Posted: 16 Sep 2019 09:00 PM PDT First time I heard about paraprosdokians, I liked them. Paraprosdokians are figures of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected and is frequently humorous. (Sir Winston Churchill loved them). 1. Where there's a will, I want to be in it. 2. The last thing I want to do is hurt you ...but it's still on my list. 3. Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak 4. If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong. 5. We never really grow up -- we only learn how to act in public. 6. War does not determine who is right, only who is left. 7. Knowledge, is knowing a tomato is a fruit Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. 8. To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research. 9. I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you. 10. In filling out an application, where it says, "In case of an emergency, notify..." I answered "a doctor." 11. Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy. 12. You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice. 13. I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure. 14. To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target. 15. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car. 16. You're never too old to learn something stupid. 17. Anti-Child Rape Gang Activist and Street Organiser Tommy Robinson Released From Prison Posted: 16 Sep 2019 08:30 PM PDT Tommy Robinson has been released from Britain's maximum security jail after a nine-week sentence that arose from him filming the faces of rape gang suspects outside of court. The former English Defence League leader turned citizen journalist and anti-child rape activist was pictured leaving HMP Belmarsh prison Friday morning, sporting a beard and long hair from his time behind bars. Laughing with Ezra Levant, a Canadian journalist who has allied himself closely to Mr Robinson, the street organiser joked his first stop after prison would be for a haircut because his newly grown ginger-streaked beard made him look like a "little cowardly convert" to Islam. Sparring with journalists from the British Daily Mirror newspaper which had turned up to photograph him on release, Mr Robinson said: "you read their lies, the Daily Mirror lied saying I was attacked in this prison, you made up an entire story. Fisherman catches strange, 'dinosaur-like' creature Posted: 16 Sep 2019 08:00 PM PDT This definitely counts as a once-in-a-lifetime catch. A fisherman was shocked when he reeled in a bizarre, alien-looking creature from the water. The strange animal had large bulbous eyes that made it look like something truly out of this world. Oscar Lundahl nearly "jumped out his fishing boat" when he pulled the strange creature into his boat, The Sun reports. Photos of the fish reveal its large eyes and comparatively small body. Lundahl, a fishing guide for Nordic Sea Angling, was reportedly fishing for blue halibut off the coast of the island of Andoya in Norway when he made the catch. He was apparently fishing in 2,600 feet of water at the time. He told The Sun, "We were looking for blue halibut which is a rare species about 5 miles offshore. I had four hooks on one line and felt something quite big on the end of it. It took me about 30 minutes to reel it in because it was over 2,600 feet deep." More |
2 suspects get 30 years in jail in murder of Baltimore County Officer Amy Caprio Posted: 16 Sep 2019 07:30 PM PDT TOWSON, Md. (WBFF) -- An emotional day for the family of Baltimore County Police Officer Amy Caprio. Two of the four teens charged with the officer's murder were sentenced in Circuit Court. Derrick Matthews and Eugene Genius received 30 year sentences for their role in Officer Caprio's death. As both teens apologized to Caprio's parents, one began to cry while the other asked for forgiveness. Under Maryland law, even though Matthews and Genius were not in the car when getaway driver Dawnta Harris fatally struck Caprio, the teens can still be charged with felony murder. Darrell Ward is scheduled to be sentenced in late September. Ward will be the last defendant to be learn his fate. Harris received a sentence of life. More |

Baltimore councilman says he saw public works crew doing illegal dumping Posted: 16 Sep 2019 06:30 PM PDT BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- Baltimore City is dealing with ongoing illegal dumping issues. But one city councilman claims he saw a Department of Public Works crew dumping trash in someone's back yard. Council Ryan Dorsey, who represents the 3rd District, tweeted the allegation around 1:45 Friday afternoon. In that tweet, Dorsey says he was riding his bike around the district reporting issues to 311. More |
ICE removes 121 to El Salvador, including 10 arrested during Operation No Safe Haven V Posted: 16 Sep 2019 06:00 PM PDT ALEXANDRIA — Officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) removed 121 individuals to El Salvador Sept. 13 on an ICE Air Operations charter flight, including 10 arrested across the U.S. during Operation No Safe Haven V. Those arrested during the operation are implicated in numerous human rights violations against civilians, including the capture, arrest and/or transport of civilians who were subsequently mistreated, and in some cases, beaten, electrocuted and killed. "Human rights violators will find no safe haven in the United States," said David A. Marin, acting deputy executive associate director of ERO. "We will find them and repatriate them to their home countries to face justice." ICE arrested a total of 39 fugitives during Operation No Safe Haven V, a nationwide operation that took place Aug. 27-29. The foreign nationals arrested during the operation all have outstanding removal orders and are subject to repatriation to their countries of origin. In addition, 16 are criminal aliens in the U.S., with convictions for crimes including domestic violence, driving under the influence of alcohol, drug distribution, firearms possession, grand theft, reckless endangerment, robbery, fraud and theft. ICE is committed to identifying, investigating, prosecuting and removing known or suspected human rights violators who seek safe haven in the U.S. ICE's Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center investigates human rights violators who try to evade justice by seeking shelter in the U.S., including those who are known or suspected to have participated in persecution, war crimes, genocide, torture, extrajudicial killings, severe violations of religious freedom, female genital mutilation/cutting and the use or recruitment of child soldiers. These individuals may use fraudulent identities or falsified documents to enter the country in an attempt to blend into communities in the U.S. Members of the public who have information about foreign nationals suspected of engaging in human rights abuses or war crimes are urged to contact ICE by calling the toll-free ICE tip line at 1-866-347-2423 or internationally at 001-1802-872-6199. They can also email HRV.ICE@ice.dhs.gov or complete ICE's online tip form. |
The latest Times hit on Brett Kavanaugh is a clear miss Posted: 16 Sep 2019 05:30 PM PDT New York Times reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly spent months reaching out to Yale alumni for more dirt on Justice Brett Kavanaugh's undergraduate years more than three decades ago, and came up empty. That's the actual bottom line of their Times article that dropped online Saturday, though they suggest otherwise — since they clearly want to not just boost sales of the book, but also do whatever they can to further smear the justice. How dishonest was the piece? Well, its biggest "shocker" is noting the existence of yet another alleged Kavanaugh incident — but the article leaves out the fact that the supposed victim doesn't remember a thing. More |
Analysis: Media United in Abortion Support Posted: 16 Sep 2019 05:00 PM PDT The American public is evenly divided on the issue of abortion, but the nation's newsrooms are nearly unanimous in their support for abortion on demand, according to a Washington Free Beacon analysis. The spread of pro-life legislation in red states and the proliferation of late-term abortion laws in New York, Vermont, and Illinois in 2018 and 2019 have prompted numerous editorials supporting the agenda of abortionists. According to a Washington Free Beacon review of dozens of articles written by local and national editorial boards—which represent the official opinion of a newspaper—the Augusta Chronicle in Georgia was the only paper to endorse a bill restricting abortion when a human heartbeat is detectable. A total of 21 papers from 12 different states condemned heartbeat bills, which are set to go into effect in Georgia and Missouri in 2019. Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, and Ohio also signed heartbeat bills into law. Alabama banned abortion in all stages of pregnancy, except for when the mother's life is in danger. More |
"You're Being Tracked" - Massive 30 State, Real-Time License Plate Database Revealed Posted: 16 Sep 2019 04:30 PM PDT Our worst fears about automatic license plate readers (ALPR) are much worse than we could have imagined. Two months ago, I warned everyone that police in Arizona were using ALPR's to "grid" entire neighborhoods. But this story brings public surveillance to a whole new level. Last month, Rekor Systems announced that they had launched the Rekor Public Safety Network (RPSN) which gives law enforcement real-time access to license plates. "Any state or local law enforcement agency participating in the RPSN will be able to access real-time data from any part of the network at no cost. The Company is initially launching the network by aggregating vehicle data from customers in over 30 states. With thousands of automatic license plate reading cameras currently in service that capture approximately 150 million plate reads per month, the network is expected to be live by the first quarter of 2020."RPSN is a 30 state real-time law enforcement license plate database of more than 150 million people. And the scary thing about it is; it is free. More |
‘South Park’ Co-Creator Matt Stone Explains Why Critics Trashed Dave Chappelle: ‘To Keep Their Jobs’ Posted: 16 Sep 2019 04:00 PM PDT Matt Stone, co-creator of "South Park," lamented the "cancel culture" climate in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter (THR), wherein he accused critics of lying about their dislike of Dave Chappelle's recent Netflix comedy special "Sticks & Stones" in order to stay in the good graces of the woke crowd. "It's new," Stone said of cancel culture. "I don't want to say it's the same as it's always been. The kids are f***ing different than us. There's a generational thing going on." "South Park" has been hit by cancel culture on many occasions, with various parenting advocacy groups working to have the show pulled off the air for nearly two decades. When it comes to Dave Chappelle, Stone doesn't believe the comedian will be canceled anytime soon — but he did lament how critics trashed his Netflix special. More |
Hudson: The Party of Slavery Is Now the Party of Reparations Posted: 16 Sep 2019 03:30 PM PDT The Democrat Party is the party of slavery. Thanks to the Democrats' cartoonish clown car of presidential candidates, the party of slavery is now the party of reparations for slavery. This stampede of opportunistic dilettantes — conducting self-promotion campaigns posing as presidential bids — have all endorsed Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee's (D-TX) resolution, H.R. 40, calling for a commission to "study and develop reparation proposals for African-Americans" and a national apology from the government "for the perpetration of gross human rights violations and crimes against humanity on African slaves and their descendants." Rep. Lee is not an idiot. Perhaps a quarter century in Washington has convinced her that you are. Why spend millions to fund a Congressional commission to study what we already know to be true? The Democrat Party is the party of slavery. But don't take my word for it. "There is no doubt that the Democrat Party is the party of the Confederacy, historically, that the Democrat Party's flag is the Confederate flag," former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) told author Angela McGlown. "It was our party's flag. That Jefferson Davis was a Democrat; that Stonewall Jackson strongly identified with the Democrat Party; that secessionists in the South saw themselves as Democrats and were Democrats; that so much of the Democrat Party's history, since it is our nation's oldest political party, has its roots in slavery." The Kamala Fade Is On: Big Money Dems Are No Longer Impressed Posted: 16 Sep 2019 03:00 PM PDT The fortunes of candidates in our interminably long presidential primary process can often change rather quickly. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) had more momentum than any of her opponents coming out of the first round of debates in June. That probably seems like a lifetime ago to her campaign now. Harris went after the guy at the top in Round 1 and scored a couple of strong blows. Almost all of the favorable post-debate media chatter was about her. Her standout performance was immediately reflected in the polls and it seemed as if she would permanently plant herself among the frontrunners. Harris's second debate performance could be described as "clunky" at best. She found her record as the attorney general of California under attack and didn't handle it very gracefully. After the debate -- when she shouldn't have been crowing about anything -- Harris referred to herself as a "top-tier candidate" in her dismissal of Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii). More |
Democrats Propose to Block Trump’s Farm Aid Program Posted: 16 Sep 2019 02:30 PM PDT House Democrats are proposing to block President Donald Trump's aid to farmers amidst the country's tariff fight with China, which could have a devastating impact on America's farmers. The Washington Post revealed Thursday that it has reviewed a draft of a bill written by House Appropriations Committee Chair Nita Lowey (D-NY) that would block Trump's ability to help farmers while the country fights China's unfair trade practices. House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said in a tweet Thursday that Democrats are trying to "squeeze" American farmers by blocking this aid. "Farming is hard enough work as it is. But now Democrats are trying to squeeze American farmers even more by blocking a program that helps them withstand China's unfair trade policies," said McCarthy. "We've got to start putting America first!" More |
High School’s secret to high pass rates is cheating: teachers Posted: 16 Sep 2019 02:00 PM PDT At highly rated Maspeth High School in Queens, students know they can play hooky, skip course work, flunk tests — and still pass. They call it the "Maspeth Minimum," meaning everyone gets at least the minimum grade or score needed to pass or graduate, no matter what. Whistleblowers call it fraud. The secret to the school's 98% graduation and 90% Regents pass rate, they say, is simple: "Cheat!" Four teachers told The Post that the 2,100-student high school — awarded a prestigious National Blue Ribbon in 2018 by the federal secretary of education — has an unwritten but iron-clad "no-fail policy," even for kids who repeatedly don't do the work or even show up. "Teachers are not allowed to fail students," a staffer said. More |
How to help the Bahamas recover: Go on vacation Posted: 16 Sep 2019 01:30 PM PDT Hurricane Dorian all but leveled the northern Bahamas — which is why they so badly need tourism dollars in the lower islands that managed to avoid devastation. Roughly 60% of the nation's gross domestic product comes from tourism, according to a 2019 Heritage Foundation report. And they'll need a lot of vacation-driven dollars to recover from the Category 5 storm, which has left 70,000 homeless, destroyed 90% of buildings in the hardest hit areas and taken the lives of at least 50 of its citizens. Only time will reveal the full scope of damage. But the archipelago is comprised of 31 island districts stretching from just east of southern Florida to north of Haiti — and its southernmost islands were spared from the Category 5 storm, CNN reports. Airports, hotels and cruise terminals in those lower islands are still operating as usual. More |
Wicomico County Opens Safe Station with 24/7 Recovery Services Posted: 16 Sep 2019 01:00 PM PDT (September 16, 2019, Salisbury, MD) On August 1, 2019, the Wicomico County Health Department in partnership with the City of Salisbury Fire Department, Hudson Health Services, and the Recovery Resource Center launched the county's first Safe Station in an attempt to link individuals battling addiction to appropriate treatment and recovery services. The project received funding from Mid-Shore Behavioral Health, Inc. and their unwavering support has allowed this innovative program to assist 19 individuals in linkages to treatment services here in Wicomico County. Open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, the Safe Station ensures that individuals have access to services when they determine that they are ready to do so. Slightly different than other Safe Station programs throughout the state, Wicomico County's Safe Station is housed within the Recovery Resource Center in Salisbury, MD. "Having the Safe Station housed within a building that supports those who struggle with addiction will hopefully breakdown any barriers that may keep individuals from utilizing this beneficial resource," says Christina Bowie-Simpson Wicomico County Opioid Coordinator. "In the first quarter of 2019, Wicomico County saw a reduction of two lives lost to overdose when compared to the first quarter of 2018, and we are optimistic that by implementing this additional resource in our community that we will continue to see a reduction in lives being lost here in our community," says, Lori Brewster, Wicomico County Health Officer. This program ensures that individuals seeking treatment and recovery services at the Safe Station are met with caring and empathetic individuals who have knowledge of the disease of addiction, and understand what the individual may be experiencing upon entry. Each person who enters the Safe Station will be met by a peer in recovery from Wicomico County's Community Outreach Addiction Team (COAT). They will then be evaluated for any medical concerns by the EMTs and Paramedics on duty at the Salisbury Fire Department, before being linked to treatment services. For more information on the Safe Station project or recovery and treatment resources please contact the Wicomico County Opioid Coordinator at (410) 219-3956, or the Wicomico County Community Outreach Addictions Team (COAT) at (443) 783-6875. |
JORDAN CORRECTS THE RECORD ON CUMMINGS’S PARTISAN ATTACKS ON THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION TRAVEL Posted: 16 Sep 2019 12:30 PM PDT WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH), Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, raised concerns about Chairman Cummings's recent attacks on Vice President Pence's travel accommodations. Ranking Member Jordan sent letters to Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, U.S. Secret Service Director James Murray, Office of the Vice President Chief of Staff Marc Short, and Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg providing supplemental information about Vice President Pence's travel arrangements and accommodations in Ireland omitted by Chairman Cummings in his initial correspondence. The letter draws on findings from the Department of State's Inspector General provided to the Committee in July of this year. Excerpt from the letters: "Chairman Cummings did not consult with Republican Committee Members prior to sending his letter. As such, and because the Chairman has a pattern of using the Committee to attack the Trump Administration for partisan gain, we write to supplement the Chairman's letter with relevant information." "Chairman Cummings's letter to you omits relevant information about the Chairman's previous oversight of President Trump's foreign travel, which revealed that accommodations at a Trump Organization property in Europe saved taxpayer money. Specifically, following the President's stay at Trump Turnberry in Scotland in July 2018, then-Ranking Member Cummings asked the independent State Department Office of Inspector General (OIG) to examine any possible financial impropriety related to the travel. In July 2019, the OIG reported back to Chairman Cummings that the State Department saved taxpayer money by staying at the Trump Turnberry property, explaining that the 'rate offered by the Trump Turnberry [was] the lowest of all the hotels being utilized for this VIP visit.' Chairman Cummings has not publicly acknowledged the OIG's findings." "Chairman Cummings expanded his investigation of the Trump Turnberry property this year, demanding detailed information and documents from the Defense Department about military expenditures at the nearby Prestwick Airport. Here, too, the Chairman's letters omitted key information: according to public reports, U.S. Air Force aircrafts landed at Prestwick Airport during the Obama Administration and executed a contract to refuel at Prestwick Airport in 2016, before President Trump entered office. We are not certain why Chairman Cummings ignored this information in his letters." Full text of the letters can be found here. |

Mob of Urban Thugs target Innocents again: Beat Man nearly to death at Minnesota’s Target Field. Posted: 16 Sep 2019 11:30 AM PDT The August 3 video, which was posted to social media on Friday and obtained by the New York Post, and of course ignored by all the major TV news networks, shows a man sitting on a curb outside the stadium where he is robbed by two black males. Moments later a pack of urban thugs brutally attack the man. According to a report from the Minneapolis police spokesperson John Elder, a three-day sweep conducted two weeks ago ended with police arresting 16 thugs between the ages of 13 and 25. Of course, none of this will be covered by CNN, MSNBC or FOX; they all want you to believe these types of attacks never happen. But the fact is, as we've covered numerous times in the past, these types of attacks are not only common but growing in regularity. The victim can be seen cowering, trying to protect his head as he is repeatedly kicked in the head, jumped on, and attacked in ways that can only be described as attempted murder – of course, no one will actually be charged with attempted murder and because of PC democrat policies, these thugs will never be charged with a racially motivated hate crime either. Family Writes Hilarious Obituary For Prankster Dad Posted: 16 Sep 2019 11:00 AM PDT This is the obituary of Joseph "Joe" A. Heller, Jr via Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home: Joe Heller made his last undignified and largely irreverent gesture on September 8, 2019, signing off on a life, in his words, "generally well-lived and with few regrets." When the doctors confronted his daughters with the news last week that "your father is a very sick man," in unison they replied, "you have no idea." God thankfully broke the mold after Joe was born to the late Joseph Heller, Sr. and Ruth Marion (Clock) on January 24, 1937 in New Haven, CT. Being born during the depression shaped Joe's formative years and resulted in a lifetime of frugality, hoarding and cheap mischief, often at the expense of others. Being the eldest was a dubious task but he was up for the challenge and led and tortured his siblings through a childhood of obnoxious pranks, with his brother, Bob, generally serving as his wingman. Pat, Dick and Kathy were often on the receiving end of such lessons as "Ding Dong, Dogsh*t" and thwarting lunch thieves with laxative-laced chocolate cake and excrement meatloaf sandwiches. His mother was not immune to his pranks as he named his first dog, "Fart," so she would have to scream his name to come home if he wandered off. Yes, there's more here |
Business Owners: Google ‘Killing’ Companies Using ‘Shakedown’ Ad Tactics Posted: 16 Sep 2019 10:30 AM PDT As antitrust investigations into Google heat up, business owners are speaking out against one of the company's ad practices, known as "conquesting." Edible Arrangements CEO Tariq Farid says the practice is "killing" business for his franchisees, and Basecamp CEO Jason Fried called the tactic "a shakedown" and "ransom." Business Insider reports that a number of business owners are speaking out against Google's advertising practices as antitrust investigations into the Silicon Valley tech giant heat up. Specifically, a practice known as "conquesting" has been described by some business owners as "a shakedown" and "a ransom" by Google. Conquesting involves Google allowing competitors to buy ads specifically targeted at searches for company's names, resulting in ads showing up for their products above the organic search results Google users searched for. Former FBI Official McCabe Should Be Prosecuted–Justice Demands It Posted: 16 Sep 2019 09:45 AM PDT Former FBI Deputy Director and Acting Director Andrew McCabe deserves to be prosecuted on charges of lying to investigators. Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen has rejected a request by McCabe to block such a prosecution, Fox News reported Thursday after U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jessie Liu recommended prosecuting McCabe. This is the right decision by Rosen and Liu. The American people need to be reassured that the rules the FBI applies to the rest of us apply equally to its own agents and lawyers. Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz released a report last year concluding that McCabe lied to then-FBI Director James Comey, to other FBI agents, and to officials of the Office of the Inspector General about leaks to a Wall Street Journal reporter. McCabe made unauthorized disclosures about the FBI's investigation into the Clinton Foundation. He then lied about it when questioned, including under oath to the inspector general, Horowitz's report said. More |

Was Israel spying? Or was the StingRay story an anti-Bibi sting? Posted: 16 Sep 2019 09:15 AM PDT Israeli voters in the "very exciting" Sept. 17 Israeli elections should be skeptical of the weird story in recent days accusing the Israeli government of spying on the White House. American experience shows that if a news story toward the end of a close campaign seems outlandish, odds are that's because it's not true. Think of Dan Rather's false story in 2004 about George W. Bush's supposed draft dodging. Less famously, allies of Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana planted fake news in a Mexican paper in the closing days of her very close 2002 reelection campaign, to the effect that the Republican Bush administration had made a secret deal with Mexico adverse to Louisiana sugar interests. By speaking as the supposed defender of her state's cane farmers, Landrieu narrowly won her race. So now we come to the Politico story that cites unnamed former officials claiming that cellphone surveillance devices found near the White House last year were "most likely" the work of Israel. My well-informed colleague Tom Rogan thinks the allegation is true. I don't. First, as noted, consider the timing. More |
Majority of Hispanics Support Ending Welfare-Dependent Immigration Posted: 16 Sep 2019 09:00 AM PDT A majority of Hispanic Americans support President Trump's seeking to prevent welfare-dependent legal immigrants from permanently resettling in the United States, a new poll finds. In August, the Trump administration published a regulation that ensures legal immigrants would be less likely to secure permanent residency in the U.S. if they have used any forms of welfare in the past, including using subsidized healthcare services, food stamps, and public housing — saving American taxpayers billions. The latest Harvard/Harris Poll finds Hispanic Americans, by a majority of 56 percent, support denying permanent residency to immigrants who are known to have used welfare or are likely to use welfare. Likewise, a majority of 65 percent of Hispanic Americans said illegal aliens should not be allowed to draw from taxpayer-funded welfare programs, as well as 71 percent of black Americans. More |
Flynn attorney requests 'Brady' material to prove feds withheld evidence Posted: 16 Sep 2019 08:30 AM PDT Retired Army Gen. Michael Flynn is picking up where Republicans left off last year as he tries to turn the FBI inside out to find new evidence. The House GOP in 2017-18 launched an aggressive investigation into decisions by the Barack Obama administration to put the FBI's Russia probe squarely on President Trump and his colleagues. Among other discoveries, Republicans found out that the FBI relied on a now-discredited Democratic Party-financed dossier to obtain wiretaps and run down its anti-Trump allegations. The midterm elections ousted GOP House control, stopping the inquisitors. Now Flynn's new attorney Sidney Powell has filed court motions to try to unearth documents on how the FBI pursued not just the former general but the Trump cast. Ms. Powell, a Texas appeals attorney, wants to prove that former special counsel Robert Mueller didn't abide by U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan's "Brady" order in February 2018. (The term derives from the 1963 U.S. Supreme Court decision in Brady v. Maryland that mandates that prosecutors turn over exculpatory evidence to the defense.) Michael Caputo, a Trump campaign adviser, says Ms. Powell has documented Justice Department chicanery in the past. More |
Posted: 16 Sep 2019 08:00 AM PDT The Trump administration reportedly canceled three projects to build parts of the barrier wall at the U.S. southern border in Arizona and California. A Friday court filing by the legal team representing the Trump administration in a civil suit indicated funds for the three construction projects were insufficient to continue building. The lawsuit, filed against the president and several Cabinet members in February, accuses the administration of illegally declaring a state of emergency in order to obtain funding for the border wall. The Center for Biological Diversity and several other environmental organizations are named as plaintiffs in the case. More |
How the f--- do I become president? Democrats adopt swearing as a campaign strategy Posted: 16 Sep 2019 07:30 AM PDT A number of low-polling 2020 Democrats are adopting the use of bad language in a bid to gain media attention and propel themselves to relevancy. Beto O'Rourke began dropping a number of F-bombs when speaking about issues like gun violence around the time his campaign began a relaunch after he failed to gain any traction in polls. "Members of the press, what the f---?!" O'Rourke asked in August following the El Paso, Texas, shooting. That was followed up with another F-word-laden tirade. "We're averaging about 300 mass shootings a year. No other country comes close. So, yes, this is f---ed up," he said. O'Rourke then later explained he was just "being honest" and wished to "shock the conscience of the country." More |
Secondhand vaping: The latest vaping health risk Posted: 16 Sep 2019 07:00 AM PDT When vaping first gained popularity, it was marketed as a healthier alternative to traditional cigarettes. However, a recent surge in illnesses, hospitalizations -- and even deaths -- has shown that there may be much scarier health risks associated with e-cigarettes than we thought. Products like Juul are wildly addictive and popular among teens, leading to what some are calling an epidemic of nicotine use. Lately, researchers have been discovering that it's not only those who use vaping products themselves who are harmed -- other people in the vicinity can be breathing in "secondhand" fumes, a phenomenon now dubbed "secondhand vaping." GM workers will go on strike, the latest stoppage in a global trend of large-scale labor action Posted: 16 Sep 2019 06:30 AM PDT UAW workers will launch their first nationwide strike in 12 years, and the largest strike by any union since 2007. At least 46,000 hourly General Motors employees will take to the picket line at midnight Monday, according to representatives from their union, United Auto Workers (UAW), as a result of stagnating contract negotiations with the Detroit-based automaker. This will be UAW's first nationwide strike in 12 years. Representatives for GM and UAW have been meeting for contract negotiations since July in order to hammer out details on wages, healthcare, benefits, profit sharing, and job security for both permanent and temporary workers. The union was also pushing for GM to reconsider the proposed closures of four facilities. Throughout, leaders on both sides expressed hope that they would reach an agreement, according to the Detroit News. But GM workers' contracts expired at midnight on Saturday with no agreement yet reached. At a press conference in Detroit on Sunday morning, Terry Dittes, a UAW vice president who leads the union's GM efforts, said a strike was "our last resort." More |
Illegal Immigration Costs Americans $300 Billion Each Year Posted: 16 Sep 2019 06:15 AM PDT Illegal immigration costs Americans more than $300 billion a year, President Donald Trump tweeted Friday. The tweet comes as a growing number of Democrat legislators and 2020 candidates step up demands for taxpayers to provide more healthcare to illegal migrants. "Illegal Immigration costs the USA over 300 Billion Dollars a year. There is no reason for this, and things are being set in motion to have this number come WAY DOWN. Democrats could end Loopholes and it would be a whole lot easier, and faster. But it will all happen anyway!...." The slam comes after Trump knocked the Democrats' 2020 candidates in June for promising to provide illegals with Americans' healthcare. "All Democrats just raised their hands for giving millions of illegal aliens unlimited healthcare. How about taking care of American Citizens first!? That's the end of that race!" More |
Groups sue to block Trump's order for citizenship data collection Posted: 16 Sep 2019 06:00 AM PDT Immigrant rights groups sued the Trump administration Friday over the president's plan to collect citizenship data through federal agencies, which will then share that information to states, arguing the move is unlawful and discriminatory. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Maryland, asks the judge to block President Trump's executive order issued in July. The groups say the data is going to disadvantage minorities and non-citizens when lawmakers draw new congressional district maps. They charge the move is motivated by racial animus, upending federal law and violating constitutional rights. "Voters will be denied their constitutionally guaranteed rights to equitable political representation based on actual population," read the complaint. More |

Michelle Malkin Confronts Sanctuary County Official: ‘Don’t You Care About Women?’ Posted: 16 Sep 2019 04:00 AM PDT During her sanctuary city tour for her latest book, Open Borders Inc: Who's Funding America's Destruction?, columnist Michelle Malkin confronted a Maryland sanctuary city official, asking him "Don't you care about women?" following a series of alleged rapes and sexual assaults by illegal aliens in his jurisdiction. Malkin, along with Angel Families and concerned Americans, protested in the sanctuary county of Montgomery County, Maryland in support for national borders, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, and immigration controls. In less than two months, eight illegal aliens in Montgomery County have been arrested on rape or sexual assault charges against women and sometimes children. In the latest case, 26-year-old Oluwakayode Adewole Adebusuyi was freed by the sanctuary county before he allegedly went on to rape a woman in his car. While protesting, Malkin confronted Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich over the Montgomery County Council's recent statement in which they suggested residents opposed to illegal immigration are "Neo-Nazi sympathizers."
