Parents Spend more time on devices than their Kids

That could be the mantra of parents who teach their children how much time to spend on their iPhones, Androids, tablets, computers and watching television. Parents with tweens and teens (children aged eight to 18 years of age) spend over 9 hours with screen media each day, according to "The Common Sense Census: Plugged-In Parents of Tweens and Teens," a survey of 1,700 such parents by Common Sense Media, a San Francisco-based organization that examines the impact of technology and media on families. That compares to the more than 4.5 hours of screen media tweens spend on screen media on average every day and 6.5 hours spent by teenagers every day, a similar survey last year of more than 2,650 children by the same organization.

"We hope that taking an honest look at how parents use media and tech, how they manage and monitor their kids, and how they talk to kids about media will help us all raise media-savvy kids and good digital citizens," said Michael Robb, director of research at Common Sense Media and author of the latest study. Georgia executes its 9th inmate of 2016, most in US

Georgia executed its ninth inmate this year on Tuesday night, putting to death a man convicted of killing his father-in-law more than a quarter century ago.

William Sallie, 50, was pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m. after a lethal injection at the state prison in Jackson.

Lawyers who sought to block William Sallie's execution said he should be granted a new trial because of alleged juror bias, but courts haven't properly considered that evidence because he missed a filing deadline by eight days at a time when he didn't have a lawyer, his lawyers said in court filings.

Georgia has put to death more people this year than any other state, including Texas with seven.

Sallie was convicted of murder in the fatal shooting of John Lee Moore in March 1990. His first conviction and death sentence were overturned because his attorney had a conflict of interest.

Election recount adding to Trump’s winning margin

Though her effort has virtually no chance of changing the outcome of the presidential election, Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein continued Monday her recount in three battleground states won by Donald Trump, suing Pennsylvania election officials in federal court hours after a federal judge in Michigan granted her request to begin a statewide recount without delay.

Official figures show Trump defeated Clinton by 10,704 votes in Michigan, 68,236 in Pennsylvania and 27,257 in Wisconsin.

In Wisconsin, four days of recounting only has added to Trump's margin of victory, with the president-elect netting 39 votes as of Sunday night, the Washington Free Beacon reported, citing a spreadsheet of votes on the Wisconsin Election Commission's website. More than 1 million of the nearly 3 million votes cast in the state have been recounted.

Donald Trump, who has 306 Electoral College votes to Clinton's 232, tweeted Sunday that Stein's effort is merely a "scam to raise money."

Regulated Firearm Purchase Application Process Goes On-Line January 1st

(PIKESVILLE, MD) – As part of Maryland State Police efforts to improve customer service, the process of applying to purchase a regulated firearm is moving from paper forms filled out by hand, to an on-line automated system expected to increase efficiency and improve the process for both customers and firearms dealers.

Beginning January 1, 2017, persons applying to purchase a regulated firearm in Maryland will conduct the entire process on-line via the Maryland State Police Licensing Portal. This includes completing the application forms and paying the required application fee. Individuals will be able to apply on-line using a computer, tablet, or mobile phone, regardless of the operating system. All current web browsers are also supported by the new system.

Currently, a person wishing to purchase a regulated firearm must complete the required Form 77R and the related paperwork by hand. This paperwork is submitted to a firearms dealer or State Police barrack and then forwarded to the Maryland State Police Licensing Division, where background checks are conducted to ensure the applicant is not prohibited from purchasing a regulated firearm.

Little has changed in the questions and forms being completed as part of the purchase application process. Applicants will continue to provide the same information currently required on the Form 77R.

There will be two differences in the new process. First, every applicant will need an email account. This will enable the applicant to receive follow-up and reminder correspondence from the State Police Licensing Division. Second, submission of the electronic application requires the use of a credit or debit card. All transactions with the Licensing Division regarding regulated firearm purchases will be done by credit or debit card only, beginning January 1, 2017. The $10 application fee will remain the same.

When the on-line application is completed by a firearm dealer or barrack, it will be submitted electronically to the State Police Licensing Division, rather than being mailed or faxed as has been done in the past. The electronic submission of the completed form by the dealer or barrack will begin the seven-day waiting period required by law, during which the required background checks are conducted to determine if the applicant is prohibited from purchasing a regulated firearm.

Maryland State Police Licensing Division staff solicited input, advice and feedback from firearms dealers regarding the design of the new Licensing Portal application process. It is believed this may be the first time Maryland firearms dealers have been included in a focus group that had direct input on the design and work flow of a system related to the state's firearms purchasing process. The project team worked hard to emphasize to firearms dealers that this new process was intended to be developed with their involvement.

In addition to designing, documenting and testing the on-line system, Maryland State Police Licensing Division personnel have been busy conducting training in the new process. Seminars for firearm dealers have been conducted throughout the state, with more than 300 dealers attending. Training has been provided to State Police barrack duty officers who most often deal with secondary sales of regulated firearms that must also go through the background check process and to allied law enforcement agency personnel who perform certain tasks related to regulated firearm transfers.

Licensing Division personnel developed posters and information cards alerting consumers to the pending automation. Those publicity items were delivered in-person to each dealer in the state in an effort to have face-to-face interaction with dealers about the new process and answer any questions they had.

The Licensing Division project team has also developed a computer lab where, beginning in mid-December, firearms dealers will be able to have hands-on experience with the new automation system and receive more personal training. Time in the computer lab must be scheduled in advance with the Licensing Division.

The new regulated firearm purchase procedure has nothing to do with the requirement in Maryland to have a handgun qualification license (HQL) or approved HQL exemption before beginning the process to purchase a regulated firearm. The handgun qualification license application process has been an on-line procedure since it became law in Maryland in the fall of 2013.

The goal of the automated 77R application process is to increase the ease and efficiency of purchasing a regulated firearm in Maryland. The on-line completion of forms will eliminate legibility issues and decrease data processing errors. The Maryland State Police Licensing Division staff is continuing their efforts to promptly approve those eligible to purchase regulated firearms, while ensuring those prohibited by law are not approved to complete the purchase process.

"Everybody cut loose".. but be prepared to pay for it in Europe. As Martin Armstrong notes, if you dance in a bar in Brussels, you must pay a tax!

The patrons of Bonnefooi, a cafe in the center of Brussels, last week received a visit from a City inspector.

The inspector asked them to pay the "tax dance." Yes you read correctly. Brussels has a "dancing tax" written in the 50´s and as the government needs money, they have "revitalized" this tax since 2014.

For every customer who dances in a bar the owner has to pay €0.40 per night. They sent incognito civil servants to uphold this law.

There is an endless supply of old laws still on the books that have not been enforced, yet could be to raise money. In Florida, you are not allowed to have construction workers around on weekends. In some states, old laws required you to pull your car off the road if it frightened a horse. If the horse was still terrified, you were required to dissemble your car until the horse was calm.

They tried outlawing condoms back in the 1950s. That went to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1965 under Griswold v. Connecticut (1965), where the Supreme Court ruled that a state's ban on the use of contraceptives violated the right to marital privacy. The case concerned a Connecticut law that criminalized the encouragement or use of birth control. Since the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare as a tax, anything goes. They can put a special tax on condoms and get away with that one and rake in billions.

2 juveniles charged in Tennessee wildfires that killed 14

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities have charged two juveniles for starting an East Tennessee wildfire that killed 14 people and destroyed or damaged more than 1,700 buildings.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, local District Attorney General James Dunn and Great Smoky Mountains National Park announced charges at a news conference Wednesday.

Dunn said the juveniles face aggravated arson charges for the fire in the Chimney Tops area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Nov. 23. The fire spread to the Gatlinburg area, causing widespread damage. They're being held in the Sevier County juvenile detention center.

Sen. Rand Paul: I Can Hardly Watch CNN Anymore Because It’s So Biased

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) was a guest on Tuesday'sBreitbart News Daily, where he joined SiriusXM host Matt Boyle in critiquing the legacy media's coverage of the 2016 election.

"You know, I think they're so openly partisan that I can't even hardly turn on CNN in the morning, that they're going on and on about potential conflicts of interest," Paul said. "Not that they've said this is a conflict of interest. They just go on and on and on, so it's clearly a partisan network, and there's no news."

"During the campaign cycle, they must have spent hours of media time talking about how, 'No, Donald Trump really wasn't against the Iraq War because he nodded his head one time during an interview with Howard Stern on a question with the Iraq War,'" Paul recalled. "What they missed by doing that, by being so partisan, what they miss is, there really was a substantive difference between Trump and Clinton on the Iraq War, regime change, and nation-building."

He noted that "Trump has reiterated, as recently as in the last week or two … that we don't have enough money to build nations overseas; we need to rebuild our country."

“Uncle Tony” Legacy Endures Offshore With Lasting Memorial

OCEAN CITY — Roughly nine miles off the coast of Ocean City, a quiet memorial and final resting place of a beloved long-time resort local, who passed a year ago this month, is now symbolically teeming with life as part of growing artificial reef site.

Tony Meredith, known reverently and affectionately as "Uncle Tony" by the hundreds of long-time locals who knew him best, passed away last Dec. 1, but his memory and legacy live on at a quiet artificial reef site about nine miles off the coast of Ocean City known as the Bass Grounds. Meredith and his twin brother Bill, both avid fishermen, hunters and golfers, among other things, owned and operated a security business for years before retiring to the resort area to enjoy the good life and the fruits of their labor.

In 2008, the Ocean City Reef Foundation was offered an opportunity to acquire part of a batch of 600 retired New York City subway cars for deployment on the growing network of artificial reefs off the coast of the resort and a massive fundraising effort was launched. The Ocean City Reef Foundation ultimately was able to acquire two batches of the retired "Red Bird" subway cars thanks in large part to generous donations from the local fishing community.

Dallas Pension Showdown: Mayor Seeks To "Target Those Who Got Rich From System"

The Dallas Police and Fire Pension plan is severely underfunded. Not even a $1.1 billion taxpayer bailout the plan officials request will make the plan whole.

Discussion of a possible freeze in lump sum payments led to a run on withdrawals. The board still has not suspended lump sum payouts.

On Saturday, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings proposed targeting those who got rich from the system. This is sure to accelerate the run on assets via lump sum withdrawals.

Today, DallasNews reports City's plan to save Dallas Police and Fire Pension Fund will target those who got rich from the system.

A City Council briefing posted online late Friday night provided the first glimpse into the city's plan to save the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System from insolvency within the next decade or so. Rawlings and the City Council will discuss the plan Wednesday.

While the presentation is short on details, Rawlings said he can be clear about a few aspects. The city won't pay the $1.1 billion bailout that pension officials want. Taxpayers will chip in, but he doesn't want to issue debt to pay for it. Base benefits will be protected. And the city's general philosophy is that those who profited from the overly generous benefits will have to take part in the banquet of consequences.

Gov. Larry Hogan Announces Paid Sick Leave Proposal

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Gov. Larry Hogan said Wednesday he will propose a "common sense" paid sick leave measure to balance the needs of employees without hurting the state's small businesses.

A leading Democrat who has been working on legislation, however, doubts the Republican governor's proposal goes far enough to win support from advocates who have been pushing for legislation for several years.

Under Hogan's plan, businesses with 50 or more employees would be required to offer paid sick leave of at least 40 hours a year. That would include the ability for employees to roll over a maximum of 40 hours annually.

Maryland businesses with fewer than 50 employees that choose to offer paid sick leave will be eligible for tax relief incentives modeled after a recommendation from a bipartisan panel that studied ways to improve Maryland's business climate.

There are 3,141 counties in the United States.
Trump won 3,084 of them.
Clinton won 57.

There are 62 counties in New York State.
Trump won 46 of them.
Clinton won 16.

Clinton won the popular vote by approximately 1.5 million votes.
In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump.
(Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond)

Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.
These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.

The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles.
When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.

Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc) don't and shouldn't speak for the rest of our country.

On 12/10/16 at 8:00 AM, the Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack will be hosting its 4th Annual Shop With a Cop. The Worcester County Board of Education has identified 20 elementary school students from throughout the county to participate in this year's holiday Shop With a Cop. Each of the students will be paired with a Maryland State Trooper who will be giving the children tours of the Barrack, show and tell with police vehicles, and providing each with an honorary Junior Maryland Trooper Badge.

The Trooper/Student pairs will then be transported, via MSP Bus, to the Wal-Mart in Berlin where each of the students will be provided $100 each to spend as they wish as they "Shop with a Cop."

After shopping, participants will be provided lunch as volunteers wrap gifts that the children have bought for family and friends.

This program has continued over the past four years with generous support of Wal-Mart and the National Wal-Mart Foundation, Harbor Marine in West Ocean City, Denovo's Trattoria Restaurant in Ocean Pines, Chic-Fil-A in West Ocean City, Atlantic Physical Therapy in Ocean Pines, the Makemie Memorial Presbyterian Women, private citizen donations, The Worcester County Board of Education, The Worcester County Health Department, The Worcester County CRICKET Center, and the men and woman, both sworn and civilian, of the Maryland State Police Salisbury, Princess Anne, and Berlin Barracks.

Vote Fraud in Michigan Favored Hillary Clinton, Not Trump

Votes in heavily pro-Clinton areas counted twice

Optical ballot scanners in Michigan that malfunctioned on election night and may have counted votes twice were situated in heavily Democratic areas, meaning that any vote fraud in the state actually favored Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump.

The revelation is buried in a Guardian article which discusses broken voting machines in Detroit and one-third of surrounding Wayne County, where Hillary Clinton won in a landslide;

"Eighty-seven of Wayne County's decade-old voting machines broke on election day, according to Detroit's elections director, Daniel Baxter. He told the Detroit News, which first reported the story, that ballot scanners often jammed when polling place workers were trying to operate them. Every time a jammed ballot was removed and reinserted, he suspects the machine may have re-counted it."

Ohio 'heartbeat' abortion bill heads to governor's desk

An Ohio bill that would ban abortions once a fetal heartbeat can be detected is headed to the governor's desk.

Lawmakers in the Republican-controlled state House voted to approve the so-called "heartbeat bill" Tuesday night after it passed in the Senate earlier in the day, clearing the way for what would be one of the nation's most stringent abortion restrictions.

The legislation would prohibit most abortions as early as six weeks into pregnancy after the first detectable heartbeat.

Gov. John Kasich, an abortion opponent, has previously voiced concerns about whether such a move would be constitutional. He has not said whether he plans to sign the measure.

Virginia teen accidentally kills his 16-year-old friend while deer hunting

A 17-year-old boy accidentally shot his friend late Friday afternoon in a hunting accident in Virginia.

The teen mistook his 16-year-old hunting companion for a deer, the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries said.

Investigators said the incident took place on private property on Mt Carmel Road in Charlotte County.

The victim was standing in an agricultural field and the shooter was 150 to 200 yards away. The 16-year-old died at the scene.

Authorities determined that both were wearing blaze orange and had taken hunter education classes.

The department says both teens had hunting licenses.

Suspect 1: Eric Anthony Lemon, 21 year old male
Suspect 2: Diante Maurice Purnell, 28 year old male
Suspect 3: Dominic Keith Chandler, 26 year old male
Suspect 4: Jamal Marcus Church, 25 year old male (still attempting to locate)
Narrative: On October 28, 2016 at approximately 11:00 p.m. the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office responded to the 700-block of Dennis Street, Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, in reference to a home invasion-robbery. The victim stated he was home alone when the suspects forced entry into his residence. The suspects were armed with firearms and proceeded to beat the victim. The victim received injuries as a result of the assault. The suspects proceeded to steal items from the home and fled the area. The victim was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for his injuries. The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) responded and assumed the investigation.
On November 29, 2016, detectives were able to identify all four suspects involved in the home invasion-robbery and are identified as Eric Anthony Lemon, Diante Maurice Purnell, Dominic Keith Chandler, and Jamal Marcus Church.
On November 30, 2016 CID detectives with the assistance of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team and the Salisbury Police Tactical Team, executed four search warrants at the following locations:
700- Block of Richmond Avenue, Salisbury, Maryland
600-Block of Morris Street, Salisbury, Maryland
700-Block of Dennis Street, Salisbury, Maryland
900-Block of East Road, Salisbury, Maryland
Lemon, Purnell, and Chandler were located and arrested during the execution the search and seizure warrants. Additionally, three firearms were located and seized during the search of the homes. Lemon, Purnell and Chandler were charged and are being held without bond, at the Wicomico County Detention Center.
Detectives are still attempting to locate Jamal Marcus Church. Anyone with information about this case or the location of Jamal Church are urged to call Detective Robert Wilson at 410-548-4898.

Narrative:  The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Community Action Team (CAT) had received information that Tyvon Keyon Davis (28 year old male) was selling controlled dangerous substances, from his home, in the area of the 200-Block of Clover Street, Salisbury, Maryland. After receiving this information, a criminal investigation was initiated. On November 17, 2016, members of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Community Action Team (CAT), assisted by members of the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) executed a search and seizure warrant at Davis' residence. During the execution of this warrant, Deputies located an amount of cocaine, which was packaged in a manner indicative of distribution. Deputies also located a digital scale and a sum of U.S. currency in the residence. Davis was charged with various traffic charges, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance and other related charges. A District Court Commissioner set bond for Davis, in the amount of $50,000. Davis was released after posting this bond.

Leaked email: Comedy skits produced to make Clintons look good

The Colbert Report apparently colluded with the Clinton Foundation to create a favorable public opinion of the controversial organization, according to an email released by Wikileaks.

In the 2013 email, Craig Minassian, the foundation's Chief Communications Officer, said he had the comedy show produce two skits about the Clinton Global Initiative which promoted positive aspects of the Clinton Foundation.

"John, I hope you got a chance to see The Colbert Report's two special episodes I had them do about CGI University that we taped in St. Louis this weekend," wrote Minassian. "This is the link to last night's with a sketch about commitments and the monologue and WJC [Bill Clinton] interview aired Monday."

    BREAKING: STUDENT ASSAULTS ADMINISTRATORS AND PRINCIPAL AT JMB HIGH

    CNN Boss Admits "Democrats Bigger First Amendment Threat Than Trump"

    In a somewhat shocking admission in this age of 'fake' news and paid liars, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes told Business Insider's Henry Blodget on Tuesday that the "real threat" to the First Amendment did not come from President-elect Donald Trump during the campaign, but rather from the Democratic Party.

    Bewkes' own media property, CNN had suffered serial (and rightful) abuse from Donald Trump throughout the election campaign (and still since his election) with frequent threats to open up libel laws...

    BI's Blodgett asked Bewkes "Do you worry about that at all?" His response left many shaking their heads...

    Bewkes said he didn't "think that's a serious thing," adding that "we should all worry" if someone were seeking to change the First Amendment. He suggested that came from the Democratic Party, which "had a campaign plank to change the First Amendment, and they were doing it in the guise of campaign finance reform."

    "And that was worrying me more," Bewkes said. "The press tends to miss that because they tend to lean that way, and therefore they were supporting what they were viewing - I think overly charitably - as something in cleaning up money in politics when in fact what it would do is restrain multiple voices."

    Pentagon buries evidence of $125 billion in bureaucratic waste

    The Pentagon has buried an internal study that exposed $125 billion in administrative waste in its business operations amid fears Congress would use the findings as an excuse to slash the defense budget, according to interviews and confidential memos obtained by The Washington Post.

    Pentagon leaders had requested the study to help make their enormous back-office bureaucracy more efficient and reinvest any savings in combat power. But after the project documented far more wasteful spending than expected, senior defense officials moved swiftly to kill it by discrediting and suppressing the results.

    The report, issued in January 2015, identified "a clear path" for the Defense Department to save $125 billion over five years. The plan would not have required layoffs of civil servants or reductions in military personnel. Instead, it would have streamlined the bureaucracy through attrition and early retirements, curtailed high-priced contractors and made better use of information technology.

    House gently kills IRS impeachment resolution

    House Republicans on Tuesday mercy-killed a resolution calling for the impeachment of IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, but did it their way, not the way most Democrats wanted to kill it off.

    The resolution was put forward by House Freedom Caucus Chairman Jim Jordan, who argued Koskinen had not been forthcoming to Congress about an investigation into the IRS targeting of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. Jordan announced the impeachment for "high crimes and misdemeanors," and outlined four articles of impeachment against Koskinen, all revolving around the investigation into the IRS targeting.

    After the resolution was proposed, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., asked for the motion to be tabled. Lawmakers rejected her motion in a mostly party-line vote, 180-235.

    Immediately afterwards, however, the House voted to approve a Republican motion to refer the resolution back to the Judiciary Committee. That proposal easily passed, 342-72, and while it had an air of keeping the resolution alive, the vote effectively killed the plan, since the House is expected to adjourn for the year by the end of this week.

    New York magazine reported Monday that many women in Washington D.C. are dealing with President-elect Donald Trump's victory by cutting or dying their hair.

    Julianna Evans, who works for a performing-arts company, told NY magazine that she "cried for three days" following Trump's win. She said, "it was catastrophic."

    Despite being distraught over Trump's victory, Evans did not lose her will. NY Magazine wrote that Evans, "put on her big-girl panties and dragged herself to the drugstore." She then bravely grabbed "Natural Black box by Garnier." Evans said, "I was like, fuck it! The election deadened my soul. I think I wanted to do something defiant to feel stronger."

"First of all, the college you were referencing in your rant about the American flag is a private college and doesn't receive federal funding. However…the very essence of freedom in this country is our right to speak out against the flag, which is a mere symbol. If you take away that right, then we have lost all freedom."

    "You really need to take a civics course," she added. "I used to like you; but, you have really become very annoying to me in recent years. I thought you were more intelligent. But, I guess appearances aren't everything."

    News has travelled the world that an organised gang based in Ghana ran a fake embassy selling real US visas for $6,000 (£4,700) for "about a decade". How did they get away with it for so long?

    The US State Department says Ghanaian and Turkish organised crime rings were running the fake embassy complete with a US flag and a portrait of President Barack Obama "unhindered... for about a decade".

    The faded building couldn't have looked more different to the real embassy.

    But, as journalist Sammy Darko in Accra explained on Focus on Africa, the customers have most probably never been to an embassy before so didn't know what to expect.

    "They also find white people there and they assume that it is the US embassy," he added.

    Supreme Court sides with Samsung in its patent fight with Apple

    The Supreme Court on Tuesday unanimously reversed and remanded a lower court's ruling that said Samsung must pay Apple $399 million as a penalty for infringing on Apple's smartphone patents.

    Justice Sonia Sotomayor delivered the 8-0 opinion handing Samsung a partial win on Tuesday, as the case is headed back to a lower court.

    The high court held that the federal circuit erred by defining "article of manufacture" in a way that benefited Apple, as it required Samsung to pay penalties as if its entire phone were based on designs stolen from Apple. The Supreme Court's decision reversed that to Samsung's benefit, by saying a smaller penalty can be assessed if only some components of the products design were stolen.

    At issue in Samsung v. Apple were Apple's iPhone design patents for the mobile phones' rectangular shape and rounded corners with a certain graphical on-screen design.

    Donald Trump to attend Army-Navy game Saturday in Baltimore

    WASHINGTON (AP) — President-elect Donald Trump is slated to attend the annual Army-Navy football game this Saturday in Baltimore.

    Transition officials said Tuesday that Trump would attend the 117th annual game. He will sit on Navy's side of the field for one half of the game, and on Army's side for the other.

    The game between the two military academies has long drawn commander in chiefs. President Barack Obama attended the game in 2011. President George W. Bush also attended the game while in office.

    The game is held at a neutral site and in recent years has largely alternated between Baltimore and Philadelphia. Navy has won the game 14 straight years.

    House to vote this week on IRS impeachment

    Rep. Jim Jordan announced Tuesday he will introduced a resolution today to impeach IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, setting up a vote this week in the House on impeachment.

    "John Koskinen needs to be held accountable," the Ohio Republican said at a forum hosted by Judicial Watch. "Later today on the House floor, we will make the motion to impeach Mr. Koskinen."

    Jordan's plan is to call up an impeachment resolution, which will require some form of action by the House within two days, setting up a vote before lawmakers leave for the rest of the year. If lawmakers challenged it — for example, by making a motion to table it — a vote would be held on that motion, and that vote would essentially become a proxy vote for impeachment.

    It's not clear what will become of the resolution. It takes a simple majority for the House to impeach someone, but Democrats are unlikely to support impeachment, and many House GOP lawmakers are also wary of impeaching Koskinen, arguing his actions don't meet the threshold needed for Congress to oust an administration official.

    Half Of Detroit Could Be Ineligible For Michigan Recount

    Over half of Detroit's 662 voting precincts may be ineligible for the ongoing Michigan recount, since the number of ballots in precinct poll books do not match those from voting machine printout reports.

    More than a third of precincts in Wayne County, Michigan's largest county and home to Detroit, could be disqualified from the statewide recount because county officials, "couldn't reconcile vote totals for 610 of 1,680 precincts during a countywide canvass of vote results late last month," according to the Detroit News.

    Wayne County has over 1.7 million residents and voted overwhelmingly for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, at 95 percent. Krista Haroutunian, chair of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers, told the Detroit Free Press that the discrepancies could make 610 precincts across the county (including the 392 in Detroit), ineligible for recount. A final decision has not yet been made.

    Sometimes life forces us to make decisions, even when we don't have enough information to know how the decision will turn out. The risks may be even greater when people make decisions for other people. Yet there are some who are not only willing but eager, to take decisions away from those who are directly affected.

    Something as personal as what doctor we want to go to has been taken out of our hands by ObamaCare. What job offer, at what pay rate, someone wants to accept has been taken out of their hands by minimum wage laws.

    Sick people who are dying are prevented from trying a medication that has not yet completed all the long years of tests required by federal regulations — even if the medication has been used for years in other countries without ill effects.
    One by one, innumerable decisions have been taken out of the hands of those directly affected. This is not just something that has happened. It is a central part of the agenda of the political left, even though they describe what they are doing in terms of the bad things they claim to be preventing and the good things they claim to be creating.

    Minimum wage laws are described as preventing workers from being "exploited" by employers who pay less than what third parties want them to pay. But would people accept wages that third parties don't like if there were better alternatives available?

    NEW YORK (AP) — The government should cancel its multibillion-dollar order for new Air Force One presidential planes, Donald Trump declared Tuesday, serving notice he's ready to jump in and start making decisions six weeks before his inauguration.

    Costs for the two Boeing 747s are "totally out of control," Trump told reporters in the lobby of his New York skyscraper.

    The government has contracted with Boeing to build the planes, which would go into service around 2024. That means Trump wouldn't fly on the aircraft, which carry U.S. presidents around the globe, unless he pursued and won a second term. But the Air Force has pressed for a faster schedule, saying the current version is becoming too expensive to repair and keep in good flying shape.

    The contract for the planes was to be about $3 billion, but costs have been reported to be rising. Trump tweeted early Tuesday, "Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!"

    State Police Arrest Wicomico County Man Connected To Fruitland Homicide

    (Fruitland, MD) – Maryland State Police criminal investigators arrested a Wicomico County man connected to the homicide in Fruitland..

    The identification of the victim will be disclosed pending next of kin notification. The deceased individual was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsy.

    The accused is identified as Douglas Harlow, 47, of the 100 block of South Division Street in Fruitland, Maryland. Harlow is charged with first and second degree murder, first degree assault, reckless endangerment, assault with a deadly weapon, and improper disposal of a body. Harlow was taken into police custody without incident and is currently waiting to be seen by the District Court Commissioner in Wicomico County.

    At 10:00 p.m. last night, investigators from the Maryland State Apprehension Team and the Maryland State Police Gang Unit located Harlow at a trailer park in Salisbury, Maryland. He was arrested and then transported to the Salisbury Barrack for processing and later transported to the Wicomico County Detention Center.

    The Fruitland Police Department received information regarding a possible burial site located in the 100 block of South Division Street in Fruitland, Maryland. Yesterday, officers and investigators from the Fruitland Police Department immediately responded to the scene and discovered what appeared to be a burial site. The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit and Criminal Enforcement Division were immediately contacted for assistance.

    Maryland State Police investigators assigned to the Homicide Unit took the lead in the case with assistance provided by the Criminal Enforcement Division of the Lower Eastern Shore and the Fruitland Police Department.

    Suspect: Jesse William Robert Jenkins, 23, Tyaskin, MD
    Narrative: On 1 December 2016 at 10:12 AM a deputy responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the 23000 block of Mezick Road in Tyaskin. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that a physical confrontation had broken out between Jesse Jenkins and three other subjects inside the residence. During the investigation into this incident, the deputy was told that Jenkins was arguing with a female subject when another subject interceded in an attempt to shield this subject from Jenkins. Jenkins then allegedly threw this second subject to the ground which prompted a third subject to then intercede in an attempt to restrain Jenkins.
    Jenkins and this third subject engaged in a physical altercation that left this third subject with an injury to his arm. Further injury was suffered by both this third subject and Jenkins as they rolled on the floor together over Lego's.
    The deputy placed Jenkins under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Jenkins in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.

    Suspect: Kevin Scott Marshall, 27, Salisbury, MD
    Narrative: On 2 December 2016 at 2:08 AM a deputy stopped a vehicle operated by Kevin Marshall after the deputy observed Marshall operating his vehicle erratically. Upon making contact with Marshall, the deputy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Marshall. The odor, along with other indicators prompted the deputy to further investigate the possibility that Marshall was under the influence of alcohol.
    Based on the deputy's observations, Marshall was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI. Upon arrest, the deputy had to assist Marshall with walking to the patrol car as Marshall was having trouble waking in a straight line. While en route to the Sheriff's Office, Marshall struck the deputy with his head.
    During processing, Marshall refused to submit to a breath test.
    The deputy transported Marshall to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Jenkins in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.

    On Obama's Nod, Major Defense Contractors Plan To Build Jets In India

    The Obama administration gave the defense industry the go-ahead on plans to build classic American fighter jets in India.

    With the support of the current administration, both Lockheed Martin and Boeing have been in talks with the Indian government to build the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the F/A-18 Super Hornet for the Indian Air Force in India, according to the Washington Post.

    The companies intend to move their production facilities to India. Lockheed may relocate its entire F-16 assembly line, moving manufacturing from Texas to India.

    While the F-16 has been produced in other countries through joint ventures before, this could be the first time that the entire assembly line has been moved abroad.

    Firefighter brawl: 2 Md. volunteers indicted for blocking crews

    WASHINGTON — Two volunteer firefighters have been indicted for assaulting a career firefighter at the scene of a blaze in Prince George's County a year ago.

    The indictment, announced Tuesday, stems from an incident on Dec. 8, 2015, when officials say Jeffry Miller and Chris Kelly — both members of Volunteer Company 28 — fought with a career firefighter unit over who should go inside a fire in Hyattsville, Maryland.

    Career Company 30 was the first on the scene of the fire, but Kelly — who was not fully geared up — blocked the door so members of the career company could not go in before members of the volunteer company, said Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks.

    Kelly and a career firefighter were involved in a struggle on the front porch, and Kelly hit the career firefighter, knocking her off the porch. The career firefighter tried to enter the home again, and Miller grabbed her and pulled her off the porch, Alsobrooks said.

    Eric Holder Leading Organization to Help Dems Gerrymander

    As Democrats aim to start building back their own decimated bench, former Attorney General Eric Holder will chair a new umbrella group focused on redistricting reform — with the aim of taking on the "gerrymandering" that's left the party behind in statehouses and made winning a House majority far more difficult.

    The new group, called the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, was developed in close consultation with the White House. President Barack Obama himself has now identified the group — which will coordinate campaign strategy, direct fundraising, organize ballot initiatives and put together legal challenges to state redistricting maps — as the main focus of his political activity once he leaves office.

    Though initial plans to be active in this year's elections fell short, the group has been incorporated as a 527, with Democratic Governors Association executive director Elisabeth Pearson as its president and House Majority PAC executive director Ali Lapp as its vice president. They've been pitching donors and aiming to put together its first phase action plan for December, moving first in the Virginia and New Jersey state elections next year and with an eye toward coordination across gubernatorial, state legislative and House races going into the 2018 midterms.

    "American voters deserve fair maps that represent our diverse communities — and we need a coordinated strategy to make that happen," Holder said. "This unprecedented new effort will ensure Democrats have a seat at the table to create fairer maps after 2020."

    The gubernatorial candidates who win in 2017 and 2018 are the ones who'll be in office to approve the maps for the 2022 elections, put together by the state legislators elected along with them. The NDRC plans to hold regular meetings of Democratic groups and allies, building collaborative strategies on recruitment, ad spending, get-out-the-vote and other efforts to maximize resources and impact. House campaigns would then work with state Senate and assembly campaigns, unions, progressive organizations and others in high opportunity areas, hoping to push up their numbers as much as possible ahead of the 2020 census.

    Keith Ellison had a clear path to heading the DNC. He had the backing of Harry Reid and Schumer. He was the leading prog candidate. Howard Dean dropped out to clear the path for him. But the Investigative Project has stayed on this. It's released audio of some of his speeches, particularly to Muslim groups, and the content is certainly revealing.

    There are rants about Israel in this one. All the stuff you expect. But there are also revealing comments like these about the larger Islamist plan for America.

    There is a larger strategy to gain and build influence.

    "We need to have so much goods and services going back and forth between this country and the Muslim world that if we say we need this right here, then everybody is saying, OK. Do you understand my point? If you, I mean you've got to be strategic. And these things are not overnight, they're not a one and done.     Ocean City Letter States ‘Unconditional Opposition’ To Fishing Canyon Designation

    OCEAN CITY — Calling a potential designation of the offshore Baltimore Canyon as the nation's first Urban National Marine Sanctuary potentially "devastating" to the multi-million dollar fishing industry, resort officials this week agreed to send a letter of opposition to state and federal representatives.

    In October, National Aquarium officials announced they were seeking an Urban National Marine Sanctuary designation for the Baltimore Canyon, a vast 28-mile long and five-mile wide submarine canyon off the coast of Ocean City that lies at the center of the resort's multi-million dollar fishing industry. According to the National Aquarium's petition drive, a designation of the nation's first Urban National Marine Sanctuary for the Baltimore Canyon "presents a unique opportunity to connect an urban population to the ecological treasure using cutting edge deep sea exploration technology."

    The National Aquarium's announcement in October met with an immediate knee-jerk reaction from the resort's area's multi-million fishing industry, whose representatives fear a sanctuary designation would ultimately limit, restrict or perhaps prohibit recreational and commercial fishing in the canyon. During a meeting at the Ocean City Marlin Club late last month, aquarium officials assured fishing industry leaders the intent of the designation was not to impact fishing in the Baltimore Canyon, but could offer no assurances about potential changes in the uses allowed in the future.

    SEIU Texas Declares Bankruptcy After Losing Millions to Company

    The Texas chapter of one of the nation's most powerful unions filed for bankruptcy after losing a multi-million dollar lawsuit for its smear campaign against a Houston janitorial company.

    A jury ordered Service Employees International Union Texas, also known as SEIU District Five, to pay Professional Janitorial Service of Houston $7.8 million in September for making false claims about the company during a campaign to rally support from workers and local activists.

    A Texas judge rejected the union's request for a mistrial on November 15 and ordered it to hand over files associated with the case to the company for discovery.

    The union said that filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection reflects the best interests of its members given the costly judgement.

"Bankruptcy is a common process provided under the law to protect organizations—such as corporations, non-profits, unions etc.—and allows us to seek temporary relief from our debt while we continue to pursue our appeal of an unfair judgment."

    Brent Southwell, the CEO of the janitorial company, said it plans to continue seeking information from the union to ensure that it is not hiding money to dodge the jury award. He said the company could pursue action against the union's national office, which has more than 1.5 million members, if the Texas branch is not able to pay the judgment.

    It is alleged that Hillary Clinton won a popular vote majority. Therefore, if the nation were not burdened with the antiquated Electoral College, anguished and freaked-out Americans whine, she, instead of Donald Trump, would be the next president of the United States.

    You say, "Hold it. Before you go further, Williams, what do you mean it is alleged that Clinton received most of the popular vote? It's a fact." I say "alleged" because according to Gregg Phillips of True the Vote, an estimated 3 million noncitizens voted. Presumably, those votes went to Clinton.

    In 2000, Al Gore won the popular vote just as Hillary Clinton allegedly did. Such outcomes have led to calls to abandon the Constitution's Article 2 provision for the state electors to select presidents. Despite the fact that the system has served us well for over 200 years, many Americans now call for its abandonment in favor of electing presidents by popular vote. Before we abandon the Electoral College, let's consider the function it performs.

    According to 2013 census data, nine states — California, Texas, New York, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia and Michigan — have populations that total roughly 160 million, slightly more than half the U.S. population. It is conceivable that just nine states could determine the presidency in a popular vote. The Electoral College gives states with small populations a measure of protection against domination by states with large populations. It levels the political playing field a bit.

    Donald Trump broke no rule in his controversial phone call with the Taiwanese president – but instead signaled in foreign relations, "we either deal with each other as equals or we don't deal with each other at all," according to lawyer, writer and retired Army Col. Kurt Schlichter.

    The era of pacifying world leaders is over under the president-elect, Schlichter, author of "People's Republic," told Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live" on Monday.

    "It would never occur to me to presume to tell the Chinese who they can and can't talk to. That's not how countries act," he said.

    "It's become the way America acts as President [Barack] Obama gets down on his knees to every tin potentate," he continued. "Donald Trump is sending out a signal, 'that stops now. We either deal with each other as equals or we don't deal with each other at all.'"

    When asked about his comment by a reporter later in the day, Trump reiterated his objections.

    "The plane is totally out of control. It's going to be over $4 billion for the Air Force One program and I think it's ridiculous," Trump later said to a reporter at Trump Tower. "I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money."

    Boeing has responded to the President-elect's statement, saying they look forward to delivering "the best value" for taxpayers.

    So, was Donald Trump out of line to publicly blast Boeing? Hardly.

    Update: Trump Up By 70,000 Votes in Wisconsin Recount So Far

    According to current totals, Trump appears to be up by about 69,899 recount votes.

    The City of Milwaukee's absentee ballots still have yet to be recounted.

    "Milwaukee counts its absentee ballots centrally (not at the polling place) on Election Night," the state's election commission website says. "When those absentee ballots have been counted the numbers will be updated."

    Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) talked with SiriusXM host Matt Boyle on Tuesday'sBreitbart News Daily about his hopes for President-elect Donald Trump's foreign policy, as expressed through his choice for secretary of state.

    Paul said he has "looked at the Secretary of State position as probably one of the most important picks that will come up" and hoped Trump would choose "somebody who understands that the Iraq War was a mistake."

    As one of ten Republicans on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Paul's vote could be decisive, should all nine Democrats on the committee stand together against Trump's nominee.

    "Regime change hasn't made us safer, that in order to build … here at home, to rebuild it, we can't build and spend billions of dollars overseas building other people's infrastructure," Paul contended. "Some of the people he's appointed, I think, have understood this. General Flynn has said that the historical lesson of the Iraq War was that it was a strategic failure, so I think Flynn gets it, and I'm hoping he'll give him that advice as his national security adviser."

    Obama family travel, vacations, cross $85 million mark

    The first family has spent over $10 million a year on travel and vacations, and the still growing bill has crossed over $85 million in eight years, according to a watchdog group.

    Judicial Watch, which has charted the travel of presidents for years, on Monday said that it has received a new batch of bills for the first family's Christmas break in Hawaii, bringing that trip to nearly $5 million. The Obama's are expected to return to Hawaii this Christmas.

    The expenses cover items such as security, flights and hotel rooms for staff and U.S. Secret Service. They do not include the price of prepositioning ships and aircraft in the area or much of the communications costs.

    Trump picked Dr. Ben Carson to run the Department of Housing and Urban Development, which means that Carson will inherit Obama's new "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing" (AFFH) program.

    The program allows federal officials to grant or withhold federal housing dollars to local zoning boards, depending on their willingness to comply with federal race and diversity demands.

    Democrats Vow To Stall Trump’s Appointees For As Long As Possible

    Senate Democrats are gearing up to challenge every appointee President-elect Donald Trump submits, according to a Monday report by Politico.

    They don't have the numbers to actually reject an appointee, but they do have the power to drag on the process as long as possible. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell delayed the confirmation of Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court.

    "They've been rewarded for stealing a Supreme Court justice. We're going to help them confirm their nominees, many of whom are disqualified?" fumed Sen. Sherrod Brown. "It's not obstruction, it's not partisan, it's just a duty to find out what they'd do in these jobs."

    Most confirmations require 51 votes, an easy bar if every Republican holds the party line. Democrats do have the ability to force McConnell to hold procedural votes for the nominees. Ranking Democrats are promising a series of such votes.
