Teacher Wears BlackLivesMatter Pin – Angered Students Take Matter Into Their Own Hands

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 09:00 PM PST

A substitute teacher in Clovis, CA has been banned from teaching at Clovis West High. Why? Because he wore a Black Lives Matter pin to school. The school contends it violates their school policy that does not allow political statements by teachers. He is 75 years-old and claims it wasn't a political statement… that it was a moral one. He only lasted a day teaching before they kicked him out. He's been subbing for 15 years, but he's been in hot water before.

Clovis West Deputy Principal Tony LeFore approached David Roberts and told him the pin was not allowed. Roberts took off the pin. He claims that a number of students thanked him for wearing it and shook his hand, but the school says that students and parents both complained about the pin that symbolizes a radical, racist group. They also claim that he did not follow the lesson plan that day, but he contends he did.

Lawmaker: If Concealed Carriers Get Injured In Obama’s ‘GUN FREE ZONE’ They Can SUE!

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 08:00 PM PST

Representative-elect Rick Schroer of Missouri is introducing legislation that will allow someone who has a gun and then was prevented from being armed by a given establishment to sue if something goes down and they could have prevented it had they been armed. Missouri is not the first state to do this. I think it is a good law. A business should be held accountable if they kept someone from defending others and they got hurt or killed. Missouri allows concealed carry without a permit.

The inspiration for the bill was the July 2012 Aurora, Colorado, movie theater attack. Moviegoers were not allowed to bring arms into the theater, but that didn't stop a nut from coming in with a gun and killing them. It was a gun-free zone and the media didn't address that issue at all. I have long said the best way to stop crime is to allow every American citizen to be armed. This is one more step in that direction and it's a good one. Schroer said, "[The Aurora theater] almost put a target on the back of all the customers there that had to disarm themselves."

NFL Legend Fran Tarkenton: Trump Boycotters Are Stupid. ‘Nobody Boycotted Obama ‘Cause He’s Black’

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 07:00 PM PST

Fran Tarkenton is not only an NFL legend, he's a HUGE fan of Donald Trump. TMZ caught up with him in New York and asked him about athletes who say they won't go to the White House if invited because Donald Trump is now President. He bluntly called them stupid and disrespectful and I agree. Trump is the President now, have some respect and some integrity. We support our President. I don't remember anyone pulling this when Barack Obama was elected. In fact, there was a waiting list to go to White House parties. Iman Shumpert is showing a total lack of class for saying he would not go. And I'm disappointed in Lebron James as well… he's still on the fence about it. It should be a no-brainer.

Anytime a sitting President invites you to the White House, it is an honor. Even for those that are already famous in their own right. And frankly, sports figures have become too much a part of the news and political cycles. This goes to honoring the leader of your country that was selected by a majority of your fellow Americans. For eight long years, we suffered under the Marxist boot of Barack Obama. But we didn't revolt and most showed deference to him as the President. Donald J. Trump deserves the same respect and all this boycotting is just moronic.

Motion to Rename Columbus Day Fails to Pass

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 05:30 PM PST

BALTIMORE (WJZ)– After weeks of controversy, the Baltimore City Council votes to strike down a bill that would rename Columbus Day.

Critics of the holiday say it honors a shameful historical figure and promise to keep fighting it in the future.

Those who supported the bill say they are not giving up. Saying they may have lost the battle but the name-war is just getting started.

Christopher Columbus, the Italian explorer with his own holiday and parade died hundreds of years ago, but the controversy over what he represents lives on.

Video Calls Replace In-Person Visits In Some Jails

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 05:00 PM PST

Since her son Tommy went to jail, Dawn Herbert has been trying to see him as much as she can. He's incarcerated less than a 10-minute drive from her house in Keene, N.H. But he might as well be a lot farther.

"He's in that building and I can't get to him," Herbert says.

Dawn's visits probably don't look like what one might picture, where she's sitting across a table, or behind a pane of Plexiglas looking at and talking to her son.

No. When Herbert visits her son, she has to sit in a windowless booth just past the jail's front door, hold a phone to her ear, and wait for him to show up on a little screen.

ADHD and Schizophrenia: Similarities and Differences

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 04:00 PM PST

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and schizophrenia are two different mental disorders.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a chronic condition made up of behavioral symptoms that include inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness. ADHD affects around 6.4 million children in the United States and often continues into adulthood.

ADHD is more common in boys than girls but is equal among men and women, which suggests girls may be under-diagnosed during childhood. ADHD symptoms usually begin before age 12.

Schizophrenia is a long-term mental health condition that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. Schizophrenia affects around 3.5 million individuals in the U.S.

Schizophrenia is slightly more common in males than females. Symptoms may begin between ages 16 and 30.

Although ADHD and schizophrenia have many differences, there is also an overlap in symptoms and some similarities between the two disorders.

Accused pizzeria gunman brought 3 guns from N.C. in ‘rescue’ attempt

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 03:30 PM PST

WASHINGTON — A 28-year-old North Carolina man armed with an assault rifle who police say traveled to a popular D.C. pizzeria to "self-investigate" a fake news story about a child sex ring being run there by Hillary Clinton campaign operatives was ordered held without bond at his first court appearance Monday.

Edgar Maddison Welch, of Salisbury North Carolina, is accused of carrying an AR-15 assault rifle into the Comet Ping Pong at the corner of Connecticut and Nebraska avenues Sunday afternoon, pointing it at an employee and firing shots inside the restaurant. Employees and customers fled the restaurant and no one was injured, but the incident shut down parts of Connecticut Avenue and led to a heavy police response.

Welch has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and three other weapons-related charges. D.C. Magistrate Judge Joseph Beshouri ordered Welch held without bond during his court appearance Monday. Welch's next court appearance is Thursday.

Father Of Student Arrested For Sexual Assault Says 'Lots Of Girls' Want His Son

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 03:00 PM PST

"I was there, and I know what actually happened," the alleged victim said.

A 15-year-old De La Salle High School student was arrested on Thursday for allegedly assaulting a teenage girl after a playoff football game. No charges have been filed, but USA Today reported that on Dec. 1 the accused student's father insisted that the incident was consensual, because when "young, fast girls see something they like, they go after it."

The junior varsity football player's father, a registered sex offender himself, told local media that his son was innocent and that the victim, a student from neighboring Carondelet, gave her consent.

"He's tall, dark and handsome, he plays for De La Salle, there's a lot of girls that want to be with my son," the 38-year-old father said in an interview with Bay Area News Group. "When young, fast girls see something they like, they go after it."

This commentary, which suggests that an individual who is considered attractive or desirable is somehow exempt from the ability to assault another person, drastically differs from the alleged victim's version of events.

Man gets 30 years in plot to attack U.S. Capitol, kill president

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 02:00 PM PST

CINCINNATI — Christopher Lee Cornell was sentenced to 30 years in prison Monday for hisunfulfilled terror plot to attack the U.S. Capitol and kill President Obama during the 2015 State of the Union address.

Cornell, 22, pleaded guilty in August to charges including attempted murder of government officials and trying to provide support to a terrorist organization.

Moments after the U.S. District Court in Cincinnati sentence, Cornell, of Green Township, said the courts are a "rigged a-- system" and that "Allah's in control, not the judge."

That, despite writing in a March 31, 2016, letter to his family: "I hope they can soon see the change in me, understand me, give me the help I need and allow me to get a second chance. I'm not a terrorist, a criminal or a bad person, I'm just a kid who suffered from problems, that made some bad decisions and stupid mistakes."

Cornell's plot to attack the Capitol was the product of a lonely and depressed 20-year-old with the mind of a teenager who was trying to impress an FBI informant, his attorneys said.

Cornell was easily influenced by the Islamic State propaganda and conspiracy theories he read online, they said.

Joint Statement from Queen Anne’s County Public Schools and Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 01:45 PM PST

"Drug Scans"

Drug detection dog scans were performed today at Queen Anne's County High School and Kent Island High School involving various Queen Anne's County and allied law enforcement agencies. The Queen Anne's County Public School system is dedicated to providing a safe and drug free environment for all students to succeed. Drug-sniffing dogs trained in the detection of narcotics and other illegal substances performed scans of the lockers in the hallways and the locker rooms, along with the parking lots located on school property. During the drug detection dog scans, students remained in their classrooms while instruction continued.

If any controlled dangerous substances are found, the student who is in possession of it will be brought to an administrative office and subjected to further questioning and search. Penalties will include suspension and the possibility of expulsion from school. Please understand that the goal with this initiative is not to 'catch kids,' but rather to send a powerful message that we will not accept the presence of drugs at Queen Anne's County High School.
Our ultimate intent is to maintain the integrity of the educational process and to keep students safe. The disruptions and the dangers caused by drugs being present in our school are unacceptable. Our paramount concern is for the safety of our students. Searches are never on a set schedule and their date is never revealed to students in advance.

TONIGHT: Who Will Be The Next Wicomico County Council President?

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 01:06 PM PST

It has always been a tradition for the Council President to only serve one term at a time, each year. While John Cannon committed to the same agreement, he has been Council President for two straight terms and wants to continue a third term. However, we've been told John Hall may just have the support he needs to become the next Council President and he should. It's time the Council put someone in there that won't stir the pot on just about any and every agenda item. John Hall can deliver a balance the County hasn't seen in years. Tonight's Council Meeting will decide who is your next President and Vice President.

That being said, something needs to be done about Matt Holloway rarely ever attending meetings any more. Not only that but Council Members are appointed to many different positions and committees. The mere fact that each candidate and ultimately Council Member knows they are to represent their district and what is required. Matt Holloway continues to distance himself from attending the majority of his responsibilities and is failing his district miserably. In fact, Matt wants to be Vice President this go around, yet he's rarely ever at a Council Meeting any more.

The Council needs to put in place language that states if you miss 6 meetings in one year, the Council has the right to consider replacing that Council Member. You are either in it for the people or you're not.

Trump Aide Epshteyn: 'Sad' to See Lawmakers Threaten Inauguration Boycott

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 01:00 PM PST

A top member of Donald Trump's presidential inaugural committee says he can't understand why some lawmakers may boycott the president-elect's swearing in on Jan. 20th.

"It saddens me to a degree," Boris Epshteyn, the committee's communications director, said Friday to Steve Malzberg on "America Talks Live."

"We are uniting this country, we are bringing it together. It was a tough political campaign, no question about it, but the American people have spoken and I'm not quite sure what there is to protest.

"It's pretty rich for these Democrats who are crying about any comment Mr. Trump made about making sure this election was proper and had integrity. Now they're saying, what, they're somehow not agreeing to it? What's the protest?"

North Dakota pipeline protesters vow to stay despite victory

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 12:30 PM PST

Protesters celebrated a major victory in their push to reroute the Dakota Access oil pipeline away from a tribal water source but pledged to remain camped on federal land in North Dakota anyway, despite Monday's government deadline to leave.

Hundreds of people at the Oceti Sakowin, or Seven Council Fires, encampment cheered and chanted "mni wichoni" — "water is life" in Lakota Sioux — after the Army Corps of Engineers refused Sunday to grant the company permission to extend the pipeline beneath a Missouri River reservoir.

The Standing Rock Sioux tribe and its supporters argue that extending the project beneath Lake Oahe would threaten the tribe's water source and cultural sites. The segment is the last major sticking point for the four-state, $3.8 billion project.

UPDATED: May Trial Date Now Set For White Marlin Open Prize Money Dispute

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 11:30 AM PST

OCEAN CITY — A federal judge late last week approved a final scheduling order with an expedited start date for the trial in the suit involving the alleged rules violation in the 2016 White Marlin Open (WMO), assuring the proceedings will be concluded before the 2017 event.

Last week, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Bennett had before him a proposed scheduling order that included a start date no earlier than Sept. 18, 2017 for the trial in the federal suit aimed at resolving the alleged rules violation of the winner of the white marlin category in the 2016 WMO and the distribution of the $2.8 million in prize money. The proposed scheduling order included the September 2017 trial date, which would have left the case lingering over the 2017 WMO.

However, last Friday, Bennett issued an "etched in stone" scheduling order with a start date for the trial set for May 22, 2017. Essentially, the judge altered the scheduling order in part to ensure the legal proceedings would be resolved well before the 2017 WMO one way or the other. The trial has now been laid in for four days beginning May 22.

Biden: I'm Going to Run for President in 2020

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 10:00 AM PST

Vice President Joe Biden might not be calling it quits just yet.

The 74-year-old told reporters Monday he was "going to run in 2020 . . . for president," and, when probed further, paused before saying he was not counting it out.

"I am not committed to anything," he told reporters, per The Hill. "I learned a long time ago, fate has a strange way of intervening."

Biden thought about running in 2016 but dropped out in late 2015 after deciding he could not mount a winning campaign following the death of his son, Beau, to cancer.

"As my family and I have worked through the grieving process," he said then. "I've said all along that it may very well be that that process, by the time we get through it, closes the window on mounting a realistic campaign for president. I've concluded it has closed."

The former U.S. senator campaigned for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and ran for president in 1988 and 2008. In January, he told CNN he had regrets about not entering the race, but "it was the right decision for my family and for me."

Amazon Launched Cashier Free Convenience Store

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 09:53 AM PST

No lines, no registers, no self-checkout machines

Amazon just unveiled a grocery store without lines or checkout counters. Amazon Go, a 1800-square-foot retail space located in the company's hometown of Seattle, lets shoppers just grab the items they want and leave; the order gets charged to their Amazon account afterwards.

Amazon Go works by using computer vision and sensors to detect what items you're taking out of the store. You start by scanning an app as you enter the Amazon Go shop. You do your normal shopping, and the sensors throughout the store identify the items in your cart and charge them to your account when you walk out the door. It'll feel like shoplifting, except you're actually being watched by more cameras than you can imagine.

Moment of truth for Muslim DNC chief candidate

Ellison makes anti-Semitic statements, lies about them, pays homage to jihad

WASHINGTON –
The Democratic National Committee is having a big problem finding a new face to fill its critical vacancy as chairman in the wake of its loss of the presidency and its continued minority role in both houses of Congress in 2016.

U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the first black Muslim ever to be elected to Congress, has emerged as the leading candidate, but has been entangled in a controversy over recent and older anti-Semitic public statements caught on recordings.

While the Anti-Defamation League had previously defended his candidacy, the recordings changed the minds of the leadership, which has since labeled them as "deeply disturbing and disqualifying" for the position.

To top it off, Ellison lied in writing to the ADL by telling the group his recorded statements were selectively edited and taken out of context.

GOP Congressman To Introduce National Conceal Carry Bill After Trump Swear In

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 09:37 AM PST

Republican Congressman Richard Hudson from North Carolina is set to introduce national concealed carry legislation for the next congress after Donald Trump is sworn in as president.

The bill, known as the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, will allow a person with a concealed carry permit in one state to carry a handgun in any other state that permits residents to conceal carry, as long as the person is not banned from possessing or transporting a firearm under federal law, The Daily Caller has learned.

You can read the full bill here.

"Our Second Amendment right doesn't disappear when we cross state lines, and I plan to introduce legislation in the first days of the 115th Congress to guarantee that. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 is a common sense bill to provide law-abiding citizens the right to conceal carry and travel freely between states without worrying about conflicting state codes or onerous civil suits," Rep. Hudson told The Daily Caller.

"As a member of President-elect Trump's Second Amendment Coalition, I look forward to working with the administration to advance policies that support and protect our right to keep and bear arms."

Congressman Hudson introduced a similar bill in February 2015 which never made it out of the House.

Pentagon buries evidence of $125 billion in bureaucratic waste

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 09:15 AM PST

The Pentagon has buried an internal study that exposed $125 billion in administrative waste in its business operations amid fears Congress would use the findings as an excuse to slash the defense budget, according to interviews and confidential memos obtained by The Washington Post.

Pentagon leaders had requested the study to help make their enormous back-office bureaucracy more efficient and reinvest any savings in combat power. But after the project documented far more wasteful spending than expected, senior defense officials moved swiftly to kill it by discrediting and suppressing the results.

The report, issued in January 2015, identified "a clear path" for the Defense Department to save $125 billion over five years. The plan would not have required layoffs of civil servants or reductions in military personnel. Instead, it would have streamlined the bureaucracy through attrition and early retirements, curtailed high-priced contractors and made better use of information technology.

The study was produced last year by the Defense Business Board, a federal advisory panel of corporate executives, and consultants from McKinsey and Company. Based on reams of personnel and cost data, their report revealed for the first time that the Pentagon was spending almost a quarter of its $580 billion budget on overhead and core business operations such as accounting, human resources, logistics and property management.

Pearl Harbor Is a Fake News Story

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 09:07 AM PST

Robert B. Stinnett, Day of Deceit: The Truth about FDR and Pearl Harbor (New York, Free Press, 2000)

Stinnett conclusively demonstrates with vast and incontrovertible documentary evidence that in order to precipitate an unwilling American public into supporting intervention in the Second World War, President Roosevelt oversaw the contrivance and deployment of a closely-guarded secret plot to goad the Japanese into attacking Pearl Harbor. The plan was set in motion in October 1940, and its development closely monitored through decoded intercepts of Japanese diplomatic and military radio communications. Knowledge of the plan was limited to 13 Roosevelt administration members and chief military officers, and 21 members of Naval Intelligence and related operations. Once it produced the intended result and the attack impended, the Pacific fleet's modern naval vessels were sent to sea from Pearl Harbor, leaving seven antiquated World War One battleships as decoys. Meanwhile, the Japanese fleet was tracked with radio intercepts from its formation off the Kuril Islands on November 16, and its sailing for Hawaii on November 26; its course was cleared of all shipping with a Vacant Sea order on the 22nd; and Pearl Harbor naval patrols were ordered out of the area on the 25th. The intelligence of the impending attack was withheld from the officers (Admiral Kimmel and General Short) charged with defending Pearl Harbor, who were kept uninformed of the plan and intelligence of the impending attack, and scape-goated afterward. A coverup of the entire operation was maintained through eight official and Congressional investigations between 1941 and 1946, and down to Strom Thurmond's inquiry in 1995. Stinnett's forty-seven pages of Appendices (p. 261-308) present photographic reproductions of essential documents obtained from Federal archives through the Freedom of Information Act, as well as numerous other documents reproduced in the body of the text, and 65 pages (p. 309-374) of closely detailed and referenced notes, all of which copiously and conclusively document Stinnett's factual assertions, arguments and conclusions. His voluminous research files and notes are deposited at the Hoover Institute library at Stanford.

Feminist Journalist: Sex Will 'Get A Lot Less Fun' Under Trump

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 08:45 AM PST

Jill Filipovic wildly claimed that "sex is about to get a lot less fun" in a Thursday op-ed on CNN.com. Filipovic pointed the finger at Donald Trump nominating ObamaCare opponent, Rep. Tom Price, to be HHS secretary, and claimed the move is "just one peek at what Trump's notorious misogyny will look like when it's translated into policy." The Cosmopolitan contributor zeroed in on ObamaCare's "provision that full covers contraception," and claimed that if the controversial law is repealed, many women would no longer be able to "enjoy recreational sex without suffering economically, professionally or medically from an unwanted pregnancy."

The title of Filipovic's editorial, along with its lead sentence, contained the over-the-top "lot less fun" statement about sex. She followed this by noting that "anti-abortion and anti-contraception" Rep. Price is also a "proponent of defunding Planned Parenthood, an organization that serves more than 2.5 million patients, many of them low-income, every year." The feminist writer, who received an award from Planned Parenthood for "media excellence" in 2015, continued with oft-used talking points about the abortion giant: "Birth control and STI testing and treatment make up the majority of services Planned Parenthood provides...Federal funding mostly goes to Planned Parenthood in the form of Medicaid dollars, which are set aside to provide health care for poor Americans, and that's who these funding cuts will largely affect."

Filipovic then outlined why, in her view, American women would have "a harder time getting contraception" with Rep. Price heading the Department of Health and Human Services:

Black Activists Launch Monthly Fee System For Whites To Pay Blacks

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 08:30 AM PST

Liberal black activists have launched a monthly "subscription box" designed for white people "to not only financially support Black femme freedom fighters, but also complete measurable tasks in the fight against white supremacy."

The subscription service is called Safety Pin Box and was launched last week. Wearing a safety pin has recently become a symbol within the liberal community for one to show solidarity with minorities.

The group is headed by Leslie Mac and Marissa Jenae Johnson. Johnson is one of the Black Lives Matter protesters who interrupted Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during a speech in Seattle last year.

BREAKING NEWS: UPDATE ON PRINCESS ANNE INCIDENT THIS MORNING

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 06:18 AM PST

Ladies & Gentlemen, this is not an easy article to write. A very serious assault took place this morning in Princess Anne. A source has informed me that a husband allegedly took a hammer to his Wife and two children. One individual has allegedly also been stabbed.

The suspect was found in his car not far from the scene and has been arrested. All of the victims are in very serious condition. I had been told the details but I will refrain from bringing any of that up as I'm sure you can imagine just how bad it was. I will say that one of the victims was attacked in his crib.

Please pray for all of the victims.

Why Clintons Must Face Justice

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 08:00 AM PST

These people are thieves and monsters, said Haitian aid worker Gary Heavin

The nation of Haiti could easily serve as the most visibly damning evidence of the most despicable type of self-enrichment and grand theft known as "disaster capitalism."

Most people, especially in America, however, would never know it as the corporate controlled media has erected a wall of silence and censorship to protect the perpetrators of one of the greatest thefts of funds and cases of self-enrichment in world history.

The people of Haiti have been thrice victimized. First on January 12, 2010, when a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti about 15 miles west of Port-au-Prince, and secondly, when Hurricane Matthew delivered yet another devastating blow to the already severely wounded nation on October 4, 2016.

This Is An Incredible Deal

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 07:45 AM PST

Last weekend I was walking through the Berlin WalMart. I happened to walk all the way to the back wall, (someplace I've never been) and when I started walking down the back isle I saw the above sale. These are LED Lamps, a 4-pack for $1.17 each.

As you can tell from the above pictures, I bought them ALL, (75 boxes). Every shelf, every lamp. LED lamps are not cheap, yet they give incredible illumination while burning next to no energy.

Once they restock you may want to purchase these lamps as I can assure you, you are not going to see this price again. They normally sell for $11.17 per pack.

MSP Press Release 12-6-16

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 07:30 AM PST

We are providing you with the following suggestions if you feel a vehicle pulling you over is not official.

1) If you have a cellular device, call 911 immediately. Give your location and answer the questions by the Dispatcher. They will be able to check with local and state officials to make sure it's an official police vehicle. They will give you further directions. Do not stop unless directed to by the dispatchers. They will stay on the line with you. It is not against the law to use your cellular device in an emergency while driving.

2) Activate your emergency flashers and slow down. Do not speed up or drive aggressively unless you're in immediate danger. Use Good Judgment.

3) #77 can also be used to contact your nearest State Police Barrack. They can also check with local agencies about the validity of the officer or vehicle.

4) #112 is a European version of 911. It is not a functioning service here in the United States. 911 is your best option!

5) The most important thing is to use Common Sense. Report any
Suspicious vehicles or individuals immediately.

Maryland State Police are searching for three suspects who reportedly impersonated police officers when they stopped a woman traveling through Worcester County yesterday evening and assaulted her before taking money and jewelry.

The victim is a 38-year-old female from Brooklyn, New York. She was treated for exposure to pepper spray and examined at Peninsula Regional Medical Center before being released last night.

The first suspect is described as an African American male with short hair and a full beard. He was wearing a black suit, white shirt and tie.

The second suspect is described as an African American male who is bald, with no facial hair and was wearing black pants and a white shirt. He was carrying a small black handgun.

The third suspect is described as a white male with either a shaved head or short hair. He was wearing a zippered black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The vehicle the suspects were using is described as a black Chevrolet SUV, with unknown Maryland registration plates. The victim reported the vehicle was equipped with red and blue flashing lights.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m. yesterday, Maryland State Police from the Salisbury Barrack responded to a 911 call from the victim, who said she was driving away from the location where she had been pulled over, assaulted and robbed by the three suspects. The victim was told to pull over and troopers would locate her.

Troopers found the victim in the area of Powellville Road and Webb Road, in Powellville. The investigation indicates the victim was stopped and assaulted in the area of Whiton Road at Snow Hill Road in Worcester County. After the incident, she began driving away from the area before calling police.

The victim stated she was driving from New York to Norfolk, Virginia in a rented vehicle. She said when the suspect vehicle activated the red and blue lights, she pulled over, thinking it was a police vehicle. She said the first suspect approached the driver side of the car and sprayed pepper spray into the vehicle before spraying it onto a towel that he held over her face. The victim, who is pregnant, said she got out of the car and was punched in the stomach by the first suspect.

The victim said the second suspect was holding a small black handgun and wearing a gold badge on a chain around his neck. He stole her purse, which contained cash and an ornately jeweled belt of great value. The victim said the third suspect remained at the rear of the suspects' vehicle.

The three suspects left the scene in their vehicle. A search throughout the night for the suspects has had negative results.

Anyone who may have seen these vehicles stopped in the area of Whiton Road and Snow Hill Road yesterday evening, or who may have seen a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description, is urged to contact Maryland State Police at 410-749-3101, or 410-641-3101. Callers may remain anonymous.

Two Troopers Struck By DUI Driver In Charles Co. – 37 Troopers Struck This Year While Stopped

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 07:22 AM PST

(WALDORF, MD) – Two Maryland state troopers at the scene of a traffic crash in Charles County last night were struck by an impaired driver passing the scene, bringing to 37 the number of troopers hit while on traffic stops, crash scenes, or in construction zones this year.

The driver is identified as Ruth A. Runyan, 75, of La Plata, Md. She was charged with driving under the influence, driving while impaired, negligent driving, failure to change lanes for an emergency vehicle, and failure to obey designated lane directions. An ambulance was called to the scene to evaluate her for any injuries, but she refused treatment.

The troopers are identified as Trooper First Class Thomas Davis and Trooper Matthew Milich, both of whom are assigned to the La Plata Barrack. Neither trooper was injured in the crash.

Shortly before 7:00 p.m. yesterday, both troopers were on the scene of a traffic crash on northbound Rt. 301, south of Smallwood Drive. The troopers had their marked patrol cars parked behind each other in the slow lane of Rt. 301, protecting the crash scene ahead of them. Both patrol cars had their emergency lights activated and traffic was being diverted to the lanes on the left of the scene.

Both troopers were seated in the same patrol car when a 2007 Mazda MX-5 northbound on Rt. 301 struck the unoccupied patrol car and then spun into the patrol car ahead of it, where the two troopers were seated. The first patrol car struck sustained disabling damage and the second sustained superficial damage.

The driver of the Mazda was identified as Runyan. Troopers detected signs of possible impairment and conducted an investigation. Their investigation led them to arrest Runyan for driving while impaired.

A tow truck was called to transport the Mazda from the scene. When the tow truck arrived, troopers and deputies detected signs of that driver's possible impairment. Further investigation led to the arrest of the tow truck driver by deputies from the Charles County Sheriff's Office.

In addition to 37 state troopers being struck while on the side of Maryland roads this year, another 20 State Police patrol cars have been hit, fortunately while the trooper was outside the vehicle. There is a clear purpose behind Maryland's move over law. The purpose is to save the lives of our police officers, our emergency services workers, and our tow service operators.

The move over law requires drivers approaching from the rear an emergency vehicle or tow service vehicle using visual signals while stopped on a highway to, if possible, make a lane change into an available lane not immediately adjacent to the emergency or tow vehicle. This movement should only be done if another lane in the same direction is available and the move can be made safely and without impeding other traffic.

If moving to another lane away from the stopped emergency vehicle is not possible, the law requires drivers to slow to a reasonable and prudent speed that is safe for existing weather, road, and vehicular or pedestrian traffic conditions.

Violating the move over law can result in a fine of $110 and one point. If the violation contributes to a traffic crash, the fine is $150 and three points. If the violation contributes to a traffic crash resulting in death or serious injury, the fine is $750 and three points, in addition to the devastating personal tragedies a crash like that will cause.

Fundraiser for a Trump-Pence assassination uncovered on Dark Web

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 07:15 AM PST

The Dark Web is a place that no normal person wants to visit, but that might be the problem here.

There is no way to really monitor the goings on of the dark web, which is why we don't know about things like this until it's too late.

As you are all well aware, the consequences of having Donald Trump and Mike Pence as the leaders of the free world is extremely dangerous," the website reads. "The political, environmental and social consequences will change the United States for the worst.

Pointing to the "rise of several white supremacist movements like the KKK and the neo-nazis," the site promoting assassination says "trying to eliminate other Americans of different origins cannot be tolerated."

"We, as a society have come too far to go back to this," it adds.

The site's authors claim they are part of a "well-known organization that has always defended and protected the rights of all people against crooked governments and regimes using different cyber attacks."

It says it now needs to go further, "as it will require much more than cyber attack to defend ourselves to avoid civil war or another world war."

We have several assets in different branches of government, security and even some working in secret services," it claims. "Unfortunately, the plan we need to implement requires a lot of money to pay for equipment, bribes and also to pay those assets."

The site asks for anonymous donations from those who "wish to see our plan succeed" and asks those with "expertise, intelligence or contacts you consider relevant," to get in touch.

Is TV Sports Getting So Expensive That Customers Are Finally Cutting The Cord?

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 06:53 AM PST

At this point, it's a hoary old saw that sports networks and broadcasts of live sporting events are one of the main reasons your pay-TV bills continue to rise. We all kind of "know" that sports are expensive, and that the costs come through to everyone else… but as millions of dollars in charges and fees become billions, are consumers and viewers going to stick around?

That's what the Los Angeles Times is asking today, after a look at the best-available numbers.

Since 2005 — so, in just over a decade — the amount of available sports programming across broadcast and cable networks has gone up 160%, to more than 127,000 hours per year, the L.A. Times reports. And people are watching what's on offer: we collectively spent 31 billion hours watching sports on TV last year, a 40% increase over the last decade.

Conservatives Demand Action Against Foreign-Funded Efforts to Cast Doubt on Election Outcome

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 05:33 PM PST

A bevy of top conservatives is demanding action against foreign influencers who allegedly aim to hurt Republican President-elect Donald J. Trump in the wake of his landslide electoral victory in the 2016 presidential election.

A group of 39 conservative leaders wrote an open letter made public on Monday night.

he top conservatives describe a "pernicious effort" by the institutional left to cast doubt on the results of the election, when it's clear Trump won in a landslide over Clinton. In fact, his 306 electoral votes—and complete sweep of the Rust Belt from Pennsylvania to Ohio to Michigan to Wisconsin—is something no Republican has done since the 1980s. They also say data supports Trump's recent points that many illegal votes were likely cast in this election, which he argues means that he would also have won the popular national vote.

They specifically point to credible analyses from previous elections that suggest illegal voting is a major factor in U.S. elections.

"Political scientists examining the 2008 presidential election estimated that 1.2 million non-citizens cast mainly Democratic votes," they wrote. After eight years of rampant illegal immigration, it is only reasonable to expect that number to have increased."

Secondly, they rightly point out that the popular vote technically has no constitutional bearing on who becomes president.

"Several U.S. presidents have come to office in Electoral College victories without winning the popular vote," they write. "In the cases of Presidents Woodrow Wilson (1912) and Bill Clinton (1992), their presidential opponents together won popular vote victories over these Electoral College winners."

AUDIO: Homeowner Opens Fire, Killing Home Invasion Suspect During 911 Call

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 06:37 AM PST

On Monday, a Sunrise, Florida, homeowner used a shotgun to open fire on three home invasion suspects, killing one and causing the remaining two to flee the scene.

According to ABC News, homeowner Warren Darlow called 911 to report that three males had pulled into his driveway and were walking toward his home. He did not know them and worried that their intention was to rob the residence.

Darlow talked to the police dispatcher, saying, "I got three black males at my house. Two jumped out. They're getting ready to jump the fence." He continued talking to the dispatcher until the three suspects allegedly shattered a glass door on the back the home, at which point, Darlow whispered, "Help. They're in my house right now."

The next sound on the dispatch audio is of Darlow firing three blasts from a shotgun:

Trump Taps Ben Carson As HUD Nominee

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 06:30 AM PST

President-elect Donald Trump has chosen former Johns Hopkins surgeon and campaign 2016 rival Ben Carson to become secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Trump's decision, announced early Monday by his transition office, comes as the real estate mogul continues a series of interviews, meetings with aides and other deliberations aimed at forming his administration.

In a statement, Trump says he's "thrilled to nominate" Carson, saying he "has a brilliant mind and is passionate about strengthening communities and families within those communities."

Carson has been coy about joining the new administration, saying shortly after Trump's election victory that he wasn't certain he'd fit into a Cabinet-style role. The discussion at that time centered on speculation that Carson might be selected to head the sprawling Department of Health and Human Services.

Homeowner Takes Gun from Home Invasion Suspect, Kills Him with It

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 06:15 AM PST

A homeowner wrestled a gun away from two home invasion suspects then opened fire with it, killing one suspect and causing the second to flee.

The incident occurred in Culpepper County, Virginia.

According to NBC 4, authorities with the Culpepper County Sheriff's Department say "21-year-old Delonte Jones, of Prince George's County, and 18-year-old Amber Eley, of Orange, Virginia, knocked on the door of a home in the 1400 block of Woodland Church Road." When the homeowner answered the door, Jones and Eley feigned car trouble and asked for help. The homeowner sensed something was not right and refused. That is when Jones and Eley allegedly forced their way into the home.

Once inside a struggle ensued and the homeowner allegedly took a gun away from Jones and shot the suspect with it, killing him. Law enforcement officers who arrived on scene were not able to locate any other suspects.

Neighbors told NBC 4 they heard "multiple shots."

WACC Is Back: Getting Ready To Live In An Era Of Rising Rates

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 06:07 AM PST

When I was fresh out of college in the mid-90s, I landed a job at Merrill Lynch. I was an "investment banking analyst", which meant I had no life outside of the office and hardly ever slept. I pretty much spoke, thought, and dreamed in Excel during those years.

Much of my time there was spent building valuation models. These complicated spreadsheets were used to provide an air of quantitative validation to the answers the senior bankers otherwise pulled out of their derrieres to questions like: Is the market under- or over-valuing this company? Can we defend the acquisition price we're recommending for this M&A deal? What should we price this IPO at?

Back then, Wall Street still (mostly) believed that fundamentals mattered. And one of the most widely-accepted methods for fundamentally valuing a company is the Discounted Cash Flow (or "DCF") method. I built a *lot* of DCF models back in those days.

I promise not to get too wonky here, but in a nutshell, the DCF approach projects out the future cash flows a company is expected to generate given its growth prospects, profit margins, capital expenditures, etc. And because a dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow, it discounts the further-out projected cash flows more than the nearer-in ones. Add everything up, and the total you get is your answer to what the fair market value of the company is.
The Weighted Average Cost Of Capital

The DCF approach sounds pretty straightforward. And it is. But it's still much more of an art than a science. Your future cash flow stream is entirely dependent on the assumptions you bake into the model. The difference between a 5% or 15% assumed EBITDA compound annual growth rate becomes huge when projecing over 10+ years.

But one assumption in the model has far more impact on the final valuation number than any other. And it has nothing to do with the company's projected operations.

Recall that the DCF approach projects out the expected future cash flows, and then discounts them (back to what's called a "present value"). This raises a critically important question:

At what rate do you discount these future cash flows?

A Viewer Writes: Something is going on in Somerset County

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 05:22 AM PST

They just called for 2 ambulances from Wicomico County (Fruitland and Allen) I heard someone say they had 3 kids down and to notify PRMC. Everyone sounds frantic but I ccouldn't tell what was going on. Keep an ear out.

They just asked Fruitland and Allen to EXPEDITE. The paramedic on scene is adamant about telling them to expedite so something is going on.
The first paramedic was setting up triage. Priority 1 patients. (most critical) Now it sounds like they are going to be transporting 2 patients.

Wicomico Central just asked if Allen and Fruitland were aware of what was going on. They said they were not aware of what is going on Central told the paramedics to contact Central by phone. They are NOT releasing anything over the air.

I just hope it is not another incident like the one in Princess Anne with the kids and the kerosene heater.

Cop-Killer Dead After Grueling Standoff. Those Ready to Blame Police Should Hear This Witness First.

Posted: 06 Dec 2016 03:00 AM PST

On Wednesday night, a domestic violence call in Tacoma, Washington, ended in tragedy.

As KIRO7 reports, the situation — which began at approximately 5:30 Wednesday afternoon — quickly turned dire after the male suspect, Bruce "Zeus" Johnson, opened fire on Tacoma Police Officer Reginald Jake Gutierrez soon after he'd stepped inside.

In the 11-hour standoff that followed, other officers braved Johnson's gunfire to pull the injured Gutierrez out of the home to safety, but the 45-year-old would sadly succumbed to his wounds just hours later.

Over those 11 hours, Johnson reportedly used two children — ages 8 and 11 — as human shields to protect himself, though they both ultimately emerged unharmed.

After negotiations failed, the standoff only came to an end when a police sniper shot Johnson in the head.
