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 09:00 PM PDT

Everything is bigger in Texas. Maybe even Brexit.

After the United Kingdom voted Thursday to leave the European Union, a group of Texans are pushing for a Texas exit, or Texit — the Lone Star State's chance to break free from the U.S. and its federal government.

The Texas Nationalist Movement is urging the state to hold a Brexit-style referendum over the possibility of Texas seceding from the rest of the country.

"It is now important for Texas to look to ‪#‎Brexit as an inspiration and an example that Texans can also take control of our destiny," the group's president, Daniel Miller, said in a late night Thursday statement, shortly after America's ally across the pond voted to leave its transcontinental bloc. "It is time for Texans to rally with us and fight for the right to become a self-governing nation."

Obama Responds To Maryland Sheriff “You Will Be First To Surrender Your Gun” - Departed

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 03:09 PM PDT

"As long as I'm sheriff in this county I will not allow the federal government to come in here and strip my citizens of their right to bear arms. I can tell you this, if they attempt to do that it would be an all out civil war, no question about it," states Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis.

Sheriff Lewis states he's been carrying a gun almost since he could walk, whether it be in hunting or in the course of his job as sheriff. He adamantly states that guns are not a problem at all for law abiding citizens. It is surely his actual experience with guns that gives him his realistic, non-fear-based point of view on our Second Amendment, it is his integrity that makes him defend it.

Those are 2 characteristics too often lacking in law enforcement these days. Sheriffs are, of course, elected, so they are generally more in line with our Constitution. All other law enforcement are borne of a legislative process.

After This Obama Responded "You Will Be First To Surrender Your Gun".

Ex-Clinton official got Boeing bucks while pushing Iran nuke pact – before $25B jet deal

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 08:30 PM PDT

A former top Clinton administration diplomat who used his political sway to garner support for the Iran nuclear deal apparently was being bankrolled the entire time by Boeing -- which is set to make billions off a jet deal with Tehran now that sanctions have been lifted.

Thomas Pickering, who also served as co-chairman of the board examining the Benghazi attack response, publicly pushed for the nuclear deal before its approval last year. He did so by penning op-eds, writing to high-level officials and even testifying before Congress.

With the deal in place, Boeing has since moved forward on a $25 billion deal with Iran Air made possible by the nuclear agreement.

While Pickering never denied being on Boeing's payroll during the talks, he didn't regularly disclose it either, according to a new report in The Daily Beast. And that's the problem, transparency advocates say.

"In Pickering's case, he has a direct connection to Boeing, which I think should be disclosed," Neil Gordon, an investigator for the Project on Government Oversight, told The Daily Beast. "I think it's necessary for the public debate. It's necessary for the public to fully realize the participants' financial interests. Some of them might have a direct financial stake in a particular outcome."

Has Trump Found The Formula?

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 08:00 PM PDT

Stripped of its excesses, Donald Trump's Wednesday speech contains all the ingredients of a campaign that can defeat Hillary Clinton this fall.

Indeed, after the speech ended Clinton was suddenly defending the Clinton Foundation against the charge that it is a front for a racket for her family's enrichment.

The specific charges in Trump's indictment of Clinton: She is mendacious, corrupt, incompetent and a hypocrite.

"Hillary Clinton … is a world-class liar," said Trump. She faked a story about being under fire at a Bosnia airport, the kind of claim for which TV anchors get fired. She has lied repeatedly about her email server.

She lied to the families of victims of the Benghazi massacre by implying the atrocity was a spontaneous reaction to an anti-Islamic video, not the premeditated act of Islamist terror she knew it to be.

Drop "world-class" and Trump's case is open and shut.

His second charge: "Hillary has perfected the politics of personal profit and theft" and "may be the most corrupt person ever to seek the presidency."

Particulars?

Bill Clinton got $750,000 for a speech from a telecom company facing State Department sanctions for providing technology to Iran. The Clintons got the cash; the telecom company got no sanctions.

"Hillary Clinton's State Department approved the transfer of 20 percent of America's uranium holdings to Russia, while 9 investors in the deal funneled $145 million to the Clinton Foundation."

Trump added, "She ran the State Department like her own personal hedge fund — doing favors for oppressive regimes … for cash."

Together, she and Bill have raked in $153 million since 2001 in speaking fees from "lobbyists, CEOs and foreign governments."

DONALD TRUMP Pledges to Strengthen Ties to Free and Independent Britain

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 07:30 PM PDT

The people of the United Kingdom have exercised the sacred right of all free peoples. They have declared their independence from the European Union and have voted to reassert control over their own politics, borders and economy. A Trump Administration pledges to strengthen our ties with a free and independent Britain, deepening our bonds in commerce, culture and mutual defense. The whole world is more peaceful and stable when our two countries – and our two peoples – are united together, as they will be under a Trump Administration.

Come November, the American people will have the chance to re-declare their independence. Americans will have a chance to vote for trade, immigration and foreign policies that put our citizens first. They will have the chance to reject today's rule by the global elite, and to embrace real change that delivers a government of, by and for the people. I hope America is watching, it will soon be time to believe in America again.

Tom Ridge on Sit-In: Notion Gun Control Would Have Stopped Orlando 'Absolute Disconnect'

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 07:00 PM PDT

Former Bush administration Homeland Security secretary Tom Ridge said there's a "terrible disconnect" between a terrorist's shootings in Orlando, Fla., and last week's gun reform sit-in by House Democrats.

In an interview airing Sunday with New York businessman and radio host John Catsimatidis on his AM 970 who "The Cats Roundtable," Ridge said stricter controls wouldn't have stopped June 12 shooter Omar Mateen.

"The notion that somehow gun control would have eliminated that is just an absolute disconnect," he said.

The Senate rejected sweeping gun control measures last week, including a bill that would ban those on terror watchlists from buying guns.

"You kind of wonder what kind of glasses some of the Democrats are wearing as they look at that horribly tragedy," Ridge said, referring to a subsequent sit-in in the House criticized by GOP Speaker Paul Ryan as a "publicity stunt."

Donald Trump says 'always wrong Obama' and Clinton pushed the British out of Europe by lecturing them to stay - and Americans will be next 'to take their country back'

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 06:30 PM PDT

Donald Trump has dramatically said President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton pushed into Britain leaving the European Union - and predicted Americans will make a similar choice in November.

He said the president - who in April lectured Britain that it must stay in and threatened it with dire economic consequences if it left - and his would-be Democratic successor had misread the mood of the free world

'She's always misread everything, if you think. She's misread this,' Trump told DailyMail.com of Clinton, during a press conference coinciding with the re-opening of a golf course in the west of Scotland.

Both Obama and Clinton urged Britons to vote with the 'Remain' forces, which lost by a 52-48 margin.

The result is bragging rights for Trump, who had said that while he wouldn't tell UK voters what to do, if it were up to him he would choose to make Great Britain 'independent' of Brussels.

Kerry to Visit Brussels, London for Talks on UK's EU Exit

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 05:00 PM PDT

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will rush to Brussels and London on Monday to meet the top British and European Union diplomats, as the world grapples with the implications of Britain's historic vote to leave the European Union.

Kerry will bring messages of support. Less likely: Answers or even suggestions for how to deal with a crisis that has spooked economists and forced countries in Europe and beyond to contemplate the possibility of unity across the continent crumbling.

The trip began Sunday in Rome, where Kerry has scheduled talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He will also meet Italian government officials.

But confronted with the gravity of Britain's June 23 decision, which crushed markets from the U.S. to Japan, Kerry has set up a frantic, four-nation schedule Monday.

After gathering with Netanyahu in the morning, he will fly to Brussels to discuss Europe's situation with EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini. He will go from there to London to meet British Secretary Philip Hammond, before returning to Washington before the day's end.

With the Brits, Kerry will echo last week's immediate response from Washington focusing on the unchanged nature of the "special relationship" between the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

Visiting Britain in April, President Barack Obama noted ongoing U.S.-EU trade negotiations and warned Britons that a vote to "leave" could put them at the back of the line for similar deals.

Since the result of the referendum, however, Obama and other American officials have gone out of their way to emphasize the durability of the relationship, playing down the idea of any repercussions from Washington.

Democrats Attack Bill of Rights to Destroy Political Enemies

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 04:30 PM PDT

Are you a "potential terrorist" on a secret watch list?

Democrats are waging a war on due process, the rule of law, and the principle of legal rights going back to the Magna Carta.

Clause 39 of the Magna Carta issued by John of England in 1215 declares: "No free man shall be seized or imprisoned, or stripped of his rights or possessions, or outlawed or exiled, or deprived of his standing in any other way, nor will we proceed with force against him, or send others to do so, except by the lawful judgment of his equals or by the law of the land."

For Democrats in the House and Senate, lawful judgment is no longer relevant. In their zeal to outlaw firearms and demolish the Second Amendment, Democrats and their progressive fellow travelers are striving to dismantle laws and legal proceedings for Americans included on secret lists compiled and held by the state. This represents the very essence of a police state.

"The Democrats demand that Americans be stripped of their Second Amendment rights with no attention paid to the Fifth Amendment, to due process," writes Kevin Williamson. "They propose that Americans be stripped of their legal protections under the Bill of Rights even when they have not been charged with, much less convicted of, a crime. They propose that this be done on the basis of a series of secret government lists, whose contents, criteria, and keepers are treated as state secrets."

If The Public Shouldn't Have Them, Why Does The IRS Need AR-15s?

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 04:00 PM PDT

Here we go again. Stuck in the aftermath of a horrific shooting and all politicians think to do is scheme about how to take more rights from the citizenry. There are no good guys here. The Democrats want to railroad over due process by denying firearms to people on Orwellian watch lists, while Republicans plot to give the FBI more warrantless surveillance powers. This is the authoritarian knee-jerk response to tragedy we get from the U.S Congress.

Hypocritically, when it comes to foreign policy, all we hear are incessant calls for more militarism, more war and more regime change. As I warned in yesterday's post, Is the Syrian War About to Experience a Major Escalation? — 51 State Department officials just issued a cable calling for the bombing of Syria's Bashar al-Assad. An event likely to lead to direct confrontation with Russia.

While all of that is bad enough, the U.S. government continues to eagerly and aggressively arm non-defense federal employees with weapons of war.

3M+ ‘Remain’ Petition Uses ‘Script’ To ‘Fake’ Signatures

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 03:30 PM PDT

Questions are being raised as to the true number of UK citizens signing a petition to urge another European Union membership referendum as evidence emerged that activists are encouraging foreign signatories. Some critics claim that a "bot" or "script" is being used to automatically generate names and signatories.

As of early Sunday afternoon, over 3.1 million signatures had been registered on the petition named: "EU Referendum Rules triggering a 2nd EU Referendum" which calls for the "Government to implement a rule that if the remain or leave vote is less than 60% based a turnout less than 75% there should be another referendum."

But an analysis of the data on the petition shows that at least 6 per cent of the signatories, or nearly 200,000 are from foreign countries. While foreign-based UK nationals are allowed to sign UK petitions, some believe that many of these are fraudulent given that Remain activists are handing out post codes online in order to elicit more signatures from abroad.

Will @chrisshipitv or @MichaelLCrick report on how many signatures on the parliament petition site are fraudulent? pic.twitter.com/ETsJOGaN5A

— Raheem Kassam (@RaheemKassam) June 25, 2016

And some believe that a "script" or a "bot" is being used to automatically generate signatures for the petition. Twitter users are pointing to this PasteBin link which they claim is a script to automate sign ups. Breitbart London has been unable to verify such claims, but the rate at which signatures are being added to the petition may suggest at least some level of automation.

Dirt Bike Trail Car Driver Arrested for Handgun Violation

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 02:45 PM PDT

On June 26, 2016 the Baltimore Police Department's Fox Trot spotted numerous dirt bikes and ATV's attempting to fuel up at the Eagle gas Station located at 1400 Washington Boulevard at Bush Street.

At that time, patrol units were called in, in an attempt to apprehend some of the riders.

One vehicle that was with the dirt bikes and ATV's served as the "trail vehicle". Trail vehicles are those vehicles that ride with large dirt bike groups. Their purpose is to help disrupt traffic, video dirt bike activity for social media purposes, and aide and assist the dirt bike riders in any way.

Officers were able to stop the trail vehicle. The driver of that vehicle surrendered an identification card and attempted to pull off. Officers removed that driver from the vehicle. Located underneath that driver was a loaded .38 caliber revolver.

Officers arrested 28 year old Antonio Woods of the 2500 block of Ellamont Street. Due to his prior criminal history, Woods is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Antonio Woods is currently in Central Booking and has been charged with various handgun violations. He is currently waiting to see a court commissioner.

People Power: Political Novice Wins Iceland Presidency

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 02:30 PM PDT

History professor Gudni Johannesson won Iceland's presidential election after riding a wave of anti-establishment sentiment, final results showed Sunday, although the vote was eclipsed by the country's eagerly-anticipated Euro football match.

The political newcomer, who won with 39.1 percent of votes, was trailed by businesswoman Halla Tomasdottir, also without party affiliation, who took 29.4 percent, according to results announced on public television channel RUV.

Johannesson only decided to run for the presidency after the so-called Panama Papers leak in April which detailed offshore accounts and implicated several senior Icelandic politicians, including the prime minister who was forced to resign.

Throughout the campaign, Johannesson emphasized his non-partisan vision of the presidency, and vowed to restore faith in the political system after years of public anger toward politicians over scandals and financial woes.

The victory was especially sweet for the history professor and political commentator, who has never held public office and has no party affiliation, as he celebrated his 48th birthday Sunday.

David Oddsson, a former conservative prime minister who had been Johannesson's closest rival throughout most of the campaign, garnered just 13 percent of votes.

Magna Carta 2.0: Good for Freedom, Good for Growth-Trump Is the Big Winner, Obama Got Crushed.

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 02:00 PM PDT

The original Magna Carta was a charter agreed to by King John of England in 1215. It just celebrated its 801st anniversary.

So no, I wasn't there. But that charter has become part of an important, iconic, political myth that the deal between an unpopular king and rebellious barons marked the beginning of individual English freedoms, personal liberties, and due-process protection of individuals under the law. Magna Carta has also been cited as providing the essential foundation for the contemporary powers of Parliament and legal principles such as habeas corpus.

That's the mythology, and it's an important one.

So while I understand that describing the Brexit victory as Magna Carta 2.0 is inexact, I think it makes a key point: Britain will regain its political freedom, its autonomous self-government, and its independence from an EU that is spinning out of control under the power of establishment elites, unelected and unaccountable socialist bureaucrats, and a judicial court that is increasingly making legal decisions that replace Britain's powerful common law.

NFL Great Herschel Walker Says He’s Blackballed from Speaking Gigs By Anti-Trumpers

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 01:30 PM PDT

NFL Great Herschel Walker was one of the early Trump supporters out of the gate but now he says he is losing speaking gigs by anti-Trumpers who are blackballing him.

Walker, a running back for such teams as the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys, recently told gossip site TMZ he has had multiple speaking engagements canceled because hosts say they are worried he'll attract anti-Trump protestors.

Walker wouldn't tell the gossip site what events nixed his speaking slots, but he said that event sponsors in California specifically noted he was axed because of his support for Trump.

Walker also said he won't stop supporting Trump because the presumptive GOP nominee is the best man for the White House.

In fact, only days ago Walker was asked about Trump's rhetoric and Walker insisted he didn't see anything racist in the GOP front runner's speeches.

In an interview with NBC Sports Walker dismissed any chance that Trump was a racist.

Darrell Issa: There Is Enough Evidence to Indict Hillary

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 12:30 PM PDT

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Republican California Rep. Darrell Issa said that there is enough evidence to indict Hillary Clinton for mishandling national security information on her private email server.

"There is more than enough for an indictment," Issa, the former House Oversight Committee chairman, told Breitbart News Saturday on Sirius/XM Patriot Channel 125. Issa explained:

The statute about classified material holds you responsible not to transmit in an unsecured environment or to a person not cleared. It holds you accountable not to do that. Not based on whether there's the word 'Secret' all over it, but based on the presumption that you would recognize that classified material. She transmitted things like — I don't want to disclose anything — like a mayor in Afghanistan who was working with us, and if that material becomes available to the wrong people, she gets killed. You don't have to ask whether that's classified. As an army lieutenant years ago, I knew that would be classified because it goes to sources and methods.

Breitbart News exclusively reported that Clinton posted and shared the names of CIA-protected American intelligence sources in foreign countries on her non-secure server, which was repeatedly breached by Russia-linked hack attempts and suffered a security vulnerability in East Asia. Sources report that the Russian government intercepted and plans to release some of Clinton's private emails, which convicted hacker Guccifer also claims to have obtained.

DNC Sued By Up To 2 Million Sanders Donors In Class Action Lawsuit

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 12:00 PM PDT

Hundreds of Bernie Sanders donors have launched a massive class action lawsuit against the DNC alleging fraud and collusion with the Hillary Clinton campaign, in a move designed to fundamentally change the way the DNC exists and conducts business, and thousands more people have requested paperwork to sign on as plaintiffs in the past 48 hours.

Beck & Lee Trial Lawyers, a civil litigation firm based in Miami, Florida, is announcing the filing of a class action lawsuit against the DNC early next week, and anyone who donated to the DNC after Bernie Sanders entered the race for the Democratic nomination, either directly or through third-party payment platforms, along with anybody who donated to Bernie Sanders' campaign at any stage of the primaries and caucuses, is eligible to join the lawsuit.

Considering around two million people donated a combined seven million contributions averaging $27 a piece – and they are all eligible to join the lawsuit – this has the potential to turn into one of the largest class actions in American history.

'Signed agreements are coming in steadily and we continue to get new requests by the minute,' Beck & Lee partner Jared Beck said.

"We think that the DNC has been running absolutely out of control and completely disregarding their responsibilities, rights, and duties to the public," attorney Elizabeth Beck said.

Britain’s vote for freedom proves power is with the people

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 11:30 AM PDT

As the Brexit results poured in, I caught myself humming a tune from Broadway's "Hamilton." The song follows the decisive Battle of Yorktown in 1781, after which the Redcoats surrender and America is free. It's called a drinking song, and there's not much to it except these words: "The world turned upside down."

It certainly has. The world is also coming full circle because now it's the Brits who are free. It took them a while, but they finally had their own Tea Party and their own revolution.

I salute them for their courage. And I raise a glass to freedom (that's "Hamilton," too).

Revolutions are a leap into the unknown and require the right mix of outrage, determination and leadership. They are testament to the ethos of an entire country and culture when they succeed without a shot being fired.

That's the beauty of Brexit, and of grand old England. The people spoke, they were heard, and the wheel of history is turning. Let's get on with it.

It took a revolution because the leaders of both of Britain's major political parties united in opposition to change, with the pooh-bahs and grandees trying to scare voters into sticking with the status quo. Naturally, the establishment media lectured the rubes on what was good for them.

Sound familiar, America?

Not surprisingly, Donald Trump encouraged and celebrated British independence, declaring that voters "took their country back." Stuck on the wrong side of history, President Obama and Hillary Clinton acted as if their dogs died.

Sanders Says Thousands of Allies Poised to Run for Office

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 11:00 AM PDT

A new generation of Bernie Sanders-inspired political candidates is committing to run for state and local office, the campaign claims, a development some analysts say could shape liberal politics for decades to come – as the senator makes moves to exit the 2016 stage.

While not suspending his presidential campaign yet, the Vermont senator has spent the last two weeks encouraging like-minded Americans to run, be it for school board, city council, state legislature or higher.

A day after he first made that call in a June 16 online address, his campaign said 6,700 supporters expressed interest in running; the number was nearly 11,000 counting those interested in volunteering. A week later at a New York City rally, Sanders said the number of those prepared to run or volunteer had risen to 20,000.

"We are just getting started," Sanders declared Thursday.

The campaign has not shared the identities of those signing up on the Sanders website, and it's unclear how many of them truly would make the leap from Sanders supporter to political candidate.

Democratic strategists, though, claim the Sanders "revolution" is far from over, even as Hillary Clinton prepares to claim the nomination at next month's convention.

Loretta Lynch: ‘Most effective’ response to Islamic terrorism ‘is love’

Attorney General Loretta Lynch told Florida's LGBT community that the "most effective" weapon at America's disposal against Islamic terrorism is "love."

Mrs. Lynch told reporters in Orlando on Tuesday that an ongoing investigation will determine the precise motive for 29-year-old Omar Mateen's June 12 massacre at Pulse, a gay nightclub. Mateen, a former security guard, called 911 and pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group while killing 49 people and wounding 53 others.

"To the LGBT community — we stand with you," President Obama's attorney general said. "The good in this world far outweighs the evil. Our common humanity transcends our differences, and our most effective response to terror is compassion, it's unity and it's love..."

FBI Confirms That Donald Trump Was RIGHT About Syrian Refugees! WHOA!

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 09:37 AM PDT

Our immigration crisis keeps getting worse and I'm over here asking, "Is Trump in office yet?"

The FBI said this week at yet another congressional hearing said that there is no way to truly vet each and every refugee coming from terrorist laden Syria during their civil war exodus.

The FBI warned, again, that accepting any of these refugees poses a threat to American lives as this might let terrorists slip through the cracks.

The debate about the security risk posed by Syrian refugees has been raging for months between two sectors of the federal government – the FBI headed by James Comey and the State Department headed by John Kerry.

U.S. commanders now openly challenging ISIS strategy of outgoing Obama

Rifts have emerged between U.S. military leaders and the Obama White House on Washington's future role in Libya, with the generals questioning the White House's argument that the recent success against Islamic State shows Libya can go it alone in the fight against terrorism, without direct U.S. assistance.

Marine Corps Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, the White House's pick to lead U.S. Africa Command, called for increased American military action in Libya to ensure the Islamic State, or ISIS or ISIL, does not reconstitute itself in the country as pressure ramps up against its strongholds in Iraq and Syria.

Gen. Waldhauser told a Senate Armed Services Committee confirmation hearing Tuesday that U.S. military planners were drafting up battle plans for airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Libya, Reuters reported. The fledgling unity government in Tripoli has enjoyed surprising success in recent weeks in a campaign against the Islamic State's stronghold in the coastal city of Sirte.

But rules of engagement for U.S. forces in Libya, which require White House approval for any offensive operations in the country, have hamstrung American military planners in the region, according to the report.

Gen. Waldhauser was not the first American combatant commander to call for an increased military role for U.S. forces in Libya. U.S. Central Command chief Gen. Joseph Votel told lawmakers during his confirmation hearing earlier this year that he supported restarting the U.S.-led training mission in the country.

Senate Majority Whip: Concealed Carry Permits ‘Could Well Be a Deterrent’ to Radical Islamic Terrorists

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 09:23 AM PDT

Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-TX) said Tuesday that American citizens with concealed handgun licenses "could well be a "deterrent" to radical Islamic terrorists.

The second ranking Republican in the Senate made the remark after CNSNews.com asked him: "Will curtailing the Second Amendment right of Americans to keep and bear arms protect this nation against radical Islamic terrorism?"

"If people come into a place where people have concealed handgun licenses and they're in a position to defend themselves, it could well be a deterrent," Cornyn replied during an interview on Capitol Hill.

Congressional Democrats have been pushing for stricter gun control in the wake of the Orlando shooting on June 12 that left 50 dead and dozens more injured.

Poll: Sanders Supporters Won't Back Clinton

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 09:15 AM PDT

Nearly half of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders supporters said they can't vote for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the general election.

According to a Bloomberg poll, 40 percent of respondents said they would not vote for former Secretary of State Clinton. Twenty-two percent are supporting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and 18 percent are supporting Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson. Five percent said they didn't know or didn't have an opinion.

"I'm a registered Democrat, but I can't bring myself to vote for another establishment politician like Hillary." Laura Ames, a Sanders supporter from Beeville, Texas, said. "I don't agree with a lot of what Trump says, but he won't owe anybody. What you see is what you get."

Sessions: Halting Migration from Middle East

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 09:00 AM PDT

Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions named six Middle Eastern countries on Sunday that he believes should be included in the Muslim travel ban proposed by presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

"It all depends on population. Pakistan has a number — people from Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen," Sessions told CNN's Dana Bash when pressed to name which countries the U.S. should specifically look at.

The Alabama Republican declined to include Saudi Arabia, an Arab ally of the U.S.

"We should slow down. Let's have a pause and begin to analyze where the threats are coming from. Slowing down, I think is a good idea," Sessions said.

JUST IN: U.S. Supreme Court vacates Bob McDonnell's convictions

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 08:45 AM PDT

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday unanimously reversed former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell's 11 corruption convictions.

The high court vacated the unanimous finding of the Richmond-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which had rejected McDonnell's arguments and upheld the guilty verdicts.

"There is no doubt that this case is distasteful; it may be worse than that," Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., wrote in delivering the opinion for the court. "But our concern is not with tawdry tales of Ferraris, Rolexes, and ball gowns.

"It is instead with the broader legal implications of the governments' boundless interpretation of the federal bribery statute. A more limited interpretation of the term 'official act' leaves ample room for prosecuting corruption, while comporting with the text of the statute and the precedent of this court."

Shut Up, They Explained

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 08:45 AM PDT

When conservative speaker Ben Shapiro came to Penn State on April 6 of this year, he was met with protesters from the left who were trying to silence him.

Standing outside of the crowded room in which Shapiro was speaking, I witnessed a mob banging on doors, screaming as loudly as they could, and devising a plan to pull the fire alarm in the building to disrupt the event.

Trying to silence speech has become commonplace for left-wing protesters in recent years. In her book, The Intimidation Game: How the Left is Silencing Free Speech, Kimberley Strassel outlines the extent to which the left is willing to go in this effort.

Far from stopping at spontaneous protests, Strassel goes into the details of the McCain-Feingold Act, Citizens United v. FEC, the DISCLOSE Act, and the IRS scandal showing how liberals, with the help of some Republicans, have been pursuing anti-speech policies under the guise of government transparency.

She tells stories about everyday Americans whose privacy has been invaded by unreasonable investigations and whose free speech has been assaulted by the strong arm of the federal government under President Obama's administration.

Strassel explains how Nixon-era corruption led individuals to demand more transparency in government. Although corruption is a very legitimate concern, she says the left has used transparency to justify going after individuals who donate to political causes. Investigating nonprofits to make sure that they are following campaign finance law has turned into the federal government, in the form of the IRS, harassing conservative nonprofits—who are complying with the law—and stalling the completion of granting their tax-exempt statuses.

Disgraced ex-UN official’s death ‘conveniently timed’

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 08:30 AM PDT

The death by barbell of disgraced UN official John Ashe could become a bigger obsession for conspiracy theorists than Vince Foster's 1993 suicide.

Ashe — who was facing trial for tax fraud — died Wednesday afternoon in his house in Westchester County. The UN said he'd had a heart attack. But the local Dobbs Ferry police said Thursday that his throat had been crushed, presumably by a barbell he dropped while pumping iron.

Ashe was due in court Monday with his Chinese businessman co-defendant Ng Lap Seng, who is charged with smuggling $4.5 million into the US since 2013 and lying that it was to buy art and casino chips.

Ng was identified in a 1998 Senate report as the source of hundreds of thousands of dollars illegally funneled through an Arkansas restaurant owner, Charlie Trie, to the Democratic National Committee during the Clinton administration. (Ng was not charged with any crime.)

Ng and Trie had visited the White House several times for Democratic fund-raising events and were photographed with then-President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton.

One source told me, "During the trial, the prosecutors would have linked Ashe to the Clinton bagman Ng. It would have been very embarrassing. His death was conveniently timed."

Report: Record 3.1 Million Immigrants Settled in US Over 2 Years

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 08:15 AM PDT

In part because of lax enforcement by the Obama administration, a record number of immigrants settled in the United States in 2014 and 2015 — up 39 percent over the previous two years and even before the 2007 recession, according to a new study released on Friday.

About a third of the total 3.1 million immigrants counted in the report by the Center for Immigration Studies were illegals — with many of them crossing the U.S. border with Mexico, overstaying temporary visas or being released into the country after being detained briefly by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

The number of illegals for 2014 and 2015, 1.1 million, was nearly double the 700,000 who settled across the United States the previous two years, according to the center's analysis of Census Bureau data.

The report comes a day after the Supreme Court tied 4-4 on President Barack Obama's executive amnesty actions, effectively killing his plans for the rest of his term.

District Revokes Pension For Teacher Who Only Did Union Work

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 08:00 AM PDT

A Pennsylvania teacher has had her pension benefits revoked following years of doing nothing but union work instead of her job, a lawyer involved said.

Allentown Education Association President Debra Tretter has done nothing but union work since getting elected in 2009. In that time, she continued to accumulate pension benefits reserved specifically for teachers because of a policy known as release time. The Public School Employees' Retirement System revoked her benefits June 20 in response to an ongoing lawsuit.

"Release time has popped up in a lot of different ways in different districts," Fairness Center Attorney Karin Sweigart told The Daily Caller News Foundation. "Just a whole gamut of ways this policy has evolved across the state. And we have become aware of a lot of these and we hope this case will be the beginning of the unraveling of this practice across the state."

DC Officials Blame Illegal Immigration For Crime Spike

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 07:45 AM PDT

Washington Metro area officials are blaming illegal immigrants for a rise in gang related violence, and are imploring federal officials to enforce immigration laws and stymie the flow.

"We warned two to three years ago that this influx over the border of illegal aliens was going to cause an increase in MS-13 and other gang-related crime," Corey Stewart, chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisor, told Fox 5. "It's happening. We are seeing it happen. It is not just in the border towns. It is happening all across America and we are seeing it especially here in Northern Virginia and the D.C. region."

Maryland and Northern Virginia have an influx of immigrants and a rise in homicides, many tied back to increased gang activity, particularly with the notorious MS-13 group. District officials saw a record homicide rate in 2015, but Maryland is also struggling with a rise in violent incidents. Montgomery County Police said they investigated eight gang-related murders in 2015, four times more than in the previous year, reports Fox 5.

Brewer vs. O'Malley: Talk of racists and fascists

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 07:15 AM PDT

Former Govs. Martin O'Malley and Jan Brewer tussled on Sunday morning over Donald Trump's rhetoric, with O'Malley ultimately telling Brewer: "I can't believe you're supporting Donald Trump."

The two appeared on a panel on CNN's "State of the Union" with Jake Tapper.

O'Malley, the former Maryland governor who ran in the Democratic primary and is now backing Hillary Clinton, said: "Donald Trump is a bigot. Donald Trump is a racist. Donald Trump in fact is making fascist appeals."

Brewer — who supports Trump and has regularly appeared on the show as a panelist — said she was tired of having Democrats call her and other Republicans "racist" for disagreeing with them.

"With President Obama and Hillary Clinton, every time you disagree with them, it doesn't matter which subject it is, you're a bigot or you're a racist," said the former Arizona governor, sitting next to O'Malley at the table. The two discussed, among other things, Trump's insults directed toward federal judge Gonzalo Curiel.

Black Lives Matter withdraws from S.F.'s Pride Parade due to increased police presence

Black Lives Matter Bay Area and other organizations said Friday that they will not participate in this weekend's San Francisco Pride Parade due to increased policing in the wake of the Orlando nightclub shooting.

Black Lives Matter, which was to be an organizational grand marshal for the parade themed "For Racial and Economic Justice," cited concerns over the San Francisco Police Department's "recent track record of racist scandal and killings of people of color" and how first responders can be a source of harm to "queer communities of color."

"The Black Lives Matter network is grateful to the people of San Francisco for choosing us, we choose you too," said Malkia Cyril, a member of Black Lives Matter, in a press release. "As queer people of color, we are disproportionately targeted by both vigilante and police violence.

Self-driving cars may one day face decision of who to save, kill

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 06:45 AM PDT

(NEW YORK) — Would you get into an automated self-driving vehicle, knowing that in the event of an accident, it might sacrifice your life if it meant saving the lives of 10 other people?

Autonomous vehicles (AVs), also known as self-driving vehicles, are already a reality. Initial guidelines from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regarding this technology are expected by this summer, and road tests are currently in progress across the country.

But one barrier to the widespread use of autonomous vehicles is deciding how to program these vehicles' safety rules in the most socially acceptable and ethical way.

After a six-month survey, an international team of researchers published their findings Thursday in the journal Science and found the public has a conflicted view about the future of self-driving technology.

Clinton Foundation gives tiny fraction of $2 billion in revenue to veterans groups

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 06:37 AM PDT

The Clinton Foundation has collected more than $2 billion in revenue since it formed — but has given only the tiniest fraction to veterans groups, instead preferring to focus on international causes and in-house operations that provide far more control and less transparency.

Meanwhile, a separate private charity, the Clinton Family Foundation, has donated about $100,000 to veterans groups, according to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

Rival Donald Trump's charitable giving to veterans has come under scrutiny since he promised to raise millions for the cause at a January rally in Iowa. Reports questioned whether he followed through, forcing him to release a list of organizations and dollar amounts he gave — including a $1 million check of his own.

Far less attention has been given to the Clintons' charitable giving to veterans through their own organizations, and particularly the main Clinton Foundation and its close affiliate, the Clinton Global Initiative.

An examination of the foundation's 990s, the IRS form that tax-exempt 501(c)3 charities must file annually, do not show any direct grants to veterans groups since 1998, when President Bill Clinton established the organization.

DOJ employee accused of traveling to engage in sex with a minor

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 06:30 AM PDT

BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A Dept. of Justice (DOJ) employee from Columbia, Md. has pled guilty to traveling to engage in sex with a minor.

The guilty plea was announced Friday by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein.

According to the plea agreement 55-year-old James Cicala, a career employee at the US DOJ, owned a beach house on Fenwick Island and placed multiple ads in the Delaware, Maryland and DC editions of an online marketplace, seeking females to engage in "daddy-daughter" relationships.

An undercover detective with the Worcester County Sheriff's Office responded to the ad, identifying himself as a 15-year-old girl named "Sydney." After reportedly exchanging messages for several weeks the two agreed to meet to engage in sexually explicit conduct.

Officials say the first meeting was scheduled for August 1, 2015 but fell through and texting between the two continued until a second meeting date of August 15, 2015 was selected. According to a release from Rosenstein's office, "Many of the conversations Cicala had with the undercover officer occurred using Cicala's DOJ-issued phone or work computer, sometimes during work hours. Cicala frequently attempted to engage "Sydney" in sexually explicit chat, instructing her to delete the message, and sent Sydney nude and partially nude photos of himself."

Hillary Clinton Faked Her Calendar To Hide Meetings With Donors

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 06:23 AM PDT

I know, I know. It is heartbreaking and gobsmacking that Hillary Clinton, while on the dole as US Secretary of State, met with major donors and favor seekers behind closed doors and then falsified her official calendar to hide those meetings. Me, too. I am saddened and dismayed. My faith in the world is shaken to its very foundations.

Television cameras rolled when Hillary Clinton appeared on the central balcony of the New York Stock Exchange to ring the opening bell — just minutes after she attended a private breakfast in September 2009 with influential Wall Street and business leaders.

But the identities of her breakfast guests would be left off of her official State Department calendar — omissions that are among scores of names and events missing from Clinton's historical record of her daily activities as secretary of state, an Associated Press review found.

Now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Clinton met that morning with a dozen chief executives, most of whose firms had lobbied the government and donated to her family's global charity, the Clinton Foundation. The event was closed to the press and merited only a brief mention in her official calendar, which omitted the names of all her guests — among them Blackstone Group Chairman Steven Schwarzman, PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi and then-New York Bank of Mellon CEO Robert Kelly.

Of course, in truly Clintonesque manner, Hillary decided that if a law was worth scoffing it was worth flouting in a truly epic fashion:

A Viewer Writes: News stories timing

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 06:00 AM PDT

Joe,

It's been interesting watching the story about Rollins evolve over the last 24 hours. Yesterday morning I scrolled through Sbynews to catch up and spotted your story, from Friday. I went to google and searched for Cecil County States Attorney and only one story came up and that was about the four who are vying for a judgeship. Puttering around at both work and home yesterday I was able to watch the news coverage online. There was a story, believe it was on the Cecil Whig, again about the judgeship run, that was posted early yesterday afternoon (Saturday). I thought how funny it was, as old as the news was about the OC thing (no pun intended) that the Whig and so many other main stream media outlets, that by Saturday afternoon there were no stories. It took until late last night for stories to pop up. Check out the times in the screen shot I just took a few minutes ago (Sunday Morning). Proves that main stream media should just pack it in and go home. Proves exactly what you said yourself in the comments in the story on Sbynews, a story posted Friday the 24th. Proves again, like you or not, you have a good thing going on with Sbynews. I wonder how long it will take for the fact he is a republican, and how that will play in spinning the stories that show up the next few days.

Frustrating again though that someone with so much would do something like what Rollins did. But then again I am sure we all have done things we shouldn't have so I have some empathy for the guy. Or maybe he had the Ivory tower mentality where he thought he could do anything without repercussions. Or maybe it's karma coming back to him.

All in all, it's an example to all of us to mind our P's and Q's with everything we do for it may catch up to us.

Baltimore led nation last year in homicide increase

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 05:45 AM PDT

Baltimore had the highest increase in homicides in the nation last year, a criminologist commissioned by the U.S. Department of Justice reported, with more than twice as many extra killings as the three cities that tied for second.

The city suffered 127 more homicides in 2015 than in the previous year, Richard Rosenfeld wrote in "Documenting and Explaining the 2015 Homicide Rise: Research Directions," released this month by the Justice Department.

Chicago, Houston and Milwaukee came in second with 61 more killings. Cleveland and Washington had 57 more.

Rosenfeld, a professor of criminology at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, evaluated data from 56 U.S. cities and found that the most dramatic increases in homicides from 2014 to 2015 occurred in cities with more than 1 million people, with high poverty rates and large populations of African-Americans.

'Brexit' Explained

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 05:23 AM PDT

One would be hard pressed to overstate the seismic political import of what happened in the UK last night when the supporters of "Leave" edged "Remain" by 51.9% to 48.1% (17,410,742 to 16,141,241,) handing "Brexit" supporters a monumental victory of shockingly historic proportions.

On the vast political stage, the vote shakes the EU to its fiscally bankrupt, crony bankster core; on the local level, the referendum will have ramifications for the livelihoods of many Brits across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

To get a clear and concise picture of what this means worldwide, let's offer a sizeable bit of background information on the EU, its origins, its major problems, what happened last night, and what the process looks like for UK withdrawal.

Here are the basics:

The concept for the EU was started in 1945 as the brainchild of a handful of people, principally Jeanne Monnet, a well-connected French businessman and string-puller who believed that a large European super-state could prevent sub-states such as Germany from rekindling a world war. Essential to his concept was deception of the populace – no joke.

According to Monnet: "Europe's nations should be guided towards the super-state without their people understanding what is happening. This can be accomplished by successive steps, each disguised as having an economic purpose, but which will eventually and irreversibly lead to federation."

Great Britain officially joined the EU in 1973.

Early supporters of a European Union believed it would act as a free trade zone, lowering tariffs and allowing easier movement of labor from nation to nation. Within two decades, it became clear that the EU was seething with bureaucrats, and was a revolving door for crony political mercantilists from banks like Goldman Sachs who filled the EU books with reams of regulations and got the European Central Bank to hand out money to member nations in order to protect the "interests" of banks like… Goldman Sachs.

"Member nations" such as Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Portugal and Ireland ran up massive debts in the past ten years, and the ECB not only bailed them out, but also installed new leaders in some, leaders who were hand-picked from -- you guessed it -- Goldman Sachs.

The off-duty detective was transported to an area hospital with an injury to her ankle.

It is unknown at this time if any of the dirt bikers were injured in the incident.

GOP Leaders Stall Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Act

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 05:07 AM PDT

Eighty members of Congress, including two Democrats, now support the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act, with one more congressman and a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee signing up since the last update. There's only one problem: The Republican leadership is stalling it, even though the House version passed the Judiciary Committee.

The two new cosponsors are Senator David Perdue (R-GA) and Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA). The former is especially significant because he is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee where it is held up. A list of cosponsors and opponents is available at the bottom of this article.

Terrorism expert Patrick Poole writes that the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Bob Corker (R-TN), has not even held hearings on the bill, much less arranged for it to be voted on. Corker is reportedly being vetted as a potential running mate for Donald Trump.

The story is even more discouraging in the House, where support for the bill was proven when it passed the Judiciary Committee. Yet, Speaker Paul Ryan and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy have not given any public indication that he'll have the House vote on it.

"There really is no good reason why GOP leadership should continue blocking these bills from coming to the floor. Our closest allies, namely Egypt, Israel and Jordan, are taking action against the Muslim Brotherhood. As the Brotherhood rank-and-file in Egypt escalate terror attacks, and Brotherhood militias openly ally with Ansar al-Sharia in Libya and other affiliates across the Middle East become more militant, we should not be giving them aid and refuge while our allies actively fight them," Poole told Clarion Project.

Four organizations representing persecuted Christians are also pushing for the bill.

Clinton White House was a den of cocaine and mistresses: ex-Secret Service officer

He says he has also seen Hillary's "dangerous," abusive, paranoid behavior.

From CBS News:

Battleground states are called battlegrounds for a reason: They're often close, and 2016 looks like no exception.

Hillary Clinton holds narrow leads over Donald Trump across a number of key states of Florida (up three points, 44 to 41 percent); Colorado (Clinton 40 percent, Trump 39 percent); Wisconsin (Clinton up 41 percent to 36 percent) and North Carolina, which has flipped back and forth between the parties in the last two elections, where it's Clinton 44 percent and Trump 42 percent.

In the wake of the Brexit referendum in the United Kingdom this week, many wondered if the same sentiments that drove voters to leave the UK, such as voter unease about the economic and cultural effects of globalization, were at work in the U.S. presidential election, too.

Gun-registry-loving Obama Security Advisor Refused to “Record another Muslim”

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 04:00 AM PDT

"A Muslim doesn't record another Muslim," said Gamal Abdel-Hafiz (shown). This might not have been noteworthy except that Abdel-Hafiz was an FBI agent at the time and was refusing to do his duty, which at that moment involved taping a Muslim suspect.

That was 2002, and this is now. And now the Cairo-born Abdel-Hafiz has moved on to bigger and perhaps better things — he's a homeland-security advisor to Barack Obama. And while recording a single Muslim is a problem for him, putting every single American firearm owner on a gun-registry he fancies a good idea. WFAA.com reports on his idea:

A former FBI counter-terrorism agent says lawmakers could make mass murders less likely. "What we need to do is keep the ownership of guns known to the government, so we know who has what," said security consultant Gamal Abdel-Hafiz. "And I know a lot of people are against that."

CNN Botches Proven Fact About Clinton Foundation Donations

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 03:30 AM PDT

CNN investigative correspondent Drew Griffin narrated a segment Fridaydetailing various donations the Clinton Foundation had accepted from foreign governments prior to Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state, but he completely botched the repeatedly proven fact that the Clinton Foundation has failed to reveal the identities of over 1,000 foreign donors.

The Lead host Jake Tapper highlighted a shocking Associated Press report that revealed that Hillary Clinton held more than 75 meetings with foreign Clinton Foundation donors that were wiped from then-Secretary Clinton's official State Department schedule. Tapper linked the new revelations about Clinton and her family foundation to questions currently being raised by Donald Trump concerning the aforementioned donations.

Part of Griffin's report features Trump saying in a speech earlier this week that "Maybe the motivation lies among the 1,000 foreign donations Hillary failed to disclose while at the State Department."

Griffin then falsely asserts that "There's no evidence that is accurate."

But in fact, last April, the Washington Post and Bloomberg News both reported that 1,100 hidden Clinton Foundation foreign donors were "bundled" into a $25 million donation from Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership.

Why Americans Should Celebrate the Brexit Vote

Posted: 27 Jun 2016 03:00 AM PDT

The momentous victory for the Brexit campaign signals a new era of freedom for the British people.

After more than four decades of being shackled to the European Union (previously the European Economic Community), Great Britain has declared its independence.

The vote for Brexit (52 percent of Britons cast ballots to leave the EU) is a vote for sovereignty and self-determination. Britain will no longer be subject to European legislation, with Britain's Parliament retaking control. British judges will no longer be overruled by the European Court of Justice, and British businesses will be liberated from mountains of EU regulations, which have undermined economic liberty.
