'If you're black you can't go out': Africans in China face racism in Covid-19 crackdown

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:30 PM PDT

Africans in southern China's largest city say they have become targets of suspicion and subjected to forced evictions, arbitrary quarantines and mass coronavirus testing as the country steps up its fight against imported infections.

China says it has largely curbed its Covid-19 outbreak but a recent cluster of cases linked to the Nigerian community in Guangzhou sparked the alleged discrimination by locals and virus prevention officials.

Local authorities in the industrial centre of 15 million said at least eight people diagnosed with the illness had spent time in the city's Yuexiu district, known as "Little Africa".

Five were Nigerian nationals who faced widespread anger after reports surfaced that they had broken a mandatory quarantine and been to eight restaurants and other public places instead of staying home.

"This Should Trouble Us Deeply" - Chilling Documentary Maps Out Likely Origin Of COVID-19

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:00 PM PDT

While The Epoch Times began publishing reports of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus on Jan. 2, most outlets had yet to pick up on the story because of the CCP's lockdown on information. Three months later, over 200 countries and territories have been infected and the CCP virus has caused over 85,000 deaths infecting at least 1.4 million, but information is murkier than ever.

"We've pretty much heard every rumor under the sun. We've heard every theory, every crazy rumor, we've heard all these different narratives," said Joshua Philipp, award-winning investigative reporter and host of the show "Crossroads."

The rumors aren't by accident: The CCP has been actively engaging in a disinformation campaign, and media outlets around the world have parroted the propaganda. As a result, entire nations have been operating under false information as they try to battle the pandemic within their borders.

Philipp and his colleages at The Epoch Times and NTD Television thought it their responsibility to sift through all the information available, verify it, and put it into one place. The result is the just-premiered documentary "Tracking Down the Origin of the Wuhan Coronavirus," which is available to watch online. Less than two days after its premiere, the documentary has around 1.6 million views across different platforms.

The film "really tries to sift through all of the rumors, all of the truths, all of the falsehoods, and show people as accurate a picture as possible of what really happened and where this virus actually came from,"Philipp said.

In it, Philipp pieces together the development of the virus and includes interviews that shed light on the Chinese regime's actions and intentions.

WUHAN LAB WAS PERFORMING CORONAVIRUS EXPERIMENTS ON BATS FROM THE CAVES WHERE THE DISEASE IS BELIEVED TO HAVE ORIGINATED

Flashback: Molecular Biologist Says Coronavirus Could Have Leaked From Wuhan Biolab

Flashback: US Army Colonel/ Coronavirus Was Leaked From A Chinese Lab

The laboratory at the centre of scrutiny over the pandemic has been carrying out research on bats from the cave which scientists believe is the original source of the devastating outbreak.

Documents obtained by The Mail on Sunday show the Wuhan Institute of Virology undertook coronavirus experiments on mammals captured more than 1,000 miles away in Yunnan – funded by a $3.7 million grant from the US government.

Sequencing of the Covid-19 genome has traced it to bats found in Yunnan's caves.

It comes after this newspaper revealed last week that Ministers here now fear that the pandemic could have been caused by a virus leaking from the institute.

Senior Government sources said that while 'the balance of scientific advice' was still that the deadly virus was first transmitted to humans from a live animal market in Wuhan, an accident at the laboratory in the Chinese city was 'no longer being discounted'.

According to one unverified claim, scientists at the institute could have become infected after being sprayed with blood containing the virus, and then passed it on to the local community.

A Viewer Writes: Covid 19

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 07:00 PM PDT

Covid 19 is a weapon. Let's not forget that. The danger of the virus itself is Only one small aspect of what is going on.

Let's look at what Covid 19 has accomplished as a weapon.

It took the focus off the democrat's failed and pathetic impeachment
It took the focus off Joe Biden's shenanigans in Ukraine
It took the focus off the 1,500 people who show up for a Biden Rally vs. the 80,000 that show up for a Trump Rally.
It destroyed the strongest economic surge in our lifetimes.
It put Millions upon Millions out of work and replaced their status with uncertainty.
It opened the door for the enemy to demand mail in voting.

And the list goes on.

Yes, the virus is real and dangerous. But, the fear porn around it is so blown out of proportion it is astounding. And it is fed relentlessly by the bought and paid for parrots in the press.

The only question that remains is whether Trump will be able to turn this on the Perps and destroy their sorry asses. Because if not, we are doomed, imo.

WE are at war. Whether the populous recognizes it or not.

Trump reportedly said he would reject a bailout package if it included aid to keep the US Postal Service functioning

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 06:30 PM PDT

President Donald Trump said he would refuse to sign the $2.2 trillion COVID-19 stimulus package if it contained funding for the United States Postal Service, according to a report Saturday from The Washington Post.

"We told them very clearly that the president was not going to sign the bill if [money for the Postal Service] was in it," a Trump administration official told the Post. "I don't know if we used the v-bomb, but the president was not going to sign it, and we told them that."

In addition to the senior White House official, The Washington Post reported a congressional official also confirmed the president threatened to refuse to sign the $2.2 trillion stimulus package known as the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act if it contained any relief money for the postal service.

As The Post reported, Sens. Gary Peters, a Democrat from Michigan, and Ron Johnson, a Republican from Wisconsin, added a last-minute $10 billion loan to keep the postal service function in the short-term. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin had said lawmakers' plan to offer $13 billion in funding to the postal service could derail the entire package.

"You can have a loan or you can have nothing at all," Mnuchin said.

Coronavirus patients can suffer lasting bodily damage, even after recovery

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 06:00 PM PDT

Patients who survive COVID-19 can still suffer lasting bodily damage, including to the liver and heart, researchers are finding.

Multiple studies of recovered patients from China, where the disease first emerged in November, showed impaired liver and heart function, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"COVID-19 is not just a respiratory disorder," Dr. Harlan Krumholtz, a cardiologist at Yale University, told the paper.

"It can affect the heart, the liver, the kidneys, the brain, the endocrine system and the blood system."

Inflammation from the body's immune response has been linked to strokes and heart attacks.

New York Times Stealth-Edits Biden Sexual Assault Story, Removes History Of Unwanted Touching

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 05:30 PM PDT

The New York Times appeared to stealth-edit a story Sunday about sexual assault allegations against Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden while he was a senator in the 1990s.

The New York Times ran a story on Sunday titled, "Examining Tara Reade's Sexual Assault Allegation Against Joe Biden," in which the paper recounts the former Senate staffer's version of an assault that allegedly took place in 1993 by the then-Delaware senator.

After some Twitter users mocked a particular passage in the piece, the Times edited it to remove a brief recounting of past allegations against Biden, and did not note the changes.

"No other allegation about sexual assault surfaced in the course of our reporting, nor did any former Biden staff corroborate Reade's allegation. We found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Biden, beyond hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable," the Times initially reported.

New federal projections show huge spike in coronavirus infections in the summer if current lockdown and social distancing measures are lifted after planned 30 days

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 05:00 PM PDT

New US government figures show that a spike in coronavirus infections will occur in the summer if the current lockdown measures are lifted after 30 days as planned.

About 95 percent of the US is currently on some form of lockdown after PresidentDonald Trump issued guidelines that called for 30 days of measures to slow the spread of the virus.

The government projections, obtained by the New York Times, indicate that lifting the strict social distancing measures now in place will see a second wave surge in infections and deaths in about June and July.

If the current shelter-in-place orders are lifted on May 30, the death total is estimated to reach 200,000, according to the projections obtained from the departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services.

The death toll could reach 300,000 without any restrictions imposed to contain coronavirus - including school closings, shelter-in-place orders and social distancing.

FNC’s Carlson: ‘We Have No Real Explanation for Why the Coronavirus Spread Throughout the West, but Not Throughout China’

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 04:00 PM PDT

On Friday, during his show's opening monologue, Fox News Channel's Tucker Carlson said there were still questions about the coronavirus/COVID-19 spread that have gone unanswered, or in some cases unasked.

Carlson said one of those mysteries pertained to the virus' seemingly selective nature, hitting some places hard while not others.

"A new draft paper by a team of scholars in Los Alamos National Laboratory, concludes that the Wuhan coronavirus is actually highly, highly infectious," Carlson said. "Based on extensive case analysis, the researchers estimate that the average infected Wuhan resident infected 5.7 other people. That's enough to double the epidemic in fewer than three days. Is that estimate accurate? We don't know if it is. An awful lot of the conclusions about this virus have turned out to be embarrassingly wrong. That's happened again and again, as we've told you, often with enormous consequences."

Virginia Governor Announces Signing of Extreme Abortion Bill on Good Friday

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) announced on Good Friday that he signed into law a bill his new Democrat majority rushedto approve, one that repeals most restrictions on abortion in the state.

Northam minimized the extremity of the Reproductive Health Protection Act, referring in a press release to the restrictions on abortion that are now repealed as "anti-women's health laws."

"No more will legislators in Richmond—most of whom are men—be telling women what they should and should not be doing with their bodies," Northam said in an accompanying statement. "The Reproductive Health Protection Act will make women and families safer, and I'm proud to sign it into law."

I just called into the county COVID conference call in Wicomico County today from a fire department to listen to the comments and Julia Glanz was the first person jumping in on the questions and is demanding a racial breakdown of those infected from the county health officer. WTF!! Who cares, We are all red blooded Americans! Why the Hell do Democrats always drop the race card? I never care what race they are when I drive the ambulance. Then when Mr. Shipley is closing the meeting Julie Glanz started interrupting him and asking how many tested positive at the county detention center and the county juvenile services. I'm trying to remember what part that Julia Glanz or the City of Salisbury plays in those county agencies other than their thugs becoming inmates. Is it just me or is she always this annoying? No wonder our county fire departments hate her and Jake Day.

The Coronavirus Can Spread Through the Soles of Shoes, According to the CDC

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 02:30 PM PDT

Medical workers on the front lines of the coronavirus should be sure to clean their shoes. In a new study published in one of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's journals, Emerging Infectious Diseases, researchers tested air and surface samples at a hospital in Wuhan, China, where the coronavirus outbreak initiated. The researchers found that about half of health-care professionals working in intensive care units carried the coronavirus on the soles of their shoes. Further, the report showed that there was a 100% positive rate from the floor of the pharmacy, where only health-care workers traveled, not infected patients.

"Therefore, the soles of medical staff shoes might function as carriers," the researchers wrote. "We highly recommend that persons disinfect shoe soles before walking out of wards containing COVID-19 patients."

Beijing demands US halt biggest arms sale to Taiwan of Donald Trump’s presidency

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 02:00 PM PDT

Beijing has demanded the United States reverse its approval of the biggest arms sale to Taiwan since Donald Trump took over as US president, while Taipei said it showed Washington's support in the face of growing military threats from mainland China.

The sale of equipment worth US$2.2 billion was approved by the US State Department on Monday, said the Defence Security Cooperation Agency, the Pentagon agency handling foreign arms sales.

The Taipei government's foreign ministry said the approved sale underlined America's support, especially with Beijing repeatedly
staging war games to intimidate the self-ruled island and sabotage peace and stability in the region.

Gov. Hogan Says 'Disturbing' Disparity In COVID-19 Deaths Among Blacks

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 01:30 PM PDT

Maryland's GOP Gov. Larry Hogan on Sunday described as "very disturbing" the 52% of coronavirus deaths among African-Americans in his state.

In an interview on ABC News' "This Week," Hogan noted he called for a study to track the number of cases and deaths by race because it wasn't being monitored, including by the federal government.

"This disparity among African-Americans is very disturbing," Hogan said. "It's why I called for the study. You know nobody was really tracking these things."

"The vast majority of our resources are focused on that Baltimore-Washington corridor and these communities that you're talking about," he said. "It's where almost all of our attention, all of our focus, all of our money, all of our health care, all of the assistance from the national guard, it's really where all of our testing is being done."

Colorado Baker Sued Again, This Time for Refusing ‘Gender Transition’ Cake

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 12:30 PM PDT

Jack Phillips, the baker who was sued for refusing to make a cake for a same-sex wedding because of his religious conscience, was back in court on Thursday, this time for turning down a request for a "gender transition" cake.

The first lawsuit against Phillips, who owns Masterpiece Cakeshop in Colorado, worked its way up to the United States Supreme Court, which in 2018, reached a 7-2 decision that the Colorado Civil Rights Commission acted with hostility toward religion when it ordered Phillips to make cakes for same-sex weddings as well as conduct so-called sensitivity training for his employees.

The Christian Post reported on how Phillips will once again be represented in court by the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF):

The same state agency pursued another case against Phillips because he declined to make a cake celebrating transgenderism. Phillips filed a lawsuit against the state alleging harassment and it subsequently dropped the matter.

After that, a local trans activist and attorney named Autumn Scardina called Phillips' Denver-area bakery to order a custom made gender-transition cake. Scardina waited past the appeal deadline so he could file a new lawsuit in a different court.

A Health Crisis Is No Time to Pick a Fight Over Beliefs About Marriage

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 12:00 PM PDT

After New York City became America's epicenter for COVID-19 infections, Gov. Andrew Cuomo called on medical personnel from around the nation to help if they can.

Hundreds, possibly thousands, answered the call, including the nonprofit, faith-based organization Samaritan's Purse, headed by Franklin Graham, son of the late evangelist Billy Graham.

Despite the fact that New York City said it desperately needed the 68-bed field hospital constructed by Samaritan's Purse in Central Park's East Meadow, critics complained that Graham and his Christian organization are "anti-LGBTQ."

True, Samaritan's Purse does ask that its employees and volunteers abide by a statement of faith acknowledging that marriage is between a man and a woman.

New York Times Smeared Brett Kavanaugh, Covered for Joe Biden

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 11:30 AM PDT

The New York Times is facing criticism for its apparent effort to paint allegations of sexual misconduct against former Vice President Joe Biden in the best possible light — a sharp contrast from how it treated Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

In reporting claims by former Biden Senate aide Tara Reade, who filed a criminal complaint in Washington, DC, last week over an alleged sexual assault in 1993, the Times concluded in a length report Sunday that there was "no pattern of sexual misconduct by Biden, beyond hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable."

In contrast, the Times went to great lengths to lend credibility to sensational, uncorroborated new claims of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh — who, unlike Biden, never had any history of touching women in the workplace.

Don't Let Liberals Federalize Elections

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 11:00 AM PDT

I'm sorry, but you have no constitutional "right" to vote by mail. You have no constitutional "right" to vote six days after an election is over. Nor do you have any "right" to censor information related to an election. Not even during a pandemic.

This week, the Supreme Court ruled that a federal court was not empowered to overwrite Wisconsin's election laws and force the state to accept ballots without any postmark deadline nearly a week after the election. Likewise, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that Gov. Tony Evers did not have the authority to arbitrarily suspend in-person voting.

If these dictates had been allowed to stand, they would have created insanely destructive precedents, taking elections out of the hands of local legislatures. If we discard legal norms every time there's a crisis, we no longer have a nation of laws but a country at the mercy of arbitrary decrees, emotional appeals, and pliable courts.

21 million Chinese died of coronavirus – US intelligence officials intercept data

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 10:30 AM PDT

A new data intercepted by the United States reveals that 21 million people died in China from December 2019 to March 2020, US intelligence officials conclude in a classified report for the Trump administration.

The Intelligence report stated that at least 20.9 million of the deaths were linked to coronavirus.

According to the US, the intercepted data that shows that China underreported its coronavirus infections and deaths was validated for a second time when it tallied with a data released by Beijing authorities. Beijing announced on March 19 that over 21 million cell phone accounts in China were canceled in the past three months while 840,000 landlines were closed.

China had reported little over 81,000 infections with 3,300 deaths.

An earlier intelligence report released by the US that China hid scale of the outbreak was quickly rejected by Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying. Hua said the country had been "open and transparent" about the extent of the outbreak before accusing Washington of trying to "shift the blame."

Trump Doubles Down On Threat To "Hold" $500 Million From WHO After Tedros Gets Testy

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 10:00 AM PDT

President Trump suggested on Friday that he may place a hold on US funding for the World Health Organization, which has consistently carried water for Beijing during the coronavirus outbreak - insisting that the communist regime had the disease under control, while peddling Chinese propaganda about the transmissibility of the virus.

WHO Director-General Tedros Ahanom Ghebreyesus also opposed Trump's late-January travel ban, saying "We reiterate our call to all countries not to impose restrictions that unnecessarily interfere with international travel and trade. Such restrictions can have the effect of increasing fear and stigma, with little public health benefit."

"We're going to have an announcement on the World Health Organization some time next week," said Trump during a Friday press conference. "As you know we give them approximately $500 million a year and we're going to be talking about that subject next week. We'll have a lot to say about it. We'll hold it," according to Bloomberg.

Trump added that he didn't want to make an announcement on Good Friday or before Easter.

"I also didn't want to do it before we have all the facts," Trump added. "But over the years, many years, we've been paying them from $300 to $500 - and even more - million dollars a year."

As Trump endures scrutiny of his government's response to the U.S. outbreak, some of his political allies have alleged the WHO was too trusting of Chinese assertions about the disease after it first appeared last year. Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, has said he would block further U.S. funding for the international health group until it changes its leadership, calling the agency "deceptive" and "Chinese apologists" in a Fox News interview on Tuesday.

Trump echoed some of that criticism Friday, saying the organization has been "very China-centric" and that he did not believe it was "fair to the American people." -Bloomberg

Brummert, who suffers from an autoimmune disorder, told the outlet that she last left her Charlotte home for a trip to the pharmacy in mid-March.

Because of her underlying condition, Brummert, as a precautionary measure, had kept her distance from others, including her husband, who is living in a separate room.

On one occasion, a woman who has since tested positive for the illness dropped off groceries on Brummert's doorstep, the report said.

The odds on who Joe Biden will pick as his female vice president candidate

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 09:00 AM PDT

With Sen. Bernie Sanders out of the race, the Joe Biden campaign is now moving into the fraught and delicate process of choosing a running mate.

Biden, at age 77, would be the oldest president ever elected should he triumph in November, making the vice president pick more important than ever.

"I think he's aware that he might be picking the next president. I think people are going to be more aware of that, too," Democratic strategist James Carville told The Post.

Biden has promised to choose a woman as his running mate, but beyond that, the field remains wide open with a dizzying array of candidates to choose from.

As a general rule, the nominee looks to choose a running mate who can balance the ticket and bring in attributes he or she is lacking.

National Association of Letter Carriers: Postal Service on verge of shutting down due to pandemic

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 08:30 AM PDT

The United States Postal Service may soon shut down without more emergency fundingfrom the government, the president of the National Association of Letter Carriers warned Friday.

Appearing on "America's Newsroom" with host Sandra Smith, Fredric Rolando said that the Postal Service is projected to lose about 50 percent of their revenue as a result of the coronavirus pandemic by the end of the fiscal year in September.

"And so, my message is: It's really vitally important to the American people that the next stimulus package provides funding to the Postal Service so that they can maintain their revenue stream to continue their operation through the pandemic crisis," he stated.

Democratic lawmakers were on the same page. New York Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and Virginia Congressman Gerry Connolly sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in late March urging the Senate to pass a stimulus package with emergency funds to help save the Postal Service from bankruptcy.

Coronavirus: Trump has declared major disaster in all 50 states at once, first time in history

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 07:30 AM PDT

President Trump issued a major disaster declaration for Wyoming on Saturday, meaning that there is now such a declaration within all 50 states due to the COVID-19pandemic.

It is the first time a president has ever declared a major disaster in all 50 states at once, according to Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere.

The move comes as confirmed cases of the coronavirus reached at least 519,453 as of Saturday afternoon. At least 20,071 people have died in the U.S. due to the disease, a death toll surpassing the one in hard-hit Italy -- and a figure that has doubled, from 10,000 to more than 20,000, in just five days. Worldwide, confirmed cases have surpassed 1.75 million, and more than 100,000 people have died.

They need to lead by example. Instead of blowing even more money on a stupid parade, this jackass should first be worried about the HEALTH and WELL BEING of ALL of the people working for the City. You lead by example and clearly this jackass is not following the Governors guidelines. Now I'll agree with some of the commenters on here, he's playing God. Jake doesn't know for a fact none of the people involved have the virus, are carriers or have been around someone who has it.

Over 80,000 Sign Online Petition Demanding Recall of Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer

Posted: 13 Apr 2020 05:00 AM PDT

A Change.org petition demanding the recall of Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) went viral on Saturday, quickly shooting well past 80,000 signatures.

The online petition had about 60,000 names in the morning and, by the afternoon, had surpassed 80,000.

It read:

Recall Governor Whitmer. Her failure's during the Covid-19 Corona Virus is causing more Michiganders to get sick. Closing and banning various non essential business's and activities while leaving others open. Further promoting the pandemic. She has lied since day one with her #Fixthedamnroads which she has failed to do anything in this regards. The response to #PFAS was negligence and completely removing funding for #PureMichigan clearly shows her lack of anything positive for the State of Michigan.

Legally, the petition is meaningless, but it may indicate an appetite on the part of some Michiganders to remove their governor.

According to Ballotpedia, petitioners need to gather one-quarter of the number of votes in the previous gubernatorial election in order to trigger a recall process.

That equates to 1,062,647 valid signatures being required to put Whitmer's recall on the ballot.

"Whitmer is more concerned about running for Vice President," Dylan Raymondwrote as his reason for signing.

Mike Robinson echoed that theme: "She chooses her own political aspirations over the people of Michigan."

HUGE! Via John Solomon: Durham Has Subpoenaed and Called in Witnesses Before a DC Grand Jury
