Americans Want Total Revolution Against Mass Immigration

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 10:00 PM PDT

New polling data shows that it would be virtually impossible for Hillary Clinton to win the general election if the Republican nominee were able to frame the immigration issue in populist terms that emphasize reducing the overall amount of immigration into the country and protecting jobs, incomes, and benefits for the domestic population.

The poll was conducted by Gravis Marketing, a nonpartisan research firm, in conjunction with Breitbart News Network, and surveyed a random selection of 2,010 registered voters throughout the nation.

"The poll shows that instead of dividing Americans, immigration is an issue where Americans have reached the consensus that it is a problem, maybe the problem," said Doug Kaplan, the managing partner of Gravis Marketing.

The polling data suggests that the Republican Party could see overwhelming electoral success if it were able to portray Clinton's immigration policy as a corporatist attempt to flood the labor supply with foreign workers in order to drive down wages and incomes for American workers.

Hillary Clinton Said Nothing About the Economy in Her Speech

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 09:00 PM PDT

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania — When Bill Clinton ran for President in 1992, his unofficial campaign motto was: "It's the economy, stupid." But his wife, Hillary, failed to describe any economic policies in her Democratic National Convention speech.

In her address to the Wells Fargo Arena on Thursday night, formally accepting the Democratic Party's nomination for president, Clinton said the word "economy" ten times, but did not mention any economic plans.

And when she did mention the economy, most often — three times out of ten — she did so in the context of legalizing millions of illegal aliens.

'Black Lives Matter' movement arrives in Israel

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 08:30 PM PDT

A delegation from the radical "Black Lives Matter" movement arrived in Israel last week to promote what the group called "the fight for dignity, justice and freedom".

During the trip to Israel, the BLM delegation participated in a raucous anti-Israel protest in the Samarian village of Bilin, near Modi'in Illit. Two Arab protesters were taken into custody during the event, the Bethlehem-based Ma'an reported.

The BLM delegation in Israel highlighted the movement's international goals, expressing its opposition to what it described as the "genocide" of Palestinian Arabs at the hands of "Zionist vigilantes", as well as capitalism, and the "occupation" of Palestine.

Donald Trump's Path to Victory

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 08:00 PM PDT

Donald Trump's RNC speech wasn't "dark." It wasn't about "spreading fear." It was simply the truth. And Hillary's vision of America is pure fraud, fiction and fantasy.

This morning revealed the proof…and the wreckage.

Two more policeman shot, one killed (in San Diego). Donald's version of America is correct — there is a war on police under Obama.

Trump's Response To Parents Of Killed Muslim Soldier: "Hillary Voted For The Iraq War, Not Me!"

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 07:30 PM PDT

With the media in full frenzy during the past three days over the public feud between the Pakistan-born Khizr Khan, who last week told the story of his son, a Muslim US army captain who received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart after being killed in Iraq in 2004, and Donald Trump, earlier this morning the Republican presidential candidate refused to back down, defending his criticism of the parents by complaining on Twitter that the father "viciously attacked" him in his speech at the Democratic National Convention.
I was viciously attacked by Mr. Khan at the Democratic Convention. Am I not allowed to respond? Hillary voted for the Iraq war, not me!

He added that Khan, who was killed 12 years ago, "was a hero" but that "this is about RADICAL ISLAMIC TERROR and the weakness of our "leaders" to eradicate it.

Captain Khan, killed 12 years ago, was a hero, but this is about RADICAL ISLAMIC TERROR and the weakness of our "leaders" to eradicate it!
There has been much back and forth between the two parties, with Khan most recently questioning whether Trump had ever read the Constitution and saying "you have sacrificed nothing." As AP notes, this was the latest bitter rhetorical volley between the defiant Republican candidate and the family of the fallen soldier. A quick recap of the key highlights for those who have not watched TV in the last three days.

America's Aging Baby Boomers, Forced To Work Until Death, Blamed For Collapsing US Productivity

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 07:00 PM PDT

The graying of America's workforce will come as no surprise to regular readers. Just earlier this month, we wrote that in a little noticed aspect of the "stellar" June jobs report, the vast majority - or 90% of all new jobs - went to workers 55 and older.
Hardly an outlier, this was the latest confirmation of a very troubling trend: all jobs created since the recession started in December 2007 have gone to workers 55 and older.

Americans ‘facing $1 trillion tax hike’ with Clinton

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 06:00 PM PDT

'But there are even more proposals not included in the tally'

There's been talk about what a Hillary Clinton presidency would cost the United States: more loss of religious rights as she pursues Barack Obama's "gay" agenda, a loss of gun rights, a diminution of military might, the incalculable toll of appointing Supreme Court justices who want the law to reflect their own ideologies rather than the Constitution.

But here's something that's certainly a little more defined.

$1 trillion.

Or probably more, in massive tax hikes she's proposing.

It amounts to a bump of $3,100 per taxpayer.

At least.

The report comes from Americans for Tax Reform.

It says Clinton is suggesting a $350 billion hike in income taxes by limiting the itemized deductions for families, a $275 billion hike through "undefined business tax reform and a $400 billion "fairness" tax hike.

Hillary for prosecution, not president! Join the sizzling campaign to put Mrs. Clinton where she really belongs

Described by Democrats as "restoring basic fairness to our tax code," it would include a "fair share surcharge," the report said.

"Hillary Clinton has made clear she intends to dramatically raise taxes on the American people if elected. She has proposed an income tax increase, a business tax increase, a death tax increase, a capital gains tax increase, a tax on stock trading, an 'Exit Tax' and more. … Her planned net tax increase on the American people is at least $1 trillion over 10 years, based on her campaign's own figures."

On July 31, 2016 at 9:35 am the Worcester County 911 center received a call about a motor vehicle crash on Blueberry Road near Morris Road in Whaleyville, MD. The caller reported a vehicle on its side in an irrigation ditch. Showell Fire & EMS along with Deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office responded and located a 1995 Chevrolet Van with the operator trapped beneath the vehicle. The operator was determined to be deceased and was later identified as Todd Russell Mariner, 49 years old from Salisbury Md.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle left the roadway and stopped along the edge of an irrigation ditch. As the operator attempted to exit the vehicle, the shift of weight caused the vehicle to roll on top of him. Alcohol is believed to have played a factor in the crash. If you have any information about the crash contact Cpl. Larmore of the Worcester County Sheriff's Office Reconstruction Unit at 410-632-1111

Robocall ruling reversal sought by advocacy groups

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 05:30 PM PDT

A coalition of consumer and privacy groups petitioned to reverse a ruling that the federal government and its contractors have immunity from fines related to robocalls.

The National Consumer Law Center, the Electronic Privacy Information Center, the Consumer Federation of America and U.S. PIRG are among dozens of advocacy groups seeking to reverse the July 5 ruling by the Federal Communications Commission.

Broadnet Teleservices, the National Employment Network Association and RTI International prompted the ruling by seeking clarification about whether the federal law governing robocalls applies to federal contractors.

"If the commission does not reconsider and change its ruling in this proceeding, tens of millions of Americans will find their cell phones flooded with unwanted robocalls from federal means of stopping these calls and no remedies to enforce their requests to stop these calls," the National Consumer Law Center argued in the petition.

Reuters/Ipsos Radically Changes Methodology to Favor Clinton

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 05:00 PM PDT

The Reuters/Ipsos polling team announced Friday that they are dropping the "Neither" option from their presidential preference polls after their tracking polls showed a 17-point swing in favor of the Republican nominee Donald J. Trump, exposing the "Secret Trump Voters" Democrats fear.

"In a presidential campaign notable for its negativity, the option of 'Neither' candidate appears to be an appealing alternative, at least to participants in the Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll," wrote Maurice Tamman, the leader of the Reuters news service's New York City-based data mining and investigative reporting team. "Many voters on both sides have been ambivalent in their support for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump, complicating the task of the pollsters trying to track the race."

Breitbart News noted the 17-point swing for Trump, which seems to have set off alarm bells at Reuters.

Mamman wrote that in the "Year of Neither," the swing came from an underreporting of Trump support before the Republican National Convention held in Cleveland July 18 to July 21.

Reuters has a reputation for accurate polling, so it is significant that Mamman made this decision as the presidential campaign enters its last 100 days with both conventions adjourned.

"In the nearly five years Reuters/Ipsos has been offering the 'Neither/Other' option to respondents in presidential polling, it has never yielded such a skew," he wrote. "The results highlight how poll designs and methodologies can yield significantly differing results, and how important differences can emerge from the way a question is framed."

Skydiver becomes first person to jump and land without chute

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 04:30 PM PDT

After leaping from an airplane, Luke Aikins rocketed toward earth for two minutes, and then calmly flipped onto his back at the last second and landed in a 100-by-100-foot net inCalifornia.

Cheers rose from those who gathered at the Big Sky movie ranch on the outskirts of Simi Valley to watch the stunt, including his family.

The 42-year-old skydiver with more than 18,000 jumps made history as the first person to survive a leap without a parachute and land safely in a net.

As the audience erupted, Aikins quickly climbed out, walked over and hugged his wife, Monica, who had been watching from the ground with their 4-year-old son, Logan, and other family members.

"I'm almost levitating. It's incredible," the jubilant skydiver said, raising his hands over his head as his wife held their son, who dozed in her arms.

"This thing just happened! I can't even get the words out of my mouth," he added as he thanked the dozens of crew members who spent two years helping him prepare for the jump, including those who assembled the fishing trawler-like net and made sure it really worked.

You thought Jeb Was Low Energy?

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 04:00 PM PDT

For months Donald Trump has bestowed the "Crooked Hillary" moniker upon the Democratic Presidential candidate with what appear to be very damaging results to her credibility and honesty.

Always one to entertain, and often without a script, Trump has a couple of new nicknames he recently threw into the mix.

First, knowing how effective the label was when applied to Jeb! Bush, Trump referred to Hillary as not just "low energy," but noted that she is a "napper" who simply doesn't have the ability to deal with the nation's pressing issues:

"She's low energy. She actually is low energy," Mr. Trump said at a Monday afternoon campaign stop in Roanoke, Va. "She'll go home, she'll take a nap for four or five hours and then she'll come back. No naps for Trump! I don't nap. We don't have time. We don't have time."

It's not the first time Mr. Trump, 70 years old, has accused Mrs. Clinton, 68 years old, of not maintaining what he believes to be sufficient stamina. In December he told Fox News that Mrs. Clinton "goes to sleep" on the campaign trail.

How much did the Clinton Foundation really get?

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 03:30 PM PDT

IRS investigators should dig into the millions of dollars of unresolved reporting disparities on exactly how much money Australian government agencies shoveled into the Clinton Foundation, Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee tells The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Clinton Foundation listings include contributions from the Commonwealth of Australia and the Australian Agency for International Development in a range between totals of $20 million and $50 million. The foundation does not provide the date of the contributions.

Even with the highest number — $50 million — in the range, however, there is a disparity of as much as $39 million with reports from the Australian government. Using the foundation's lowest number of $20 million, the disparity could be as much as $68 million.

Clinton Foundation Under Serious Criminal Investigation By IRS

The Clinton Foundation Is Crumbling

The IRS confirmed in a letter it is looking into claims of "pay-to-play" practices at the Clinton Foundation, after dozens of Republican lawmakers requested a review of potential "criminal conduct" at the organization founded by the family at the center of this week's Democratic National Convention.

Commissioner John Koskinen wrote in a July 22 letter to Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn that the issue has been "forwarded" to the IRS "Exempt Organizations Examinations" program in Dallas. – FOX
The Clinton Foundation Is Caught In The IRS' Cross Hairs

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen referred congressional charges of corrupt Clinton Foundation "pay-to-play" activities to his tax agency's exempt operations office for investigation, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.

The request to investigate the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation on charges of "public corruption" was made in a July 15 letter by 64 House Republicans to the IRS, FBI and Federal Trade Commission (FTC). They charged the foundation is "lawless."

The initiative is being led by Rep. Marsha Blackburn, a Tennessee Republican who serves as the vice chairwoman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, which oversees FTC. The FTC regulates public charities alongside the IRS.

The lawmakers charged the Clinton Foundation is a "lawless 'pay-to-play' enterprise that has been operating under a cloak of philanthropy for years and should be investigated."

Koskinen's July 22 reply came only a week after the House Republicans contacted the tax agency. It arrived to their offices Monday, the first opening day of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

"We have forwarded the information you have submitted to our Exempt Organizations Program in Dallas,"Koskinen told the Republicans.

Lets beg for money in front of a no solicitation sign......

In my opinion, if your child does sports in high school and they need money to travel, you as a parent should be footing the bill.

I do not know why parents feel it appropriate to teach children that it is everyone's responsibility to support their hobby.

But from this photo these are not our brightest.

Who in heavens name thought begging in front of the home depot intersection was a smart move?

These simpletons even had their children begging in the median on route 13 in front of Walmart!

Didn't they remove the druggie from begging there because it was illegal but these people can do it?

Your hobby is your financial responsibility.

The only thing you accomplished was creating a hazardous situation, to beg for money.

Sad.

Satanists Plan To Infiltrate Elementary Schools Across The Country With New Satan Club

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 01:30 PM PDT

The Satantic Temple of Utah plans to unveil a new after school program Monday designed for the nation's elementary-age children, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

The group plans to petition schools so its curriculum can be part of official clubs as early as this fall. The Satanists are targeting Utah, New York, Massachusetts, Arizona, Minnesota, Louisiana and Florida to include the curriculum.

"It's critical that children understand that there are multiple perspectives on all issues, and that they have a choice in how they think," the Temple's co-founder Doug Mesner told the Tribune.

Mesner told reporters the group doesn't actually promote devil worship, instead it eschews any sort of belief in a supernatural being, supporting "scientific rationality" instead. The planned curriculum includes "healthful snacks," "creative learning activities," "a science lesson" and "an art project."

Trump: Clinton and DNC 'Trying to Rig the Debates'

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 01:00 PM PDT

Republican nominee Donald Trump is alleging that the Democratic Party is attempting to schedule general election debates that conflict with "major NFL games."

As usual, Hillary & the Dems are trying to rig the debates so 2 are up against major NFL games. Same as last time w/ Bernie. Unacceptable!
During the primaries, Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Convention under former chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz's watch were criticized for trying to schedule debates during other primetime television events to help shelter Clinton.
"Top Democrats think it's no accident the Democratic National Committee scheduled the debate on the night of the big game in Iowa, at a time when fewer voters nationwide will see it. They see collusion between DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Hillary Clinton's campaign to insulate the Democratic front-runner from the potential challenges and embarrassments of a vibrant debate in front of a healthy audience," reported theNational Review ahead of the Iowa caucuses.

Two months later, The Boston Globe also noted the Democratic primary debate schedule continuing to conflict with busy television nights, including NFL playoffs.

Hedge-Fund Handouts: Hillary Clinton $48,500,000 - $19,000 Donald Trump

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 12:00 PM PDT

The lines around what constitutes a hedge fund aren't always clear in the data, or in the financial industry. But the numbers are stark. The top five contributors to pro-Clinton groups are employees or owners of private investment funds, according to federal data released last week and compiled by OpenSecrets.org, the center's website. The data show seven financial firms alone have generated nearly $48.5 million for groups working on Mrs. Clinton's behalf.

The total for Donald Trump: About $19,000.
Hedge funds are playing a far bigger role in 2016 than in past elections - and, as The Wall Street Journal reports, Hillary Clinton has been the single biggest beneficiary.

Five Mistakes Cost Marilyn Mosby The Freddie Gray Case

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 11:00 AM PDT

More than a year after the death of Freddie Gray and the ensuing riots, all six charged Baltimore police officers walked free and the attorney who prosecuted them faces a mountain of lawsuits, possible disbarment and calls for her resignation.

While the lawsuits face a tough battle and the disbarment is unlikely, Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby did make a series of mistakes in the trial that cost her. Here are five of Mosby's biggest missteps.

1. Overzealous Charges

When Mosby announced charges against the officers, the legal community largely felt she overstepped. While the death certainly warranted prosecution, she hit all six officers involved with a slew of charges including involuntary manslaughter, assault and depraved-heart murder. These charges came just one day after the police department gave her its investigation. The Baltimore police union quickly accused her of rushing to judgement.

Police: Clinton Supporter Lights Flag On Fire, Attacks Trump Supporter

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 10:15 AM PDT

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Police say that a Clinton supporter lit a flag on fire near a group of Trump supporters and attacked a man near the Clinton-Kaine event downtown Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened at the intersection of 10th Street and Penn Avenue around 4 p.m.

According to a criminal complaint, police were told Joshua Sturman was in the area to support Hillary Clinton, who spoke at a rally at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center later that afternoon. A group of Trump supporters had gathered on the opposing sidewalk in what police say was a peaceful assembly.

Sturman crossed the street and walked into the middle of the group of Trump supporters. The criminal complaint says the members of the group were standing close to one another, shoulder-to-shoulder. The complaint says Sturman then pulled out a flag and began to light it on fire.

Hillary Clinton: Part socialist, part crony capitalist

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 10:00 AM PDT

Authors say free market elements play a role now

Is Hillary Clinton a socialist? Lou Dobbs seems to think so. During the Fox Business Network's Thursday night coverage of the Democratic National Convention, the popular host remarked Clinton's acceptance speech gave off socialist vibes.

"From that little girl to now, somehow along the way she became as close to a socialist as I could ever possibly imagined," Dobbs said. "I gotta believe there are CEOs and shareholders by the millions across the country who are wondering, 'Oh my gosh, they're going after my company!'"

But William Murray, chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition, sees the Democratic nominee as more of a hybrid.

"What I hear in Hillary is a central planner, which is socialist in nature but also appeals to crony capitalists," Murray told WND.

Murray, who chronicled the history of central planning in his book "Utopian Road to Hell: Enslaving America and the World with Central Planning," asserted big corporations have nothing to fear from a Hillary presidency, but small businesses will get crushed by her.

"She is a socialist, yes, but she's also a crony capitalist," he said. "She will help Wall Street, she will help the big defense contractors, and she will do this all at the expense of real competition and the little man. If we take a look at China, we take a look at the big socialist countries in Europe like France, they utilize the big corporations in order to achieve their socialist agenda."

Schweizer: Clinton Foundation Has Large Donors With 'Histories of Corruption,' No Reason To Donate Other Than Buying Influence

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 09:53 AM PDT

Saturday, on the Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends," Breitbart editor at large Peter Schweizer, executive producer of the documentary based on his bestselling book "Clinton Cash," stated that the Clinton Foundation's large overseas donors "have histories of corruption, or being involved in bribery scandals."

Schweizer said that there's no reason for an authoritarian government to give to the Clinton Foundation other than buying influence, and that the large overseas donors to the foundation "have histories of corruption, or being involved in bribery scandals." He added, "Just because it's a charity doesn't mean that it's not important or not interesting. It constitutes bribery every bit as much as if somebody's putting money in somebody's pocket for a benefit."

Schweizer also said the Clintons haven't disclosed 1,100 foreign contributions to the Clinton Foundation.

NY Post: Why Didn't the Democrats Even Mention the Clinton Foundation?

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 09:45 AM PDT

In all the Democratic convention speeches seeking to "humanize" Hillary Clinton, something went curiously missing: her work with the family charity.

You'd think Hillary, Bill and Chelsea would want to use the national stage to tout how their family's $2 billion foundation is "helping improve the lives of millions of people across the world," as it boasts.

You'd think we would've heard from some of the beneficiaries of the "partnerships between businesses, NGOs, governments and individuals" finding "solutions that last."

But not a word that we can recall. No speeches, no videos, no personal testimonials — nothing.

The silence is hardly mystifying — for the Clinton Foundation carries heavy baggage.

Starting with the FBI's investigation into whether any "intersection" between the foundation and the work of Secretary of State Clinton violated anti-corruption laws.

Like her role in handing Russia exclusive mining rights to 20 percent of US uranium reserves via a company that donated millions to the foundation. (You thought Donald Trump was Vladimir Putin's best friend?)

Paris Cardinal: Islamists Worship a ‘God of Death’

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 09:37 AM PDT

Mincing no words, French Cardinal André Vingt-Trois told the Christian faithful this week that jihadists "wrap themselves in the trappings of religion" while announcing a "God of death," whom the prelate compared to the ancient pagan god "Moloch"—who demanded live human sacrifices as a tribute.

The Cardinal, who serves as archbishop of Paris, pronounced these words during the homilyat a memorial Mass Wednesday celebrated for the martyred priest Father Jacques Hamel, whose throat two Islamic radicals slit during morning Mass this past Tuesday.

The comparison between the "Allah" of the Islamists and the heinous "Moloch" of ancient pagan peoples is especially severe, given that Christians have generally understood Muslims to be an Abrahamic religion, and a "people of the book." Moloch, on the contrary, was a vicious god who demanded infant sacrifices, often identified with the Carthaginian god Baal.

US Government Entitlements - The Sixth Biggest Economy On Earth

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 09:23 AM PDT

Because the main street economy is failing, the nation's entitlement rolls have exploded. About 110 million citizens now receive some form of means tested benefits. When social security is included, more than 160 million citizens get checks from Washington.

The total cost is now $3 trillion per year and rising rapidly. America's entitlements sector, in fact, is the sixth biggest economy in the world.

Yet in a society that is rapidly aging to the tune of 10,000 baby boom retirees per day, this 50% dependency ratio is not even remotely sustainable. As we show in a later chapter, social security itself will be bankrupt within 10 years.

Still, there is another even more important aspect of the mainstream narrative's absolute radio silence about the monumental entitlements problem. Like in the case of the nation's 30-year LBO, the transfer payments crisis is obfuscated by the economic blind spots of our Keynesian central banking regime.

Greenspan, Bernanke, Yellen and their posse of paint-by-the-numbers economic plumbers have deified the great aggregates of consumer, business and government spending as the motor force of economic life. As more fully deconstructed below, however, this boils down to a primitive notion of bathtub economics.

In this bogus economic model, it is assumed that the supply-side of the economy is always fully endowed or even over-provided. By contrast, the perennial problem is purportedly a shortfall of an ether called "aggregate demand".

So the job of the central bank is to pump reserves and credit into the macroeconomy until the resulting incremental spending by households, business and government has caused "full employment GDP" to be filled to the brim. In effect, spending derived from current production and income is supplemented with proceeds extracted from increasingly indebted balance sheets.

Needless to say, this amounts to borrowing from future production and income, but it does boost the current period GDP so long as there is still runway available on household and business balance sheets. Yet what we call the Keynesian parlor trick—-goosing current economic output by leveraging-up balance sheets—–self-evidently doesn't work in an economy that is at Peak Debt, as we document in the next section.

Angel Moms: Speaker Ryan Left Them ‘In the Dust’

House Speaker Paul Ryan's challenger for his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives Paul Nehlen said Thursday on Fox Business Network's "Lou Dobbs Tonight" that the "Angel Moms" tried to present Ryan with a letter outside of his mansion only to for him to be whisked away, leaving them in the dust.

"'Speaker Ryan, if you cared as much about our families as you care about your donors, our kids might still be alive..."

Before the interview, Nehlen's ad featuring American mothers who have lost their children as a result of illegal alien crime aired.

Koch brothers network rules out anti-Clinton ads

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 09:07 AM PDT

The powerful political network helmed by Charles and David Koch is ruling out running advertisements intended to hurt Hillary Clinton, another sign of their insistence on avoiding the presidential race.

The Koch network has previously said they will not back Republican candidate Donald Trump, but on Saturday officials told reporters that they would not run negative Clinton spots, a position taken by some Republican groups that are uneasy with the controversial GOP standard-bearer.

The group is laser-focused on maintaining and expanding the Senate majority -- in the midst of a $42 million television advertising campaign focused on a half-dozen states -- and would only use Clinton to bash Senate Democratic hopefuls.

"Our perspective is the same: We're focused on the Senate," Mark Holden, a top Koch network official, told reporters. "We have no intention to go after Donald Trump."

The Kochs are effectively indifferent between Trump and Clinton.

Hillary Lead Over Trump Surges After Reuters "Tweaks" Poll

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 09:00 AM PDT

Over the past week, there was a troubling development for the establishment: Trump was soaring in the polls. In fact, in the widely watched, Reuters/IPSOS poll, for the first time Trump had taken an inexcusable 1 point lead following the Republican National convention.

So, as we reported last night, something had to be done. And something was done: Reuters "tweaked" its polling methodology.

As Reuters explained, "in a presidential campaign notable for its negativity, the option of "Neither" candidate appears to be an appealing alternative, at least to participants in the Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll. Many voters on both sides have been ambivalent in their support for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump, complicating the task of the pollsters trying to track the race. That sentiment may help explain an apparent skew that recently emerged in the Reuters/Ipsos poll results. Given the choice, a relatively large group of voters opted for "Neither/Other" candidate compared with other major polls, leading to an underreporting of several percentage points for one or other of the two major contenders at times in the race."

Can Wicomico County Truly Keep Up With Emergency Services?

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 08:45 AM PDT

OK, so over the past week we've seen a few issues/problems with the Volunteer Fire Services in Wicomico County. Well, there's more.

Today, the sirens went off to get a Volunteer to come in and drive one of the east side ambulances. The County does have two paid Paramedics but here's the problem. When a call comes in, someone has to be there to DRIVE the ambulance.

Because no Volunteer was able to come in quick enough, (this morning) one of the Paramedics had to drive to the other Station so to meet the second Paramedic so they could respond to the call/emergency. Ultimately it's best to have two Volunteers so they can help load the patient on each call. This also means there was NO Paramedic available to take any other calls on the east side if another call came in.

What's interesting is, one friend explained to me this morning how they had to call in an Ambulance to take them to the Hospital. Other then taking their vital signs, nothing else was performed at the scene and or on the way to the Hospital. However, when all was said and done they received a bill for $690.00, that's a fact.

Aside from the fact that each property owner pays taxes to cover these type of services, tacking on an additional $690.00 seems to be a bit outrageous, wouldn't you agree?

Nevertheless, Wicomico County has a problem. While we could sit here and follow the scanner day in and day out, we've got much better things to do. However, in the short time that we have been listening we're clearly seeing the County simply cannot handle these emergencies.

All that being said, what do YOU think needs to be done to resolve these issues?

Clinton fact-checked on 'truthful' claim in email scandal

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 08:36 AM PDT

Hillary Clinton is getting hammered for saying on "Fox News Sunday" that FBI Director James Comey confirmed her statements on her email scandal were "truthful" – with one prominent fact-checker giving the claim four "Pinocchios."

The former secretary of state cited Comey when asked to account for her repeated claims that she never sent or received material marked classified on her personal email account. When host Chris Wallace noted that Comey said those things were not true, Clinton disagreed.

"That's not what I heard Director Comey say … Director Comey said that my answers were truthful and what I've said is consistent with what I have told the American people, that there were decisions discussed and made to classify retroactively certain of the emails," she said.

The Washington Post Fact Checker picked apart that statement, ultimately giving it four "Pinocchios," its worst rating for truthfulness.

Troopers Investigating DUI Nearly Hit By 2nd DUI Suspect

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 08:30 AM PDT

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Troopers directing traffic around the scene of a crash involving a suspected drunk driver in Wicomico County early Friday escaped with their lives when another suspected drunk driver slammed into one of their vehicles, authorities said.

Troopers were detouring westbound traffic on Route 50 near Walston Switch Road in Parsonsburg after a Chevrolet driven by a 26-year-old man, who was believed to be intoxicated, left the road and crashed into a tree about 2 a.m., Maryland State Police spokesperson Elena Russo toldWJZ in a phone interview.

About an hour later, while a tow truck was hauling the Chevrolet up an embankment, troopers were able to jump out of the way as a Ford Fusion driven by a 25-year-old man slammed into the back of a trooper's Ford Explorer, Russo said.

Armed Citizen Receives Award of Valor for saving Ohio police officer

An Ohio man with a concealed carry permit was presented an award this week for saving a Mount Vernon police officer who was being attacked by a suspect.

Cpl. Michael Wheeler of Ohio's Mount Vernon Police Department recounted Wednesday an incident last year when he was attacked by a homeless crystal meth addict. Cpl. Wheeler said the suspect knocked him onto his back and pinned him to the ground, The Federalist reported.

Cpl. Wheeler said the man was reaching for his firearm when Dylan DeBoard appeared with a handgun drawn.

"I wish a lot more of society would do what he did. There were people standing around, but they were just watching. I kept wondering why people didn't do anything," the officer said.

When A University Goes Too Far...

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 08:26 AM PDT

A student in Texas is suspended for fifty-five days because of her post where she wrote All Lives Matter on Facebook yet SU doesn't suspend over a lynching drawing that was circulated on social media...

What's wrong with this picture?

Seriously, folks. The Radicalized Liberals are overrunning the country with this garbage and it has to stop. Attached is Breitbart News article about the incident at the University of Houston, where Rohini Sethi went on Facebook and corrupted Black Lives Matter with "All Lives Matter" in response to the Dallas Police shootings. (July 7th)

For her post, not only was she suspended but now has to go to a dippy diversity workshop and also has to issue an apology.

The University of Houston seems to take it upon itself to quash free speech!
Sorry, but this is NOT WHO WE ARE

The university is clearly in the wrong here and should be sanctioned by their Board of Regents. They have opened themselves up to a world of trouble. College age people should look at these incidents when making decisions about where to go to college. It's a scathing and massive overreach on their part which violates students' First Amendment Rights as protected by our Constitution!

Should any other university get any bright ideas, warning: David Webb has come out and said this student needs to get a lawyer and sue the college! And, frankly, I wholeheartedly concur.

As for Texas, I expected more from you!

Traffic Stop in Rehoboth Nets Heroin

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 07:45 AM PDT

Tyrie J. Williams
Rehoboth- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Bridgeville man for heroin possession after a traffic stop near Rehoboth.
The incident occurred around 7:34 p.m. Sunday July 31, 2016, as a trooper on patrol in the area of Coastal Highway (SR1) southbound north of Shuttle Road observed a dark blue Mercedes-Benz E32 traveling at an apparent high rate of speed and failing to signal lane changes. The trooper conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of IHOP, located at 36670 Bayside Outlet Drive, where the operator was identified as Tyrie J. Williams, 24 of Bridgeville.  A computer inquiry into Williams' license revealed it was suspended.  An odor of marijuana was also detected coming from the vehicle as the trooper made contact with Williams, who was traveling with another male subject and Williams' 6-month-old son.
All of the occupants were asked to exit the vehicle while a search was conducted. A bag was located behind the driver's side floorboard, just in front of the car seat in which the 6-month-old was sitting.  This bag contained a plastic jar normally used for baby formula with 507 bags of heroin (7.605 grams) as well as a glass jar with 34 grams of marijuana.
Tyrie Williams was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop7 where he was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, and various other traffic related offenses.  He was arraigned at JP3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $62,500.00 cash bond.
The 6-month-old child was uninjured and turned over to the mother at the scene.  The other male passenger was not charged.

Theologian Wayne Grudem: Why Voting for Donald Trump is a Morally Good Choice

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 07:00 AM PDT

Some Christian friends tell me they can't in good conscience vote for Donald Trump because, when faced with a choice between "the lesser of two evils," the morally right thing is to choose neither one. They recommend voting for a third-party or write-in candidate.

As a professor who has taught Christian ethics for 39 years, I think their analysis is incorrect, for reasons that I will briefly mention here and that I have explained in greater detail elsewhere:

I did not support Trump in the primary season, but now that Trump has won the GOP nomination, I think voting for Trump is a morally good choice because he will do more good for the nation than his opponent. I do not think Trump is an "evil candidate," but rather a good candidate with flaws.

If this election is close (which seems likely), then if someone votes for a write-in candidate instead of voting for Trump, this action will directly help Hillary Clinton, because she will need one less vote to win. Therefore the question that Christians should ask is this: Can I in good conscience act in a way that helps a liberal like Hillary Clinton win the presidency?

Clinton would quickly replace Justice Scalia with another liberal like Breyer, Ginsburg, Sotomayor, and Kagan. This would give liberals a 5-4 majority on the Supreme Court even without Justice Kennedy, and 6-3 when he votes with them.

But that is not all.

Can Hillary Be Trusted? Campaign Says We'll Just Have To Elect Her To Find Out

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 06:45 AM PDT

Doing diligence and background checks can be tedious, tough work so Democrats would prefer you just take their word for it. Take for example, Nancy Pelosi's famous quote where she assured voters on Obamacare, saying:

"It's going to be very, very exciting. But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it."

And that turned out just fine, right? In fact, we recently highlighted the great success of Obamacare in a post which pointed out that certain providers were looking to impose 60% YoY premium increases in 2017. That's pretty good in a flattish real wage growth environment, right? Oh well, nothing we can do about it now that the bill has already been passed but at least now we know! Thanks, Nancy!

The Clinton campaign is now making an eerily similar argument for Hillary. When asked whether Hillary could convince voters that she could be trusted, her campaign manager, Robby Mook, suggested that voters will just have to elect her to find out. In a recent interview with Politico, Glenn Thrush asked Mr. Mook whether the campaign could really "move the dial on trust" with regards to Hillary. His response:

"I don't think people will fully appreciate who she is until, knock on wood, she's elected president."

So why get bogged down with endless, monotonous research on the various scandals surrounding the Clinton campaign? After all, as Tommy Boy taught us, "I can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking my head up a bull's ass, but I'd rather take a butcher's word for it." We might as well just elect her so we'll know once and for all whether she can truly be trusted. What could go wrong?

The full interview with Robby Mook can be heard below or the full transcript can be read here.

Donald Trump Protests Debates Being Held During NFL Games

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 06:37 AM PDT

Donald Trump is protesting how two of the three presidential debates between him and Hillary Clinton have been scheduled during NFL games this fall. And he is accusing the Democrats and Clinton of wanting it this way.

In a tweet, the Republican presidential candidate said he thinks his rival pushed the Commission on Presidential Debates to schedule the televised showdowns at times where many of his supporters, like working class white men, might be watching football instead.

"As usual, Hillary & the Dems are trying to rig the debates so 2 are up against major NFL games," Trump tweeted.

But the Commission said Saturday they did not "consult with any political parties or campaigns in making these decisions." The organization announced the upcoming debates on Sept. 23, 2015.

Sanctuary Cities Get $342 Million From Taxpayers

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 06:30 AM PDT

President Obama's Justice Department has coughed up hundreds of millions of dollars to so-called "sanctuary cities" that refuse federal demands for criminal illegal immigrants sought for deportation, according to a new inspector general memo.

In just 10 of 155 jurisdictions reviewed, taxpayers handed over $342.1 million in Justice grants to the law-breaking cities and states that have policies barring jails and police from cooperating with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. The IG said that is 63 percent of the funds available to all American cities.

The memo is likely to stir up the issue of illegal immigration and sanctuary cities in the presidential campaign.

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton has voiced support for the sanctuary effort in which state and local officials in mostly urban areas choose to harbor illegals with criminal records rather than comply with ICE requests to turn them over or even identify their immigration status. Donald Trump has called for an end to the practice.

Democrats Stand by Ex-DNC Leader Wasserman Schultz

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 06:23 AM PDT

Despite scandal, Democratic colleagues are standing by U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who resigned as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee following the email leak last week that greatly embarrassed the party.

"She'll rebound from it," Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, the third-ranking Democrat in the House, told The Hill Thursday. "I'm going to do everything I can to help her rebound from it."

"Debbie has so many friends who care about her, and she's gonna be just fine," said New York Rep. Jim Crowley, vice chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. "Debbie is a big person and she knows that this election is more important than any one of us — it's about helping elect Hillary Clinton."

But Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee officials made clear to reporters on Monday that she wouldn't be getting financial help from the organization in her re-election bid, because her district is considered safely Democratic, Fox News reported.

"I'd never underestimate Debbie Wasserman Schultz. She's a force of nature," Rep. André Carson of Indiana said Thursday. "Things happen in our careers, because we're human beings, but she is not to be underestimated. She still has a very bright future. This was a short block in the road, but I think she'll be back stronger than ever."

NY Teacher: How a Lockdown Changed My Mind on Guns in School

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 06:07 AM PDT

On July 29, Breitbart News spoke to Mary Anne Marcella, a New York City school teacher who explained that a lockdown at her school caused her to realize that the teacher's ultimate defense is a firearm.

Mary Anne was teaching at the end of spring semester 2016 when the loudspeaker boomed, "We are in lockdown. This is not a drill." It was the first actual lockdown she had experienced. And while part of her kept thinking it was not real — i.e., perhaps it was a false alarm — her training for such situations kicked in and she locked her classroom door, covered up the glass in the door, pulled down the shades on the windows and turned off the lights. She moved her 30 students to a corner away from the door and they waited together in the silence for nearly 5 minutes.

She asked herself different questions with each passing minute. At the 60 second point, her thoughts revolved around the self-assuring tendency that the alarm had to be false. Two minutes into the lockdown, she saw worry on her students' faces and tried to reassure them. In do doing, she fought to be sure they could not see that concern was welling up in her too.

Trump Beats Clinton in Convention Speech Viewership

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 05:45 AM PDT

Two million more viewers tuned in to watch Donald Trump's acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland than watched Hillary Clinton's acceptance speech at the Democratic convention in Philadelphia.

Trump's address had 30 million viewers while Clinton's had 28 million viewers, The Hill reported.

The Hill noted that these totals include only the top six cable networks and do not include viewer totals from C-SPAN and PBS, which are disproportionately watched by Democrats.

The Democrats had better overall viewership throughout the conventions than the Republicans, but Trump was a bigger draw at the end of the conventions.

Trump's speech was by some accounts the longest acceptance speech in modern convention history, clocking in at about an hour and fifteen minutes.

No Confusion: Alcohol Causes Seven Cancers

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 05:30 AM PDT

There is "strong evidence" that alcohol causes seven cancers, and other evidence indicates that it "probably" causes more, according to a new literature review published online July 21 inAddiction.

Epidemiologic evidence supports a causal association of alcohol consumption and cancers of the oropharynx, larynx, esophagus, liver, colon, rectum, and female breast, says Jennie Connor, MB, ChB, MPH, from the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, University of Otago, in Dunegin, New Zealand.

In short, alcohol causes cancer.

This is not news, says Dr Connor. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and other agencies have long identified alcohol consumption as being causally associated with these seven cancers.

So why did Dr Connor, who is an epidemiologist and physician, write a new review? Because she wants to "clarify the strength of the evidence" in an "accessible way."

There is "confusion" about the statement, "Alcohol causes cancer," explains Dr Connor.

Public and scientific discussion about alcohol and cancer has muted the truth about causality, she suggests.

"In the public and the media, statements made by the world's experts are often given the same weight as messages from alcohol companies and their scientists. Overall messages become unclear. For these reasons, the journal [Addiction] has tagged this piece [her review] as 'For Debate,' " she told Medscape Medical News.

The use of causal language in scientific and public discussions is "patchy," she writes.

For example, articles and newspaper stories often use expressions such as "alcohol-related cancer" and "alcohol-attributable cancer"; they refer to a "link" between alcohol and cancer and to the effect of alcohol on "the risk of cancer."

These wordings "incorporate an implicit causal association, but are easily interpreted as something less than cancer being caused by drinking," observes Dr Connor.

"Stop drinking alcohol" is a catch phrase that could be ― but is not ― akin to "stop smoking," she also suggests.

"Currently, alcohol's causal role is perceived to be more complex than tobacco's, and the solution suggested by the smoking analogy — that we should all reduce and eventually give up drinking alcohol — is widely unacceptable," writes Dr Connor.

The newly published review "reinforces the need for the public to be made aware of the causal link between alcohol and cancer," said Colin Shevills, from the Alcohol Health Alliance UK, in a press statement.

"Research shows that only around 1 in 10 people [in the UK] are currently aware of the alcohol-cancer link," he said.

"People have the right to know about the impact of alcohol on their health, including its link with cancer, so that they can make informed choices about how much they drink," added Shevills.

The lack of clarity about alcohol causing cancer, Dr Connor believes, is related to alcohol industry propaganda as well as the fact that the "epidemiological basis for causal inference is an iterative process that is never completed fully."

NYT Journalist Calls Out Clinton Comms Director for Press Conference Excuse

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 05:00 AM PDT

New York Times journalist Adam Nagourney called out the Director of Communications for Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign, Jennifer Palmieri, Thursday for her candidate not holding enough press conferences.

This is not a new critique for the former secretary. Clinton defended herself earlier this year acknowledging that she had yet to do a press conference but had sat down for over 300 interviews.

Palmieri defended Clinton's accessibility with the voters saying she has done, "Hundreds upon hundreds of interviews" but recognized, "Other people's questions matter too, voters' questions matter too."

Nagourney abruptly cuts off Palmieri's statement saying, "That's a false choice…you can do both."

Palmieri quickly defended Clinton claiming, "She does do both."

Nagourney told Palmieri they could argue whether or not press conferences are good for presidential candidates but the bottom line is, "She doesn't do them enough."

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has even jumped on the bandwagon critiquing Clinton for her lack of press conferences. At his own press conference on Wednesday in Florida, he knocked Clinton for not holding a press conference in 235 days.

Dem-Funded Group Attacks Navy SEAL in Missouri GOP Primary 'The only chance they have to win in November is to interfere in this Republican primary'

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 04:00 AM PDT

Democrats are launching attack ads against a Republican candidate who served as a Navy SEAL to tilt the scales in the Missouri gubernatorial primary.

Jobs and Opportunity, a 527 group that received more than $3 million from the Democratic Governors Association in 2014, will spend more than $500,000 on television and radio ads to attack retired Navy SEAL Eric Greitens, who is one of four Republicans vying to succeed outgoing Gov. Jay Nixon, a Democrat.

The ad criticizes Greitens for accepting $1 million from Michael Goguen, an alleged sexual predator and tech investor. Other Republican opponents used Goguen's donation to attack Greitens at a March debate.

"While others returned his money, Greitens said he was 'honored' to take his money," the female narrator says. "Eric Greitens, he's not who he says he is."

Greitens fired back at the Democratic Party for running interference in the race during a Friday protest outside of the party's headquarters in the state. He said the ad demonstrates he is the candidate that the Democratic candidate, Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster, fears most.

"They know that the only chance they have to win in November is to interfere in this Republican primary and try to stop us now," Greitens said outside of the state Democratic headquarters. "Chris Koster is a weak, failed, corrupt career politician who has turned Missouri into a state known for serial corruption, epic failure, and national embarrassment."

Missouri Republican Party Chairman John Hancock called the tactic "dishonest."

"The Democrats clearly have no confidence in Chris Koster's ability to win on his own merits," Hancock said in a statement. "Instead of campaigning honestly, national Democrats are making a desperate, last-ditch effort to manipulate the Republican primary, just like they did in 2012."

Democrats have used a similar strategy in the past with success. Democratic party boosters aided U.S. Rep. Todd Akin's campaign with attack ads designed to help him secure the Republican Senate nomination over a crowded field in 2012. Akin went on to lose to Sen. Claire McCaskill despite her soft poll numbers before the primaries. McCaskill later penned an op-ed titled, "How I Helped Todd Akin Win—So I Could Beat Him Later."

Democratic Voters: Here Comes the Shun

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 03:00 AM PDT

The glass ceiling isn't the only thing Hillary Clinton shattered this week. She may have also fractured her own party. After adopting the most radical platform in DNC history, some Democrats worry that the party is about to learn a hard lesson about its extreme social stance. The incredible shrinking tent is having a major effect on the base, which warns that the country is nowhere near Clinton's fanatical approach to abortion.

Justin Giboney, a Clinton delegate from Atlanta didn't hide his frustration on the document, which he described as "reaching a point of irresponsibility." "It's one thing to say sometimes [abortion] is necessary," he told reporters. "It's another thing to say it's a social good." Others, like young medical student Christina Healy, feel like pro-life Democrats have been betrayed. "It feels like we are being pushed out of the party, but not for a good reason."

That's exactly the alarm Kristen Day sounded in her op-ed about the perils of drawing such a hard line on abortion. Pew Research backed up Day's warning with numbers that spell trouble for the DNC. According to their latest surveys, 28 percent of Democrats believe abortion should be illegal in all or most cases. In an election as tight as this one, that's a big slice of the DNC pie. And if the DNC thought their leaders would fall in line with this radical policy departure, they're mistaken. Already, Democratic senators are distancing themselves from the platform, which includes -- for the first time ever -- a call to repeal the Hyde amendment and force taxpayers to bankroll abortion-on-demand.

Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) was one of the first out of the gate, calling the idea "crazy." "It's something that I know most of the Democrats in West Virginia and most West Virginians would not agree with. I don't either," he told the Weekly Standard. His fellow Democrats, Senators Bob Casey (Pa.) and Joe Donnelly (Ind.), both self-proclaimed pro-lifers, reminded their party that the amendment was "a consensus-based policy." And Donnelly spokeswoman Sarah Rothschild insisted her boss wasn't about to change his mind on the issue. He "has long supported and continues to support the Hyde amendment." Even the liberal wing of the party couldn't believe their eyes.

Some of the staunchest supporters of abortion -- including President Obama and Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D) -- at least give lip service to the wall between the barbaric practice and taxpayers. The divide between Hillary and the current White House was even more evident when Obama's former director of faith outreach, Michael Wear, called the platform "morally reprehensible." Yet, Hillary, in one of her biggest rallying cries of the night, insisted, "We wrote it together -- now let's go out there and make it happen together!" In this case "it" isn't just toppling Hyde, but sendingmore money to Planned Parenthood, labeling the killing of unborn children "a fundamental human right," fighting against laws that provide for safer and cleaner clinics for women, even taking away voters' rights to set the standard in their own states! And it could get worse. Their new nominee has also said that "religious beliefs" on abortion "have to be changed." How, she's never specified -- but the lack of religious liberty in the platform probably has something to do with it.

With their own party in disarray, Chelsea Clinton tried to distract people from the mess by attacking the GOP platform. Chelsea, who must have inherited her parents' allergy to the truth, insisted that the Republicans endorsed "child abuse" by supporting gay conversion therapy. As usual, a member of the Clinton family was twisting the facts. The reality is, the GOP platform doesn't even mention conversion therapy! This is what it doessay:

We support the right of parents to determine the proper medical treatment and therapy for their minor children. We support the right of parents to consent to medical treatment for their minor children and urge enactment of legislation that would require parental consent for their daughter to be transported across state lines for abortion.

The Navy and LGBTs: Joined at the Ship

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 02:00 AM PDT

While the rest of the world was focused on the terrorist attacks in France, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus was busy putting another politically correct stamp on the military. On July 14, outlets are now reporting, the political appointee (and one of the staunchest activists for special LGBT privileges) inked his name to a notice that he planned on naming a new ship in honor of the late gay icon and San Francisco politician Harvey Milk. The news should be astounding to anyone familiar with Milk and his less-than-honorable life story. Although he served briefly in the Navy, nothing he did merits the kind of tribute Mabus is giving him.

As FRC's Peter Sprigg said when Milk was awarded a posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom, "Milk is famous only for winning one election, being murdered -- and having sex with men." Now, the Navy seems intent on following in the administration's ridiculous footsteps and bestowing a great honor on someone primarily on the basis of his sex life. While the LGBT community has long idolized Milk for his decision to live openly, his Navy career is hardly the stuff of legend. In fact, one of the defining biographies on the man (written by a self-described "gay journalist") insists that Harvey "continued to engage in homosexual conduct while serving in the U.S. Navy" against the law. According to Peter, author Randy Shilts reports that Milk, who had his own apartment off base, would pick up hitchhiking sailors by offering them a bed to sleep in. What he didn't tell them is that it was his bed. "The guests often would not know that Milk's apartment had only one bed until they walked in the door."

"Milk later exploited his time in the Navy during his political career," Peter explains, "by lying about it, claiming falsely that he had received a dishonorable discharge for his homosexuality. Milk 'knew the story would make good copy,' according to Shilts. 'Maybe people will read it, feel sorry for me and then vote for me,' Milk told one campaign manager."

An 'After School Satan Club' could be coming to your kid’s elementary school

Posted: 01 Aug 2016 12:00 AM PDT

SALEM, Mass. — It's a hot summer night, and leaders of the Satanic Temple have gathered in the crimson-walled living room of a Victorian manse in this city renowned for its witch trials in the 17th century. They're watching a sepia-toned video, in which children dance around a maypole, a spider crawls across a clown's face and eerie, ambient chanting gives way to a backwards, demonic voice-over. The group chuckles with approval.

They're here plotting to bring their wisdom to the nation's public elementary school children. They point out that Christian evangelical groups already have infiltrated the lives of America's children through after-school religious programming in public schools, and they appear determined to give young students a choice: Jesus or Satan.

"It's critical that children understand that there are multiple perspectives on all issues, and that they have a choice in how they think," said Doug Mesner, the Satanic Temple's co-founder, who goes by the professional name of Lucien Greaves.

On Monday, the group plans to introduce its After School Satan Club to public elementary schools, including one in Prince George's County, petitioning school officials to allow them to open immediately as the academic year starts. Chapter heads from New York, Boston, Utah and Arizona were in Salem on July 10 talking strategy, with others from Minneapolis, Detroit, San Jose, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Florida participating online.
